Clarissa Hawthorne
It started with a howl of a wolf. Then Clarissa was running fast, pushing herself past her breaking point in the middle of a dark forest. The howl was getting louder behind her and the girl commanded her feet to run faster. She came into a holt when she heard a screeching in front of her. So instead of going forward, she turned right. The silence was broken by the sound of dried leaves being crushed under her red stiletto heels. 'Heels? Why the hell am I wearing heels?! she thought before stopping. There was another howl, and Clarissa stood her ground. She fished out her wand from her jacket pocket and fired a stunning spell from the direction where she heard it but instead of casting a spell, the wand squack. "What the..." quack... quack.. quack.... "Caleb!" she hissed quietly, accusing her twin brother immediately.

The quacking sound was definitely loud, and without thinking, she snapped it in half. Instead of breaking the magic, the quacking sound doubled. Clarissa threw the wand on the ground with disgust but her expression changed when the werewolf emerge from the trees. It growled at her, showcasing its terrible fangs. The werewolf crouched, ready to jump and then...it started quacking.

"Ducks!" Clarissa exclaimed as she was jolted from her sleep. The book Wanderings with Werewolves by Gilderoy Lockhart fell on the floor with a thud. The good looking wizard was smiling on the front cover. Clarissa decided to pass the time while drying her hair by rereading one of her favorite books but then she fell asleep. Caleb thinks that it was ridiculous and he believes that Lockhart is a fraud, and made everything up but for Clarissa it was wonderful and amazing. She reached down for her book and placed it under her pillow. Stupid nightmare. Glancing around, she found Evangeline by her bed. "Hey, what time is it?" Clarissa mumbled, rubbing her eyes at the same time. "Caleb's gonna be angry if we're late."

Francesca Simmons
Francesca listened intently to the girl's explanation, her mind whirring with ways to poke holes in it. The book she had been reading lay open in her lap, half forgotten. Francesca found the girl curious, she spoke with a complete flat tone, one could almost mistake as rude, however Fran herself was not like most people and did not take her tone of voice to heart. In fact, it fascinated her meeting someone so very matter-of-fact.

'I presume you like books more than people,' said the girl, 'me too.' Francesca smiled, glancing around the room.
'Yes, in a manner of speaking. I actually find human interaction particularly fascinating, however I find that I am not adept at it.' Her cheeks flushed a light pink as she continued, "truth be told, I am a little bit curious about this ceremony, but most people find my presence intolerable. My name is Francesca, in case you were wondering.'

Amelia Ravenhurst
Amelia was now standing beside the enchanted string instruments hovering in thin air with arms folded, watching the bows move up and down the strings to the tune of Au Claire De Lune. Producing her wand from her handbag she began tapping the tip against her chin thoughtfully, wondering what to make the string quartet play. She had always had a bit of a soft spot for the Aerosmith song Walk This Way. Cheesy it was, but it happened to be her father's favourite song, and she happened to be quite the daddy's girl.

There was also the option of a good Weird Sisters classic, maybe the one about the hippogriff? Before she could decide and flourish her wand, a voice startled her and she turned to see who had spoken to her, pleasantly surprised to see Galen Williams, the fetching Ravenclaw boy who thought studying beat socialising at a party.

'You seem to be a woman on a mission, Miss Ravenhurst. Anything I can do to help?' Amelia let a slight smile cross her face as she replied.

'Well, well, what got you to finally put down the books Mr Brain Box? If you really want to help you can tell me a song to get this little quartet to play,' she paused and gave him a coy look, 'or you could dance with me instead. Whichever crosses your mind first.'

Galen Williams
What got him to finally put down the books? Galen hardly thought it appropriate to mention that it was a pretty redhead with a very persuasive glare that got him to put the books away and come talk to her. "I found that talking to a fascinating person such as yourself would prove far more fun and fruitful this evening. After all, I was only working on things that are due several weeks from now." His brown eyes bore into hers and he leaned against the wall.

"Music or dancing?" Sadly, he wasn't really a dancer, but he figured that he wouldn't really have a choice in the matter. "Why not both?" That was clearly what she wanted to hear. "But are you looking for muggle music? or something less controversial?"

Preston Walker
Preston couldn't fight the heat that rose to her cheeks when Aria threaded her fingers through her own. But as she went on to talk about other cute girls, preston found that she was getting very mixed messages. But it was time she accepted that Aria was clearly not interested in her. It seemed she just wanted to go talk to someone else, that was clear enough by her proposition. "Uh. Sure. I mean I guess it could work. I could try to talk to people."

Her eyes widened though as Aria continued to speak. "P-pretend to be my girlfriend? N-no I think everything should be fine. That...that won't be necessary. Besides, I mean. You're clearly trying to find someone to talk to, so it wouldn't look very good on you if you had a girlfriend, would it?" She nervously laughed and pushed some hair out of her face.

"Woah! A year supply? That's a lot! Well, if you chicken out, you owe me....a year's supply of butterbeer!" That wasn't what she wanted to say. She wanted to say "a date", but she didn't have the guts for that. Instead, she was going to try and meet someone else tonight. Clearly, this crush on Aria was going nowhere.

Emerson Albrecht
Omar's readiness to approach the vehicle made her smile.

"I made it, actually," she beamed, unable to contain her pride. She fiddled with the gold chord bracelet around her wrist, but despite her best efforts to distract herself, embarrassment once again brightened her cheeks.

"I guess you can say that I... borrowed... some things from a few trips to Hogsmeade over the years," she continued. "And I might have smuggled in some muggle parts from home now and again. I'm sure it totally annoyed my roommates, but I started building it in our dormitory until I had to move it to a less conspicuous area. It's kinda surprising how easy it is to get away with things..."

Omar Hadid
Examining the bike as Emerson spoke, Omar had to admit it was a real beauty. Sleek and hard. Just like a bike was meant to be. But then, the actual meaning of her words caught up with him. "Wait. You don't mean to say that you built this?" That was incredible! Apparently he hadn't known as much about her as he thought he had. And that was all for the better. he hadn't thought that he could like her any more than he had before, but he had been wrong. Now he was really itching for his pencil and sketchbook. Drawing her clad in leather-tastefully. He wasn't a douchebag. Oil streaked on her face, hair wild. Intense gaze, fluched face. Working on this magnificent beast. She truly was amazing. And he would love to capture that on paper.

Amelia Ravenhurst
Amelia watched as Galen leaned against the wall and contemplated her words. This would probably be the first and only time a Ravenclaw would tell her that she was more interesting that cracking open a book and getting down to brass tacks, so she savoured it well, smiling.
'You flatter me," she said, 'and you know, I admire a person who gets all their work done weeks early. I know I couldn't.' She took a step closer to him, whispering conspiratorially, 'Don't tell anyone, but I'm a terrible procrastinator, my editors think I'm a bit of a nightmare!' she chuckled lightheartedly.

'Music or dancing? Why not both?' Galen said in answer to her question, 'but are you looking for muggle music? Or something less controversial?'

Amelia thought for a moment. 'I would say controversial, but I would rather keep my limbs and I doubt controversial is going to keep some people sweet,' she briefly glanced at Seraphine, whom she neither liked nor disliked. It was simply a fact that she would not be pleased.

Laurel Osborne
Laurel - Lola - Osborne was highly entranced by the book in her lap. She had picked it off the shelf and read the first page (after all you should never judge a book by its cover, even if it had a cover as pretty as this one) and hadn't stopped. By this point she was half way through the book and sitting corss-legged on the floor of the library. Andy view of her was obstructed by the book cases, not that she would have cared or noticed really. She was far too into the world of Cascading Dragons by Beatrice Flamme.

The story was just getting good what with the Princess Ellyanya going to a ball hosted by Prince Morgavik. Suddenly, that idea brought Lola out of her trance. Ball? Why did that sound so important? Oh! Oh no! The gala! She had gone and read past the time to begin the gala! How could she forget? Frowning slightly, she placed the book back on the shelf and hastily flicked her wand to change her dress to the one her best friend Luca had picked out the night before. As a second thought, not quite feeling confident enough about her arms yet, she added a black cardigan.

So, away she was headed when she discovered two girls in the empty library. Shouldn't the also be at the gala? The way the one was dressed certainly suggested it. So, in an effort to make nice and be social, Lola approached the table, her hands clasped behind her back, and a soft blush on her cheeks. "Are. Um. You guys going to the gala? We could walk together...if you want."

Galen Williams
Galen didn't look away from Amelia as she spoke, always the active listener. It was just the way he was. He didn't ever want someone to feel like he wasn't listening to them, so he always gave his undivided attention. "A procrastinator? Hard to beleive, really. What with just how bright you are. Though, I've never thought that getting work done early was equivalent to intelligence, you know. It's more a matter of preference. The faster I get my business done, the more free time I have when other's are geting hectic. It keeps me stressfree. But, I'm rambling."

Galen followed Amelia's gaze over to Seraphine and gave a knowing laugh. "She's something that one. But I agree. Best to keep her sweet. So why don't we go with something along the lines of....The Weird Sisters?" To be fair, it was the only wizard music group that Galen knew. But he wasn't about to admit that. At least not in this moment. "At least until the night is less young, and then we can sully it with something riskier." He winked then, not flirtatiously, but more conspiratorially.

Alex Blaise

"Granted, it was not my best." Alex chuckled heartily at Eva, adjusting his tie in the process. "But believe me when I say it works." For him, it really do works. Sweet and casual talking at first, followed by his signatured charming dimpled smile. Most of the girls are putty in his hands if he sets his eyes on them. The blond finally nodded at Mateo, his fellow Gryffindor. "You know the muggle saying 'the early bird catches the early worm'?" Alex grinned, answering the prefect. "We're not that early. Besides, it is a great opportunity to scout the area and mark a target. Options are everywhere." He added, looking around with a smile for his potential 'sweetheart' for the night before stepping besides Mateo. "It's not everytime that everyone can be pretty, you know. Plus i've been dying to use my best line again."

Placing his one arm around Mateo, Alex used his free hand to tilt the other guy's chin so that he was facing him, their face only inches apart. "Hi, I'm Alex. From Gryffindor." he said. His green eyes were smoldering as he gaze at him, his smile were disarming and sexy. "Wanna hook up?"

Aria Delacour

"No, don't try it. Do it." Aria said with conviction. She decided that there'll be no more sitting in the corners and waiting onthe stands. It was time to act. Aria was actually surprised at her new found courage. She didn't know where it came from, probably from Preston, but she likes it. A small blush crept up on her face due from Preston's comment but the girl played it cool. "I said talk. I didn't know you need to single in order to have new friends." Aria smiled crookedly. "Besides, you declaring me as your date is just a back up plan. I'm your... muscle or your bouncer just in case." The girl smiled radiantly. Apparently she was convinced that she can easily fight someone off without getting in trouble. "Or yeah, your back up date if you ever need one." Aria added, still smiling genuinely.

"Oho!" Aria exclaimed after Preston set her terms, a wide smile was on her face as she brushed her shoulder against hers. "You're on. It's a deal, Walker " she added haughtily. Even though she wasn't sure if she can go through the night, the idea of having a one year free supply of her Sugar Quills is one hell of a motivation. "Just so you know. I won't feel bad in getting my sweets from your pocket money." Aria said teasingly.

Jessamine Rose
The faintest of smiles pulled at Jessa's expression upon hearing Francesca's words. It appeared she had indeed found what people would call a "kindred spirit". She, too, was fascinated by people and behaviors, though she failed to comprehend them on her own. A fellow classmate once called her a robot. Instead of being offended, Jessa found herself more amused with the name, believing it to be a mostly accurate representation of how she came off to people. She was, after all, a being of logical if nothing else.

"I imagine people find me intolerable as well. I can't be sure, though, as I can never truly tell," she confessed. "In regards to the gala, it seemed very... trite to tell the truth."

Her introduction warranted a nod form Jessa. While she had never officially been acquainted with Francesca, she had heard her name and seen her on occasion. "I am Jessa. Jess Rose."

The sound of an unfamiliar voice caused Jessa to momentarily tense. She had not expected yet another person to be within the vicinity. As quickly as the smile appeared, it reverted back to a thin line. Her eyes surveyed the girl, deciding that she was no threat to the peace of the library and the tiniest of smiles began to grace her features once more. The girl seemed friendly.

"I've just come from the gala," she blurted. "I do not know if it is in my best interest to return."

Her hazel eyes fluttered between the two girls curiously, wondering if she had responded properly.

Emerson Albrecht
Emerson glided up to the other side of the bike and wiped away remnants of dirt from its exterior. She had longed to get the motorcycle airborne for so long that the desire had manifested as ache in the pit of her stomach, a sensation she was feeling even more with Omar beside her. And, truthfully, she could imagine showing her creation to no one better than him.

His surprise caused her to laugh. "In fact, I mean exactly that."

She trailed a finger along the leather of the seat, her eyes surveying Omar's handsome features. A gentle smirk tugged at her lips.

"I know that I quoted Aladdin earlier, but unfortunately I can't promise any magic carpet rides... What do you say to possibly taking this thing out for a spin with me?"

Veda Gupta
Veda had been doing what she did best: make up stories about those surrounding her. The pretty boy everyone knew as Midas, she pictured that he was acutally really sleazy and he was just waiting to pull the flighty girl next to him into his web of lies. Hmmm. Maybe it wasn't so fun to do this with people she sort of knew. Because then she would just have a bad taste in her mouth when she thought of them. Then again, she was pretty much dangerously close to that now. It was her one and only negative attribute.

False, but that's what she was telling herself today. She was currently making her way over to the last open table, which was by two girls that seemed to be in conversation about the cat. Who knew. She didn't And she didn't care. False. But that's what she was telling herself anyway. That happened a lot, telling herself a lot of lies. But it at least kept her mind entertained. Not much else did. As she neared, she couldn't help but overhear their sarcasm, and a reluctant smile touched her features, and she actually couldn't suppress a laugh! Who could with that wonderfully crafted sarcasm? But she was immediately embarrassed and didn't know what to do from that point. She was hardly social, but n order to save face she would need to introduce herself. Nah. Better to just let them approach her if they had a problem. So, instead, like the awkward doof she was, Veda stood uncomfortably close to them, staring at the cat in sheer panic.

Arwen Cross
"Non, monsieur! You may not - Harvey! Put that back!" She shouted in her sleep before she found herself abruptly waking up, nearly falling off of the bench. "W-whoa!" The young woman muttered to herself, trying to keep her balance as the book Flesh-Eating Trees of the World fell off her lap. Although the young girl didn't need to read the text until her sixth year, Arwen couldn't help but find herself wanting to be ahead and learn more about how to treat different plants and use them in everyday life. Nevertheless, as Arwen shook her head, trying to get any cobwebs off of her and to wake herself up, her eyes turned towards the balcony opening as she looked towards the sky. It was dark and Arwen couldn't help but sigh peacefully. She always liked looking at the star-lit sky.

However, hearing music in the corridors, Arwen, looked down below, squinting down as she saw people dressed in formal attires. Blinking, Arwen tilted her head to the side, wondering why they were so dressed up for. But, as soon she as wondered, the answer soon came to her like lightning speed. "The gala!" She exclaimed loudly, fumbling off the bench before tripping over thin air. Being on the ground was one thing, but seeing a spider crawl around across from you was another. With a loud squeal, Arwen jumped up on the bench, her hand against her chest as her heart beated rapidly against it.

But, at the corner of her eye, she heard one word phrases and a chitter noise. "Harvey!" She whispered loudly, wanting to catch the attention of the over-sized ferret only for Harvey to ignore her presence as he eyed the spider. Sighing, Arwen shook her head before getting off the bench wondering if her stepsiblings Varvara and Aleksei were looking for her or not. She did remember them talking about the gala, though her nose was stuck in the books.

Nevertheless, as Arwen picked up her book from the ground, she decided to head to the library to return the book she finished. As she made her way down the tower, Arwen couldn't help but walk quickly towards the library wanting to not be the center of attention as she was still in her school robes. But, what was she suppose to wear? It wasn't everyday she socialized, or rather wanted to. In fact, she wondered if she could skip it. . . but that would mean disappointing her siblings. Sighing to herself, Arwen had walked into the library, finding the area and row that the book should be placed in.

However, as Arwen turned the corner of the correct bookshelf, she was greeted by three others. Blinking back her surprise as she willed herself to not drop her book, Arwen could only let out a slight squeak hearing the end of the question that was directed to the girls before her. "S-sorry . . I sort of startled myself." She chuckled nervously, not wanting to butt into a conversation that she wasn't suppose to be a part of. "W-well . . um . ." Arwen quietly continued, "I . . came to drop this book back and. . well . it belongs to that shelf right there." She finished, pointing to the bookcase that was where the girls stood. However, before Arwen could hold back her tongue, she said spoke once more, "Your outfits. . it's so pretty!" Arwen softly whispered, slightly dazed.

Kyle Eun
Kyle grinned warmly pressing a soft kiss to the top of Seraphine's hand. "Flattery is not lacking in this friendship, I tell you that." He released her hand with a laugh. "I'd rather not imagine their greasy hands. I'll leave that all to you."

Kyle knew that Sera had an intended appearance she wanted to uphold for herself throughout the night, but seeing her smile genuinely... He couldn't get enough of it; her eyes twinkling and her smile just as gorgeous as the rest of her. It wasn't long before he was laughing along with her. "Of course you have fun. You're the one who plans all these events, and I doubt you would be doing it if you didn't enjoy it. I'm just saying, enjoying your work as much as you enjoyed the process of creating it. Also, you can't not be fun with me and Ronan as your best friends."

Kyle swayed lightly along to the music as Sera spoke. "What would the world think if they knew that Seraphine Favager likes upbeat music rather than the funeral marches they're all so convinced us Slytherin lot have as our morning alarms? Scandalous." He held his hands up in surrender, "I wouldn't test my limits with you even if I wanted to. Plus, I think someone else has already beat me to the music." He gestured his head towards Amelia and Galen before adding on,

"Before the end of the night you need to dance with me, Miss Favager. I'll be whole-heartedly heartbroken, if you don't."

"If they didn't choose you, they'd be missing out insanely." Cam grinned giving Ezra a thumbs up back on his formal attire, her cheeks dusting a light pink from his compliment. "Thanks, I appreciate that." She replied, choosing to be serious rather than brushing it off with a joke like she would typically do.

"The horror indeed!" Cam laughed as she took a sandwich from the platter. "Well, now that we've finished up, they might start flooding over here if their stomachs get a word in on the matter." She took a bite of the sandwich, her eyes widening in awe. "You're cooking skills are the real magic at this school, Ezra. Teach me your ways."

Her attention was briefly drawn away from Ezra as a familiar beauty approached the two of them. "Is that my bestie Philomena wearing a dress, and looking absolutely smoking in it?" She smiled as she joined. "Hey, yourself." Cami nodded her head in agreement with Phil's compliment. "I know right!" She pushed her hair over her shoulder, pausing for a moment in thought. "Smorgasbord is such a weird word, guys..."

Jupiter Babineaux
Jupiter felt even worse after watching Lea's face fall. She felt like a terrible friend in that moment,, and even though Lea seemed to get over it relatively quickly after she apologized, Juju still felt bad. Jupiter twisted her hair around her finger, smiling weakly at Lea. "I know, I know, I'll have fun. I don't know why I always get psyched up before any kind of social event; it usually goes away right when I arrive."

Jupiter smiled at the mention of Ilvermorny. "I went there for my first year before transferring to Hogwarts with Ezra. I wonder if we had ever crossed paths with you..."

When Lea conjured the dress that Jupiter was to wear to the party. For a moment she found herself just staring at it. "Are you serious about letting me wear that?" She asked in surprise. "It- It's amazing, Lea... Will I even have enough boob to fill the front of this?" She asked with a laugh grabbing the dress from her friend. "Oh! Jupiter you're going to look so pretty in that color!" Jupiter smiled at Tempest giving her a small "Thank you" in response. Using her wand, Jupiter put on the dress and stared at herself in the mirror. "This is such a gorgeous dress, Lea," She breathed in awe. Her attention was quickly diverted at the sound of Tempest letting out a frustrated screech.

The girl turned to the direction of her roommate in concern as she heard her ranting while she sifting through her closet. A moment later the girl reappeared and waved herself into her outfit for the night."Thoughts? I know it's a little revealing, but I thought I would try something new?" "It's hot." Jupiter replied honestly. "The Temptress Tempest of the night," She added on.

Erika Estes
Erika paused... "That... is a very true and valid statement." Erika avoided doing math with practically every bone in her body. Her eyes widened at Dax's manical laughter. Slowly, she took a half step back. "Oh shit, did you break Daxie?" She snorted. "Even a shitfaced Favager would be hot as hell, Dax; I feel she'd get even more batso and uptight if she got wasted. Now, a drunk Calhoun, I'd pay to see that asshole get off his face. I'd tape it and send it to all the pureblood fmilies," she snorted. seepatting Dax's shoulder.

"Spicy! Spicy? Oh my god Riki, did you just lost all of your brain cells at once? What a stupid thing to call her!" Erika stuck her tongue at Dax, flipping him the bird. "Fuck you, Dax, I stand by my statement. If Mette were a food, she'd be sweet and spicy chicken... Or maybe she'd be sweet and spicy tea; that's a thing, you know."

Erika stared wide-eyed at Dax after Francesca exited the room. "You've probably just sealed your death. You better watch your back around her, Daxie." "Let's go get that stash. I left it behind a loose brick in my dorm. There's like a whole cubby in there....and as for the girlfriend thing...I'll think about it." Erika groaned loudly, stalking after Dax as they made their way down the hall. "You couldn't have accio'd it? I want to head down to the party and stuff my face before the Great Hall really starts to fill up. I want to be feeling pleasantly full when I start making my rounds flirting, not like a grouncy tank on E." Erika opened up Dax's dorm, gesturing for him to head inside. "I see Ainsley actually decided to do his prefect duties." She mused heading inside and plopping down on the nearest bed.
