Showcase wisteria's character dump ✩°̥࿐୨୧

It's funny. Dragons are always illustrated as greedy, yet I've never met anyone more greedy and distasteful than a human.
Astrid
Name:
Astridius Vervosa Drakongardh
(Astrid to those close to her)

Race:
Dragon (Celestial Type)

Age:
20 years old

Appearance:
As a younger dragon, Astrid's dragon form is noticeably smaller than most. As a young adult, she is slightly taller than that an average human. For reference, at the start of the story, she is a size 7 but towards the end, she can grow to a size 6 (refer to the dragon size chart below). Her "scales" are wispy and seemingly blend into the night sky when she flies, with wings that seem like neverending aurora borealis that flow outwards. The only part of her body that look like noticeable scales are the scales on her chest plates and limbs.

When shifted into humanoid form, her skin tone is a hazy blue that mirrors the color of her scales. Her hair is a bundle of silvers, blues, and purples that blend together to look like strands of galaxies. She is at a tall height of 6'7 which upholds her natural strength and has a slender build. Astrid's eyes are purple with a slight shift to blue when facing light.

Mana:
Cosmic Mana
Astrid's Cosmic Mana allows herself to alter the properties of stars to use for protection. She is able to summon stars from the sky and change their properties (size and temperature) for how she sees fit, such as raising them to extremely hot temperatures to explode or super low temperatures to the point where they harden. She can launch them like explosives when hot or like cannons when cold. Astrid is also able to alter the size of the star, but this will depend on her strength. Because she's young, she isn't able to make the stars larger than a bowling ball. If she tries to exceed, then this will deplete much of her power and stamina. Her second ability given from the mana is that she's able to use the constellations and manipulate them to form a specific trajectory that will allow her to release propulsions of starlight, similar to a laser/sniper. Her accuracy and control aren't quite strong, but as she grows she has the potential to become more advanced.

Gear:
Astrid's gear is an armored dress weaved from a mix of scales and constellations that allow for protection and flexibility. Her armored plates on her dress and headpiece are made out of melted meteor rubble mixed with a powerful metal. The dress starts off as a deep galaxy purple but then fades into an almost translucent midnight blue that's dazzled in stardust.

Brief history:
Astrid comes from a line of Celestial Dragons that typically dwell among the stars and galaxies. However, her lineage is very rare even among other species of Dragons and thus became a prized target of mass hunting from humans. Astrid was raised by her mother, Iridessa, who quickly became one of the very few remaining Celestial Dragons due to hunts. One day, while Astrid and her mother were quietly resting in Wækah land while hunting for food, an injured human suddenly approached them and asked for healing. Iridessa was cautious, however, she was also very compassionate. She could sense that the human was hurt. The human didn't seem to carry any weapons, nor did anyone else approach them so her mother didn't find any harm. Iridessa's mother had an affinity for healing so she decided to use some of her power to aid him. However, after he was healed the human suddenly sent out a flare. All of a sudden a huge troop of humans appeared, and Astrid was struck by a large weapon that they released, causing her to let out an agonized scream. When Iridessa quickly realized that they were targeting her child, she became enraged and began fighting against the humans. However, the humans managed to gain the upper hand. Iridessa was able to hold off the humans away from her daughter, but she was reaching exhaustion from using strenuous amounts of power. She looked back at her child and gave her an assuring nod, signaling for her to go. Astrid widened her eyes, but due to fear she closed them tightly and flew off. The last thing she remembered was hearing her mother’s roar and the deafening shouts of the humans who continued to attack her.

When Astrid reached a safe spot at the highest peak of a nearby mountain, she turned back to look at the battlefield. It was quiet, and there was no movement. Many of the humans had fallen, but she couldn't find her mother anywhere. Her eyes darted back and forth among the area, trying to find a glimpse of Iridessa so that she could reunite with her but her body couldn't be found. Suddenly she noticed a strange movement from below and looked down. Her eyes widened in shock when she saw the horrifying sight of the humans carrying parts of her mother's fallen body in different carts as they made their way back home. In their eyes, they were successful. But in Astrid's, she had lost her only family. They had killed her. The humans had managed to hunt down the elusive Celestial Dragon, and now they were going to hang her head as a trophy. Breathing heavily, Astrid clutched onto the ledge in disbelief and sorrow. She hated the humans for killing her only family, she hated her mom for choosing to sacrifice herself instead of fleeing, but most of all...Astrid hated that she wasn’t powerful enough to protect her. Her grief had turned into mixture of sadness and hatred as she stared down at the gleeful humans. Disdainful creatures who held no remorse for any species but themselves. That was the day Astrid learned that humans were dangerous and could never be trusted, no matter how nice or harmless they seemed.

Contract:
Unaffiliated.

ersonality.

If people could describe Ayura in one word, it would be bold. She was always the one student in high school who would constantly challenge the dress code and was never apologetic for what she wore or how she acted. Ayura has an aura around her that always exuded confidence and assurance. It was obvious she was the type who would never back away from defending herself and she always managed to get a word in whether she was welcomed to or not. Ayura loves all things that are glamorous and never fails to keep up with the latest trends, if not being a trendsetter herself. She can be rash and act without properly analyzing the situation, but one thing you can never deny is that she will always have your back no matter what.

Ayura never really had a tough childhood. As an only child, she was the object of her parents' affections and never endured any kind of hardships. She was always healthy, always eating well, and always playful so it became a huge concern when Ayura had suddenly contracted a mysterious illness that seemed to come out of nowhere. She didn't remember what age she was when it happened...actually she hardly remembered anything about that time at all. All she remembered was just feeling so fatigued and never being able to breathe properly. According to her parents, the illness was so severe that she had to be bedridden in the hospital for two and a half weeks. After the end of the first week, Ayura had to be moved to a new room that had other child patients inside because the room she was in could no longer be reserved for her due to the hospital's patient occupancy running high.

When she was discharged, it was as if her body chose to snap back to normal on its own. No doctors could explain it. It was as if a strange phenomenon had overcome her and left. However, her parents didn't seem to pay it any mind as they were just glad that their little girl survived and came out okay. Since then, Ayura continued to live a normal life and enjoyed the rest of her adolescence until she entered her second year of college and another phenomenon happened again...

Please allow me, it's no problem at all. -Hotaru
1649220963883-png.973760

Full Name: Tsukishima Hotaru

Age: 16

Written Name: 月島蛍 (might be incredibly wrong, relied on google lol)

Hair: Black

Eye Design: Red

Extra Markings or Accessories: Flower hairpin

Haori Design: Hotaru's haori is black with silk red flower accents sewn on.

Leg Wrapping Design: Black that fades to a red, the same red shade as the flowers.

Chosen Footwear: Black and red geta sandals

Chosen Breathing Technique: Shadow Breathing User

Nichirin Blade Color: Red

Personality: Hotaru is a demure, poised, and incredibly dignified young lady who prefers to move in silence out of politeness. Although she rarely speaks, her presence is never missed due to the natural elegance that she exudes from years of working at her family's traditional tea house. She strives in being kind to anyone that comes her way, and will always try to accommodate others so that they can be their most relaxed around her, however....

The moment she gets hit during combat, all of that politeness is immediately thrown out the window and an entirely different persona comes out. She suddenly sports a brazen personality that holds incredible animosity, especially towards demons. Hotaru's polite speech turns into one of profanities and extremely cruel taunting. She will stop at no end to sadistically torture her enemies, and will even get pissed off if someone tries to stop her. Hotaru will continue to have this other persona until she either gets knocked out or falls asleep. When she wakes up, she'll have no remembrance of her rampage. (This persona can be referred to as Shadow Hotaru).

Background: Hotaru grew up in a household that farmed high-quality tea and often helped her mother perform tea ceremonies for guests and villagers. Her mother raised her incredibly hard to be a proper ceremonial tea hostess, which was eventually how her personality as a dignified, polite young lady came to be. Despite the hard training, Hotaru never felt like she had a bad childhood. Her mother was harsh but she was also kind along with her father who taught her how to spot quality tea leaves. She had an older brother who was part of the Demon Slayer corp. Because her brother was constantly out on missions, Hotaru rarely had time to spend with him except for the rare occasions when he would visit their estate. It is safe to assume that she had a peaceful life.

Unfortunately, that peaceful life was abruptly disrupted when Hotaru, her brother, and her father returned home from harvesting crops. When they were approaching the estate, the metallic smell of blood wafted in the air which caused Hotaru's father to be cautious. As they got closer, her father realized her mother's bloodied hand on the floor and saw a demon eating her lower torso. Instinctively, her father ran toward his wife but then was immediately killed due to the demon's Blood Demon Art. Hotaru remembered screaming and crying in distraught, and with her brother seeing this, he took out his nichirin and told her to run away. Refusing to lose her brother, Hotaru begged and pleaded to stay but to no avail. At the very least, she made him promise to return to her alive for assurance before she ran. Unfortunately, she would discover later that he was unable to keep that promise.

Currently Mastered Shadow Breathing Forms:
Shadow Breathing is a style of demon-slaying that derives from Moon Breathing. With this style, the user is able to manipulate shadows at will and use them for attacks that mainly circulate around agility, stealth, traps, or deadly strikes. There are seven known techniques, but as of right now Hotaru has managed to master three:

First Form - Darkness Barrage: Hotaru slips herself into surrounding shadows and uses them to swiftly jump around the opponent while attacking at max speed, treating the shadows as if they're like portals. This can cause confusion for the opponent because it's difficult to tell where she will emerge from. The more shadows there are, then the more leeways she has to attack the opponent. This attack is useful for wearing down the enemy.

Fourth Form - Nightmare Prison: Hotaru plunges her nichirin into the opponent's shadow which temporarily paralyzes them. When she pulls out her weapon, black misty chains emerge from the enemy's shadow and wrap themselves around its owner in vital areas for movement such as the neck, ribcage, and limbs. The chains get tighter and tighter until they eventually shred into the enemy's skin causing major damage.

Sixth Form - Thousand Shadow Moons: The most exhaustive form of them all, Hotaru jumps up and envelops her nichirin in darkness, spinning her body faster and faster until she creates a strong enough momentum that makes her look like a whirling shadow tornado. With this momentum and the added energy of the shadows, Hotaru then uses this to focus her attack on her opponent's neck and strikes, usually being the fatal blow.

Fun Facts:
  • Her brother's name was Tsukishima Hakutoku. His rank was Kanoe.
  • Hotaru carried on Hakutoku's breathing style. They are both Shadow Breathing users.
  • Shadow Hotaru's persona derives from the pent-up anguish that she felt when she lost her family. It's a way for her to cope.
  • She is skilled in many different areas as a result of her mother's training such as traditional dance, making tea, and making traditional Japanese wagashi (sweets) that pair well with her tea.
  • Her favorite food is daifuku.
  • Hotaru's voice is naturally mature and soft, but when she turns into Shadow Hotaru her voice noticeably deepens and has a more sadistic tone (she sounds like Esdeath from Akame ga Kill)

I must find her again....her.....who is her? -Hakuto
1649398949289-png.974329

Demon Name: Hakuto

Human Name: Tsukishima Hakutoku

Hair: Silver with one eye covered by his bangs, previously black when he was human

Eye Design: Dark blue with black scleras that appear to be blank with no pupils, originally red with white scleras

Skin Markings: Black patches of skin that strategically creep along his pale body.

Outfit: Hakuto is topless, but his body harnesses a strange, cage-like armor that wraps itself onto him. The armor is made out of crystallized shadow and is quite sturdy enough to cause damage to nichirin. The top half of the shadow armor wraps around his neck to protect it, and it's usually a hard feat if you were to try to pry it off of him.

Extra Accessories: Two horns emerging from his head that seem to always have a type of shadowy mist surrounding them.

Blood Demon Art - Shadow Crystallization: Hakuto's Blood Demon Art derives from his previous Breathing Style when he was a human. This technique allows him to manifest shadows into physically solidified forms and bend them to his will. He can use this in many ways, such as creating barriers or forming lethal spears that emerge from the shadows and lunge them at lightning speeds.

Personality: Hakuto has an apathetic, deadpan personality that's become a shell of his former self. He never has much to say, but when he does it usually relates to his strange urge to find someone. It's unknown what he's referring to, in fact, Hakuto doesn't really understand it well himself. It is just a forever itching feeling that there is someone he must return to which never seems to go away. Annoyed with being unable to understand where it comes from, he usually takes out his frustration on killing and devouring humans in the belief that it will fulfill the void.

Background: Hakuto was formerly an official member of the Demon Slayer Corp who was training to become one of the next Hashiras as a Shadow Breathing user. During his visit to his family and his hometown, which was a typically rare occasion, Hakuto went along with his father and sister to harvest some tea leaves for the season, leaving his mother at home to prepare dinner for when they returned. Upon arrival at the estate, there was a stench of blood that reeked throughout the building. It was a scent that was so strong, you could smell it from just approaching the gateway. When they entered they saw his mother's bloodied corpse being eaten by a demon who had broken in. Blinded by rage, Hakuto's father had already barged toward the demon without thinking, and the moment he set foot into the same room his body was instantly obliterated by the demon's Blood Demon Art. At the sight of her father's body splattered everywhere, his younger sister Hotaru began screaming and crying in both fear and anguish. Enraged by the killing of his parents, Hakuto readied his nichirin and began to set forth, but then he felt a smaller pair of hands pull him back by his uniform.

"Nii-san, please don't.....don't leave me alone! You're all I have left!"

The former Shadow Breathing user turned back to see his sister crying profusely at him, feeling her hand trembling as it desperately clutched onto the fabric of his coat. Hakuto's expression softened before he grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly, crouching down to her eye level. "I won't, I will return to you once I've made sure that our household is safe. There is no one else left to protect it, understand?" With a soft smile that would end up being his last, Hakuto stood up and faced his back towards her, readying his twin nichirins before getting into a readying stance, slowly starting to begin his Total Concentration breathing. "Ru-chan, run. You must go before it's too late."

Having to accept her brother's decision to stay, the younger sibling wiped her swollen eyes and turned around to face the entrance. She gave a last look to her brother, before speaking to him once again with a trembling voice. "You must promise that you'll return to me no matter what. If you don't, I will condemn you over and over again!" With those last words of hers being said, Hakuto watched his sister clenching a fist in anticipation before reluctantly sprinting away towards the neighboring forests that would keep her hidden throughout the night. Giving a small sigh of relief, the Shadow Breathing user turned his full attention back onto the demon and darkened his expression. "You will atone for your sins, you monster!"

While Hakuto was able to successfully kill the demon, the fight, unfortunately, left him in a near-death state. The demon was skilled no doubt and had definitely gotten the best of him. His body was laying on the floor with his eyes turned up to the ceiling, a soft hiss emitting from his lips in an effort to use his breathing to slow his increasing blood loss. One of his nichirins was next to his body on the floor while the other one was split in two by the hilt and the blade, but Hakuto didn't care about that. All he could think about was how apologetic he was for not being able to honor Hotaru's promise, wondering where she was now and pondering whether she was safe. Suddenly, a lone shadow crept over him. Hakuto couldn't exactly see the man's face because of the blurry vision from his eyelids slowly dropping, but all he could remember was a chilling voice that traveled along his spine.

"Ah, I see. So you managed to best my latest project after all, Demon Slayer...You know, it's a shame you are in this pathetic state. I'm sure you imagined that you could've done so much more had you continued to live as a human..."

The figure inched closer to Hakuto's face with a small chuckle, and upon this was when he realized that the mysterious person was actually Kibutsuji Muzan. However his body was too far gone to give any sort of reaction, he was simply forced to stare up at the Demon King's menacing eyes. Upon his nonreactive response, Muzan smirked and wounded himself, revealing his blood that began dripping down his arm. "I wonder how Ubuyashiki would react when he realizes that I've turned one of his precious children into my own...one of his precious little Hashiras in training..."

Hakuto could only emit a dry gasping response that signaled defiance, but he felt the metallic foul taste of his blood seeping into his mouth against his will. All he could remember was the burning pain he felt that seemed to blast every nerve in his body, it felt like a second death all over again. Every cell in his body felt like it was going to split in half, each one just continuing to multiply at an extremely fast rate that created harrowing bursts of pain all over. It was all he could feel before he closed his eyes and whispered his last words from the remnants of his humanity: "Hotaru....forgive me..."

Fun Facts:
  • Hakuto's past determination to become a demon slayer came from listening to stories from another demon slayer that he met when he was young
  • His mother was vehemently against him joining the Demon Slayer Corps while his father was very supportive
  • Shadow Breathing was a style that he adapted himself because he couldn't find a fit with any of the currently existing forms
  • His favorite food is his sister's homemade treats, specifically sakura mochi, and his favorite drink is his family's homemade matcha
  • Hakuto prefers to target his prey when they're asleep, as it is less work and allows for swift kills
  • His voice is low and also soft. Think Arima Kousei from Your Lie In April.
