Medieval, but not really "fantasy"


Where would you put a roleplay with lower than modern technology, but without any magic or other supernatural elements.

Hello there, I'm glad you asked! The types of roleplays you've listed would all go under Modern. You see, the full name of the section is "Realistic & Modern". Historical and period drama stories qualify as realistic. For paranormal and supernatural stories, you could still choose Modern, or you could choose Fantasy. That's a creative choice you'll have to make as GM based on what themes you want to emphasize in your roleplay.

Usually we recommend that people pick their genre based on setting, too, particularly if their game could fall into multiple genres. A sci-fi setting with a few magical elements would thus fall under sci-fi, not fantasy, and vice versa.
