Welcome to the Jungle [Dreams of the Third Age]

The Abyssal lands on the mentioned platform with no sound being made as his feet touch the surface, his black wings taking on the motion and shape of a ragged cape once more. He gallantly motioned for Suhiko to show the path to the underground, a look of mischief in his deep crimson eyes. "Lead the way"

Azure Crow follows behind Suhiko and the Count from a distance on his own Coatl, landing shortly after the two do on the platform. As he begins to follow the two, a visible ripple in the world echoes his every step. It begins strongly as reality bends and the threads of the Loom part to accept his passage, but within moments, the ripples dissipate into nothingness, leaving no trace of his existence whatsoever to any being less enlightened than he.

Activating Walking Outside Fate for 5m peripheral, 1wp. Sidereals-specific anima banner is at the 4-7m level. I neglected to mention earlier that Crow does have Prior Warning up at the moment.

As they close in on the platform, Suhiko jumps from the couatl's back and the spirit shapeshifts into a radiant parrot with squawk. The solar calls forth her golden blade from Elsewhere and proceeds to lead her fellow Exalts into the Great Pyramid of the Sun. The corridors are dark, the only light coming from the rising sun on her forehead, but with every step the feeling of being home grows in her mind. She knows these halls and chambers, she knows every nook and cranny, she knows the secret ways and the hidden rooms. Her steps lead them quickly downwards and inwards, she is alert keeping an eye on the caches the former holder of her Exaltation had sequestered away.

In one of the secret chambers, that Filial Wisdom never had the chance to inspect. Our group of exalts found something unexpected. Apparently a dragon king encased in a strange timeless state, as if he was put on statis. The dragon king is bulkier than the scrawny creatures running around the place and appears to be adorned with many fine items and fabrics. He probably expected nobody to find him around here.

Suhiko steps forward, letting her blade hang low. "Do you think we should try waking this creature?" She says to both her companions and the ancient queen in her mind. She raises her hand and brushes it down the the Dragon King's casing.

"Thank you Renna and Xentair for your assistance. I will share more information with you shortly but the goblin king has sent a hail of arrows to kill us. *her eyes turn bright green* Estimated time of arrival of the barrage is six minutes. I advise you to use the Celestial Gateway behind you to return Isli to Yushan. Once we are inside the celestial city we will travel to the Rathess gate and repay the Goblin King for his temerity. I will fill you in on all details of Hecate enroute"

Alexandra then snaps her fingers, summoning the calibration gate behind Xentair and Renna. She quickly motions to her crew to fly the ship through the gate with them.

using the Key resplendency power to summon the calibration gate. yay sidereal bullshit for uniting the party

The Count stared at the sleeping visage of the Dragon King in stasis, thin tendrils of black shadow crawling from the ground and up towards the delicate case in which the creature rests. "How peaceful, no idea that it's home is broken, it's kin dead, mad and forgotten."

From the interior of the shadows, where the vague shape of his arm is visible, a spear of steel as dark as the void materializes, filling the room with a cold and dread almost tangible. The Count raises his weapon slightly, with the edge pointed at the heart of the creature, the only thing separating the two is a thin crystalline wall. "We could let him enjoy of an eternal slumber, but.... Crow responds poorly at the sight of blood, faintish creature that he is." With a flick of his wrist the spear dissolves into the shadows it came from.

With an obvious teasing smirk, the Count steps away from the stasis pod, his gaze back into the tunnels of the pyramid and away from Suhiko and the Dragon King.

"It's your decision to make Lawgiver, do as you wish with the creature..."

@ship

Moor waits till Alexandra finishes her speech and makes bow in direction Xentar, Renna and Isli.

"My name is Moor and I'm most famous for .. well noting really"

Then look at Alexandra

"You say there are arrows incoming within minutes? Wow.. nice trick. If you allow I will move under cover since screaming and dying is not my thing."

And moves under some cover perhaps stays in doors leading to some part of this ship (if rest of the party stays in the open space).

  • Waking up the sleeping dragon king would require a minimum of Lore 3, Medicine 2, Occult 2. Attempt to wake him up is a Intelligence+lore difficulty 3.

Intelligence+Past life roll can be used to substitute all the above requirements.

Xentair nodded at Moor's arrival before scanning both people present with his charms. He narrowed his eyes at Moor's scan results.

"Moor, Drop the disguise. Now." Xentair frowned, "Or do I have to rip it off you?"

The sudden change in the tone of Xentair's voice sends a chill up Renna's spine. She fingers her warfans in anticipation of a fight. "You'd better do what he says. He has anger management problems when he doesn't get what he wants."

Syrenica was most interested in the one that followed her around the camp and for that she did give him the most enticing dance. Once the camp was on the move she returned to Viktor's side silent and watchful. She took the trip relatively mostly in silence, and every so often she would, seemingly at random, disappear into the jungles. Luckily for both her and any would be threats she found none the entire way. Just before the first of Rakshi's forces were found Syrenica returned just as silently and content as she had left, appearing near Viktor as if she were a shadow rising from the jungle's darkness. She giggled to herself as she thought this at least.

With the beastmen there she gives Garj an appraising look before raising an eyebrow and glancing to the camp's leader. "They sent a General to entreat with you it appears."

Suhiko closes her eyes for a moment, and when she opens them again, a subtle change comes over her. Her back is straighter, her arms seem stronger and her step back more imperious. The difference is minute, but noticeable to the trained eye, as if a skilled amateur has been replaced with a lifelong professional. "We will set him free," she says with a different accent than she has spoken so far, more easterly, perhaps even native to Rathess. She raises the Cry That Wakes The World above her head and brings it arching down. With a clear, ringing sound, cracks spread throughout the Dragon King's crystal casing. The mighty dawn lets her blade rest on the floor once more and with a single rap of her left hand, makes the crystal shards fall to the floor and awakens the ancient from its slumber.

Int+Lore+Past Life, and a stunt mayhaps

A Bulky lizard looking like man wakes up from the statis. Wielding what appears to be artifact weapons and clear intelligence in his opening eyes. He glances at the people present in the room, as if expecting someone else. He stands seven feet tall, swaying his tail around.

He speaks in Old Realm at the group present. The dragon king appeared to have a couple of questions on his own.

"It looks like the resuscitation protocol wasn't a success, if someone had to wake me up. You are wearing the crown of the thunder but I don't recognize your face. I'm Raoh, where are the others and who are you? I have to gather the troops."

1 die stunt from earlier. [/ooc]

"I am Suhiko, this is Azure Crow and you may refer to our dark friend as the Count. I am not sure which others you are referring to, but the only troops we have seen in Rathess so far are goblins. When did you enter statis, and who are the others you refer to?"

The Count looked at the Dragon King from the corner of his eyes, his arms crossed and leaning towards one of the walls as the sleeper took breath once more. "The lizard lives..." The mockery of his tone obvious to everyone present.

"Goblins? last time that I recall going into statis because of a great plague which infected most of the population and some of my people started acting like savages. I and a couple of others went into statis for 2 or 3 centuries to be ready to face back against such threats. There was no need to bring your entourage around these parts."

As Raoh advances forward to take a look outside of his room.

Anybody with lore 2+, can easily tell that the infamous great contagion happened at least more than seven centuries ago.

"That was more than seven centuries ago, Roah. The Contagion was followed by a Faerie invasion which was ended when a dragonblooded officer took control of the Sword of Creation and used its power to defeat them. Rathess is a veritable ruin now, ruled by Han-Tha and a solar who serves his will."

"Fairies took over and Rathess is in ruins? Unacceptable. You are heading toward the underways? We should journey down there together and then I'll go look for my brothers." Raoh walked down the tunnel , knowing his way around the pyramid. The dragon king didn't wait for any kind of confirmation. He reached a platform and waited for the others to get there before going down toward the underways.

"There is a solar down there who has had more than a century to hone his skills and learn your city," Suhiko says as she starts following the Dragon King, "you may want to wait for the rest of us before charging ahead."

Crow watched Suhiko release the ancient Dragon King with an expression of wonder. The ancient Solars of the First Age had invented something capable of temporarily ceasing the grip of Saturn on beings encased that device. It was clearly worthy of intense study for his fellows within the Bureau of Secrets, and would have been kept quite safe - had the young Dawn not shattered the front of the device to free the Dragon King within. Making a mental note to discipline Suhiko on this later, he observed her interactions with the ancient being now conscious before them.

"Can you see me, old one?" he asked the Dragon King. "You have slept long. I have much to tell you."

Anyone with an Essence greater than Crow's score of 5 can see him, despite Walking Outside Fate being active. Anyone else cannot and can only surmise a presence that might be him if they pass the requisite Awareness roll.

I'm making the assumption that this extends all the way to his own speech and actions, provided they don't interact with the surroundings in a way that someone would normally notice (e.g. breaking a vase, they would see the broken vase). As a result, Suhiko will probably observe the DK and maybe the Count speaking to someone who isn't there :P .

By the time the army pulls out, Syrenica's escort is totally enamored of her, to the gentle teasing of his brother and sister who also serve the Emperor. None of the army's scouts ever spot her until she allows them to.

With the beastmen there she gives Garj an appraising look before raising an eyebrow and glancing to the camp's leader. "They sent a General to entreat with you it appears."
"Capital. I trust you will accompany me to the meeting? He gathers Syrenica and his bodyguards Marsihu, Musakith, and Miyamisk, as well as Captain Schmidt the Younger, first officer of the troops, and goes to meet this General Garj.

Despite the crude surroundings, he arrives with all the pomp he can muster, which is quite a bit. He looks the beastman General and his own entourage up and down with aristocratic reserve, and nods coldly. "I am Viktor Vlastislav Konrad Mikhailas Xavier von Drakholdt, lord of the Draconian Empire, formerly known as the Hundred Kingdoms. General Garj, I presume? Has your mistress given you authority to treat, or simply to convey her peer to her?"

Raoh looks at Suhiko. "A century old solar, I might not be a match to him indeed but I can certainly navigate in the underways and find my colleagues. The quicker that I would get them out of their chamber, the better."

"What an odd question, We will talk later about a history lesson." As the dragon king crosses his arms.

"I'm the one in charge of this region. I can send scouts if needed to relay any messages, if it is worthy enough of her time." As the ape beastman simply stares at all the men gathered around here and appears to be doing a headcount of the soldiers that he can see.
