Backstory

Backstory (involves events in current lives):


Valerian is the daughter of Gale and Peter Johnson, sibling of Hannah Johnson, both Gale and Peter are successful business people who never let work get in the way of their darling daughters. So the first few years of her life were pretty good, she was close with her older sister, was very open and happy. But, it took an unfortunate turn when her ,other and sister were killed in a car accident, a collision with a 18 wheeler. Her father was heartbroken, but she was devastated. She had lost two of the most important people in her life, and her only friend.


In school after the incident, if anyone mentioned her sister or mother, she'd burst out in tears, which made her a target for bullies. This went on for years until she fought back. She accidentally beat another kid into a coma, broke one's jaw and broke the third one's leg. Luckily for her, that was the day her and her father moved. She thought it'd be ok, but, someone had heard about what she did, and she became a feared outcast. In middle school is when the cutting started, she felt as if it was the only was out of some of the pain. And after abut a year of this, she became numb. Numb to just about anything. This caused her to build the wall around herself, and lash out a people who ticked her off.

Backstory:


Peter was born to a lower-middle-class family in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Peter’s father was a mechanic and his mother was an elementary school teacher, and they lived a happy if frugal life together.


Just a few months ago, however, their quaint little family life was shattered: a hurricane hit the city, their house left in ruin in its wake. Peter and his father were at home that day, and they barely made it out of the house alive. Unfortunately, his father did not make it much further; an uprooted tree slammed into his back, impaling him on a branch right before Peter’s very eyes. This was by far the worst string of bad luck Peter had ever encountered, of course, but it was by no means the first.


Peter always felt he was cursed with bad luck. He was short and scrawny throughout elementary school, and often the target of the schoolyard bullies. They were so used to tormenting him, and he to being tormented, that it continued even after he caught up in middle school, reaching a fairly average height and build. It always seemed that, no matter how many different routes he took to school, he would inevitably run into some nemesis or another a few times a week.


Peter often used to joke with his friends- the other bully magnets who didn’t really have anything to lose by hanging out with THE bully magnet- about the things he would change once he ruled the world. Bullies would all be imprisoned, nobody would go hungry, girls would be required to wear yoga pants on Fridays, etc.


After the storm finally calmed, Peter and what remained of his family moved far away, leaving their old hometown behind. Peter would have been ecstatic to leave, had his father still been alive to go with them. Soon after he came to this new area, something strange began to happen: The Evil King within him began to awaken.


The Evil King’s penchant for destruction and death have fused with Peter’s previous morals and convictions, drastically changing the boy’s personality. He now plans to conquer the world and eradicate all of the evil (other than himself of course) permanently. He will let nothing stand in the way of his goal, even if his enemies are not evil themselves.
