Futuristic Voids Call - Lore

Jet

Uncultured
The year is 3482.

The story begins far off from Sol (earth system) in a massive space station in neutral space named "The Capital" a gathering point for the galactic council and government, where issues of the highest importance are discussed, where negotiations are held and laws are passed into effect. The council is spearheaded by the Vansu, the oldest of the civil races, and the most intelligent, long since merged with machine.

The council also includes humans. Humanity in the 35th century is fractured, but still powerful.

There are two human empires. The Terren Union and the Federation of Free Worlds each is represented in the council. The Union is an Oligarchy, existing for over a thousand years, it's government far removed from the people, leadership ancient and wealthy humans with artificially extended lives, controlling the Union for hundreds of years before death.

Meanwhile the FFW is s a coalition of "Free Worlds" that share military/govt/taxes while everything else, laws included, vary wildly from planet to planet. It is but 40 years old, established in a five year civil war that saw millions dead, so there's a tangible animosity between the two empires.

As far as power/culture.

The FFW has about 40% of the old human empire. The Union has the 60%. The Union is more affluent and owns "Sol" (earth solar system) but the FFW is more adaptable and efficient and owns most of the outer colonies where natural resources are plentiful. The FFW has an independent, freewheeling but sometimes lawless atmosphere, while the Union is old; old money, old traditions, pretentious but super affluent and experienced.

There are three other races that I have written in. Any others can be created by you as a member or me later on in the RP. These races all have council seats.

Firstly, Scaleskin, the name was at one point used as an insult but it was embraced, becoming the public name for the species (they call themselves something different) This race is extremely territorial, but only in a defensive manner. In their history they have never declared war first and have never perminantly conquered a planet held by another race. Invaders however, are generally dealt with in swift and brutal fashion as their planets are fortress worlds with hundreds of orbital defense batteries, surface to space defenses and the most durable ships in the galaxy, if not the most offensively or aesthetically gifted.

The feline Vossmir are the next race. I will be RPing as a Vossmir. This race is the youngest among council members. The Vossmen are considered savages by some, only space fairing because of another race, named the "Kinder".

Some one thousand years ago, the space fairing Kinder found the Vossmir home world, their technology on par with early 20th century western Europe. Because of this wide gap in technology, the Voss were subjugated, used as slave labor and front line combatents, suffering for hundreds of years until the "Uprising" where Vossmir across Kinder space united, using knowledge gained through osmosis to operate Kinder ships, and use Kinder weapons.

Due to their physical advantages against the Kinder they overwhelmed them in close combat, boarding their ships in space, pushing the pace aggressively on the ground, winning decisively, assuming control of Kinder space, driving their oppressors from their homeworlds, killing those who remained in a genocide called the "Great Vengence" an act frowned upon by much of the civilized galaxy.

Since then, in the last few hundred years, the Vossmir have become a troublesome presence in the galaxy, one that actively seeks reason for war in order to expand. They are some of the best ship builders in known space and are gifted combatents but they lack well rounded technology, specifically in quality of life categories like medical care as most Vossmir tax revenue goes to defense spending.

The next canon species is the Gaido, a lizard race known as brilliant bankers and businessmen/women. This race is one of the most affluent in the galaxy, able to sell rocks to a quarryman. They don't possess a high level of intellect compared to a race such as the Vansu, but they do have a charisma and cleverness about them that makes them extremely capable negotiators and salespeople. Their charisma is literally a genetic adaptation, being rather charming, funny, engaging, witty. On the darker end, this makes them excellent scammers and con-artists.

Their empire is small but one of the best developed and most tasteful in terms of natural/artifical balance. Their military presence is minimal compared to other races but their bank accounts dwarf many of these same rivals. To a point where they could hire another civilization to fight for them, or hire a swarm of mercanary groups. Thus, they find a way through the chaos untouched.

Servitors, there are 20 on board the Blade, each one identical in every way. The Servitors handle basic maintenance, cleaning, cooking, and other mundane tasks. They can also serve in limited combat roles if the ship board A.I is given the proper override codes by either Naiva or Lee. They are, in no way, A.I and cannot speak beyond basic replies to command such as "Understood" or "Cannot, system compromised" etc.

Charlotte, the ship-board A.I, Charlotte has no physical form and doesn't appear on any view screens or hopo projectors. She is a disembodied voice that can listen to requests anywhere on the ship and provide input. She is a true A.I and will spark conversations/debate with, learn about and advise crew members. Her voice is the stereotypical "Computer woman" found in 90% of science fiction.
