β β˜†Zuri, as usual, woke up feeling awful and ignored it. Even though she was probably close to blacking out and not ever getting up again, she grabbed her backpack and cockily walked into town. There was a famers market, a perfect opportunity to do plenty of stealing and reselling. And Zuri planned to do just that while pretending to not have a care in the world.β˜†

Oneshot #1
Untitled design (2).png

The farmers market was bustling per usual as two siblings weaved their way through the crowds of shoppers. The older sibling, a young girl with raven hair, held her satchel close to her chest, eyeing the bypassers wearily. Unlike her deceased sister, she was scared of being pick pocketed, she did not want to live the main character life, and she did not care if the person was a street rat.

'I don't want to die because some random tries to take from my bag,' she thought to herself as her brother tugged her arm. "Ronnie!"

The little boy huffed in exasperation, not knowing why he was brought to the market. His sister had told him to come with, supposedly because Elijah was busy learning about jewelry with Isagani. Honestly, the boy would have rather listened to his brother ramble about his infatuation with the unique girl they had stumbled upon, but it seemed Isa thought thousand-year-old rings were more important. Xander didn't understand the thing with some old rings. It wasn't like they were magic.

Still, knowing that Zuri, who he considered his friend, might possibly be out stealing again, Xander came with slight reluctance. The other part of him was cool with it.

Dang yours are so long and well written 😭

β˜†Zuri found a building, luckily with a medal ladder, and climbed almost all the way up it. Just enough to keep hidden, but also to get a good view of the marker below. Zuri smirked to herself, but also felt the bitter scrapping inside of her of the unforgiving loneliness she usually felt. But like most things, she ignored it and pulled all her attention to something else.

Today that something else was stealing.

Once she had a good view, Zuri climbed down and wearily hit the floor. Things felt harder and slower today, and even though they usually did, the awful feelings didn't exactly help.

Bruh, thank youuu. I feel like our second oneshot should be, like, and AU where Lael is alive and the world is good. Just to take a break from angst or something. πŸ˜‚

"W-what?" Veronica stuttered in response to her brother's cry, letting her guard down for a moment.

"You're doing the thing again," he mumbled, "Being paranoid and shaky - always on your toes." The girl only huffed, clutching onto her satchel.

"Well I don't want to get kidnapped! L-let's go."

Yes fr 😭

β˜†Zuri stood there for a minute, regain balance and shoving thoughts and feelings as far down as they could go. Then she snuck into the market and began to steal, simply because she could.β˜†

Xander trailed after his sister hand-in-hand, apologizing to older shoppers for bumping into them.

"Alright, the quarters are a bit low on food," Veronica trailed off, looking at the partially smudged ink on her hand. "And Isa really should be eating more," she added with a frown. Ever since they had left their mansion, Veronica had taken it upon herself to prepare the meals. Evangaline and Maven kept the house in order, doing their best to watch over the younger ones. Isa and Elijah were always off somewhere else, too busy to even eat or sleep, no matter how much Anga or Maven told them to take care of themselves. Lilith and Xander were too young to do anything, so Ronnie decided to make it her responsibility.

"Potatoes," she said dully, scanning the market for a stall.

Xander raised a brow, questioning the random comment from his sister. "Potatoes?" he squeaked, wiping the sweat on his trousers. "Yes, potatoes," replied Veronica, pointing at a stall a few feet away.

I'm adding to the other reply because it's super short sksksmaka

Yay stealing :] it's funizes. And that my friend is probably her number one moto at the moment.
But Zuri felt that things felt harder than they normally did. But they shouldn't of, right? She had looked death in the face plenty of times, but right now she wasn't as close, but definitely not far away.
And yet she shoved away these thoughts as well, because Zuri is very healthy.
She saw a scared looking kid and an angry looking kid being lectured by their mother.
Ha, imagine being scared.
Zuri had no right to say this because she was scared more often than she stole.

The gold coins clinked into the calloused hands of the young shopkeeper. The woman, who looked to be around her thirties, waved kindly as the two siblings walked away with their purchase.

It was rare, the two noticed, to find even a faint smile in these times. With the disappearances, kidnappings, and news of the Agani death, the whole kingdom has been worried.

A smile. It seemed like a cruel thing. Leading you on despite knowing it was a waste to keep your hopes up. Even so, the shopkeeper did.

"Let's take a break, Xan," Veronica sighed, sitting on the edge of a marble fountain.

Zuri continued to push her bodies limits. She figured that she was gonna die young anyways so might as well live hard.
Like the saying.
Her mind wandered, nonetheless, and she couldn't help but think of the star siblings that were Little X and the Little Prince, Eli.
Probably the only people who didn't want her in jail.
If she ever had to face jail, Zuri decided that dying first was the way to go.

Ah that didn't have much plot so I'm adding more simply because I can

*.✧ She walked around the different stands, keeping a low profile and stealing pratically whatever she could get her hands on. She didn't pay much attention to who anyone was, more or less what the people were looking at.
Zuri, of all things, did not want to get caught.
