Josephine has grown up in a loving family. Her mother, a muggle, worked as a doctor for other muggles. Her father, a wizard, worked as an editor for the Daily Prophet. That was all before Josephine's mother got real sick. Cancer ravaged Mrs. Alder's lungs for nearly a year before she passed away. Josephine was 12 at the time, and since then she has been living with her father, who never has time for her. To cope with her mother's death Josephine started to pull pranks on the other students at Hogwarts, all the while keeping her identity secret, until now.

Atropa grew up with a wealthy Pureblood family. They were very involved in the Dark Arts, and all of them before her had become Death Eaters.

She grew up to be the odd one out. Never wanting to hurt or kill anyone, always more interested in reading, potions, or art.

Her family tried for years to force her into joining the Death Eaters, but she refused.

They often pretend she doesn't exist, instead taking favor of her older sister, Siren, usually taking her out to buy her new things, and letting Atropa do her own thing.

She is invisible at home, and may as well not exist at school.
