Only through sheer willpower had Caleb managed to drag himself out of bed in order to face what was sure to be a daunting day at Rosewood High. Indeed, the only comfort he had was the knowledge that as long as he could get through this day, he would have the entire weekend in order to sort things out with Dylan. 'Ah, -- Dylan.' Yesterday had been a particularly nasty fight between them and of course as one of Rosewood's 'it' couples, the entire school had been quite content to sit back and watch. Honestly, Caleb couldn't understand why he was so worried what others thought about him, -- he was the one whom should have been inducing fear into others by what he thought about them. 'Not the other way around. Right?'

Even so, today felt odd, as though the moment he'd walked through the doors the school hadn't quite returned to fabulous Calebdom. Take right now: Lunch was
the time of the school day to see and be seen, but Caleb wasn't sure where he should go. He'd assumed that he would end up sitting with Naomi considering the little spat between him and Dylan at the moment, but she was at some idiotic family reunion in Texas and wouldn't be back till next week. 'Honestly, couldn't she pick a better time to go off to hick land?' Usually it was times like these, and they came around often, when they would camp out at the schools Cafe sipping Americanos and gossiping as she would gently console her best friend about all his troubles. After finishing their salads, -- without dressing of course, and chugging down their smart waters, they'd claim prime seats with fellow Rosewood elite.

But today, he'd avoided all of those places. It seemed desperate to sit at a cafe table alone, and he didn't feel particularly in the mood to discuss any of the preceding events of the following day with anyone else, or face Dylan for that matter. And now Caleb couldn't shake the nagging feeling that the whole school though of him as
'That Boy who duked it out with his boyfriend in the middle of the school parking lot'. He sighed, gazing jealously at a group of younger happy students on their way to the cafeteria, it was beyond nauseating and suddenly he felt like running in the other direction entirely.

In the end he had settled for sneaking outside before anyone he knew could approach him and sitting against the wall of the school building. No one ever came here because the sound of the generator was annoying to most and the ground was littered with fliers from years past and crumpled plastic cups. At almost any other time Caleb would have chided himself for being such a wimp and hiding like this, -- it certainly wasn't what popular, rule-the-school, Rosewood
'It' boy Caleb would do, but he simply didn't feel that way when he'd woken up that day. 'What the hell was wrong with him, anyway?' He thought to himself, staring depressidly down at a broken key chain that he fiddled with in between his fingers. He better get his s**t together before Naomi got back... She would have definitely kicked him in the a** for acting this pathetic. And if anyone in his crowd ever saw him like this, well, he would have definitely never lived it down. Mabye he could just say he hadn't been feeling good and went to see the school nurse?

At least no one was going to bother him here, that was an upside. Maybe all he needed was some time alone? Then he'd return to his rightful place.

Kade Alexander Whitehall

School, what a rather tedious thing... It wasn't even worth his time. Kade didn't make an effort to get to school on time, he didn't make an effort to get up, didn't set an alarm or get dressed quickly, walked as slowly as possible, anything to delay the inevitable. Rosewood High's rules and regulations weren't something that the boy tended to follow, he'd always been someone to do things his own way, however he liked. He didn't conform to other people's rules, they had to conform to his, well, at least until the law got involved, then of course he didn't have much of a choice. Still, to him everyone else was a little boring, always doing everything that they were told to, being as normal as possible...where was the fun in all of that? How could you have a good time if you didn't do something that was a little different from what society told you was right? Something interesting and new.

Although school was a very annoying thing to Kade he'd gotten up today because of one thing, Hayden and Lily had text him about some sort of argument between...Caleb and Dylan? They'd fallen out, no, in fact he knew exactly what had been said because Lily had decided it was a great idea to send him an entire recap of the argument, she had an amazing memory and she really was proving to him how well it served her with the intricacy and detail that she put in each of her messages. In order to be polite to one of his best friend's he'd read all of them...well...okay maybe that was a lie...he'd read
almost all of them. It was a lot of messages! He couldn't go through all of that, it was like reading a novel.

Kade knew Caleb pretty well, or...at least he had done at one point... The two of them had been pretty good friends when they were younger, they did a lot together, but then Caleb had become...well...Caleb, and Kade had decided that the path his friend had chosen was just not for him, over time the two of them drifted apart...and then suddenly they just didn't speak at all, it was a little sad really, but it wasn't like he hated him or anything. He would never join in in conversations which were saying something rather mean about his former friend, and if he caught his friends being particularly mean he'd stop them, that wasn't cool after all.

It was lunch now and Kade was hanging out in the cafeteria with Hayden and Mitchell, Lily was off doing something or other, she came and went, but he didn't really care, whatever she wanted to do. Mitchell was sitting on the table leaning his arm on his knee and staring over at a large group of students all sitting and laughing together, "Eugh...look at them..."

"What?" Hayden looked up from his food and followed his friend's gaze, "Aw, give it up man, who gives a s**t."

"Eh, it just bugs me...they do the exact same thing day in day out...how the hell do they find that interesting? What do they find so fun about school anyway? Look at their faces..."

Kade shook his head, "What happened?" He asked.

"Nothing, it just bugs me."

"Argue with Matt again?"

"Tch."

Hayden raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you two like brothers or something? You should get along better."

"
Step-brothers," Mitchell corrected, "And in your dreams, he's a douche that's rather stuck in his own little bubble of selfishness and pride, I'd love to break that sucker down."

"Fight him then."

"Fight...what?"

"If you don't want to fix it, then fight him, that's how little kids usually sort out their issues right?"

"Big kids too." Kade raised and eyebrow and looked at Hayden, "Hypocrite.

"Whatever." Hayden waved a hand at Kade and grinned, "Not like you can talk."

"I wasn't, I was just pointing out your mistake."

"As always. Hey, there's someone missing from that table...it's what's his face..."

"Caleb?" Mitchell moved off of the table and grabbed the can that Hayden was holding in his hand.

"Hey!" Hayden snatched at the can and scowled, "But yeah."

"Yeah, he had some sort of spat with Dylan remember."

"Oh yeah...that's right."

"Probably off crying somewhere."

Kade grunted, "I doubt that." He replied, "Lily sent me the whole argument. Anyway, lay off, it's not his fault you and your brother can't share the last haribo."

Mitchell growled and took a sip from the can before Hayden stood up and snatched it back.

"Anyway," Kade stood up, "I'm going to go and see if I can find the princess, she had something to give me I believe."

"Aight." Hayden grinned, "Have fun, and tell m'lady that she still owes me ten bucks."

Kade almost laughed at that, "She owes me like fifty."

"We should go break her legs or something."

"Maybe some other time, see ya guys later."

"Please, get out of my sight." Mitchell waved a hand at Kade as he walked off.

"Well, that's rude...I'm rather offended."

"Good!"

With a shake of his head Kade headed out of the cafeteria, he didn't usually get much to eat form there anyway since most of his time was spent outside.

The boy walked out of the side of the school and headed around the side, he knew that when Lily wasn't with him she came back from her little trips via the back of the school, so he'd head around now. Walking along with his hands in his pockets he noticed something, just as he went around the side of the school he saw someone... Wait...was that Caleb? What on earth was he doing out here of all places? Was he hiding? From his friends? Really? With a sigh Kade decided to stop, he didn't know why, Caleb probably didn't want to speak to him of all people...but he felt like he should. With a rather neutral look on his face he walked up and stood around a meter away from the other boy, looking down at him, "Something wrong?" He asked, "Of all people I didn't expect to see you out here."
