But...

Some
thing was off.

__________

They fell down again. Yet this time their arms did not flail around in fear, like the first time, but instead they stayed steady on their stomach as they landed with a thump and a rustle on the golden flower bed.

They sat up before shaking their head to get rid off the petals in their brown locks, but as one floated down to rest on their lap, they picked it up delicately with an index finger and blew it away with a soft breath.

Frisk smiled lightly as they watched it twirl and swirl in the air before settling on the ground. Their smile was short-lived, since after looking at where the petal had landed, the colour of the floor was different on how they remembered before.

Tilting their head, they decided to think that their memory had gotten a bit confused since she'd been gone from the RUINS for so long. They slowly stood up, putting strength on their short legs first before pushing off the ground with one hand.

It was time to begin their journey through the UNDERGROUND once more...and maybe...diverge into a new path.

Frisk walked down the first short corridor, gazing curiously at the dark shade of red bricks that made up the RUINS--they are certain that it was another colour, gray, perhaps--and came at a stop at the entrance where she would meet Flowey and then Toriel. They moved their fingers a bit, exercising them, as they inhaled and exhaled. Nodding, they went through the entrance with an air of confidence and determination.

Flowey felt a sudden change in the air, followed closely by a soft thump and even softer footsteps somewhere off in the distance. He frowned and turned to face where the sound had come from. The RUINS were sealed off, weren't they? There was no way someone would be able to come from there, unless... Another human? Flowey began to shake slightly. The last time a human had fallen into the RUINS, it didn't end well for many of the monsters living in the Underground. The footsteps came closer, and it became easier to feel the soul a little better.

He had known that soul. It was so familiar, yet something about it was different. It held kindness and understanding. This felt so foreign to the flower, as none of the monsters here had held anything more than hatred. All because of them. But this wasn't them, was it? This wasn't the person that fell all those years ago, was it? Still, the monsters wouldn't know that. To them a human is a human, and all humans needed to be eliminated before they can cause any trouble.

The footsteps were louder now, practically at the entrance already. He was pulled from his thoughts when they stopped in front of him. The flower took in the human's appearance. The soul, the face.. Even down to the stripped shirt. Flowey began to shake more. It's them. They've come back to finish what they had started...

"Chara, there's no need to do this again..." Flowey spoke with a voice struggling to be strong.
