Handler of Souls, Destroyer of Hearts

The Watery Realm
Fur sticks to your side from the journey over. You are soaked, but the sound of crashing water causes you to ignore your current discomfort. The view is magnificent with all the waterfalls crashing down into glorious pools and you can see many cats splashing around with no cares in the world. It is like they do not expect you to be there or, if they notice, they do not see you as a threat.

Welcome to Torrentclan, where the water outweighs the land, though prey is still plentiful. This is not a place for the land lovers of the world and if you plan on exploring here you better grow some webbed footing or at least have the skills required of a Torrentclan cat. You might be challenged here, but Torrentclan cats expect little from cats not of their clan and will probably be waiting for your body to float off into the ocean sometime soon.

If you find yourself lost, make sure to check the ϟTorrentclan Catsϟ Page in order to find your way.

If you couldn't already tell, this is the roleplay area for only those roleplaying in this area.

Current Status
The Fishing competition is just a few days away and cats are training for the event.

Tigerfall stretched as he exited the Medicine Cat den. He was up earlier than usual. The sun hadn't even risen yet. He shook his head and passed one of the cats assigned as a night guard. With a wish of his tail, the cat had decided not to speak up. What he was doing was already known to every cat there - he was out to collect herbs. It became a hobby of his now. It wasn't simply because he needed to get them; it was because he had nothing better to do. Given, there might be better ways to spend the morning instead of plunging head first outside the camp, alone, to search for herbs but he didn't really care.

After a good while, he returned carrying what seems to be a large leaf - Beech leaves, in his mouth. Inside were different herbs that he had collected, though all of them were small in amount. The herbs were Feverfew, Goatweed and Horsetail to name a few.

"Quite a catch there." One of the warriors, Lilyswift, remarked when she exited the Warrior's den and saw him enter the camp. "Must've taken a while huh?"

"Yeah." Tigerfall replied in a rather straightforward way before proceeding to his den, not stopping to involve himself in small talk with the she-cat. He didn't have it all too important to engage in such activities, much less now. He had to store these first after all. He quickly arranged the herbs into their respective counters, all the while keeping an eye for inventory. They certainly weren't running out of anything so that was good.

Though, he might have to ask Froststar if he could depart for Starclan's Blessing. He might have to gather some herbs that didn't grow in their territory. He was sure that the leader wouldn't object with that. It would also be a great opportunity to take Hazepaw there, see what he thinks of the place. After all, if Tigerfall were to pass on and join Starclan, Hazepaw had to learn about that too.

"Hazepaw, can you recheck inventory?" He asked the young apprentice of his. While Tigerfall was more then sure of his counting, he figured that giving Hazepaw something to do was good. Besides, this would be the kind of opportunity that he would take so that the apprentice could learn about which herbs he still didn't know about. Tigerfall hasn't actually been keeping track of which herbs he had been teaching the young one. It hasn't been long so he was pretty sure that there was a lot more herbs to cover.

The moon still claimed the sky when Froststar left camp, her pelt brushing against her sister's as she walked. The two had left a short while before sunrise, informing the guard and taking their leave. It had become a tradition of sorts - one that used to involve three cats rather than two, but they still held to their routine and traveled to the Moonlit Fishing Hole once every moon for an early morning fishing trip. They used to stay at the fishing hole all night, but after gaining the position of leader, the visits had to be cut much shorter.

Though there was no competition that was established between the two, they acted much like apprentice's and kept a silent, mutual agreement that there would be a victor. A few unique fish had been caught, but her sister had the largest and perhaps the most vibrantly colored of the two. Froststar had praised her sister's catch - though the red-colored fish was not an uncommon find within the pool, most of the large ones tended to be in the vast bodies of water surrounding the island, with the biggest of them posing a threat to cats that stray too far into the depths. This one was still considerably small compared to those monsters, but it was still larger than the average catch.

The two sisters returned home shortly after sunrise with prey in their jaws. In a way, the leader didn't want to return. When just the two of them were out, it was like old times - her sister acted as she usually did, with her troubles seemingly pushed away. But when they returned to camp, she was like a different cat.
She felt bad for Sleetfoot's rejected kit, Wolfpaw. Many times she tried to talk some sense into her sister, but it was never with success.

Froststar touched her nose to Sleetfoot and the two parted ways after dropping off their prey. Afterwards she glanced around the camp in an attempt to find her apprentice. It had been a good while since she trained an apprentice, but the days had been peaceful for the clan. Besides, she had taken a liking to Heronpaw when she was still a kit and it would be a good way to keep the leader busy once again.

The morning would be a good time to take the apprentice for training, Froststar decided. She was still young, and needed to build her muscles in order to become an efficient Torrentclan warrior. Perhaps Shadowgaze and Wolfpaw would join the duo. "Heronpaw," She called as she approached the apprentice's den, though she was unsure if the young she-cat was even within it. "We're going out for training."

Hazepaw
Hazepaw had been sitting outside the den watching as the clan arose. As amazing as it was, his mentor always managed to be up before him. He could recall that even before he was his apprentice that the tom had always been there when Hazepaw awoke from some horrid thoughts. For once, the oddly marked cat preferred that Tigerfall was not here just yet. As meaningless as it was, he still dreamed of becoming a warrior, though the path was long gone and out of his mind. He watched as Wolfpaw awoke looking for Shadowgaze while giving his brother a quick enthusiastic meow of good morning and he watched as Froststar collected Heronpaw for training. His Aunt was nothing, but fair, though Hazepaw sometimes resented her for how she could easily step away from the problems unlike them. It wasn't her fault, but an envious niche inside of his heart.

Hazepaw turned back to go inside. He knew that he should work on remembering all these herbs since he almost had them all down pack. It sort of angered him how easy this all was for him. Why couldn't warrior training been just as smooth? Why do you have to rub it in my face? he yowled inside to starclan, but they only answered when they needed something. Looking through the herbs, he soon noticed his mentor enter with some herbs. There was one that stood out. Goatweed was sometimes used on his mother due to her irrational behavior in order to ease her anxiety. There was also Horsetail and the last one always gave Hazepaw a problem since there were so many that looked similar. He sniffed the air to take in the sharp tangy smell. Feverfew, he thought as he remembered the more similar plants by their scent.

"Hazepaw, can you recheck inventory?" his mentor asked and Hazepaw's eyes rolled.

"Sort of been doing that as it is," he meowed in a snarky tone before turning back to his task. He hadn't been doing that with it in mind, but going over the herbs had sort of lead to a check of inventory.

Wolfpaw
There were sometimes when Wolfpaw wished he didn't have to be so diligent as he slowly woke up with the sun just peeking. His body ached and his mind was fuzzy, but he knew it was important that he prove he was a great asset to the clan. Stretching himself, he was gifted with a large yawn that made him a tad dizzy as he tried to exit the den. The sound of the waterfalls crashing seemed to provide some effort of rejuvenating as he started to look around for his mentor. Wolfpaw caught eye of his brother watching from outside the den.

"Morning, Hazepaw!" he exclaimed before continuing on his search. Wolfpaw scented the air and froze when he took note of Sleetfoot's scent. She has already went back into the den, he reassured himself, but worried that Shadowgaze was there as well. Soon he just started pacing around camp, anxious, as he hoped Shadowgaze would soon appear and save him. His stomach growled, but he dared not eat unless given permission as it was his code to be the greatest asset to the clan and show them he was not like his uncle.

Coalwhisper yawned, trotting alongside Shadowgaze and Oceansong. Shadowgaze glanced over at him, catching it as his sixth yawn this morning since the trio left for their patrol. It was hard to miss, the dark fuzzy tom was on her good side. The deputy didn't understand how he wasn't already used to the early mornings. They went out almost everyday. On the outside, she slightly shook her head in what looked like bemusement. Internally she was terrified that the tom might be caught offguard by an enemy patrol if he wasn't more alert. I'll just have to pick up the slack. She might not see very well but her ears picked up the slack.

However, the deputy's worries were ill founded when they arrived back to camp safely. As expected, Coalwhisper headed straight for the warrior's den. Oceansong paused to pick up some food, passing Wolfpaw on her way.

As always, he was there waiting for her when Shadowgaze returned. This too, became a routine. Something the deputy was so fond of. She gazed at her apprentice with her one eye. She knew what he was waiting for. "It's alright," she purred. "Go ahead and eat. We might do some hunting practice afterward."

Half the time when he was interacting with Hazepaw, it would usually end up with him feeling a little frustrated. This was such a time. He did not understand why Hazepaw was so adamant about not being a medicine cat and end up taking the mantle anyway. Yes, his destiny had apparently been written from long before - he was meant to be a medicine cat. But the young tom had decided, prior to this, to defy from his destiny and then became a warrior's apprentice.

Tigerfall had just shrugged that off. He'd rather not take on an apprentice who isn't set on becoming a medicine cat. But then one day, Hazepaw padded to him and asked him to become his mentor, and so Tigerfall took him in. He didn't know what kind of talk he'd get with the Starclan cats if he didn't. But as time passed by, he would sometimes regret having done it.

Not with this kind of attitude at least.

"Well then, is everything stocked? Nothing we need to collect?" He asked, trying hard not to sound as irritated as he actually is. Though by distracting himself with packing up some medicine for the apprentice's mother, it helped with sounding like his usual self. "Because if there isn't, I'd like for you to take this to Sleetfoot. As you probably remember, she won't listen to me." While it was quite easy to make her listen to him back when Hazepaw and Wolfpaw were both kits, it became increasingly difficult as the moons passed by.

When they were apprenticed, it'd take Tigerfall quite some time of talking with the she-cat to make her take her medicine. Her condition was worrying after all. When Hazepaw became his apprentice, she just outright doesn't listen to him anymore. He managed to get around that problem by sending her own kit... but something told him that Hazepaw wasn't all too keen about it.

Wolfpaw
The fluffy apprentice had stopped pacing when he took notice of Shadowgaze's scent as well as his father's. When the entered, his father gave him a tired smile before heading back to the warrior's den. Coalwhisper was a good father, but he had grown exhausted more and more lately. He had never liked mornings, but, like Wolfpaw, he was able to stay pepped up. The tom couldn't help but feel it was his fault for his father losing his once simple way of life. Shadowgaze soon approached him. He had grown use to her unseeing eye. He now took it as the eye that would never judge him and it felt comforting.

"I shall get right on that," he meowed enthusiastically before going over to the fresh kill pile and picking up the smallest prey he could find. He didn't wish to be greedy and knew he should only take larger prey when he had given at least twice as much to the pile. These were his rules and way of life after all. I'll make sure to catch a lot today, Wolfpaw thought as he did every time. He quickly scruffed down the tiny mouse as he waited for Shadowgaze to finish what she needed.

Hazepaw
Though the tone of his mentor hid his irritation, Hazepaw looked up to see his face reveal it was not so happy with his remark. It wasn't like Hazepaw completely hated the idea of medicine cat. He wished he could one day explain that to Tigerfall since he had done so much for the apprentice regardless of his poor attitude. Hazepaw sighed.

"As always, you are diligent in your collecting. Though catnip is the lowest, it is still quite full," he informed his mentor with a much better tone of voice this time. He would of liked to say that they need more of something, maybe even something that was in Starclan's Blessing. Hazepaw did have a fondness for herbs and enjoyed the area, though it was a little bit a ways and not somewhere you could just up and leave to all the time. Still, he would do anything to stop from having to see his mother.

"I guess I will take them to her," he meowed reluctantly as he waited for his mentor to finish. He wished she wasn't so stubborn, but she has only been getting worse. Hazepaw knew Tigerfall wouldn't say, but he felt that his mother might lose herself completely soon. It frightened him, but more so because of his brother. Hazepaw tried to focus on what Tigerfall was doing instead of thinking about what hasn't happened, yet.

Hazepaw's change in tone made Tigerfall a little guilty - had he noticed? That wasn't good. Ah, working with others is difficult. His nose crinkled at his report, not because catnip was running low but because he didn't have a legitimate excuse to head to Starclan's Blessing. While he knew of his responsibilities lied here in the clan and that he should have a constant presence here, he sometimes wants to go out and be alone - although now he'd have to spend it with Hazepaw but that was besides the point.

"Excellent." He muttered. He then finished packing up everything Sleetfoot had to take for the day. Now that Tigerfall really paid attention to it, this was quite a lot. But such was what needed to happen. Hm... he should probably report her worsening condition to Froststar. He had to talk it out with her not because she was the leader, but because she was Sleetfoot's sister. Family was still different after all.

He looked at Hazepaw and nudged the package towards him. "Hazepaw..." He began before shaking his head. "Ah, nevermind. Just get that to Sleetfoot and come back." He then turned around as he began taking some medicine and then packing some together. This was his emergency resources. He didn't want to be caught by surprise by a sudden attack or natural disaster and not have some medicine ready. That would lead to quite a lot of problems after all. He had to replace the emergency supplies every two moons because they would begin to rot and they'd be of no use to him or to the clan anymore.

Hazepaw
He watched as his mentor finished stuffing all the herbs in the little grass blade made package before pushing it towards him. Saying his name, Hazepaw looked up as he waited for Tigerfall to say something, but nothing ever came out and he watched as his mentor left. It left him curious, but Hazepaw was not one to bother with sticking his nose into trivial issues. Due to his experience, he tried his best to not let things stress him out that really were meaningless. Picking up the package, Hazepaw headed towards the warrior's den. Coalwhisper was asleep away from Sleetfoot which just went to show how bad she had gotten.

"Hazepaw, my son, what a pleasant surprise," it wasn't pleasant and it wasn't a surprise in his opinion. Sometimes he wondered if she actually thought that it was a surprise like she had forgotten the previous day. He knew sometimes she could be forgetful like the fact she had another son, but still.

"Here, take these. Medicine cat's orders," He meowed bluntly and pushed it over to her. He watched as his mother purred and quickly took the herbs without any qualms. She was so proud of him, yet, he resented her. He still loved her regardless of what she had done, but if she and her brother were dying from greencough and they only had one last catnip to give, well, she wouldn't get it.

"Thank you, Hazepaw. You are an amazing medicine cat," she continued to praise him, but it only made his stomach twist.

"Yeah. I will see you later," he meowed to her quickly before leaving the den. He passed his brother finishing a mouse and wished he could join him to forget his worries, but he needed to get back, so instead he returned to the quietness of the den.

Tigerfall looked back as Hazepaw exited the den before going back to packing. Was it a good idea though? Hazepaw was still transitioning between being a warrior and being a medicine cat. Besides, he was making such good progress. He memorized a lot of herbs, if he would base it off his inventory checking, and that was certainly something for an apprentice who has only been one for half a moon. Certainly, they could afford perhaps a day without having to busy himself with herbs?

Besides, a Medicine Cat shouldn't be left without any knowledge about protecting themselves right? Applefur did allow him to do this as well when he had been an apprentice for around one and a half moons, but this was around the same progress as back when he was an apprentice. Besides, Froststar would certainly allow him to do this. Everything was peaceful after all and he had done his daily duties of sending medicine to those who needed it.

Lost in thought, he didn't notice Hazepaw arrive. To the apprentice, he looked like he was just staring blankly at the wall. After a good short while, he nodded to himself before turning around, only to tense up to see that Hazepaw was sitting there. He recovered quickly enough before exiting the den. "Come, Hazepaw, I have a different task for you today." He said with a flick of his tail.

He spotted his apprentice's brother at the fresh kill pile before flicking his tail towards him. "Join him and eat something. You would need it." This was usually something that he does when they were off to collect herbs. He needed Hazepaw to have ate something after all. He spotted the deputy and nodded at her.

He then padded over to Froststar. She was practically the only person he could really approach for this kind of thing. She was a friend after all. A trusted one too. It seemed she had been looking for her apprentice. "Ah, Froststar. I have a request to make." He began. No need to sugarcoat anything or lead her around in circles. "Seeing as you're training Heronpaw now too, can you take Hazepaw with you as well? I figured it wouldn't be too bad to have him know more about being a warrior as well. He's making good progress with being a medicine cat anyway so there's enough time for this. If I have to go, I will." It was certainly an odd request but he wished the leader would take it up.

Heronpaw blinked awake. The den was already empty. Light streamed through the entrance, and she could hear her mentor's voice outside the den, calling her. Mouse-dung! How had she allowed herself to sleep in so late? The apprentice jumped to her feet, panicking. Did she answer? Did she pretend to be out already? The apprentice turned in circles, messing up her already messy nest, before taking a deep breath and steeling herself. No, she had to admit her mistake and deal with the consequences. From now on, she'd have Wolfpaw wake her up with him in the morning. Taking a moment to shake out her short fur of moss, the apprentice moved to the entrance of her den, ears flat and head low with a sheepish look on her face. "Sorry, Froststar," Heronpaw mewled meekly. "I overslept." It was rather obvious she overslept, as her pelt was still haphazard and ungroomed, with bits of moss still clinging to it.

Her ears perked up when she overheard Tigerfall talking with Froststar about having Hazepaw join them for training. The apprentice wanted to ask if Wolfpaw would be coming as well, but didn't want to be rude and interrupt, so she kept her mouth shut for now and let the older cats speak in peace, though she did watch the two converse with wide eyes and attentive ears.

Seafoam stretched out her limbs, mewling slightly from the long stretch. She snapped open her eyes when her pads pushed up against fur, and she retracted her limbs when she was met with a hiss in return. The previously sleeping warrior grumbled to himself and rolled over, the more rapid rising and falling of his flanks telling her he wasn't going to get back to sleep. Ah, well... it was a bit late to be sleeping in anyways, and with that, Seafoam bounced to her feet and trotted out into the camp clearing. "Good morning, Torrentclan!" she greeted with a loud yowl, much to the annoyance of most of the still-sleeping warriors in the den behind her, as well as the elders in their den right next to the warriors den. Stretching her limbs one by one, the bubbly warrior trotted over to Shadowgaze, eager for a task. "Greetings, Shadowgaze! What would you like me to do on this fine evening?" she asked, practically bouncing like an apprentice.

As her apprentice emerged from the den with an embarrassed expression, Froststar looked at her with some amusement. There was no doubt that the young apprentice had just woken up, considering her pelt looked a bit less than presentable for the morning. "It's alright, just make sure it doesn't happen often," She replied.

Her gaze traveled to Tigerfall as he approached and listened closely to his request. Take Hazepaw with them for warrior training? It wasn't a bad idea, she thought, and Froststar was quick to notice her apprentice's interest. "I see no problem with taking him," Froststar answered, "I'm sure his company will be good for Heronpaw. You're welcome to come if you'd like as well, if you have nothing else to attend to. I was planning on asking Shadowgaze if she'd like to bring Wolfpaw as well." There was little doubt in the leader's mind that Hazepaw could take care of himself well enough at this point - after all, he had previous training as a warrior apprentice. However, there was never any harm in getting a bit more practice in.

Froststar looked to her apprentice, who seemed to still be listening intently to the ongoing conversation. "Why don't you grab some prey? It may be a long day, and I don't want you getting weak because of an empty stomach," She suggested, "Don't eat too much though, and clean yourself up a bit."

Looking back up, she caught sight of Shadowgaze returning from the morning patrol. "Shadowgaze," Froststar called out, beckoning the deputy over to them, "Anything to report?"

Shadowgaze was cleaning some mud clinging to her paw when Seafoam bounded up to her. Her ear flicked in acknowledgement of her question while trying to dig some dirt inside her claw. She didn't succeed in getting out but she didn't like keeping other cats waiting so she put her paw back to the ground despite her internal irritation at the uncleanliness. The deputy cleared her throat. "I was thinking of forming a hunting patrol with Wolfpaw," she began to say before she was beckoned by Froststar. "One minute." She excused herself, dipping her head in apology.

Shadowgaze padded over to her leader, looking with utmost seriousness. "No, nothing, thankfully," she answered, thinking Froststar was referring to the morning patrol that she had lead earlier. If it were just her and Froststar in private, Shadowgaze would also warn about the bad feeling she had in her gut. But since the feeling was unfounded and they weren't alone, the deputy kept it to herself. She didn't want to worry the clan needlessly.

Hazepaw
Hazepaw was surprised when it seemed like his mentor could read his thoughts. He felt slightly ashamed of himself for always being so harsh about the path he had chosen when Tigerfall did everything he could to make the young apprentice feel like he belonged, even so, it was difficult for Hazepaw to forget the nightmares that had lead him to this moment. Perhaps he would of chose the path on his own, but it felt so forced and he found himself blaming Starclan for the problems in their lives.

Tigerfall left before Hazepaw could thank him and so he headed to where Wolfpaw was. His tabby brother had already finished eating and had noticed that Hazepaw was heading over so had grabbed him a fish.

"Sorry, the prey pile is a tad low so your favorite type wasn't there," Wolfpaw informed his brother, but Hazepaw just purred and gave his brother a quick cuff to the ear. Talking to Wolfpaw always made the speckled face tom feel better about his choices in life and he could see the pride and love in Wolfpaw's eyes. Even though Hazepaw felt like he was the one that looked up to his strong and outgoing brother, Wolfpaw looked up to the more intelligent and logical Hazepaw.

"It doesn't matter. You will catch me one later," he meowed to him before sitting down and eating.

Wolfpaw went on and on about his exciting hopes for the day, but Hazepaw was only half listening as he focused in to where his mentor was. What is he up to? He wondered as he tried to strain his ears to listen. He tried to keep his eyes focused on the fish so it wouldn't look like he was spying, but he knew that the way his ear was twisted would probably give it away anyhow. Turning to look at the exchange, Hazepaw noticed Heronpaw come out and saw her eyes glitter and grow with excitement which told him Wolfpaw was probably involved. It frustrated Hazepaw that he couldn't quite hear due to Wolfpaw's chatter, but he decided to ignore it and listen closely to his brother's excitement. Wolfpaw didn't seem to notice that Hazepaw was distracted at all and only grinned madly at his brother as he finished his story about catching the largest fish this clan had seen.

Tigerfall turned to the apprentice Heronpaw. It seems that she had just woken up from her sleep and has reported for duty. He simply looked down at the apprentice but nodded at her as an acknowledgement of her presence. Mhm, he remembered when she was born. It was unfortunate that her brother had died as they were born. He also remembered how her older sister had helped. Nevertheless, there was nothing to be said between them. Nothing of importance anyway.

"Your help is much appreciated Froststar." He would have been less respectful in tone had they been alone. They had forged a rather odd friendship from way back when the leader had just been a kit - in and out of the medicine cat den. It had proven to be quite a relief to him to be able to talk to a cat near to his age. "I shall observe for a while then. I have nothing to do for the morning." He looked back to the Elder's den but they were rather quiet for the past few days so there was no cause for alarm.

He turned back to Heronpaw. "I am going to let you tell Hazepaw that he will be joining you in training." He gestured to the other apprentices at the fresh kill pile, but not in time to see that Hazepaw was trying to listen in. He was sure that the young apprentice would be ecstatic to bring the news to Hazepaw, as they were friends and all. He wondered if Shadowgaze would be training her apprentice with Froststar as well.

Froststar had called upon the deputy just as Seafoam had greeted the entire clan with her loud voice. It was fine as long as it was in an open area - but he was rather irritated by it when she would babble in his den. He looked at the she-cat and nodded her a good morning. Hearing that there was nothing to report as of now, he placed that in his memory. That means it should be safe to traverse the further parts of their little island without much repercussions. His early walk had just been a few tree-lengths away.

Heronpaw jumped slightly, having been caught in her silent questions. It seemed almost like she had managed to annoy Tigerfall without meaning to. Nodding respectfully to the medicine cat, Heronpaw turned and made her way to the fresh kill pile. She could hardly keep the bounce out of her steps, as she approached the two other apprentices. "We're going out training today!" Heronpaw announced, not as nearly as loudly as her sister had greeted the clan, but loud enough for the other two to hear. "All three of us," she said with a pointed look towards Hazepaw, insinuating that he would be training with them as well. She cast a glance back to the apprentice den, wondering if Minnowpaw would be coming with.

She didn't have long to wonder, however, as her older sister moved towards the small group of apprentices. "Hey, 'paws, what's going on today?" Seafoam asked, flicking her tail in curiosity.

"Training," Heronpaw meowed in return, excitement bubbling up, her sister's enthusiasm infectious. "Can Minnowpaw come too?"

"Hmm, I'll go ask Froststar. She might not want too many apprentices to look over," Seafoam purred in humor. "Five 'paws can be quite difficult, you know!"

Heronpaw shook her head, a good-natured smile on her face as she flicked her sister's ear with her tail, earning her a playful cuff from the older cat in response. Despite their age gap, they still acted like littermates. Before Heronpaw could retaliate, though, the warrior turned and trotted over to Froststar and Tigerfall to ask them about having Minnowpaw join the training session, if the glimmer in the she-cat warrior's eyes wasn't telling already.

Hazepaw
Hazepaw remained watching his brother until he saw his ears flick and his gaze travel past him. Before the young medicine cat could turn around, Heronpaw had approached with her whole body seeming to bounce like that of a rabbit. He was going to comment on it before she blurted out, in a rather loud voice, about them training together. Hazepaw was only slightly shocked, but he could see that this all made sense. What a cunning medicine cat we have, he thought, but with a slight smile and felt his worries fade. He knew he owed Tigerfall much and he swore that one day he would pay him back. Seafoam had approached quite quickly after Heronpaw and the two communicated together allowing Wolfpaw and Hazepaw to just watch. Hazepaw appreciated the more annoying traits of Heronpaw since it meant he didn't always have to open his mouth which, usually, lead to sarcastic remarks.

"I hope Minnowpaw can go too!" Wolfpaw had spoke up after Seafoam had left. He could see his brother's excitement at having other cats around and knew that this helped boost his self-confidence within the clan. Hazepaw knew that his fluffy sibling dealt with this sinking feeling that no one truly wanted him here and that he did not belong. Though Hazepaw had always been very accommodating towards him, he knew that Wolfpaw needed more and that this would be something that would lift both their spirits. I just hope Starclan knows this doesn't make up for anything, he commented to himself since he hated to enjoy life too much as he felt it meant he was forgetting the troubles that needed to be dealt with.

Froststar nodded at her deputy's report. Torrentclan was lucky with the territory that they had - not only did they share a clan border with only one clan, but their territory was something unique, covered with water and a number of heights that were all too familiar for Torrentclan cats, but intimidating to any other. Perhaps that was the reasoning as to why the other clans thought them lazy - because they had less to worry about in terms of invasions and the like.

"That's good to hear," She mewed, then dipped her head in thanks to her deputy. "I'm going out with Heronpaw for a bit of training, and Tigerfall and Hazepaw will be coming with as well. You're welcome to join as well with Wolfpaw, I'm sure the other two apprentices would like that. I was planning on bringing us to the beach at Waterfall Cove. It's probably a good idea to get a bit of extra fishing practice in before the competition in a few sunrises."

It would be the first fishing competition for the apprentices. For the most part, the event was held sometime during greenleaf, and it offered a sense of friendly competitiveness amongst clanmates. It was usually especially popular among apprentices, but warriors were always just as eager to show their true fishing abilities and rise up amongst their clanmates.

The leader's gaze flickered around the camp for a moment, just in time to catch sight of Seafoam. "Hello Seafoam," Froststar greeted warmly.

Seafoam returned with a "Greetings Froststar!" in her ever cheerful manner. "Greetings, Tigerfall, Shadowgaze," she also dipped her head in respect to the medicine cat and deputy. "Pardon me if it's not my place to butt in, but I overheard you were going to take the apprentices training today, and was wondering if I could bring along Minnowpaw?" Turning to look over her shoulder, Seafoam just realized she didn't actually know where the smaller cat had run off to. Maybe she leapt off a waterfall or something...? Seafoam sure hoped not. "Er... perhaps I should go find her before committing her to training today... make sure she's okay and all." The young warrior gave a sheepish lick to her chest fur, waiting to be dismissed, as suddenly greeting and leaving would be highly rude of her, in her opinion. Especially to the three cats that all but ran the clan.

Shadowgaze watched the planning of the group training silently for the most part. Other than the apprentices, the deputy wondered which of the mentors would be going. She was going, she was sure. After all, she had planned on a hunting expedition with Wolfpaw before the suggestion of a group outing had arouse. She glanced over the formation of cats with her one good eye. Was Froststar and Tigerfall both coming? Wouldn't that leave the camp completely without some type of leadership? It didn't seem right. Especially considering there was no reason for Tigerfall and his apprentice to come, considering they were medicine cats. With a flick of her ear, Shadowgaze voiced these concerns. "Froststar, are you sure it's a good idea to leave the camp with both the deputy and the medicine cat? Shouldn't we leave some cat to watch the camp?" She mewed lightly, trying to word it in a way that wouldn't question her authority.

Oh? They were going to Waterfall Cove? So they were going to get in some fishing practice in. Oh, was Froststar planning to also sneak that competition in? The fishing competition that the apprentices, and most warriors, just absolutely loves. When he had the chance, he would often watch it back when he was an apprentice. The other cats seemed to enjoy themselves in such a competitive situation. Applefur often told him that most of the cats, especially the warriors, joined to show the clan just how good they were.

He then turned to Seafoam. "Minnowpaw's not up yet?" He couldn't help but ask, seeing as how Seafoam doesn't know where she is. That was odd. With Wolfpaw, Hazepaw and Heronpaw up, she would have probably woken up by now. His tail twitched at the thought that the apprentice was not there. Though, he wasn't the one in authority here, considering the leader was there and all, but he nodded at Seafoam. They only had a few apprentices, he'd rather not lose any right now.

He then looked at Shadowgaze. Ah, her worries were not unfounded. "Mhm, I would only watch for a short while and head back. I'll leave Hazepaw to you two." He first started. He never intended to stay for the entirety of the training. It would be of no use to him and he had to be in the camp for any cat who suddenly needed medicinal help. If he were to linger away for too long, that would happen again. He wouldn't make the same mistakes again. He already vowed that to Starclan and, more importantly, to himself. "But if it would put you at ease, Shadowgaze, I will happily stay here." He continued.

Due to an accident during training a few sunrises ago, the fishing competition was postponed, but today is the day. It is mid-afternoon and it is time for the cats, including medicine cats, to go attempt to collect the most fish. Cat that catches the largest fish has a guaranteed spot to tomorrow's gathering and first pick of the prey pile.
