Fandom Tokyo Ghoul [Open; Need more CCG]

I'm trying to start again on RPN with something small, so I'm doing a few RPs and projects - one of which is this. Also, my activity will be mostly here and there, as I am not sure if I'll be RPing myself or not, but I will be around often enough. So please, if you enter, try to be active.

Now, yes, it is based on Tokyo Ghoul, but it has little to do with the actual manga/anime plot. I was wondering if anyone was interested in an AU?
There is also a version of this I could do (if anyone was interested) so that it would be played like a game. Thoughts?

PLOT

Tokyo, 1838

A little girl skipped down the cobblestones, holding her mom's hand. The echo of her feet was accompanied by the slow rhythm of music coming from a nearby tavern, the smell of cooking oil, fish and spices heavy in the air.
"Mama, why are you so serious?" The woman smiled down at her daughter, tightly squeezing the tiny hand. "Ah, you need not worry, my child. The world is simply following its natural order. The wind has changed once more, and a new storm's on the horizon. Times are changing once again. You see, change is inevitable." The smile faded from the girl's lips and her she stopped in place. The busy city life went on while they both walked on silently.

Tokyo, 1865

She covered a scarf around her face to try keeping the smell of smog and river away. Her eyes carefully scanned the streets far bellow.
"It's time for change."

Tokyo, present day

The CCG Investigators have been fighting on the streets of Tokyo for years, only seeing their own men fall with little achievement or progress. A group of vandals and criminals rose from the Underworld, and everyone knew that it was them. Ghouls. The group was lead by a ghoul whose power controlled almost half the Underworld, and was spreading dangerously far throughout Tokyo. For her skillful tactics and power, she and her closest circle were nicknamed "The Queen and her Guard dogs". As her reign continued, the CCG started bringing in more and more investigators in their futile fight against the Court, as the group liked to call themselves. The name had started as a joke, a response to their nickname, but it soon became a synonym for power and destruction.

The Court was at the peak of its power. They had monopolised almost all hunting grounds in Tokyo and had built up solid defences and feeding systems to fight against the CCG. The city was crumbling at their feet and was practically theirs to control. Or at least it would be, until something shook the organization to the very core.

Their Queen disappeared.

AU details:
The world is set around the Victorian era and has its style, be it Tokyo or some other city/country.
I guess it's a bit... steam punk-ish? The CCG exists and uses the same weapons, but don't expect bullet trains, ferraris or anything like that
The ghouls will be either loners or part of a group (similar to organisations like the Aogiri tree), and will all have the option of dating, having kids, etc. (both RPers must agree, of course, and all Site rules must be followed)
Yes, the character images are pre-set. Why? Because I had a story in mind for these exact characters, so I would prefer not to change the pictures.
Available characters will mostly be Ghouls and CCG Investigators, as well as humans
The CCGs all have starting ranks, but can climb up/down as the story goes on. I'm thinking that we could start with:
Director/Chairman, 2x Rank 2, 1x Rank 1, 1x Rank 3, 1x First Class, 1x Associate Class
~ The Ghoul characters have these positions (in order of command):
Leader, Second-in-command, 2x Guards (nicknamed 'Guard dogs'), Investigator, Cleaner, Vanguard, Newbies

This thread is under construction, I'll try to make it as attractive as I can with my limited BBC skills, as well as add the actual plot. In the meantime, feel free to sign up/claim a character or ask questions!​

It's been a while since I last watched the anime (forgive me if I've forgotten some stuff), but this sounds awesome!
I'd like to reserve Misao Kato if possible, please.
It was between her and Fuyu Kamenashi - but I get the feeling that Misao's innocent appearance has the potential to be very deceiving...

They're just fancy titles to add flavour to the plot~
Investigators would be the ones keeping an eye on the wards and gathering intel/blackmail material. Vanguards are the goons/soldiers, used in group attacks or fights.

You may choose and create both kagune and personalities for your characters, but they will all be run by me, mostly to check the kagune/abilities to avoid creating mary sues or something similar.
