together we will shine
Another fansign, another comback, another music bank to perform. Tirelessly they work, together they create, all at once they inspire. They wake up, work on songs, do promotions, practice til the break of dawn, "rest" and then repeat. Idols live for their fans. Well, that's what they say anyway. Keeping up an image is just as important as your talent in this world. Those who say otherwise are naive or controversial at best. Many groups have come before them, and many will after, but this is the time of their lives. What better way to spend it with friends?

Fan wars aside, most groups and soloists get along. Aside from a few bad eggs, any groups of people has them, they enjoy each others company. This is their job. Idols may be passionate about their job, but for most it's not a competition. In fact, many idols from all different labels are friends, if not best friends. There are notorious "lines" with group chats. Others collaborate often and enjoy working together. Others keep their relationship behind closed doors. Especially if that relationship is beyond just friends.

These idols have found something great. A close group of friends who have helped each other through thick and thin. Going out for dinners, late night karaoke, hilarious text conversations, special stages, and dare I say a little romance. Each with their own struggles, own failures and own strengths. Let's just hope dispatch doesn't ruin our fun.

companies, groups, and soloists... oh my

Companies
There are many label companies. Each with their own reputation and level of success. There are two huge companies that seem to rule the stage.

QaG Entertainment
Dubbed the lesser of two evils, QaG was founded by Jeong Dae-Geun. The multi-million dollar company is one of the oldest in the industry. It is often said that idols from QaG have some of the strictest contracts when first signing. They often include dating bans and strict weight and dietary requirements. They have a total of 7 groups under their main label, four boy groups and three girl groups, as well as some duos and many soloists.

WAVE Entertainment
The second oldest company with even more of a reputation. It was created, and headed, Kim Sung-Il. Having a few lawsuits been thrown their way, especially in the last year, has called into question their dealings with their talent. With a grand total of 5 groups, 3 duos, and even more soloists, they have quite the staff. Their contracts are extremely strict, even taking most some creative freedom from their artists.

Other companies include:
DayDream Entertainment
A small company that has come out in the past few years. With their female CEO, Han Da-Yun, their artists seem to push barriers with music and fashion. They have two groups and three soloists. Idols are give a lot of freedoms within the company to be themselves and to create what they'd like. They are very art focused.

BNH Entertainment
After the huge success of their first boy group, they have skyrocketed to the top in less than five years. A lot of people have high hopes for this company to help clean up the king and queen of entertainment. They value their artists, though are more traditional in values. They have since debuted one new group in addition to the first, as well as signed a soloist .

Pantomime
Bigger in comparison to companies the same age, Pantomime is a bit in the middle when it comes to their dealings with idols. They have a tendency to overreact to certain issues and rumors. While their contracts may not be as confining, negative press will be sure to put one in hot water. A few scandals recently left a few groups missing members. You can say some fans are a bit outraged over how the company seems to feed their idols to the wolves instead of protecting them. They have a total of 3 groups, two duos, and 7 soloists.

Groups
These are some of the most popular groups and notable members.

Boy Groups
QaG
MWD (Magnificence With Dedication) - 5 member group that debuted in 2012. Their fan name is Majesties. MWD debuted with a royal concept that would follow their journey starting from knights in order to become kings. Since their debut, they have released five full-length albums and multiple EPs. Their music is known for having addictive melodies where they mix classical sounds with different genres like R&B and future bass. Their official colors are crimson red and royal blue.
Notable Members: Baek Sung-Woo
ViVid- 7 member group that debuted in 2017. Their fan name is ํ™”๋ฏธ (hwami, meaning splendor). ViVid debuted with a bright fun concept with their EP "Lemon Yellow". With each new comeback, they've changed their color theme. The color sets the tone of the album. Since they have released two full albums. "Cadet Blue" was their first comeback. It was an energetic, space exploration theme that had their signature boyish charm. Their most recent comeback, "Eerie Black", broke their norm with a dark horror concept.
Notable members: Kim Seung-Jun and Hong Red (Joon)

WAVE
2BInfinity- 9 member group that debuted in 2014.

DayDream
Creativity In You (CIY)- 13 member group that debuted in 2016. Their fan name is visionary (individuals: visionaries). Their group was made to create. They focus on art, their concepts based on the message. They have a unique sound that is often a fusion of different genres. Their dance is full of group work, with synchronicity and teamwork that the group is proud of. They are almost entirely self produced and self choreographed. They have had three full album releases and four EPs. Each with a different 'story', some personal and some not. Their most recent comeback was a full length album "Birth to Death" with title track "Lived". The album has an underlying classical sound, as it takes the listener through each stage of life.
Notable Members: Park Ari

BNH
LGND (Live Greatly, Never Doubt)- 6 member group that debuted in 2015. Their fan name is legendaries and their official colors are gold and violet. No one can become a legend overnight. LGND's concept is to work their way into being legends. Their debut ep had 4 pop songs and each ep after, they add one more song and alter their sound slightly. Their first full length album had 11 songs and each album after added one more. They just released their fourth full length, total of 15 songs, with a really gritty rock ballad sound.
Notable Members: Palmer Jeong and Quinn Lee

Girl Groups
QaG
Youth Fountain- 6 member group that debuted in 2019. Their fan name is HEBE. Youth fountain debuted with a bright & bubbly concept that alluded to their name, to bring "youth" and joy to those who listened to their music! They debuted early in 2019 and came back in october of the same year with an exploration of the girl crush concept with an EP titled "heaven&hell", title track "elysium". the EP featured a total of 5 tracks.
Notable Members: Son Eunbi and Myeong Soo-Ah
WAVE
MIX5- 9 member group that debuted in 2013. Their fan name is Jewel. They have a very sweet and adorable vibe. The strive to be bright and excited. MIX5 is well known for their girly concepts. Their music is mostly bubblegum pop, though a few comebacks have strayed a little outside of that.
Blossom- 4 member group that debuted in 2017. Their fan name is Solis. Blossom debuted with a concept where each member would represent one of the four seasons showing in every comeback a new charm and evolving as an artist just like the seasons do. Since their debut, they had released two full-length studio albums. Ther music is known for its intense and sophisticated melodies mixed with the current sounds, that are made to showcase the different charms from the members. Their official colors are emerald green and aubergine.
Notable Members: Lee Nari & Baek Ji-Eun

BNH
Voyage- 11 member group that debuted in 2018.

Pantomime
V!CTRY- 8 member group that debuted in 2016.

Mixed Gender Groups
WAVE
MXFusion- 4 member subunit between MIX5 and 2BInfinity that had it's first, and only, EP come out in 2016. A new comeback has been rumored to be around the corner.

DayDream
Yin/Yang (Y/Y)- 8-member group that debuted in Summer of 2018. Their general fan name is โ€œdualsโ€, but fans have the option to specify their loyalty to either subunit by using their respective fan names. Y/Yโ€™s concept revolves around the idea of contrasting ideals while exploring the meaning of โ€œYin & Yang.โ€ Their two subunits strictly adhere to their light and dark assignments both on stage and off stage (during v lives and variety shows). The two subunit groups only collab with each other during concerts. Other than that, they rarely promote together and are regarded as their own separate groups.
----- Night/Fall
Night/Fall is the darker subunit of Y/Y (all older members are in this subunit). Their subunit fan name is โ€œumbrasโ€ because the members consider the name to be very picturesque, which is โ€œa perfect description of our fanbase.โ€ Night/Fall focuses on more gritty rock songs (with a touch of electronic here and there) that typically have a deeper meaning behind them. These songs can vary in energy. According to fans, Night/Fall is not seen to be as strong in vocals (compared to Sun/Rise), but rather the โ€œdancing kinds/queensโ€ of Y/Y (due to how their songs are also choreo-heavy). Their first EP was called โ€œBerserk.โ€
Notable Members: Min Galaxy
----- Sun/Rise

Soloists
These soloists are the most notable among kpop fans.

Male
Moon Hwan (under QaG)- Making his solo debut in 2018, Hwan moved on from disbanded group Aftermath to make his own name. Within his two years, he has taken the world by storm. His concepts have ranged from aegyo to "dirty sexy". Hwan's duality is a huge part of his brand.
Ju Song-Bin (under WAVE)- Debuting in 2015, Song-Bin is well known for his superior vocals. He is a ballad singer and has been a part of many ost albums, as well as acted quite a bit.
Alex Kim (under Pantomime)- The solo rapper made his debut in 2016. He had started as a producer for different groups until he decided he wanted to try and make his own music. He is an idol favorite, not just because he makes extraordinary bops, but he's just a great dude. Alex is one of those idols who's friends with everyone. It doesn't matter if you stan him or not, you know who he is.

Female
Younah (under QaG)- Debuted in 2014. She is most notable for her girl crush concepts and spitting killer bars. Her dancing is some of the best in the industry, even compared to some of the other male soloists. Everyone loves Younah, she's a certified queen.
Katherine Hong (under DayDream)- The former MIX5 member made her debut as a soloist in 2018 after leaving WAVE Entertainment in 2016. She has a singer-songwriter vibe and really shines in her ability to write and produce songs. She's written some for other groups, including Yin/Yang and CIY.
Park Ha-Jung (under Pantomime)- With a diverse new sound, Ha-Jung is fresh to the kpop scene, only debuting in 2019. Her debut song went to top the charts for it's retro feel. Ha-Jung shows great promise on stage, and everyone is excited to watch her grow.

Thank you so much for all the support from hwami today!! We had such a fun stage. I want to meet you again soon!๐Ÿ’œ#์Šน์ค€ #ํ™”๋ฏธ

Personality:
Seung-Jun is a very bright and energetic person. He tries his absolute best to make sure everyone is having fun and smiling. Even if he is the second oldest in the group, Jun often is labeled the fake maknae for his excitable nature. He's always making jokes, or doing stupid things. He treats his dongsangs like babies. Having had two older sisters who babied him relentlessly, it feels like his turn to cuddle his younger members. While he is very fun and bright, he can be mature when he needs to be. Jun is always there for his younger members and friends. He is ready to listen and then help in any way he can. Jun is very much so a go getter and party planner. An extrovert, truly, he never wants to stay inside. Mostly because when he stays at home and does nothing, he has to be alone with his feelings.

In his relatively short life, he's had quite a few heartbreaks and hardships. It seems that anytime he makes one tiny mistake, it's a death sentence with the public. He isn't sure why he's been targeted, but he has been. Hate comment after hate comment has really messed with his self-esteem. Seung-Jun has the habit of saying he's fine, even if he isn't. He uses humor and his bright personality to deflect his struggles. He likes to deal with things on his own, not wanting to burden others with his problems when they have their own. Jun often overloads himself with trying to fix everyone else, he often neglects himself in the process.

Positive Traits:
+optimistic
+fun and energetic
+warm and loving

Negative Traits:
-Private
-Overworks himself
-Clingy

Likes:
Coffee, parties, going out, karaoke, making people laugh, when his dongsangs do aegyo, Hwami, performing, dad puns

Dislikes:
Horror movies, being alone, others ignoring him, hate comments (of course), disrespect, vr games (they make him sick)

Favorite thing about being an idol:
"I love interacting with fans. Hearing someone tell me that I made them smile in difficult times keeps me going. They are the number one reason I keep doing this. Well, that and my members. I don't think I could live without those guys."

Least Favorite thing about being an idol:
"The worst thing is being watched all the time. Sure, I will admit I like attention, but to always have the public watching you? It's harder than I could have thought. It's not fun to see your name all over the internet in a negative way. Trust me, I know."

I can't believe this. I know exactly why he couldn't tell his right foot from his left. Too focused on some slut probably.
why do they keep Jun around any more?? he can't dance and he can barely hold a tune. It'd be different if he was cute, but...
Right?! He's holding ViVid back and giving them a bad name. #Only6 #KickSeungJun

History:
Kim Seung-Jun was born and raised in Seoul in a middle class family. He never had a lot, but they always had food on the table. The third and last child in the family, he had a loving relationship with his sisters and parents. When he was little, his oldest sister had an interest in dance, which made him interested in dance. Seung-Jun joined his sister in ballet, he liked it a lot and did fairly well, not spectacularly but good for a 9 year old. He always enjoyed singing. He performed in a few talent shows here and there during middle school. He didn't really know what he wanted to do with his life, until a friend helped him out.

Growing up, Seung-Jun had a lot of friends. He has always loved being with people. One particular friend had his heart set on being an idol. Jun thought that it was cool, the idea of performing was exciting. His friend wanted to go for an audition and told Jun that he should go and audition too, hoping to get into the same company together. Seung-Jun and his friend both passed their audition. At 16, he became a trainee for QaG Entertainment. He worked hard, too hard at times, but eventually he debuted with ViVid 4 years later at the age of 20.

It was around this time that he reconnected with a family friend. Mi-Sun was someone who he had known for the majority of his life, yet they lost contact when he became a trainee. When visiting his family, he happened to run into her since she worked in her family's store. The two hit it off once again. They decided to keep in touch. That they did. A little over a year after their reunion they decided to start dating. The problem? Seung-Jun by contract wasn't allowed to date. Not just that, but the negativity that surrounded idols when they were exposed for dating was a huge pressure. He didn't really think about all that. He just knew that he really liked Mi-Sun and she made him happy.

They dated in secret for a year and a half, the only people who knew about it were their parents and a few of the other ViVid members. He loved Mi-Sun, and still does in some way. Seung-Jun's relationship with Mi-Sun was never exposed. Dating rumors did, however, come out about him. It was between him and another female idol. It was untrue, of course, but the backlash he got over it was awful. He had always been one to be targeted by hate in their group, one of the least favorite members. This just turned up the heat, giving them even more of a reason to come after him.

But it made him realize something. Since he was an idol, Seung-Jun could never give Mi-Sun a normal life. Thinking about how bad it would be for Mi-Sun if word actually came out about their relationship, he knew he couldn't put her through that. She deserved better than to be hated. So he broke up with her, telling himself it was for the best.

That wasn't the end of his scandals though. He got a speeding ticket and was called reckless and a danger to society. They dug up a video of him and a friend jokingly covering a song that deemed socially unacceptable, he was 17 when he made the video. Apparently that didn't matter because it was thrown into his face to prove he was Insensitive. His latest scandal (about 6 months ago), a second round of dating rumors, came at a horrible time.

ViVid was in the middle of tour with their newest comeback. They were in Japan for two weekends. It had been three days since dating rumors had come out between him and a female friend of his. It was only a few hours before day two of their concerts when he got a phone call. One no one ever wants to get. His mother told him that his father had suffered a fatal heart attack. Seung-Jun was in complete shock. He didn't know what to do. His Eomma told him not to come home, even confessing that she shouldn't have told him. When he talked to his manager about going home, he told him that they were leaving shortly after finishing the concert. He also told Jun that he'd let Hwami down if he left, that he could go through one concert, that it'd take his mind off of things. He regretted believing that was true. That concert was living hell for Jun. He couldn't focus, he made countless mistakes, his vocals we're all over the place, and every time he came off stage he broke down. He felt awful, first for not being with his family and second for putting on a terrible show.

Seung-Jun's second regret was not talking about the loss of his father. It only pushed the narrative that he didn't belong in ViVid, that he wasn't dedicated to Hwami. He didn't want to worry people, or burden them with his problems. If he was going to suffer, he'd do it in silence. Seung-Jun knew that there were people who still supported him, who loved him, but the voices of hate are often louder than anyone else. It's been 6 months. Things have calmed some, there are still some instances of people on vlive who speak their mind or a comment on his social media posts. But to Jun it feels like only a matter of time before they find something else to crucify him for. And has he dealt with the loss of his father? Not in the slightest.

Personality:
Katherine in her personal life is very quiet. She is an introvert, needing time away from others to truly relax and unwind. One to express more in lyrics than in conversation. Crying or laughing along with everyone, Kat likes to be involved without saying too much herself in a group That normally goes out the window over the internet, as she will respond rapidly to texts and tweet out just about anything. Something about being behind a screen helps with her quiet tendencies. She likes to observe rather than jump in. Those powers of observation have gotten very good over the years. Kat has an excellent ability to read people. She can normally pick up on small things, like hidden uncomfortableness or suppressed excitement. She likes to use this skill of hers to help her friends, to try and draw others out who may be hurt but not wanting to burden others. She may be quiet, but she is not shy. Don't doubt that when she needs to, she can speak up. If it's in defense of others, or to tell someone they've crossed a line, Kat isn't afraid to be the voice of reason. Very calm in the face of conflict, she is an excellent mediator when it comes to others and her self. She likes it when everyone gets along and will do everything in her power to make it happen.

A lot of time though, she can seem as standoffish. Unless spoken too, Kat normally doesn't engage in conversation. Sometimes this can come off as coldness. It really is nothing against anyone, Kat is a quiet cheerleader with smiles and encouraging texts after the fact. She is always ready and willing to give advice or just listen to her friends when they have problems. She has a mind buzzing with creativity that can often put her in a distracted state, a girl with her head in the clouds. She likes to stick to what she knows (except when writing music) and keep her routine. Kat is not very adventurous in her daily life. Pressured enough, she will go outside her comfort zone, but she will complain along the way. The woman often takes herself too seriously and can be very sensitive. Her self-esteem, though better than it used to be, is still very low. Any criticism, whether constructive or not, often hurts her feelings. Katherine tries hard to not let anything get to her, but she just can't help it. While she will stand up for what she believes is right and for her friends and family, she often finds it difficult to do for herself. When it comes to topics of her appearance and abilities, she shrinks back and holds in her defense. Mostly because her own view of self worth is warped. Kat's working on becoming more comfortable with herself. Just like every big change, it takes time.

Positive Traits:
+ Observant
+ Creative
+ Helpful

Negative Traits:
- Sensitive
- Quiet
- Routine oriented

Likes:
making music, reading, writing lyrics, baking, stars, constellations, and being helpful

Dislikes:
being annoying, criticism, going out of her comfort zone, diets, being disrespected, and WAVE entertainment.

Favorite thing about being an idol:
"My passion is music. It's a language of its own that breaks down barriers and brings people together. I love making songs for people to enjoy. Making lyrics that make people stop and think is just amazing. Now that I have all the creative liberties I want, I'd like to explore more mature, more personal themes with my lyrics. If my stories can help others, why wouldn't I want to share them?"

Least Favorite thing about being an idol:
"The industry is not...always fair. I liked being a part of a group. Those girls are my family. I just couldn't handle being so controlled by my old label. A lot of times things aren't handled how they should be and that causes damage. What the public sees and hears is often very different from what happens. So it may look bright and colorful but being an idol is more difficult than people believe it to be."

MIX5 is 10. i miss rinrin so much! :c i wish wave would let her back. why did she even leave??
mee too! her solo stuff is so her, y'know. i dunno y she left. they just said she terminated her contract.
i know on ig kat said she wanted more freedom. i feel like there's more to the story tho...
rin loved the other girls so much, there has to be a better reason than that. i just wanna know so bad T.T

History:
Kathrine was born in Miami, Florida to her two loving parents. She spent her childhood in the United States as both her parents moved there before she was born, her mother was only a young girl when she moved to America. Kat was introduced to music early in her life. Her parents wanted her to be well a rounded person so they had her in various after school activities all throughout elementary school. The one she loved the most? Piano lessons. She excelled in playing piano, surprising her teacher at the speed she picked up the skill. By the age of 11 she was writing her own music. It may have been about her pet hamster and playing with her friends, but they were cute and endearing. Her parents could see her love for music grow and grow as she got older. They sent her to a school more geared towards musically gifted children. They were always supportive of her interests. While in the arts school, she picked up how to play guitar, even getting one herself because she enjoyed it so much. Kat further experimented with musical genres and ways to create music.

Though her life got turned a little upside down at the age of 15 when her family moved to Seoul, South Korea to take care of her grandmother after her grandfather passed away. That was a huge adjustment. A completely different culture to learn, new friends to make, and she wasn't even fluent in Korean. Sure, her parents spoke it and she could understand, for the most part, what was going on, but speaking it was a different story. She had a rough time while in school adjusting. At this point Kat relied on music to help her escape from the stress that was going on around her.

By the time she was 17, she had settled into a new routine, not 100% but decent enough. She had made a few friends due to the fact she joined the music club at her school. A talent show was coming up and on of her friends convinced her to play one of her songs. Kat was told that there would be talent scouts there and she might get offers from a company to join. Kat liked the idea of creating music for a living. When she moved to Korea she though that going into the K-pop industry sounded like the perfect place for her. Excited about the opportunity, Kathrine played at the talent show a song she had made herself. After the show, she got offers from a few entertainment companies to join as a trainee.

She talked it over with her parents and they decided to give WAVE a call. Kat came into the offices to sign contracts expecting to be added onto a production team. She was surprised to find out that they wanted her for their debut project MIX5. Already past audition and onto her contract details, she felt there was no other option. She trained for a total of 7 months, being the last added to the line up of the group. She found out that she loved the other girls and that performing with them would be really fun. When they debuted, she thought she could give up writing music for now, maybe in the future when she had more of a name she could. She was just 18 at the time.

Their debut was a huge success and they grew in popularity quickly. There had been a personnel switch due to that. Her personal manager was replaced with a man named Yu Sang-Hoon. Manager Yu seemed like a very nice person, and he did his job well. The two got along decently well, even if he was so much older than her, because Kat was such a friendly person. She blamed herself for being so nice for a very long time. Things started to seem weird between her and Manager Yu. It started with the things he said about her. His "compliments" made her feel uncomfortable. She wasn't aware at the time, since it had happened so gradually, that she was being sexually harassed.

Things escalated from words to actions. Something that started as an unwanted hands on her thigh eventually built. She remembers distinctly the day he first decided to grab her butt. When her initial shock faded, Kat's hand flew to slap him across the face. His reaction was to grab her wrist and twist her arm painfully, telling her that he could do as he pleased, saying if she said anything she'd never work in the industry again, and she'd make him angry. "This is me being nice" were the words that followed. She left terrified. Kat didn't say anything. She tried, unsuccessfully, to avoid being alone with Manager Yu. The final straw was one day after a music bank performance. A few days after turning 21, Kat had just gotten back to the dressing room. And there he was.

Maybe he thought he locked the door, or maybe he got too cocky, but Kat will forever be grateful for the stylist that walked in that day. She feels sick to this day thinking about what could have happened if he hadn't been interrupted. She couldn't let that happen to her, or to anyone else. So she finally worked up the nerve to speak up. She kept it quite from everyone but their group manager who put her in touch with the CEO. That conversation did not go like she had expected. When she had told her experience of course they asked Manager Yu about the truth. He had told them that she was just saying things to get attention and got the stylist involved with a sob story. The worst part? They said there was nothing they could do. It was all a "he said she said" sort of situation with no objective evidence.

She couldn't stay in a company that allowed their artists to be put in harms way. Kat told her members about what had happened, she told them that they should leave too. No one else wanted to go. Fed up with the lies, the empty promises, the faked empathy and compassion, Kat ended her contract early with WAVE. To the public she wanted to make her own music, but really she was sick of being used and abused.

Kathrine took a 6 month hiatus from all social media and from anything relating to the music industry. The only thing she continued was to create new music herself. After that time she was approached by the CEO of DayDream, she had heard some of the songs Kat had created and posted on YouTube and was very impressed. She offered her a spot as a solo act with all the freedoms she wanted. After relating the reason why she left the entertainment industry in the first place, CEO Han promised to do anything that would make her comfortable. Which even meant hiring an all female staff if she wanted. Kathrine needed some time to think, even if this was everything she wanted. She had been burned before, was this something she could do? Would she loose even more by continuing as an idol?

Then the thought came to her. If Kat no longer pursued music, her whole dream, her true passion, then who won? He did. If she let him continue to ruin her life, to crush her dream, Kat would forever be under her abuser's thumb and he would have been successful. She couldn't let that happen. So she accepted the offer from DayDream and got to work on her first solo album. When it was released, everyone was in love with it. That was her work. Her success. She wasn't force fed lines or forced to wear something that made her uncomfortable. She, for the first time, felt empowered as an artist. Now, with some regained self-confidence, Kat doesn't know how much longer she'll keep silent to her fans and the public about what she's been through. A even more personal album seems to be in the works. She isn't totally healed, of course, being degraded and treated like an object for so long really messed with her sense of self. But she's on her path to recovery, hoping to find herself for the first time in her life.

Gender : Female
Sexuality : Heterosexual
P.O.B : Busan, South Korea
Member of : Youth Fountain
Company : QaG
Position(s) : Vocalist & (Evil) Maknae
visage.
Height : 158 cm (5โ€™2โ€)
*she WILL pop off if you call her short
Weight : 43 kb (95 lbs)
Eye Color : Dark Brown
Hair Color : Her natural hair color is black and she'd rather keep it that color
Body Type : Ectomorph
Notable Features : Pouty lips // Rosy Cheeks // Baby Face (in general) // Has a resting bitch face
Body Mods : She usually wears earrings of all shapes and sizes
Style : ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’
persona.
|| Soo-Ah has a very youthful appearance that gives off the faรงade of naivety and innocence, but in all actuality she might as well be the devil incarnate. Loud and boisterous, this tiny devil is not afraid to speak what everyone hasnโ€™t the balls to say. Her straightforward and sassy attitude puts her at the bottom of the list for โ€œmost approachable people,โ€ and that should drive her to change for the betterโ€ฆ if she cared enough. She is not one to be angry all the time, yet considering her temperamental nature, avoiding an angry Soo-ah still proves to be a challenge for her fellow group members.

In front of fans, Soo-Ah is surprisingly sweet, as if she had truly embraced the stereotype associated with her appearance (though we all know that is not true). She adores Youth Fountainโ€™s fans and would practically do anything for them, an opportunity she does not give the other members all that often. However, despite all of the biting she may do or the insults she may throw around without a second thought, she does sincerely care for her members. In a way, she is a puppy with a bark but no bite. She will not outright say she loves her membersโ€”neither will she be too overbearing with physical affectionโ€”but will demonstrate her affection through other means (rare compliments and seemingly-insignificant gestures/actions). Though she may not act like it, she does have a heart of gold and if her members are struggling emotionally, sheโ€™ll be there for support and comfort.

- positive traits :
๐Ÿ’Confident
: She lacks the care and patience to deal with rude comments about herself, so she simply pays no attention to them. Soo-ah is even quicker to tell that person off as well.
*That is not to say they do not get past her defenses every once in a while.
๐Ÿ’Diligent : Often times she spends until early in the morning practicing her dancing and working on her vocals. Her work ethic can be a source of perseverance for the other members.
*She does not get much sleep as a result
๐Ÿ’Energetic :For a stoic girl, Soo-ah is actually a very excitable person. Within a few minutes of keeping still, someone can see her beginning to fidget, play with her hair, or outright tackle one of her members. Any way to release the energy sheโ€™s kept inside is fair game. Due to this, she is also known to play rather rough.
*Her spontaneous bursts of energy can also be annoying but who wouldnโ€™t want to see a small Soo-ah jumping up and down in place because sheโ€™s hyper? Warning: NEVER give her coffee, tea is a better, safer alternative.
๐Ÿ’Protective : Someone is bound to get cancelled if they hurt either the other membersโ€™ feelings or her friendsโ€™ feelings. She may be small but she will kick, bite and scratch if when she tracks down the person who made her friends cry.
*Her protectiveness can come off a possessive as well

- negative traits :
๐Ÿ’Clingy / Dependent
: She is the maknae, it would only make sense for her to stick to her unnies like glue wherever they go. She expects to be hand-fed and she expects to be cuddled, even though she always refuses it.
๐Ÿ’Attention-Seeker : Soo-ah likes being the center of attention, or rather she likes receiving all of the attention. This may be the only time she becomes selfish in the presence of the other members or friends.
๐Ÿ’Blunt :Her frankness saves her time from beating around the bush. If she does not like you, she will tell youโ€ฆ and she will not give a shit about it either.
*With her unnies, she is quick to apologize if her straightforward comments have dulled their mood. Distinguishing between her dry sense of humor and an insult is very difficult.
๐Ÿ’Hot-tempered : Another definition for Soo-ah would be: a ticking time bomb waiting to explode at any given moment. Though, as quick as she is to become infuriated, she is also quick to calm down.
*Rarely does this girl hold a grudge unless the person has wronged her beyond what she can forgive.

- likes :
๐Ÿ’ Sweets
๐Ÿ’ Cherry Red
๐Ÿ’ Fruits
๐Ÿ’ Gaming (surprising?)
๐Ÿ’ Performing
๐Ÿ’ HEBEs
๐Ÿ’ Coffee Tea
๐Ÿ’ Attention

- dislikes :
๐Ÿ’ โ€œPeopleโ€
๐Ÿ’ Spicy Food (she cannot take spice)
๐Ÿ’ Snakes
๐Ÿ’ Swimming (she almost drowned as a child)
๐Ÿ’ Rude fans
๐Ÿ’ Crying in front of people
๐Ÿ’ Makeup
๐Ÿ’ When she is emotionally-unstable

Favorite thing(s) about being an idol : HEBEs and Performing
Least Favorite thing about being an idol : The constricting outfits
Favorite Food : Pizza
Favorite Color : Cherry Red
Favorite Group(s) : Dreamcatcher & (G)I-DLE
Theme Song : TBA
Role Model : Galaxy (Night/Fall)
Ideal type : Someone who can put up with her antics
archive.

History : W.I.P

What made them want to be an Idol? : For her little sister. Yoo-Bi had always commented on how good of a singer Soo-Ah was and how she should be an idol. Considering how Yoo-Bi is physically unable to become an idol herself, she wanted to see her big sister do what she couldn't. After being scouted a few years ago, Soo-Ah simply took the offer.

Given Name: Baek Sung-woo
Nickname/alias/stage name: Sung-woo
Age: 23
d.o.b: June 14th
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
p.o.b: Goyang, Gyeonggi Province
Group: MWD
Company: QaG
Position(s): Leader, Main Vocal, Lead Dancer

Appearance
Height: 5'10"/178 cm
Weight: 139lbs/ 63 kg
Eye Color: Dark brown
Hair Color: Black might get dyed depending on the comeback
Body Type: Ectomorph
Notable Features: Eyes
Body Mods: N/A
Style: X X X X

Persona
Personality: Sung-woo is an introvert with a heart of gold, he is the type of person that would lend you a shoulder to cry on or that would bail you out of jail if needed. Since he was a kid he never liked to stand out thinking he wasn't good enough to be in the spotlight, he preferred just being surrounded by the person that he really trusted. That changed when he became an idol and somehow managed to not feel awkward and weird when he saw his face all over social media, but that didn't mean that made him an extroverted.

He is known for being neutral and made everything get along and trying to solve people's problems in a rational way. Some people would describe Sung-woo as a people pleaser that would do anything for them if that meant problems would be formed, but as much as he doesn't like conflict he doesn't like to share his problems on emotions, he has always seemed that showing how he really feels is just a burden for everyone when he is supposed to be the pillar for everyone.

He has bottled up his emotions not giving a hint that he just needs someone to listen to him and tell him that everything would be okay, instead, he just shows his calm and collected persona, that is loved and appreciated by everyone
Positive traits:
  • Hardworking
  • Leaderly
  • Cooperative
  • Organized
  • Patient
Negative traits:
  • Cautious
  • Insecure
  • Gullible
  • Secretive
Likes: Composing, photography, gaming, playing the piano, going out with friends.
Dislikes: Messy places, dark coffee, scandals, dissapointing people, getting sick.
Favorite thing about being an idol: "Being able to do something I'm passionate, being able to see all the fans that have been followed MWD since the debut and also the new fans, seeing their smiles when they get to meet us or when we release new music. I guess brighten the life of someone even if it's just for a moment is what makes me want to continue"
Least Favorite thing about being an idol: "The pressure of always being perfect, people sometimes forget that we are still human and we don't always have good days, that we still get hurt and that we have feelings, we have to become this ideal of perfection that they want and the smallest mistake or sign that we show weakness we get criticized. Also the pressure of staying relevant in an industry where tons of groups and soloists debut every day after a certain time you just develop a fear of wanting to know if you are still good enough nowaday"

Background
History: Sung-woo was born and raised in Goyang, while growing up his parents always encouraged music and dance to him and his younger sister. While his sister was more interested in dance, Sung-woo became more interested in playing the piano and choir, he felt more secure not being the point of attention like her sister did, that's when he started developing his passion for music and started dreaming that maybe he could become a musician if he worked hard enough.

At the age of 12, he was obliged to accompany Ji-eun to an audition since his little sister was set on becoming an idol and him coming with her as the only way their parents would allow her to go, in the beginning, he only did it for Ji-eun, becoming an idol wasn't part of his plans, in fact, that idea never crossed his mind, he wanted to become a musician but he thought that he would study music or as a crazy idea to join a band, he thought the flashy world of an idol wasn't meant for someone like Sung-woo that didn't like to stand out.

While Ji-eun was rejected for her young age he passed the audition and was accepted as a trainee in QaG, he decided to give it a try because his family to encourage him since an important company saw that he was talented and that they believed he could make it. So at the age of 12, he became a trainee, spending 3 years practicing in order to debut as time passed new trainees and in 2012 MWD was formed with him being the leader of the group.

Coming from a big company, everyone had their eyes on the debut of MWD which thankfully was well received by the public and they developed a big fanbase soon. But even if they were successful and they were loved by the public, no one told Sung-woo it would be easier to be a leader, trying to keep order in the group and being the one that everyone would rely on when they had a problem, made Sung-woo bottle up all his problems and emotions, he couldn't let them see that he was weak when he was supposed to be the pillar of the group.

Time passed and MWD became one of the most loved groups in Korea, but even if they were at the top that didn't mean that they would continue for a long time he knew it was inevitable that the company would debut another male group after 5 years od their debut QaG needed the next big thing, that made an uncertainty being created inside of Sung-woo''s mind. Did that mean that the company was starting to see them as an old group that wasn't able to compete with the newly debuted groups? Would all the attention of the company go to the new group and they would just be abandon with no new comebacks? If that happened, he was sure it was going to be all his fault for not being able to be a good leader and made MWD a better group than he thought they already were.

When the time to resign their contracts came, he made sure that all the members believed in him that MWD still had a long way and that they needed to trust him and with that, all of them signed again with QaG, he wasn't sure if it was the fear of not knowing what would happen if MWD disbanded and what would be of him, would he be able to make it alone without his members? He couldn't think of an answer, but the weight of making the members believing in him and the group just became heavier on Sung-woo's shoulders. Even if he tries to not show it, he knows there's starting to form some cracks on his armour and is just a matter of time where everything would come down and maybe that would be the downfall of Baek Sung-woo.

What made them want to be an Idol?: Sung-woo never desired to become an idol at the beginning, he knew he wanted to be a musician, but being an idol was never in his plans, being more of an introverted, he never thought he would be a good fit to the flashy world of a kpop star, he only went to an audition because his parents would only allow his sister to take the audition if he went with her, he passed the audition at QaG and decided to give it a try and that's when he became a trainee.

Persona
Personality: Out of the two Baek siblings, Ji-eun has always been the extroverted one, the one that wasn't afraid to talk to someone new and get to know them, she is the type of person that would call you at 3:00 am because she wants someone to watch the night sky with her. She enjoys being surrounded by people rather than being alone.

Since she was a kid Ji-eun liked being the center of attention but not as a spoilt kid, she enjoyed showing everyone her improvements in dancing and having acknowledged her hard work. That was one of the main reasons she wanted to become an idol to be able to have people being mesmerized by her abilities and doing something she loved.

She is known for her duality in and out of the stage, while she is performing she likes to showcase this chic and badass side of her that would attract everyone to her and give the most in every performance while out of stage she is just a ball of energy that is ready to find something fun to do.

Even if Ji-eun is confident and extroverted, she also carries her heart on her sleeve, mean comments about her appearance or her personality affects her deeply, she makes sure to brush it off as much as she can but the constant reminder that she is not perfect is always in the back of her head

Positive traits:
  • Charismatic
  • Confident
  • Dedicated
  • Fun-loving
  • Reliable
Negative traits:
  • Childish
  • Impatient
  • Opinionated
  • Vulnerable
Likes: Sweets, dancing, performing, telling jokes, karaoke
Dislikes: getting hurt, closed spaces, rollercoasters, making mistakes, uncomfortable clothes
Favorite thing about being an idol: Seeing all the fans and how they get excited with our music also being able to be on stage and showcased all our hard work and being able to something that I love and that makes me happy.
Least Favorite thing about being an idol: Living up to everyone's expectation and showcase the version of herself that everyone wants her to be, she sometimes feels that she is not being true to herself. Even if she loves her fans she doesn't like it when you have to become the ideal of the woman that they like.

Background
History: Ji-eun was born and raised in Goyang since they were kids her and her older brother took music and dance classes, while her brother got more interested in spending hours sitting on a piano and playing an instrument he got more interested in dance, ballet, jazz any style that you could think off Ji-eun wanted to learn it. Since she was a kid she knew she wanted to be on stage, seeing all those idols dancing and singing she was sure she wanted to become like them.

She had made her goal to become an idol and no one could stop her, at the age of 9 she managed to convince her parents to let her go to an audition the only way they agree was if Sung-woo went with her at that time she didn't care and her brother only did it because he was obligated, long story short, her brother was accepted and she was rejected because she was too young at that time even if she was happy for Sung-woo she felt jealous that he that didn't have a desire to become an idol was able to obtain the opportunity that she was desiring.

As his brother moved to Seoul to become a trainee, she went back to Goyang she wouldn't let this bring her down she would practice more so they would accept her no matter how old she was. At the age of 13, she went back to Seoul for another chance to become a trainee this time she went to WAVE where they accepted her and became a trainee for 4 years until she debuted as a member of Blossom in 2017.

What made them want to be an Idol?: Since she was just a kid Ji-eun always knew she wanted to be on a stage, she would spend hours trying to copy the dances of her favorite songs and making her own concerts in her bedroom, she had a passion to do something she found so intriguing and mesmerizing.

โ€”PERSONA.
positives.
Easygoing and expressive in day-to-day conversation, Quinn has a quick wit and engaging manner of interacting with others. He remains generally quick-witted and charismatic, finding comfort in making people smile or laugh in any situation. His strong sense of humor and keen sense of observation, especially towards body language, make him easier to get along with than most other idols. When it comes to decision-making, Quinn refuses to get ahead of himself and tends to have an analytical perspective. Such a mindset helps him remain rational and practical in panic-inducing circumstances, allowing him to respond in a manner that is both quick and appropriate for the situation.
negatives.
On the other hand, he often finds herself running low on patience and getting frustrated if someone else isn't performing up to his standards. Already relatively detached from the sensitivities of others, this flaw sometimes results in blunt, honest remarks that come out harsher than he may have meant them. On top of this, Quinn can get in a depressive rut at times when things start wearing on him mentally, and this often results in him rejecting any sort of affection from his members. The only one who is capable of reaching him at times like these is Jeongho, since nearly every other member pisses him off on sight.
likes.
legendaries, dancing, rapping, busking, fried foods, learning new things, sleeping, cats, coffee, alcohol, and cuddling.
dislikes.
being woken up, singing, dieting, romance movies, yoga, hiking, opening up about his feelings, and aegyo.
favorite thing about being ana idol.
he gets to dance literally all the time. more often than not, their choreos aren't the style that he grew up dancing, so he's constantly broadening his horizons. on top of that, rap has always been close to his heart, and writing his own verses was a necessity in order for him to sign with BNH.
Least Favorite thing about being an idol.
the image that he has to keep up in order to not be socially exiled. he took the freedom of expression in the west for granted, and was now struggling to keep up the image of a "perfect, single, cool idol" that his fans expected. he loves legendaries with his whole heart, but he knows the louder voices will always be those with prejudice in their hearts.

โ€”BACKSTORY.
why did they want to be an idol?
quinn's love for dance is unrivaled in the current scene; the boy lives, eats, and breathes dance with every fiber of his being. being able to spit some bars was a nice bonus that he was able to polish once he began the training process.
family.
his father and mother live in busan, while his two older sisters have full-time jobs in canada.
notable relationships.
Quinn is close with his group members, but is especially close with palmer because he speaks english.
other.
he has a black cat named "Gureum" back home in Busan.
history.

Quinn grew up in Busan, but moved to Toronto when he was 10 to help his father run his pub in town. he started out in food preparation, mainly working in the back away from the eye of the public, but eventually took over the bar once his second eldest sister left for college. technically, he wasn't legally allowed to tend the bar until he turned eighteen in six years; though, honestly, he wasn't allowed to deal drugs or sneak out at night either, but that didn't stop him. ever the lover of dancing and hiphop, he got into busking at the same time he got into the drug trade in middle school, making connections through his older siblings' friends and working his way towards becoming a professional dancer.

after a little under a decade, his father moved back to busan to help support his sister, and it was during this time that quinn found himself steering away from the popular folks in high school, maintaining several friendships with all sorts of crowds but avoiding cliques in the process. instead, he focused all his efforts on polishing his technical dance skills and absorbing the rhythm into his bones. it was during this period of busking that quinn was scouted by BNH entertainment, after which a little self-reflection inspired the urge to rediscover his culture that had been drained from him the longer he spent in the west. with this in mind, quinn packed up his bags, left the bar to his sisters, and ditched his life in the west, fully supported by his father who was thrilled that his son was coming back to korea.

as a trainee, quinn had it relatively easier than others; it had been a long time since he'd been able to practice speaking korean, but he got back into it quicker than he thought. the hardest part, however, was the difficulty in learning to sing. he sounded like an airhorn at best, and their vocal trainer had been adamant that he at least be able to match pitch should he ever need to. there came many times where he nearly caved to the pressure, but with the support of the other trainees and his family, he persevered.

one day, he carelessly let slip to the vocal teacher that his chords were rougher than they used to be because of his stoner days, and that proved to be one of many lessons he learned very early on in his career. the vocal trainer instantly shushed him, a haze of panic crossing her eyes as she ordered him to never let anyone know that about him or he'd be crucified. quinn had been lucky that their vocal coach genuinely had his best interests at heart; his future could have been destroyed right then and there. after promising her that he'd keep his mouth shut, he took his singing lessons more seriously and worked day and night to improve himself so no one would be able to criticize him. quinn would never let anyone know his past, much less his present; being bisexual wasn't marketable in this industry.

to put it simply, nari is a riot. she's always got energy for any type of occasion and won't back down from an adventure if it means a little thrill. she may wrinkle her nose at an idea, but it doesn't take much to convince her to join in on the fun. with this in mind, she knows how to balance her priorities. as a trainee, her motto in life (if she believed in the concept of mottos) would be "work hard, play harder" and she's stuck by that since he was 14. she was a straight A student who only cheated every now and then, keeping her life free from the stress of passing classes so she could enjoy her days practicing with the other members to the fullest. on a more personal level, nari's a pretty easygoing girl. she's never one to judge people on the way they choose to live their lives if it's not hurting anyone, and she'll always fight for anyone's right to be who they want to be. she's funny and generally pretty nice, if not a bit arrogant or dramatic at times, and likes to make fun wherever she can.
negatives.
on a more depressing note, nari is absolutely awful at expressing her feelings. it has nothing to do with that "girl crush aesthetic" propaganda that the rest of society associates her with, but rather the fact that her emotions seldom translate well into words. she'll pile on the inappropriate humor miles deep before she'll let anyone in, hoping that making them uncomfortable will ward them off. on top of this, she's not great at handling confrontation. sure, if someone's being a jerk, she can put them in their place, but anything more than that and she's at a loss. nari doesn't believe in violence and doesn't even consider it a last resort, knowing it only escalates situations that she'd rather not get involved in. with both of these faults, nari is undoubtedly awful at romance. while she's led on more guys than she can count and doesn't mind a fling here and there, she can't hold a long term relationship to save her life. she lives too independently for most male idols to feel a proper connection, even though she never purposely neglects them. oh, and she swears like a sailor. that part almost never bodes well with potential partners.
likes.
getting her nails done, pumpkin pie, skiing, trying new foods, dancing, singing, spontaneous photoshoots, swearing, japanese beer, learning new things, and talking/livestreaming to fans.

running, learning to play instruments, hot weather, getting wet, country music, any sports with a ball, wearing heels, sasaengs (she has quite a few), aggression, romance, and white people.

โ€”BACKSTORY.
why did they want to be an idol?
as a result of having no parental guidance to aid her growing up, nari wasn't sure how to navigate life like her peers. once she found music, however, her life was never the same. she promised herself that she would sing until she physically couldn't anymore.
family.
Two parents back in guangzhoi, one uncle, and no siblings.
notable relationships.
She is not close to her family in the slightest, and views her members as her "chosen family" due to their tight bond.
other.
She is actively learning to speak english, but is far from fluent.
history.
nari spent the first ten years of her life in china before moving back to daejeon, allowing her to be fluent in mandarin. she grew up extremely wealthy; her absentee parents run a multi-million dollar investment empire back in guangzhou while she promotes in korea in custody of her uncle, who spends a mere fraction of his year at home anyways. at a very young age, a deeply traumatic event occured which uprooted her entire mental state, dooming her to a life of dodging intimacy at every corner and freezing up at the first sign of violence. she couldn't remember what happened; she doesn't even know something happened in the first place.

the aftermath of it, however, manifested in a young girl who felt like she had no one to rely on but herself. nari's teachers had labelled her a workaholic child right up through high school, where her journey of self-exploration led to the beginning of a new chapter in her life. nari learned how to express herself through her singing, giving her opportunities for a life she wouldn't regret that were previously inaccessible. she became popular and amassed a following, especially after getting scouted by WAVE. while she was far from being a perfect trainee, nari gave everything her 100%, a fact the fans couldn't deny once they watched her debut. with the world at her fingertips, nari found that she didn't need anyone else in her life; she could only motivate herself, and that was exactly what she would do.

momo!!!! im sorry, you'll always be visionaries' baby

Personality:
Having been very young when he stepped into the spot light, Kyung-Mo's personality was heavily influenced by his hyungs and being famous. At debut he was very shy. He never spoke in interviews, unless he was directly asked questions, he never really interacted with anyone, even his hyungs had a very difficult time getting him to talk to them off camera. His quiet nature, and very cute baby face, caught the attention of their fans and only made him cuter to them. Even Hyung-Joon, who is literally a month and a day older than him, babied him, and they all still do. As he started to grow, he became more confident and more outspoken. His relationship with his members got much closer, becoming his surrogate family. He saw how much they cared for him and he made an effort to open up more and work on their relationships.

Now, he's willing to speak out and do the dumb dances on the variety shows. Kyung-Mo is very passionate about dance and art in general, so when he starts talking about it, he could go on for hours. Ari is a very deep thinker. He thinks long and hard about the world around him, and the people in it. The ideas he expressed are very mature. This thoughtfulness is what drew him to dance and music, particularly contemporary dance, as he could express deep emotions without words. He finds art beautiful, he loves spending hours in art museums or attending ballet performances. Kyung-mo is also a practice fiend. He spends hours practicing or coming up with new choreography. Being hard working was ingrained in him from a young age, if you don't work hard then you aren't worth anything. Recently he wants to be seen as more than just the baby of CIY, he wants to be seen as an adult, even if he's still young. He had to grow up pretty fast and learn a lot of hard lessons in his life. He doesn't feel like a baby anymore. He appreciates the sentiment, the love and affection that they have for him, but he's not a child any more.

When he was a very young teenager, he left home. Growing up through that awkward point in his life without parents has made it difficult for him to properly deal with his emotions. He's gotten better. Before he used to break down and cry all the time or throw temper tantrums when he got angry or upset. Now he just shuts down. When something is bothering him, he wants to be alone, mostly because he normally cries and doesn't want other people see him cry. He has two hyungs who can get to him when he gets like this, but to everyone else he can either be snappy or silent. Kyung-Mo always feels bad afterward, he doesn't want to be rude to his friends, so he tries to apologize quickly when he is in a better mood. A perfectionist, truly, Ari has a hard time letting mistakes go. It's mostly his own, but when he teaches choreography sometimes he gets frustrated when things aren't going perfectly. He takes it super hard when he makes mistakes on stage. Failing isn't an option for him, so when it happens (because he's human) it bothers him for hours, or even days depending on how bad it was. When others try to tell him it's fine, he doesn't listen. The boy is bullheaded and likes to stick to his own thinking and changing his mind is very difficult. Heading cats is often easier than persuading Kyung-Mo to do anything or think differently. He appreciates advice but he likes to make his own decisions. Drill it into him enough and he may just listen, but following his own path has led him this far. It may just take a mistake to teach him that his own ideas are not always the best.

Positive Traits:
+Thoughtful
+Enthusiastic
+Mature (most of the time)

Negative Traits:
-Moody
-Perfectionist
-Stubborn

Likes:
being babied, sexy concepts, dance, rapping, fashion, nature, being outside, traveling, art museums, and strawberries.

Dislikes:
being babied, his natural aegyo, spicy food, not being close to his parents, mistakes, and sitting around

Favorite thing about being an idol:
"The fact I get to do what I love and get loved for it. I breath, eat, and sleep dance, the fact I can do that for a living is amazing. Being a part of CIY gives me amazing creative freedoms. I know there are a lot of other artists who don't get that, and I will forever be grateful that I've gotten the chance to show my soul with music."

Least Favorite thing about being an idol:
"It's definitely the strain that it puts on your personal life. I was young when we debuted....I guess I still am. I didn't get a normal childhood, which I am both happy and sad about. My relationships with other people have suffered from my busy schedule. My members are my family, and I love that, but sometimes there are other people you wished you were closer to."

History:
The Park family added little Kyung-Mo to their already large family on a beautiful spring day. Having three older siblings at the time he was born, made for a rowdy house. That was especially true when his younger twin sisters were added when he was 3 years old. His family owned a farm in a rural farming community. They raised cattle, as well as their garden and crops for cow feed. He knew hard work when he was just in elementary school helping out around the farm. From tilling soil and pulling weeds with his Eomma, to shoveling manure and tagging cows with his Appa. Kyung-Mo also played hard. Riding bikes for hours, running around barefoot with the other neighborhood kids, and playing baseball in the old field that was owned by the nice older couple that lived over the hill. His early childhood was spent being wild and tagging along with his older brothers.

His focus changed when he was 11 years old, however. The family was visiting cousins in the city for the holidays. His cousin, older by 3 years, was in a dance group. He invited him to come with them while they busked in the nearby streets. He was amazed. Kyung-Mo was aware that dancing existed, he often found himself being stupid when listening to the radio back at home. This cousin also introduced him to some of the kpop groups he liked. That's when he became obsessed with dance. For weeks he watched video after video and stayed up way too late trying to follow dance routines. It turned out he was actually decent at dancing, a natural talent for it if you will.

It was then that he knew he wanted to dance, to become an idol. That former goal was to work on the farm for the rest of his life, but now he had something he was passionate about. He begged and begged his parents for dance lessons. It was then that he found out how much his father disliked the idea of him dancing, let alone being an idol. His father wasn't going to have a son that pranced around on stage. He was, at first, disheartened. He really started to love dance. He felt like it was his fate to perform. So despite his father's wishes, he taught himself how to dance. At the age of 13, he joined a dance team. In order to stay with the group, he snuck out of the house at night to practice. He made excuses about school projects and hanging out with friends in order to go busking and do performances in the city nearby.

Most of the other boys were older than him and taught him a lot about dance. For the most part, they had a pop and lock style, but one of the boys was into contemporary. Kyung-Mo was in awe over his style. Finally, he found his true love, contemporary dance. It was around this time, at the age of 14, that he was scouted by a DayDream representative. He was told by all of the other boys that he had to go and audition, but he knew his Appa would never in a million years let him go. Torn between his family and his dream, Kyung-Mo thought there was no harm in trying. He talked to his Eomma first. She may not have been for him being an idol, but she wasn't against it like his father. Somehow, he still isn't sure why, but he got his mother to sign off on the papers. Maybe she thought he would fail. Or maybe she saw how much it meant to him. In any case, she didn't tell his father that he was going.

Kyung-Mo passed his audition. He was to start training for DayDream's first boy group. He was ecstatic, it was everything he ever wanted. When he came home with the news, his mother was surprised. He wasn't sure if it was a good surprise or a bad surprise. He knew that at that point, he had to talk to his father. Whether he wanted to or not, he had to explain it to him. The boy had never seen his father so angry. He told him that if he left and went to Seoul to peruse this "idiotic fantasy" of his that he would never be welcome in his home again. Kyung-Mo was infuriated that his own father would react so strongly to something that made him happy, something he loved. It did bother him one bit when he angrily pack his bags and slammed the door on his way out.

At first he was estatic to be a trainee. Kyung-Mo worked his butt off during training. He had originally auditioned as a vocalist, so he had to learn how to rap. He had a basis in dance, but nothing professional. He spent extra time with the trainer to hone in on his craft. It was much later that he began to regret the decision to leave things with his family like they were, but there was fixing it then. While he watched his hyungs and their families at debut, with smiling faces, it broke him a little inside. It wasn't that he regretted becoming an idol. He knew that he would have regretted it more if he refused to follow his passion. It hurt him more that his father's backwards thinking caused him to hate him, his own son. He knew the majority of his members for about a year and a half, but he hadn't grown all that close to any of them. The only one he had a good relationship with was Tae-Woong. The two, along with Seo-Jun, all shared a room. Being the oldest, he was the one of the most mature at the time. Tae-Woong used to try a lot to get Kyung-Mo to talk more than just work. It worked, as he opened up a little bit. He became very much so attached to his oldest Hyung, and still is to this day.

It was a solid 6 months into promotions before Kyung-Mo actually tried to have a better relationship with the other members. They got along decently, some he liked more than others, but as he thought about how they treated him, all their affection and appreciative words, he realized how much they cared. He wanted to care more about them too. So he started talking. He grew closer and closer. He's grateful to them, because they finished raising him. They were his family when he had none. Being raised by 12 boys isn't exactly the best thing for you, but at least he isn't a complete mess. After close to 6 years since he left home, he's wanting a closer relationship with his parents. His mother has come around some, they talk every few months. His dream is to see his parents smiling faces in the crowd of visionaries cheering his name. He isn't hopeful that this will happen, but a boy can dream can't he?

eomoni, it's been awhile. how are you and Abeoji?
We're fine.
we are going to have a break here in a few weeks. maybe i could visit. that'd be nice
Don't bother. Your abeoji needs rest. His blood pressure is high enough
i see. he's still the same?
He's stubborn Kyung-ah. He'd probably get upset if he knew we talked at all.
do you agree with what he's doing? am i really that terrible to you?
He's my husband. I can't do anything about it.
and I'm your son. i never wanted to hurt you.
You should have thought of that before you ran away. I should have never let you go to Seoul.
