?TO HEART?

r88foh.jpg

Dating Simulator

Have you ever played a Dating Simulator before? Oh, don't be shy! Perhaps you have, perhaps you haven't -- but either way, welcome! Dating Simulators are so simple and fun -- guy or girl somehow gets mixed into a group of gorgeous guys or girls and somehow you have to make all the right decisions and choices to fall in love with your choice love interest. Easy enough, because you can play it over and over again, taking back your decisions and clicking on the right ones until you get that ground breaking kiss -- or even better -- wedding scene. How romantic! Nothing better for a lonely otaku, right? Everyone gets somebody to love!

Wouldn't it be great if life was like a dating simulation game, where you can easily save and rewind if you accidentally messed up? Shesh, now that I think about it, maybe it's better that it's not... That's almost too easy. Wouldn't it be nice to have an advanced level Dating Simulator? Hm. If only! You think so too?

Well, you're in luck! Because "To Heart" is the first ever "advanced level" Dating Simulator game to ever be known -- or at least by me! Get ready to pierce some hearts with your love arrow, or have your heart pierced -- ... or maybe even broken!

I, Marianne, will be your Magical Girl of Love guide through this love maze, perfect for my new Super Mega Cutie Heart Cupid Rainbow Arrow 2,000 weapon. Get ready to fly, lovebirds! Here we go!

?HOW IT WORKS?

13zba6g.jpg

Such a great idea! But how does it work, you may ask? Simple! The available love interests aren't just computers that give you a coded response to your attempts to woo them, but actual people behind computers. We will have ten very talented writers audition for our pre-written cast of love interests to write out these characters's personalities for you to attempt to figure out. That's right! You will know absolutely nothing about these characters -- everything is a secret! Players, however, are an open book. Where usually players would all have to fill out a character skeleton, only those playing custom made characters entering the game will have to do so.

Casted love interests already have their characters written for them -- once they're casted, it is up to them to flesh out the characters and bring them to life. Why are they pre-written, you may ask? Well, that's the fun of it! Most to all of the girls have very different personalities, backgrounds, and qualities that will make this game fun. You never know what is going to come your way or how they're going to respond to you. You will have to find out about them by interacting with them; so get out your notepads and pens to get ready to take notes.

Also: there's a point system. Like most dating simulation games, there is a point system. If you say interact with a love interest and a major scenario occurs, you could possibly gain or lose points. Your point level effects the way love interests respond to you. Cool, huh?

Oh, and if things are still too easy for you, lets spice it up some. Relationships with characters are also something that effect your relationship with a love interest. If you're friends with someone they're friends with, perhaps they'll warm up to you faster. If you're friends with someone they hate, maybe they'll get jealous or even resent you. Of course, there's no telling who is friends with who and who hates who unless you observe.

Wait a minute! Did I see you glance at more than one girl? Didn't I just say something about jealousy? Oh yes. That exists here. Lets say you have high points with a love interest, but you're spotted racking up even more points with someone else. Uh-oh. You might have just caused some conflict with the love interests' friendship, made their hatred towards each other worse, or even damaged your own relationship with them. Who knows!

There's endless opportunities here. So how do you want to play this game? Want to audition for a love interest or sign up as a player?

?RELATIONSHIPS?

4u8mq8.jpg

"Like all dating sims, all I have to do is get a girl to fall in love with me and I win, right?" Wrong! Oh, so wrong. Like all dating sims, you can get a girl to fall in love with you, but you can also change your mind. Wait a minute, happily ever afters don't happen here? Like the real world, more than likely not. You can fall in love with more than one girl. You can fall in love, then fall out of love when you find out their secrets and past. But first, let me explain the different kind of relationships in this game and how they work.

1. Neutral (0 - 10) - This is the area where you are currently, unless assigned a previous past with a certain love interest. You haven't talked to most to all the girls. You haven't done anything to woo her, make her angry, or make her feel any sort of way towards you. Neutral isn't bad, but it isn't exactly good, either. This is the perfect time to either make a wonderful first impression, or screw up big time -- be careful. Love interests can also feel this way towards other love interests, unless given a reason to suddenly like them or hate them. Your actions might effect this as well, the closer you get to someone.

2. Okay (+10 - 25) - "Eh, he's okay, I guess." You're not bad. You're doing good, but you haven't made enough of an impression to ask her out on a date yet! Perhaps if you asked her for her number or if she'd like to maybe be your partner for the class project, she'd say okay. This is basically neutral, but starting to reach the green.

3. Friendship (+25 - 45) - This is the area you might be at, based on your assigned past -- if you have one. Or maybe you've finally earned enough points to reach friendship. You have a mostly positive impact on your choices with this character, unless you do something to majorly damage your points. If you were to ask for this girl's number, she'd have no real issue with it unless it contradicts her written personality. You could perhaps start advancing towards something more romantic, if you're brave enough to test the waters. If you're talking to someone who is in this relationship range with another love interest, you're most likely to boost your relationship with both love interests. Friends like to see people being friendly with their friends. So many friends! You can also maybe get a little information out of them about your crush, or even some juicy gossip. They're starting to trust you. Keep it up!

4. Crush (+50 - 75) - Aw, you did it! You made her blush. She's starting to catch the feelings and emotions and butterflies. Perhaps now you're her senpai. You could practically do no wrong in this area. You're in the green! Maybe it's time for that first kiss! Wait a minute, if she's got strong emotions to you, that means she's also got strong jealousy as well. You better be extra careful if you're trying to woo two girls at the same time, or have more than one interest. You better not get caught flirting with the girl she hates -- ouch! That might cause some problems. Where if you do something romantic, you could possibly earn double points, if you do something to piss her off, she's more than likely going to take it doubly hard.

5. Love (+75 - 90) - She loves you! Now, this isn't the same as in love. You're almost there. By just like in the crush stage, if your love interest gets jealous, things could get ugly. If you do something to hurt your love interest, betray their trust, or make them angry, your damages are doubled and you lose points very fast. This is also where girls start revealing their secrets and past to you. You start to get to know all their flaws, quirks, and history. This is where the game can change, because some secrets aren't very pretty. However, if you can live with all that, press on and you might find out their biggest secret of all and even win their heart completely.

6. In Love (+90 - 100) - You've done it! You've won their heart. Were you the first one to do it? If you've reached this level before any other player has, you have been chosen out of whoever was fighting for her affection. Now you get to know all the secrets. Heck, if you make it to 100, you could probably even propose marriage! Forgiveness is more likely to be given here if you mess up, but be careful, because once they fall out of love with you, it is very hard to repair that bond. If you have fallen out of love with a character, gaining back points is split in half. Where you would normally earn two points, you only get one. Don't damage the trust! You might not get it back.

7. Irritated (-1 - (-) 10) - Uh-oh. You've made a wrong move. You accidentally tripped and got water all over her brand new uniform and now she had to go change! How could you? It seems like she's a little irritated when she sees you, or maybe even embarrassed. You might want to proceed with caution to make sure you don't mess it up even more.

8. Negative (-10 - (-) 25) - Now you've done it. You've really pissed her off now. She can't even look at you without cutting a glare your way. She'll usually avoid you at all cost or give you attitude whenever you talk to her. However, you are not beyond repair. If you show you're trying or try to get to know her likes, maybe you can fix what you messed up. Make sure you don't piss her off even more or she'll start spreading rumors about you. You might want to look into a little repair, especially if your love interest is her friend. You have to be friends with her if she's your love interest's friend.

9. Dislikes (-25 - (-) 50) - Man, you just have that sort of charm about you, don't you? She really does not like you at all. You better hope your love interest isn't her friend, or you're never going to get that date. Now you've made her so mad that she's even resulted into verbally expressing her dislike for you. If she's a popular character, you can expect this to negatively impact the way students treat you. And if she spreads a rumor, you better pray it doesn't get around. If you're in a relationship or pursuing her friend, you can expect some drama to come of this.

10. Hatred (-50 - (-) 100) - Did you cheat on her? Burn her new bike to the ground? What the heck did you do? You've really done it now! This girl is going to do anything and everything to see you pay for whatever you did. You definitely will not be asking her friend out any time soon. You better not give her any juicy gossip to spread about you and pray she doesn't turn all the love interests against you. She might even want you expelled from the school and if she can somehow convince the entire team of love interests against you, it might be game over for you! Hell hath no fury like a pissed off love interest!

?POINT SYSTEM?

1550xhf.jpg

As you can see, there was a point system included in how relationships are rated. If you do something to make a love interest happy, impress her, or catch her attention, you could be rewarded points. However, if you do the opposite and somehow rub her the wrong way, you can be deducted points. Be careful, because both can happen frequently or maybe even rarely. It depends on the character, their personality, and whomever is playing them. Naturally, we don't want to make this game where it's super easy to win a girl's affection so earning points is going to be a difficult task and the closer you get to getting her to "Fall in Love" with you, the harder it's going to get.

How points work is relatively simple, but there's different points for different scenarios. Lets explore some of them, shall we?

Example A: You see Miss Love Interest in the hallway. She seems upset. You take the time to stop in the hallway and express your concerns, wanting to know what was bothering her. She shakes her head and asks you not to worry about it. However, you press on and she continues to ignore the question. Taking a second, you stand back to gather your choices here. Here are the ideas you've come up with: you can keep asking her until she gives in, you can leave it alone and walk off, or you can just try and comfort her in other ways. You choose to distract her from her worry and reach in your pocket, pulling out some candies that happen to be her favorite. Seeing her eyes shift over to your hand as you pop one into your mouth, you smirk and extend your hand to offer her a piece.

Result A: Miss Love Interest likes this! +1 point (50 / 100 - Crush)

She takes the candies and smiles in gratitude. You sneak a peek at her as you withdraw your hands to notice a bright pink shade creep across her cheeks as she happily unwraps the candy within her hand. You both lean against the railing of the hallway and continue your conversation in glee.

Result B: Miss Love Interest does not like this! -1 (-25 / 100 - Negative)

She releases and agitated sigh, shoving back your hand to show her disgust at your offer. Her brows furrow as she seems to puff out her cheeks in anger. Stomping off, she turns to you before letting out one more huff. "I thought I told you to leave me alone. Don't try and sweeten me up when I clearly told you to drop it!"

Oooh. Ouch. Looks like there was two very polar opposite reactions to that scenario. Lets take a few things into factor as we look into why those options were available for this.

For the first result, your points were already high for your relationship. You did as she said, but did it in a way she liked. This response was probably perfect for her personality and you even leveled up in the relationship area. Congratulations! For the second result, your points were low with this love interest and perhaps this is a different love interest with a very different personality. Maybe backing off was the better choice. Oh well, at least it wasn't something major and you only lost one point.

What's that? You can lose more than one point? Of course you can! Allow me to explain.

If your choice is something a love interest likes, there is an option to receive points ranging from 1 - 3. One means your action made them moderately happy, two means you did something the love interest believes was worth the extra effort and three means you really made them happy and made the best possible decision! There is never more than an option for more than three points, but this isn't true for the opposite reaction.

If you made a love interest angry, the typical deduction of points will range from 1 - 3. If you you do something to just rub her wrong, you'll lose a point. If you do something to make her angry, you'll lose two, and if you've made quite possibly the worst decision to react to that character, you'll get three deducted. However, if you commit the ultimate sins in this game, you can lose up to 50 or 100 points! Ouch. This means you had to have cheated or been caught flirting with someone else. This can change the game and really effect things. Like they say: trust is easier to be lost than gained.

So if you're attempting to woo two or more girls at the same time, be careful, because gossip can spread and you can lose points without even being present. The option to lose and gain points are universal so every action counts. Reactions can also be neutral and not give or deduct any points at all. Also, reactions are colored. If you made a girl sad, it will be blue. If you made a girl happy, it will be orange, etc. Colors will have a separate section so you can always check up on your love interest's mood!

?COLOR SYSTEM?

29c6z5d.jpg

The color system goes hand in hand with the point system. This is where you can check your love interest's mood and how you effected them.

Black - Black means that the character is currently in a neutral mood and feels neutral towards you. Nothing has happened to put them in a bad mood and you haven't done anything to effect their mood.

Orange - Orange means the character is in a chipper mood; they're happy! Either they're just already in a good mood or you did something to put them in a good mood. If a character is in a good mood, you're more likely to get a positive response out of them and perhaps gain more points.

Blue - Blue means that they're sad, upset, blue, etc. Something has happened that is bothering the love interest. It could be a rumor, something personal, something you did, etc. You won't know if they're worried, sad, or depressed because that gives too much away, but you do know something isn't quite right with them. If you've made them sad, you better find a way to get them out of that mood quick or you're more likely to lose points.

Red - Uh oh! You've pissed off a love interest, or maybe someone else did. Did she hear a rumor about you or did you do something to embarrass her? You, someone, or something has obviously made her mad. This is the danger zone. This is where you could lose a majority of your points. If you have severely made a girl mad, usually their typical response to you will be in the red zone.

Purple - Your love interest is scared. Either she's uncomfortable with something you're doing, a bad rumor is going around, or maybe she's just freaked out about something. This is a very sensitive area because your decisions can change their mood to either feeling safe and happy, or angry. This is also a warning sign that you might be being creepy. Either way, be careful, because being scared can take you into a range of multiple emotions. This is also a common color for a girl who is embarrassed, panicked, or stressed, as well.

Green - She's green with envy! Green means multiple things. She could be jealous of a girl around you or maybe even disgusted with you. This doesn't mean she's quite at the angry level yet, but she's agitated. You could have been talking to that girl she doesn't like or done something that rubs her the wrong way. You'll have to read into the scenario to know which is which.

Pink - She's flirty, she's feeling lovey-dovey, or is obviously attracted to you. Now, just because a girl has pink doesn't mean you can go flying for that kiss. You also have to take into factor her personality. She could be attracted to you, but painfully shy so maybe putting her on the spot isn't a good idea. Also, pinks can be hidden. A hidden color? Ridiculous! Not ridiculous! Girls hide their emotions all the time and when they like someone, usually they keep it hidden and only when they let it slip or are very comfortable with you, they'll let it show. Either you can make the right decision to get slipped a pink or you can eventually bring out a sudden pink from a neutral color. Tsunderes are a usual love interest that are hard to get pinks out of so stay on your toes! Pinks can also mean they're just being flirty and aren't in love with you. Pinks mean a range of things. It's up to you to figure out the puzzle.

?HOUSING?

1zyej9i.jpg

Congratulations! You've either lived or just moved to the neighborhood! That's all for you to decide, but I get to decide where you live! The map will be created after I have multiple sign ups for players.

?CLASSES?

2wmg7yh.jpg

Ugh. this is the part I think is most boring, but I've come up with a way to try and fix that. You will be assigned classrooms according to your grade. Since Sakarina High School is a small school, all those who are within the same grade will be stationed in the same classroom. Now, if you have a love interest who is a senior or a younger classmate, you'll have four opportunities to talk to them as well -- but fear not, technology is also a thing in this roleplay! Oh my god, you mean text messaging and emailing is a thing in the classroom? Uh, duh.

Those in the same class with participate in the same homeroom that will cover all subjects. However, all the classes will group together for gym. Lunch is also a time to explore the hallways and chat with friends. Then of course you have before class starts and after the school day ends to chat it up and get those points. You can also earn points by texting, but they will can only earn you half points and no more.

After school clubs are also a thing here at Sakurina High School. You think the Student Council President is cute? Well, of course she is. So why don't you join the Student Council? The track cutie got your eye? Join the track team! Or... y'know, stalk the track yard and make her feel uncomfortable while you gawk at her. Your choice. Be sure to take note of what these girls do after school so you can try and catch them and get those points! Just a reminder: I will end classes if they drag on too long. It is up to ya'll if I'm not here to do this as well. If it's boring, just end it and move time along so everyone can talk. If it's boring, please change the time! Don't make everyone suffer.

After we have a few sign ups, I will edit this section and put who is in what class.
This is probably the only information you will get about the love interests before the game starts.

?LOVE INTERESTS?

14b6m3q.jpg

These are the love interests! Congratulations, you know nothing about them! But that's how it's supposed to be. The only way to get to know a Love Interest, is to get to know them! So get to work, players. It's your job to win their hearts!

If you are interested in playing a Love Interest, you have to audition for them and are casted as them! You cannot just claim one, sadly. If you are interested in auditioning, there are a few things you must know: you have to be active, literate, you have to post at least two lengthy paragraphs, and be willing to work with others. I will help direct this roleplay so I'll help you with your character, if need be. You will also have to be in charge of giving and deducting points, knowing your character like the back of your hand, and keeping secrets. All the love interests are pre-written. They already have their personalities, history, etc. It's up to you to bring them alive and keep them true to their very different characters.

All Love Interests have relationships with most to all other Love Interests -- some good, some bad. So teamwork is key to playing a Love Interest. If you're still interested, please PM me to audition. If they have already been casted, I will post their name and who has been casted as them below.

?MAGICAL GIRL OF LOVE?

14j9thd.jpg

And then there's me: the Magical Girl of Love! I am Maako, and I'm here to help guide you in your wonderful journey for love. I am to be played by the ever so adorable EliCarter, and to help whenever our main director is out, or not able to respond. Think of me as a co-director! Am I a love interest? Oh ho ho, who knows! Maybe you'll be lucky enough to catch my eye. If you ever have a question, concern, or anything, please let me know. I'm also here to help push the storyline along and maybe even cause some trouble. But, like the other Love Interests, my attributes are a complete secret. We'll see how well you do in this game of love and war!

?RULES?

2gx04lg.jpg

  1. Literacy. This roleplay is made for the literate; please be knowledgeable of being literate and having proper grammar. Being literate does not mean you have to be an extremely high experienced roleplayer. There will be no punishment or shame if you forget to place a comma in a certain spot or how to spell a word. This is an understanding roleplay.
  2. No one-liners. This roleplay will never, ever accept one-liners and those who continuously post one paragraph. This roleplay is driven off of creativity and detail, so please be kind those roleplaying with you and respond with as much creativity as you can to move the roleplay forward.
  3. No Mary-Sues. All characters come with flaws, different personalities, and weaknesses. No character is perfect and I personally will not allow any characters in this roleplay with the typical characteristic combination of timid, shy, frail, with a tragic back story of her parents beating her for everyone to pity her. If there is one character I cannot stand, it's that character. Have a realistic character.
  4. No claiming a character. When I say "no claiming a character," I mean you cannot look at someone else's character and say, "Hey, can they be my character's love interest and no one else's?" No. That's not how this game works. The thing about this game is everyone is out to get a love interest to fall for them. And yes, you can fall in love with multiple characters and have multiples fall for you.
  5. Do not mix character photos. In Character Creation, I do not want a mixture of photos from real to anime to descriptions. Photos are allowed, but they are only "anime" types, and I do not want nekos and fantasy-like characters flooding this modern based roleplay, thank you.
  6. Be polite. While taking part in my roleplay, you must be kind and polite to all roleplayers. I do not want to see any fights between roleplayers or someone will be kicked out of my roleplay.
  7. PG-13. I'm not one-hundred percent sure the full rules on PG-13 on this site and if I am wrong, I will correct myself. But anything past kissing must go somewhere else. As long as it's not on our main thread or where we can see it, I don't care what happens as long as it goes somewhere else. Other than that, we will keep a PG-13 rating on this roleplay in general.
  8. Be realistic. If your character gets in a fight, if your character gets caught cheating, if your character gets hit by a bus, roll with the punches. Don't throw a fit or suddenly give your character god-like powers. Be realistic here. Things happen.
  9. Don't be anti-social. One thing I cannot stand in a roleplay is anti-social characters. Like, why even be in a roleplay? Don't expect to have your character be all mysterious and not want to talk to any of the Love Interests and then go, "Ugh. I'm bored." Well, whose fault is that?
  10. Be creative. This is actually a requirement. Don't have small talk about the sky being blue, come up with something interesting! The casted girls were all casted because I believe they have potential to make things interesting. If you wouldn't have a fun time reading what you're writing or coming up with, then you need to rethink your ideas here.

?PLAYER SIGN UP?
