The Overlord
"Welcome back to another episode of Behind the Magic with me Chloe Hosterman your wonderful host. Today we have a special and the man responsible for the craze sweeping the world, lead developer of Titan Age: Reborn, Anthony Morgan."

"Thank you Chloe for that nice introduction it's nice to be here talking with you once again."

"Well it is always a pleasure having you here so I can't help but be excited today. And from what I hear you have an announcement for everyone out there."

"Yes, I do actually have a couple things to announce. As of today we have finally gotten a new wave of streamers who will be broadcasting a lot of the new content that we are putting into place. Also currently the design team are coming up with some possible locations that will be for vacation purposes only since it seems to be one of the main uses of coming into the game world. A new starting location will be acting as a test of sorts for this concept."

"Really? That is wonderful to hear sir. Now families or anyone can have a more relaxing time without the worry of being attacked. But the increase in streamers will definitely be more entertaining to those who like to take the time to watch for fun."

"True as I had to be very selective on who was chosen this time. We wanted a more diverse range of players so we picked more female players this time. Of course males were chosen too but we wanted to make sure that representation was balanced between genders. We even have a balanced mix between casual and competitive players so everyone had different kinds of experiences to show in game."

"Well that should hopefully make things more enjoyable for everyone in the future. But in a side note many of our viewers have heard about your past exploits in the original Titan Age incident years ago. They wanted to know do you actually play Titan Age: Reborn. Of course you have tons of experience and are a well known gamer at heart. So it is hard to see you not playing your own game regardless of your past experience."

"Haha..... Well actually yes I do pop in every once in a while but to prevent any problems I have a special avatar that I use for administration purposes. In a way I had to become a god just so I would have control over everything in case of an emergency. But with all that I can make myself the strongest or weakest player depending on how I'm feeling that day. But really that is good for me since I don't have the time anymore to play like I used to when I was younger and more focused on only smaller parts of game development."

"Wow well is there anyway our viewers will know it is you when you are around?"

"Oh I'm not that hard to spot. I never changed my in game name."

"Well you heard it hear and the biggest secret has come to light. The legendary Mahan walks among you all............"

Today was the day that Shaun had been waiting for since he invested in Nation and started gaining returns on his investment. He was dripping in money now so he didn't have much to do so he got himself a copy of Titan Age: Reborn and ordered the most high tech VR pod on the market to play it in. If just also happened that his friend Clair was in need of something to do during the time she wanted to relax so he asked her if she wanted to play with him and she agreed. With that all in place and him doing his best to not look up any guides or walkthroughs he laid down in his pod and started it up. The first thing he came across was a very simplified character creator that expanded much further once he got to the part where you pick your starting skills and abilities. The list were long and massive which explained why they promoted how in this game players could go for a long time without finding another person with exact same skill set. Because Shaun wasn't exactly sure how he wanted to play he just picked a few basic things that would stack well with anything else he might want to go with later. After naming his "class" champion and altering his in-game appearance, since it uses your actual gender and appearance to generate a base for your avatar and lets you make any changes you like, he was presented with a prompt say he was going to starting on Islesong Island. He heard that this was going to be a new starting location/ vacation spot so it had much to enjoy in it besides combat.

Spawning into the game he was greeted to a beautiful beach with the sun shining high above with a nice breeze going through his hair. It all felt so real but what was amazing and proved that this islands name wasn't just for show was that you could hear music all around silently in the background. He hadn't seen Clair yet and his UI showed that she wasn't on yet so he went to go find somewhere to wait for her for. There was a place in the small town on the island called the Symphonic Tropical Bar so that seemed like a good place to spend while he waited.

Dylan put on his own vr headset and booted up his copy of Titan age reborn. When he saw the character creator he diceded that he wanted to go the sneaky route. As he spawned into the ingame world he came to a relization. He didn't have a lantern. Dylan decided the best way to correct this grievus insult was to steal one from the neartest town. When Dylan finaly found the town he got guided to the shop by an obnoxius tutorial. walking into the shop Dylan was greeted by an half elven shop keeper after finishing the tutorial Dylan quikly attemped to steal the a lantern. Wich did not go to well. after beign seen by the shop keeper Dylan used his stealth power and ran away towards the beach.

Clair didn't take much time to log in after Shaun, she had spent quite some time on the character creation screen and probably, even more, trying to decide how to allocate her stats. None the less she finally logged into the world of Titan Age and was spawned on Islesong Island. The beach was beautiful, the weather fantastic and the music that echoed far a wide did wonders to elevate the experience. It was all so real, so lifelike. The sun that berated the isle was beautiful but for some reason or another Clair felt uneasy while under its rays "So this is what it's like to be a vampire huh. At least I haven't burst into flames". moving to inspect the UI Clair brought up her map and inspected her surroundings before searching her friendslist for Shaun.

Shaun seemed to be close by so fast travel wasn't necessary. After sending him a quick party invite Clair made her way over to him while avoiding the sun as best she could. "Shaun, must you always pick a bar? Honestly, if i didn't know any better I'd call you an alcoholic."

After managing to escape from the shop keeper Dylan found a small nice tropical bar. Apon further inspection he found that the barkeep was a quest giver. Dylan choose a quest (kill 3 mad monkeys) and decided that he wanted to recharge his ap so he sat down put on some music and relaxed for a bit.

Waking up after a long night of gaming, TJ ate breakfast and took a quick shower before heading back upstairs to wake up his sister. Knocking on her bedroom door, he makes sure not to be so loud he wakes up the rest of the house. Today was an off day, so no one had to wake up early if they felt like it. However yesterday, he had promised to wake his sister up early so she could run some errands. "Hey, wake up Amee, it's almost 7." When he didn't get an answer aside from a low groan, he knocked again, a bit louder. "If you don't wake up, I'm going to dump some cold water on you in the next 5 minutes." This time, he could hear a good bit of rustling and an actual reply. "Alright! I'm up! No cold water please, thank you..." TJ smiled. His sister new the cold water comment wasn't a joke; he'd done it before, and that was the only, and last time she ignored such a comment.

After seeing her off, telling her to call him if she needed something, he went to his room, laid down on his bed once again. He first checked to make sure his Phone would relay any messages or calls into the game for him, before putting on the headset and launching Titan Age: Reborn. He's already made a few attempts at creating a character, only to not like them after a short test. So really, he had no more knowledge on the game then anyone else would. This time, he decided to try a front-liner, but with a small twist. He made what he called a "Blademaster", an expert at wielding blades of all kinds, but not really all that tanky. Good. A damage dealer for sure. Not something he could solo for too long with. The twist he added; he put a few points into intelligence, so that damage spells weren't entirely useless. After editing his Characters look for a bit, and deciding on a name, he confirmed his choices and entered the beginners area, Islesong Island.

After spawning in, he looked around. He ignored the tutorial option. Instead, he went to the nearest building, which happened to be a bar, and went inside. He wasn't really sure what kind of quest he wanted to do yet, so after taking a look at the options, he sat down at a table and started to mull over the options.

Open to interaction by peoples.

Finally it was time. The package she had ordered had arrived and she was very excited to play. Carefully she too the vr headset out of the packaging and read through the manual to see how this thing actually worked. After a little while she gave up and threw the manual on the bed. She was sure she could figure it out, she didn't need a silly manual. With a grin on her face she put on the headset and booted up the game. She couldn't wait to escape real world and just dive into a place that was more simple. Sometimes real life was too complicated, at least in games she knew that there was a code and clear rules. That was one of the things she liked about games.

Immediately uppon starting up the game she was taken to a character creation screen. She took some time thinking about her stats, but she wasn't really sure about what she wanted to spacialise in so she put a little bit into everything, with a focuss on melee. Then she best part came, customising her character. She spend entirely way too much time transforming herself into a small half elf with flaming red hair. A pretty fitting look. After she was done she continued and was greeted by a wonderful island. Everything was bright, the sun was shinging and everything seemed very perfect.

for a few moments Freya, now Faye, stood and just looked around. There were some other people on the beach but she didn't really feel like interacting with others just yet. Instead her gaze shifted towards other things wandering on the beach. Crabs. A grin appeared on her face, she was very eager to try out her new weapon and spells. She found a crab that was still pretty big, but not the biggest around. She didn't wanna try the tiny ones, that didn't seem like much of a challenge. The first thing she did was throw a fireball it's way, it was her signature move so it wasn't like she'd lose AP. One small problem though, it didn't seem to do any damage. "oh shit, guess I fucked that up" she said as the now angry crab came her way.

Will checked his Tweeter and just saw post after post of people asking him to review the new Titan Age remake. Sighing he rubbed his eyes with his hands before taking a long drink from his coffee. Placing the cup on the desk, he took the moment to burp and exhale. He was going to review Titan Age: Reborn anyway. Work had already asked him to write up a sizable review in his usual style. Will never considered himself to be anything particularly special when it came to reviewing video games. He honestly had no clue where the two million subscribers came from, he always said it was majority bots. Although "R00k Reviews" were a bitch to make and didn't do much to enrich the lives of anyone really. He still made them, they let him see games in a different light and he got to vent his creativity. Finishing his coffee, he went back to browsing the internet. This game had already been out for three months, it could wait for a single reviewer to get his daily dose of memes. After scrolling through an entire roddit forum dedicated to making fun of virtual camgirls, he decided to play the VRMMO he was being paid to play. Will had purchased basically everything he needed to play this properly. He didn't wanted the full experience so that assholes online couldn't say SHIT about his experience. He had called his father to help optimize the VR configurations. It was basically the latest tech....that had been modified based on the instruction of a scientific expert. Will was admittedly not as smart as his parents but they assured him that these modifications offered the greatest experience imaginable. Laying in the tube, he placed the headset on and started it up...

He decided to keep "R00k" as his name, which was oddly not taken by anyone already. Then he began going over character creation. Will then looked over the race options. Whenever he played Fantasy MMO's (Which was very rarely), he always wanted some kind of magic. He chose Elf due to its magic oriented stats. Then he just messed around with the appearance options so that he'd look like a generic fantasy elf man. Finally he chose his spells and skills. Deciding to go with a Caster Build, he picked an attack spell and a shielding spell. His skill let him increase spell damage at the cost of having the durability of wet paper. With his character made, Will pressed the START button and was suddenly blinded. "AH MOTHERFUCKER!!!" said Will as his retinas were trying to adjust to the godrays scorching his eyeballs. Then he heard the sounds of seagulls and lapping waves. Pulling his arms from his view, he was met with the sight of a tropical town. It was super realistic, even R00k was impressed. Checking out his character model, R00k did have to praise how well it was designed. So he equipped his staff and twirled it like a cane, just like how he always did whenever he played a magic man. First step, form a party. So he entered what looked to be a bar and took a look around. What was the purpse of a bar? Did PC's get drunk or something?

R00k saw a guy staring at the wooden table in deep thought. Fuck It thought R00k as he shrugged and walked over to the guy. "Hey man, I just started this game and decided to play Mage. You seem like a fighter-type and in search of a quest or something. Wanna party up?" said R00k in a usual almost-deadpan voice.

TJ looked up at the deadpan voice talking to him. "Uh, Fighter type? Yea, kinda, but I'm not meant to take hits... If we partied, we'd need either a healer or a tank with us." He wasn't about to die in the beginners area for being careless and dumb. Beyond that, he wondered how in the world this guy thought that every fighter-type could take hits... Or he seemed to think that way at least. TJ had even specifically changed his characters appearance to state the obvious fact that he wasn't able to take more than 2 or 3 strong hits before going down. "By the way..." He looked at the guys name, and noticed something weird. "...why did you use two zeros in your name? Was the regular one taken?"

When dylan heard the words 'party up' he immediantly was paying attention. As a fairly social guy Dylan never liked to solo. Then he noticed the exange was between 2 so he could cram his way into the party "Hey mind if i join to?".

"Something like that" said R00k as he shrugged. He never openly advertised who he was or what he did when he played these kinds of games. To get a good idea of how this game works and whether it was any good; R00k would play as just any other guy. "Okay so you're a DPS rather than a Tank. So we still need a Healer or a Tank.... maybe a Rogue" said R00k as he scratched his chin. Then a scaly black dragon man wandered over and cut into the conversation. From the light armoring and light weaponry, this guy was probably a Rogue. "Well we have our Rogue... we have three now.... all we need is a Tank and a Healer.... then we'd have something like a five person party with all roles covered. More willing to join up now?" replied R00k as he gestured to the newcomer. R00k's goal was to party up so that he had a good chance of surviving and understanding how TA:Re worked. Then he sat at the table and left his staff leaning against the table. The crook-like cane was just something he picked out to fit the mage aesthetic.

Sam woke up from a twelve hour stint of sleep, his exhaustion signifying that not a wink of it meant anything. Swinging out from the thick coverings of his bed, he reflexively stops himself from putting his feet directly on the hardwood floor of his room, but, realizing it's June, plants his feet and stands up. During almost any other season, the floor would be absolutely frigid, but, thankfully, it was summer; the floors were decidedly average temperature, the heating bills were relatively reasonable this time of year, and hey, maybe if he's lucky, it'll be room temperature outside today! No doubt about it, this was his favorite time of year for good reason. However, it was somewhat of a shame; he wouldn't be going outside today not for a lack of adventure, but rather because of it, thanks to the new game he got his hands on.

To be honest, he was amazed at himself for not picking up the game near launch, as the story behind it was honestly something of legend. Aside from the obvious, headline-making fact of Nation using VR and the original Titan Age as an involuntary testing ground for their Altered Time Perception tech, the fact that the company went dormant for so long, and the sequel being this mythic gem of vaporware that had been talked about in rumors for years leading up to the release, it certainly kept the internet intrigued for a long time. When the game finally dropped, a lot of people almost couldn't bring themselves to believe it; at that point it had become a meme that it would never happen, like Half Life or Bannerlord. Yet, here it was.

But, I digress. As a means of coping with the isolating cold of the Alaskan winter, he had taken up VR earlier this year, when the success of Titan Age allowed for several third-party titles to spring up on the platform. Aside from the obvious draw of being able to go anywhere and do anything, simply being able to stretch his legs even in a virtual capacity made it easier to handle being indoors constantly. And now, he had a new place to stretch his legs, in the game where it all began. He wondered if he'd find any easter eggs or references to the old game, or if it was more of a sequel in the Final Fantasy sense. Oh well, only one way to find out.

He picked up his VR equipment, which was essentially an extremely advanced EEG headset and a set sensory interceptor electrodes that went on his temples and neck. It was as basic as they come--he knew there were better versions, hearing stories about massively expensive VR pods that were basically large, ultra-accurate MRIs with state of the art nerve stim resolutions that cost millions--but it was more than enough to get the job done. It was certainly enough to convince his brain it was real, at least. Maybe too real; he didn't like the fact that he now had an idea of what it was like to be shot in the shoulder, let alone the head.

After waiting for his computer to boot, and typing in his password, he opened up his computer library, and, with a little bit of scrolling, he opened up the boot menu for Titan Age: Reborn. Obviously, it can't be played on a monitor, with all the insane complexities that would make even mouse-and-keyboard play impossible, so, after setting the game to boot on his VR gear once it was turned on, he got to work getting comfy. Putting on the electrodes and sliding the headset on over them, he returned to his bed, laying back and getting comfortable, and, once he'd found a position that wouldn't leave his arm numb when he came back out, he reached up and flicked the switch on his headset.

The moment after the headset turned on was like blacking out on these cheap headsets; you feel woozy, everything goes dark for a few seconds, and you come back to consciousness confused and not entirely sure if thirty seconds or a week has passed. It was a quirk Sam was more or less used to at this point. When he did come back to consciousness, however, he was greated by a featureless, empty room, and a menu on a pedastal before him; the character customization. It was here he realized he didn't know what he wanted to be in this world. In every third party game, you just get given a role; in Pavlov Revisited, you're a Terrorist or a Counter-Terrorist, in historical battle simulators, you're either one army or the other. However, Titan Age: Reborn was a VRMMO, and a bloody complex one at that. There weren't even player classes, because the system is based around constructing your class from a list of skills to produce different effects, and it was needless to say there were a good many unique combinations to say the least. He was no stranger to RPGs, in fact he quite enjoyed them and knew deconstructing build metas well, but something about VR made it just that little bit more personal. He considered magic and ranged combat, but coming off the heels of playing a lot of games with extensively tuned gunplay and archery, he didn't want to be let down or confused when the mechanics didn't line up with what he was used to. He decided it would be better to start from a general idea and work his way up, and, after a bit of thinking, he came up with the perfect idea:

What's the loudest, most obnoxious, most stand-out character I could play?

Settling on these criteria, it only made sense to play an Orc, and a big orc at that. He invested heavily into Strength, Constitution, and Endurance, and decided to look at skills, with his eyes immediately settling on Iron Fists and Rage. He then sunk the rest of his stat points into Wisdom so he could actually use his ability, and, when asked what he wanted his character name to be, he opted for Gorgutz, praying nobody would recognize where it's from. He picked relatively reserved attire, thinking he could make his fists speak for themselves. Besides, he didn't want to be too goofy. And just like that, his character was done, and he was dropped into what the game told him was Islesong Island.

When he dropped into the game proper for the first time, he found himself on the shore of a tropical beach. The sand was soft, so soft that Sam doubted any sand like it existed in real life, though never having been to a real tropical beach might have tainted his view. It was warm, too, just the right temperature to be warm enough to be calming to walk on, but not so hot that it starts burning your feet. The smell of the sea breeze and the faint sound of music that permeated the island filled his senses, and in the moment all of the hype was justified; the entire game could be just this moment, and he would sit here happily for hours, with the game being worth every single shiny penny. Of course, he couldn't sit here forever, especially considering the fact there were other people.

People were a double edged sword for Sam. He knew he needed more of them in his life, but sometimes their presence was just so inconvenient. I mean, he couldn't even really be mad, because they were all having their fun just like he was, but it didn't change the fact that the moment was kind of broken by some woman off to the side shouting obscenities when a crab no-sell'd her fireball. At around this time, Sam decided it was about time for him to do what he came here to do, and maybe even meet someone new along the way. Sam decided it was time to be Gorgutz.

"GORGUTZ OUTTA NOWHERE! BANZAI!!!" He shouted, charging at the crab with the hopes of slamming his fist in its face. He smacks it for a solid ten damage after endurance, to which the crab responded with a respectable seven points of damage to him after endurance of its own.

It was an understatement to say that Faye was surprised when a gigantic orc seemingly came out of nowhere. She had doged the crab once before he attacked it, actually doing damage. She wanted to be thankful, it was awefully nice of him to help her out of course, but she wasn't. 'He's stealing my glory' she thought and looked a little annoyed, offended almost. She could take this stupid crab, of course she could. This was beginners island, how hard could it be? Well apparently it was pretty hard, because when she actually attacked the crab, or 'bopped him on the head' it did surprisingly little damage. "What the actual fuck" She said, looking at her hammer with a rather betrayed expression "Bjorn, why do you betray me like that?" She said to her hammer, even though she knew it was just because she had neglected her strength stat a little bit. The more annoyed she got, the more her scandinavian accent came through when she spoke. She simply couldn't help it, right now all her concentration was on this stupid crab and not on pretending to speak English perfectly. She might not be the smartest but at least she had her priorities straight, for now.

Seizing the opportunity, Gorgutz winds up for an attack, delivering a shell-shattering roundhouse kick that finishes off the poor crab, giving him and the fire magic half-elf lady a trickle of EXP and a couple of coins each for their troubles. Naturally, wanting to keep "in character"--even though he'd personally say he's 'trying a different approach to interaction' rather than admit he's doing light roleplay--he celebrates his victory with a bodybuilder pose and a hearty "OOOOH YEAH!!!", before turning to the half-elf without breaking pose and saying, "The name's Gorgutz, if you haven't heard. Send me a friend request so you can thank me later." Then, after breaking pose and letting out a chuckle for saying such a smarmy-ass line, he walks off with as confident a strut as he can muster back to where he was relaxing. On some level, he felt kind of bad for being such a prick, and hoped she wouldn't take it the wrong way, but at the same time, it was... oddly freeing. Maybe if they bumped into each other later, he'd apologize. Or if she walked up to him and kicked him in the kidneys. After all, he's only about twenty-five feet away.

Shaun had just been looking at the menu out of curiosity when Clair sent him a party invite that he accepted. She came into the bar looking paler than normal as she insinuated that he in fact might be an alcoholic. "Seriously Clair if that was true I would be as drunk as the guy in the corner if that was the case," he said pointing to the dwarf in a hawaiian shirt holding a mug in each hand. "Besides bars are always a good place to meet up and make plans in these kind of games. Anyways," he said standing up. "I believe there are monsters to murder and money to gain so why don't we get started." Taking the lead a little since Clair wasn't that much experienced with these kinds of games he went up to the elf, marked Sarah Silver, standing behind the counter. She had the look of an NPC who might have a quest for you if you talked to them enough.

"Excuse me miss you wouldn't happen to have anything that you might need help with?" he asked putting on his best smile. He was sure how this would go since he was in a party with a vampire and they apparently were not well received by certain NPCs. He nearly held his breath as she looked them both up and down probably calculating whether or not she was going to give them a quest, serve them some drinks, or kick them out. The look on her face was a bit hard to read but he was certain that since this was a starting zone that the developers would be a bit more merciful with the hate for werewolves and vampires.

"Well.... I can't be stingy with who can help me if they just happen walk up and ask me. Yes, I do need a little help with a problem that I haven't been able to deal with on my own. My cat muffin went missing recently and if it wasn't for the preparations for today's party happening this evening I would be out looking for him now."

It was a pretty basic quest but for level 1 that was to be expected so he picked yes from the prompt. Sarah thanked them and mentioned that the last time she saw her cat was when she went out to pick fruit out in the forest. It wasn't much to go off of but she marked the location of where that was on a map and handed it to him before waving them off.

"This should easy enough to get done," he said turning to Clair. "How hard can finding a cat be?"

"Don't see why not if we can get a healer and tank." He sends a party invite to R00K and the Dragonborn Rogue. "I doubt we'll just stumble upon one though..." As he says this, he stands up and turns around to head to the bar for a drink, only to bump into an extremely pale woman. "Oh, sorry about that." He smiles in apology before walking around her and heading towards the NPC another guy had just gotten done talking to. After a few seconds, he shrugs and heads back to the table empty handed.

Faye looked on with absolute hatred as the orc finished off the crab. Thas was supposed to be her victory, her first kill. This guy just though he could swoop in and steal it from her. She knew she should have been thankful, perhaps her stats weren't as good as she thought they were, that's what you get when you never play mmorpg's probably. She sighed annoyed as she looked at the guy, gorguts or whatever it was, who stuck a ridiculous pose. "Whatever" She muttered as she swung her hammer over her shoulder and started walking through the sand towards the little town. She didn't feel like dealing with this any longer. She knew she was being petty and irritable, and she knew that she could take this opportunity to make a new friend or whatever. Not yet though, baby steps. Perhaps she'd make friends with someone else, someone who didn't steal her glory. He suggested she should add him as a friend but she didn't feel like it, perhaps if they bumped into each other again.

Once she had reached the town she looked around to see what sorts of things there were to do here. She decided to hit up the shops, to see what was for sale, what kinda things she could save up for. For now there wasn't much that tickled her fancy, besides the pets in the pet shop. Faye had a soft spot for cats, But for now they were kinda pricy. Perhaps she could get one later. She then strolled over to the bar, figuring there would be a good place to get a feel for the place. Perhaps she could even pick up a quest, so she could start saving up for a cat.

The bell above the door rang as she walked into the bar, and it seemed to he decently crowded. She walked up to the bar and decided to spend the money she just earned to order a drink, then the fight would have been good for something at least. "Good afternoon miss" She greeted the woman behind the bar "could I get a beer please?" She asked "and is there perhaps anything you need help with?" She added on to her request.

While Dylan was fideling around with the menu's trying to accept the party invite, he heard someone say.
and is there perhaps anything you need help with?
Dylan immediatly reacted "hey if you want we could team up. I mean We already have a small party lined up." he said while nodding to both R00k and Azh'Shir. "If thats alright with you i mean". Dylan always likes to have a large party since a larger party means better quests and better quests mean better loot and more xp and Dylan liked beign high level.

In the comfort of her Condo's living space, Nereis opened up the box containing Titan Age: Reborn. She did have to admit, the box art was nice and after reading the manual Nereis connected the game to her VR set that had mostly been used for her doctoral training. While Nereis read that people recommend using the VR pod for the best experience if you could afford to do so, Nereis didn't really see the need to do so, nor did she really have the space for it. Get a house then? Inconvenient for work. The closeness to her work and college labs is why she chose to live in the condo's in the first place.

As the game installed, Nereis took the time to eat, since the manual did mention time in the game would flow differently than actual time, so she figured it'd be best to take care of her physical needs first before she found herself starved when exiting the game. After washing her plate and taking one last look out of the window to the city's skyline, Nereis closed the curtains and picked up a remote to dim the lights and turn on a bit of slow swing on the radio. Sitting down on her office chair, which Nereis would say was quite comfortable, Nereis placed the VR headset on and after making sure it wouldn't fall off as she laid back in the chair, began her adventure into her rare downtime.

After loading up the game, Nereis was taken to a character creation and stat allotting screen. Not having played many of these video type games, with TA being her first mmo, Nereis simply picked what appealed to her. Once this was done, Nereis inputted her character's name as Depths and was thrust into a bright light as the world loaded in. As soon as she opened her eyes, the first thing she thought to do was check her body and range of movement. Sure enough, Depths was part lizard-kin. Tail? Check, teeth? Sharp. Scales? Mostly on her tail, with a few on her backside and some on her ears too. Ears? Huh, they looked kinda elvish, but it didn't effect her hearing so it was fine. She even had her lab coat which was nice. And speaking of the scales...
Depths wasted no time with taking one of the scales from an ear and yanking it off. She saw her hp go down a bit and there was a bit of blood, but no pain. Point's off for that, but the scale was highly detailed and didn't disappear in her hand, so she guessed it evened out.

The scale in question was very finely detailed, and Depths first reaction was to see if she could test it's durability. But she didn't have a surgical knife on her and using a rock or her staff to bash it was...primitive at best, so Depths opted to save such an observation for later. Taking a glance at her HP bar, Depths noticed that her health was slowly regen'ing over time.

"Well that's good to know, but I wonder if it's only because I'm out of battle or is it a natural thing so long as I don't lose more than I recover?"

Though Depths was sure she'd find the answer to her question in time. Putting a hand to her eat she had found that the scale had regrown, which was interesting, and dropping the scale she had ripped off, it shattered into data bits when it hit the ground. Wasn't really realistic, but Depths figured it did help keep the game clean. With her self observation done, she decided it was time to explore the island, where better to start than the beach? Walking along the shoreline she say some red head throw a fire ball at a crab, who fairly enough didn't seem quite pleased about being attacked. Then a very loud orc jumped into the fight.

"Well I think it's safe to say that anyone that big would be loud by common standards. Hmm, maybe it's not all that loud by Orc standards though?"

Depths found a nice sized rock to sit on to enjoy the show, and when they finally defeated the crab, she gave two a small clap and a "Wooooo" copying the 'deadpan' expression she'd seen in some shows. Though the cheer was mostly made to amuse herself and the other two wouldn't have heard it. Once the orc and the short red head parted ways, Depths traveled into the tropical forest since she was interested in looking at the plants that were on the island, heck there might even been some edible fruits!

Their little party had a DPS and a Stealth Character now. With him as a combat mage, they had a makeshift unit put together. Unfortunately they still lacked a Tank to absorb damage and a Healer to cure the effects of damage. Without those crucial things, they'd be wiped out faster than a party of pixies in Demon Summoner 3. Looking over at Dylan, he noticed the scaled draconian start up the conversation with a little elf girl. Perhaps he was trying to get a new member for the party. Solid move on his part and it allowed R00k to focus on something else. R00k wasn't the best when it came to drawing people in because of his abrasive and unpleasant nature. While he never went out of his way to be an ass to others, he never held back from being an ass when they deserved it. While he tried to think up a plan of action, Azh'Shir stood up and wandered over to the counter. It seemed like he was conversing with an NPC about something. Then he came back to their table looking a tad downtrodden. "Let me guess....no quests that'd suit our current party set-up?....that or you pissed off the NPC...which I honestly don't see as being that hard" R00k said as he looked at her display name. Sarah Silver? Really creative there Nation, rolls right off the tongue like Gary Green and Oscar Orange. How about next time you try and at least make it more INVENTIVE.

Clair didn't know much about these kinds of games but looking for a cat? Wasn't that a bit simple? None the less it seemed as though Shaun was determined to see this quest through and besides that t least there'd be gold at the end of it right. So with that in mind, Clair followed behind Shaun and the two promptly made their exit after one brute of a man pushed her aside on his own way out. After exiting the bar Shaun voiced that the mission would likely be easy something even Clair thought was a no brainer. "The cat can't be too far, in all likely hood it's near the fishmongers, lets head there first and ask some questions". And with that said Clair motioned for Shaun to follower her, after all, she had spawned near the fishmongers, to begin with, "also it would appear that in this world I hate the sun... so let's make this quick".

Upon reaching the fishmonger Clair began to do a quick sweep of the area, she hadn't found the cat but she had found traces of it being here before. A completely stipped fish skeleton lay on the sands of the beach nearby a tell tail sign a cat or some other creature had been fed by the monger. Approaching the man Clair attempted to ask him a few questions about it but was quickly shut down. "Excuse me, sir, I was just wonde-"
"Where do you get off talking to me like that eh! We don't serve your kind around here! Get out!"
"HOW RUDE!"
"You deaf or something batty! I said clear off! Go on get out of here before I call the priest!"
"Why I never!"
And with that and a huff, Clair stormed off towards the beach.

Harry/Gadear
Interaction: RaynaFon RaynaFon

Having finally gotten of work for the day Harry the usually dreary looking sort of man was actually really excited end been enjoying this new VR game A LOT, if anything Harry was a rather avid role-player And getting to litteral be his character well that was what made it so good. Logging in to Titan age, Harry was no longer Harry well at least to himself he was now Gadear Grayback... now wearing now wearing a swimsuit hoodie and sandals Harry would sigh, he hated these sort of clothing events really broke character... especially since mentioning it would be strange he’d and Gadear would chose to ignore this... atrocious attire and it seemed there was a event going on that involved a quest PERFECT. A chance to enjoy a little bit of this silly event and not have to break character.

T’was a boar hunt then? Well the skills of Gadear Grayback! now if only he could get some others on side, a strange person quick caught there attention they where definitely no dragonborn, yet had reptilian features mayhaps the child of human and dragon born? Blood diluted further? It was a curiousty the artificer wouldn’t leave unanswered, thusly Gadear would follow the reptile girl into the tropical forest eventually catching up to her “ scu’s me thar lassy hopen ya don’ten mind ma intrusion names Gadear, and I couldn’t elp but notice ya appearances is a wee bit odd I mean no offence by this justa a curious dwarf tis all” he’d say with a dwarven accent. it was clearly to the lizard woman Harry or Gadear in this case was definitely getting into character with this question

Walking through the tropic forest, it didn't take long for Depths to find something interesting. Near the forest floor, where a couple of Heliconias or 'Lobster Claw' flowers as they are known. It was nice to see studied detail in the game's world.

While Depths squatted to take a closer look at the flowers, someone else seemed to take the opportunity to address her; Or at least Depths believed it was her since no one else was around. If she wasn't able to pick out a few of the words, the lizard-kin would have believed they were speaking complete gibberish.

Not feeling the need to bother standing up, Depths just moved her body around and wound up staring face to face with a rather beardy sight of a man. The clothes were funny by just how out of place there were if Depths was honest.

Still the problem remained that she only understood half of what was said to her. Though thinking back on what she had hear it seemed a bit familiar; And then it clicked.

"Ahh!" Depths nodded hands placed on her knees, giving the short man her attention. "That's what the locals refer to as 'Old English' I take it. Although I'm not sure what about my looks are off. I thought I looked quite normal for lizard-kin. Or is it something else?" Depths went through another self check, only to notice what she was wearing.

"Ah, well I suppose not everyone goes around in a lab coat so I suppose you are right."

It was then an announcement flashed on her screen about a big pig and dragging it back to tje village to be cooked. It seemed like a bothersome task to Depths, and the event clothes even more so, but it does explain where the small man got the funny clothing from. Checking her inventory, the clothes were indeed there, however, wearing such clothes in a tropical forest, let alone for battle, was highly irresponsible. Besides, Nereis didn't feel comfortable in such attire nor did she know how wearing such a thing would fit with her tail and all.

Thinking such, Depths watched at the swimsuit changed to a one-piece. With pursed lips, Depths pressed the equip button on the event hoodie, exchanging it with her lab coat. At least this way she could wear the event clothes and still be reasonably responsible.

"I already decided not to wear the swimsuit, changing it isn't going to change my mind."

Now came the choice of what she should do next. At the very least she should look a the pig in question no? It was by the southern beach right? If she recalled correctly, the docks was in that direction, so standing up Depths made her way towards the beach and in the direction of the docks; The southern beach the lizard-kin's goal.

Azh'Shir looked at R00k and shook his head. "Nope, just nothing good to drink." He notices everyone begin changing into swimsuits, hoodies and flip-flips or sandals suddenly, and finally notices the announcement. "huh..." He checks his inventory and equips the Swimsuit, hoodie and flip-flips; immediately he notices something wrong... "Oi, ain't this some kinda glitch? I have the female version of the hoodie..." Sadly, this also made him look incredibly feminine. "Well... this is... interesting? I mean, I guess some glitches are to be expected. The game may be out of beta, but glitches are still bound to-" He stops himself from trying to feel better. "nah, screw this. It may be a glitch but god dammit I'm a GUY! I look like a GIRL now!" He stands up and walks out of the bar to blow off some steam and heads into the jungle.
