Realistic or Modern Ticking Time Bomb

A ticking time bomb is right in front of my face. Figuratively, of course.


The biggest storm the world has ever seen, formed by climate change, a nuclear bomb in Syria, and weather itself is barreling through countries, toppling life.


In every town it hits less than 95% survive.


This storm is 3 days away from your small town of Roanake Bay, North Carolina.


There is no escape, as airlines have already shut down, their headquarters and most jets destroyed.


Not only that, but the storm would catch up eventually.


With 3 days left, you could do the things you've waited so long to do.


Talk to the one you love.


Do the things you've dreamed of.


Maybe even binge watch that Netflix series.


But only 3 days are left,


and the bomb is ticking.

HISTORY
Ophelia doesn't like to talk about her past. She's only ever told the police and her therapist about it. Ophelia is the only child of two drug addicts: Alastair Lovelace, and Jessamine Lovelace. Jessamine Lovelace, aged 17, died shortly after giving birth to Ophelia. Alastair had been so excited to have a child. He wanted a son. He didn't expect to learn that his girlfriend was dead and that his son was actually a girl.


Alastair mistreated Ophelia, blaming her for the death of her mother, and for anything else he can think of. Alastair was still battling his addiction, and now with alcohol. He'd hit Ophelia. One night, she'd walked in on him having sex with some woman. He didn't do anything at the moment, but send her to her room. The next morning, he handcuffed to her bed, and burned her. Her burns weren't severe, but she didn't get pain relief, that's for sure. She still has the scars to this day.
 


At 19. Ophelia still lives with him. One, she can't go to college. She never had a proper education, and two, her father never lets her out. He heard news of the big storm, and has dissapeared. Now, Ophelia is alone to explore the world for her first, and possibly the last, three days of her life.




MISCELLANEOUS
Massive stutter, so she doesn't like to talk. Never went to school, so she can't read and do many things others do. She's only ever felt violence, so everything is unknown to her. She's practically a newborn baby.
