World-Renowned Dawdler
As wars raged on among the humans, technology advanced, though none of it would preserve Earth's former glory. A large percentage of the population was wiped out, but not before the first sentient AIs were created. As the first machines which were capable of thought learned, they created more, and the newer generations created newer generations. The AIs evolved with each new wave, and they adapted personalities, aspirations and fears.
The remaining humans watched as machines crawled out of cracks in the barren ground, watched as they recreated society. They were intelligent, and they were oddly... peaceful. There was the usual quarrel among individuals who had conflicting personalities, of course, but they were so different from the organics when it came to the lack of war. Perhaps they learned from humanity's mistakes?
Humans were afraid, but they couldn't hide in shelters forever. AIs scoured the Earth, collecting resources and deciding where to plant the next city. The humans were discovered, and they were studied. Not in a cruel manner, not at all. They were given homes, food, water, but were under constant surveillance. An ever-watchful eye hung over their heads as they lived their new lives.

Sorry for the long plot section! This is a post-apocalyptic AU, involving humans and robots, as you may have read. Open to anyone, so long as you're at least semi-literate. If you have any questions pertaining to the RP, just ask me.
The RP follows basic site rules.
Anyway, onto the character templates. There are two of them.
Human:
Name:
Gender:
Organic or Machine:
Age:
Appearance: (description or image)
Likes: (just a few things)
Dislikes:
Personality: (A paragraph would be ideal.)
History: (same as personality, paragraphs are preferred)
Extra: (Optional)
Machine:
Name:
Gender: (if they have one)
Organic or Machine:
Age:
Appearance: (they can be humanoid or not)
Function:
Generation: (there are currently eight generations. Older generations are less advanced and typically less complicated when it comes to personality.)
Likes:
Dislikes:
Personality:
History: (history can be a bit shorter for AIs)
Extra: (Optional)
For example, here's a couple robot OCs:
Name: Epoch
Gender: Male
Organic or Machine: Machine
Age: 28
Appearance: He resembles a dark blue disk, which has a diameter of sixteen inches and is eight inches thick. On the bottom he has what is like a cone, though the bottom is flat, that has his six bright green optics. The headpiece can turn 360 degrees. Epoch has many thin arms, varying in length, and end in different tools (such as claws or small magnets). On his top is a magnetic wheel that can lengthen and shorten, which is smooth and a light grey, that is made to attach to ceilings. As well, he has a maintenance panel by the base of the wheel. The rest of him is completely smooth.
Function: To study humans.
Generation: 6
Likes: Humans, reading, books, movies.
Dislikes: Water, animals, heat, the outdoors.
Personality: Epoch is, overall, very intelligent. He immerses himself in old books that were recovered from human wreckage, along with movies of the same origin. The AI fawns over humans and expresses the desire to be one himself, often envying their mobility. He assumes this fascination comes from his function, though he doesn't mind his programming biting at him like that. Being a bit uptight, he is stressed easily and has trouble befriending people. Epoch dislikes the outdoors (mostly due to the lack of places he can latch on to).
History: He was built in a factory, like all of the other generations, and was given a little haven to rest in as he learned of the previous inhabitants of the planet. He sends this data to the large, collective intelligence of the AIs. Epoch lived this way for a few years before the first humans were discovered. Gladly volunteering to watch over some of them, he was given the task to monitor certain humans which now reside in the easily-accessible (to him) living quarters below his rooms.
Extra: Is light, to make it easier for smaller robots to carry him if he must disengage from the ceiling.
Name: Nina
Gender: Female
Organic or Machine: Machine
Age: 4
Appearance: She has white plastic plating and resembles a short, curvy human female. Nina lacks hair, or anything resembling it, and has two round, bright, solid pink optics. Her hands are small but nimble, and she lacks a mouth. Has two ports on her back.
Function: To take care of humans.
Generation: 8
Likes: Humans, animals, other AIs, the sun.
Dislikes: Rain, thunder, loud noises, illness.
Personality: Nina is very friendly and innocent. She's smart when it comes to medicine and cooking, but is pretty dim when it comes to most things that don't involve human care. Being gullible, she will do most things that a human would tell her, and is loyal. Very bubbly and very girly, it's obvious she hasn't spent much time with the older AIs. She's very social.
History: Nina was a member of the newest batch, produced after interest in humans peaked. Along with her many sisters, it's her job to make sure that the endangered species is well taken care of. She was shipped to a city which is home to some humans, to make sure that they are comfortable and happy with their lives as artifacts of a lost civilization that wiped itself out.
Extra: Sometimes wears clothes (normally dresses) which is based off of old human fashions (typically 1900's, 1800's).
A few notes about the world: there are some remaining animals, such as mice, squirrels, insects. Smaller things. There are still some plants left, as well, like some small forests. And on the subject of AI generations, every generation is separated by roughly 15 years.
As well, there will be an NPC, who monitors the whole robot society. He/she/it won't get in the way.
