J stands at 5'11" with a fit physique; he may not appear to be so strong at first glance, but he has muscles for go. His body is covered in almost too may tattoos to count, including his face, where he got the number "21" tattoo'd shortly after his twenty-first birthday. John has dark blue eyes, muddled with other colors like hazel and green upon a closer look - sometimes that means his eye-color shifts. His usual outfit is jeans with a loose t-shirt and canvas sneakers.

Relationships:
Mike Silverman (Father) = J's relationship with his father is tense; he had never liked the fact that his son "defaced" his body and "ruined his handsome face" with body modifications. Ever since the Invaders appeared, however, the two have been working on mending their relationship through old shared interests like hunting and survival, easy to do when they had almost nothing left.
Juliet Silverman (Little Sister) = J has always been protective of Juliet, is only sibling and younger sister. Along with his grandmother, she seemed to be the only person in J's family who was always on his side.
Lisa Silverman (Grandmother) = J is Lisa's one and only grandson, and she would give anything for her grandson to have a good life, even once all of this ends. She is quite old and frail, resides in the warmest place in the store and lives out her days in a wheelchair with a blanket draped over her legs.
Annie Elssler (Ex-Girlfriend) = Annie was J's high-school sweetheart and their chemistry was undeniable, until Annie's father caught wind of their relationship and threatened J with his shotgun. After high school the two never saw each other, apart from occasional run-ins at festivals or the store, but both kept their distance while seeing other people. Now Annie's father has gone missing without a trace, and she is stuck in the superstore with an ex-boyfriend she may or may not still have feelings for.

History:
Juliet was a happy child with a wild imagination. She always hung off her older brother because of how cool she thought he was. Her parents were upset because he was a 'bad influence' on her. She never believed them and kept hanging around her brother. When she heard about poke tattooing she had her friend give her a heart. Her parents were so upset, saying it had gone too far. She continued to ignore them and hang out with her big brother.​

Connor is on the shorter side standing at about 5'6" and weighing around 170lb. He may be short but his frame is packed with muscles. Connor has light gray eyes that seem to reflect the weather outside. When they are light clear so is the weather outside, when they are dark, it means storms are on the horizon. Its not always the case but there have been many coincidences. He can typically be seen in formfitting shirts, accompanied by jeans or cargo shorts.

Connor came to town about two months before the aliens came. He hadn't had a chance to make any real connections anyone other than as acquaintances. His mother and father live back in New York, with his brother Scott and his twin Theo. He has no idea if they are still alive and he hope that once the world becomes safe again they can find each other.

Annie's hair is long and black, stopping around the middle of her back. Her stature is a bit taller than most women, giving her height that's about 5'8". Her eyes are light blue and piercing themselves, staring into them could leave you 'hypnotized', as she'd put it. Originally from Germany, she has a few German characteristics, such as her pale skin, eyes, straight teeth, etc. She has her left (right in the picture) arm covered in a sleeve of tattoos, which she acquired after moving into her own place and paying for herself. On her right forearm, a small tattoo of a spider. She usually wears skirts, heels, dresses and jackets, but is seen wearing normal casual clothing like t-shirts and jeans if the situation calls for it.
Relationships: Harold Elssler (dad, suggested deceased) - A man with a bad temper, known for not letting Annie get into much trouble on his watch, and a fan of guns. Lots of disapproval with her relationship choices, such as Jackson Silverman, who he practically stripped from Annie in her high school years, and after, almost never talked to again, except on the off occasion. Harold is now nowhere to be seen, and Annie hasn't talked to him in a long while, being an adult now. She can only hope he's still alive.
Jackson Silverman (ex-boyfriend, alive) - A guy she had outstanding chemistry with in high school, which was abruptly ended by her father and his temper.

Liselotte Elssler (mom, deceased) - A woman, originally from Germany. Loving woman, spoken in broken English, but taught Annie how to be brave, courageous, and kind. A few years after moving to America, got diagnosed with breast cancer and ended up dying shortly after Annie's graduation, leaving Annie with her dad.

OG/NC: Richard was a coward when the world fell. He was inside of the local high school when civilization faltered, and his first thought was to barricade himself and himself only with the food and back up generators. He sealed up certain areas of the school as best he could despite several citizens, his own students, begging to be let in. No one knew he was the one specifically behind those walls, but about a week into the fall he showed up at the shelter panicked and desperate. He has not brought up where he was or that he left the school or why.

Etc.: -Came to the town about one year ago, he lived there as a kid but left for University and Grad school
-He was holed up in the school for a week during the fall, abandoning those asking to be let in. He has not shared this information, nor about the status of supplies or why he left.
-He does not like getting his own hands dirty or doing any kind of heavy lifting. A bit of a wimp.
-Considers himself a scholar and a thinker, while also having a bit of an uppity attitude. In moments of stress though, he cracks easily.

Mike is the classic "American Father" type of man, standing at 6'1" with broad shoulders and a strong build. He has a few scars on his hands from fishing and hunting incidents, or slips while carpenting.
Relationships:
Jackson Silverman (Son) = See J's form.
Juliet Silverman (Daughter) = Mike would lay down his life to protect either of his children and loves them unconditionally, even if he does not always approve of their choices. He worries about how Juliet will turn out, given her past actions, and struggles with figuring out how to handle raising her alone.
Lisa Silverman (Mother) = As he grew up, Mike had always taken more after his more conservative, traditional father than his renegade mother. When his children came into the picture the rift grew, but despite a few rocky situations the two of them get along well.
Karla Swanson (Ex-Wife) = Before the Invaders arrived, Mike already knew what it was like to face losing everything thanks to his ex-wife. Tired of living "nowhere" as she called it, despite it having been a great place to raise their children, she had an affair with a businessman that had a Summer cabin in Eveton. Before their divorce was finalized and Karla could have won custody of J and Juliet, the Invaders arrived, placing a halt on the court proceedings. Karla's fate is unknown and her children remain in the shelter with Mike.

Rev. Skies has worked the local Eveton church for almost five years. Keeping local and never traveling to far away from home. He live in a small house less than a block away from the church. The man had made quite a life for himself, happily running the local church and raising his adopted son on his own. While he doesn’t always try to push religion, he does attempt to bring hope and life into the small town. He isn’t known by many people. Mainly only those who attend the church.

Gordon has pale blue eyes and short, almost silver blond hair. At 6'2 with a lean yet sturdy build, he looks much stronger than he actually is. His frailness is betrayed by the shallowness of his pale skin, which gives him a perpetually sickly look. Never the daring type, Gordon has no piercings nor tattoos. He usually wears a T-shirt or printed button up with muted colors, jeans or khakis, a pair of canvas shoes, and (when the weather warrants it) a tan overcoat with a brown scarf.

Gordon moved to Eveton to pursue a degree in journalism, which he has been working on for a couple of years now. His entire family -- his mother, father, and three older sisters -- still live in New Jersey. He hasn't heard from them since the incident, a cause of great anxiety for him.

Eva was given up for adoption by her mother who was still in high school when she had her. She was adopted by an older couple who were killed by the Invaders, and does not know the identities of her birth-parents.
Being a former police officer, Eva knows the importance of staying active and can be found sprinting, jogging, or doing body-weight exercises around the shelter every morning. Sometimes other residents will join her. In the shelter's school, she is the PE instructor.
Even though she knows that there is not much hope for humankind and often struggles with negative thinking, Eva helps other women in the shelter keep faith by giving them "Make-overs" with the massive supply of beauty products that now have no other use.
Her personality is extremely strong, warm and passionate. She is also a huge flirt, something with is bound to get her in trouble someday.

He keeps his hair edged to perfection and his face as shaved as possible - He has been getting older after all. He no longer has the body he did in the past, but maintains an athletic build through nutrition and daily exercise.

• Lela Weldon (Wife): Luther asked for Lela’s hand at the age of 21. They were together for 25 years until she passed away from terminal cancer. Lela fought through chemo therapy for years, but was unfortunately not able to overcome. She was a good woman who cooked, took care of their only child Darshan and was there for him through the good and the bad. He honors her memory every morning by stepping into his porch, sitting in her rocking chair and giving a small prayer before breakfast.
• Mike Silverman (Friend/Neighbor): Mike is one of Luther’s only friends in town. They tend to drink together at a local pub some nights to get away from reality. The camaraderie between the two appears solid as they’re characters have many similarities.
• Darshan Weldon (Son): Luther’s son Darshan currently studies at the University of Mississippi. He obtained a scholarship to play Football for Ole Miss. Darshan’s dream however is to obtain his PhD in psychology. Luther has not heard from his son since his mother’s funeral.

She used her own face for Jane and looked like a salvage yard version of Wonder Woman.

She has a tendency to go with jeans, or blue jean looking blues like the shirt above. Also will get a brown leather jacket for cooler weather, maybe a jean jacket.

Scars: Covered with them. Most small ones have faded in the past year or she uses makeup. Looks like she might have tried to kill herself by slitting her wrists - straight across and jagged. Not true. Gang tried to kill her and she ended up in a bad accident. (hit by a truck and a police car.)

She had yet to do a single autograph, keeping her pen name a secret to the public until she finished high school. Her limo driver was a former USMC Major with an adopted son and daughter. Her daughter had been in USMC ROTC at Twentynine Palms. That was where Diane parted company to determine the fate of her own family.

Relationships: She has no idea what has happened to the Millers (foster family). She made it home to Rome, GA but the house was abandoned. She ran into some of the aliens and escaped with her life thanks to ingenuity … and the weapons the marines let her leave with. Her original family is dead at least a year before The Fall.

Background

Diane came from a large military family - or rather was adopted into one as a stepchild. By default, large meant poor. After all, the government didn’t issued families. On their fixed income, while dealing with medical issues and the costs of constantly moving from base to base life was tough. One had to learn to adapt to survive. It didn’t help that her mother little better than trailer trash. It didn’t help that her stepbrother and stepsister into everything their father forbade - gangs, drugs. He assumed she was too.

Last summer her stepbrother and stepsister were both killed by a rival gang. At least that was the rumor. The same gang broke into her home and killed her mother and two younger half brothers. Her father was on tour overseas at the time and never made it home.

She moved to Rome, GA where she lived next door to a salvage yard with foster parents. At least that was the rumor. The truth was that she was Emancipated and RENTED them. She also worked for them as their IT department and had begun to turn into their Marketing Manager. She found them through their attempt to become foster parents or even adopt which was being very slow to approve.

When the Fall happened she was in Hollywood working on a movie deal for her book. (It would have been her first movie, filming was underway with about a year to go. Fans were looking forward to it. Fantasy set in 19th century Earth.) But with the Fall, she struck out for home by way of Twentynine Palms (USMC training there where her driver had a daughter in ROTC), made it home, and found home, her school, and Rome a ghost town.

She survived a patrol, more specifically squad of 4 out of 20, and being forced to flee, barely outrunning the other squads on her motorcycle. She arrived in Eveton walking her motorcycle. She wore a poncho covered in a thick layer of refractory mud as was her motorcycle.

Background
He is half Native American, part Asian, part Caucasian. He has no idea of tribe, etc. He was orphaned and abandoned. After getting bounced around he ended up getting taken in as a foster kid, later adopted. He met his foster parents, who later adopted him while run from truant officers. He had run into the back of the kitchen from the back alley and ran into her. She took one look at the kid who started to look for a weapon. She paralyzed him with that look and asked him if he would rather used to have a meal to eat or cut a person. His hesitation was enough. So was the rumble his stomach made. The kitchen did smell great. She ordered him to wash up before she showed him how to make a simple soup.

His foster mother, Narcisse Nzuyen-Arishima runs a Cajun - Asian Food court - indoor dining / carry out. She got sued for the name of her store by a star restaurant by that name. She herself as a mix of Cajun/Creole and Vietnamese. His foster father was Asian and ran an auto shop.

His father (and uncle) are Korean - Japanese immigrants. Their father brought them over with their mother and intended that they share the operation of the family dojo and garage. Cody’s foster father was the older of these two. His foster uncle was the younger and a prodigy who wanted more from life. The decision to leave to study abroad and chase dreams created a rift between the brothers.

His father is now a vegetable from an "accident" involving carbon monoxide and carelessness. He refused to pay extortion money. The same gangs are charging heavy extortion rates to the restaurant. (Deceased after the Fall)

The cops involved were on the take for the mafia. They hated the kid. Cody dropped out of school after 8th grade to help run the restaurant so his mother could care more for his father. Cody also worked part time at the auto shop.

Uncle: Jin Woo Arishima (Age 42)

His Uncle (father's brother) Jin Woo Arishima was the prodigy of the family and built a solar research think tank out in Arizona. He has since hired a CEO to run his business in his absence and moved to New Orleans to help the family. He took up homeschooling his nephew. It was that or force Cody to go back to school. Cody opted for homeschooling.

Personality
So as you can imagine Cody has a few chips on his shoulders. First of all he is overly sensitive about his Native American heritage. Truth is he knows next to nothing about it. He has a chip on his shoulder about privileged people. He has a chip on his shoulder about education. He has a chip on his shoulder about cops being dirty. As often as he has been harassed, can you blame him?

But once you get past all the chips, Cody is a very kind individual. He loves cooking. He loves mechanics. He’s hardworking and responsible. He is accustomed to getting up before the sun rises to prep the restaurant for the day .. and staying to clean up at the end. He is a natural chef, creative without even trying hard.

Other stuff
Cody speaks several asian languages - all the ones at the food court, plus Cajun.

He is highly skilled in martial arts and modestly skills in the associated weapons. (His father had a private dojo. His uncle has picked up with the training.)

Gear
The “super” solar go kart - mentioned here as Cody and his Uncle will lament about missing it from time to time.
Cody had a custom designed ultralight electric vehicle built mostly by his Uncle. The power supply was salvaged from LS-218 motorcycles - fastest in the world. Streamlined housing was 3D printed from the same sort of materials used in formula ones. (His uncle was having fun.) (His range was 300-450 miles on a 60 kWh set of batteries.)
