Fantasy The Zodiac Curse

Zamice

No.
Long, long ago, God invited thirteen animals to a feast for the next day. The cat, the rat, the ox, the tiger, the rabbit, the sheep, the dragon, the pig, the dog, the rooster, the snake, the monkey and the horse were all invited. The mischievous rat, who likes to play practical jokes, told his friend, the cat, that the banquet was the day after tomorrow.

The next day, on their way to the banquet, the rat rode on the back of the ox so he could jump off and be first to the banquet. The animals had a wonderful time, except for the cat. The foolish cat waited for the feast that would never come.

Because of this, the cat and the rat can never get along.

Guther sat on the bench, headphones in. From where he stood, he could see deep into the forest that mostly surrounded the town. There was a small nudge on his leg, so Guther looked down and saw the brown and white bunny. He picked up the bunny gently and placed it on his lap. Maybe being cursed did have its advantages.

Karie walked around the town, purposely navigating so that she would be in as much shade as possible, it was too hot and on most days she would still be asleep at this time but had been woken up by about ten cats staring at her through her window, meowing loudly, being to creeped out to go back to sleep she just got up and ready for the day, it was school break so there was no need for her too rush about. The streets were reasonably empty as no one else really came out at mid-day during summer, she jumped down from the fence she was balancing on and scanned the area again, it seemed she was out of shade... sighing she continued, there was always the option of the forrest, but... well... not many people go into the forrest and lets just say even less come out, it wasn't like she couldn't handle it, being trained in martial arts and kendo ever since she was young made sure of that, but she just couldn't be bothered, as she continued she noticed a boy sitting on a bench with headphones in, stroking a rabbit, she walked closer curious and suddenly surprisingly hungry, sniffing the air as she went. "It was going to rain later today" was her conclusion. @Zamice

Guther looked up at the clear, sunny sky. Something was coming, probably a storm despite the current weather. The bunny on his lap felt it too, he could tell. The music was quiet, so Guther heard the person coming. He turned, and saw a girl, probably only a few years younger then he was.

Karie jumped back into a comedic ninja-like position as the boy looked at her, "I..err...hi there!" she replied smiling and coming out of the strange pose. @Zamice

Guther was surprised at first, with the ninja-girl and all, but quickly went back to normal. Muting his music and removing his headphones, Guther replied. "Hi, I'm Guther..."

@TheHappyPikachu

Katie approached the boy holding out her hand, "I'm..Karie... Nice to meet ya'!" she smiled again, awkwardly laughing whilst trying to brush off the ninja-pose from before, she looked down at the rabbit "that's a cute bunny...is it yours?" she asked curiously.

"Oh, ok then..." she said slightly confused why a wild rabbit just approached someone... she noticed him making room for her and went to take a seat, tripping as she went, falling directly on top of him. @Zamice

Karie got up holding her head, "a..are you alright?.." she asked as the puff of smoke cleared, smoke?...but wait. why would smoke appear unless... she looked down to see a rabbit in the pile of over-sized clothing, she stared at it blankly a moment "oh, my gosh I'm so sorry!!" she said quickly, freaking out "I..I..I didn't mean too, I swear!" she said...all the stress had gotten too her and she felt her heart-rate increase "oh..no.." is all she managed to say before a puff of smoke once again appeared, surrounding her, when it was clear all that stood there was a small cat in a pile of clothes, she blinked a few time before suddenly yelling at the rabbit "don't you dare look at my underwear you weirdo!" she then dragged her clothes off to the side, blushing, and hiding them under a bush before returning. @Zamice

Lycia was rushing towards the clothes store to deliver the 10 rolls of fabric the shopkeeper had asked her to buy. She knew her step-father wouldn't mind if she were a bit late in her shift (she could already hear him nagging about taking a week-long break because she's done quite enough for the restaurant), but she couldn't really thank him enough.

As she was briskly walking towards the shop, she abruptly stopped when she noticed a bizarre event. 'A pile of clothes and two animals...? Must be the fatigue getting to me.' She shook her head, as if shaking off the incident from her mind and continued walking.

Karie also took note of the human, making sure it had passed before she responded "y..yeah...I am..." She said shyly, nodding. Before wandering after the human, she had intrigued her and...didn't want to discuss the curse further "well, cya!" She said before following after the girl, after catching up she meowed at her, softly brushing against her leg. @Zamice @Lyxias

"O-oh." Lycia flinched a bit when she suddenly felt something furry brush against her leg. She looked down and saw a cat at her feet, adorably meowing. She loved cats, and she would have certainly patted its head endlessly if only she hadn't been carrying all those rolls of fabric.

"Sorry, I would certainly pet you but, as you can see, both my hands are occupied." She smiled apologetically at the cat then looked pointedly at what she was carrying, hoping it would understand her predicament. "Maybe next time." She slowed down her walking pace, so she wouldn't surprise the cat with her sudden movement. @TheHappyPikachu

Karie nodded at the girl staring at the fabric and then back at her, she continued to follow finding the situation quite amusing, 'this girl is interesting!' She thought, if cars could smile she defiantly would be right now, she meowed again as they walked. @Lyxias

After around 3 or 5 minutes of walking, Lycia stopped in front of a building that sported a somewhat grand glass display of this season's trendy apparel. She groaned when she read the small sign on the entrance saying: "Pull". After a few attempts of balancing the rolls of fabric on her arm and trying to reach the door's handle, she finally got in the store.

"Mister, here's what you asked for." She dumped the fabric on the counter and smiled at the slightly older gentleman on the counter.

"Reliable as usual, Lycia." The man nodded at her gratefully and gathered the rolls to transfer them to another room. "I really ought to treat you to a meal one of these days. But I guess that's hardly rewarding because you probably eat great meals everyday."

"Ah, no, it's a pleasure to be of help. I'll be sure to relay your kind words to my father about his cooking." The shopkeeper could have sworn her smile became brighter as she heard her step-father being praised. "See you later then, mister."

She walked out of the shop and noticed that the cat was still following her.

"Huh. You're still here." She bent down and gently lifted the cat. "Come on, I'll treat you to some sardines~" She hummed happily as she carried the cat in her arms, idly patting its head as she walked to the restaurant. @TheHappyPikachu

Karie waited outside as she watched the girl enter the store, her tail swaying happily from side to side, once the girl came out she was picked up and carried off whilst being petted... 'This is nice' she thought cheerfully to herself, 'but I don't have much time before I transform back...' She tried to count how much time had passed by as they entered a restruant. @Lyxias

Callie walked into the forest. The stress of her recent move was starting to get to her. Sometimes she could even feel the wings and tail sprouting from her back. She sat down on a nearby bench and sighed. "Well, if I have to transform now, I guess here would be the best place to do it."

Enya sat on the roof of a stone building that had once been a temple for humans. Behind her was a lion with tawny fur who didn't seem to mind the girl resting against his side. He purred as Enya ran her fingers through his mane and twitched his tail ever so slightly. The ruins were Enya's home and where she had been raised and grown up after her adopted tigress mother had found her when her human mother had abandoned her at just a few days old. "Let's go see mother's grave and make sure no humans have disturbed it Leo," she said to the lion as she got up and climbed on top of the lion as he rose to his paws with a yawn. Gathering his muscles, Leo leaped to the ground and set off for the grave beneath a redwood tree as Enya clutched a little of his mane in her hands. Leo ran along the paths of the ruins and then towards the redwood tree that stood deep in the forest. @PokemonGirl

Karie jumped out of the girls arms, maybe she would come back in a bit, after all she was good at remembering the names of places where they gave out food. She ran quickly into the woods, deeper and deeper as she knew that she would change back at any moment and had forgotten the exact position of her clothes... She didn't know just how long or far she had run until she eventually stopped underneath a redwood tree, she had stopped by here before, it was deep in the Forrest and no humans came here so it was ok for her to transform at, but as she stopped she saw a red-headed girl racing towards it... On a lion?... @eclipsehowls

Leo slowed down as they got close to the redwood tree and scented the air to make sure the tiger's daughter wasn't in danger of being caught again by humans like when she had been a kitten. Finding no trace of them-even though they never came this deep into the forest-he lowered himself to the ground and Enya let go of his mane before sliding down. Enya's indigo-blue eyes searched the area around her mother's tree curiously as Leo stood up again and remained by her side. "Thank you Leo," she said and the lion gave a purr before nuzzling his head against her hand. Enya rubbed Leo's head and one of his ears before walking towards the redwood. As she walked towards her mother's grave, she spotted the cat standing underneath it. "Did you get lost from your human kitty?" Enya asked. @TheHappyPikachu

Karie stiffened slightly as the girl noticed her 'oh, no! This is bad, very bad! If she sees me transform!' The thoughts rushed through Karie's head as she backed away a bit once she had loosened again, shaking her head from side to side In a way as to say no. @eclipsehowls

Leo heard a female voice and turned his head towards it and padded up to Enya and nudging her towards the tree where he had seen the lithe body of a leopard high up in the branches. He let out a roar and the leopard dived down from the branch it had been resting on before bowing to Enya and let out a hiss. "Saber," Enya said as she knelt at the African Leopard's side, and began petting his deep golden fur. "Is mother's grave well?"

Saber nodded and ran his tongue down Enya's hand as he was petted, his body vibrating with the purring he was doing. Leo turned and padded off in the direction of the female voice before coming across Callie and stared at her with his golden eyes. The felines couldn't talk to anyone other than Enya so instead he let out a warning growl to leave the forest. @PokemonGirl

She watched Leo move off into the forest while Saber turned his eyes on the little cat cousin. Enya looked at the cat, wondering where Leo had gone. They had plenty of food back home. "Hungry? I have some meat you can eat, if you feel like you can eat deer though I'll have to cut it up for you," she said. @TheHappyPikachu
