Hazel was adopted to a privileged family from Salem with her sister. Her parents heard the story of the twins abandoned on the foot of the orphanage and immediately wanted the girls. No one could have predicted how different Hazel was, though. First off, her sleep schedule even as a baby was erratic. Hazel always stayed up all night and napped when the sun started to come up. No matter how many doctors she went to, no matter how much medication she took, no matter what she did she couldn't break the cycle. She had no past trauma or any reason to be this way, it was just how her body functioned. By now she was used to it, the short periodic naps sustained her even when school started. Second off, Hazel didn't really like the sun. It was warm, she preferred the cold. Hazel had many little quirks. Thankfully her parents and sister never seemed bothered by her.

All her life Hazel had felt like the weird girl. Typically she preferred books over people as she much preferred learning than actually socializing. She's sarcastic, sassy, and witty. Currently she's attending her last year at Salem State University for her Bachelor's of Science.

Long ago when the world was one Illiana was born on top of mount Olympus. She was raised by her mother who was a large and beautiful phoenix. Her mother raised her to believe in the good in people, taught her to live in harmony with people, and most importantly taught her to protect the people. Phoenix's were guardians and that's why they were able to be reborn. So Illiana did just that and she protected people and lived in harmony with them in her human form. When a threat came she protected them with her mother. The people cheered for them, they had a shrine to them. When the fight against creatures broke out the village defended the fire birds that guarded them. The witch summoned all creatures to her but the two birds stayed in their village, they were safe there.

The neighboring town caught wind and raided her village, set the whole place on fire. Her mom and her fought to protect everyone and get them out through the woods. They saved everyone but unfortunately the angry townees had captured her mother. Her mother yelled at her to go to the witch and that she would meet here there. But...her mom never made it there. Illiana left one of her radiant feathers outside the portal in hopes of her mother finding it.

Illiana spends her days flying around the new world to make sure things were in order. You could say she became the pet of the royal family, always reporting any changes back to the Queen. She was even one of the people that helped get the twins out. Illiana spends every Halloween guarding the portal at the request of the first queen. She's quiet, honest, and kind.

Hunter Lupis

Hunter is the son of the Alpha of the Lupus pack. Last names were considered an old world tradition but wolves used the names to label their packs as a means of intimidation. The Lupus wolves were loyal to the Queen, they had been serving her since they arrived in the new world. Each generations served as the protector of the Queen, the rest of the pack serving as the protectors of the people of Holly. Hunter was the 10th generational first born son and he was to take over guarding the next queen. So that's what he was forced to train for since he was born.

When Hunter was 3 the twins were born and he knew his job was to protect them. He was happy to be able to look after the girls, he wasn't aware of any prophecy. He didn't expect to watch the girls get taken away because of some dark force. It was his job to protect them, he tried his best to fight the darkness in his wolf form. The young pup was injured and failed to protect the girls. Hunter was angry at himself, it was his job to protect the girls and he failed them, he failed their whole world. The queen never once blamed Hunter and neither did his father and, honestly? That made it worse. Hunter became angry at himself and took all the blame despite the fact that no one blamed him. Every time someone looked at him he felt judged and angry.

Hunter avoids the castle, the Queen, and his father. He frequently spends his time in the darker side of town sparring with strong opponents. He also goes into the woods to find stronger opponents. In addition to all of that, Hunter has spent every Halloween at the portal fighting the Phoenix. His life's goal was to get through that portal and find the girls even if it killed him. That was his mission in life. Unfortunately for him the phoenix was strong and he could never defeat her.

In Hunter's wolf state he is a very large midnight black wolf with golden eyes.​

Willow Ingrid Keene

The Sun Witch​

Willow was adopted to a privileged family from Salem alongside her twin sister Hazel. From minute one on this earth the twins were vastly different, they slept at different times, liked different things and acted different. They were quite literally night and day. Hazel preferred the evening and wasn't what one would call a morning person in any sense of the word. Willow on the other hand was bright eyed and bushy tailed whenever the sun rose into the sky.

Willow was popular and social, sweet and friendly. Her shining personality even went as far as to make her Miss Teen Salem while she was in high school and now in her college career she was making a run for Miss America. Willow was currently going to school at Salem State for marketing, though she wasn't anything near the brainiac her twin was.

Even with her sunshiny personality and friendliness, Willow had few friends. The girls who were popular were always so mean and the boys only interested in one thing. In reality her only friends were Hazel and Ian, the two people she spent almost all of her time with.

When most normal human thought of a banshee they thought of terrible old women who screamed when death was approaching. evil and horrid looking creatures. In reality, banshees were a long and proud family full of powerful women. At birth they were un-named and trained in their craft until their 15th birthday when they took their trial. Once judged based on their power they were then named by a retiring woman handing down both her name and assignments. Aava was a legend, it was the first time in 300 years that an Aava was finally able to retire. She was talented and honed into her powers, she could smell death a mile away and feel it coming days in advance. Thus why she was assigned Holly as her duty, most magical creatures lived very long lives so when someone passed away it was quite the big deal.

Aava was quiet and serious most of the time, a lot of people had high expectations for her. Aava can physically appear in two forms, one her typical physical body and another as a spectral being.

When Ian was two he was introduced to the twins. Their parents were friends so naturally him and his twin sister grew up with the girls. He loved the girls like sisters, he looked out for the girls like he did his twin. Ian was very athletic and played in soccer throughout his childhood, he ended up being a pretty popular kid. He was friends with pretty much everyone growing up but he always gravitated around the twins. He's always thought the girls were a little different but that was what he liked best about them.

Ian is a fun loving, easy going guy. Well, up until a year ago. His sister was walking to their on campus apartment after class. Ian was going to drive her but soccer practice had ran a little late so she decided to walk. No one could have predicted a mugger getting a hold of her. There was a struggle as she fought back. The mugger was high on meth and ended up shooting her, taking her things, and running for the dear life. Thankfully someone heard the gun shot and called the cops. The cops found the kid and the kid led the cops to the body. Ian wasn't the same after that, he became more guarded and protective of Hazel and Willow. He already lost one sister he couldn't lose another.

Kayde had an upsetting life to both himself and anyone with half a heart. His father? Certifiably insane. Kayde's father WAS the darkness, the very thing that turned their world upside down. The thing that displaced the princesses and really put everyone on edge for the past 21 years. His mother didn't want him to even chance falling into his father's mentaility, this evil need for more power, this hatred for being pushed into a world when humans were so weak.... So on the night that the twins were supposed to be getting their power's stolen, Kayde was smuggled away by their maids as a toddler. They were to live a quiet life in town as common folk. For the first few years of this life, Kayde's mother would sneak to come visit him... but when he turned ten years old the visits stopped. Anya, the woman who acted as his mother in this fake life, would never say but he could only assume that his father had finally hurt his mother.

They continued life in hiding for 21 years, running a modest store front of potions and magic supplies downtown Holly while they lived in a small apartment upstairs. Anya was old and not in the best health so Kayde did his best to handle everything for the both of them.

In general Kayde was a decent person, he did favors for anyone who asked and tried to remain positive whenever he was in the presence of others. It felt like he had to make up for his father even though no one knew who Kayde really was.​

Rylan was young when he first heard stories from the other vampires of the horror they faced, how many of them were killed every day and how terrible things were for their kind. For centuries they had lived in secret but humans got more and more advanced while the vampires stayed in ancient times. Soon they were near extinct. Rylan himself was 75 when his life changed, fairly young for a vampire. In order to preserve their kind and pure blood line, the vampires in his family were given sanctuary in Holly in exchange for their assistance guarding the night. Since the incident 21 years prior Rylan and the other vampires in his family had turned the dungeons of the castle into their new living quarters. When night fell they would roam the castle grounds to make sure nothing strange was going on. Rylan resented his life, why should his kind have to protect these people just to be given the same sanctuary all sorts of other creatures were given? It was bullshit!

Jaded. That was the best word to describe Rylan's entire personality. All of his life experiences had turned him into a judgmental sad sack of a vampire. ​
