Fantasy The Order of Seven - accepting

As time passed Kouki could feel the rampaging magic of the near released Nue tearing through his body looking for any means of escape. The spirit itself was held to him by a thread, and as the beast struggled more magic was released and Kouki took more damage. His kind heart was costing him, dearly. Electrical burns began appearing on the boy's hands and arms as his wards reached their limits. Kouki couldn't hold back his own cries of pain as he doubled over and was forced to his knees from the pain. Even as the pain was becoming too much to hear Kouki held steadfast to his belief. He had no right to release death against wraiths whose only sin was being forced back to the land of the living. Yet as time matches forward even Kouki could tell they were losing the battle. The wards were beginning to fail his comrades were either tiring out of running out of ammo. It was only a matter of time before those around him were slaughtered included the innocent children. When Kouki thought of the children he knew he couldn't let any harm come to them. His sin would be all the heavier with their blood on his hands. So Kouki finally relented and clapped his hands together finishing the prayer and giving his Nue, named Raikemon, strict instructions. " Protect this hallowed ground from encroaching evil! "
With the ritual complete and it's orders given Raikemon was free from Kouki.
With a roar that sounded of Thunder the beast leapt from Kouki's back and into the sky. It would let out a second and third roar and as it did the sky over the orphanage would fill with thunder clouds. Raikemon floated over the orphanage its body flickered as if made of lighting and any wraiths that too close to Kouki or the orphanage would feel the full brunt of its thunderous fury as lighting rained from the heavens.
Kouki had suffered severe third degree electrical burns over his arms and chest. The young man laid on the ground a crumpled heap screaming and in the most pain he had ever been in his life. The talisman that had keep Raikemon's magic contained burned away once the beast had been released. It was all Kouki could do to stay conscious and it was making his life a living hell as he was quickly going into shock from his wounds. Thankfully for those near him Kouki 's voice quickly gave out from the screaming.

The children scrambled to obey Prenkus' hurried orders. Those that hadn't followed Mina out (the older children were the one to do that) huddled within Alex's circle.
The group that had come to fight with the huntress began picking up snowballs as she had done, whispering their prayers into them and then pulling back and launching them whole-heartedly at their enemies.
At first it seemed like the snow had no effect, but rotting flesh suddenly began to smoke where they had been struck, the snow burning into their summoned bodies. When the snow hit the crystal the entire wraith collapsed. Some of the wraiths were drawn by the attack, and turned their horses to bear down upon Mina and the children, armed with only snow. One swung a blade straight for the oldest, who stumbled, and was about to be struck.

Iona's attention was on Kouki. The hunter was in agony and she had no idea how to help him. "Kouki!" She called, frantically searching through her runes to find one that might stabilize him. Finally he brought his hands together, thee power rumbling out, taking form as it was given orders, but the state it had left her friend in was a dire one.
"Kouki, hang on. I've got you." The rune for heal was not a strong one, but it repaired, even as she called on the freeze rune lightly to sooth his seared skin.
"What have you done?" She whispered slowly, frightened that he had wounded himself too gravely.

Thaddeus by now had several scratches from the poisoned blades. He had a pile of steaming wraith corpses about his feet and he was panting heavily. This wasn't working. They just kept coming.
He staggered back to the woman in white, now realizing that it was not a flesh woman at all, but a ghost.
Shrinking back to his human form he staggered over to her. "We need a better solution. We can't keep fighting all night. I saw a library, on the top floor. It belongs to the order yes? Is there anything there that might help us?"

It was not long before a foul, rotting scent filled his delicate nose and he physically recoiled. Wendigo. It was Kajika, the Native American hunter chosen specially to join their task force.
That would certainly help.
"Keep them at bay as best you can!"

With Mina's purified snowballs, the Nue and now Kajika's skill, they had a strong enough force to hold the wraiths off for a little while. Just then Morozko and Snow game racing back over the fields.
"The wraiths are being drawn to a center, here in the town. I would wager, if we find this center, we may find answers on how to stop them once and for all."
Morozko's voice was low and distant, like the winter wind. It was evident he was losing his strength, still his voice traveled throughout the area, so all could hear it.
"But how do we find the center?" Thaddeus asked, the poison as well as his exhaustion fogging his mind.
Beyond him some of the wraiths were running past the orphanage, towards the town, specifically, to an old stone structure standing stoically at the town's center.

“What the…” Mian looked back as saw the first snowball hitting a wraith. She was surprised that some young ones had followed her out. Seemingly, the squirming wave of devil approaching their home had forced them to come out and put their lives on the front line to defend their younger home mates. She concentrated on her stone throwing again since found it unreasonable to stop her backups from operation as the situation was too dire to hide. Unfortunately, the foe wasn’t as skull headed as it looked; the herds of wraith recognized snowball playing children as serious threat and headed directly toward them. “Oh come… I can deal with you better this way…” She growled as locked her clenches on a sleeping tree and plucked it out of the frozen ground. She used the heavy trunk to toss black riders away before their armed dead arms could reach her or her children. Suddenly, she heard a shriek; a kid had been cornered. Mina threw the whole tree at the assaulter having it crushed under the heavy trunk.

From the other side of the field painful screams of a young man alerted them. Mina had retrieved her tree and was so busy with slamming wraiths that couldn’t watch what was happening to poor Kouki. But when clouds in the sky became thicker and darker and signs of thunder appeared, she felt a greater danger approaching so decided to send kids away. “Retreat! Go back… go in… you’re going to get caught in… leave now…” She yelled out while trying her best to keep the devil away from orphans.

Morozko’s message ride on the wind and reached huntress’s ears. “I’d like to…” She hit a dead horse causing it drop its rider. “…get rid of the one who…” She crushed the fallen rider under feet. “…is making this filth. But how can we leave this orphanage alone? The sinner who is making trouble knows our ethics well… he or she is using children as bait to keep us busy here and unfortunately he has been successful.” She spoke bitterly, feeling as if her mind was frozen and couldn’t think of any solutions.

Vera Basillia
Mentions: MJ ._. MJ ._. SilverFlight SilverFlight
With a squeeze of her inner thigh she had forwarded her horse to canter on. A rather prominent horse back travel from London had made her cautious of sights around her. Mainly keeping to country roads and woodland areas she had kept herself out of sight and out of mind of others around her. She was merely dust collected by the wind traveling to its new destination. Yet the air had turned cold and the screams had filled the wind around her. Removing her feet from the stirrups of the saddle she hopped herself down and tied the reigns of her horse to a tree not far off from the lights of the town she could see.
Vera had reached her destination but could not see those she was looking for, instead she found Wraiths guiding their way not far down a path towards the town. Taking a run up she climbed herself into a tree just off the path. Waiting for them to reach close enough, her foot pushed off from the tree as the blade of her daggers reached her hand. With a swift drop she drove the tip of the sharpened blades to the tip of the gems that resided at the top of their skulls before using the leverage of her fall to drive them out. A sigh followed suit as she flipped her hair from her face, making her way towards the orphanage were lights were flickering and screams were heard.

Her vision soon laid on the continuous on coming of the creatures. Yet she could see some of her fellow comrades struggling to keep them at bay. Particularly she saw Thad and Mian and took her path towards them yet kept herself hidden in the darkened shadows. Climbing to the wall of the orphanage she then dropped herself down beside them. No words came from her as usual except for a bow of the head. She kept her daggers in hand from the combat that had happened a few minutes ago before she had reached them. Vera knew few of the people around her but recognised the pictures that had been shown to her.

Lady White had little trouble reaching Thaddeus, her non-existent weight hardly slowing her down in the snow. As she reached him, more strangers showed up. The ghost was not used to meeting so many new people from the Order so suddenly. Between those at the orphanage she had not had the chance to read about and these two, it seemed obvious she had missed a lot in the last three weeks. However, there were more pressing matters at hand. She kneeled and squinted at the dark and misty thread emanating from the crystal the wraith had dropped, and which she had followed towards Thaddeus. It went past him, naturally... though she would still not trust the werewolf. She raised her head to look at her pursuers, hot on her heels, and at those wraiths ignoring the orphanage and heading for the town. There was little indication she acknowledged Thaddeus´ presence other than her words.

"Whoever summoned the wraiths is using binding crystals and a magic circle. If we find the circle and break it, we´ll have the advantage. I have a trail to follow..."

Having stated her intentions, Lady White dematerialized. Her corporeal form became a sheet of snow and frost that came undone in the night and fell apart. The wraiths that charged in her direction did not stop, switching targets instead, the most convenient one being Thaddeus. The ghost simply glided past them as if they were not there, or perhaps as if she was not there herself. She followed the crystal´s dark trail in the air, eager to stop whoever or whatever was causing this unnatural event to take place.

The wraiths were felled by blade, claw and magic in scores and yet there seemed to be no end to them; the orphanage stood like a boulder in the tide as more and more riders passed by into the town. Even doing his part was taxing Alex as his head swam and nausea threatened to overtake him. Nearly doubling over with the latest banishing chant, drew a few gasps and whimpers from the children huddled near him. Gritting his teeth the brunette straightened once more only to witness a barrage of lobbed snowballs take down another rider. They were holding on!

Then Kouki finished his prayer, the magic released was unlike anything Alex had seen so far. Bolts of energy sang from above to strike down ebon rider with frightening precision, but the young mans body looked as if he'd been struck by his own spell. Without understanding of the strange magic there was little he could do but stand watch and hope Ionia had more to offer.

Then a familiar yet distant voice seemed to fill the room, "The wraiths are being drawn to a center, here in the town. I would wager, if we find this center, we may find answers on how to stop them once and for all." It took a moment for Alexander to respond, though he addressed those near him and not the speaker. “We need to act before his spell is exhausted! Ionia how many to hold the upper floors?” While Alex loathed the idea of leaving both the children and his comrades behind he trusted in Prenkus preparations. They needed to make their move while they still could! Even the veteran hunters ingenious traps and the inhuman endurance of a Wendigo and Werewolf would eventually succumb to an unending stream of wraiths.

Kouki grunted in pain as Iona worked to remedy the burns caused by his hesitant nature. The feeling of his flesh being forcibly healed and cooled caused a new dull kind of pain, but he would gladly take it over the radiating pain that still tortured him in untreated areas. Kouki could tell that this healing was no where at the level of needed to be to keep him in the field. It was a miracle that he was even conscious let alone able to perceive the message carried on the wind. Kouki didn't dare move around for fear of undoing what little healing had been done, but he tried to project his voice outward so that Iona could hear him. His voice was raspy and gruff from his pained screams, but audible to those close enough. " Go... Leave me .... Finish this... Raikemon... Protect... Need awake. "What the young man needed now was a medical evacuation, but the Nue had to stay close to his contractor. Too far away and their connection severs, and what little help the Nue offered his contractor would be severed. Kouki grunted in frustration that he in such a state. Raikemon would protect him and the orphanage for as long as the young man was conscious. So at least in his mind it made more sense to leave him and the Nue, arguably the thing with the most offensive power, to defend the children for as long as possible.
" I'll.. Call back up.. Go". Most of all Kouki was ashamed that he had allowed himself to become so useless to the others. If he had just acted more quickly then he wouldn't be in such a state.

Iona could plainly see her companions beginning to flag. She stayed by Kouki, despite his protestations, cradling his head in her lap. "Just hold on a little longer Kouki. I'm not leaving. Stay with me."
She looked at Alex with a set expression. "Follow the ghost. I'll hold things down here. Find a way to stop the wraiths."
Iona drew up her sleeves, the rune tattoos inked on her arms shimmered. Carefully she placed her hands on the crooked floorboards. A faint whispering began to build around her, the veins in the old wood traced themselves in a faint, shimmering light. The light stretched outwards and became thin tendrils that coiled into the air like smoke. It was Iona's last resort.
The smokey wisps began to circle the house, as if caught up in a whirlwind. One unlucky wraith tried to take a window and the smoke caught him up, boring into his skull and forcing the dark crystal out. The Nue was powerful and kept most of them at bay, but any that slipped by it were destroyed with complete indifference by Iona's spell.
"I can...keep this going for a little while...you have...about fifteen minutes...good luck, all of you."

Thaddeus recognized the spell, realizing things must be becoming dire. he turned to follow the lady in white, the ghost that guarded the orphanage, and by extension the Order's library in this town.
"I've never known any mortal capable of summoning such power alone. We should be wary. If we run into the casters we'll likely be in for a hard fight."
As he made to follow he caught sight of another hunter and recognized her from her files back at London HQ.
"Vera!" He called, "Vera Basillia! Thaddeus Grey, I'm glad you're here. As you can see things are almost out of hand here. We might have found the source of these foul wraiths but we'll need a few hands to deal with it. Will you come with us?"
He motioned for Vera to follow the lady as he was, slowly making their way to the center of the village and to the old stone building in the square.

The building, now that Thaddeus was looking at it had an ominous feeling about it. Where the wraiths reached it they pulled their skeletal horses up and bellowed at the walls, as if angry about being dragged back through hellsgate. Anything that came near them they would attack mercilessly, which meant, having a building wall of them surrounding the building would make entering difficult.
"Don't let their blades touch you." Thaddeus warned Vera, "They're deadly to untainted."
His own wounds ached and smoked worryingly, though not growing, they would have been healing already had they been made by a normal blade.

Vera stood for a moment to take in all of her surroundings, she hadn't quite had the chance being thrown into the fray so quickly and suddenly. Even yet her eyes flowed round back to Thaddeus, she could see he was wounded and wondered how severe his wounds really were. It wasn't something hadn't seen before but it was still a shock to think she was in the middle of something dire again. When he began to speak her head tilted as he greeted her. After his motion to follow the lady that was just here, her brows perked. A ghost? Her mind was questioning itself, so many new people but could they all be trusting. Of course, they must be. As they began to move Veras eyes widened slightly looking at the amount there were, it would seem almost impossible, yet Vera was confident in herself.

Yet as the Lady White had floated by the current wraiths that were onto her body form had switched to Thaddeus. Bringing it on herself to protect him in his current states he quickly dispatched them with a few scratched to her armor, thankfully nothing piercing at this point, however, it was disappointing that her armor had already been ruined but a few moments getting there. Continue to walk on she was slightly peacefully, that was until Thaddeus brought up the subject of their blades were brought up. Even so, deadly to untainted? Wasn't every blade. Even though her mindset was probably, not the best it was the way Vera was thinking at this particular moment.

The skeletal horses looked almost beautiful to Vera, life and death had met itself in the middle and for some reason, she was fascinated. Yet the clawing and blowing at the wall gave the whole thing so much sadness, but of course, this was not the time to become sentimental. Gazing down towards Thaddeus, Vera noticed his wounds were still fresh or fresh enough to hurt at least. Dropping her daggers to the floor, she began to sign. You are too injured, stay here or life could be taken aswell. I can draw them out, if others can finish the job. Although she was fast, so would be the wraiths especially on horses. After a short moment, she shrugged.

Bolts of lightning scattered the wrights like ants being stumped on. This gave Mina enough time to check on children who had come out to defend their home and her comrades. To make sure all of kids were safe, she entered the building and found Kouki badly injured and Iona trying to heal him. She joined them for a short time to find out what had happened to the boy and what their next step was supposed to be. It sounded rational to leave Kouki and Iona to defend the orphanage in order to burn the root of evil. Mina wished the defenders good luck and prayed for their safety before leaving the house to join the proceeding party. Iona had given them 15 precious minute that they didn’t afford wasting.
Once rejoicing with rest of hunters, Mina noticed new faces; a woman and something that probably was called a Wendigo. There was no time for introductions so she only said hello and gave her attention to the path they were walking and probable invasions from wraiths.
At the end of their way, they arrived at a stone building. Several ghostly dark creatures were lurking around it madly which had made it too dangerous to get close to it. “With a spear and a rope we can go above the wall instead of entering through the main gate. I think these dead folk can’t fly. After reaching top of the wall we might be at the roof or enter a yard…” She suggested.

Oliver Becket

Where the bloody hell were these things going?!

The realization that the wraith's had essentially ignored the orphanage and went into the town came a bit slower to Oliver than he would admit. He had figured the one who had gotten past his axe had just gone for someone else. Then a second one had passed. Then a third. Fou- Oh no, he was..yes, he was dead. Whatever death was to these things. Perhaps Oliver had just been enjoying cutting the ones who couldn't gotten past him. But even for how fun this had been, it was getting horribly tiring. Just how many of these things were there? He'd ran out of ammo ages ago, and there was little time for him to reload. His coat had a few tears here and there, looking not dissimilar to his cloak.

A light crunch came from under his feet as he changed his footing. Ensuring the coast was clear, he slowly rose his foot to see what he'd managed to step on. His glasses. The frames bent beyond recognition against his heel, and the black tinted glass shattered. He must not have noticed them falling off during all the commotion. "Wonderful." He mumbled to himself, looking up just in time to see another wraith making their approach. "Sod it."

Oliver leapt up into the air and swung his axe towards the house, the head embedding itself into the brick with a satisfying crack. Another swing, another sound of his axe landing higher up the wall. He gripped the wooden handle of the axe, his boots pressed firm against the wall of the house as the wraith rode past, acting as if Oliver hadn't been there at all. Now they were ignoring him, like some sort of cruel joke. Now he was hanging against a wall like some sort of tosser. He was close by one of the windows on the second floor however. One that had yet to be boarded up by Prenkus, or whoever he had asked to board them up. A swift kick caused the glass to shatter and fly out into the room, his foot resting against the window sill to give him balance as in slid his way inside. Looks like he had wound up inside a bedroom of sorts. The sudden of crackling lightning was an unexpected one, loud enough to cause Oliver to drop his axe and clasp his hands over his ears. "Bloody hell!" The screams of pain from a separate part of the orphanage was only another layer of loud noises that displeased the vampire.

Oliver grabbed hold of his axe, giving the door a swift kick to knock it open as he stepped out from the messy room. The screams had died down, but hadn't been completely snuffed out. Whoever had been injured was injured badly. He walked down the stairs slowly, not wanting to step on any traps that Prenkus would have certainly set. The man enjoyed his surprises. Following the sounds pained whimpering, he found Iona and Alex, an injured man(Looks like he'd missed the mans introduction) being treated by Iona before telling Alex to follow that damned ghost. Oliver assumed she would tell him to do the same thing. Oliver's tattered and dirty clothing, alongside his now filthy axe painted quite the picture of the vampire. He looked around the small room, listening as Prenkus seemed to be moving things around the house. "You want me to go with them? Or stay here, Grey? It's not like I can't run fast." He wasn't waiting to orders from the woman. Just suggestions. "Then again. It seems Prenkus has been a bit..busy. I doubt you'll need me."

Layla Caldwell
"Damn this cold." Shoulders hunched against the cold of the snow, she spurred the beast onward and clutched her furs more tightly around her body. Previously unsure of her destination, the sudden appearance of a thunderstorm in the distance was now serving as a fairly likely destination. Layla had been dispatched days before, given a few names of her would-be comrades, a general area, and told to expect the worst. As she came closer, it became apparent that she'd gravely underestimated the warning.

Her keen eyes cut through the dark, giving a much clearer picture than most others would have from this distance, though even she couldn't see the end of the wraiths. The footsteps of the creature beneath her grew gradually more unsteady, and Layla was able to recognize her steed was nearing the end of its endurance. Quickly unwrapping the furs from herself, she draped them over the back of the horse, and gave a sharp whistle, signalling the creature to stop. At the same time, she flung herself off the creature, gave a quick low whistle, signalling it to remain close, but try to find shelter, and began shifting.

By now the transformation was nearly painless. While a few joints were slow to shift, numbed by the cold and long period of inactivity, she was transformed fully before she hit the ground, her legs keeping up the momentum she'd carried from her steed before her. Layla sprinted toward the battle, allowing herself a bitter smile. Showing up in the thick of the battle like this, her allies undoubtedly beginning to tire already, Layla would surely be a welcome sight. What better way to make a good impression, than as a hero? The great cat grinned a toothy grin, as she met the first of the riders.

Claws tore tendons as she ripped into the rider's flesh, though her hopes were dashed at the lack of the torrent of blood she'd been expecting. The creatures certainly weren't among the living, it seemed. Of course not. That would've been too easy. A quick improvisation nearly completely severed the rider's upper half from lower, the weight of its upper body dismounting the specter. While the corpse continued forward with the same determination, it wasn't likely to reach the group in such a condition until the attack had been stopped, or Layla and her companions killed. The thought was a grim one.

Rider and steed alike seemed indifferent to her presence as a flurry of hoof and snow spun around her, the riders clearly set on their destination. Layla yowled in the frustration of being ignored, downing a few more riders, but re-purposing her attack pattern to direct her toward her would-be comrades. The large stone building drew ever-closer as she sped her way through the throng of riders, razor-sharp claws flashing as she worked to cripple the creatures, severing muscles and tendons. Slashing attacks wouldn't do much against the undead, she knew, and working to delay their arrival was a more effective strategy than trying to find some way to kill them completely. As she worked closer, the wraiths seemed to realize her destination and began slashing and kicking in her direction. Layla's confident stride and deft movements easily avoided most of the blows, save a few nicks here and there, and one deeper cut just behind her ear.

Finally arriving at her destination, Layla used her powerful legs to spring over the top of the wraiths nearest the group she was headed for, knocking their steeds off-balance, and resulting in the creatures landing in a heap behind her. A quick glance was able to pick out Thaddeus' distinct appearance from the few around her, but no other names came to mind immediately.

Shifting back was just as seamless as the first transformation had been, complete before she hit the ground near the group. Though the gravity of the situation wasn't lost on her, she couldn't help but offer a short bow, a crooked grin, and a proper introduction. "Thaddeus Grey and company, I presume? Layla Caldwell, Werecat Extraordinaire, at your service."

Hmm. That one had definitely sounded better in her head.

Kouki gave Iona a resigned grunt. "Always were too stubborn for your own good." The Omnyouji looked around as a few others gathered around them awaiting the orders that Iona soon gave. Between the two of them the orphanage would be safe. Now it was just how long they could hold out. It was nothing short of a miracle that Kouki was even alive let alone conscious. No doubt it was a combination of the Nue protecting its master from its power and of course Iona's treatment. Kouki could tell that he was stabilizing, but that was about the best they could hope for given their situation. He was going to need heavy duty treatment of magic to get himself back to even close to normal. Kouki could feel a wave of exhaustion roll over him as he pushed himself to stay away. Despite everything that happened he was still reigning in the Nue. Raikemon wanted nothing more than to strike down the source of this calamity, but to do so would require Kouki's presence. If he strayed too far from his master then he would be pulled back and sealed up. This frustration only caused the Nue to pull on more power. The thunderstorm expanded and the lighting fell quicker as the Nue began pouncing on and destroying the wraiths personally.
Kouki let out a gasp for air as he felt as though he had been punched in the gut. There was no mistake in what was happening, the Nue was taking more power than he could handle. " Please hurry... I don't think I can last another.... 5... Maybe 10 minutes. " despite his situation the burns had healed nicely. More than a fourth of the damage had already turned to scar tissue.

Thaddeus read the signs quickly, thank goodness he had taken the trouble to learn the language.
"There is not way I am leaving you to face whatever is down there without me." He said firmly. The scratched burned, but at the very least he could shield the others from the blades.
Thaddeus quite liked Mina's idea about going over. The roof was tiled with wood panels that could probably be broken with a few good kicks.
"Try it then, I'll attempt to divert the wraiths so you can get close enough. Take Vera onto the roof and get into that building. I'll follow when I can."
Just then a rider came up to them, distinctly not draped in tattered black rags, and with a face that was very much alive, another hunter.
She introduced herself and Thaddeus found himself grinning.
"With two werebeasts we'll definitely draw them back. Mind their blades, they sting."
With that Thaddeus crouched and transformed. His hulking lupine form four-footed and big as a horse. The wolf dipped his head and lead the way into the crowd of spitting wraiths.

Iona took a moment to notice Oliver as he stood over her and the pain-wracked form of Kouki.
"Go." she said. "The sooner we stop this madness the sooner we can get Kouki properly treated."
Kouki muttered something and, caught off-guard Iona grinned. "No more stubborn than you are. Summoning the Nue? Honestly."
Suddenly Kouki's face contorted in pain, the summon drawing more power from his already weakened body.
"For heaven's sake dispel it!" Iona shouted, worry showing clear in her eyes.

The wraiths fell under heavy paws and flashing teeth. It certainly got their attention. Most of the wraiths turned to try and deal with the giant wolf ripping into their ranks. One bare stone wall was left almost without the grizzly riders guarding it.

The building, once entered would contain nothing but an old hearth and a trap door, from which an eerie purple light was emanating.
The cellar had been a good place to hide the circle, and the mage who had created it. The catch was the he had to stay inside it, lest the wraiths find their way in. If he so much as stepped a toe outside the carefully drawn lines they would gleefully rip him apart, but it was almost finished now. He almost had all that he needed. His flowing robes billowed about him, a solitary dagger his only defense in case things went wrong. Almost done...so close...

((Feel free to jump into that building and meet this guy, I'll be controlling him so no autohitting if you please :3))

“I’m going to do it… but it won’t be as simple as you think.” Mina replied Thad seriously. “It’s going to take me some time to find a rope long enough for our purpose in the town and I doubt if you can keep these devils at bay alone for long. You are already wounded and I can’t let you go for a suicide…” She was about to argue with him about his safety when heard voices approaching from behind, so turned and stayed on guard until it became clear that another tainted of the order had joined them which was a blessing at that grave time. “You’ve arrived just in time, thanks. Please be careful and don’t let this guy get himself killed.” She told Layla before running away from the wraiths to look for a rope.
When Mina returned, the pair of were-beasts had cleared one of walls for them to climb. Fortunately, she had met the ironsmith of the town hiding in his shop and he had equipped her with spear, rope and a few daggers and knives. Quickly, she tied and knotted the rope around the spear, which looked more like a fishing spear than a battle one, and then took a few steps back ward. She burst to run and throw the spear with all her might then watched it flying high and piercing through wooden panels of the roof. She pulled the rope to make sure that it was safe to climb. Mina held tightly on the rope and put one of her feet on the wall. “Please climb when I’m done.” She told Vera then started walking up the wall using the rope.
Once settled on the wall, Mina looked down and signed Vera to climb up just like her. She pushed her leg on the panels of the roof to find the weakest point and then began kicking that spot down to make a hole large enough to let her pass through. At first, she cautiously looked down and found the building almost empty. The purple light that escaped through the gaps around a trapdoor embedded in the floor told her that they had approached the right path. She looked back and waited for her companion to reach the top then pulled the rope up and let it inside the building through the hole in the roof and then used it to climb down to the dusty floor of the empty enclosed space. On tiptoes, she approached the trap door and pulled it up carefully to peek into the basement. She could see a man performing some ritual on a drawn circle. Mina wasn’t expert in magic but could tell the source of trouble and read the excitement in caster’s face that revealed his success. She knew that she had to stop him so, without hesitation, pulled one of daggers from her belt and threw it toward the culprit.

Vera kept silent for time after her suggestion and with Thaddeus reply. She gazed over when Layla appeared and her eyebrow rose. She wasn't to found of people who look highly of themselves and the statement of being an extraordinaire didn't help her case in Veras eyes. Yet it was hard to be a fond of by Vera, even so it was a good thing that she was here, it would at least give them a chance in getting towards their goal, the end goal. The suggestion of using a rope and spear sounded good when it met Veras ears, this was the sort of thing she was made for, front on front action was more down to people with strength and although Vera had some, she didn't have enough to do as the others could. Looking to Thad she bowed slightly with the tip of chin and looked to Mina when she returned with the rope and spear. Rocking her head from side to side, small cracks came from her neck as the air moved out from in between her joints.

Moving with Mina she watched as the spear was thrown to a direct hit, she let out a small chuff of air thinking to herself. As Mina spoke, Vera gazed over through her goggles before signing out. Ofcourse. Crouching down as she watched Mina cross the rope, her eyes were directed over to the two were beast taking down the wraiths, it was a strange feeling seeing others in combat, she was so used to doing things on her own, Vera wasn't sure whether it was a good or a bad squirm of new emotions in the pit of her stomach. Yet now wasn't the time to be soft, seeing the sign for her to cross, Vera began to place one foot in front of the other as she grabbed hold of the rope and began to climb just as the person before her had. When the hole was bashed through. Vera joined Mina as she stared at the purple glow from the floor. It was so intriguing but that soon vanished as Mina opened the door.

Looking down with her, Vera was surprised when she threw the dagger straight away. Her brows furrowed as she slipped past Mina into the basement with light steps, her feet were light as a feather as she crept round in the shadows of the room, waiting to see how the magic user would react to the sudden attack from a stranger peering down into his private chamber.

Kouki could only give a strained smile on his defense as Iona pleaded with him to dispel the Nue. "If I did that... The children could be hurt. I would much rather suffer this pain a thousand times over than risk the life of a child." Kouki 's skin was beginning to lose its color as his vitality was being burned away as fuel for his spell.
As the others moved to attack the source the Nue worked in tandem with Iona's spell to keep the orphanage safe. Raikemon could tell the fire situation that plagued his master and as it fought for the orphanage 's defense it would do the only thing it could think off to try and get the attention of the order: attack the HQ. Long range attacks were by no means effective for the Nue, nor was its aim to do any damage, but a total of two lighting blasts were aimed at the HQ. Whether they even reached their target Raikemon didn't know, but suddenly it wouldn't matter as the Nue was forced back into its seal.
Kouki had finally relented and clapped his hands together ordering the Nue to retreat and focus on healing him. Kouki looked up to Iona trying his best to put on a vibrant smile said, " Suffering is best left to the adults eh.... I'm for to... Take a nap". Was all he could manage to say before dozing off due to overexertion.
