Name: Jerry Lane

Age: 18

Gender: Male

Blood Status: Muggle-born

Wand:

Appearance:

(Please include such details as height, build, race, and any defining characteristics. Must submit a written account of what your character looks like. A picture may be provided as a supplement.)

Personality:

As a child, he had always wanted to do nice things for people anytime, any day. He will go to any lengths to help or save his friends and family. This hurt himself more than he did others, and allowed him to have a hard shell of an exterior, but a weak center. He constantly doubts himself, and sometimes has fits of sadness or rage, which he tries to hide until he is alone.

He has a tendency of also needing to feel loved or belong to something, due to all his research making him contemplate his own existence and self-worth.

History:

(Please include a family background as well as an educational history.)

Specials and Skills:

With his inquisitive mind, he has a knack for understanding (not mastering) all things.

Name: Dahlia "Poppy" Moody

Age: 24

Gender: Female

Birthday: December 13

Sign: Sagittarius

Nationality: Scottish

Blood Status: Half-blood

Wand: Bloodwood. Eleven inches long. Kraken heartstring. Inflexible.

Patronus: Tiger

Appearance: Standing at a striking 6'0", Poppy is a particularly intimidating lady, with a lithe and slim build with a slight but not terribly prominent pear shape. Her skin is fair, if a bit tanned from extensive traveling. Her hair reaches her mid-back, falling in loose curls, and is dyed a vibrant red, though black roots very obviously show. Her eyes are a striking violet colour, and it doesn't take a genius to work out she wears contacts. With a constant accentuation of bright red lipstick and eyeliner, it certainly makes her features pop and does well to hide the true sallowness of her skin that's carefully concealed by layers of product. If one were to pay close attention to her, they would notice the extensive length of her neatly manicured nails, as well as the raggedness of her form that tends to go unnoticed due to a combination of large coats and distracting scarves. If anyone did take notice of these minute little facts, it wouldn't be hard to realize that Poppy is, in fact, a werewolf. She has a beauty mark just above the left side of her lips, and has a birthmark in the shape of a poppy flower between her shoulder blades, hence her name. There are various scars scattered across her bodies, some self-inflicted from when she transforms, and others from her many battles as an Auror.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/Poppy.jpg.146948ffa5848ec76850a0b30f28da58.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="66987" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_08/Poppy.jpg.146948ffa5848ec76850a0b30f28da58.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Personality: Typically, Poppy comes off as a somewhat carefree person with what could be considered a casual elegance about her. She is far from proper and finds extensive manners a bit too tasteless for appeal, though she does give "please"s and "thank you"s like any right person should. One could consider her to be kind, but her kindness reaches only to a short extent, and is typically seasoned with bits of sarcasm and the occasional bark of dark humor. She has no problem with making friends, but gaining her trust is an entirely different story, and it's a long, hard climb before anyone can earn it and keep it. If someone happens to be in need, Poppy will jump in to save them, but she will not make too much of an effort unless said person in distress happens to be someone she cares about. She will jump into a battle if necessary, but won't hesitate to opt out if things become heated and overwhelming, though this could be subject to change if someone was willing to give her incentive to try harder.

Coming to terms with her race, Poppy isn't terribly loathsome of what she is, but she doesn't speak highly of it either and tends to be rather neutral to her own situation unless the full moon is near, in which case she's a bit more temperamental than usual and relatively bad-natured due to being in a constant state of unease and pain. Despite her amicable nature, Poppy does in fact have a tendency to lash out at those that speak ill of her, simply because she has a bit of an ego and prides herself specifically in her health, self-preservation, and current standing in the eye of the wizarding world. She dabbles quite a bit in pranks and has a good sense of humor when it comes to such as light mocking, so long as it's meant jokingly, and she will not hesitate to retaliate with a sharp comeback if someone takes a stab at her. She's also quick to draw her wand if her temper is provoked enough, but it's simply an old, nasty habit, and she tends to put it away quickly unless she's angry enough to actually start a fight.

History: She was bitten and turned into a werewolf when she was five, after her father purposefully provoked a pureblood werewolf. Having been deeply involved with the Dark Arts, her father, Theo Moody, was an attention-starved wizard looking for some appraisal, and he thought that if he could tame his beastly daughter, then he would be accepted into a Dark Arts coven and work his way up to becoming a famous Dark Wizard. Having originated from one of the oldest pureblood families in Scotland, he was very proud of himself, marrying a Muggle, Marianne Delacroix, simply because she was keen on blindly following and supporting him in his wrongful deeds, with little interest in the realities and morals of the wizarding world. After years of "training", which consisted of keeping Poppy locked away in a heavily-charmed room during the full moon to see how well she could contain her animalistic form, there was little improvement in her ability to control herself. Frustrated, Theo threw his ten year-old daughter head-first into the Dark Arts in hopes of being able to get some use out of her by delving her in Unforgivable Curses and many illegal spells. When she was eleven, she attended Beauxbatons up until her fifth year, where she was pulled out and hastily intiated into a coven of Dark Wizards.

However, Poppy had no interest in being a dark wizard and preferred a much lighter life. She remained in the coven up until she became of legal age, where she relinquished her father's legal hold on her and turned the entire coven in to the Ministry of Magic by tipping them off to the coven's whereabouts and what they were up to. A fight ensued, in which Poppy was revealed to be a traitor, and, in self-defense, she killed one of the members. The rest, including her father, were put away in Azkaban. Her father perished a year later in the prison at the hands of a dementor.

Poppy then promptly turned head and begged the Ministry for mercy. With quite a bit of arguing, bargaining, and pleading, Poppy was begrudgingly transferred to Hogwarts under very close eye of the headmaster and a few Aurors that were stationed in Hogsmeade. She finished school and just barely scraped by with the credentials to become an Auror. She chose this path as a way to redeem herself, and so she could put people like her father away hopefully for good. She cut her mother out of the picture as soon as she became of legal age, and currently hasn't spoken to her for six years.

Specials and Skills: A werewolf, of course, as well as an experienced Auror. However, she specializes in "trickster magic" (i.e. the kind of magic that the Weasley twins would be proud of, which typically consists of hexes and jinxes with odd and usually incapacitating results), and in the Dark Arts, naturally. Dueling is one of her strong suits, and she has incredibly quick reflexes and a fantastic sense of smell.

Name: Rowan “Rory” Harper

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Nationality: American

Birthday: November 2nd

Sign: Scorpio

Blood Status: Half-blood

Wand: An inflexible ash wand with unicorn hair core. It is exactly nine inches in length.

Patronus: Lionfish

School Pride: Ironwood Academy for Troubled Young Wizards

Words to live by: “Do no harm but take no shit.”

Appearance
: Rory is hardly what one would call ‘remarkable’, or even ‘memorable’ really. He stands seven inches above five feet and while handsome in his own way, is hardly the type people fight and swoon over. This suits him just fine really, as work as an Auror requires a certain amount of anonymity and he finds most romantic advances to be uncomfortable at best. In terms of his build, his body is athletic if slim, marking him as more of a cardio fiend than a gymrat. He most often choses to drape his frame in fitted garments typically made in dark washes of cotton and denim, favoring jeans with a simple tee or sweater. Though his skin is marred by a variety of scar’s, his complexion is clear and fair with little coloration from the sun, betraying him as a night owl. The light tone of his skin contrasts nicely with his dark chestnut hair, kept relatively short to a manageable length that he does nothing with beyond the occasional combing with his fingers. Easily, his most striking feature would be his eyes, almond set spheres of dark amber that shine like pools of warm honey in the right lighting.

History: Born to Erasmus and Amelia Harper, Rory grew up in a wizard community nestled in Salem, Massachusetts. While his mother was muggle born, his father was a notable Seer with a number of publications under his belt, though, in truth had no true prophecies to claim as his own. Rory’s childhood was average, average for a young wizard at any rate, and for a time he grew up happy and healthy. In terms of education, Rory attended a muggle school for much of his young life, being homeschooled in magic by his father and a few educated members of the community. Things progressed smoothly up until Rory was twelve, when his mother was seized by a powerful illness that left her bedridden and forced her loved ones to watch her waste away.

His mother’s death changed Rory, he grew withdrawn and angry, bitter at the world that with all the magic at their disposal, there was nothing that could have been done for his mother. So, Rory began to skip school and started to run with entirely the wrong crowd, getting into fights, stealing and a healthy dose of vandalism. His father largely ignored the issue, thinking Rory was simply going through a phase or that he would burn out on his destructive impulses and made excuses for his son’s actions. Inevitably, things got out of hand and Rory found himself brought up on charges of breaking the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery for the sixth time. Worse yet, he had performed magic in front of a muggle and as such, things were looking grim.

Luckily for Rory, he was not the first young wizard with anger management problems, not by far. The solution it turned out, was a place called The Ironwood Academy for Troubled Young Wizards. This school lay hidden somewhere in Montana and focused on reforming young sorcerers who had gotten a taste for misuse of magic before they turned into Dark Wizards. While situated in a very picturesque setting, Ironwood was as strict as it name would imply. Time between classes was strictly managed, community service was a requisite for graduation, and any major violation of the rules was met with expulsion and the destruction of your wand. All and all, it was a miserable place to be for a fourteen year old but as it turned out, it was the best place for Rory. The structure and strictness of the staff helped snap him out of his more criminal activities and while he still got into the occasional fight with people, it was usually in defense of another.

Somewhere along the way, Rory got it into his head to become an Auror and spent his time in Ironwood wisely. He studied long and hard, spending his free time training and taking on additional community service to try to wipe the black marks off his record. The extra time studying seemed to pay off as he received high marks in most of his studies and graduated Ironwood as one of their best students. Shortly after graduation, Rory got a desk job at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and has been slowly climbing his way to the top ever since.

Personality: Rory has mellowed out considerably since entering Ironwood. He picked up quite a few techniques for calming his spurts of rage and learned that fighting the forces of evil is an amazing outlet for anger. Still, for all the good Ironwood did for him, it wasn’t the most social environment. Rory still has trouble trusting and relating to people and tends to keep them at arms length with a sharp tongue and a mocking sense of humor. Most people tend to find his wit funny when it’s not aimed at them and so he barely scrapes by not being the social outcast of the office.

Despite his violent tendencies in his past, Rory rather dislikes hurting people, even when they have it coming. As such, he’s always had the disadvantage in duels and tries to avoid them as much as possible, opting to try to talk things through or trap his foe before it comes down to a one on one.

Skillset: Rory’s first love and primary focus in school was Charms, though he did score well on Defense Against the Dark Arts, Magical Theory, and Apparition.

Equipment:

Hip bag - Rory nearly always wears a hip satchel that loops onto his belt and is secured with a leather strap at the base around his upper thigh. The bag is made of dark brown leather and is worn from daily use. The bag has an undetectable extension charm placed on it, allowing Rory to carry his supplies unencumbered. Examples of the contents of this bag include:

A Cirrus 680, a relatively outdated model of broomstick but it handles well.

Floo Powder

A few sets of clothes

A few books

Candles

Matches

Hand mirror

Notebooks

Pens

Tent

Playing cards

Wallet

Stuffed bear

Chocolate

Keys to who know's what.

Spare change he will never be able to find again.

Etc...

Other: While Rory's father is a Seer, Rory has no love for divination himself and has never predicted so much as the weather.

Rory and his father don't get along very well, they rarely get together and mostly only speak on holidays and birthdays.

While Ironwood did a world of good for Rory, not all of the students found their way to the straight and narrow. Several of the Dark Wizards he's put away have been old classmates and don't view him very kindly.

The extension charm on his bag isn't entirely legal and falls under the grey area of the law known as "my supervisor doesn't ask about it, I don't talk about it," that so many Aurors follow.

Tia Stewart

  • Tia has auburn hair, which is cut short so it is just below her shoulders. It is usually down, since isn't long enough to do anything exciting to. However, when she is deep in thought she tends to tie it back in a simple ponytail. If she feels like doing something to her hair, she will usually just straighten it with the amazing muggle technology (straighteners) and place a rose red headband on top of her head.

Her eyes are emerald green, with small bits of brown around her pupil. Her pupils enlarge slightly when she has an idea, and goes smaller when she is around strangers. Some people think this is strange, but she had gotten used to it. Her eyes are actually quite big - think anime, but a few sizes smaller.

Her skin is pale, almost white, and her upper cheek and nose are dotted with freckles. Unlike her eyes, her nose is quite small, and points down slightly - this is what muggles would call a 'button nose'. Does she like it this way? Sort of... She does get kinda annoyed when her Dad's friends come up to her, bend down, and say she's so cute like they're talking to a baby. Moving on... Her lips are quite thin, and usually are blood red, thanks to lipstick.

She is actually quite small for her age, with a height of 4"8'. To be honest, she doesn't mind being small. Sure, she may be in the height limit for a dwarf, but she isn't one. She just got her growth spurt abit late... She is neither thin nor fat, but somewhere in between. Let's just say average, and maybe slightly chubby. Despite hardly ever going out to do sports, she manages to keep this build by eating a healthy diet. Also, since she is an Auror, there is alot of running around the country she has to do.

As for clothing, she will usually wear a tank top (the colour/pattern depends on the day), black leggings and a black cardigan. On her feet, she will pure white socks (much lighter than her skin), which are covered by brown snow boots. She had never really been the type of girl who cares about the way she looks.

Appearance: Standing at 5'7, Saga is above average height for a woman though not such a striking height as to seem intimidating. Her features are pale and give off a rather icy aura, especially her long flowing fair hair which at times seems translucent. Her eyes are a pale blue that almost seems crystalline and her mouth is rarely ever in a position for smiling when amongst strangers. Having been an avid player of handball in her home country, she has a slender and athletic build. Due to being part veela, Saga is unusually beautiful though chooses to downplay this.

Saga loves the idea of being neutral and that includes her sense of fashion. She can usually be found in her long beige trench coat, with generally nondescript but figure flattering clothing and as many hidden pockets as can be for all her general odds and ends. Saga has a liking for simple silver jewellery and her favourite is a necklace with two wavy lines signifying the lake of her hometown.

Personality: Upon first meeting, Saga can be seen at best as aloof, at worst as plain rude. The former would be a truer interpretation of her general demeanour. Though reserved and not the most talkative person, Saga is actually a warm and welcome presence once she is accustomed to and likes a person, though at times she can be quick to anger.

She is generally a non-judgemental and non-confrontational individual, believing that one has the right to do as they wish so long as it doesn't harm others, and in general does not base her opinions and decisions on personal biases. With regards to romance, Saga is slow to woo and would not normally be the initiator since her main priority is her job.

As a witch, Saga prides herself on her grasp of transfiguration magic, a trait she probably inherited from her mother and the fact that she is a metamorphmagus. Her love of logic also made her skilled in Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. Though her social life tended to and still does, suffer because of her work ethic.

History: Saga was born to an ex-auror and half-veela named Artemis Lockheed and a muggleborn tailor and ex-Hogwarts professor named Anders Lindqvist. The couple had met whilst both were working at the school as teachers in Transfiguration and Herbology respectively.

Once married they moved to Anders' mother country of Sweden (mostly because 'half-breeds' like Artemis were more accepted there) and soon after, Saga was born. The family lived in a predominantly muggle community in Uppsala and with the general liberalism of the country and her parent's egalitarian views about muggles, Saga grew up with an innate respect for and fascination with muggle-kind.

Saga's home life was happy at first until around the age of twelve when her parents divorced and her time was split between them. Saga and her mother clashed drastically when together, as Saga deemed her mother to be flighty and at times irresponsible. She had always been more like her father, rational, level-headed and calm. She blamed herself for the separation and was glad when she received her letter for Hogwarts because it was a welcome distraction.

During her time at school, she was an exemplary student and although not particularly social, she was well liked amongst the Slytherin students who seemed to understand her solitary nature more than the other houses who would call her stuck up.

Saga achieved outstandings in all N.E.W.T subjects with the exception of Defence Against the Dark Arts in which she achieved Exceeds Expectations

.

After her schooling ended she won the prestigious job of a Gringotts curse breaker which she greatly enjoyed. Even the goblins respected her to an extent. Despite having a successful career, she still had little social life and kept others at arms length even when on friendly terms.

Specials and Skills: Saga is a natural metamorphmagus, well versed in magical law because of her mother's family history in magical law enforcement, and passed the stealth and tracking section of auror training with flying colours. Her knowledge of ancient runes and curse breaking come in handy too. As well as this she is bilingual (English and Swedish) and an exceptional occlumens and legilimens.

Miscellaneous Things

Other: If Saga looked in the Mirror of Erised, she would see her parents back together in a long and happy marriage. Her boggart is her family all dead and if one was to craft a love potion she would smell lavender, burning wood and her father's cologne.

Nationality: Irish

School: Lord Aislin School for Magical Folks, Ireland.

Pet: Blue Flowerpeircer; named Indigo

Appearance:

5'6" & 142lbs.

When looking at Odette you noticed she is the type of person that means business. She carries herself in a professional matter, and she does indeed look like a bad ass from another time frame. Being of average height and weight, she is muscular. Her body being put through the grind working with dragons but they have helped her gain muscle definition. Her body does have some curve to it, but that doesn't mean one couldn't have washboard abs.

She has what most would call a cute face. It is a rounded shape, with a typical Irish nose, and sharp angels in her jaw and chin, though they are softer than a typical man. Her lips are quite luscious, and have big dark eyes. Her hair is naturally 'ginger' but used magical spells in order to make the orange stand out. It has a wave to it and is quite long. When working with dragons she wears it in two identical braids.

Since she works with Dragons Odette has various scars on her body. Most often they are covered by her clothing.

Formal Attire

Personality:

Odette is quite the spit fire of a lass. She is very loud and boisterous. It has a lot to do with her Irish Gypsy roots. Odette is usually either well liked or highly despised by her peers and people that come in contact with her. There isn't an in between with her. The same can be said of her, she either well likes someone, or cannot stand to be in the same room with them. Odette spent most of her early life traveling around with some Irish Travelers, and in doing so was met with a lot of discrimination and bullying. Her parents both were Irish Gypsies and were killed when she was five. This caused a lot of her issues in the development of her character. She was raised by her single Uncle and was taught to stand up for herself. She didn't have much of a chance to be a sissy girl.

When she was accepted into Lord Aislin School for Magical Folks, she was met by further discrimination because of her personality. This led to her becoming quite distant and forming special relationships with Animals. Most of her friends she made at the school, were only apt to using her for her brains and thusly, created even more issues with her ability to build trust. Due to this she always comes off as standoffish. That does change though once she gets to know someone and can read their true intentions. Something she has gotten much better at with age.

Once she feels bonded with someone, she does whatever she can to protect them. But if something happens and they turn their back on her, her wrath is that of a monstrous sea creature. She has not problem cutting these people off where it hurts the most.

Positive Traits: Ambitious, Adventurous, Gutsy, Creative, Dependable, Resourceful.

Negative Traits: Carefree Attitude (it will get her into trouble), Too Set in her ways (inability to adapt or change her beliefs), Irresponsibility (rushing into action without prior thought), Distrusting of Outsiders (she is used to small, close knit families that are faced with severe discrimination), Pridefulness (pride comes before the fall)

Areas for Growth: Her interaction with people in general, her inability to bend her belief system, her trust issues. A lot of her growth comes from needing to grow as a person.

History: Odette was born into an Irish Traveling family, both of her parents were muggles. She traveled around Eruope. Their small group have about fifteen caravans of travelers, most of them from the same family line, the Kanes. During the early 90s discrimination was rampant in the area. When they were set up shop and sale their wares they were often the victims of hate crimes, and would have to pack up after a few days. When she was a child, she didn't really understand why they never had a normal home or couldn't stay in one place long. She also didn't understand why people were so mean to her family.

When she was five her family went to a town in Northern Wales. They heard the area was welcoming to various forms of people, and they hoped they would be accepted. Things started out fine, they lived there for three months before things started to get bad. A family in town claimed one of the travelers assaulted their daughter, and a group of people came to extract their form of punishment. Twenty of the people that traveled with them were murdered, her parents two of them.

From there the last remaining people took off and went into hiding. She was raised by her uncle who was only 18 at the time, and still in many ways a child himself. He did the best he could by her, always taking her on exciting adventures, and seeing the world. He taught her to fight, he taught taught her the ways of the world and taught her that being herself was the greatest thing she could do in life.

At thirteen she received a letter to the Lord Aislin School for Magical Folks in her native home of Ireland. Her uncle expressed the fact to her that magic did run in their family and encouraged her to partake on this adventure. She was nervous and feared she would be treated differently. A fear that came to fruition while she was there. Even though she excelled in her courses, she failed in her personal life. She had a few friends, most that just wanted to be her friend for her intelligence.

She excelled in Magical Creatures, Potions, Herbology and Flying. She also enjoyed the History of the magical world and did relatively well in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Divinitations. She did poorly at Transfigurations, Dueling and Charms.

In her fifth and last year, she met a boy Hector Valentine, and fell madly in love with him. He too was a bit off colored, and unique but he used that to his advantage. They had a wonderful romance, but had to keep it a secret because he was a young Professor (Occlumency and Legilimency) and she was student. Once she graduated, (See NEWT results below), she went to Romania and began studying with a bunch of dragon tamers. Her Magical Creatures Professor made the connection with her and there she worked hard for many years.

When she was 25 she was approached by a fellow dragon tamer pal, and was asked to be her instructor to make her a better asset to the magical world. He said many people called what he did being an Auror, but he liked to push the limits of laws. This behavior caused him to lose his job, and go rogue. He didn't follow orders from the Ministry any longer and knew he needed more people like him in the world that were bad asses, took care of their own and went after the wrongdoings in the world. He liked to think of himself as the hound of justice that did what needed done even if it was illegal. Even though he couldn't make her an Auror he offered to be her mentor in order to make her a stronger witch than she ever thought was possible. After a few years of working with him, her magic was indeed a lot stronger than she ever thought possible and she had grown to love him like a father figure.

Even though she is horrible at Charms and Transfigurations she was able to take NEWT level classes.

Name: Kassidy Aberfeldy

Age: 28

Birthday: September 13th

Gender: female

Blood Status: Pureblood

Wand: Sequoia wood, ten nine inches in length, a shorter wand without any bend, dragon heartstring core.

Appearance:

Sun-tanned skin, dirt under her fingernails, and an eternal smirk on her face are Kassidy at a glance. If she kept quiet and wore normal clothes she would blend in a crowd, being an average height and slender build. She keeps her long brown hair loose and wild. Often she will tie feathers into her hair. Never without an assortment of jewelry, she has a penchant for beaded necklaces or bracelets, gaudy rings, and big earrings. Competing with her love of jewelry is her affinity for hats, particularly those with broad rims, be they typical witch hats or more muggle-styled sun hats.

Personality:

Kassidy leaves no one guessing as to what is on her mind. The fourth of six children, she learned young that if she wanted to be heard she needed to speak up. She speaks quickly, and uses a mix of colorful southern phrases and swear words.

Having a thick skin herself, she forgets that others might be more sensitive. Tell her you think she is backwoods country trash and she’ll laugh and fire right back. Slip and say something stupid and she’ll remind you of it until the day you day.

Her strong accent often means she is looked at as being a little slow, but Kassidy is very intelligent. Not a fan of having high expectations placed on her, she is perfectly fine playing the dumb country bumpkin. Her inability to keep her mouth shut means eventually she will blow this cover, and if you spend enough time around her you could discover she is not only smart, but quite the deep thinker. Many of the phrases she likes to repeat are not things she is parroting from others, but things she believes and came up with herself.

Fiercely independent, she prides herself on forging her own life. A study in contradictions, she can be focused and hard working if a task interests her, but otherwise is incredibly lazy and disinterested. This frustrated her teachers in school to no end. Her grades were in constant flux, and by the time she was fourteen it was clear her interests were narrowed to herbology, potions, music, quadpot, and boys.

Kassidy is a pathological flirt and afraid of commitment. These traits mean she is often juggling relationships, rarely gets to the stage with a man when she will refer to him as her boyfriend, and has slept with nearly every eligible bachelor in her hometown, wizard or muggle.

Kassidy loves her family, her work, her pet jarvey, Leroy Brown, a good drink, and her favorite Quadpot team, the Jasper Jackalopes. For fun she enjoys playing guitar, singing, being outside, cooking, and drinking. Lots of drinking.

History:

Jasper is a small town in Eastern Texas and is home to a large community of wizards. Kassidy’s family, the Aberfeldy’s, have been in the area for generations. She can trace her roots back to wizards who immigrated over from Europe and also back to several local Native American tribes, with magic being strong on both sides.

These days the Aberfeldy clan is large, poor, and generally happy. She is related to nearly half the witches and wizards in Jasper and the surrounding area. She grew up in a large family and loves and hates her siblings and their simple country life. Her father can barely hold a job and every few years will blow his savings on a new get rich quick scheme. Her mother breeds crups and her children frequently complain that she loves her dogs more than she loves them.

Like the rest of her family, she attended the Cattywampus Academy of the Arcane Arts in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. She did well in school when she tried, receiving her highest marks in herbology and her lowest in history of magic. She was captain of her house Quadpot team and formed an all-girl musical group called the Clabbert Cuties.

After graduation Kassidy returned to Jasper and started her own business raising and selling specialty magical flowers and plants. For fun she began growing grapes and making her own wine. Her business sense was poor and she was never able to market her wine or make much money doing it. However, by chance, a bottle of her wine made it to a wealthy wizard and wine-loving business tycoon from Nashville. He recognized her skill and before long the two of them teamed up to establish a winery. Kassidy was free to oversee the vineyard and production of the wine, while her new patron managed all things business and marketing related.

Her modest financial success put a lot of tension on her relationship with her family, as they constantly pressed her for money. Typically she obliged, but grew tired of telling them she was by no means wealthy. In the end, her lack of business sense caused her new partner to outmaneuver her and buy full control of the winery. Unwilling to be just another employee when it was all her hard work and toil that grew grapes and made wine, Kassidy quit in a rage. The loss of her winery is still a very sore subject for her.

Using her saving she packed up and traveled the world for a year, learning all she could about magical plants. During her travels she adopted a pet jarvey, Leroy Brown. The two bond over a mutual hatred of gnomes. Leroy Brown, being a jarvey, can speak, but only at a rudimentary level. Kassidy fills in the blanks for him and the two often chatter back and forth to each other.

When her money ran out, Kassidy returned again to Jasper and is trying to rebuild her life. She began submitting academic articles to magazines and herbology related journals. This gave her a source of income and began to establish a reputation as an expert in the field of magical flora. In recent months she has been in negotiations with a magical publishing company to produce a cookbook she wrote called Cooking with Kassidy. They adore the book but her editor is having a terrible time convincing her to remove all the expletives she has laced through her writing.

Specials and Skills:

Kassidy is an expert in herbology, having studied it and worked with magical plants for many years. Her skill in potions is also considerable, as it often goes hand in hand with herbology.

Patronus:

Kassidy has never attempted the Patronus Charm, nor has she shown enough skill with Transfiguration to try to become an animagus, so she has no idea what animal form these spells would result in. It would be a firefly, however. Maybe one day that will happen.

Boggart:

Kassidy’s boggart would turn into a ventriloquist dummy with glowing eyes and an eerie, robotic voice. At some point in her childhood her older brother told her a scary story involving the dummy and she has had nightmares of the thing murdering her and her family ever since.

Mirror of Erised:

If Kassidy stood before the mirror she would see herself as the owner of the Aberfeldy winged horse ranch.
