Details

• One would be wise to avoid the unknown without preparation, to be witty in the face of danger and death. However, the temptation of undiscovered treasures and stunning beauty often lure those who are braver than most to the abysmal blues of the oceans. Some find themselves victim of the depths, bones to forever lay in the sediments. Some, however, make the discovery of a lifetime or find treasures so rare they turn the soul itself gold. Tell me, are you brave enough to dive into the water and see what is there for yourself, or are you content to sit upon land and simply listen to the tales of those who have succeeded and those who have died?




In this roleplay, you will be playing as a diver sent out to explore the worlds oceans and make new discoveries. Due to the nature of this roleplay, it will be Casual, as it probably doesn't have much room for Detailed (as awesome as it would be if we could fit it in). I would like it to be a smaller roleplay, as there can't be massive groups of divers swarming one location like an angry group of bees. If need be, I can split us up into separate 'groups' that are assigned to different areas.








As for any other ideas, do post them below. I will be constantly updating this thread with new details and such. Feel free to discuss, ask questions.




Remember, this is going to be a casual roleplay - there will be a plot, but it won't be anything too deep and don't expect anything too spectacular other than the discoveries you make while diving.


This overview is still very much uncomplete as I work out details. I'm posting it to check for interest and see that, if you decide you may want to join, what the people want.

01 - L O C A T I O N S

For this roleplay, we will be travelling and exploring to several locations on the planet. {If you folks prefer staying in one location, or for me to create an entirely new area, feel free to ask and I will consider it. This is a realistic roleplay - that doesn't mean that we can't have a fictional area or two.} I would like to include different 'regions', so to say - Arctic, tropical, swamp, temperate, etc. Each location will have it's own map type, list of creatures, and other information for your viewing pleasure.



02 - E X P L O R A T I O N

Due to the nature of this play, I am thinking of doing an encounter type system - I post as a 'narrator' instead of having a character myself. However, I could also swing a character in this type of system. The only thing with that is it doesn't feel like it would be a 'casual' roleplay anymore, and might get too complex. So I could simply do free exploring and give you the details of the native species and let you all have fun.



03 - P O S T I N G

There will be no posting order, seeing as I dislike that kind of system and feel like it restricts the flow of the roleplay. I will ask that you all post at least every other day if you can, since we have to get things moving along, but that is not necessary. I also ask that posts are at least one to two paragraphs in length (five to eight sentences), so there is really no room for writer's block here. Other than that, you will feel free to post as you feel - just don't spam it up with 1x1 interaction.



04 - H O M E _ B A S E

As will all things, we need a single place to consider 'home' so our characters can relax and they have a place to store gear, discoveries, and information. I have no idea where to place this 'homebase' - all I know is that it needs to be on the coast, and it could even be on an island. Go crazy coming up with ideas.



05 - P L O T

Yes, I want there to be some sort of plot. No, I don't want it to be big and extremely complicated. But it would be nice to kind of have a base of what we're doing, so we aren't just wandering around aimlessly. I want something to do with poachers or pirates, something along the line, but nothing that'll hurt anybody's brain and is filled with pointless details.

Alright people, I need feedback from you guys so I can build the roleplay you want to see, otherwise it'll go nowhere. I've compiled a list of my suggestions and what I have from you guys (which is currently standing at a 1). Feel free to offer your original ideas for the play and your opinions about what i currently have down - if you guys don't like anything that I've written down, just say so, and chances are it won't be included in the roleplay. Remember, you guys are going to be working as a team of sorts, so if you can't come together and help plan the roleplay, as simple as I'm trying to make it be, then how are you going to function together in the actual thread? Also, thanks for @oOMoodyStarsOo for your suggestion.

• I have figured that the best way for us to do this is to have a certain goal in mind whenever we explore. However, much of the system is still undecided. Please suggest ideas.

• I would like our base to be in a warmer climate area, a place for relaxation and tropical dives between travelling. So far, I've thought of somewhere off the coast of California, Florida, or Saint Lucia in the Carribean Islands.

• I still have very little idea what to do for a plot. I'm kinda into the idea of finding information about poachers or discovering some sort of lost civilization.
