Fantasy The Nyxed (Vampire RP)

Soft Apocalypse
Prologue - The Letter

No one could have imagined that the day would come when one of them would meet their end. What would the rest of the world think when they realize the Nyx could be killed? Yet the letter - sent by Shafira, told no lies of Bea's fate.

The funeral would at least give them all a chance to gather and decide what to do about this tragic situation. If they could work together that is, since the last time they were mostly together was to declare war on each other.

The funeral had been kept small, with only a few made aware of what had happened. After all, a dead Nyx was unheard of - and could pose a threat to the rest of them.
Though it would’ve brought some comfort knowing that Bea passed peacefully - that would be a lie. Whatever curse or disease got to her, it showed no mercy. The only hint they've received was in her final words "The Gods are hunting"

The ceremony had already finished, with only the Nyx left remaining in the chapel.

This is where our story starts - one life has ended, leaving the fates of the rest of the Nyx up in the air.

Prologue:
Manhattan, New York

When the letter showed up, Himera nearly ripped it up after seeing whom it had come from. Shafira- a name that she still struggles to forget no matter how hard she tries. She hands the unopened letter to Kahli, “Be a dear and read this letter for me, let me know if it’s even worth my time.” Himera says.

Upon the reveal of Bea’s death, a look of disbelief fell upon Himera’s face.
The news shocked her- yes, but was she really saddened by it?
Well, it was unfortunate that death had visited one of the more positive spirits of the Nyx. She would’ve rather the target be one of the many thorns in her side. Unfortunately, the last time they spoke was when Bea foretold Himera’s fall from grace. That same look of disbelief was also given back then, as Himera didn’t want to think anyone could take her place of Queen of the Royals.

She thought of Kahli and the rest of the Dawn-Mori. She wasn’t alone to face whatever threat this was, but the other Nyx may have a better idea of what was going on. Though the thought of working with the likes of the “false Queen” sitting on top of her throne sickened Himera. Nevertheless, the Dawn-Mori leader turns to Kahli with a mixed look of annoyance and bitterness. “Pack your bags, we’ve got a funeral to go to.”

Himera made sure she and Kahli were the last ones to enter the funeral hall, sitting far away from everyone else. She couldn’t be bothered with funerals, especially one that now served as a reminder of her new mortality.

Once the ceremony ended, Himera joined the rest of the Nyx up towards the front of the chapel.

“Let’s just get through this quick. I don’t want to be here any more than you all.” Himera says coldly, darting her eyes between Shafira and Kayla.

“Any ideas or volunteers to solve this matter? I’m honestly learning towards catching a plane back to New York if this is going nowhere.” She asks.

Prologue
The day it happened was one that felt very off. Sleep was of no gain to Shafira, a task she found pleasurable to pass the time, but on this day, it irritated her. Her dear friend had yet to turn up for afternoon snacks and tea, the routine they had established for some time now. When she stumbled in, it was like a stone had landed in her stomach and created a sense of dread -something she had not felt in a long, long time- for beside her was Bea. A Nyx that had drifted into the unknown for quite some time.

It was a sight she wished to erase from her memory. Shafira made no hesitation in summoning others within her circle to get Bea comfortable and as the Nubian beauty grasped the seer's hand, she listened to her dark words in rapture. Swallowing them heavily and searing them into her heart. Watching a Nyx pass on was an experience she had never had, not once in the three-thousand years she graced the Earth.

An experience that she was going to fight from being repeated.

Present Day
Shafira, in her own state of mourning, quickly sent out the letters to her fellow Nyx. She kept track of there whereabouts best her could, some she wished to forget and others difficult to reach but she made it work. The funeral was organized in partnership with OLN aligned vampires who would provide the most suitable place of rest for there member but her own Council of Eternity would donate the wealth necessary into creating an appropriate funeral befitting of the beloved Nyx. Her attire, normally one of extravagance and modern glamour, was a representation of respect to her fellow Nyx. Black fabric swathed around her curves, an equally ebony tassel wrapped loosely around the waist to hold it together. An abaya one would wear to a Muslim funeral paired with a carefully bound shayla, long wavy hair pulled back into a braid running down the curve of her spine. Only a single gold bangle adorned each of her wrists, an unusual thing for a woman who would not be caught dead wearing anything less than three pieces of jewelry.

But she recognized it was neither the time nor place for her grandeur. The ceremony progressed smoothly even when the former queen and her former lover entered the chapel. If she had a heartbeat, it would have picked up immediately at the sight of the beautiful vampire. Shafira was pleasantly surprised and elated that even with there history, Himera showed up. At the end of everything, most of the newly or young turned vampires left back to there respectful dwellings. Others who were the same age as Bea wept a while longer and Shafira did not attempt to usher them out. Once they left, it only left herself and the other Nyx. She was the eldest, a fact she knew well, and she had sent the letter. They need to know Bea's last words. They needed to be together for once, not at each others throats. The woman had long left her seat to stand a distance away from the sleek coffin that held the deceased Nyx. Ironic. A vampire, dead, in a coffin. She gave the tiniest of smirk at the thought which was wiped from her thoughts as soon as Himera approached. Goddess, she couldn't help the way her brown eyes flashed scarlet watching the current leader of the Dawn Mori walk up to the small gathering of Nyx. Her pale skin reminded her of freshly fallen snow contrasting the dark locks that framed her face. Shafira had been entranced by those hazel eyes and red cupid lips but really, it was her powerful wings. She could remember stroking them softly, watching the suns rays cast them in a -goddess forbid- holy glow and bathe her smiling face like a painting in the Louvre.

Alas, Himera was no longer someone she could call "her's" and with that thought, her scarlet irises drained back to there dark mahogany hue. She cleared her throat softly, adjusting her tone of voice to not activate her own gift, "Oh, so eager to leave already? I haven't even told you her last words" Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly, a sense of seriousness passing across her features "The Seer's words shouldn't be taken lightly."
