Poetry The Noise I Hear Often

Daisie

Strangely regular (better than the usual bizarre!)
Roleplay Type(s)
More than I'd care to admit...
I hear this peculiar sound.
And more than I'd care to admit...
It falls from my thoughts
Instantaneously.

Be it when I sit in front of the fireplace,
Or along my daily walks,
In my room,
In my car,
In my head,
It drifts in from the window
Looming past my house
Pleading over and over

A haunting wail of pain and panic
Like a banshee's desperate shriek
I feel it wreak grief in its wake
An anthem of mourning
For all lives culled by fate

The steady rise and fall
A whine like no other
A chest breathing its final breaths
Howling its own personal song
Only to be lost in the greater symphony
Of the bustling metropolis

Yes, more than I'd care to admit...
I hear this peculiar sound.
And more than I'd care to admit...
The ambulance's siren
Falls from my thoughts
Instantaneously.
