OKAY SO PRE-YOU-READING-THE-PLOT-INFO:

-My name is Andi. I am an extremely friendly and talkative person who uses cute little things like "cx" and "^u^" when I don't know how to end a sentence. I'm extremely awkward and I'm sorry in advance.
-This is going to be a 2+ paragraph type of thing. Sorry, but not sorry at all. I like typing and when other people like typing, that's pretty chill.
-I'm in like 50 billion roleplays right now and I keep getting side tracked but I'm literally going to smash my face into a wall if I don't make this thread before I got to bed. I will be posting in it regularly. I would like the other people to be posting in it regularly too. (the roleplay, I mean)
-I love this plot so much. It is my literal child. I am still adding to/shaping it constantly and like, 50 billion variations of it exist already and I still love it. I am doing it with someone 1x1 right now, but I'd like to do it in a group again. Anyways. On to what you really want. The plot.

--

Spring break.
The group of friends has planned this out since the moment they formed a study group their freshman year of college. Now, three years later with several major changes, fifty million exams, and too many cups of coffee later, they've finally scrapped up enough money to do it. The year after this, a few of them were graduating- Now, or never.
They were all going up state, planning to camp near the lake. They packed their things, piled into the mini van, and drove for hours to reach their destination.
The first hint that something was off was the lack of other campers. It was Spring Break, after all, but the grounds seemed almost deserted other than a couple hikers and fishers. The friends shrugged it off, though, and pitched camp. To kick the week off, they planned to go swimming at night, and then dry off at the bonfire and roast hotdogs and marshmallows. Or, at least, they would have. Once in the water, one of them is dunked under as a joke- Only, they don't come back up. Distraught, the others dive in to try and locate their missing friend, only to find themselves being pulled down by currents that seem like fingers wrapping around their ankles. They struggle, but, before long, they black out.
The friends should have been dead. However, they wake up on the bank of a lake, but not the one they were camping at. Confused, the group learns that they've been transported to a mythical place that, according to everything they knew, shouldn't have existed. The Hollow. The Hollow, as they learned, was home to all the creatures of legends and fairy tails, and even ones that they hadn't heard of before. The strange world was a safe haven for those hunted to extinction in the worlds they originated from. However, at the time the friends showed up, the Hollow was under attack by something else. The things of nightmares, the creatures that were used to scare small children into behaving, only real, and much, much more deadly. Demons, as the creatures of the Hollow called them. Demons that were destroying their world, and everything they had created. The Hollow, the Elvin queen explains to them, is very much alive, just like every world, realm and universe that exists. It breathes life into everything that is their reality, and without The Hollow's life force, everything will fall apart. The Demons are tearing away at that very life force, doing all they can to destroy it.
Of course, the group of friends have no idea how any of this relates to them. They just want to get home, but, apparently, that's not possible. Not without speaking to the queen of the Hollow, anyways. So, in desperation, the travel to the heart of the Hollow, meeting many strange beings on their way. That's the least of their worries, though. The queen informs them that she can't let them go home. Not during the war, because the portals between their realms are unsteady, and the friends could end up in some much more.. Unkind places, as she puts it.
However, it appears that this scraggly group of just-barely adults didn't arrive at The Hollow by chance:

A millennia before, The Hollow had been under attack by a similar species of demon, so aggressive that the Hollow was literally ripping at the seams. With their world falling apart, a group of sorcerers teamed up to save their home. By opening a portal to another world, they tied the Hollow's life force to Earth's, making it so that the demons were weakened by the sudden energy in the realm. The Hollow breathed new life into it's warriors, effectively ending the war and beginning a new era of peace. However, all magic comes with a costs. The same warlocks who saved the world had to cross to the other side, to Earth, to ensure that the human's world wasn't weakened enough to be destroyed. They had to close the portal from the other side, untie Earth from the Hollow. And, so, the warlocks left their home for the grand unknown, leaving behind a legacy and a prophecy.

When The Hollow needs them most, it was said, the descendants of the warlocks would unite and return to fight the battle once more, and save the realm that was always their home. Of course, how several friends who have never seen battle are going to win a war remains unanswered by the prophecy. Still, if they want to go home, they'll have to try.

POST-you-reading-the-plot-info:

-Character sheets to follow, a few comments.
-First off, war. Also, a few twists that I plan to throw in once we get really into it, but can't reveal yet because where would the fun go?
-I'm like half asleep so if these notes make no sense, I am sorry.
-Okay, here's an important thing: Multiple characters! Yes, people can have more than one spring breaker, and I don't really care how many we end up with because the more, the more interesting the plot. Also, some characters will need to be made for Hollow creatures. They can be literally anything, vampires, elves, ect. They just need to happen. They won't come into play immediately, so if anyone gets an idea for some later on, do it. Just... Do it.
-Okay. Also, these are college students. Normally I do this plot with high schoolers on spring break buuuuut I decided to change it up a bit, go me. Anyways, character injury/death is a possibility but ASK before you harm/kill someone else's character, please. Like I said, there's a possibility of betrayals and all that jazz. Ugh. I'm so tired.
-Uhm, anyways, character sheets:

Standard Spring-Breaker (feel free to customize):

Name: (First and last, middle and nicknames optional.)
Age: (They're in college)
Gender:
Sexuality:
Appearance: (Images are fine, but I gotta say I'm in a period where I prefer realistic. Also, descriptions work. Just include all the good stuff.)
Personality: (Everything that their friends should know about their personality. Don't be vague, basically.)
Likes: (3-5+)
Dislikes: (3-5+)
Skills: (Because, hey, some of them might learn to use magic, so if they're super good at learning stuff quickly that's a thing. Also, if they play football or are good at chess... Basically things that could come in handy.)
Family: (Again, they've been friends for a few years. Just general stuff, really.)
History: (See above!)
Other: (Anything you think I missed/feel like including. Also, majors and life plans could go here, that's cool.)

Clean copy:

Name:
Age:
Gender:

AND if anyone wants to make one now, here's the skeleton I'm using for the queen:

Age:
Gender:

Species Description:
Appearance:

ANYWAYS if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask and I'll answer them in the morning. I don't care how many people join, but I'm making the post order in the order that characters are made. Also, I am super excited and I'm also super tired so I'm sorry if some of this is confusing, I'll probably fix it tomorrow morning when I post my characters.

Anyways, my human babes.

Name: Ian Ryan Fraser
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual, but he just has this attitude of ‘who literally cares about dating, I just want my degree’
Appearance:
ccea0ad30470775e03366dc7209f412b.jpg

Personality: Ian would like to claim that he isn’t the mother of the group, but everyone who sees him around his friends knows the truth. He’s cautious and analytical, always planning things out to the T. If anything at all goes wrong and one of his friends gets hurt, Ian always has a plan. He comes off as slightly snobby because of how careful he is, often loosing himself in thought and not hearing people talk to him. This has gotten him into some trouble in the past with bigger kids at school, but he’s also good at wiggling his way out of bad situations. He’s just hard not to like once you get past the whole mother-complex thing.
Likes: Collecting bugs. Reading. Conducting scientific and social experiments. Photography.
Dislikes: Swimming, he’s hydrophobic. Small and dark spaces, noises that hurt his ears. (Screaming, bombs, ect. He doesn’t like concerts or school dances, for example.)
Skills: Tactical and strategic planning, learned archery at summer camp during his middle school career, as well as basic and intermediate first aid. (He can stitch someone up, but anything more complex than that and he can’t help.) Because he’s a planner, he doesn’t think on his feet and therefor won’t be much use in actual combat. Also, that archery? Yeah, middle school was, like, fifty billion years ago. Good luck making use of that.
Family: His father is currently off investigating a story in Germany, but he and his mother have never moved around with him. His father is an author who often travels to get firsthand experience with what he’s writing about. Because of this, Ian isn’t overly sentimental about his father. His mother works long hours but they have a friendship-like relationship that they’ve had ever since Ian was in middle school.
History: Despite not following his Father all over the world, Ian has moved around a bit during his childhood, especially when he was younger. Although his mother is doing well now, when he was a young lad, they struggled a lot and leap-frogged back and forth to his different aunts and uncles, sometimes sleeping in shady little hotels. Ian grew up pretty quickly but he doesn’t have a lost childhood complex from it, he just thinks it’s a fact of his life that he’s had to deal with. And hey, things are pretty good now, anyways. He can afford to go to college, which is pretty amazing.
Other: He had a job at the town library, and used to run track but messed his leg up pretty badly on a jump.

Name: Avalon Kourt
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Straight (But, she flirts with everyone)
Appearance:
848127a92266a248f7b38503cd31fa3b.jpg

Personality: Avalon is very, very artsy. She always sees the brighter, poetic side of things and is hardly ever in a bad mood. It’s not that she’s giggly and bubbly, but just that she fails to be negative about anything. It’s hard not to get along with her, because she’s very perceptive and often adjusts her behaviors to make people like her. Like a chameleon. It can be said that she’s manipulative, which is certainly true- She tends to be able to get people to do what she wants, like it’s their own idea. (Within reason, of course.) Avalon is known for having her head in the clouds most of the time, and tends to fail to pay attention to her surroundings sometimes, unless engaged in a conversation with someone.
Likes: Painting, music. Photography. Flowers, nature in general. ANIMALS.
Dislikes: Blood. Situations where she can’t put a positive spin on them. STORMS.
Skills: Avalon is a very good negotiator because of her ability to convince people without making them feel like she’s taking advantage of them, even when she is. However, she’s not that great under pressure and can’t handle blood. At all. She will actually pass out, that’s not even an exaggeration.
Family: Avalon has the standard American family. Her father has an office job, her mother works at a day care. She has an older brother who is graduated from the college she’s currently attending, and a younger sister in high school. Since she’s moved out, she’s more or less lost touch with her family, but she does still love them.
Other: Since she’s very dramatic, she’s been recruited into numerous plays, and often makes costumes for them. Oh, and she is a horrible flirt. Like, not bad at it… She just does it too much. She also calls all her friends by their last names for no apparent reason.

Name: Gavin Baudelaire
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance:
hipster-tattoo40-650x813.jpg

Personality: Ever since he was a kid, Gavin has been one pessimistic bother. If it wasn't for his sense of self-deprecating humor or sarcastic comments he probably wouldn't even have friends. Some even find his ability to make something somewhat humorous out of the worst situations endearing.

His sense of trust has long since gone, and literally nothing negative surprises him anymore. Everything that can go wrong, will. He's just learned to live with that. Aside from the negative outlook he has, he definitely isn't depressed or anything of the like. Instead, he just considers himself to have found a balance in his life through this. As negative as he is, he's just as polite as well, and gladly supports a more optimistic outlook in other people.

Likes: Fireworks, Fire, Exploring, Friends, Music, Climbing, and Linguistics.

Dislikes: Social overexposure, Repeditive tasks, Hateful people, Pickles.

Skills: Aside from being very independant, Gavin is great at orientation and remembering things. Nothing really fazes him either. Climbing is one of his favorite passtimes and he's quite proficient at it, and due to his completely and utter lack in humanity he figured that picking up MMA in the last three years was also an alright idea.

Family: It's not that surprising that Gavin came to such a negative disposition. His father was a famous politician, his mother an influential socialite. Their marriage was semi-arranged, and the only real reason they had Gavin was to keep up looks. He was mostly raised by the maids, and had to quickly grow up and lose his childlike innocence to cope. Since he never lacked money, it has little to no value to him. Proven by the fact that he could've had pretty much any housing he wanted, and still picked a shitty basement near the center of his town. Though admittedly, quite spacious.

History: Only-child, odd one out at school, etc. Gavin came to condemn the world at an early age, often getting into scraps with the other kids for simply not understanding how to socialize. His caretakers, the maids of his house, didn't exactly qualify to help him out, and his parents hardly cared. So he was left to his own mischief, which he in time did leave behind. In his early teenage years he managed to break out of his shell, learn to socialize, and also not to hate the world. After all, it hadn't done anything to him personally.

Other: Rushed but wohey there you go!

Name: Morrigan Paisley Carter
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Appearance:
d814438b228f5f4f2d33862b838d40ef.jpg

Personality: Morrigan is a complex creature, just like any other human. To the outside world she is a "resting bitch face" kind of girl. She prides herself on having good grades and being smart. She is the "pretty nerd" to most. To those who grow dear to her heart she is a free spirit that has the right amount of realism. You are just as likely to see Morrigan reading a fantasy love story or something complex on things like the theory of relativity. A gentle creature on the surface, there is always a storm brewing in her that she has learned to fight and not express to anyone unless in times of complete distress.
Likes: Reading, learning, the night time, being free in any way possible, the forest where she grew up.
Dislikes: Moths, shoes, those who are cruel to her loved ones.
Skills: Morrigan is skilled or at least has knowledge in many things. She knows how to hunt(though she was taught at a young age so not exactly good at it), what plants (On Earth) are safe to eat and not. She has the mind that is capable to latch on to complex ideas, and loves to knit.
Family: Her father is a wounded war vet that came back from Iraq missing a leg. Her mother now deceased was a professor for many years. Her father not exactly the fatherly type Morrigan was raised mostly by her older brother, but once he left to follow in their father footsteps and joined the army, she fended for herself.
History: Morrigan's first ten years of life was lived being a wild girl in the forest of Montana. Her family lived twenty miles away from any neighbors, and another thirty miles away from town. When Morrigan was at the age she had to go to school her mother began to grow ill, and thus quit her job, and began to home school Morrigan, while her brother went to school in town. This opened many doors for Morrigan, instead of just being stuck in a class with twenty other kids she was free to learn anything and everything she wanted, all the while being able to run wild and do what she wished. When her father was home he tried to tame the beast inside her soul, tried to teach her to be more like he was(kind of a redneck). He forced her into hunting(bow and gun), but Morrigan hated this and fought tooth and nail to stop. She was ten, her brother sixteen when their mother died. Their dad couldn't take care of them in the ways that he needed to since he lost his leg, so they sold the house and moved into the big city of Portland Oregon. The new world around her did a good job in taming the wild beast inside of Morrigan's heart, molding the girl into what she is now. She never stopped loving to learn though, and through hard work she managed to get a full ride into University.
Other: Morrigan is currently majoring in molecular biology and minoring in Psychology.

Hey everyone! You can call me Red :) I got bored and a little lonely so I decided to glance at my friends' profiles for possible status updates explaining absences, when I stumbled across this little gem in Neptune's profile! :0 I only didn't pick this one in your 1x1 post because I thought it would be way better in a group, and voila, it's here! :D So in conclusion... Does anyone mind if I'm your "one more person"? (A "no" is understandable btw, I just kinda butt my way in here so feel free to send me off ^^|| I just figured I'd take the shot in the dark). So yeah, let me know!

Awesome! I'll go ahead and post it here then :)

Name: Vaughn (pronounced "Von") Wright
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Gay... Mostly
Appearance:
IMG_0962.JPG
Personality: Dorky and sweet with a cheerful and upbeat demeanour, Vaughn is essentially the class clown. He has a habit of hiding sadness behind a lame pun or a stupid joke, and is the type of personality that can easily get under your skin, for better or for worse. Never taking anything seriously, however, can occasionally be a double-edged sword, and it often shows in his grades. Not to mention he's such an awkward little nerd that he once tried to talk to a boy he liked and burped in their face by accident. Smoooooth.
Likes: Sweets, hugs, cracking jokes, hot weather, and playing the guitar.
Dislikes: Rain, silence, being alone, sitting still, and crying girls (he doesn't have a clue how to handle crying girls.. or girls in general, really).
Skills: His older brother used to take him fishing a lot before he moved away with his wife, so he's adept at most forms of fishing, including spear fishing. He's also good at lightening situations that might otherwise be emotionally crippling, thinking on his feet, and he used to take fencing lessons when he was a teenager.
Family: His father died in an accident when Vaughn was a baby and his mother works two jobs to pay the bills; one as a waitress and the other as a bartender. His brother is in his thirties and is living in another state with his wife.
History: Vaughn was raised by his mother and his brother together, both working to support the family while Vaughn was too young. His brother was in college and working as well, and his mother worked two jobs, so Vaughn was left alone a lot. They'd never been a very well off family, so losing his father nearly put them in the poorhouse. He was always the one at school wearing old shoes and knockoff brands from thrift stores, but he'd always played it off with a joke whenever someone asked about his home life.
Other: Vaughn couldn't cook to save his life. Seriously, if you ask him to even try, he'll burn your kitchen down. Best save yourself the call to the insurance company and just cook yourself.

Tsela Michaels.jpg Name: Tsela (the "T" is silent) Michaels
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Gay
Personality: A lot can be said of Tsela, but two things you'll never forget are that he's appreciative and perceptive. Of course, he's also intelligent, heroic and courageous, but those traits are often in shorter supply, especially considering they're mixed with being crazy as hell. His appreciative nature, though, is what he's pretty much known for. On many occasions people, can count on this and his courage whenever they need help. His craziness, laziness and surprisingly pedantic nature can cause plenty of grievances and reach all around. Fortunately, his perceptive self-evaluations help make sure these days are few and far between.
Likes: Dancing, singing, making music, making friends, fruit, reading, house cleaning
Dislikes: bullies, hateful people, spiders, mustard, being underestimated
Skills: Tsela is a bibliophile, so he reads like the wind, and as such knows a fun fact or two about every subject inside of space and time. He is an excellent musician with a large repertoire of instruments. Being an indoor person, Tsela took on gymnastics and parkour to stay in shape. Tsela's greatest skill is his ability to visualize information on his surroundings and in the air around his head, moving data around with his hands as he sorts through it, allowing him to make highly precise calculations at incredible speed
Family: Tsela's father is a physicist, his mother an interior designer, and his older siblings work for the CIA. Tsela's younger siblings are still in high school. Tsela is close to all his family, and never feels out of place.
History: Tsela was adopted by his parents at birth; his biological mother named him. He grew up a happy child and had no problems understanding that his skin was darker than his family's because he had different biological parent. He never felt any less loved. He grew up with overprotective triplet, older brothers, and criminally cunning younger twin sisters. He lived a comfortable life and never needed for anything, though his parents were all too happy to teach their children the value of a dollar. Thanks to his intellect, Tsela soared through his classes and could skip two grades; his parents refused to let him go more than that, insisting that he learn to develop around children somewhat close to his own age. Tsela was mature for his age and it appealed to many of the students, including his first love, who was a guy 5 years Tsela's senior. Tsela was 10 at the time and the relationship that followed required several STD tests and lots of counseling. Tsela never fully recovered from the bad ending to an inappropriate, yearlong relationship. Luckily, he had plenty of support from friends and family and could move on with his life.
Other: One of Tsela's plans is to be a housewife, so he can have the freedom to do whatever catches his fancy without worry about money, and has learned to cook, clean, and keep house to that end. He is deathly allergic to shrimp.

Oh man, sounds super interesting, I'd love to join. Is it possible to have a character that knows about her being descended from an otherworldly warlock?

Possibly! I had considered that once upon a time, since it's possible that a family would pass the story down, but how much they believed it with each generation would probably decrease and decrease. I'm going to say go ahead, but even I'd be skeptical about it. c:

"his plans are to be a housewife"

same, Tsela, same.

Also, I'm super excited. As soon at Crimson posts their character, I suppose we'll be able to get started.

Normally, I wouldn't give a regular human so many varied skills and abilities, but I feel like if you're a certified genius wit classes that are way to easy, and prone to boredom, you would either have A LOT of hobbies or be really good at the select few that constantly draw your attention. Somehow, I managed to strike the balance on each of his skills.

Sure, but they won't come into play until the group actually arrives at the Hollow.

ALSO: I suppose that we're all set at far as Spring Breakers go, and won't be accepting anymore of those. c: Posting order, for now at least, is:

Myself,
Prizzy,
Restful,
Red,
Delacare
