Name:
Ser Brandon Gryffonel

Aliases:
"Brandy"

Age:
54

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Race:
Human

Class:
Paladin, Oath of Devotion

Magic:
The usual paladin stuff, mainly smites and lay on hands.

Personality:
Brandon, despite his age, despite all he's seen, is still the bright eyed, idealistic man he was over thirty years ago. He's almost scarily optmistic, always pushing himself and those around them to see the best in everyone and in themselves, and try their absolute hardest. And he has the charsima to back this up. he speaks with an earnst passion few could match, though this means he's a horrid liar. but it also makes him a skilled diplomat, willing to see both sides of an argument before settling on an answer. He detests violence,a nd will always try diplomacy before hostile action if at all possible. he's not afraid of fighting, however. In fact he's quite terrifying in a fight, which is precisely why he hates it. He seems to be running from his past, only telling a few stories from his adventuring days, and refusing to really explain where he came from and how he got where he is. He also seems to have some amount of survivors guilt, feeling that he doesn't deserve to be where he is.

Hobbies:
Fishing
Woodcarving

Background:
Ser Brandon Gryffonel, formerly just known as Brandon, was born the elder of two brother sin a remote village. The two had a decent childhood, wholly unremarkable. Until the village did what they tend to do in stories: it was razed. The two boys were the only survivors, and would probably have died soon after if they weren't mysteriously taken in by a monastery. Brandon didn't ask questions. As the years went on, it was clear someone was giving Brandon special treatment, while Luvious was mostly ignored. On the night Brandon discovered he would be a paladin, the brothers had a fight, leading to them going their separate ways. Still, Brandon didn't ask questions. He awes just excited to make the world a better place. And so, at the age of 21, he found himself journeying the lands, righting wrongs and slaying beasts. This was when he first met Benjamin, an old crochety wizard that offered his aid. The two travelled together for some years, and formed a sort of father-son relationship. Though this began to sour over time. Ben was...pushy. He wanted Brandon to do things his way, with no regards for the paladin's feelings. They were often moral dubious. Stab an enemy in the back, kill prisoners, etc. Brandon always disobeyed these requests, refusing to compromise his ideal for any greater good. This all culminated when their party was on a crusade against a powerful lich known simply as the Dead King. The group was ambushed by one of their assassins, who they promptly defeated. Brandon had them, he could have ended them right then and there. but he didn't. he let them go, to which Benjamin was furious. This led to an explosive argument, where Benjamin revealed the truth: he was not Benjamin. He was Ezikiel, an ancient wizard, and Brandon was, supposedly, a hero of prophecy, said to unite the realms and usher in an age of peace and prosperity. Ezikiel, disguised as several key figures, manipulated events to get Brandon where he is now, and then everything fell into place. Saying Brandon was angry is an understatement. his entire life had been planned out for him, without his consent or knowledge, by some control freak wizard trying to justify some dusty old scribbles. Brandon kicked his old friend from the group thereafter. They did, however, get a new members soon after: the same assassin who'd attacked them before. After Brandon's act of mercy, she'd seen teh fault in her master's ideals, and thusly joined his enemies. The group went on to slay the Dead King and claiming his massive hoard of treasure. During this, the assassin, an elf named Minerva, and Brandon, somehow fell in love, and decided to settle down, much to Ezikiel's chagrin. Using the money they'd received, the two built the Journey's End, and have lived there ever since.

Other:
-His favorite food is owlbear stew

-While he acts upbeat, he's had to play tough guy a few times, when some cocky adventurers got a bit too handsy. Afterwards, it became common knowledge to watch yourself in the tavern, unless you wanted to be tossed to the curb by a middle aged barkeep.

Name:
Nari-Vishara Gryffonel

Aliases:
Vish

Age:
46

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
Heterosexual

Race:

Kalashtar

Class:
Druid, Circle of the Sheperd

Magic:
(Nature wizard) Specialises in nature magic.
Some minor healing but mostly summoning spirit creatures to aid her.

Personality:
Somewhat reclusive and preferring to stay within the walls of the family home, Vish is only driven to venture into the woods around the home in order to collect herbs and commune with the creatures of nature. She is reserved, tranquil and tends to spend significant time thinking something through before acting. She is kind and caring to towards others, in an intellectual manner rather than emotional. She has a keen interest in controlling her emotions due to the turmoil she suffers from her conjoined soul. She expresses her friendship with a wry smile and through offhand comments rather than being cordial or making lewd jokes.
But ever since the attack on her family all those years ago by agents of the Dreaming Dark, Vish is rather cautious of others, though she remains invariable polite, kind and even compassionate. She is unable to merge her human half's sensitivity with the strange and wild visions and memories of her Quori soul. Beneath her serene makeup, Vish is at conflict with herself, struggling to fend off insanity because of her merged soul. At times she may begin to lose that struggle, displaying confusing and sometimes dangerous behaviour.

Hobbies:
Potion brewing
Spirit whispering
Wildshaping

Background:
(We’re unfortunately a bit too familiar with the story of yourll life, but tell your side of things.) Vish grew up in a small community of her own people, shunned by a nearby human town and her people were forced to live within the bounds of a secluded burrow in a forest. Her clan preferred the quiet of nature to the bustling noise of towns and cities, as they suffered from visions given to them by their Quori spirits. They did not fit in with large populations made up of other humanoid races because of the large differences between them, especially the children. While human children would run, play, laugh and show an emotional immaturity, the kalashtar children would often take part in meditative practices, martial training and telepathic conversations like their adult seniors.
As different as Vish was from other children, she would often be caught sneaking into town to watch and observe the people that shunned hers. Curiosity getting the better of her. During this time, her combined soul with a Quori spirit began to form a connection to the natural world around her and over time, Vish learned to communicate with the beasts and plants, before she was able to wildshape for the first time.
As she grew into adulthood, her people were attacked by the Inspired (evil Quori spirits that follow the Dreaming Dark and pledge to remove the kalashtar from existence) and her clan wiped out. Vish was one of the few survivors, fleeing for her life she ended up delving deeper into the land around her to find comfort in her connection with nature. However, she began to miss the simple tasks of communing with other humanoids, so Vish found a small enough town to feel comfortable with and set up a small herbal shop.
It wasn't long until a Thieves Guild found out about her and commissioned Vish to gather and supply them with a particular rare herb they found many uses for. It was during this time, she met a young human man that both terrified and intrigued her. First they formed a working relationship with Vish supplying the herb and Luvious repaying her with information of the fear Inspired. Eventually it grew into something more, especially when she began teaching him the ways of Psionic abilities.

Name:
Luvious Gryffonel

Aliases:
Guild Master, Mindraker, Oh No!,

Age:
52

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Hetero

Race:
Human

Class:
Rogue/Soulknife

Magic:
Psionic Energy

Personality:
Luvious is surprisingly kind given his former life. He's well spoken and treats everyone fairly. This is, in fact, a lie. Luvious is a gifted charismatic person, but he is also very distrustful of strangers, cynical to the point that he assumes someone wants something just by greeting him. You'll never know he suspects you until it is far too late, and even then you still might not be entirely sure. Around his family, this stops being an act, for despite the problems with his brother in their youth, he deeply cares for those of his blood and those connected to them. Among his family, he is the carefree and fun uncle every child loves to have around and every parent fears will rub off on their children.

Luvious spoils his nieces and nephews with gifts he may or may not have acquired legally and encourages them to pursue their passions, no matter what.

He's a loving and adoring husband, though usually in private.

When alone, he's never really still, continuing to improve his abilities on a daily basis, something he's thankful for his sister in law for. Another stealth expert in the family helps keep him in shape.

Hobbies:
Thievery. Nothing permanent...at least nothing his brother knows about. Most of the time he is just practicing.
Dancing. He actually enjoys dancing, the footwork was useful in his youth and it has become an almost meditative practice as he's gotten older.
Woodwork. When he's not stealing something or being active, he enjoys spending time whittling various things he's seen throughout his life.

Background:
Luvious was born only a few short years after his elder brother Brandon and from that moment always lived in his shadow. At least until their village was destroyed. When they were sent off to the monastery it wasn't any better. He always felt like an after thought "Brandon is going to the monastery...oh and Luvious is going too" "Brandon is doing well in his training...Luvious is a bit of a dirty fighter" blah blah blah.

Where his brother was given preferential training and teaching, Luvious got half hearted and lackluster efforts. This built and built until Luvious finally had enough. He wanted to leave and his brother wanted him close, understandably because of losing their family, but being young Luvious cared for nothing but breaking out on his own. Naturally they fought and his brother won, the better frontline fighter. But Luvious was better at sneaking away. He vanished from the monastery shortly after.

He spent a few years traveling and honing his stealthy skills until he found the Thieves' guild. In that world he excelled. He found what he was truly good at and pushed himself harder and harder. It was in the guild that he discovered and developed his affinity for psionic energy, developing into a Soulknife. This certain event is how he met his amazing wife Nari-Vishara.

He'd been assigned a basic courier mission. Travel, mingle, and retrieve a rare herb from a young woman living by herself. Easy though boring. They didn't get along in the beginning, she having a mild distrust of people and ironically, him the same. Each time he arrived to retrieve the herb and drop off her information, he spent a little more time with her, learning of her life. She in turn dug into his past and helped him tap into his psionic abilities. It took them almost a full year before they had their first kiss and the rest of the relationship progressed from there.

During his career as a rogue, he mainly gathered information and sold it. One piece of information he collected had been for a young assassin seeking the whereabouts of a Paladin who'd been thwarting her master's plans.

As he grew older, he mellowed out further and further, but became far more dangerous as he became less brash. He steadily rose in ranks until he became the Guild's Master, his fingers on the pulse of every piece of information in the land. He dropped all of it the second he found out that he was an Uncle. A few years late but it was still good to him. He packed up everything, left the guild and headed to be with his family. Fortunately, his wife was more than willing to join him.

Other:
Working on the other. Haven't decided on a song yet.

Name:
Kara Gryffonel

Alias:
Kar?

Age:
7

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
...huh? (Unknown)

Race:
Half-elf

Class:
Warlock

Magic:
Little (minor illusion, chill touch)

Personality:
Kara is an energetic child, and one that likes to get into trouble. She can easily keep herself company, as it's never really just her. The youngest of the siblings, she likes to prove herself to the older kids with tricks or fire, often times finding some enjoyment with kicking them in the shins. After all, that's what monks and adventurers do, right? Growing up at an inn, Kara's heard a lot of the stories, certain on what an adventurer is and striving to become that- her 'friend' isn't helping to set her imagination and certainty straight. Chatty, adventurous, noisy, curious, energetic, stubborn.

Hobbies:
Exploring, winning/competing, talking to herself, playing with fire

Backstory:
Kara's the youngest of 5 kids, one who's found her own brand of trouble. She doesn't steal like others, but rather examines, observes, and plays with items before setting them back. Some would say that luck turned against her when she found a crystalline shard, swirls of dark purple and black as it seemed to create its own mist about it. While others might have been concerned to find such a thing, it seemed like an amazing find to the young girl. Hands reached out to grab onto it, and Kara felt herself being pulled elsewhere.

That was how others found her later, clutching tightly onto the shard as she gazed into the unknown. A few shakes and she was back, but her newfound friend never left. As time went on, hearing that other voice became a comfort, one that she would follow easily. This adventure also led to the formation of horns starting to grow out the side of her head. At 7, they are truly nothing much yet, but the young girl is proud to have them unlike the rest of her family. It makes her special, after all.
