The Gijinka Game

Salty

Pokemon Trainer

The island of Eirlys is an island were only gijinka reside. The world outside may be heavily treacherous, with new enemies appearing around each and every corner, but don't let it stop you from chasing your goals! In need of mods.

Setting

The small island of Eirlys is one of a mild climate (similar to the state of California, in the United States of America). The fertile soil, and possibility of there being gold deposits on the island drew settlers to come in boats. These settlers were of a species called gijinka, humanoid-like creatures who are part-pokemon. They have some of the features of the pokemon they are, and can utilize all of the powers that their pokemon has. Gijinka evolve like Pokemon, level up and learn new moves. These settlers made their homes on Eirlys, some became farmers, others merchants and artisans, among other occupations. However, as time went on, and technology advanced, more occupations became viable and the culture of the island flourished, as well as the different possibilities. Eventually, train lines were built, allowing transportation to different lands outside of the island.

Today, the island is composed of one major city, a railroad station, several farms and a small forest.

Plot Information

There are many different paths one may take in this carousel of life. Some are certainly more daunting than others. One may have many different occupations. But all are apart of one, massive story.

Recently, there has been a dangerous spike of new enemies to gijinka civilization. In areas outside of Eirlys, menacing creatures of all different varieties have been popping up. There are the Rusted, that take the form of gijinka; their skin looks as though it has peeled away, revealing rust and metal instead of flesh. They are mindless enemies who will really attack any gijinka on sight. All important government leaders have been desperately attempting to investigate them. But they may not like what they find...

There are the shadow gijinka. They are believed to be actual gijinka, with corrupted hearts. But they do have intelligence, unlike the Rusted. Although intelligent, they tend to have less raw power than the Rusted in exchange for their enhanced wit. They may also be capable of speech. They have bright, menacing yellow eyes and are surrounded by a shadowy aura. They are also capable of using strange attack moves associated with the shadowy aura that surrounds them.

Then, there are the Disfigured. They are globs of shadowy material. The weaker ones cannot have solid forms. But stronger ones may look like canines, bears or anything else of the sort. They have multiple, red eyes. Usually, they'll have three red eyes on each side of their face. They have been observed to be coming from odd portals that pop up randomly in the wild.

In all honesty, the plot that you follow will be carved out by you. But your plot will be influenced by your group.

Groups

Groups can be anything from a group of bandits to a guild. Your guild influences your past, and your future.

Criminal - The Criminal Path is one less traveled, and is mostly made up of characters with darker personalities and thoughts that are less concerned with morals. Con artists, thieves, gang members, and gang leaders are all in this category. Most characters who are on this path should have pasts that somehow influenced them negatively, or negativepersonalities. They are less concerned with everyone around them, and most only care for their own survival. However, groups of these characters may band together and care for each other. Be warned, those of the Criminal Path may be pursued by those of the Adventurer, Military or Investigative paths. They are frowned upon by those from the Religious path.

Academic - Those of the Academic Path are very talented in some subjects, or maybe even all of them. They tend to have massive intellects. Some may flaunt their knowledge and others may be timid, but all of them tend to study and learn as much as they can. Some of these individuals have forensic knowledge, and may assist the Military and Investigative pathways in solving crimes. Their pasts may affect them negatively or positively. Many tend to be observant and curious about the world around them. Some of them may conflict and argue with those who are from the Religious paths due to conflicting beliefs. Some of those from the Academic path may be on the shadier side and assist those from the Criminal path.

Adventurer - Adventurers are mostly guild members and explorers. They can search for treasure, and lost pokemon. Or they could be thrill seekers, and really almost anyone is called upon to face dangers. Adventurers have a wide spectrum of personalities and histories. Those of this Path are usually well-liked by every other path, with the exception of those from the Criminal Path, as Adventurers are often called upon by merchants and store owners to track down criminals. They always seem to clash with those from the Criminal Path, but get along extremely well with every other path pretty well.

Military - Those of the military path are directly associated with the overarching government. They are bound tightly to the law. They can come from a variety of backgrounds and have many different personalities. They tend to work closely with those from the Academic path, and always oppose those from the Criminal path, as it is one of their responsibilities to take down criminals. However, many crimes are not left to the military, but are left to the Investigative path. The Military Path is more focused on the threat of the Rusted, the shadow gijinka and the Disfigured, which have been popping up all over the land. The Military path officers tend to be assigned to guard local villages and to do routine patrols around different territories.

Religious - Clergymen and women of all types fit here. Theological scholars, and experts on all religious studies fall here. They at times will clash with those from the Academic Path, but they tend to get along relatively well with every other path with the exception of the Criminal path individuals. The Religious path individuals mostly have a great distaste for morally negative people who steal and do anything for their own gain. Those of the Religious path maintain their churches, temples and shrines very carefully and are constantly on the watch. They tend to be very kind and charitable individuals. However, as of late, there are more and more corrupt officials using the world's religions for their own gain.

Investigative - The Investigative branch is the policeman and detective branch. They always work towards capturing criminals. They work closely with the Academic individuals, especially those with forensic knowledge. Some may have a begrudging relationship with those from the Adventurer path, because at times Adventurers may get in the way of an Investigator's efforts. Those in the Investigative path often work together with those from the Military path, and the two may not have many issues with each other. Those of the Investigative path sometimes have issues with those of the Religious path, as more and more religious officials are using the church for their own means, such as to gain money.

Stats are used exclusively to stimulate combat.

The following stats are ones that you should be familiar with.

Hit Points/HP - Represents how much damage your character can take before being KOed

Defense - Represents your character's stamina

Attack - Represents your character's amount of physical power

Special Attack - Represents your character's amount of magical or special attack power

Special Defense - Represents your character's resistance to magic or special-based moves

Speed - Represents how fast your character is

If your character starts at level one, then you receive four points in each area.

I will use a Level 1 eevee as an example.

Ex. Eevee

Level: 1

Hit Points/HP - 4

Attack - 4

Defense - 4

Special Attack - 4

Special Defense - 4

Speed - 4

You are allowed to have 5 points to distribute to those stats.

Ex.

Level: 1

Hit Points/HP: 4

Attack: 4

Let's say we want a defensive Eevee, maybe to evolve into an Umbreon. We'd add some points to the defense stat. In this case, I'll add 2.

Defense: 6

But, let's say we want to make our Eevee have a lesser amount of Special Attack power. We'd subtract one point.

Special Attack: 3

Because we subtracted one point from the default amount, we now have one more point to spend on another stat. We have four points now. Since Umbreon is specially defensive, we'll add three points to Special Defense.

Special Defense: 7

And finally, we'll add one point to speed, using up all of our additional points.

Speed: 5

Leveling Up and Stats

Leveling is at times, a bit tricky to deal with. But I'll handle it as best as I possibly can.

I'll use how it actually is to show you.

Levels 1-5 require 10 experience points in order to level up.

Levels 5-10 require 20 experience points to level up.

But it changes after that. Levels 10-20 require 30 experience points to level up.

Levels 30-40 require 40 experience points to level up.

Each ten levels, your character will require ten more experience points in order to level up.

Growth Rates

Stats will be gained upon leveling up. For that, we'll use a mechanic called growth rates.

Growth rates are the chance of a certain stat increasing. This stat will always be a percent out of one hundred percent. If your character has a 50% growth rate in attack, then they will have a 50% out of 100% chance to gain one point on their attack stat.

I will use a Random Number Generator to calculate your stats. Do not do it yourself

Evolution

Your character will always get more powerful upon evolution.

Let's say your character is Gible.

Gible, upon evolving to Gabite, will receive 4 points on his highest stat, 2 points to its lowest stat, and 3 to all stats in between.

Gabite, upon evolving to Garchomp, will receive 8 points his highest stat, 4 to his lowest stat, and 6 to every stat in between.

Characters that only evolve once receive, 12 points their highest stat, 6 to their lowest stat, and 9 to every stat in between.

Characters that never evolve get stat bonuses.

Upon reaching level forty, they receive 10 points on their highest stat, 7 on their lowest stat, and eight to every stat in between

So how do we gain experience?

The amount of experience a pokemon gives is always tied to its level.

A level 1 Pokemon gives 2 experience points. A level 2 pokemon gives 3 A level 3 pokemon gives 4. And so on.

Damage

The mods will always do the math for you. We will state the damage your character has received. But here are the formulas anyways.

Physical Attacks

Attack - Enemy's Defense

Special Attacks

Special Attack - Enemy's Defense
