The semi-otaku next door
The Government is constantly lying to us. They put up walls surrounding the city. Keeping nothing out, and keeping everything in. They separated us into groups in which each on there is a job to do. The Aliens study things, advancing our technology. AND NO THEY ARENT FROM SPACE! The Guardians protect us from things that The Government refuses to name. The Plebians are people who are waiting to be evaluated, usually they are 13 or younger. Finally, The Government. They're the eyes in the sky, making sure nobody figures out the secret (Which I will reveal eventually, people.) that they have been keeping from the people of Old Ashton, a place in the Apalachian Mountains . The Rebels don't follow The Government.

Where will you be?

Dante braced himself for the hit he was about to receive, and receive he did; he wasn't expecting this newbie to even get a hit on him. Dante took the hit and countered with a jab to the ribs and then kicked his opponents feet out from him while grabbing his plastic knife and "stabbing" his opponent in the chest. Dante nodded to his opponent on the floor. "Very nice right hook." He said while wiping the sweat off his face and neck. Dante then started towards the showers and washed all the grime and dirt from his training day in. Today he had been given the task of overseeing the Government training to see the recruits, he had to pick the best to be his partner since his last one had been "misplaced in his thoughts and redirected" (Government words/report not his). Dante was an officer in the Guardians and usually he and his partner would work in the Hole, basically a prison for the Rebels who were captured or those who didn't fit the ideals of the Government. He shook those thoughts away, the Government knew best, they ruled over everyone and kept us safe. He pulled on a t-shirt and jeans along with his gun which he strapped to his leg. He walked to his office on the 3rd floor meanwhile ignoring everyone and keeping his face impassive. He scanned his I.D number which was a tattoo on his wrist and logged his hours and details of his work into the computer.

Lavender took quick small breaths, having trouble with breathing. She was currently stuck in the vents of the building where the Gaurdians live and work hard. The reason of the breathing was the fact that the air was heavy and hot. Too bad she constantly wore clothes that were meant for winter and fall. Lavender had gotten stuck trying to get information for the rebels the previous night when some of The Gaurdians had all gone by her exit to the outside.

Lavender removed her jacket and tied it around the waist of her dirty little brownish purplish dress. Looking at her surroundings, she recongnised it all from last night, dull gray metal that was warm from the constant flow of warm air. Geez. You'd think they would want to cool off during training. Lavender thought, crawling through the vents. As she crawled through, she slipped up and slashed her hand on a loose piece of metal. Lavender let on an unexpected cry of pain as any other nine year old girl would when in the process of getting this type of injury.

Dante's head snapped up as he heard what sounded like a child in pain. What the hell?? He thought and grabbed a nearby chair and stood on while opening the nearby vent. He raised an eyebrow at the sight of a little girl in the vent. "What the....-" He groaned. Fucking security can not even keep kids out? "Out. Now." He snapped. He grabbed her by the jacket and gently but firmly put her in a chair. What the hell was he supposed to do with a kid? He shoved his hands in his pockets and stared awkwardly.

He was supposed to turn her in to The Government, but....he knew she would end up in The Hole. And this was just a kid, (yes they put kids in The Hole), he was so conflicted but he quickly shook those thoughts away. He had to serve The Government. And The Guardians. He sat down next to her and frowned. "Why were you in the vents?" He said coldly. Best to keep emotions out of this and just do his duty. "Are you apart of the rebellion? Answer. Now!" He snapped and raised his voice.

"Maaaaaaybe I am." Lavender innocently smiled, her cheeks soft red against her pale skin from the heat of the vents. "Learn to knock sometime." She wrapped her jacket sleeve around her wounded palm, staining it crimson red. "Though you may 'protect' Old Ashton, you Gaurdians, you have the worst security of all time. Strange, isn't it." Lavender ignored the man's stern tone as she let every word roll off her tongue.

After a moment of silence, she made it clear she wasn't sharing the details without a fight. Lavender crossed her arms and leaned back picking at her leggings and the edge of her dress. She may have acted calm, but her heart was pounding. Lavender knew things that nobody else did. She knew things about the true intentions of The Government. This little girl, only nine in age, could be the collapse of The Government. At the moment, she was silently praying she would survive.

Dante sighed and rubbed his face. This child would be difficult and he didn't have it in him today to become "Ghost" as everyone called him, he guessed they called him that because he usually did things without emotion and seemed to be like a ghost with no humanity. "I don't have time with this and most Guardians are home so it won't do any good to report this." He mumbled as he tried to convince himself it would be alright to let some kid go. She didn't seem dangerous and he didn't want to be responsible for this child's fate.

No emotions, just get to a decision. He grabbed a first aid kit from his desk drawer and took out alcohol swaps and liquid band aids. "May I?" He asked and held out his hand for hers. "Don't want to get infected" He said dryly with a smirk. That was the least of this kdis worries, most people unless part of the Guardians or Government went without and lived in poverty. He noticed she was slightly small and pulled out some money before putting it in her other hand and beginning to clean the deep cut on her hand. "I won't turn you in, but I do have to escort you out and away from Guardian HQ."

Lavender nodded. "Thank you. Thank you very much." She said, altering her attitude from before when she thought the Government might know her whereabouts. Lavender pulled the jacket sleeve from her hand, revealing the gash across the palm of her hand. She flinched at the pain. Good thing he doesn't know who I am. Otherwise... mother, father, I'm going to Hell. Lavender moved her head to get her dirty blonde hair to partialy cover her face.

(Sorry, could've made that better, but I was doing laundry.)

Seraphina was having a bad day.

First nobody could find the deactivator when testing the "active setting" of their bombs out in the mine fields. Then it blew up, and only Lewis blew up, who was only six!!! "Why would you take a 6 year old to a mine field with a bomb you haven't even tested yet?!? Why don't I know that you idiots had made a bomb in the first place?!? We're rebels, not psychopaths!!" Then someone came back from a raid with a bullet in his shoulder, and he died too. Seraphina was furious, and decided to take a walk. She strode along the city angrily until she saw one of the government's training buildings. Smiling for the first time today, Seraphina waited until there was nobody on the side of the building, then scampered to the roof. She looked around until she found a trapdoor in, and climbed in to find herself in a closet, and there were people talking outside of the door. The door opens, and Seraphina lashes out, and one falls to the ground, unconscious. The other unholstered his gun, but she's knocked him out, too. Not exactly a clean entrance. She opened the door wider and slipped out to see... a hallway, with a lot of security people coming out of a room, only a few feet from her. They drew their guns. Seraphina raised her hands in surrender. One closed in on her with handcuffs, and she took the opportunity to sprint into the closet and up the trapdoor's latter. She closed the door just as two men burst in, guns raised. She ran to the edge of the building, climbing down swiftly. She was a few feet near the bottom when a back door opened, security coming out with their guns raised. She leaped off the side of the building and ran out of sight just in time.

Lavender climbed back into the vents once the man had finished the bandages. "I can uh.. find my way back. Thank you very much mister! I'm Lavender Har-!" She stopped herself, remembering not to tell her name. Lavender scrambled through the vents to the outside, now careful of anything sharp.

Upon stepping outside, she sprinted towards the base, about 3 warehouses in the northwest corner of the walls. But the moment Lavender turned a corner a few blocks away, she slammed into somebody. Her face slammed into the concrete ground and her vision was black around the edges. "Owww." Lavender muttered, standing up. Her cheek was scraped from the rough fall and her hands were dirty and the previously uninjured one had scraped fingertips. Lavender looked up.

"Seraphina! What the hell are you running from!?" She cried out, surprised to see the leader of the rebellion. Lavender pulled her hat down to make it partialy cover her ears, for she was constantly cold. "I'm pretty sure this way is no better. I ran into a Gaurdian."

@The Arrival

"O-oh," Seraphina said softly. "I was just looking around, and I got caught. Thankfully, no Guardians, just lowly security blobs. A lot of them, though. You ok? Sorry, Lavender."

"I'm okay." Lavender paused. "Um, I got the info you wanted. I got stuck in vents overnight though." she said, shifting her weight from one foot to another. "To base? Or are we sticking around for that Gaurdian to realize who I am and for those security people to find us."

"Thanks!" Seraphina beamed a bit. "Yes, let's go." She turns and begins walking, briskly but not conspicuously.

Lavender put her hands in her pockets and walked with long strides. She looked at some birds scavenging. "Oi, Seraphina, what do you think the world was like before the government?" Lavender paused. "I think it was alot prettier and a lot nicer to live in. No more running for your life. Or spying. It's quite hard to imagine."

(Sorry this week was hectic as I am studying for my Finals.)

Dante pursed his lips and grabbed his duffle bag full the files of he new inmates he would need to process and interrogate tomorrow, along with the files and some dirty workout clothes he didn't really have anything important to do besides look them over. He paused as he walked outside and was almost knocked over by some low end security guard. He sighed. Really? No peace for 5 fucking seconds? His eyes snapped to the younger man laying on the ground from the force of the blow. Dante was sturdy and huge so wasn't easily knocked over. He raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?" He snapped. "Why did you leave your post? Why is there now no one guarding HQ?" He yelled in frustration. These dumb fucks would be the death of him he was sure. He picked the boy up by his shirt and glared at them. "Well?" He looked around and saw a girl running away as fast as she could and meet up with the little girl he had just bandaged up.

If that girl was trouble he would be in deep shit. Especially if the Government found out he had let her go. "Follow me." He ordered and jogged back into the HQ and headed into the armory grabbing his daggers, pistol, and tracking gear. He pulled on a bullet proof vest and ran back out. "Spread out. Half guard HQ and the others search for her. I want the girl found. Radio me if you find her." He snapped and took off in the direction he last saw her running. Those stupid guards probably wouldn't or couldn't find anything due to their stupidity. He caught sight of the girl ahead of him through some warehouses. He smirked; tracking and interrogation was his specialty. Game on. He thought as he took off after her.

"I don't remember any of it," Seraphina says. "I was too young to remember any of it. It all fell apart when I was about two. I kinda wish I did." She opened the door to the warehouses and went to the nearest door rack, retrieving a Handcannon and an MK23, the only weapons she ever used, although there was a perfectly functional assult rifle sitting next to it. She went to the second floor of the warehouse and waited in front of a window, both handguns at the ready. She pulled out a communication device (a walkie-talkie) and said into it, "Is that you, Ellis? Good, Ellis, get six of the older trained people and get them armed. I need them looking out. Have the rest near the weapons and with both eyes out. Or get them armed. I don't care." She put the walkie-talkie away, and sighed. One hundred and three armed people with combat knowledge, and she still was scared. "Lavender," she said urgently. "Keep an eye out, ok? You're our little spy, as always." Seraphina patted Lavender on the head, and, knowing she might not be able to ever again, said goodbye to Lavender, and went out the front door instead. She stood in complete silence, crouched and blended in a little bit.

Lavender waved bye . "Okay. See you later." She said. She pressed her lips together. "At least I hope so." Lavender whispered to herself. She slumped up against a cracked cement wall and sighed, pulling her knees against her cheeks.

Her mind was going a million miles a minute, no, a second. Lavender held onto the edge of her dress and pulled her jacket tightly around herself, covering herself in warmth.

Seraphina waited, tensing at quiet sudden noises. Was she blending in well enough? No. Was she equipped for any situation? No. Were her guns jammed? Shit, yeah. She turned to go inside, but decided not to, to keep from leading anyone inside.

Edward was crouched next to a man laying on the ground that was trying to cover a gunshot wound,''Well, well Mr.Smuggler...maybe you will be more co-opparative since you have no where to escape,so tell me scum, are you selling weapons to Rebels?'' Edward said as he got a ciggarete out of his pocket and lighted it,''I...Wi..will not spea...k to a dog of the Goverm...ent!'' the man laying on the ground stuttured out, ''Wrong answer scum'' came the gruff voice of answer as he put out his cig, using the man's eye,the scream could be heard all across the dimly lighted backstreet ''I already know you sell weapons to Rebels...so think again before lieing, where are the rebels'' when no answer came Edward got up ''I see...Goodnight to you Mr.smuggler.'' he said as he started to walk away, but before he was out og sight he turned back to the man and said ''I almost forgot, here is a gift from the goverment'' he said as he drew out a Old looking pistol (Colt 1911) and shot the man,and with that done he walked away.

Seraphina flinched at the scream, then the sudden gunshot. Most likely trouble with those smelly bastards. Was it safe to go and look? She quietly worked to unjam her pistols, cursing in exertion, then finally unjamming them. She discarded the jammed magazines and put in a new one. She stood up warily, and walked towards the sound of the shot, with her pistols hidden with an inconspicuous, almost cute look on her face to distract attention- or at least cast aside the worst kind.

Lavender shot up from her sitting position. "Seraphina?! Is everything okay?!" She called out quietly, but loud enough she hoped she would hear. Being an impatient person, she looked outside and saw... Nobody. Did they c- catch her?! They'd murder her! She thought, frightened. Lavender, slipped from shadow to shadow, clumsily but efficiently, and followed faint sounds she knew were footsteps.

As a 'little spy' Lavender had to know what sounds were footsteps or voices or even faint clicks that could signify a trap set around her goal.

Alex began walking down a street to her home, rubbing her aching shoulders as she continued on her way. She stopped suddenly, realizing everything was peaceful and quiet- a little too much to be good... Like the calm before the storm... Alex brought her hand down from her shoulder and slowly began walking again, keeping an eye out now. She ducked into an alley and took out her walkie talkie, speaking quietly into it. "Officer Snow, is something up?" She frowned as she awaited a response, keeping to the shadows of the alley.

Seraphina found where the bullet was shot and where it had landed. She mourned for a few seconds, then went on her way back to the warehouse, taking swerving routes through alleys and behind people's back yards. She arrived at the warehouse and looked around for anyone hiding, but she didn't see anyone. So she went through the main door. "False alarm," she called out. Everyone sighs collectively. "Except I found someone in an alley not too far from here, he was apparently part of the resitance, but I couldn't pinpoint who he was exactly." People groaned and swore that they would kill whoever did it. One man steps up. "So, Ms. Leader, what do we do now?" Seraphina shrugged. "Our previous plans have been aborted, failed, or completed. So just sit tight." The man scowls like that wasn't an answer. "Who made you the boss, anyways?" Seraphina looked at him quizzically. He leans forward so his mouth is brushing against her ear and named an address and a time. "Let's settle this," he said. Seraphina just looked at him oddly. He was clearly much stronger, she reasoned. But what would he do if she didn't go? at the warehouse, people were everywhere. She decides not to go. She goes up tot he second floor and sees Lavender. "Hello," she says happily. "I found a man of the resistance that was shot and killed. But in the meantime, I need to go check the guns room to make sure people aren't just throwing them on the floor still." She walked off. "See ya, Lavender."

Alex frowned and peeked out of the alley at the street. Officer Snow should've responded by now... Maybe something did happen...? She put her walkie talkie away and decided to check any abandoned buildings for suspicious activity, especially warehouses. Even she knew that warehouses were most likely to house suspicious people, mainly rebels. She figured she should've gone back to base to grab a weapon, but things almost seemed urgent.

Alex snuck around alleys and through back entrances of seemingly abandoned buildings. She had been through a warehouse, some closed down shop, and a few derelect houses. She found all of them empty and moved on to the next abandoned building- a warehouse. Before she snuck in through the backdrop she could swear she heard voices. Alex glanced around nervously in case for some reason this was some sort of trap. She carefully peeked in through one of the few windows and gasped. Tons of armed people were just sitting around and discussing something. Rebels... Alex slowly backed away, trying not to make a sound since she knew she was royally screwed if she was seen by the rebels.

Seraphina took her sentry position beside a southwest facing window and looked around for a few minutes. Eventually, she stuck her head out the window and quickly looked down, then stuck her head back in. Fortunately, she mistook Alex for one of their spies inside of a training facility, so she dismissed the matter. "Debrah is back," she said happily into the walkie talkie.

Alex almost laughed when she realized that the rebel must've thought she was one of her own. Instead of laughing though, she practically became a shadow of the night as she swiftly ran and evaded obstacles on her way to the Guardians' base. I have to tell them what I found- and I need a weapon because I doubt that rebel will mistake me again. She burst through the doors and looked around for Officer Snow since he was the post of highest ranking practically. He'd need to know about the rebels hiding out in the warehouse. Alex used the walkie talkie again in hopes of reaching him. "Officer Snow, where are you? I found a whole warehouse consisting of rebels! There must've been over a hundred at least." She patiently waited for Officer Snow to respond and paced back and forth.
