[div class=subheader] SO HERE I WILL PLAY YOU A DETERMINATION SYMPHONY [/div] [/div] [div class=basicsR] [div class=box] Presented with the prince’s usual greeting and a smile—or rather the expression that he had learned was a smile over the years—Richter gauged that his friend was coping rather well with the situation. Well, that was to be expected of the composed eldest prince. He had always been the sort to act with poise well beyond his years, though that in itself was a point of worry.

“Caught red-handed, am I?” he replied to Reon’s blunt commentary, his accompanying laugh just barely sheepish. “You could have at least pretended that I was being subtle.”

To say that he had expected such a reaction wouldn’t be false. To some, Reon’s lack of subtlety was frustrating, but Richter personally didn’t mind it. It was the prince’s method of showing his respect, perhaps, and in the end, this trait did indeed make approaching the matter much easier.

“You’re not wrong, though I suppose it doesn’t have to be one or the other. My old mentor always used to talk my ear off during our spars.” A fond expression settled itself on Richter’s face before it fell back into one of concern. “It seems like you’ve found your resolution as royalty, but what about you as Reon?”

Richter propped up his sword against the ground to lean on it, as if deep in thought. “There’s Little Tobias, Lyrica, and Lady Espen as well…” Suddenly, he took note of the resurgence of his bad habit of acting like an overly worried older sibling. “Well, look at me, sticking my nose too far into other’s business yet again. But...”

Richter paused. Shifting his weight off of his sword, he stood up straight, a sincere smile visible on his facial features. “It won’t change anything, but if you ever feel a need to rant, by all means. That is, if I’m not being too presumptuous in saying so.”

Taking note of the time that had passed during their conversation, Richter’s thoughts were immediately pulled towards breakfast. It was just around the time that he usually scheduled his first meal of the day for, and like the fastidious individual that he was, his rules won over his desire for a good spar. He wasn’t particularly hungry, but there was no saying that the food would stick around until the time that he was. And missing a meal was a big “no” in his book.

“Err,” Richter began awkwardly, “It feels like a waste to have come all the way here only to end up not even unsheathing my sword, but would you care for breakfast? I’ve heard that Myrrh ended up cooking up something strange again.” [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div] [/div]

[div class="textHere"]After the princess confirmed Annette's selection of clothing, she smoothed the gown out almost reverentially. She admired the make, although she knew very little about the quality of clothing save for the embroidery. In the end, though, it was for her highness, and she stepped into the space Viana vacated after she waited, just slightly impatiently, for the maid to finish the hair.

The princess picked out her jewellery, and as she watched, Annette unconsciously raised a hand to her own studs, the red of garnets rather than rubies. No time of reminiscing, now.

"I'd be grateful for help, Viana. Lovely hairdo." She replied briskly without turning her head, and, holding the princess' gown, moved closer to Aeryn, leaving the cloak - it would be a cold day, she felt - lying where it was for now. "You're welcome, Milady, but dress first and talk later." She reminded her friend a little more assertively than what was absolutely needed as she waited for the princess to take the dress, tacking on a hasty, "Meaning no disrespect, your highness." for appearance's sake. She wouldn't expect the lady to be truly offended.

Viana

Viana gave a nod to Annette when she agreed to let Viana help dress lady Aeryn. Taking a couple small steps she took a spot in front of Aeryn. Unable to help her self Viana's eyes trailed the features of Aeryn's face before they came to lock on Aeryn's. Unannounced to her self a slight frown had formed on her lips as she studied her princesses features for a second longer before she looked past to lady Annette. "I must agree with lady Annette. Your breakfast will be getting cold soon and you must have your strength for today." Viana said before once more glancing to Aeryn's face before looking back to Annette. Patiently she waited for Aeryn to start dressing so she could help her here needed. Sure he dress was simple but then again it was made for a princess and those dresses where never just simple to put on and Viana knew all to well from the many days she had helped dress lady Aeryn.

Myrrh's right eye twitched minutely. For some odd reason, she had the feeling that someone was talking about her behind her back. "Not to worry, Milady! I can finish up on those recettes at a later time. There's no need to rush." She reassured, pushing her earlier thought to the back of her mind. That would have to wait, just like her revisions. "Besides, I always have time for friends, and that just so happens to include you." The chef flashed a wide grin, in such an iconically cheeky and brazen style that it might as well have been patented for her.

"Off we go! We have a lot of work to do!" She cheered exuberantly, grasping Espen's dainty hand in her own calloused one in a suprisingly gentle hold, akin to how a gentleman might do so. A trait she gets from her mother, her father would often tease relentlessly.

Leading by the hand, Myrrh had escorted the princess out of the chef's room and into her own, far more impressive quarters. Ushering her into her walk-in closet, the gourmet had the young woman sit on a softly cushioned chair while she, herself, decided to remain standing.

"Now, let's see..." She murmured, allowing her eyes to roam across the extensive amount of clothing in search of something that would be suitable for her lady. "Oh!" She exclaimed, having caught sight of a particularly eye-catching one. "I think this would look fantastic on you!" The cook readily pulled out the dress of her choice.

sitting in the chair she looked at the dress as her eyes widened a bit "your right, It would indeed look stunning, you do have your mothers eye for beauty especially in clothing, I'm very grateful for your help" she said as she gently folded the dress and put it in her bag. "I will most certainly wear it on the day I go to the middle kingdom, I thank you again for your help" she said gratefully as she grabbed a navy-blue silk dress and under garments and and folded them and started toward her bathroom and closing the door. She then set her clothes on the bathroom counter and started the shower as she put a clean towel on the near-by hanger and got undressed, getting into the shower once it as at a desirable temperature.

Mina listen to every word basket had to say, shooting a glance in his direction as she grew sympathetic for him. Love was a trivial thing, she was getting intrigued by the story especially since he seemed to fall for someone who decided to dedicate themselves to God and she gave a disappointed look when he stopped. "I am not due elsewhere for quite some time, I would like to know more Basket." Mina made her way over to the small table in her room, ringing a small bell and a maid came rushing in.

"Bring tea and cakes for me and Basket!" Mina ordered in a strong, but none demanding tone. The maid left to do as she was told and prompted the girl to sit down and tapped the chair near her. "I shall like to know more, I need to learn how to hide this aching feeling deep inside my heart...."

Basket
Basket gave Mina a sympathetic look, for there was not much he thought he could do for the princess at this time. "Well" he started slowly, gathering his thoughts. "The anchoress spoke soon after I entered the room commenting on how scared I looked. I didn't want to mess up and disturb the holy revelations flying about the room and such. Then she started asked me some questions of the outside world and what my goals and dreams were. Those aren't so important now, as they have changed, as all hopes and dreams do. I left that day and hid in Abbess Parsley's closet where I slept in fear that someone would find out I had broken the rules. Nobody came. Abbess Parsley told me upon the next morn I was given the sacred duty of delivering dinner to the anchoress from that point forward. I was struck to my socks with excitement and joy. It was a blessing you see, to be given such a task, and I was closer to god then ever before.

Basket hopped upon a chair, it wobbled around and nearly toppled before Basket caught his balance. He stood upon the chair with the stance of a practiced performer and continued in a more animated and vivid fashion.

"The anchoress was much different than I ever could have expected when I first began my holy duty. Her goal as it was slowly revealed seemed to be turning me into her personal entertainer. First she trained my imagination, allowing me to describe life and spin words in ways that worked my creative muscles". "Tell me of the weather today Basket" he said in a smiling voice of a woman. "Well it was rather clear today Anchoress, the clouds have been rolling in this afternoon though" Basket recited in a high pitched imitation of his own voice. Returning to the persona of the Anchoress he looked over with a raised eyebrow and said "Is that truly all? How lifeless." and back to the younger self "OH. The sky looked like the skin of a dead king, blue in the face as from his mouth a fluffy white froth slowly spilled." Basket looked at Sammy "Did I just..." "Yup. Dead king straight out of your mouth. Shameful." Basket looked over to Mina with exaggerated grimace and raised eyebrows his mouth quivering like he was trying to push a mile through the grimace. "Anyway", Basket continued, "Some time passed, and she started asking me to call her Riella, as close friends don't call each other by their titles. By then I had learned to juggle, dance, tumble, spin words, and sing songs one wouldn't typically learn in church. I found myself seeking new tricks and techniques she hadn't heard of to impress and excite her. Now Abbess Parsley must have known all of this was happening, but she never stopped a thing."

"Eventually the day came where she asked if I would like to know what she looked like. The mystique of the anchoress was mostly gone, but this put some of the fear of divine meddling back in me, and with trembling hands I took the candle I usually left on the ground in front of me and lifted it slowly to the hole in the wall. Riella was much younger than I expected. Perhaps in her early thirties, and she was quite a sight. This was also the first time I saw her room. There was a pile of hay for a bed and a hole in the corner for her hygiene. That was all. Not really what I had expected either, but at the time I thought it was that she rid herself of earthly possessions to become closer to god. I have different ideas now." Basket hopped off the chair and landed sitting in it. "Years passed and my friendship with the anchoress slowly grew into something more. By the end of it all the bishop came to visit unannounced and I was caught knickers off clinging to the wall like a deranged spider monkey. He called for my hanging to happen upon the rise of the sun. Abbess Parsley came to me just before morning arrived. She thought of me as the son she never had and started to escort me out of the convent, but..." Basket breathed in visibly. "I ran up to the tower to say goodbye to Riella, the one I loved, but when I reached the top I found the hole had been freshly bricked shut.

Basket paused for a moment.

"I was devastated. Abbess Parsley found me and escorted me silently away from the nunnery and town, and some poor lad was hung in my place." Basket looked Mina in the eyes, his sorrowful. It was a rare moment for him. The fool Pocket breathed in once again and sighed, collecting himself. "Well I suppose that didn't ease your heart in any such way. I can tell you a broken heart heals with time, but that is no comfort for you I expect."

Eira could only smile in response to her brother's question. Her natural instinct was to reassure him, but for once, it seemed she could not. The words at the tip of her tongue were hollow, and could not be used to convince herself, let alone someone else.

She looked into the mirror as she readjusted his collar for the third time. Her own smiling face stared back at her, as well as her brother's less-than-smiling one. He had grown quite a bit taller recently, and coupled with his austere expression, she could not deny he was a man. Gods, did time fly. As cliche as it was, it really did feel like yesterday he was small and following her around. She could still remember him calling her name, and his protests when she called him a baby. Could remember how his voice used to sound, the way he used to cry, the way he used to laugh -- all of which usually brought her happiness whenever she thought about it, but today, almost brought her to tears. She would be delusional to think he would always be by her side of course, but the realisation that now was really the end crushed her in a way she had never thought was possible.

Not that she could show it -- especially in front of Mykel. Her brother and her were of the same blood, perhaps him more than her other siblings, and she knew he needed reassurance. It was the least she could do for him, and also the only thing she could do for him.

Having finished with his collar, she gave him one more look-over. His appearance was faultless, and that meant she could stall no longer.

"Oh my my, isn't my brother dashing?" she cooed. She locked her arm around his before leaning in close. "I think I'm jealous of the lucky princess already. Come, let us show you off to Jasper and Odette. Jasper was so keen to refute me this morning so I want him to see what he missed out on."

MYKEL

suzu suzu Elekta Kount Elekta Kount That Poppy That Poppy

Guilt overwhelmed him as his dearest sister's face came into frame, snapping him out of his introspection. His gaze tilted downwards, lips forming into a thin line, as she fought back her own emotions. More than anyone, Eira's fate was the most tragic. She would be taken away from her home, her family whom she loved so, all while bearing her beautiful smile that would never waver before Mykel. Cursing himself, to be so impetuous to express his frustration towards all this when she held on in spite of all, he could only sigh heavily at his own misgivings, a empty, wry smile upon his lips, reflected in the mirror. ❝Forgive me, sister.❞He whispered very softly to her.

It were at times like these that he could not help but believe nothing truly had changed between the two of them. No matter how taller, how stronger he had gotten, he would always be that little boy whom would follow her around with a scrapped knee and tears in his eyes. Gods, just the image in his mind vexed him still, a slight blush spreading across his ears and cheeks. It was a sight to behold, one reserved solely for one of his siblings. He'd rather die than to showsuch a weakness to his honorable elder sibling and his wilful twin sister. Eira would always be the certain exception. A truth that held a frightening bitterness that he could not deny, in their current circumstances.

It was as if the very idea of her being taken away by one of their enemies had not quite sank in on him. If something were to happen to her while he was out of her reach ... his body shook at the mere thought, invoking his wrath towards a man whose identity he had yet to uncover, a murderous glare across his face. It would be gone in a moment, his emotions forbbiden from burdening his sister any further.

Forcing a smile, he graced her with a quiet chuckle, mirroring her gesture by tilting his head towards her. ❝What could I ever do without you? . . . Let us go find them, then, I believe Jasper must have been freed from the clutches of the Council by now.❞ His hands found hers, leading the two out of the room to search for the rest of their siblings. But Mykel knew better than to think he sought her to lead the way. This warmth . . . I will never allow it to be lost, not to the south, nor to the west or nor to the east.

Aeryn chuckled lightly, running her hand over the dress fabric, before she took it from Annette. "What lovely choice." It wasn't to heavy or too thin, and with a slimmer dress like this, it show cases her assets. She may not like all the unwanted attention that came with being a woman of her...shape, but she couldn't deny the fact she was very proud of her appearance, as shallow as that sounds. But Aeryn didn't even need a corset. Anyway, unzipping the back, Aeryn took the dress, and quickly slipped into it, leaving any adjustments to be made by Annette and Viana, before her mind turned to her siblings. "I'm worried for Mina. She's so young, still just a child and yet....she will be taken away from her family, sent to live with her husband in his kingdom no doubt, never truely free to be a child again," Aeryn said with a sigh as her brows furrowed into a worries expression. "I cannot help but sorry about her safety." Her and Mina had grown part over the last few years, but Aeryn was her older sister. They may not always be together, but they were family. The though of her marrying a stranger, someone that they had no way of knowing their true intentions or how their relationship may change over time, it worried her. Aeryn was obviously going to marry into a differnt kingdom, that's how the alliance would work. Her brother would marry into the other two kingdoms, but they would get to return home. The privliage of being male. Aerym sighed once more, "I hope she's to be married to someone who will cherish her."

Despite all the years Reon had known the captain, he decided he would never truly be able to anticipate the things he says. What was his resolution... as himself? What a strange question.

"My resolution as royalty and my own are one the same," he replied, as if reciting from a textbook, "I am royalty after all." At the mention of royalty, he stood up a bit straighter. Whether Richter had intended it or not, his question had served as a reminder that he could not be tempted into selfishness. No matter if it was a friend asking or an enemy, it was vital he remained unwavering. He would not let his previous moment of hesitation resurface.

As he listened to Richter's further comments, he could not deny that he was quite nosy, as he had said himself. He was never one to let someone be in difficult situations, whether they liked it or not. While it was unnecessary for Reon -- he didn't need someone to coddle him -- he was glad someone was worried for his siblings. They deserved it, and it was always something he couldn't adequately give them.

Richter finished his speech with an offer to confide in him, and Reon couldn't help but advert his gaze. The gesture was a kind one, and he appreciated it, but things like that just wasn't his strong suit. Even the thought of talking about his feelings was enough to make him wish he was stabbed instead. He was a warrior after all, and not a housewife. "Thank you for... the offer," he finally said, with a slight cough at the end.

Time seemed to fly by with their conversation, and before he knew it, it was breakfast time for most people, and the usual training time for him. He rarely ate, especially in the mornings when the sun was the best, but today, he considered Richter's offer. Today was not an ordinary day, and he knew from earlier he was already having trouble pretending that it was. He needed distraction, and was willing to take all he could get.

"I don't see why not," he said, sheathing his sword, "I trust you will be able to lead the way? I can't seem to remember where the kitchen is."

Vance sighed as he turned away from the map table. The coordination for this trip was exhausting, and the 'what if's were weighing heavily on his mind. “Alright.” he said to the others who were in the room with him, mostly strategists and assistants. “We're as ready we we'll ever be.” he said as he turned from the table and walked out the door, attempting to find some small bit of peace before the trip to the center kingdom tomorrow.

He walked up set of stairs and headed down long hallway, glancing from the floor to the walls and looking at the pictures of his family, wondering what the pictures would look like in a few years with new faces and possibly children. He went to the throne room, which was empty at the moment and sat down in his father's throne thinking that someday soon, this may all be his and his brothers. Vance looked over to the queen's empty seat, wondering who would occupy it along side him. So much was changing so fast and he didn't know how to cope with it.
