I cannot quench your thirst
Because even if you yearn for the truth, you refuse to believe in it.
I cannot quench your thirst
Because no such truth exists that you are in anticipation for.
But I still want to quench your thirst.
Because I am the one the that put you into the desert. Frederika Bernkastel |

- Chopsticks (an odd obsession, don't get me started)
- New Mysteries
- Chess
Dislikes:
- Being Proven Wrong
- Anything Illogical
- Flirts
Fears:
- Heights
Personality:
Erika is what you would call a narcissist. She is confident in herself and her abilities in analyzing, and often goes to great measures to prove that she is right and everyone else is wrong, whether it be through deceit, wordplay, or even flat-out yelling at the person she is targeting until they agree with her. However, consequentially, her confidence in her abilities often leads to her underestimating her opponents, which can be her sole weakness. She is quite stubbornsometimes all the time, therefore even when something has been dropped, refuses to believe that she has figured something out. Ironically, her stubbornness is what makes her such a great detective.
Erika is a very analytical person who learns through her own very odd experiments to discover new things. Some of these "experiments" can be borderline dangerous for this detective, though, which often leads to Rika dragging her away from the experiment that way it doesn't go very far. She very enthusiastically attempts to disprove the abilities of Gifted Humans, even going with the most outrageous theories on how they could have possibly achieved what she calls their "illusions of the eye". She is an extreme realist and there is a possibility that she has snapped in her (pointless) attempts to find logic in everything.
When it comes to relationships with others, Erika isn't exactly what you would call "friendly". She just has never quite been that type of person; therefore, it's easy to come to the conclusion that she has no friends, except perhaps Rika. On the rare occasion that she befriends someone, she can be ridiculously formal towards them...to put it simply, she just has no clue how to deal with people. This is what happens when you were raised with Clue and chess as your best friends....
*facepalm*
Backstory:
Erika was born the daughter of a rather diligent mafia hitman, into wealth and comfort. Her family wasn't very trusting of those outside the mafia, so she had no servants. Life itself was dull and lonely, seeing as Erika was told to stay home all day for her safety. In a way, the girl's parents completely neglected her, so she had to learn to take care of herself at a very young age. She taught herself to stay occupied with activities such as chess, basically wiring herself to think strategically. The closest thing she actually had to a friend was Madhu Leolam, who occasionally dropped by to check on her and/or drag her to mafia meetings.
However, by thirteen, it was too late. On a rather quiet winter day, Erika, fed up with the lack of attention, climbed to the top of her lonely house and jumped off, therefore committing suicide. Before the Grim Reaper arrived to take her soul away, though, she was greeted by someone different.
Frederika Bernkastel was kind to Erika, giving her a second chance at life by sending Erika's soul into Bernkastel's body. Erika befriended another deceased soul, Rika, who had died of heart disease at the age of nine. However, as the years passed, it was clear that Bern's motives were much more sinister. Erika spent a whole five years as an alternate persona, and her detective skills were taken advantage of by Bern. At the five-year mark, Bernkastel sent Erika's soul into the body of Emmanuel Leolam, simply because she was bored. Erika attempted and failed to find Bernkastel.
Erika has been an alternate personality of Emmanuel for two years now, and she has (reluctantly) learned to adjust.

Female
Sexuality:
Pansexual
Crush/Lover:
William @~SpicyCinnyRollSenpai
Race:
Gifted Human
Appearance:
5'3".
Occupation:
Detective's Sidekick (Erika keeps dragging her along on detective missions and calling her Detective Jekyll. Rika comes along to make sure she doesn't die or somethingand because it's funny.)
Social Class:
Living off of a detective's paycheck (Poor)
Affliation:
Jumbo's Take-In Association
Rank:
Bodyguard
Likes:
• Candy
• William
• Meeting New People
Dislikes:
• When Erika talks too fast
• Sitting Still
• Fighting
Fears:
• Bernkastel Returning
Personality:
Ever since Bernkastel "died", Rika has never quite been the same childish, innocent girl she once was. She has grown up fairly quickly, learning to become a lot more responsible and aware of the many responsibilities that come with the manipulation of time. Sometimes it feels as though she has turned into a 97-year-old in a 17-year-old's body...which can be true in some cases, but not really. As in, she's trying and failing to act as such.
Rika still retains quite a bit of the old naïveté of her fifteen year old self, and she obviously still has a lot to learn about life. She is still calm and quiet, almost timid, and the odd verbal tic has only developed from addressing herself in the third person to addressing herself in multiple first person (so like "we")...which is probably a consequence to having technically been one of three personalities for so long. There are moments, however, when she says something oddly wise or intelligent. These moments tend to catch a lot of people off guard.
Thanks to Bern's little trick, Rika, who had been shoved into a body of a little girl, has sort of merged souls with the child. She sometimes shows signs of being a lot like the girl, such as sudden panic attacks or being a little overly emotional and childish, but Rika is determined to save what she accidentally destroyed.
She already knows she's too late.
Backstory:
Rika's family was a poor family that wound up in Hell City under unfortunate circumstances and ended up stuck there due to Rika's mom becoming pregnant with her shortly after they moved. Her mother had grown addicted to drugs and alcohol, however, which consequentially gave Rika heart failure. Rika spent her childhood inside of their small makeshift house in Omega, while her parents, both beggars, attempted to scratch up enough money to help Rika get well. Despite this, Rika actually lived a very happy childhood, learning to adjust to her situation and such. At age eight, a few weeks before her ninth birthday, Rika passed away in her sleep.
Like Erika, before the Grim Reaper could take her soul to the Underworld, Bernkastel took Rika's soul instead after making a deal with her parents. Her mother and father left Hell City, never to return again, while Rika was basically raised by Bern, and a year later, Erika. She was probably the most cheerful personality out of the three, even coercing Bern and Erika into joining Jumbo's Take-In Association. There, she became smitten with the leader, William. In 2042, Rika's soul was taken out of Bern's body and into that of a six-year-old. The child lasted a couple weeks before her soul seemed to disappear, leaving Rika in control of the body. It was then when she realized just how cruel life can be. Rika never got over this, feeling responsible for basically killing the child. She began to change, becoming more mature and more determined to never be so gullible again.
Gear/Weapons:
• Hammer (about 1 1/2 times her size)
• Candy
Strengths:
- Very Strong
- Smart
- Armed Combat
Weaknesses:
- Size Disadvantage
- Low Endurance
- Not the Fastest
Aura Ability:
Tick Tock - Rika's lesser-used ability is manipulating time. She can send herself and up to three other people backwards and forwards in time. Consequentially, she has to be careful not to alter the timeline too much.
Memory Fragment - A much less extreme ability, but Rika has the ability to make the memories of others visible, either to herself, right in front of other people (like a movie), or sent telepathically. These often appear as shards of glass, either a light blue or purple.
Skills:
• Comforting People
• Peacemaking in General
Achievements/Crimes Committed:
• 12-20 Trespassing
• 4 Accidental Murders
• 65+ Destruction of Property

THE CHILD
The little girl cried when she lost her marbles in the desert.
She searched the desert for one hundred years.
The little girl cried when she thought she might've lost them in the sea rather than the desert.
She searched the depths of the sea for one hundred years.
The little girl cried when she thought she might've lost them in the mountains than the sea.
How long will it take till she begins to doubt whether or not she actually lost them to begin with? Frederika Bernkastel |
