  Takano Naoshige, of course, this is his full name after all. If you ever call him by his name, Naoshige he will never answer you (at least, turn his head to your attention unless directed to do so). The only people that would ever use this name would be his birth parents.
  
  Not much is known about his age but according to legends from the human race, the story about the "Shige" demon (which is him, of course) he's been around for about 300 years, which would make him quite young. If you were to compare his age to human years, he would be around just the age of twenty-three years ago.
  
  To fall into the role as the demon lord in the underworld hold lots of responsibility and lots of eyes filled with envy that watch the title be taken by the youngest demon lord in the underworld "history."
  
  Made an apprance in the human world. Practically, a myth/legend about the Naoshige demon who wandered to different towns to kidnap children that played by the lake thousands of years ago.
  
  Of course, more will be known in his background but we shall keep it simple as this for now, eh?

  Golden beautiful eyes that glistened in the dark moonlight shows the demon lord's mysterious eyes. A bit scary because his eyes are sharp enough to cut someone's gaze by just looking at them, stare deep enough and his eyes seem to be like the sun rising after a long dark day.
  
  Nao has two forms: his demon form and his "human form." To not scare the female character, he doesn't show much of his demon form which has a red tattoo that is all over his body. On the right side of his eyes, a red flower of budding is printed to the bottom right of his jaw during his demon form.
  
  Dark navy blue hair, Nao likes to keep a couple by the front of his face on both sides. When his demon form exists within himself (uncontrollably, this makes him powerful than his human form), his teeth shows fangs and his eyes are turned golden into red-gold, the color of his power formed within him.

  All over his body, red tattoo roses are a symbol of his accomplishments in the past. It is a sign of his coming of age as a demon back in the days when he was young, making him the youngest to get these tattoos for his "age."
  
  His tall stature stands at 6'0 ft tall with long, beautiful navy-dark blue hair that reaches to his knee, which is a sign of his beauty in the underworld.
  
  The tattoos that are shown on his body aren't present in his "normal" form where he likes to stay because he doesn't have to use too much power (since he's lazy and it's to conserve his energy). Speaking about forms, he does have two forms: his normal form and his demon form.
  
  Normal form: This is where the female would often see him in and is mostly presented to everyone since he doesn't like to show his demon form to many. It doesn't look as "scary" as it is to others and he is able to conserve his energy with it. There are no tattoos visible and he likes to tie his hair to look "presentable" to others (learned from the humans in their world). He may look like just another human being using this form and was commonly used when he roams around in that world.
  
  Demon form: Tattoos are on his body and face with roses embedded in them. The male's muscles are much more existence and his hair naturally flows down due to the overwhelming power that resides within him.

  The tattoos that are all over his body is a sign of an accomplishment that he had made a couple of hundred years ago back in the human world, where Naoshige had made a name for himself. He chose this tattoo because the red roses that he had stumbled across in the human world had a significant meaning for him.
  
  Although roses are a sign of love and romance, roses actually have thorns that are not thorns at all. They are pricks that can be easily broken off since it really is a feature of the outer layer unlike a thorn. Just like Naoshige and his pride, love, and care for himself, he may look like a rose with thorn that seems harmful, sharp, and quite strong, but within the layer of the prick that people can not easily see, his sense of independence, maturity, and devotion protect his heart and sense of self-love that is hard for himself to have (In summary, it's a tattoo representing himself).

  The Japanese style of their clothing changes throughout the eras that Naoshige has seen and one thing that always catches his eyes would be the beautiful yukatas that are shown throughout the history. Despite the changing years, both male and female Yukatas always stood out to Naoshige, hence, he would always purchase a couple when he is in the human world so that he could have them to wear in the underworld.
  
  Yes, that meant that he wears Yukata like an old fashion person, but he actually enjoys wearing them.

  There are a couple of things that shape Naoshige to be a very charming person. With the right words and quick reaction, Naoshige is the type of person that you'd expect to be cold-hearted 24/7 or quite the opposite in a perfect world.
  
  With situations and people that are close to him, humor and mocking insults may come out of this man's mouth if he knows you well--most directed without any unintentional real meaning. When Naoshige needs things to go his way (specifically, interrogating someone if needed), the man has the ability to deceive people if it comes to this situation. In critical times, he wouldn't even tell his own people what is happening while deceiving other people so that the situation would be "realistic."
  
  Being the only demon Prince who was pampered and spoiled, Naoshige's patience is as small as the flower buds that sprout on a fine spring day. With little to nothing to hold back toward others, he cannot stand still nor be patient enough to wait for things to "fall on their own." He would rather do something than nothing at all in his situation.
  
  Being the type of person who talks harshly and may even mock you at times, he has a soft spot toward others but tends to tuck it away with his attitude and personality. With his intimidating appearance, name, and status, Naoshige appears to be the type of person who may not care for his people, but because of a past incidence, he has learned to gradually soften to others from time to time, depending on the situation.

  It was the year 1605, the year of the Edo period where Takano Naoshige made his appearance in the human world as a young lad who made a name for himself as a demon. In the underworld, there is a ceremony where demons and other entities that are proved to be strong and powerful can make a name for themselves in the human world in order to achieve great power and status in the underworld. It was a test that was conducted and those that failed in the world of the humans were often killed off by other humans or forever rejected in the realm of darkness forever. Naoshige's father had just fallen ill and no one couldn't find out about his father's sickness. It was a strange illness that caused him to not be able to walk properly, causing him to stay on bed rest forever.
  
  Being the only son to the King of the demons, Naoshige had decided to take the test called, "Legend of Myths" where they are thrown into the human world. Their main mission varies upon each person and for Naoshige's mission, he needed to make a name and appearance for himself. It was very common that these demonic presences had caused humans to make stories about these people, which is why the trial was called Legend of the myths because their job was to make a legend about themselves in another realm such as the common, human realm.
  
  For Naoshige, it all started when he had wandered into the human realm at a young age for his demon self. Many believed that Naoshige wouldn't be able to pass this trial because of his young age and he wasn't "powerful" enough to handle these humans. For Naoshige, he proved them wrong. Living in the human world, Naoshige had to quickly adapt to their living in his "human" form that he had created for himself to better understand human beings in order to create a name for himself. Instead of doing the usual route of sounding fearful by living in his demon form, he learned that it was important to study the humans by the way they live and eat so that he can easily pass this test.
  
  Although it was a test of making a name for himself, as a human being, he was taken in by a kind poor family who had one son around the age of ten. They lived near the lake (which is currently near the kingdom that the female character drowned in). Naoshige had been taken care of kindly although they didn't have much, and he didn't mean to make a bond with them, but probably fate had caused him to meet this family.
  
  Naoshige lowered his guard when he was with the child and felt like they were like "brothers." One slip-up of his demon form in front of the child causes the child to back away from Naoshige's demon form. The child's eyes widened with fear on his face, backing up into the pond, and slipped and fell. Naoshige tried to save the child, but as he carried the child out from the waters, the child was already drowned and passed on. People had put the blame on Naoshige (and since he carried the boy out during his demon form, they did not recognize him). From there on, Naoshige's heart became hardened, with fear that the humans would not like him as a demon.
  
  His heart was softened by the kindness of people but realized that the two race was far too different, and Naoshige needed to make a name for himself. Since the first incidence, there had been accidents occurring in the pond. Naoshige had no clue that it was one of his father's minion's doing that was actually doing this accidental occurrence at the pond since it was the easiest access through the underworld. Although Naoshige had some play in killing people who were blinded by greed, he was known as the demon who kidnapped children by the lake, living that legend since the first incident.
  
  Upon arriving with the female's sacrifice, the demon lord decided to take her in because of their "myth" about red-haired humans who are a vital to immunity, power, and status if they were to marry one. Curious, the male wanted to see if this legend was real, testing it out with his new "fiance."

  Pops: Sickly currently and needs Naoshige to take the "rule" over the demons. He may look vicious and intimidating from the outside, but is the type of person who will be gradually warm the more you know. He's a gentleman more than Naoshige and often hammers that into Naoshige's mind although he prefers not to be a "gentleman" to women.
  
  Aiyashi Yoshino: Naoshige's right-hand man who is his follower, protector, friend, butler, and much more. The two grew up together and although he didn't accompany Naoshige during his trials, he felt like he had changed after he had succeeded. He believes that Naoshige is like a brother to him and is willing to risk his life to protect this man.

For the most part she is fairly reserved, keeping mostly to herself. Though, with the right approach she can be open and talkative. Her outlook on life is more bleak, not trusting towards most and thinking the worst. She tends to think more of a way out and to better her position, not caring who gets hurt in the process.

To love is to invite emotional vulnerability and hope is the knife you twist into your stomach; therefore, to survive, she had to abandon it all. Becoming akin to a walking corpse, breathing but not feeling as the days became a repetitive task of turning the hourglass around. Sand flowing until there was no one there to tend to it anymore.

As lonely as her life in the tower was, there were days where she would forget her destiny and revert to being a child. Playing pranks on the guards by pretending to be gone during mealtime, building in-door tents with her sheets while imagining herself as an adventurer, and folding paper planes which she would watch sail over the land that had betrayed her. Of course, a real escape attempt was something that never crossed her mind.

Reading was another popular refuge of hers which she would spend countless hours on, sometimes whole days passing by with her eyes glued to the books. It was there Stella would first encounter the idea of her white knight in shining armour and from that moment and onwards, obsess over the idea of being swept off her feet in a whirlwind romance.

An idea that wouldn't be possible for as long as she was alive.

other: Perhaps the princess can't live in the underworld as she is and have to be 'infused' with the dna of a true inhabitant of the underworld (hoho kissing time)? And perhaps we could throw some political conflict in there with different races demanding to have a right to own her and some time limit on how long she can exist there before her body will begin to decay? Another idea I had was that the demon lord already has a designed fiancé when she arrives there.
