Character Description: Victors mutation has changed him into a monster strait out of nightmares. He stands 6ft 1in and weighs 195lbs. His skins has become jet black, his eyes a glowing red. Underneath his hood his ears are pointed, and his cheeks and gums have receded leaving him with a perpetual sinister grin and his hair has become a pale greyish white.
Personality: Victor is a mutant activist who is the very definition of extreamist. He makes it a point to target those who propagate the capture of mutants, believing that those who hate and fear mutants are deserving of death for their cowardice. He does however have a soft spot for his fellow mutants, and has been known to go out of his way to aid them. while he dislikes his own mutation he refuses to Be cured, viewing his abnormalities as the punishment for his erroneous beliefs in his old life.
Mutant Powers:
The Dark: Victors ability is to manipulate and thrive in darkness. He can "thicken" the darkness around him making it nearly impossible to see and snuffing out artificial light. In addition he can form constructs from this darkness though he usually creates weapons he can create nearly anything that comes to mind within reason. While in darkness he can seem to teleport anywhere within the darkness, he is also aware of whatever enters the darkness with him. Lastly all of his physical abilities are amplified while in the darkness, not by much but enough that he can physically overpower non-physical based mutants and regular humans with relative ease.
Non Mutant abilities:
well trained with firearms- Due to prior military service Victor is well versed with nearly all firearms.
psychological warfare- Victor is very skilled at using fear to his advantage, especially when in the dark.
High pain tolerance- even before becoming The Dark,Victor had a high tolerance for pain.
CQC- As an additional part of his military training Victor is skilled in close quarters combat, particularly with knifes and chains
Weaknesses :
Natural light:Sunlight, and other UV lighting Will negate all but the physical manifestation of his mutation, when he is subjected to this light it actually seems to cause him mental anguish but no real damage.
Psychosis: the rapid change from the hunter to the prey has warped victors mind, he sees the ghosts of the mutants who he has killed.
Loner: Victor rarely works with others, though he makes exceptions for most mutants he is teamed with, he is very poor at teamwork.
Killer: Victor seems to equate death with justice, because of this he can be hard to work with. Due to his aggressive nature he is regarded as a monster to be killed on sight.
Equipment:
Most of his weapons are manifestations of his power and he most commonly uses sawed off shotguns, chains, and knives.
He wears black leather and jeans with a black tee shirt, and black combat boots. He also wears a broken watch on his left wrist and seems to hold it in high regard.
He does posses a double barreled sawed off shotgun which he uses when darkness isn't readily available.
Previous History: Victor La Cray was not born a mutant, he was a common man from a military family who followed in his fathers footsteps becoming a soldier. As a member of the United States Army he came to be a part of the mutant hunting squad known as the Night hawks. Over a five year period he and his squad were estimated to have been responsible for the death of over 200 mutants.
However things have a way of changing quickly in that line of work. The changes came when Victor and his squad encountered a mutant by the name of Bio, this mutant could alter his own DNA and the DNA of others. Several of Victors squad members were killed by this mutant until Victor cornered him, moments before his death however Bio altered Victors DNA adding the X-Gene to it. A few days later Victor had become a mutant, and was forced to flee from his career. However being a firm believer in destiny Victor assumed that he was changed in order to turn the tide of the battle. This caused him to do a 180 turn on his previous beliefs, instead of seeing mutants as a disease to be cured, he began viewing humanity as the disease. As such he has been very busy claiming the lives of those who target mutants.
Character Goals, Aspirations, & an interpretation of your faction's dogma:
Victor hopes to end the mutant persecution even if it means killing all of humanity so that only mutants remain. He understands that this may compound the problem but claims killing is all he knows. He has no known associates and is regarded as a wildcard even among other mutant rights activists. As of now he is regarded in the same way as the boogeyman, an urban legend the mutants created to scare away the hunters.
What themes and plots are you hoping to experience in the game:
Action, Drama, horror, possibly some romance and comedy as well. As far as the plots go I'd like it if The Dark is viewed as a antagonist early on, and hopefully will eventually become a hero. Parhaps a telepath can help fix his damaged mind?
Writing Sample:
As the helicopter finally touched down on the edge of the small Texas town of Odessa, Victor surveyed his squad once more.though it was obvious he was disappointed he said nothing, they all knew why anyway. Last week he had lost half the squad that he had spent the last five years with, this new team was still green around the gills. Most of them it was their very first mission, "Ok keep it tight, don't get seperated, this mutants slippery and dangerous if you underestimate him." The CO announced before shouting "MOVE OUT!"
Victor took point, the half dozen men following closely behind him. They only had to hike about two miles before they came upon the farmhouse. He gestured around the house with his hand and three of the men circled around to the back door. The fight was over pretty quickly, but not without cost. When the doors came down and the soldiers piled in, Bio was ready.
the first soldier didn't even get out a single round before he was tossed through the wall. The flash of gunshots rung through the small livingroom all of which hit nothing. One by one his troops were taken down until he was the last one standing. He raised his gun at the mutant only to have it snatched from his hands, but Victor was quick. He drew his knife and planted it firmly between Bio's ribs before he was tossed across the room landing hard beside the stone fireplace.
"You've spent a long time hunting me Victor..." Bio said as he slowly stalked towards the last surviving soldier. "That ends now, your gonna know what it's like to live in fear, to have to hide from everyone you see." Bio stopped walking and held his hand out to Victor. His eyes began to glow a dull green. Victor saw this as an opportunity and quickly drew his Sawed off shotgun, both barrels flashed and Bio's eyes widened as the pellets slammed into his chest and he collapsed on the ground. Rising shakily to his feet Victor opened the shotgun and took his time putting the two extra shells in. "Ya know it's always the same thing, your kind hesitates, and because of it you die. If you would've dealt with me the same as the others you might've actually survived this."
Standing over Bio he asked him "any last words?" Victor asks with a grin. Quickly Bio grabs ahold of Victors ankle and pumps his gene manipulation power into him. Bio then let's out a laugh, one cut short by the Retort of the shotgun...
