Name:

Autumn Stephens.

Nickname:

Lilith.

Age:

22.

Height:

5'7'.

Weight:

145 lbs.

Gender:

Female.

Sexuality:

Heterosexual.

Nationality:

American.

Backstory:

Spending most of your time in and out of jail was never the recommended lifestyle for any individual, but Autumn often found herself doing time for minor offenses that shouldn't have ever probably even mattered. It's been noted that she doesn't have many friends or relations outside of work, and can often be found spray painting the town whenever looking to speak out against something or someone in an act of warfare. Despite all of this, Autumn has never committed any serious crimes, and has been shown to have a compassionate side for those less fortunate. It's unknown whether or not the young adult lives alone, but several residents have reported seeing mysterious shadows and hearing faint scratching coming deep from within her apartment flat.

Autumn later on gained the nickname Lilith for always striking late during the night and fading away before she could ever be caught for her misconducts, and was often described as "slippery" by the police who took several attempts to catch her and book her into the station. Unfortunately, she also always ended up doing full time since she could never meet the bail, and didn't have any contacts who could pay for the small fee themselves. After several months of the same repeating occurrences, Autumn started spending more time in jail than she did at her own home, and started to break out only to be put back right in prison after being charged for something else unrelated.

How the quiet female ended up within the Cube is a mystery that not even the most smartest of detectives can decipher, but the last thing that Autumn remembered was walking down an abandoned alleyway corridor when she was sure that she was being followed. Before the young adult could have any time to react or confront her stalker however, she was attacked from behind and gagged with a chloroform rag that almost instantaneously made her pass out. Now it's up to Autumn to set her creative differences aside, and work together with the other captured guests if she wants to make it out of here alive.

Occupation:

Although currently unemployed, Autumn has past experiences with jailbreaks, and often knows a thing or two about traps. She can detect when some rooms might be rigged, and knows how to accordingly handle them depending on the type of trap present. Autumn also has some past experience with escaping, and might be a more reliable choice whenever traversing trapped rooms due to her calm demeanor and slender figure.

Trinkets and items:

Aerosol spray can.

Single metallic bracelet.

Chained necklace.

Lip piercing.

???

Personality:

Autumn has always been the type to know whenever to keep her mouth shut. Although she rarely speaks out of turn, she can often be seen silently observing her surroundings and judging those who may or may not be deserving of their lives. Most would describe the young adult as antisocial, and the type who would rather prefer to keep to themselves whenever interactions aren't absolutely required by someone else. However, despite the mysterious front that the young girl tends to display on most occasions, Autumn has also been known as the type to follow directions with extreme ease, and has often been shown to be extremely determined from a competitive standpoint and refuses to back down without a fight first. She can also be extremely loyal to those who do manage to befriend her outside of work related activities, and exhibits a profound stubbornness that meets no ends.

Name:

Melinda Evelyn Summer

Nickname:

Mel or Melly (she prefers the latter); her (by now few) concert appearances are under her middle name Evelyn (omitting her first name)

Age:

25

Height:

5'6"

Weight:

136 lbs

Gender:

female

Sexuality:

heterosexual

Nationality:

American

Backstory:

A car overlooking her on a crosswalk hit Melinda, leaving her with (among other injuries) several complicatedly fractured bones in her hands from both the impact and falling to the ground. Though they would eventually have healed and regained enough functionality for an average life, the doctors emphasized that without specialized surgeries she might not be able to play piano professionally anymore, due to possible stiffness and pain under strain. However, having fallen out with her mother over various reasons (most of them centering around how the young woman failed her career as a pianist and yet continued to pursue this line of work instead of a more stable profession) and thus too proud to ask her for help, Melinda found she could not afford this treatment.

Depressed and not knowing how to proceed, Melinda was approached by a man claiming to be from an organization supporting promising artists, offering help. He said he had known her during her short-lived fame in her younger years and his association would be sad to see her underappreciated talent go to waste. If she were to sign a few documents, his organization would cover the cost of her surgery.
While this offer should be suspicious to most everyone (especially seeing that if that organization - in case it even existed - was that interested in her, why had they waited until now to contact her?), being desperate and not thinking straight in her situation, Melinda decided to clutch at this straw of a possible piano career and accept her would-be benefactor's terms. Not even bothering to read the documents in detail, she placed her signatures and underwent surgery preparations.

Waking up, she found herself with two perfectly functioning, healthy hands - in the Cube.

Occupation:

Melinda likes to say she is a pianist, but in reality she hasn't been able to book a larger performance for years. As a teenager, she had a short window of moderate fame after winning a few piano contests, but like so many others, was forgotten rather quickly. Still, she decided to continue playing in the hopes of being able to make a living off it somehow, aiming to become a répétiteuse or join an ensemble, though neither possibilities came true so far.
To make enough money to pay her bills, she now gives piano lessons at a musical school, mainly to children and works part-time on the weekends at a supermarket.
Whenever she can afford it, she takes singing lessons, trying to develop her voice enough to join a choir as a permanent member - a different way of getting to work in the musical industry.

Her proficiency in music gives her attentive hearing (though she may have trouble categorizing sounds outside of music that she is not familiar with) as well as an intuition of patterns or rhythms in repeating sounds or lights. Through playing the piano, her fingers have become rather nimble, although she would need time to adjust them to other applications than a keyboard. Thanks to her vocal lessons, her voice can carry quite some distance or rise over other people's voices in a discussion if she puts her mind to it.

Trinkets and items:

Item: a small first aid kit with some disinfectant, a few band-aids and bandages and a small pair of scissors to cut them into needed sizes (if the scissors are too much in that, then I'll remove them!)
Trinkets: ear studs with musical notes on them, a tiny music box playing an excerpt of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, 1st Mov.

Personality:

Melinda is certainly not the kind of person who takes well to a situation like the Cube. Prone to worrying already in everyday situations, she tends to have a pessimistic outlook on whatever obstacles she is faced with. That doesn't mean she won't try to overcome them - after all, she has a strong incentive to do so -, but failure or running out of ideas will cause her to give up rather easily, hoping someone else will come up with a solution.

Feeling like she has to pull her own weight, Melinda dislikes asking for help, although she can accept it when offered. If someone does her a favour, she will do her best to repay that kindness.
She does try to be agreeable and avoid arguments with the people around her, but - being on the sensitive side - may get emotional quickly when things are tough, whether that results in crying or rarer, shouting. Unless believing strongly she is in the right while the other person isn't or feeling particularly offended, though, the young woman will attempt to solve disagreements quickly, usually in favour of the other party.

All in all, she is scared rather easily and reluctant to take risks. The one thing keeping her going is that she feels it would be like a bad joke to have her hands fixed up perfectly only to never see her beloved piano again. This, however, has the side effect of Melinda being very nervous about hurting her hands again, shying away from everything that puts (in her opinion) unnecessary strain on them.
