  Patrick had the typical childhood. He managed good grades throughout all of high-school and college, cared for his family and friends in times of need, and even managed to volunteer at the local animal shelter in his free time. He shared his love for animals with his parents, younger brother, and his long-time girlfriend, Elise.
  
  Everything seemed to start falling apart once college was over. Patrick had a hard time figuring out where he wanted to teach, move, and what his future truly held for him. In his last two years of undergrad, he monopolized on the party scene more than he should have, and drinking became a quick release and a hard hobby to kick. He began drinking himself into stupor after stupor and kept to himself as much as possible.
  
  When things went back from bad to worse, he broke up with Elise and moved back in with his parents for a few weeks before heading off to a rehab center down in Arizona. He thought the heat would help him sober up, and he thinks it worked.
  
  Finally home again, Patrick is spending his first winter back at home with his parents. He's been teaching seventh grade English since moving back home, and things seem to be going well. He just hopes he can keep growing in the right direction.
