Fantasy The Blood of Beasts (Probably Accepting) (Not a BloodBorne rp) - Lore

SniperBus

Queen of Snails
In WHO, hunters of all different levels of experience exist. To know the differences between these, there is a simple ranking system. Hunters need not worry about getting a new rank; they are told when their rank changes, and since rank only decides a few, unimportant things, as of now, rank is just a nice "show and tell" piece.

The ranks are as follows:

F - Considering the fact all new hunters start at Rank E, hunters of this rank are so laughably bad that the circulating joke is "Rank F for Fuckin' Failure".

E - All new hunters start at this rank. They are neither in danger of getting their license revoked, nor are they seen favorably by the majority of existing hunters.

D - These hunters have gotten their feet wet, and several monsters lay dead because of them. If a world free of monsters was an ocean, we'd be one drop of water closer because of them.

C - A hunter that has slain hundreds of monsters is rank C. A fairly insignificant rank, containing less total hunters than rank F, because of how easy it is for these individuals to push themselves to their limits and reach higher ranks.

B - Hunters that find themselves at rank B need only pass the written examination and a skill hunt before they are passed on to rank A- these hunters are about to find themselves in the belly of the beast, and may never come back.

A - Anyone who has made it to rank A has surpassed the initial skill curve in learning to kill monsters- once they learn themselves as well as their prey, they will become truly unstoppable.

S - Hunters of this rank have done an excellent job, most hunters who make it up the ladder of ranks die due to arrogance, or believing that they can take on solo jobs. Luckily, these people are not those people, and are a great benefit to society.

SS - Hunters that make it to this rank have left behind the bodies of countless monsters, making the country safer.

SS+ - Hunters of this rank are as legendary as the monsters they've killed, and because of them, the world is a better place.

Herbivores

Fleras

A species of small birds found across the entire continent in many different varieties, their distinguishing feature is the small dot on their forehead that can be found on any variant regardless. Their plumage is simple, though their colorations are often bright and vivid, which makes them easy to spot and easy prey for most agile predators, but to defend themselves they fly in a cyclone-like formation to disorient predators with their shimmering feathers and bright colorations. Known as the Hunter's Aid, Fleras' commotion when approached by large predators is an excellent warning sign and indicator for hunters.

Beasts

Herbivores

Streamwalkers

Large potbellied reptiles, known for their rounded stomachs, their bodies covered in a hard bone like plating to protect from various large predators. Known for their unique migratory patterns, the beasts are born atop mountain sides before climbing their way down to the forest regions throughout their adolescence. Towards the back end of their lives, Streamwalkers climb back up their mountain homes to breed, and thus the cycle continues. Their name stems from the stream-like trenches they make on loose soil while migrating, often being filled with water to form newfound streams and creeks.

Streamwalkers are a low-threat monster, and are entirely passive. Even a Rank-F couldn't mess up a hunt against one of these gentle giants.

To maintain the population, hunters may only kill those that have already bred.

Sabre Oxen

These herbivores range in both size, build, and even diet, depending on where they're found. Despite their large variance, they're widely considered the best steeds a man could ever find on the continent, and their large blade-like horn has grown to become both a symbol of the hunt as well as a useful tool when an ox has ran its last ride. Sabre Oxen's coloration, for some reason, has been known to match the color of the soil of the territory they are raised in, this is thought to be an adaptation to allow oxen calves to hide from predators by lying still in the mud formed by stampeding herds.

Sabre Oxen are passive until aggression is taken onto them, in which case they fight with the ferocity only someone with the skill of a rank B could take care of. If you plan to kill one, it's suggested you do it in one strike.

Ganyup

Ganyups are the first and only successfully domesticated species on Gensho, and are known for their docile and gentle nature. Their body stature has been compared to bears of the mainlands, but their facial structure has been noted to be more canine, and their fur much more grown out, sometimes blocking their eyes from view. Domesticated Ganyups are typically of a golden or light brown color. Wild Ganyups, however, do still exist on Gensho, and are known mostly for being the exact opposite of their domesticated counterparts. Ranging up to 16ft in height, weighing up to roughly six tons, wild Ganyup are aggressive and extremely territorial. They've been known to attempt to engage both hunters and other large predators as often as they can, using their massive claws and impressive body structure to pummel their prey to death. Ganyups are predominantly omnivorous, but the wild specimen have been known to be much more carnivorous in their diet.

Predators

Malidraks

Malidraks are a species of sexpedal serpent creatures, known for their ability to traverse almost any terrain with relative ease. Their size is dependent on their access to food, they have been known to be found as small as 4 feet in length, and as large as 15. Known to be adept hunters themselves, Malidraks are thought to be the ancestor of both dragons and drakes. Malidraks teeth have a unique porous enamel that allows them to secrete venom from vessels set into their jawline. The venom is known to be a fatal hallucinogen, capable of convincing prey that they are fatigued and need to rest, despite the fact that apothecaries suggest there is no sedative within the venom itself. Malidraks can be found across the island body and its outskirt landmasses, and more tropic variants have been known to occasionally travel from island to island to hunt and breed. Their colorations are typically dull yet metallic colors of varying hues, their scales are considered akin to iron in toughness, although getting under them is as simple as striking from the right angle.
