The day was ending, like many others in the office. Taiga sat behind his desk, twirling a pretzel in his mouth while watching some schlock on the TV in his office. The table was neatly organized, something he managed to do once a year. The rest of the office didn't have the same luck. The place seemed like in a constant state of mess, even though nothing was out of place. The half light coming from the precocious sunset - thanks to the tall building on the other side of the street - didn't help either, and Taiga was always too lazy to turn on the lights, anyway. The kitsune had both his legs resting on the table, his midsection peppered with pretzel dust, the black vest holding each crumb dutifully.
The office was below his apartment. The Blood Moon Paranormal Office dealt in any cases that normal detectives couldn't solve: Ghosts, Wendigos, Demons, anything that could be considered away from normality - and legality. Of course, that was only in theory. Even though the line between fantastical and real was quite thin, nobody took his work seriously enough to warrant an actual case. Well, almost nobody. The vampire that took space in his couch was certainly an exception. The events that took place that night were certainly confusing for everyone involved, and Taiga knew that Rowan was still reeling from that night, but everything was alright. Mostly.
The kitsune rose from the chair, letting the crumbs from the pretzels fall on the carpet - he made a mental note to vacuum it, someday - and walked to the front door, turning the sign from open to closed. Another day wasted.
