Her family was very rich and not unknown. When Kiera was born her mother, unfortunately, had died and it was just her and her father but she had really good times. Her father was very kind and never seem to have a temper. He always treated Kiera like a princess but made sure not to spoil her. She learned a lot from her father and everything seemed perfect but then he remarried and everything started to go downhill. Kiera was 10 when her father remarried to a woman named Kristyn Pike. The woman was...well lack of a better word an utter bitch. But of course she didn't act this way in front of her husband but whenever she and Kiera were alone she showed her true colors. She always belittled her all the time and bossed her around but Kiera never said anything, she could see how happy her father seem to be so she decided to keep it to herself but then suddenly one morning he was found dead. Kiera was devastated and now she was all alone. Kiera was 11 so it happened a year after he married Kristyn. Kiera didn't know how her father died but sometimes she wondered if her stepmother had anything to do with it. It was awful thought but Kiera for some reason couldn't deny how strange it all was. Her father was kind to everyone he didn't have enemies, well not bad enough to kill him, he was involved in politics so he would have people that disliked him, and he was in perfect health. Days got worse after he died Kiera had basically become an outright servant in her own house. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Post-Awakening [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Years went by but Kiera tried to stay strong through it. Kiera wasn't one to be so controlled but she felt like she had nowhere else to go she always made sure to obey her stepmother though even that never seemed good enough. There were even days when her stepmother had actually hit her and not like spanking you give a naughty child but like a good slap to the face just for making a small mistake. One day Kiera had accidently broken a very expensive vase that was supposed to be sold off to the highest bidder to raise for charity which Kiera knew was a big fat lie. When Kristyn heard something shatter she came into the living room and lost it. She started yelling screaming at Kiera like a maniac. She then went to grab a belt and started beating her with it. Kiera was on the floor crying and yelling out for her to stop but her stepmother just kept it but then finally Kiera snapped suddenly her body began to shift and grow into a huge white tiger and she attacked Kristyn. The woman screamed in pain but Kiera wasn't hearing it. It was like she had finally snapped then what finally made her stop was when she started to smell the blood and saw it on the floors. She suddenly turned back to her human self to see her stepmother almost torn to shreds and bleeding everywhere. Kiera started shaking and looked in horror. She didn't mean to do that she didn't want to kill her. She hadn't killed her though she almost did. She then started crying saying she was sorry over and over but of course that would do nothing. Suddenly a woman walked in and screamed when she saw her stepmother on the floor and Kiera covered in blood. The woman started phoning for the police and Kiera ran and to her surprise she was fast. She had never been able to run fast like this before. She noticed other changes in her as well but she didn't stop to admire them. Finally, she found herself in an alleyway. She started crying as she hugged her knees. She never wanted to lose it like that again. She never wanted to hurt someone like that again. She kept whispering to herself she wasn't a monster or killer but it didn't help. Kiera had been sitting in that alleyway for an hour now and she was sure the news about her was everywhere. She jumped suddenly when she felt a hand on her head. She looked up to see a man smiling down at her. "It's alright," He said as he bent down. Kiera looked at him a bit frighten and unsure. "Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you. I think I might be able to help." Come to find out the guy was a part of the Blue Lotus. He wanted her to join their group but Kiera had no interest. He told her he could help if she came with him. After being convinced she willing went with the stranger and ended up joining the Blue Lotus. [/div] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;"] Appearance [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Kiera has skin that's white and snow, (including her tiger form) naturally red lips, long straight black silky hair and golden eyes. She also has a curvy body type and her hieght is 5'5". [/div] [/div] [div class="scrollBox two"] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;"] Characteristics [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Personality [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Kiera is best described as an excitable, impulsive, reckless, optimistic, energetic, and short-tempered girl, which is consistent with her normally exaggerated expressions. Due to her great determination, she is always up for a challenge, even if it seems too difficult for her. As Kiera is very social, kind, and truly compassionate, people are often drawn to her happy disposition. She is also very immersed in her own fantasies, and sometimes does not account for other peoples opinions. Kiera is very clever, very creative and eschews tradition for innovation. Despite her impulsiveness, ultimately Kiera is a selfless girl who will risk her own self to do what is right. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Fatal Flaws [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Kiera's impulsiveness tends to get her into a lot of trouble and doesn't think before she acts. He always taught her to stand up for what was right no matter how much society changes. Her father was a very idealistic man who believed everything anything was possible and she's the same. Well same seems to be for her powers. She can't get wet or she loses her ablity to shape shift. The more wet she is the harder it is for her to shift into her tiger form. She can't shapeshift in tight areas. She had a husband who worked as an industrial technician; repairing large machines for a living. Luck maintained the house and did everything from cooking to running errands. Living in poverty meant constantly taking opportunities but Luck had no interest in the outside world. Her focus was on introspection and learning to control her own emotions - she was, most of the time, reminded of her abusive upbringing and having a place of her own, that was safe from that world, took a lot of getting used to. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Post-Awakening [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Luck's Awakening was rather subtle - at first it was a bit of extra cash here and there, then it was landing jobs she wasn't qualified for. Soon enough, their life sparked with potential, her partner was promoted to management and she opened a small out-of-home restaurant that began profiting enough for her lifestyle to accommodate upper Ayodhya's luxuries. The blessings seemed endless, however her husband injured himself on the job which caused a great deal of stress for Luck - running the restaurant and keeping them afloat while managing her own internal turmoil. It was too much and they were forced to sell their home, and move... even deeper into Ayodhya. It seemed to be hopeless until one night at a bar she was watching a couple of drunks playing some blackjack. She didn't know why but she wished one of them goodluck and to her amazement the man began winning every hand thereafter. Eventually it got so bad that one of the other men pulled a gun out and shot him. From that point on Luck kept her ability under wraps and only used it in moderation. During the Astra Conference tragedy she lost her husband to the hands of the Sharuta. After the incident the weight of her husband's death crushed her - a part of her heart gone forever. She, of course, blames herself for not being able to save him but also the government for their poverty and ill-protection from an event like this. There were moments when Luck spent nights wandering the dangerous streets wishing someone to bring her death. However, things began to change once she joined the Blue Lotus. Her anger and sadness had direction, intent... purpose. [/div] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;"] Appearance [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Her appearance is rather mundane - blonde neck length hair that's slightly unkempt - blue eyes and a pale complexion with various freckles across the length of her face. She's slim and almost looks malnourished since most of her days were spent indoors with little contact with people after the restaurant closed. Could also be from the bouts of depression she's gone through since the event. Her family operated a subsidiary firm for Sommerfeld Munitions (SOMU), a long-standing arms manufacturing family company that have been in service of Trinity’s armed forces since their establishment, and as such, Suomi have had the chance to learn much about firearms and the integral knowledge that comes with it. She is often seen as the black sheep of the family and led a troublesome life throughout her childhood - from juvenile detentions to a trial after her high school graduation. Despite her prodigious work as an intern under her brother, Suomi was eventually exiled by her family. This led her to a criminal life soon after - albeit a short one before being caught by her cousin, of whom was serving with the Ministry of Ayodhya District Security (MADS). When given the choice between a lifetime or replenishing the Royal Army Corps’ ranks at her trial, Suomi chose the latter. Even in the RAC, she had received much reprimands and disdain from her officer, but is generally loved by her comrades due to her temperamental, but efficient work ethics. Her early life in the RAC was rather mundane and only furthered her procrastination. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Post-Awakening [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] During her fifth tour to the frontier, Suomi’s awakening was initiated during her dire hours for survival. This gave her an edge over her peers, while helped to save many of her fellow comrades’ life. She thrived in the RAC shortly after, as her physical aptitude and fervent mindset made her an ideal cannon-fodder - although she came through unscathed for the most part. Suomi eventually redeemed herself after a few years in service on the frontier, effectively regaining her rights as a Trinity citizen. Her awakening was both a gift and a curse. Like many before her, she had taken the liberty to practice it in secret, as time went on. Although Suomi’s fondness of her power grew, she had attained much composure and pride in contrast of her early life. She eventually became a more calm and reserved person of interest. Her awakening was both a physical and mental change, to a certain extent. Extending her contract, Suomi put her new-found power to the test, and applied for the RAC's Ranger Program, in hopes of perfecting her power, while furthering her career as an RAC operator. She was eventually transferred to the ASTRA Initiative program when she was seen using her powers on a fateful encounter. Despite this, the young sergeant remained obedient and followed through with it. While she is temperamental, she also displays a certain sense of reservation in order to process her course of actions and thoughts. Suomi is a complex creature of various habit, and can be an ally or foe to many. She is tolerant of most, but will not hesitate to call someone out for their incompatible thoughts in contrast of hers. Post-Awakening: Suomi is a relatively modest person of interests. She tends to be uplifting and finds both heart and soul in her field of work. She is usually reserved in her ways, but could be seen stumbling about in curiosity. However, she can be quite volatile in some situations, prompted by an issue or an individual. Suomi can be overly-attached when it comes to close acquaintances, and like many others - will display sporadic emotions under pressure or duress. She is less ideal to be given charge of a group, and tends to place her determination to accomplish a mission over her own safety. Although different from her prior self, Suomi retains her zeal for a cause - a beneficial and fatal trait that could potentially be her driving force, or a prime weakness for manipulation. Suomi also suffers from insomnia since her exile from the Sommerfeld, which makes her restless most of the time, unless given aid. While she can go for days without sleep, her non-regulated body can, and will render her weakened. The cause for her inability to sleep is unknown, as Suomi tends to distance herself from therapy. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Motivations and Values [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Suomi is a zealous soldier to Trinity’s cause, and firmly believes in peace via order and security. While she owes her allegiance to the Empress and the state, Suomi prioritize the means over the ends when it comes to the pursuit of a greater good - something that she had lacked in her childhood, and wishes to see it recognized in her own conducts. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Fears and Taboos [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"]When it comes to fear, Suomi suffers from acrophobia (heights) and atychiphobia (failure). Having spent little-to-no flying time over the course of her life, Suomi have always been fond of her sentimental control while on the ground. Her disdain for failure, due to her own troublesome childhood goes hand-in-hand with her work. The latter trait had only surfaced ever since her awakening, as she prides her power as her primary will to be recognized. Within her previous RAC unit, it was considered good luck to eat or possess anything O-shaped before being deployed. The O represents zero for anything harmful and often times have proven true throughout her unit's history. As such, Suomi have adopted an O-POS (O positive) velcro-patch on her uniform, and carries it with her almost anywhere. [/div] [/div] [div class="scrollBox three"] [div class=mainHeader] Astra Abilities [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Power [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"]The Walking Arsenal: Suomi is able to conjure or replicate firearms throughout history to aid her in combat (from small arms to light anti-tank ordinances). This ability is heightened by her thoughts and is furthered if she is able to have visual contact on weaponry available within the area. She can summon an unlimited amount of guns to share with her comrades, but doing so will quickly exhaust her should the number exceed what she can carry. The ability excludes melee or primitive weapons that does not utilize propellant agents (i.e. bows, blades, etc.). Having cartridges or propellants without the specified weapon would also suffice the requirements for her to materialize it. The more detail she is able to see or hear, the more durable her conjured weapon would be. Suomi's summoned weapons can be disassembled or customized to accommodate her necessities, without the needs for an assembly kit. She can also summon ammunition for her weapon, but the reloads must be done manually. Regarding her powers and skills, Suomi is less tactful when it comes to close-quarter-combat. While versed with basic combat training and can fend for herself, she is most vulnerable in tight spaces where her powers are rendered inefficient. In terms of practice, her concept and determination acts as a printing station, much like a personified 3D gun printer - earning her the nickname "The Walking Arsenal". [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Limitations [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"]Ballistics: Suomi is only able to summon firearms or other weaponry that uses propellant agents (gunpowder, nitrocellulose, or cordite) - limiting her to the role of a marksman or fire-support infantryman. This puts her at risk and disadvantage in close-quarter situations. Durability: Dependent on the attention and concept of her summon, the weapon may or may not be as stable compared to others as a result. As such, her summoned weapons usually vaporize after a certain extent of usage. Explosive ordinances tend to fade after a single use, while rifles and other infantry weapons lasts longer. Proficiency & Weight: As Suomi is able to materialize up any weapons that she have perceived or possess concepts of it, she must have experience with it to be able to handle it with ease. Foreign weapon that Suomi have had no prior experiences for may not be ideal for many situations. The weapons' weights are also a factor in her summoning, as it burdens her own body. For example, summoning a machine gun that exceeds her weight and physical strength would hinder her from moving. The weight is applicable to her even when the weapons are given to another individual. He was born to a pair of relatively wealthy parents, which living in the Western District, meant that they were extremely wealthy. At least, Auren’s father was. His mother, on the other hand, was what many called a delinquent, a scandal to the Father’s family. In fact, he was threatened with disownment as soon as he was born from the Father’s current wife. Father, on the other hand, still loved Auren, and disdained all of this pressure to take care of his then-only son. His stepmother agreed grudgingly. She couldn’t defy his wishes, not while he was master of the house. Still, she was (at least in Auren’s opinion) a vile woman, willing to subvert her husband’s command, and discreetly cause Auren much pain. So thus Auren was raised, loved by his father, hated by his step-mother. He even had a godfather- Tyrn Ascol. Life was good, with a few downsides.. Until he was seven. That was the day his father was discovered poisoned. From allergies. His father had a serious allergic reaction to scallops, so it seemed, and his dinner the night before was sprinkled with bits of scallops. How this came to be, no one really knows- the servers and cooks swear that they didn’t put any in. To this day, Auren suspects the vile woman who called his Father husband. However, Auren couldn’t do anything about that in his current situation. His step-mother, now his legal guardian, kept him for another year. Then, she sent him to an experiment in the Naraka, citing that he needed to learn respect. With the illegitimate child gone, she could now live life as she wanted- and she erased as much information about Auren as she could. She was very.. Influential and..charming. This experiment that Auren was forced to go to was not your typical disciplinary school. It quite literally experimented with participants, and put cutting-edge cybernetics on and in them. Auren had many implants put into him: a respiration compounder, consisting of a series of modules that attaches to the lungs, increasing how long breaths can be held, and filtering impure substances from the oxygen; a vocal modulator, which is a series of miniature actuators built specifically to reshape the voice box, along with miniature hyper-resonant chambers that dynamically close or open; a tympanal cluster consisting of multiple small membranes of various sizes that can detect a wide range of sounds; and Reflex Synapses, which increases the reflexes of users; and a Cardiac Accelerator, which boosted the function of the heart and circulatory system for a short time. However, with all of these Augmentations, one stood out above the rest: Synaptic Accelerators. These masterpieces of augmentation gave Auren unnatural perception and logic reasoning, a fact he still bitterly regards today. This experiment did focus on discipline as well: disciplining experiments to follow orders. However, Auren must have inherited the genes of his mother, as he abhorred such attempts to destroy his individual self. Eventually, such a project was doomed to fail, and it did, in two ways: A rebellion started, in no small part due to Auren’s influence, and it was shut down by Trinity police. It was there that Auren saw Astras in action, and was amazed at this seeming comradeship between the police forces. Unfortunately, the leaders of the experiment seemed to realize that their end was near, and with what forces they had left, they eliminated the experiments, along with the evidence. Except for Auren, which he cannot help but consider lucky. He managed to flee to several tunnels away before he was found by a street gang. Seeing him as an experiment, there was much debate about whether to turn him in for profit or to keep him for their own gain. Fortune decided that for them, as a rival gang attacked them, and Auren distinguished himself among them. Now part of a group he could call family, Auren learned how to fight, in both scraps and in long distance. Many considered him to be the leader of the gang in a few short years. This rising influence, naturally, provoked the actual leader of the gang, Randoll Eton. He attempted to assassinate Auren numerous times. Finally, after an incident which killed two of his friends, Auren realized that he was putting others in danger, and faked his own death, running off to live on his own. He was 12 at the time. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Post-Awakening [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] It was this most remarkable time that Auren experienced his Awakening. When he was attempting to flee from another gang’s territory- the same one that attacked his former comrades, coincidentally- his awakening occurred. He swiftly used that to his advantage- or at least bits he could figure out. He distorted the space around him to slow his pursuers, and displaced obstacles in their way, among other tactics. After escaping, yet again, Auren began a life as a ghost. He quickly learned how to stay hidden, and how to use his powers to good use. Yet, he couldn’t help but admit- it was lonely. Wherever he was before, he was always surrounded by friends. He kept up a cold exterior, but he really enjoyed company. That was when fate favored him again. When he was thirteen, he bumped into Tyrn Ascol. His Godfather, of all things. After a short, joyous reunion, Tyrn worked swiftly to quietly bring Auren into his custody. After that, Auren returned the the high life. He still had to work for it, or at least it seemed so to Auren. He went to one of the toughest schools around, Tyrn pushed him to go to the toughest trainer and follow his interests, and he underwent a tough homebrew ASTRA training course (Tyrn’s own creation, of course.). Needless to say, it was tough. However, Auren enjoyed it- it was a distraction from the past. He was relatively friendless in this new high society- his personality was too cold. That was his only complaint. Eight years of this, and now Auren has finally decided to join the ASTRA Program. He could have joined when he was eighteen, but he felt inadequate. One might question why he joins a group that seemingly goes against everything he has experienced. His response is that it was what his father would have wanted. [/div] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;"] Appearance [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Auren is tall, and thin. He stands at 6’ 3”, and he weighs an astounding 185 pounds. His skin is slightly pale, and he has plenty of darker areas, because they’re scars. He has black hair, though he colored a streak of it white. Just to stand out among others. His face and body are laced with faded scars, though some are burn scars because of a tragedy near the beginning of his life. Could he be considered handsome? Yes, but it is marred by the scars. Duh. His eyes are a dark grey, though he recently gained an “edge,” if you could call it that, of black on the rim of his iris. Auren also likes to wear dark clothes, normally a black colored jacket with black jeans and black military boots. Auren carries a satchel with him as well, in the style like Indiana Jones, obligatory dark colors as well. It carries essentials: Medicine, Lockpicks, and ammunition, in addition to a MP3 player, with a cord to upload songs he likes. [/div] [/div] [div class="scrollBox two"] [div class=mainHeader style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;"] Characteristics [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Personality [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] One main trait that defines Auren is his shyness. Because of this, Auren tends to be quiet, though when someone discusses a topic he enjoys, he will become animated. Furthermore, he tends to avoid centering himself in crowds, or even getting into crowds in the first place. His shyness does not reach the point where he hides behind others, though he does stutter from time to time, whether it be from the aforementioned shyness, or his tongue struggling to express his mind. Another trait of Auren is that he is intelligent. This is a result of many things: his self-perfectionist attitude, his natural aptitude, and his advanced learning. It manifests as a cold, calculating mind. He tends to treat everyone else as pawns, and he realizes this. Furthermore, this mental aptitude allows him to grasp many concepts, such as geometry and the sciences, though he focuses his mind on matters of perception. Auren is also a jokester, though this is secondary to his intelligence, normally. His humor normally comes from sarcasm, wit, and wordplay. Another trait of Auren is he is polite; though he may stutter from time to time, he still never fails to thank others, and do minor acts of kindness towards others. Despite this polite exterior, he is still a very...ruthless and efficient person. As stated before, he treats people as pawns. As such, he will manipulate the situation to fit his agenda, whatever it is. However, that does not mean his agenda is purely for self-gain. He was raised in a household that emphasizes being morally good. He holds these teachings close to his mind, if not his heart. All of this is not to say that Auren is emotionless, a psychopath. It simply means that his logic and mind suppress his emotions, or (in rare cases) his emotions get the better of him. Furthermore, if he gains someone he trusts his attitude shifts. And despite this seeming lack of emotion, he still has an emptiness, a hurting in his chest. To be honest, perhaps he doesn’t feel emotions because that emptiness is all he can feel. Perhaps not. Either way, he dismisses this feeling as a part of his psych, preferring instead to focus on present matters. It is not a dramatic shift, but rather, one sees him making attempts to understand why they are doing their actions, offering more extensive help, and clumsy attempts at emotional support. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Fatal Flaws [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Auren tends to be aloof, quiet, and nearly emotionless. This leads to a seeming lack of concern for life if logic and necessity trump the value of life. Auren also tends to be sarcastic, uncaring of the station of whom he is addressing to. If the person expresses what is idiocy in his mind, he will reply scathingly. Another trait of his is that he tends to ignore the social niceties that are required for people. He can discuss the details of gory deaths without thinking of the distress it could cause others. However, in contrast to all of this anti-socialness, he still enjoys talking to other people, if not to the same extent as an extrovert. He does not like being alone. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Motivations and Values [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] To be honest, Auren mainly joined the ASTRA program because he feels like his father would approve. And because he needs a sense of comradeship, even if he does deny it nominally. Auren would like to bring his stepmother to justice, to eliminate Randoll from this life (and consequently help his former gangmates), and to find his stepmother. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Fears and Taboos [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Auren may dismiss his fears to the back of his mind; however, the fact is, they are still there. He is afraid primarily of letting his emotions control him, as he is unused to such feelings. That was such a gruesome way to go, though, and she didn't like the idea. The next easiest way out was to whore herself out like her mother did. She didn't have the looks for it, or the attitude. So, young Mercedes Hartland took to holding up strangers for their valuables and their cash. Life just wasn't fair, this much she knew. She was just unfortunate enough to be born into such a mess of a family. Of course, this meant that, by the same logic, the people she held a knife to had the misfortune of crossing her path when she needed cash for lunch. All was fine with the world that way. She was never caught, and since she never really harmed anyone other than a few officers trying to apprehend her, there were more important things to focus on than some whore’s child roaming the street. Mercedes hit the big time, as big a time as any for a petty thief like her, when she was 18, plying her trade for unsavory types. Needed something nicked off some bugger off the streets? Needed extra muscle to rough up some dumb Ayodhan who wandered into the wrong neighbourhood? Needed pesky gnats swatted before they dug up some dirty laundry? Mercedes was your girl. All she needed was some coin. She was good with what she did, and through the years, she only got better, and pretty damn soon, she was almost exclusively paid as a security force by herself. After that one infamous stunt she pulled that left twenty fully armed men dead or dying by her lonesome, a particularly superstitious rumormonger gave her the moniker of Rudra, and it stuck. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Post-Awakening [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] In the past half a decade, business has declined for Mercedes. Not that she minded, anyway. Her Awakening, while it certainly expedited some business deals, also soon made her realise just how much she needed a break. Furthermore, using her power was almost hypocritical to her own beliefs. Even with the added challenge, the humdrum of it all was just wearing her out. The decline was good for her health, and the piling requests on her backlog thinned out considerably. It was probably from the emergence of Astras and whatever the heck that business was, and now cowards from a time before they had handicaps now moved onto the business she almost cornered. While it pissed her off that most of these people had an ‘Easy Mode’ applied to their lives, she could use the break. Or so she thought. The decline didn't hit as hard as she expected, but one could never have enough money. No, the money wasn't the only issue. It was the thrill of just with the knife in her hand. She realised she was wrong. She needed a break, yes, but only so she could suffer the withdrawal. She wanted the adrenaline again. Working as a part-time barista was boring. Mercedes Hartland was boring. Rudra was so much more thrilling. So she put her name back on the market, a gun for hire, any one, any place, any time, for a price. That is the best most can come up with when asked to describe Mercedes due to how plain she looks. She is mostly seen in the drab olive-green hooded combat suit, complete with ballistic protection, and multiple utility pouches and little else, mostly because no one tends to recognise her anyway. Outside of work, she’s usually dressed up in particularly plain clothing, usually dull-coloured tops and trousers. Out of precaution and something of a habit, she is always carrying a knife on her person, either clipped onto her belt, strapped to her ankle, or, in formal occasions, as evidenced once in a party, strapped to her thigh underneath her dress. She has multiple knives of differing variants, and the type she is carrying varies randomly. Her left eye is cybernetic, and is the only part of her that causes her to be registered as a cyborg, much to her own dismay. A devout believer that it would be better off that she remain something of a neutral party than become a target of either affection or hatred, Mercedes has plenty on her mind, but little to siphon to her mouth. After all, she’s being paid to do her job, not mouth off. Besides, no one likes a smartass. To that end, she tends to keep a low profile, but not too low a profile to the point of anti-social behaviour. Her apparent down-to-earth personality from this act and genuine lack of real interest in common entertainment make her extremely plain or, in the worst case, boring. [/div] [div class=mainSubheader] Fatal Flaws [/div] [div class="mainText preserve"] Mercedes has a deep-seated disdain for natural-born ‘talents’, like money, family connections, even genes or, more recently, Astra powers. Her belief of the amount of effort being directly related to the quality of results is shattered by these samesaid people, and she hates that. She shows little to no respect for those who earned their place in life with just good luck and no effort on their part. She has a particularly nasty habit of ‘stab first, ask questions while twisting the knife’. She has no reservations when she’s being professional, and when she threatens to cut someone’s tongue out if they don't talk, she will do it as soon as possible. She isn't bound by religion or moralities of the common man and, though capable of respect and acknowledgement, a job is a job, and she won't feel the slightest bit guilty to shove a knife into one’s trachea. Her beliefs are simple- if one picks up a weapon and wishes to fight, then they are already prepared to die. For one, it is not so much as ‘see’ as it is ‘glance’, as it is limited to up to three seconds into the future. As it is activated by will and is not a passive power, Mercedes is still susceptible to events outside of her expectation, or are too quick for her to be able to put her power to good use. It is also limited to her cone of vision. She reasons that she has to keep up with the times to know who’s who, and it wouldn't be the best for her career if she didn't know who was calling for a hit. Even if it wasn't in her nature or profession to ask or know, knowledge is power, and power intimidates. However, power also attracts undue attention, so it is necessary she keeps her knowledge hidden. It probably doesn't need to be said, but Mercedes is skilled in combat, particularly close-quarters. She can handle most common firearms well, but shows more capability in dismantling them in the hands of an aggressor. She is particularly known for her skill with a knife, enough to earn her the name of Rudra. A combination of agility, limber body, and quick reflexes makes her a hard target to hit, but a harder opponent to dodge. She has significant firearms training and is quite capable with them. Though nothing much to laud about, she has enough knowledge of the current generation of firearms to dismantle them in combat and in another’s hands.
