Boredom. A word that was all too often uttered but seldom warranted. Although to this man it was a word that he had gotten to know all too well. Regardless after a few to many years sitting atop his spoils the drudgery of the days that were sure to followed were simply too much. With that he took his leave and absconded to the earth far from the languish that awaited him back in his own lands.

Now the Devil King lives a life that changes every day, a life that is far from the drudgery that he had left behind. This life is that of a college student, at least that's what the humans call the role that he had settled into in this world. While there were also things that humans would call boring in this life he didn't see them like that. Washing ones laundry was a new experience for the man so even that was a welcome change in the life that he had use to live.

On this day the Devil King-known as Cedric Lucien on this world-finds himself staring at the menu in the local sandwich shop at the university he is currently attending. Since coming to the human world he has made it a thing to try all of their so called foods, after all food wasn't a thing in his own lands...they simply subsisted off of energies. The consumption of other beings or plant matter wasn't something that then needed to do what so ever so they never did. With that in mind he narrowed his eyes at the menu and started to speak to the teller giving his order, "Italian bread with pepperoni, pastrami, ham, bacon, and pepper jack. Toasted. Then lettuce, tomato, onion, hot mustard, hot sauce, pickles, and olives."

The teller simply looked at him with a raised brow for a second, this perhaps the oddest order that she had eve been given before. Regardless she shook her head and went about making the sandwich. Eventually she returned with the sandwich on a plate and handed it over to the man after receiving the payment.

He made his way over to a seat and sat down with the rather odd looking sandwich, although he didn't start eating it right away. Before that he just stared at it for a bit, him then turning it over and looking at it a bit more when it was flipped upside down on the plate. Cocking his head to the side and then nodding he grabbed a pepper shaker and shook it a few times over the sandwich, pepper flakes falling down on it in due course. After all of that he picked up the sandwich and took a bite finally. The people that were in the building all just sort and looked at the handsome looking man with a confused expression.

Name: Serena Lee
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 5'4
Weight: 125 lbs

Like all the others, Serena was staring at the man with concussion as she stood there with her own plate of food which was a simple Italian sub with lettuce and spinach along with cucumber. She honestly didn't think that he could get any weirder, yet she was proven wrong again. She had seen him do some weird things from her brief encounters with him the past few weeks, but those were very brief glances of sorts. Today was the first time that she actually saw things from beginning to now. She wasn't that far behind him in the sandwich line, so she heard his rather strange order. Now to see him do all of that, it was something else. Sure, she knew that there were probably some people out there who would order something strange, but to flip a sandwich upside down and dust it in pepper is something else entirely. "Eating the sub the other way is easier, like not flipped upside down, and putting pepper on the inside would be better, it'd actually stick. Though, can you eat that without burning your mouth and throat? Hot sauce and hot mustard together is not a pleasant combination. Actually, I'm not sure if it should be a combination at all." Serena didn't know why she spoke up, she usually wasn't one to speak up like that, to start a conversation up, but she just felt this urge.

"I'm sorry if I sound rude or anything of the sorts, but it's just... Uhh sorry. You probably don't want to hear words from a complete stranger, but I couldn't help it. Sorry and all. Just a heads up though, that whole combination probably isn't going to taste too good, too much strong flavors going on there." At least that was her opinion on it. She honestly didn't know how he was going to enjoy the sub as she was pretty sure the only taste that was going to stand out was the hot sauce and hot mustard along with the pickles, and maybe the pepperoni a bit. Other than that, she honestly didn't see how anyone could enjoy those tastes together. Just the mere thought of it made her a little sick to her stomach as it made it churn a bit.

Though, she did feel kind of bad for speaking her mind like she did, she didn't want to make him feel judged or anything. She just thought that she should say something, even if it went against her quiet and reserved nature. Serena kept to herself mainly, not liking to draw attention to herself, but she did speak her mind at times. Though, it was usually to stand up for some wrong doing that rubbed her the wrong way in many ways. Other than that, she kept her mouth shut unless she absolutely needed to say something. The only time she was ever a chatter box was to her close friends, which there were few of, but they were the only people who she was truly comfortable and fully open with; she wasn't afraid to let herself loose around them, and that included her mouth.

While he sat there someone just up and made their presence known, it seeming that they had something to say. While they spoke he just sort of stared and ate the sandwich that he had purchased. The first thing he noticed about the woman that was speaking to him was surely that she seemed to know a lot about sandwiched, at least judging by the way she spoke on them. Regardless it seemed that he was now in a conversation with someone he didn't know, conversations up until now only really pertaining to ordering or on things associated with schooling so this was somewhat new to him. Having his sandwich now half eaten he looked to the woman as she finished speaking and simply nodded his head, "I think it needs more hot mustard next time."

Seeing as how he wasn't 'human' it was understandable that his taste-buds wouldn't work like a human's would. Although this was a fact that wasn't know to the young woman so at the moment he would seem like someone with a hell of a tolerance, if not a weird taste in sandwiches. With that in mind he spoke again but this time off of the topic of sandwich preference, "I think I've seen you around before." A short pause followed and then he added with a contemplative nod of his head, "Were you the one who asked for their shoe strings back?" That in itself was another thing entirely as he stole some shoe strings in his early days in this university becasue he thought they were odd.

Since the two of them had similar hair color he was at the moment getting them mixed up a small bit, although at the moment he was looking at the young woman with a slight tilt to his head thinking back on that day trying to remember if it was her...even though it wasn't.
