Enter the mixologist, who just arrived at the bar for his evening shift. As usual, he is the first there, setting up and making sure they are well stocked for the evening. Luckily for him, he remains blissfully unaware of the events about to unfold.

Then comes the singer. She is the second to arrive, having had to get there early in order to set up and run soundcheck for her gig tonight, where she will be performing her songs as well as covers of the latest pop hits. She’s just started performing when everyone else arrives.

The manager arrived with the singer, coming along to make sure everything ran smoothly for her artist. She can now be seen sitting at the bar, nursing a vodka tonic while humming along to the tunes she knows by heart.

The big shot is next, having arrived minutes after the singer’s set started. He doesn’t even pause to listen to the music, just makes a beeline right to the bar. A drink is desperately needed after that mess of a board meeting he just had to suffer through.

Twenty minutes later, and the bar is packed.

The mechanic is currently sitting at the bar, busy swirling his third old-fashioned around in his hand (might want to take it easy there). It had been a stressful day at work and he was looking forward to a relaxing night.

The professor and the meteorologist arrived at the bar together, having come in to the city for a girls night. They had heard that one of their favorite singers was performing at their favorite bar, so decided to make a night of it.

Fresh out of university, the graphic designer has decided to spend his night at Shangri-La, a bar he has made graphics for in the past. He can currently be spotted in the corner of the bar with a drink in hand, watching the performance, with no one to talk to but himself.

The influencer dressed to impress tonight. She came to the bar to support and see the singer, one of her best friends. But, that wasn’t all. She also wanted to impress the big-shot, having found out he was also going to be at the bar. Why not go and kill two birds with one stone?

After a very long day spent dancing, the dancer finally stumbled his way through the doors of Shangri-La and plopped himself down at the bar, turning to watch the performance. It just so happened that he conveniently sat himself in front of the manager of the one performing, completely blocking her view.

[/div] [/div] [div class=name][/div] [div class=textcontainer][div class=text]Long nights were not exactly rare for Hyunwoo. In fact, it would be much more strange to find him cozy in bed anytime before 3 in the morning. He had far too much to do during his days. At least, it felt like he did. A notorious overachiever, Hyunwoo would dance himself into the ground before granting himself the slightest break. That was exactly what he did that day. Rising early in the morning to claim a well trafficked spot, he had been dancing in the streets of Seoul since around 7 in the morning. He paused only briefly in the afternoon for a quick bite to eat. Not to actually enjoy the meal and the downtime--no that’d be much too health for Hyunwoo’s mindset. Food was simply fuel that kept him going.

Though normally his thoughts while he danced were fairly simple and related to improving his moves during the next song, today his brain had decided to torture him. Fleeting thoughts of the mysterious woman from a few days invaded the monotony of his day. Almost ethereal in nature, the woman had left just as quickly as she entered his life. Spectacular, smiling as she dropped a few bills into his tip jar. And then she was gone. Hyunwoo cursed the woman for doing this to him. For distracting him from his number one goal--fame and endless riches. Who gave her the right? Honestly, it was just impolite to be so gorgeous and not say anything.

Of course that night he’d gone home and stayed up far too late, scrolling through Instagram hoping that they had a mutual connection. But fate decided it not be so, and he went to bed in a childish fury. Frustrated that he was successful in tracking her down and professing his undying love for her. Though that would be quite the exaggeration, in the moment he had honestly felt that way. When their eyes met in that short, fleeting moment it was enough to catch Hyunwoo off guard. He remembered it without flaw, stumbling ever-so-slightly over his feet and nearly making a fool out of himself. And by the time he’d gathered himself again and looked up, she was gone. What a shame.

It was now shortly past 9 pm and Hyunwoo ambled down the streets with his hands shoved into his pockets. The frigid air nipped at his nose and cheeks, turning them a bright shade of red. He felt like Rudolph, and the annoyance was clear through his expression.

”Dammit, Hyunnie. What did I say? Bring a coat and gloves. I even left a note on the fridge for you. But no. You forgot.”

Hyunwoo had a habit of thinking aloud and not caring who heard him. He was invisible at the moment anyway, so why did it matter if some strangers on the sidewalk thought he was slightly crazy for mumbling to himself. Luckily for him, his favorite bar was only a short walk away. A nice refuge from the cold, and also somewhere quiet enough for him to be able to think. Shangri-La was quite the hole in the wall, in the best of ways. A gem in Seoul left untainted by most of the people Hyunwoo hated. Though success for the business would be nice, they were doing quite well and always served high-quality drinks and entertainment without the need for all of Seoul to know about it. It was quite nice.

Though this love for the obscure bar was quickly crushed when he opened the door and realized it was quite packed. His normal spot at the bar was claimed by some random man, and Hyunwoo hummed a bit anxiously as he glanced around.

“Ah… What shall I do now?”

Though right as he asked the question a spot opened up at the bar. Or at least, someone left their stool unattended. It was quite likely that they simply went to the restroom but Hyunwoo wasn’t concerned about that. He quickly snatched up the spot. Sighing loudly as his tired legs were finally able to rest. A quick swipe of his hand removed his hood and removed his headphones as well. It wasn’t until that moment that he realized what was going on here. The main act that had turned his favorite bar into quite the circus.

A singer was poised in the most noticeable position, front and center and putting on quite the show. Hyunwoo recognized her easily as Aries. Mostly because he spent a decent amount ranting to a friend of his about how dumb the stage name was. He had no real reason to hate it, but Hyunwoo had always been quite cynical. Though despite his minor gripe, he couldn’t deny that the woman had talent. Not that he was captivated by her or anything, but he certainly wouldn’t mind the background noise if it didn’t come with the crowded venue. He slouched onto the bar a bit and allowed his eyes to scan for the mixologist, hoping it was a face he recognized.

Damn, he needed a drink.

Her darkest days were gone, the threads that tethered her to her own phrenic prison of depressive thoughts severed. Soo-ah had found her smile again, and part of her ambitions that were so ruthlessly crushed by a horrible fabrication. No longer was she stuck in a limbo of just emptiness, her routine having expanded significantly and beyond just eating and sleeping. Thanks to the handful yet unfaltering support, the female regained part of her old spirit. New attempts were made to move on, to reach for the light at the end of the tunnel, and to truly live again. It was an unmistakable challenge, but Soo-ah liked to think she conquered the worst trials and tribulations. Her life, surprisingly enough, went pretty smoothly. Fortune seemed to be in her favour for once, granting her with a commission worth almost a week of living expenses. This, along with some sunny weather, made her commence the day in a blissful state of mind. It also set her into a baking mood and so she went to the store to buy some extra ingredients. It was then when the moment of reality crashing down, chasing away the fleeting feeling of euphoria. The uplifted buoyancy of her heart gave way to a sudden iron-heavy weight, and the breath she took felt so sharp it pained her lungs. Gone was the momentary delusion that all was right with the world and all it took was her eyes to meet those of a ghost of the past. Her ex-boyfriend nonetheless. Their encounter was brief yet long enough to haunt her long afterwards. Soo-ah liked to believe she’d moved on- right until it was clear she hadn’t. Right until she had to stem the tide of despondent tears from welling in her eyes, right until she couldn’t erase the picture of his face forming into one of slight disgust after the initial expression of surprise. Right until she spotted a wedding ring on his finger. Soo-ah had fled the store almost immediately and practically ran till her feet reached her doorstep. She locked herself back in her apartment and spent the rest of the afternoon withdrawn from the rest of society. It was pathetic in many ways, but she could not help it. Just like that, her mind was barraged with intrusive thoughts, memories and images of the past assaulting her once again. It was frustrating -- she was frustrated. After all these years, that person still managed to evoke such emotions even though he was completely undeserving of it. He was the one that abandoned her when she needed him the most, the one choosing the believe a rumour over his own girlfriend. She should’ve been glad to have lost such a fickle person along the way….yet…. all she felt was sadness. Soo-ah did bake something that day – though her distraught mood did lead to a rather sorrowful decoration. It was at that time when the doorbell rang. Confused yet surprised, the woman had walked up to the door and opened it, revealing one of her close friends with both wine and some rice cakes in her hands. No words were exchanged, Iseul’s motive was clear enough by the look on her face, and Soo-ah had to fight a smile when welcoming her into the house. The two females had grown close over the past one and a half years, especially bonding due to mutual painful experiences from scandals and cruelty of others. It pained Soo-ah to hear about the woman’s horrible experiences throughout primary and high school, considering how sweet and caring Iseul was. Not to mention that she had proven to be an invaluable friend to her; always showing up when Soo-ah secretly needed someone. Today was no exception and the women spent the rest of early evening chatting away, before deciding to finish the day off on a high note by going to the Shangri-la where Aries would be performing. Everything went well – right until Soo-ah entered the hole-in-the-wall-bar to find the place absolutely packed. Her anxiety rose at the sight, tying her stomach into knots, and all she could do was think about one thing: what if she bumped into someone from university? The thing that attracted Soo-ah the most about Shangri-la was how unknown it was to the general public. She could go there just as Soo-ah and not the disgraced professor who, supposedly, had an affair with a student. It should’ve been expected really; the performer of the night had amassed quite a following. Still, she didn’t expect so many people. Eyes fixed upon the crowd, the woman sidestepped as to not block the entrance whilst desperately trying to calm her heart. Luckily, another friendly face was there, and Soo-ah felt a little more at ease when noticing Min Jae behind the bar. Her lips curved into a smile and she turned her head back to Iseul. “Let’s go order some drinks.” she said, before starting to make her way through the crowd. It took a bit of manoeuvring but ultimately, she reached the bar and patiently waited for their turn. A small sigh left her lips as her eyes scanned the mass that had gathered together to watch the famed singer perform. "I do hope this is only a one-time-event-crowd..." She mumbled, right before being shoulder bumped by a passing patron. As selfish as it was, the last thing Soo-ah wanted was for her beloved bar to turn into a hotspot. [/div] [div class=role]the influencer[/div] [div class=name]hana.[/div] [div class=nameo]hana.[/div] [/div] [div class=body][div class=scroll]the day had been productive, but dreadfully so. she'd signed an agreement to model a new clothing line and gotten new sponsors, but she'd also spent at least half of the day slaving on her assignments for school. psychology was interesting, but the schoolwork was tedious at best, soul-draining at worst. hana'd planned this little night out early on, and when the time came to start getting ready, hana was grateful to finally take her eyes off of her computer screen.

she'd donned an appropriate outfit with a sexy-but-modest skirt, and now she was making her way towards her favourite hole-in-the-wall bar. hana quickened her step, turning with expert navigation on a well-worn route. she frequented shangri-la, after all, but with her shoes cutting into her ankles, it was difficult to walk fast. she was a little late, too. hana hated being late. the flickering sign of [i[shangri-la[/i] greeted her as she rounded a corner, and she gave it a small smile as a greeting. the bar had quickly become her go-to after her first encounter with it through minjoo. it was tucked into an odd bit of town, but it only made the company that much more exclusive.

and company she would find, she thought to herself as she entered. her mind drifted back to her sister's engagement party, just 2 weeks ago; particularly, the man she'd become acquainted with through the groom-to-be. of course, she was here mostly for ae-ri, but a little bird had told her he frequented the bar as well, and here she was, in her most uncomfortable shoes. just for him. partially. he'd better have shown up.

hana'd made it just in time for the start of what was hopefully aries' first song, weaving expertly through the crowd to get a good view with her phone. her followers adored her friendship with ae-ri, and hana adored being adored. "i'm your biggest fan!" hana typed on the video, then paused and tagged the other girl for good measure. aries might add it to her story, but at the very least she would know hana'd showed up to support her. the clip was posted in moments, and hana looked up, glancing around for her next priority. her eyes finally flitted to the bigshot himself, looking somewhat miserable at the bar while nursing a half-filled glass. just how she liked them.

[div class=dialogue]"mr. seo,"[/div] she greeted as she approached, offering a sweet smile, [div class=dialogue]"what a coincidence!"[/div] hana leaned lightly on the seat directly adjacent to him, her body angled towards the vacant bar stool. [div class=dialogue]"i hope you haven't forgotten me, even if it's been a while since we've met."[/div] hana was positive he'd remember her, but she was prepared to introduce herself anyways. she wasn't about to just back down. in her head, she ran through her objectives, or, objective for the night: trade contacts. she'd be good to go from there.

But she already was used to the chaotic life that was being the manager of a rising singer, but that didn't mean things got easier, in fact, she could say it got more demanding as the fame of Aries grew up. The day of the presentation was for sure the most hectic of all week making sure that Aries was on time for everything and still make sure that everything was set on Shangri-la. It wouldn't be until Aries was done with her performances that Kyuri would actually feel that she could finally relax completely. Thankfully once they made it to shangri-la and Kyuri made sure to check for the last time was ready and after that, she knew it was time to relax once she saw Aries start singing. A drink would help her to relax and de-stress for the crazy week she had. At that moment Kyuri was glad that Aries presentation was on Shangri-la she loved the place and when she needed to get away from her routine that would be the place where you could find her. With a drink on hand, she made sure to enjoy Aries performance and sing along with her favorite songs, but Kyuri still had one last task as a manager, she needed to take pictures of Aries performing to upload to her social media. As she started taking pictures she felt happy to see the girl that was almost like a little sister to her at this point be able to achieve her dreams, Aries was meant to be on a stage and even if she was a little bit sad since she didn't have the same luck she was set to make anything she could to help Aries to become even more successful. It wasn't until someone sat up in front of her that it covered her from being able to take pictures of the singer, she didn't want to make uncomfortable the guy who was in front of her since he was allowed to be there just like her, but since it was her job that was being interfered she knew she needed to say something, she was only hoping that the guy wouldn't think that she was a crazy fan she was just fulfilling her job as manager. "Excuse me, sorry for interrupting you but I need to take photos of Aries is kind of my job, so would you mind moving to another seat?" She said trying not to sound like she was annoyed. If there was one thing Yejun didn't need at ass o'clock in the morning after forgetting his dark roast coffee on the dining table and nearly meeting his maker at the hands of an intern bent on carrying a desk up the main stairs by himself, it was the onslaught of e-mails from several departments in the company raising complaints about every issue known to man. This wouldn't usually get under his skin so easily, being a near daily occurence at the massive hive of a building, but after skimming through the subject lines of the top dozen, a tense and majorly pissed-off Yejun had some urgent complaints of his own.

Safe to say, that board meeting didn't go as well as the COO had planned.

With every name being adding to his shit list fresh on his mind and a cold cup of horrendously brewed coffee stagnating in his gloved hand, Yejun stormed out of the building towards Gangnam station, fully intending to channel some of his frustrations through a healthy round of kickboxing at his favorite gym. There was technically one connected to the office building that many of his employees frequented, but he knew he'd never get rid of any of his stress with their faces constantly looming in sight.

Besides—not to toot his own horn or anything—he wasn't in the mood to deal with wandering eyes, and when he wasn't done up in his business suit, people tended to stare.

At the last second, however, Yejun remembered a certain dingy bar he used to frequent before this last quarter blasted his careful schedule to bits. When he was in university, he and his buddies used to spend every other weekend trying disgustingly innovative concoctions at Shangri-La, despite the patient owner's warnings against the flavor. He'd been far more relaxed during those years, never needing to study due to his natural aptitude for the material. The place held many sentimental memories for him, and he couldn't imagine any place he'd rather be at the moment.

After a quick stop to his apartment to ditch the blazer and laptop bag, Yejun headed out again, garnering attention on the metro with his dark yet clean fit. He was already feeling better than he had half an hour ago, enough so that he could revel in the attention just a little bit more than usual. By the time he got to the bar, he found himself relaxed enough to greet the familiar bouncer with a smirk and a nod of the head, not having to present an ID due to being a regular. There seemed to be somewhat of a crowd, presumably due to the live entertainment of the evening, but Yejun couldn't be bothered to appreciate the vocal talent of the young lady on stage as he snaked his way towards the bar.

"Minjae-ssi," Yejun called out, dropping his elite sapphire card on the counter and tapping his knuckles on it twice to get the bartender's attention in the noisy area. "My usual, if you could." Usually he'd have some sort of quip ready to piss off the jaded mixologist, but the day had been hellish and he had no plans on wasting any more energy on trivial jests when he could be sipping on a basil hayden old-fashioned instead.

Before he could second guess his decision to be civil to Minjae, a voice cut in as a somewhat familiar face leaned in next to him. At first, Yejun wasn't entirely positive where he recognized her from, but as soon as she spoke her saccharine lines, the memory resurfaced. "Ah, of course," he acknowledged, a casual smirk tugging at one corner of his mouth. "Hana, was it? You didn't make it easy to forget." Yejun let his gaze brazenly run down her form, fully aware of what she was doing and deciding to play along for the time being. "Care for a drink?"

Shangri-La was the bar that pretty much launched her career, the bar that made her known to millions around the world, the bar she found herself walking back into after completing her first international headlining tour. Life worked in pretty amazing ways.

Due to traffic, she'd arrived a little later than she would have liked to, but it was okay. Luckily, she had Kyuri, her manager, and Minho, her brother, both there to help her set up. Minho oversaw all of the production, front-of-house and technical stuff while Kyuri was just making sure everything ran smoothly. Luckily, it did, and she finished sound checking just minutes before doors opened. The timing sort of sucked because she wanted to greet old friends before the show started, but now she'd have to wait until intermission or after it ended. Oh well.

By the time she'd finished her fifth song, the place was packed to the brim. Deciding that now would be a good time to take a break, Aries stood and spoke into the mic, "Going to take a little break. Be back soon!" Then she was off.

Her first order of business was to find Minjae, the one person she'd consider her best friend. She knew he'd be behind the bar since a) he is, in fact, a bartender and b) there was no way he wasn't working on a night like tonight. So, with that in mind, she set off for the bar.

It didn't take long to spot him zooming around behind the counter, intent on serving as many patrons as he could. Chuckling to herself, she ducked under the wood of the counter and started walking towards him. Most people would be kicked out of the bar for doing something like this, but she'd known Minjae long enough to know that there would be no threat of her getting kicked out. If he tried to, well, she'd fight him.

Aries knew he hadn't spotted her yet, or else he would've said something. Good. This would be fun. She soon found herself standing right behind him and without a seconds hesitation, she threw her arms around him in a back hug and pressed her face into his shoulder. "Hi," was all she said for a while. "Missed you."

"Sunbaenim!"

Turning on her heels, the sunkissed haired female paused in her steps. Looking over her shoulders, a gentle smile etched across her rosy lips before she gave a small wave, "Is everything okay, Jangmi?"

Catching her breath, the young intern quickly nodded, "Y. .yes. Jeong Iseulssi will... .will you take a look at my report?" She inquired hastily, not wasting any time.

"Of course, when is the final product due?"

"In one week!" Jangmi announced excitedly, before bowing her head profusely in gratitude.

Surprised, Iseul nodded, feeling slightly awkward in the middle of the hallway as Jangmi continued to exclaim her thanks. She found the young intern endearing and hardworking, however, her uncomfortableness grew. Wanting to be polite, the older woman lightly rested a hand on the female's shoulder, helping her to stand up-right. It was more comfortable speaking to someone at eye-level rather than the back of their head. Nevertheless, Iseul couldn't help laughing softly. The younger female reminded her of herself, filled with unbounded ambitions and hopes for the future.

The walks from Tae Song news station to her apartment complex brought back bittersweet memories. Iseul couldn't remember the last time she was able to dilly-dally going from one place to the next. Her internship days were busy from morning to night and even if she managed to get home early, other work and research piled on. Regardless, due to her determination and hard work, her reward and recognitions were worth the sleepless night.

If Iseul had to name one person she was appreciative of, it would be the constant support she received from her Appa. At the same time, her neighbors were nothing but kind to her, inviting her over for dinner, and sometimes, providing her with kimchi. However, it never crossed her mind that she'd grow close to another person. While Iseul met Soo-ah in passing around their apartment, it wasn't until Iseul noticed Soo-ah at a hole-in-the-wall neon-lit bar called Shangri-la. The two hit it off quickly as it felt as if they were kindred spirits who knew each other in their past lives.

Currently, however, throughout the day, So-so's responses to her text messages felt different. Iseul prided herself on being able to tell tone via face-to-face and phone exchanges. Despite Iseul's concern and acknowledgment that something must have happened to cause So-so's mood to change, Iseul didn't force So-so to tell her. Instead, Iseul invited herself over to her apartment for a pick-me-up. Disregarding any notions of So-so's attempt at reassuring her that she was okay, Iseul marched right up to So-so's front door. But, before she could knock, her phone rang in her hand.

"Appa!" She called, picking up as she used her shoulders to balance her phone from falling off her ears.
"Oh! Iseul-a? Did you eat yet?"
"Ye! I'm at Soo-ah's apartment. We're having tteokbokki!"
"Eat well, okay? Come and visit me soon, mm?"
"Mm, soon!"

At those words, Iseul said her good-byes and hung up. With a deep breath, Iseul gently knocked on the door as she awaited So-so's answer. Once the door opened and revealed her friend, Iseul quickly lifted the bag of tteokbukki smiling widely as her facial expressions greeted So-so with a look that said: "I'm here!"

As fluidly as she could, Iseul maneuvered herself through the crowd as she made sure her pinky was gently wrapped around So-so's pinky in case they lost each other in the masses. While Iseul didn't take 'no' for an answer and did her best to cheer up So-so, the one main expression Iseul wanted from her friend was a genuine smile. Although she was able to get a few small laughs here and there when they played 'Pictionary' or when she mocked the good-for-nothing bastard in the apartment, she wanted So-so to let go of her worries. So, when Iseul heard that Aries, one of their favorite singers, decided to perform at their beloved bar Shangri-la, Iseul knew they had an obligation to go! It was perfect.
6OsWpaG.png
However, what Iseul didn't have in mind was the massive crowd that Aries pulled in. Iseul planned on asking her sometime that night if she could interview her, however, Iseul wondered if her manager would allow that. Nevertheless, as Iseul's eyes scanned the area, it seems as if her plans would have to be on the back-burner. Iseul caught a glimpse of Aries' blonde-hair flowing near the bar only to watched Aries' interaction with Minjae. With furrowed brows, Iseul judged that Aries could do better.

At hearing So-so's words, “Let’s go order some drinks." Iseul nodded, bringing her attention back towards her friend as they navigated the crowd. But, as a patron's shoulder bumped into So-so, Iseul frowned, quickly moving next to So-so as Iseul placed herself at an angle where it's easiest for So-so to move and no one could bump or cause her to trip over.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think it would be this jam-packed." She gently said, slightly pouting. "As much as I want Shangri-La to have the spotlight, this is ridiculous." Iseul sighed, not liking the idea that So-so's mood could dampen due to them being packed in like sardines. "Once we get our drinks, let's shake off the cobwebs and dance, okay? I'm determined to make this the best girl's night out ever!" Iseul winked, attempting to liven the mood up once again.

As the two neared, Iseul was dreading every moment of interactions with Minjae. Her only light was being with So-so and a chance to officially meet Aries. No matter how much she ached her heart to stop beating erratically whenever she saw Minjae, it wouldn't listen to her. Whether her heart thumped due to unresolved anger and frustration or if it meant something more, Iseul didn't care to entertain those thoughts. "Will you order for us? I think you'd have a better chance of catching the bartender's attention!" She winked, playfully batting her eye-lashes at So-so.

However, before Iseul could stop herself, she recognized another familiar silhouette sitting in the bar at the far corner where it would be easiest to order drinks. "Kkyu!" She called out to him, fully knowing well he couldn't hear her through the loud noise.

Turning towards So-so, Iseul grinned widely, "Should we go over? He looks like he could use some company." She inquired, pointing towards the vicinity Kkyu was located. Tilting her head to the side, Iseul wondered if there was something wrong. Regardless of what it was, Iseul wanted to be with both of her friends right now, wanting to strictly ignore that person as long as she could.

Before Iseul slowly made her way towards him, Iseul's thoughts ran a mile a minute before she paused in her steps, grinning at So-so. "Before I forget to tell you. . . you look great!"

Once Iseul reached the other side of the bar she waited for a moment before leaning into his ears as she grinned mischievously, "Boo!" She exclaimed, giggling before taking a few steps back. "Found you, Kkyu-ya!"

Nothing could stop and calm Minjae's nerves this morning. For, a lot of people were going to be at the one place that he felt at home: Shangri-La. To top it all off, his close friend is a celebrity, so her fans were going to be there, which meant that he had to mentally prepare himself for what could come because he wasn't entirely sure what to expect.

Preparing himself for tonight, Minjae turned on his living room television before making his way to the bedroom. In the background the immediate sound of the morning news was on, as well as the soft sound of this morning's anchor's voice playing in the background. It was just what he needed to start the morning off as he got ready. Pulling out a travel bag, Minjae packed an extra toothbrush, two spare shirts and an extra pair of jeans for tonight, along with his favorite bottle of cologne that he had picked up at the drug store. Once he was sure he had everything he'd need, he pulled his outfit out of the closet and laid it out on his bed.

Typically, Minjae would be the type to wake up, go to work, and repeat, but for today he had actually decided to be a normal human being and wake up two hours earlier than the usual. Heading towards his bathroom now, he began his typical routine of brushing his teeth, washing his face, and flossing. After feeling refreshed, Minjae heard tended to the thick dark strands of hair that fell in front of his face with his comb. Once he was pleased with the finishing result of his facial appearance, he double checked his teeth before heading back to his bedroom so he could get dressed.

He didn't really have anything specific planned, so a part of him debated on whether or not he should go to Shangri-La early, or prepare something nice for one of his friends.

"I wonder what So-so is up to," he mumbled. Pulling out his phone he had stared down at her contact and debated on whether or not he should call her.

She might be busy. Should I bother her?

Glancing back at the television, Minjae watched as a meteorology segment came onto the screen, and of course it was with Iseul presenting today's weather report on a loop. He hadn't realized that he was staring, he hadn't realized that he spent a few minutes watching her as she talked and strutted across the platform. She looked pretty. Shaking his head, almost as if to prevent him from going too far with thoughts he didn't want to have, he decided to go against calling Soo-ah. He would ultimately see her at the bar anyways. So, of course, on that note, he made his way out the door, turning the television off on the way out. Might as well just find something to do to pass time.

Later that evening . . .

The neighborhood that Minjae had lived in was a pretty safe, pastel-esque middle-class neighborhood. The type of neighborhood that you saw in dramas more often than not. Rock walls, brick walls, polished streetlights, and groomed lawns; homes with christmas lights dangling from youthful windows. Oddly enough, Minjae's home was the only one that was bland in all of its sweet, small, old-fashioned glory. By the time Minjae had finished locking the iron gate that belonged to his small, and rather quaint two story home, a pair of young school girls and their friends had passed him by. It seemed as though they had just finished with their after-school activities and looking at them, a part of him felt as though he was missing something. While the children barely acknowledged him, the teenagers wasted zero time waving at him. Their flirtatious gazes, giggles, and stumbles causing him to nod his head politely as he greeted them with an audible, "Hello." As they giggled some more, he took several long strides down the street, the bag he prepared earlier that morning dangling off of one shoulder. It wasn't long before he was being greeted by his number one baby girl: Sunny. She was parked in a designated residential parking spot, the only one that was farthest away from the elementary school in the opposite direction. Lifting the tarp, he admired his baby's raven paint job before he picked up a matching helmet. His bare fingers ran across the yellow sun he had painted on it, tracing the picture of a detailed star as he let out a long sigh. Based off of the report, the weather was going to be cold tonight, so this wasn't the sort of weather for him to ride her. "I missed you, jibiya!" Kissing the helmet, Minjae patted his bike like a doting father before turning around to toss the helmet in his car. Having made sure both his car was locked and without any accidental damages that he could barely afford, he turned to his bike and made sure she was okay too before he made the trip down to Shangri-La.

It wasn't a long walk, and he lived not too far from it. In fact, he managed to make it record time seeing as the moment he had opened the back door the first flurry fell.

The night was already at its peak.

Twenty minutes in and Shangri-La was alive. Luckily, it was big enough to accommodate to at least a good majority of it's current flow. However, with one of the bartenders having called in late, Minjae has been put to work as small beads of sweat began to formulate at the back of his neck. All of the attention Minjae was currently receiving from the females inside had really put him in his element, but they were also seriously ticking him off. He had already lost count of the rounds of females that came to his bar pointlessly asking for refills on drinks that some of them hadn't even finished. It was a waste.

Regardless, the twenty six year old had paced so many times that the endorphins kicking in kept the smile on his face throughout the night. In fact, it was so busy that he was actually glad he had brought a change of clothes to accommodate to the flow of tonights crowd.

"Minjae-ssi," called an all too habitually infernal man behind him followed by a common rap. Looking over his shoulder, the one person that could actually make the smile on his face fall locked eyes with him. "My usual, if you could." Glancing at the card and then back at it's owner, Minjae debated on whether or not he had wanted to respond to the elitist as he prepared a cocktail for another one of his customers. While he was in the midst of shaking the cocktail shaker, Minjae's hair flipped as he surveyed the crowd of people. It totally was wasn't as if he was looking for anybody in particular, but a part of him felt as though he gave himself away as he handed the finished beverage to the waiting customer on the opposite end of the bar.

Turning around now, he was pleasantly surprised to see Hana at the bar, but disappointed to learn that she had her sights set on Yejun. Rather than approaching the pair, Minjae began to prepare Yejun's 'usual'. Obviously irate and tense, Minjae casually ignored the useless calls the wasteful females made towards him, heavily intent on finishing the drink so he could approach Hana before feeling a pair of familiar small hands wrap around his waist. "Hi," she said, and he didn't know what it was. Agitation, possible exhaustion, or joy? Whatever it was, just knowing that Aries was here, and holding him made him relax. He practically melted like butter the moment she had told him that she "missed," him.

Although, it still didn't take away from his jealousy as he glanced back at Hana and dreadfully watched her interact with Yejun.

"Ah," he sighed, "I missed you too." Turning around, he hugged her back, ignoring the ever curious looks from passerby's as he rested his chin on her head. "How've you been? You sounded amazing up there," although he was just barely paying attention to her music seeing as the throng of people was his main focus and prime concern.

The familiar burn of ninety-proof liquor down his throat brought an oddly masochistic sense of comfort to Kyuhyun as he sipped on his third glass of bourbon that night, the temporary heat distracting from the deadweight of responsibilities pressing down on his shoulders. Not many things had gone in his favor as of late, especially with the sudden influx of issues with some newer aircrafts imported to the army base that he'd had the pleasure of sending back one after another until only a handful of functional planes remained.

Needless to say, it had been a stressful week. Alcohol was in order, and he'd challenge anyone who disagreed to a thumb war.

When Kyuhyun had first arrived at Shangri-La before the start of Aries' set around sunset, not too many folks hung around aside from the regular patrons. Within the span of half an hour, however, the mechanic found himself crowded into a corner at the counter where he was once lounging comfortably across two stools. He knew Aries was popular, but he had never bothered to look into how popular.

Just as a tipsy Kyuhyun opened his mouth to ask Minjae for yet another drink, an exclamation chiming right beside his ear sent him jerking to the side, nearly tumbling off his barstool until he gripped the counter to catch himself. "So you wanna die, do y—oh, Iseul-noona," he greeted as his tone changed from one of exasperation to pleasant surprise. Kkyu couldn't lie—he'd always found Iseul to be hard to look away from, but he'd be damned if he was caught slipping within five seconds of talking to her. "You're here to see Aries perform, right? She seriously drew in a crowd." He paused before continuing, gaze shifting to the side. "You—that outfit looks really good. On you, I mean. It, uh, it looks good on you."

He could really have gone for a shot of cyanide and karmic justice right about then.

[/div] [/div] [div class=name][/div] [div class=textcontainer][div class=text]Though the temperatures outside were consistently lowering as time went on, it only grew warmer inside Shangri-La. Hyunwoo was apparently already considerable late and yet still people continued to pile into the bar. Much too close for his liking as well. The welcome cool of the bartop against his forehead--Hyunwoo decided it’d be best for his sanity to not consider the number of germs that bred there--was unfortunately interrupted much too soon for his own liking. The bar itself became impossibly crowded, and the young man had to sit up in order to prevent bumping elbows with the people on either side of him.

This new position forced him to give his attention once more to the Wonderful, Majestic, Amazing, Fantastical Aries. She sang effortlessly and apparently without nerves. Hyunwoo would’ve been impressed if he wasn’t so bitter. Why did Shangri-La pick her over him to perform? Like she needed the easy publicity. He came here consistently, often lamenting about how tough his days were to Minjae. And yet he was apparently skipped over when they had a discussion about who should perform there. Yes, Hyunwoo would have some words with the young bartender. His eyes scanned for the man once more and he sighed annoyed when he saw that he was busy with another person.

Obviously, Hyunwoo was already on edge, so when a soft voice spoke up behind him his shoulders tensed and he shook his head incredulously.

"Excuse me, sorry for interrupting you but I need to take photos of Aries is kind of my job, so would you mind moving to another seat?"

“Ah, you paparazzi are so insistent. Do you think another person isn’t taking pictures for you to drool and fantasize over? Can I not be comfortable in my own chair? Instead of asking me to move, you should simply grow a few more inches. That has a higher chance of actually happening.”

Hyunwoo had shifted slightly so that his words could be heard by the woman who had bothered him. Normally he’d have left it at that, but he was feeling particularly moody tonight. This poor woman had made herself into a target for all of Hyunwoo’s frustrations. He turned more, this time actually facing her before he began to speak again.

“Additionally, I think-”

Hyunwoo stopped abruptly as if someone grabbed him by the throat. His eyes widened in surprise ever so slightly and an odd, strangled sound emitted from deep in his throat. Fate’s cruel hand had cruelly placed the woman of his desires behind him. Testing him likely, and certainly Hyunwoo’s bitchiness had caused him to fail. Luckily for him at least, he wasn’t one to get embarrassed easily. Instead, he had a knack for clumsily covering up previous insults. This certainly was not the first time that his stubborn behavior had backed him into quite the awkward corner.

“Additionally, I think I should make it clear that I am joking. I’ve been told by many women that my dry sense of humor is my best attribute,” he lied awkwardly and obviously. Hyunwoo’s last romantic venture was not full of compliments of any sort, but he couldn’t resist the internal urge to fabricate a picture of himself that was much more likeable.

“Have we met before? You look quite familiar. I’m Hyunwoo.” He was testing her now, evident by the somewhat intense look in his eyes as they bore into her own. If she didn’t remember him, he would take it as the greatest offense in mankind’s history. After all, their chemistry in the first moment was undeniable… At least to him it was. However, if she did remember him Hyunwoo would know then that his feelings were mirrored by her.

Hyunwoo had never been known for his rational ultimatums.

Jae Han had parked himself in his favourite corner of the bar, one that usually gave him a clear view of the whole room and his designs, but tonight that view was ruined by the sizable crowd that flooded the room. This was definitely not what he had in mind for today. A sigh escaped him as he downed the remains of his drink and recalled the events that had occurred earlier that evening.

Damn Jung Woo and his "you need a break and we need to celebrate our graduation from uni." The whole thing had just been a ploy by his roomie to get him out of the apartment so he could have the place for him and his girlfriend Ji Yeon to celebrate. He should have realised something was up long before they stepped through the doors of Shangri- La and Jung Woo pulled up saying he just got an important message from Ji Yeon and had to go but insisted he stay at the bar and celebrate for him too. His crafty roommate had made sure to wait till they'd seated at the bar and he'd ordered him an expensive drink before bolting for his romantic escapade. Thanks to that Jae Han had been sitting at the bar since before the crowd came in to hear Aries sing and he'd probably be sitting here long after they dispersed unless he wanted to risk walking in on the couple that had taken over the apartment. His laptop and materials were all in the apartment too so he wouldn't be getting any more work done tonight and it was making his fingers itch. Ever since that scandal surrounding Prof Min and her refusal to accept his help, he'd been throwing himself into his work to try and distract himself from the case. Sure he'd probably skipped one too many meals and had a couple more sleepless nights than he should have but he'd needed that. Definitely health wise he needed this break but the workaholic in him hated that Jung Woo had stopped him from spending the night pouring over his designs and commission requests. Aries' appearance at the bar, or rather her music, made his eviction more palatable but the crowd definitely did not. He'd wanted to at least enjoy the view of his designs, study them and maybe draw some inspiration or reimagine his work but as it stood he could barely see across the room. On the one hand it was great if it led to more people seeing his work and potentially more commissions but tonight he was more irritated than anything. The scandal about Prof Min had really thrown him out of sorts. Jung Woo had even asked him if he had feelings for her at one point because of how passionate his response to the scandal had been when it broke. Sure he respected Prof Min and admired her greatly and that had contributed to his response but it had been more because he hated any sort of injustice not because he held secret feelings for her. It'd hurt when she'd refused to accept his help and though she'd never said anything about it, he couldn't help but wonder if part of the reason she'd turned him down was because he was only a young and unreliable 22 year old in her eyes who couldn't be counted on to help. After all his age had certainly been used as an excuse before, detestable as he found it to be, and with how often he'd heard it, he wouldn't be surprised, if disappointed, if Prof Min had felt that way too. Shaking away those bitter thoughts, Jae Han turned his attention back to the couple that had robbed him of his distractions with their takeover of the apartment.

"If they accidentally pull out the power cord or make a mess of my materials again I swear I'm going to hang Jung Woo upside down and make him foot the rent for the next two months." Jae Han muttered as he absent mindedly surveyed the room. He could still remember that horrifying moment last valentine's when he'd agreed to Jung Woo's request to have Ji Yeon over for the night since he was going to be out till the next day for work and he'd returned to a warzone of which his project had been a casualty amongst other things. He'd be damned if the same thing happened all over again.

Jae Han was contemplating how to spend the rest of the night so time could pass as quickly as possible when a brief commotion from a few seats away caught his attention. Poor fellow had been caught off guard by a bright eyed woman and he cracked a sympathetic smile at the sight. He could relate somewhat to the poor man seeing as his own roommate had pulled a fast one on him tonight. At least his surprise seemed to be a pleasant one, if only he could say the same Jae Han frowned and rose ever so slightly from his seat. That flash of strawberry blonde hair he'd seen behind the couple, could that possibly be? No, there was no way, it was probably because he'd just been thinking about her, after all hair that colour wasn't that uncommon. The face of the figure came into view and Jae Han popped off his seat, his body moving faster than his head as he neared them. His eyes hadn't been playing tricks on him after all. It was her. "Prof Min?" He started, offering a faint smile. "It's good to see you. I didn't know you visited places like this. Is this your first time at Shangri-La?"

Kyuri wouldn't let those thoughts to interrupt her job she needed to take some photos of Aries performing so they could upload them to her social media that way her fans could be happy and expect a new presentation or get excited and speculate that she would release new music soon, those photos were the last part of her job for the night and she would have it done if that the guy in front of her didn't cover her view. She asked him politely if he could move to another seat, probably not the wisest thing since the guy was just minding his own business and Kyuri was interrupting him, but she expected that the guy would be considerate and would understand her situation. Instead, the response the Kyuri received wasn't the one she expected, at that moment she knew she had messed up and have made the guy angry. “Ah, you paparazzi are so insistent. Do you think another person isn’t taking pictures for you to drool and fantasize over? Can I not be comfortable in my own chair? Instead of asking me to move, you should simply grow a few more inches. That has a higher chance of actually happening.” Kyuri was taken back she didn't know how to act or what to reply, the guy in front of her seemed annoyed by the request of Kyuri, it seemed that the guy had more to say to her, but once they were facing each other he stopped to talk, the reaction of the guy was something from being annoyed he was surprised, but Kyuri didn't have a clue why he would be surprised to see her at that moment, the silence between them felt awkward and even if it only lasted like one second until the guy got back his composure and talk again. “Additionally, I think I should make it clear that I am joking. I’ve been told by many women that my dry sense of humor is my best attribute,” The addition of the last part of what he was saying made Kyuri even more confused than she already was. First, he seemed annoyed by her presence and now he was flirting with her, that was something she wasn't expecting at all and it made her be more lost in this situation. And when she less was expecting it, the guy introduced himself now the stranger had a name and it was Hyunwoo and supposedly they have seen each other before, while Hyunwoo seemed confident that they have seen each other before Kyuri didn't have any memory of meeting him before. She was sure he wasn't a choreographer or the assistant of one that had worked with Aries before. Maybe a dancer that she forgot about that worked with them? But she couldn't remember someone named Hyunwoo between the regular dancers that were part of Aries crew and he didn't look like part of the crew of sound or even part of the team of stylists. Was he a boyfriend of any of her college friends and she just forgot about him? Although he looked a couple of years younger and she hasn't received any news of her friends dating someone new. Even if she tried to dig into her brain and remember all the persons she knew, there wasn't anyone that resembled Hyunwoo at all. Was she about to crash his expectations that somehow, they had some history? Probably yes, but he seemed so sure that they knew each other that part of her didn't want to break the truth to him, but lying and getting the wrong story could make things even worse than telling that she didn't have a clue who he was. "Oh! We didn't saw each other the other day in that crowded street? I could barely walk between the ocean of people that surrounded me" She lied trying to keep things vague hoping that he would believe her and trying to change the subject to something else that didn't involve their encounter, seeing someone on the street on a regular day was normal, right? "hana, was it?" she felt herself relax slightly at his words. her task had become just that bit easier. indeed it is! but if you'll be calling me hana, mr. seo is a little too formal, isn't it?" she'd been tempted to just ask for 'oppa', but hana wasn't quite sure if that was his thing. he probably had women throwing themselves all over him most given moments, and hana had to be cautious. seem too desperate and she'd get kicked aside very quickly. "when you said you frequented the bar, i didn't expect i would run into you this soon! small world." nevermind that she'd casually asked jae-min about it. he'd quite willingly given up the intel, and hana had heard from eunyoung he found the younger yoon sister rather charming, thankfully.

he made no attempt to hide his roaming eyes, and hana felt a comfortable blush spread across her cheeks as he gave her a once-over. as... goal-oriented as she was, yejun was undeniably attractive. what a bonus. eunyoung had won the lottery for her by getting engaged. "only from you," she replied cheekily, taking his response as an invitation to occupy the adjacent barstool. "surprise me."

she felt a gaze on her and turned, catching minjae's eye. the bartender she was acquainted with, yet not quite. they were friends, but it wasn't like she particularly liked him or anything. in fact, hana was most courteous to him because she wanted well-made drinks or discounts, but admittedly she'd gotten closer to him than she'd originally anticipated. she was about to offer a half-smile when aries, in all her endless enthusiasm and bouncing blonde ponytail, rammed directly into his back into a hug. she felt more than somewhat slighted that aries hadn't greeted her, and neither had minjae. had they always been that close? she glanced away, redirecting her attention back to yejun and dismissing the pair entirely. no need to waste her energy on getting their attention, since all she really needed was that story repost from ae-ri. besides, the two made a good match, as she did with her new partner, she supposed. there was no room for agitation when she had a very handsome, very rich man sitting in front of her, a hint of a wolfish glint in his eyes.

seo yejun. head of partnerships in x company and possibly the most eligible bachelor in the city, for good reason. he had wealth, connections, and looks that could kill; hana wasn't cringing at the thought of bedding the man. indeed, her smile was much more suited for him. "forgive me for saying so, but it feels like the almighty seo yejun is looking a little worse for wear. still very attractive, but a little gloomy." her tone was playful, with a touch of concern that she hoped wasn't lost on him. "this atmosphere hardly warrants misery."

An introvert by nature, the woman had always been drawn towards more serene environments rather than spots where you could not as much walk normally lest you wanted to avoid body to body confrontation. Her public ‘fall from grace’ only amplified that, anxiety summiting whenever there were so many faces within such little space. It daunted her, made her stomach churn in discomfort, and Soo-ah slowly became acutely aware of the exit’s growing allure. Would it be too cowardly to leave..? Soo-ah had not noticed that she was looking towards the exit until Iseul’s voice caused her to drag her gaze away from the door and back to her friend. Iseul’s apology made her heart swell, a feeling of absolute gratitude washing over her as she once again encountered her friend’s mindfulness of others. Her following words of encouragement managed to gain Soo-ah a new brand of confidence, one that allayed the anxiety in the mind and fuelled a determination to make the most of this night. A smile broke through, one that spoke truth instead of pretend, and the woman nodded. “Yes, let’s make this a night to remember,” she agreed, won by Iseul’s infectious zeal. Her eyes travelled back to the bar where Minjae was concocting all kind of different drinks, eyebrows lightly raised at the comment. The signification behind the teasing tone and wink was lost on her, though soo-ah did note on how her close friend always conveniently tried to evade interaction with the barman. Being blessed with a functioning eyesight, she had definitely picked up on the oddities in both Minjae and Iseul’s behaviour whenever the two were in close proximity of each other. Previous observations illustrated an unknown history between the two, but Soo-ah was not one to pry into someone’s private life. If they rather have her not know, that was completely fine. Either way, she would support them. “I am not quite sure what that look was supposed to hint at but sure, I’ll try to get some drinks for us,’’ she mused. Her gaze then followed Iseul’s finger towards Kyuhyun, a person her friend had seemingly become close to as well. Wanting to grant the two some time alone in case they had some catching up to do, Soo-ah waved her hand, encouraging Iseul to approach him on her own.“ Go ahead, I will stay to get us some drinks and come after okay?” She lowered her gaze abashedly at the compliment; being on the receiving end of affection rather than animosity was still novel to her. It didn’t bring her as much discomfort anymore as it did in the ‘dark’ days, but a part of her remained in question of being worthy enough to receive one. Giving appraisal, on the other hand, was something Soo-ah did without hesitation. “You too.. You look amazing,” she smiled softly. Soo-ah watched her friend walk over to Kyuhyun, before switching her gaze back to the bar. Her lips parted to call out to Minjae, but the words got stuck in the throat upon witnessing a scene the woman had trouble believing to be true. There was a girl hugging him – but it was not just a girl; it was the famed performer of the night. Was she really just see Minjae and Aries hugging?? Soo-ah had to blink a couple of times to ensure it was not a mere figment of imagination. No, it was real. And they looked like they were friends too. For some reason, this made the woman frown. Why had he never mentioned their friendship? Was it important for her to know? A query with an explanatory answer. No it wasn’t, and Soo-ah didn’t know why it bothered her. Suddenly feeling like she was intruding on a moment, she averted her gaze from them. It was at that moment, however, when a voice spoke beside her, uttering a naming that she had not heard in a while. A title that twisted her stomach into a lead-filled knot and created a dread so potent that even the words that followed after were barely registered in her alarmed mind. Soo-ah did not want to look, afraid that this action would make her fear for the night official. What if I bumped into someone from college? She really jinxed it, didn’t she… It was unfortunate how her manners betrayed her, superseding her feelings and imploring her to glance at the person. Her eyes widened lightly as a phantom of the past entered her sight, though it was not an bad one like she expected. “Cha Jaehan…” his name left in a whisper of slight disbelief. Never had Soo-ah thought to see him again, not after she had turned his help down that day. Why did she reject it? Well, the truth was that, while his offer represented a beacon of light in the darkness of it all, the woman did not want to risk dragging an innocent person even further into this whole mess. Especially not someone as promising as Jaehan. So, with a veiled heavy heart, Soo-ah had sent him on his merry way. In hindsight, it was obviously the right choice; from what she heard out and about, the male had managed to gain quite the success. Yet, now that he was standing here right in front of her, looking different yet the same in ways unexplainable, it was hard not to ponder about the what-ifs. A silence fell between them as Soo-ah had to recover from the initial shock before being able to form one coherent sentence in return. “ A-ah it’s good to see you too. It has been a while,” she gave him a small smile, before shaking her head, “I visit quite regularly actually. It’s one of my favourite places to go to since it’s fairly unknown among most of Seoul.” Soo-ah didn’t know why she was supplying him with that extra information. He didn’t need to know that. Clearing her throat, she quickly returned the question, hoping it would halt whatever train of thoughts that might be running at that information. “ What about you? I have not seen you around here, so is this your first time?" "Oh, and congratulations by the way - I heard you have amassed quite the following. It’s always nice to see students succeeding after graduation.” [/div][/div][/div] [div class=sideholder][div class=name] Min Soo-ah [/div][/div][/div][/div] [/div]

he reaction she managed to elicit from Kkyu gave her a sense of pride and accomplishment - even if Kkyu was on the other side of her jest. Taking note of his grip against the counter as he glanced at her in first unrecognition to realization reminded her of a frightened and annoyed cat. Biting down her laughter, Iseul unconsciously took a few steps back, giving both of them room. "So you wanna die, do y—oh, Iseul-noona" Feigning innocence as she took in Kkyu's expression, if she had known any better, it almost appeared as if her Kku-kku would have gotten into an altercation with the person who surprised him if it wasn't her. The image of Kkyu fist-fighting in the bar was an unbelievable notion and quite ludicrous. For as long as she's known him, Kkyu wouldn't hurt a fly. However, her mirth paused for a moment after realising where her thought led. Her Kkyu? He was not.. hers. No, he belonged - or rather was with someone else. Kkyu, whether he was aware, became someone important to her. Admittedly, he managed to worm his way through her walls and she was more than okay with sharing information about her life. His presence was soothing and comforting - unspoken words seemed to always transpire between them and Iseul was appreciative. He knew the pain she went through without speaking or words. Whether it was her sense of familiarity towards him from their past or being a student of his parents', Iseul was overjoyed for their encounter. She could only hope Kkyu considered the same. Albeit fearful but nevertheless relieving knowing she was opening up her heart to someone, since it was Kkyu she'd risk it all. However, the thought of "possessing" someone made her frown internally. She couldn't do that to him. Even if her heart ached picturing the person she was falling for with someone who wasn't meant to be with her. Then again, it was nothing new. Unconsciously, Iseul glanced to her side, taking note of the frame she once wanted to wrap her arms around. But the gap between them was too far and the point of return disappeared. The man who what stood across from her was a stranger she no longer wanted to face nor acknowledge. Iseul could only hope her dear friend didn't succumb to his trickery. How she wished he didn't work at Shangri-la. Shaking her head, an amused smirk etched across her lips as her attention belonged to Kkyu. With one eye shut and palms faced together near her mouth, Iseul couldn't help but apologise, quickly letting the words slip from her rosy lips. "So sorry, Kkyu-ya! It's so hard to not tease especially since there wouldn't be another chance to!" A cheshire smile crossed her lips fully knowing she successfully surprised Kkyu. Was he happy to see her? Or did she disturb him? However, Iseul also knew she wouldn't let him off too easily and thought of other ways to catch him off-guard. Everyone needed a distraction every now and then, right? For now, she'll take what she could as she lightly giggled. "You're here to see Aries perform, right? She seriously drew in a crowd." Kkyu paused before continuing, his gaze shifting to the side. "You—that outfit looks really good. On you, I mean. It, uh, it looks good on you." "Uhn. I brought So-so with me. A girl's night!" Iseul exclaimed excitedly, happy to know she was able to convince So-so to come out for fresh air. With a slight mischievous wink, Iseul grinned at hearing Kkyu's compliment. However, she couldn't help but feel her cheeks heat up. "T..thank you, Kku kku." His nickname, reserved just for him, slipped from her lips. Looking down at her outfit, Iseul couldn't help but nod absentmindedly, agreeing with him. So-so's compliment towards her gave her more courage than she would know. Iseul is after-all a perfectionist at heart and couldn't help but feel slightly self-conscious with how she looked. Her eyes scanned the bar for a moment, trying to find her friend. Squinting slightly at seeing a taller silhouette hover over So-so, Iseul couldn't help but wonder who the male was. Regardless, Iseul knew So-so could handle herself, however, Iseul made sure So-so was at least in her side-eye view in case something happened. But, for right now, she'd savor the moment with Kkyu. "What about you? I didn't know you were an Aries fan! Unless. . ." Iseul mischievously began, playfully grinning, "Were you waiting for someone?" She asked, slightly swaying side-to-side. Curiosity killed the cat. For a moment, her thoughts went to a darker place. Had he been expecting his. . . girlfriend? Or was she the reason for his prior downtrodden expression?? Worry seeped in and she hoped the girl wasn't and it was something else. However, the thought of her made Iseul's brows furrowed together in contemplation, uncomfortable at the notion if she was at Shangri-la. Of course, she wouldn't be surprised since Aries' performance drew a major crowd. However, a part of her hoped, Kkyu didn't bring a plus one. While it was selfish of Iseul on her part to wish for someone's significant other to not be around, Shangri-la was her safe-haven and she considered the bar their place. A place where she and her friends met up to unwind to relax after a long, arduous, and stressful day at work. It was also the place where she and Kkyu-ya became closer as well. The bar held significant memories and she only wished to share it with a select few. Jealousy was never her strong suit and usually unravelled her. However, she was never the type to back down - always going headstrong for what she wanted no matter what. Perhaps it's why she wants to become a journalist, uncovering what lies beneath the covers. "What are you drinking?" Iseul quickly asked, "Is it your turn today to buy? Or mine?" [/div]

He had zero intention in confusing Aries' fans, and definitely did not want to allow Hana and Yejun to get the wrong idea of their altercation, or anyone else for that matter. Plus, he had customers to tend to.

Turning around to finish Yejun's drink, Minjae went back to preparing the elitist's cocktail. Plucking a polished rocks glass off the assorted tray behind the bar, the bartender delicately placed a sugar cube at the bottom of the crystalware with a small silver pair of prongs. Upon doing so the bartender didn't need to look in order to grab two dashes of Angostura Bitters, to of which he had lashed ontop of the sugar cubes before mixing the substance together with a bar spoonful of water. Concentrated on the masterpiece before him, Minjae listened as simultaneous calls for drinks hit him left and right.

"Who is the drink for?" Looking up and over to his right, Minjae locked eyes with one of his customers. She was pretty, sporting a tight fitted black dress with long, presumably silver, tear drop earrings that dangled by short pieces of faux silver thread. Her makeup was a tad bit overdone, but the class in her gaze could make anyone's heart flutter. Too bad it didn't make his heart flutter.

"This is for nae sarang," he said with a mocked sigh. As much as he wanted to send the girl over to Yejun, he wasn't interested in not getting his tip tonight. Looking in the direction of Yejun, he smiled as he nudged his head. "Isn't my wangjanim handsome?" he swooned dramatically. All the while duplicating a similar replica of Yejun's regular: the Basil's Hayden Spiced Apple Harvest. As a man with experience, the bartender just had a hunch that this random would ask to have the same drink as him. From the fresh pressed curls on her head all the way down to whatever shoes the gentleman couldn't see, for he just knew that she was there to dress-to-impress and what better way to do so then by having impressive taste?

With a so-so nod, the girl smiled softly. Whomever Minjae's 'wangjanim' was, the man was handsome, though he wasn't the type that she would be caught seen with. Little did the bartender know, she was at the bar in hopes of attracting him. As simplistic as Minjae had attempted to be, his designer clothes were loud enough for foxes to come running towards him with their many tails stuck between their legs.

With an innocently cheeky smile, Minjae flashed her an amiable gaze with hopes that she would tip him well once he had finished her drink; all the while pouring an instinctive two ounces of Basil Hayden Bourbon Whiskey. It's golden highlight beneath the fluorescent lights of the bar attracted a small audience as he dug in a small compartment for a spoon - stirring the Jim Beam with a fast flick of his wrists before waiting half a minute to garnish it with its paired fruit.

Not long after, the bartender had surveyed the elitist and the socialite with an impassive gaze. His eyes raked over Hana's attire, how it complimented her pale skin and chestnut hair. She looked stunning to say the least, and the instinctive restlessness that rested in his core had most definitely flared up as his back straightened, shoulders broadened, and jaw clenched. All of this multitasking while admiring her beauty, as well as this confidence that she had naturally surrounding herself had him questioning himself.

Was this jealousy or something else? Whatever it was that he felt made him restless to say the least. He wasn't okay with her talking to him, and he wasn't entirely sure if it was purely romantic attraction that he felt, or an overall big brother possessiveness. With a shrug, he opted out of giving the Harvest to whomever that woman was; deciding to compliment Hana with a drink that seemed to have taste similar to that of herself.

"Jagiya," Minjae teased while approaching the high class bachelor, purposely drawing out the word in hopes to deter Hana, "your usual." Handing Hana her drink on a coaster, Minjae pondered on whether or not he should stay and chat. In doing so he stuck one finger out and teased at the man's collar as he cupped his regular in his hand. It wasn't as if he wasn't interested in where the pair's conversation had gone the entire time he was preoccupied with work and Aries. "Oh, Ja-gi-ya," he purred, "what have you been talking about tonight? How much you've missed me?"

Never mind a tip, for whatever it was, it was definitely something because he was just looking to piss off the ever-so minted Yejun.

The fact that she remembered his name warmed Jae Han's heart a little, but the hint of what seemed to be shock in her slightly widened gaze chased that feeling away just as quickly. Was she not happy to see him? He supposed not. After all, he was a reminder of a past she would no doubt rather forget and someone whose help she had rejected. It still stung that she had turned him away as she did and he wanted more than anything to shake her by the shoulders and demand to know why she had. He could have helped her. If she had just let him...

Prof Min's words snapped him out of the downward spiral of his thoughts and he smiled in return as she answered him. "it’s good to see you too." He couldn't help but wonder how much of that was true but her subsequent words didn't give him the opportunity to dwell on those thoughts. She was a regular and it was a favourite hang out of hers...because it was fairly unknown. That last line brought back his indignation with a vengeance. It was unfair that an innocent and good person like Prof Min was living in fear like this. Hiding in fear of being found out for a past which she was not guilty of but forced to pay for. His fist clenched as he recalled when word of the scandal had first broke. He couldn't believe how many people believed the lies and how quickly they had all turned on Prof Min. He'd thundered down the hall that day looking for the ass who had thought it okay to ruin the life of a good person like this, wanting to sock every person who whispered about the scandal and spoke ill of the prof. Perhaps because it had struck so close to home for him with what his mother had to go through, his anger was through the roof. If Jung Woo hadn't stopped him that day he'd probably have made a bloody mess of things, literally and figuratively. His roommate had made a point of impressing on him that he couldn't be so impulsive and laid out for him how badly things could have gotten if he hadn't been stopped. Jae Han hated to admit that his friend had been right but it hadn't quelled his anger over the fact that Prof Min was being wronged but couldn't defend herself and anyone who interfered could get roped into the scandal. If he had lashed out he would probably have been labeled as one of her secret student lovers. Jung Woo might have been right about that but it didn't make him any less appalled at how ridiculous it all was. Still the reminders gave him a little restraint as he digested her words and focused on answering her questions.

"Nope. I come maybe once a month, usually with my roommate. Actually I did some work here. Those designs you see on the wall are mine. Ah though I suppose you might not be able to see them with this massive crowd in here." He was proud of his work and the workaholic in him wished she had said it was a favourite because of the designs and the atmosphere. It would also have eased the nagging frustration in his heart over her situation rather than add to it.

"Thanks Prof. It's because I had excellent teachers guiding me that I'm able to do so well now." A smile eased onto his face at her congratulations but he wondered if it looked a little strained. He had meant every word he said but the mention of his success only threw up thoughts about her own struggles. The fact that she should have been enjoying success in her life too. As the thoughts grew, so did his frustration and finally what little restraint Jung Woo's constant nagging had given him snapped under his growing need for answers.

The smile left Jae Han's face as he looked her in the eye, "Prof I...why did you refuse my help back then?" He asked quietly. "Was it because I was too young or incompetent?" He pushed further, voice slowly climbing as he gained momentum. "Why didn't you let me try to help you clear your name? You didn't do anything that they accused you of so why do you insist on living like you did?" His voice was pained as he finished, imagining what would have happened if his stepfather hadn't helped his mother when he did. Would she be living like Prof Min...or worse?

A part of him wondered if he had pushed too far with his questions or if the people within earshot had heard him but that was immediately brushed aside by his need for answers and his frustration. He just couldn't understand or accept any of it.
