P.S.: You can make more than one character but be sure you can handle them.

Q&A (answer as your character, IC)

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*
A: My boss forced me to take a vacation and since the trip was free I thought, why not?

2. *What are your expectations?*
A: Expect the unexpected. Maybe I will even manage to relax.

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*
A: I don't have many friends so if they need my help I would help them, friendship doesn't come easy to me, besides didn't people complain about overpopulated at some point?

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*
A: I face it head on, not many people are experienced in facing danger but for me it's kinda my job. Besides its best to count on your own strength, that way if things go south you have no one else to blame but yourself.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*
A: Self-preservation, loyalty, safety of others, money.

6. *What do you dislike most?*
A: Reckless idiots.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*
A: I would never tell anyone but since this is strictly confidential... When I was a kid I almost drowned so I'm still afraid of drowning, sometimes I even have nightmares about it. Then there is also the fear of leeches, I won't tell the story behind it but it wasn't pretty.

8. *Which of the following are your strengths (you are good at those or they are your good traits, if one of those is your main trait you don't have to mention it here and can pick another instead): agility, logical, tactical, practical, intuitive, observant, first aid, medical knowledge, speed, great reflexes, altruistic, helpful, friendly, loyal, truthful, focused, driven, caring*
A: Definitely speed and agility.

9. *Which of the following are your weaknesses (you are bad at those or they are your weakest points, for traits it means that you barely have them or don't have them at all), pick two (if one of them is written in your main traits you don't need to pick it here and can choose another instead): agility, logical, tactical, practical, intuitive, observant, first aid, medical knowledge, speed, great reflexes, altruistic, helpful, friendly, loyal, truthful, focused, driven, caring*
A: I'm not very altruistic if at all and my medical knowledge is also extremely basic, I can put on a band-aid and that's pretty much it.

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*
A: The usual: toiletries, clothes, laptop, mini first aid kit that my boss insisted on, a small flask of whiskey and sunscreen. I also brought extra strong hair gel because my hairstyle doesn't happen by accident.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*
A: Not that I noticed.

Q&A (answer as your character, IC)

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*
In truth, my sister made me go,. She went on and on about how worried she was about me and that I work to hard, yada yada same as always, but then she started crying and it was either go here or go to see her and face the crocodile tears. So I chose here, besides it's free so what the hell.

2. *What are your expectations?*
I just want to drink and order room service while watching shitty movies, no talking to people and no work. A real vacation.

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*
A friend, for all I know those ten strangers could be serial killers or pedophiles. Why would I save even one of them rather than someone I actually like?

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*
Head on, I want to know whats happening when it happens. Getting details from someone else only adss confusion, not to mention that they could be lying.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*
Self-preservation, truth, image, solidarity, honor, safety of others, friendship, loyalty, money, fame, lies.

6. *What do you dislike most?*
People that break down when things get hard, quite crying and grow a spine.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*
Being helpless and vulnerable.

8. *Which of the following are your strengths (you are good at those or they are your good traits), pick two (if one of those is the main trait you don't have to mention it here and can pick another instead): agility, logical, tactical, practical, intuitive, observant, first aid, medical knowledge, speed, great reflexes, altruistic, helpful, friendly, loyal, truthful, focused, driven, caring*
Focused, observant.

9. *Which of the following are your weaknesses (you are bad at those or they are your weakest points, for traits it means that you barely have them or don't have them at all), pick two (if one of them is written in the main traits you don't need to pick it here and can choose another instead): agility, logical, tactical, practical, intuitive, observant, first aid, medical knowledge, speed, great reflexes, altruistic, helpful, friendly, loyal, truthful, focused, driven, caring*
Caring, altruistic.

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*
phone, laptop, crappy book bought at the airport, chargers, eye drops galore, basic hygienic bag, casual clothes and a swimsuit.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*
Oh god please tell me you're not crying right now.

Short writing sample written in third person narrative:
Val checked her phone and resisted rolling her eyes at the emails her boss had sent her, she had warned him months ago that she was going on vacation. He had smiled at that before joking that 'it was about time' and wished her fun before she left. However it was truly in fashion for him to start spamming her before she even truly left asking her if she could just look over this article some newbie had written. Deleting the emails Val sent a quick text to her sister that she was at the airport, and was flooded with emojis and to promise that Val takes plenty of photos and to keep her updated. Sending a quick K she turned off her phone and picked up a book in the small store, she turned it around and eyed the poorly written synopsis. Val had full intent on sleeping through the flight, but it wouldn't hurt to have a backup that wouldn't drain her battery. Besides this book was the least terrible looking compared to it's companions so she trudged up to the cashier and slipped it in her bag after paying. God she was getting a drink the moment they landed.

Q&A (answer as your character, IC)

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*
I had a mental breakdown during medical school, my therapist, as well as my family, advised me to take a break. I'm not very religious but it seemed like a sign when I received the pamphlet about a free vacation.

2. *What are your expectations?*
It's been a while since I've had a proper vacation, but my mom said that the sun should help. So I hope there is good weather, yea I guess I just expect to relax in the sun. Maybe have a fruity drink or two, I'm not really one for hard liquor. I hope there's a hiking trail or something.

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*
I would first make sure there is no possible way to save everyone, but if I realized there was none I would choose the strangers. I went into the medical field to help people. As much as it would pain me I understand that the loss of one is worth that for the safety of many.

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*
I probably hide behind others, but I'll be right there to patch everyone up when they need it. If I really needed to I would put myself in danger but otherwise, I would try to avoid it the best I could.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*
The safety of others, image, self-preservation, truth.

6. *What do you dislike most?*
Stress, which probably seems like a terrible dislike for someone working in the medical field. You could probably call me an idiot, you wouldn't be the first. But my urge to help people means more to me than anything else.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*
Failure, part of the reason I'm going on this trip is that I had a mental breakdown. That mental breakdown was caused by me not being able to diagnosis something that should have been very obvious. Luckily the doctor I was shadowing knew what to do, but the fact that I couldn't might have caused that girls death if Dr. Reager wasn't there.

Medical Knowledge, First Aid

Tactical, Practical

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*
Phone - Communicating with my family.
Everyday clothing - I can't wear the same thing every day.
Swimsuit - You can't expect me to go swimming in khakis
Romance book - It's a guilty pleasure.
Sunscreen - Everyone should use it.
Basic hygiene products - I need to keep myself clean, just water won't do the trick.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*
It's not a life I want to live if I'm actively hurting others.

Short writing sample written in third person narrative:
Perseus reread the ticket twice more before he felt comfort in knowing he was in fact in the right place. Taking a seat in the stuffy airport he shifted his bag over his lap a way to convince himself he had some form of protection for whatever unknown menace could be after him. Sometimes he wondered if he should be seeing a doctor more than being one. Percy unzipped his bag carefully, pulling out his phone he quickly opened his messages. His family and friends pleaded with him to relax during the trip, to finally take it easy. Perseus sighed, as much as he wanted to make them happy, he doubted this trip would solve all of it. Shoving his phone away when his flight was called, he stood carefully looking at those surrounding him. What were they trying to get away from? He wondered before pushing the thought away.

Q&A (answer as your character, IC)

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*
Because it's a great excuse to leave home. I've never even left my home town. I've never even seen the sea.

2. *What are your expectations?*
I don't generally have high expectations, so a comfy bed? That'd be nice.

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*
What kind of question is this?
I don't have friends, so if I did, I'd try pretty hard to hold on to them. I'd love to be able to say I'm the kind of honourable person who would put the greater good first . . . but that's probably not true.

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*
Definitely hiding behind. I'm good at remaining unnoticed, maybe finding us an exit? Better to run away from a dangerous situation that get yourself hurt, in my experience.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*
Self-preservation. Friendship. Lies. Money.

6. *What do you dislike most?*
My mother. My hometown. Me. Cold weather. These really personal and weird questions.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*
Dying alone. I'd be fine dying the most painful death in the world, if I had just one person at my side.
The way my mother will react when I come home. I may have forgotten to mention this vacation.

I'm an artist, and a child from a home where I quickly needed to recognise my opportunities for small rebellion, so I'm pretty Observant. My agility's A grade too. Nothing better to teach you to climb and dodge than sneaking out the house, and ducking under whatever object your parents would throw at you when angry.

I have no medical knowledge. what-so-ever. I'm not very truthful either, seeing how I've had to lie, cheat, and steal from those around me for as long as I can remember.

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*
I packed a sketchbook and some drawing supplies. As I mentioned, I've never left my hometown, so this is the first time I'm seeing this kind of environment. I want to capture it on the page. Lots of new people to capture too. I packed lots and lots of suntan lotion, I'll probably burn real easy otherwise. Clothes, obviously. Some swim suits. I did well in my school's mandatory swimming lessons, and this is my first time getting to do it in my own time.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*
"Yes, Mother." "I have to go home to study, or my Mother will worry". I'm not allowed to socialise or have friends, and I keep quiet unless spoken to when home, so my regularly spoken phrases aren't all that interesting.

Short writing sample written in third person narrative:
(Three Years Prior To Receiving The Vacation Invitation)

Cassandra's boots sunk into the snow, the soft crunch the only noise reaching her in the swirling white. The boots' soles had grown loose and worn, her socks had soaked through and her pale feet numbed within. She'd recognised weeks ago the boots were near done, but her Mother would not listen. She never did, but to smile at what she wished to hear and grow enraged at any perceived insubordination. Even so, swallowed in this abyss, Cass felt content for the first time in months. For a moment, she imagined she was all that stood in the world.

That naive illusion shattered quickly. The billowing curtain parted to reveal a typical brick house, her house. No, not her house, never hers. Mother's. Her hands shook as she reached for the waist-high wooden gate that led to the front garden, eager to get inside befo - her mother stood in the house's open doorway, claw-like hand holding a green bottle, within which Cass could only make out pitiful remains of a dark liquid. Mother hadn't even bothered to go to work today, and Cass' solitude in the storm had dulled her usual caution. In the other hand, Mother clutched a painting Cass kept hidden under her floorboards. Her mother didn't like Cass wasting time on her "useless" hobby. She wished nothing more in that moment than to be blown away in the wind, away to somewhere much warmer where her mother could not reach her, and she didn't fear a monster's wrath day and night.

Name:
Jason Forrester.

Alias or Nickname:
Jace, but he tends to only let people close to him call him that.

Age:
He is twenty six years old. (26)

Gender:
Male.

Blood type:
A+.

Height:
He stands about 5'10".

Weight:
He weighs about 165 pounds.

Rom.-sexual orientation:
Bisexual.

Marital status:
Single.

Threat level:
Level D. He's been in fights before, back in his wilder days, and somewhat knows what he is doing. However, he is usually not fixing to fight anybody and would rather be diplomatic than fight.

Main two personality traits:
-Quiet.
Jason often doesn't have a lot to say, and is prone to losing his words. People mistake him for shy, when he really just doesn't have anything to contribute most of the time. If you start a conversation with him, he's very likely to be open and friendly with you.

-Non-confrontational:
Not necessarily pacifistic, but Jason would rather avoid a fight than start one. He loves to avoid conflict as best as he can.

Health status:
A level at present. He is physically pretty healthy. Emotionally, though, he could use some work.

Short writing sample in third person narrative:

Samuel sighed softly as he placed his boots down next to.his eledged foot locker. The black box covered in several decals including logos from pepsi, rifle companies, Nike, certain restaurants and much more. Taking a look around his home, the staff sergeant gave a smirk before slipping on his running flats and grabbing up his bag. Having come back from a deployment three days ago, Samuel still felt drained from.the hardship of getting home. Catching a flight back always seemes to be the worst part of it. But at the demands of his Captain, he was using up his military leave and taking a vacation. And to an all expenses paid paradise to boot. Lady luck was truly looking upon him he had thought as he walked out the door. Locking ot behind him, samuel through the travel bag into the bed of his truck before stepping in. Firing it up to head for the airport in order to catch his flight to a great vacation ahead.

i ma g e c r e d i t: Wicked Shin

Name: Adelaide Tremaine
Alias or Nickname:
- Addy
- Amadeus Tremaine
Her pen name. Adelaide is an accomplished writer, but has reservations about everyone knowing her real identity. So most people know her through her work as Amadeus Tremaine, a (presumed male) author of many crime + detective novels, and the creator of Edward Ankins, her detective character who earned her most of her attention. Most people are unaware of Amadeus's real identity, although Adelaide isn't adverse to telling people, she just doesn't want to be widely known for it.
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Blood type: O
Height: 153 cm
Weight: 52 kg
Rom.-sexual orientation: Lesbian
Marital status: Unmarried
Threat level: C. She actually has a lot of helpful practical knowledge knocking about in her brain, from the research she put into many of her books, but obviously there's a huge gap between knowing it and actually putting this information into action.
Main two personality traits:
- Withdrawn
Adelaide doesn't go out often, and her anxiety often prevents her from prompting conversations with people. Once you engage her in one though, she'll talk your ear off.
Because she's pushing herself by going on this holiday, though, she's also decided to make an effort to talk with her fellow vacationers.

- Contemplative
She's often found deep in thought and will space out completely if you let her.

Health Status: D. She has very severe burn scarring, mostly on one side of her body, but she's had these since a very young age and they don't cause many complications for her that she can't already handle. However, unrelated to this, she's also not prone to going out much or exercising and isn't in the best shape, so she's easily fatigued.

Q&A

1. Why did you decide to go on this vacation?

I don't often go on holiday. I'm normally swamped with work, and besides that, I'm not one to go out much anyway.. But to tell you the truth, I'm in a bit of a writer's block right now. My editor suggested I go on the trip; it's free and getting out of the house and relaxing might help me get back into it when I return. I was hesitant at first, but she's right. I ought to try and relax, try to socialize too. Maybe I'll even get some inspiration, although I doubt it's going to be a particularly eventful trip..

2. What are your expectations?
I want to relax in my hotel room, maybe even visit the beach.. but the cynical side of me says I'll probably go there, try to relax, end up worrying about my work, be unable to settle down and spend most of the holiday trying to work on my novel anyway.

3. If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?
Um.. Hmm. I mean, of course, I'd want to save everyone if possible.. I suppose that's not an option though - you know, this is exactly like a scenario in one of my books, where the protagonist has to decide between- Oh, I'm sorry.. Um, I think I'd try to save ten strangers. Minimising the amount of people who are harmed seems to make the most sense to me, although it's not an answer I'm fully confident in..

4. In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?
There's no use in me facing it head on, I'm no action hero.. I think I'm best off behind everyone else. That being said I'd absolutely try to help in anyway I can, but putting myself right at the front doesn't make much sense, and I think I'd freeze up and cause even more harm.

5. Sort the following in order from most important to least important: friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.

Solidarity, Loyalty, Friendship The Safety of Others, Self Preservation, Truth, Honor, Money, Image, Fame, Lies
most important <-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> least important

6. What do you dislike most?

When people stare.. it's quite rude. I've gotten used to it, but it doesn't make it any less irritating.

7. What are your greatest fears?

Fire. I hope you can understand why..

8. Which of the following are your strengths, pick two: agility, logical, tactical, practical, intuitive, observant, first aid, medical knowledge, speed, great reflexes, altruistic, helpful, friendly, loyal, truthful, focused, driven, caring
Observant - Not much gets past me.
Practical - I never forget anything, so I have a lot of information still hanging about in my head from when I needed it to help with my stories. A lot of it is not very applicable to every day life, but I think it could still come in handy.

9. Which of the following are your weaknesses, pick two: agility, logical, tactical, practical, intuitive, observant, first aid, medical knowledge, speed, great reflexes, altruistic, helpful, friendly, loyal, truthful, focused, driven, caring

Agility - I, um.. I'm not especially healthy. I look slim enough, but once I actually start moving around too much I get tired, and mobility can be difficult for me sometimes.
Driven - This isn't something I feel particularly good about admitting, but it's true, I lose motivation very easily..

10. What did you pack for your vacation and why?

Laptop - I have a half-finished manuscript sitting on there for my newest novel. I've ran into a bit of a writers block and have been unable to do much work on it recently, but I know it'll drive me crazy if I know it's not near me where I can easily work on it. I brought my charger too, of course.
Stack of books - When I'm not writing, I'm reading. It's important that I always have a book or two on hand.
Change of clothes - I can't wear the same outfits everyday! ..Well, I can, and I've done it many times before.. But this time I want to make an effort to go out every day, so I can't just stay in my pyjamas.
Meds - I have various.. private issues I need these for, in regards to my mental well-being.
General toiletries - Toothbrush, toothpaste, hygiene related stuff.
Sunscreen - People like me tend to want to really avoid getting burnt.
Money - Obviously.

11. Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?
It's not exactly a "quote" but I'm prone to long, dramatic sighs. It's sort of my thing, aha.

Short writing sample written in third person narrative:

"So you really won't go through with it?"

"Hm?"

Adelaide blinked in surprise and looked up at the woman sitting across from her, taken off guard. Staring back at her was the stern - but concerned - expression of her editor and, arguably, best friend, Sheila Harlowe.

"Don't space out on me, Addy. The trip."

"Ah.."

The two women sat in a quiet corner of a cafe. Sheila was a tall, imposing figure, lips drawn in a straight line and brow furrowed. She didn't mean to look quite so angry all the time, but unfortunately, it was her natural expression. In comparison to Sheila, Adelaide was a short, rather timid looking creature, with thick black hair that was arranged in a way that most of the right side of her face was obscured. The reason for this was clear to most upon a closer look; the skin on her right side of her face was thick and leathery, and considerably darker than the rest of it. She was dressed in clothing very unsuited to the hot summer weather, a black turtleneck and high waisted jeans.

"I'm not really a vacation person, Sheila.. besides, I have the novel to work on.."

"And tell me how much you've written since I last saw you."

Adelaide was silent, bowing her head and pushing a crumb of cake around her plate feebly as she tried to think of a response. Sheila sighed, and her expression softened.

"You need to take a break, or you'll never be able to finish it. It's free, it's already planned out for you, and it's a chance to get out of that bedroom of yours for a while! Listen, if you don't unwind, the quality of your novel is going to suffer - and your own health, at that. Take my advice, go on the trip, don't think about work for a bit, and unwind. Then when you come back, you can get right back into it." Sheila tried to smile encouragingly at her. Adelaide fidgeted in silence for a few moments, trying not to cave in to the unrelenting stare from her friend, then finally let out a huge groan of defeat.

"Just this once. Alright?"

Q&A (answer as your character, IC)

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*

Well I mean it wasn’t exactly my choice. My Agent arranged some sort of deal, hang around a hotel for a few days, sign autographs in the foyer with some photos, and have the odd dinner with some nobody who won a raffle. I mean yeah it sounds shit, but it pays well, and it still gives me a few days out of the country and on some hot beach somewhere. If it was up to me I'd still be working, but no one's biting, 12 months now since I played a game of professional football, and nobody's taken an interest, injury and personal red flags apparently, bullshit the lot of it.

2. *What are your expectations?*

Free food, free booze, free board, and in exchange for said compulsory ‘activities’ total freedom to enjoy myself.

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*

Seeing as how my so called best mate decided to very publically sleep with my goddamn wife like hell I’m trusting anyone, they’re only your friends until they turn their back on you, and they all do. So I’m saving whoever benefits me the most.

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*

Yeah I’ve never been the sort to cower at the back, what made the guy I am today, would never made it on the College team by hiding at the back, or made it professional by whimpering and being scared. Probably why I’ve knackered myself physically as well, but I’m not going to change who I am, hit first and ask questions later.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*

Self-Preservation, Image, Fame, Money, Loyalty, solidarity, honor, truth, lies, safety of others, friendship

6. *What do you dislike most?*

Cowards and hangerons, fucking leaching off of the strong, unable to even try and stand on their own two feet, just put the effort in instead of being nothing but a burden to others.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*

Losing everything that I’ve spent my life building up, the money, the fame, the image. To see all that slip through my fingers, makes me mad just thinking about it. I grafted hard for over 10 years, putting my body on the line, hell I’d still be doing it if it was up to me,

Great Reflexes, Driven

Having spent 10 years playing Pro Football on the defensive line, my reflexes are in top damn shape, I mean I may be big, but short range speed… damn I was deadly, still am, get within arms reach of me and you try starting something, I’m gonna end it. I’m driven too, selfmade made, nobody gave me nothin’, everything I am, I made myself, grasped it in my own hands, nothing owed.

Altruistic, Caring

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*

Standard holiday bits, load of hawaiian shirts and shorts, about $2,000 dollars in local currency, not including what I’ve got on my cards, I mean this is just walking around money. Also brought one of my old gameday jerseys, people love it when they get a photo with me in it, give the people what they want. Other than that not a lot really, couple of sports bit, hotel’s got a gym, and got to stay at least relatively active, what with all the free food and booze that’s being laid on.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*

What like a catchphrase? Nah I don't have anything like that, I mean on a team night out I was normally the first calling for a round of beer, but I'd hardly call that a catchphrase.

Writing Sample:

Tyler was slumped back in his chair, the First Class Lounge a hub of activity around him, his large frame near enough took up 2 of the plush leather seats. Around him was the standard hustle and bustle, obviously there were none of the regular fliers you’d see at airports, no bawling babies or your average joes on holiday. This was home to the rich and successful, which he very much counted himself a member of, on both of those counts. At this point however he wasn't taking advantage of one of the many bars that dotted the lounge, or dining at one of the award winning restaurants, instead his mobile was jammed against his right ear.

“Look Frank I don't care that they're already paying for the flight, bed and board, I mean if they want a star of this calibre then that's the bare minimum that they're looking at. That just gets me to whatever forsaken corner of the world they're based, if they want me to stay, then we're talking about we're accommodation,”

His Texan drawl was heavy, and gave an almost lazy laid back quality to his words. His agent on the other end knew however that despite what sounded like levity, this was very much a non negotiable matter.

“Yeah a suites all well and good, I checked out their website, they look perfectly alright. But they want the best, then they've got to give the best, you seen the villas they've got… yeah those are the ones, beachfront view, that's the one I want. They give you any grief, tell them if it isn't sorted by the time I touch down, I'll be on the first flight back,”

He disconnected the call, shoving the phone into his blaser pocket. He let out a sigh, and slumped back against the chair, taking a sip from the half empty pint next to him. He sneaked a look at his watch as he put the glass down, another 30 minutes till the gate opened, just enough time for another pint by his calculations.P

Q&A (answer as your character, IC)

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*
I teach English literature at a small, underfunded school in Inner city Philadelphia. The kids are great, but the work is hard, I take a lot home on the weekend and every year I feel my stress levels rising. It's rare that I can afford to take a vacation in the summers, so when I received the Coral Island resort offer I was sceptical, but I was willing to try it out if it meant I could get out of the city for a week. The ad I received had claimed I was receiving the award as recognition for my five years of dedicated work in public education. Something about it seems fishy, but even if it's just a timeshare sales pitch or something, at least I'll get t spend some time by the ocean at some point, right?

2. *What are your expectations?*
I brought a copy of Ernest Hemingway short stories and my hope is to spend my entire vacation on a beach reading and annotating ever single page. Hemingway's work is like an iceberg. What he shows you on the written page only hints at the greater whole between the lines. I can't wait for the peace and quiet to get back into literature.

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*
I'd save a friend, no doubt whatsoever about that. I don't talk to many people, so someone who I considered a friend is probably very important in my life.

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*
I like to think I would be out in front, facing the danger with defiance, but I know myself well enough to guess that I'd be back in the crowd, watching someone else be the hero.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*
Truth
Friendship
Loyalty
The safety of others
Honor
solidarity
self-preservation
image
fame
money
lies

6. *What do you dislike most?*
The world is full of people who don't want to try to think outside of the limiting boxes that culture and mass media have shoved them into. People consume empty entertainment and trite ideas of fame and fortune and making it big, and they never take to seconds to think about the real "why" of life. What is our purpose here and what should we be doing to make the most of the time we have. I can't stand vain or vapid people who always need to be the center of attention, but my therapist thinks that might just be because I lack the confidence to put myself in the spotlight.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*
I'm deeply afraid that I won't make any real impact on the world. I always feel like I sort of hang around on the fringes of what is going on, not making too much of an impression. People will forget me because I don't have the confidence to do anything truly memorable. I keep saying I will write a novel, but I'm scared that it won't be accepted by readers and I'll be forgotten.

8. *Which of the following are your strengths
Observant - I tend to watch situations and people carefully before interacting. My brain takes in as much data as it can before I choose a course of action. Because of this, I sometimes notice things that others don't.

First Aid - I took a few classes as part of my education undergrad.

9. *Which of the following are your weaknesses

Tactical - I don't always make the best plans, particularly under pressure. I tend to be more reactive to situations.

Great reflexes - yeah, no...

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*
A copy of Hemingway short stories (I've been trying to find the time to read this forever), a small notebook and my favorite pens (you never know when you'll get a story idea), my shower supplies. Three pairs of shorts, four t-shirts, five pairs of socks, my belt, my sandals, my running shoes, my laptop.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*
Nothing that anyone would find all that memorable.

Short writing sample written in third person narrative:

Connor had a love hate relationship with airports.

There was something so Orwellian about the layers upon layers of security and bureaucracy--the human cattle being herded through lines, scanners, and metal detectors as they shambled along dully. It made him feel weary and overwhelmed. As the tenth person in a row was stopped and scanned again because they forgot to take off their belt before going through the metal detector at the end of the TSA line he could barely contain the exasperated sigh that rose to his lips.

What was it about being in a crowd like this that turned people into aimless wandering zombies?

When he had cleared the line and put back on his shoes and belt, he quickly made his way towards the gate, wheeling his luggage through the crowd as best he could. It was vacation season to be sure. Bustling families in matching hawaiian shirts and people who had clearly never been to an airport before in their lives clogged the various walkways and corridors like plaque in an unhealthy artery.

"Excuse me....excuse me...sorry..." Connor found himself muttering almost meaningless as he wove through the crowd. He was sure no one heard him, or, at the very least, no one really cared. In the seas of humanity that eddied before him, he felt like a small boat adrift, far from land.

He reached his gate with half an hour or so to spare. His plane was not going to be a crowded one and there were only a handful of people nearby. As he settled into his chair and breathed a sigh of relief, he scanned the room. This was the part of airports he did enjoy. He liked watching the people around him, playing a game with himself where he would try to guess where people were going and why.

A man sitting across from him in a sharp suit tapped away busily on an expensive looking phone. He was well maintained, fit, tan, his hair almost impeccable plastered into place. He's going someplace on business, Connor guessed, but not legit business, something bordering on unethical. No one has to put that much work into appearance unless they are actively trying to distract you from something else. Connor laughed to himself as he noted a tiny smudge of spray tan on the man's collar.

The remainder of the gate seating area was less interesting. A small family with a harried looking mother and a father who was wrapped up in his cellphone, ignoring the two young children who circled them like hungry sharks, a alt-looking girl who sat on the floor, staring out the wide windows overlooking the tarmac, trying very hard to look moody and artistic. A retired couple who had clearly been married so long they had started to resemble each other in their bright blue polo shirts and snow white shorts.

Connor took all of this in as a silent and invisible observer. One day, he mused, he would write a book that took place in an airport waiting area before a flight, just exploring all of the lives of the people passing through. He jotted down a note to remember this in the small notebook he always carried, beside all the other notes for book ideas he may never have the time or confidence to write.

A flight attendant emerged from the gate and began the boarding process. Connor sighed and rose, retrieving his ticket and preparing to take the flight which would eventually connect him to Coral Island.

Age: 24
Gender: Male
Blood type: AB+
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 107lbs
Rom.-sexual orientation: Panromantic--demisexual
Marital status: Single
Threat level: D. He learned some self-defense when he was younger, but he's too physically weak to put any into motion. His smarts are more applicable.
Main two personality traits:
Socially Incompetent: He doesn't get a lot of social cues that come naturally for others. Because of this, he's terrible at communicating and has long since given up on trying to hold meaningful conversations. What's the point when he can't even properly speak his own thoughts? Recently, though, he's been trying to make more sense when he opens his mouth. It's not going too well; he still prefers to write down what he wants to say.

Empathy: Although he can't communicate well with others, this doesn't mean he can't understand them. He often picks up on lots of little things about a person, through the way they talk to how they carry themselves. Also, he can easily place himself in someone else's shoes and understand what they're going through.

Health status: C+. His stamina is high and he's not easily fatigued due to how often he takes long, quick-paced walks, but he lacks any muscle and is underweight. He refuses to eat anything even remotely healthy, either, which makes him easily groggy. Thus, the time it takes him to react to something is slow.

Q&A

1. *Why did you decide to go on this vacation?*

I went because I thought it would be a good opportunity to meet people. I've been wanting to practice my social skills, even though I doubt I've improved much... I just find I'm so lonely all the time and I don't know how to fix that. It's not like I can just talk my way into having friends, not with my stupid ass mouth.

2. *What are your expectations?*
To be honest, I'm not sure, and that scares me. I hate the unknown. But, I know I'll be spending a lot of time out on the beach. I love being in the water, and... well, this sounds childish, but I love playing in the sand. Maybe there will be a sandcastle composition! I don't think I'll win, but I'd love to give it a go. Do you like to build sandcastles?

3. *If you had two options: save a friend or ten strangers, which would you pick?*
I'd save my friend. I don't care that that's biased. I don't care that it's unfair. My friends... if I had any... they would be the most precious people in the world to me. I don't think I could go on with living if I let one of them die.

4. *In a dangerous situation are you the person hiding behind more experienced individuals or are you the person facing danger head on?*
I... I want to say I'm that hero type guy in all those movies who rushes to the action, but I physically can't. I get overwhelmed super easily. I'd probably be too shocked to even move without someone snapping me out of it. Don't tell anyone, though. This is our little secret, okay? As far as everyone's concerned, I have the potential to be Thor or some shit.

5. *Sort the following in order from most important to least important (you can pick only four or all of them if you want): friendship, loyalty, money, self-preservation, image, fame, truth, lies, solidarity, honor, the safety of others.*

Friendship, loyalty, the safety of others, truth, money, image, honor, fame, solidarity, lies, self-preservation.

6. *What do you dislike most?*
Myself. I... yeah. I suck.

7. *What are your greatest fears?*
Spiders, bugs in general, dogs, heights, closed spaces, pressure, and the possibility of being forever alone.

Loyal, altruistic

Friendly, driven

10. *What did you pack for your vacation and why? (No weapons unless you are a bodyguard to one of the guests and got permission to carry them)*
Some money, clothes, sunscreen, toiletries... You know, the essentials. I also brought my gaming laptop and my earbuds so I can listen to music on my phone while I walk. I'd like to do that: walk on the beach. Oh! And a charger. Gotta have a charger, both for my phone and my laptop. It's portable, which is a plus. I also brought some watercolors and stuff because... I don't know, maybe I'll get the chance to paint something while I'm there. I mean, I suck at art in general, but it's fun, so there's that.

11. *Is there a quote or something similar you say often or are known for among those that know you?*
"Thank god!", which is odd because I don't really believe in any gods.

This is not what Xian had in mind. He thought he could get away with staying in his room during the ball. Having been in the middle of a book when he was ushered by a few servants to get ready, he was in a pretty grumpy mood. A pout adorned his lips as he scowled at his entire closet. There were a variety of suits there for him to choose from, but none of them were ones he wanted to wear. Instead, he picked a red dress shirt and a black vest, complete with black jeans. Definitely not the formal look that was expected from him, but he didn't much care. All he wanted to was get back to his book.

The servants provided Xian several options in terms of masks, most of which were way to glamorous in his opinion. He settled for a slender, black one that would tie in the back, mostly so that he didn't have to hold one up to his face the whole time. Then, the servants left, clambering off before he had the opportunity to bite one of their heads off. He looked at himself in the mirror but didn't feel like it was really him looking back. The "him" he usually saw was a guy still in pajamas with a messy shock of hair and zero interest in the affairs of his father's gang. This version, though, was entirely different than what he was used to. Frankly, he wasn't sure he could pull it off if he even decided to try.

"It's only for three hours," Xian mumbled, tying the mask firmly on his face. "Three hours of my time I will never, ever get back." His primal side prompted him to throw a bigger of a tantrum, but he resisted. There was no need to make things worse than they already were with his father. He was sure Dad was plenty mad enough after he told him last week that he had no interest in taking on the family 'business'. Even if he wasn't, Xian himself was mad, mad that he was the first born son to a life he didn't want.

Stepping out into the hall, his footsteps echoed as he made his way to the mezzanine. The sound of chatter and music rattled through the house, sending shivers down Xian's spine. How much trouble would he be in if he left and went back to his room? It probably wasn't worth it.

With a sigh, he stepped out onto the mezzanine and plodded down the steps, reluctance visible in his frown. He felt several pairs of eyes on him, which wasn't surprising considering how rare it was to see him out and about in the first place. In any case, there were way too many people here for him. People that he was going to try to avoid talking to for the next three hours while his father was in a meeting with the other Devil's Children. He considered it a miracle that no one had died yet. Perhaps they'd be lucky and it would stay that way for the rest of the evening. Perhaps.

Okay guys I will start this RP soon so if you didn't finish your CS yet please do so soon. Also please don't post your answers here and use the OOC instead, this is just a message so I don't have to tag everyone xD sorry today I'm a bit lazy.
