(WIP-ish... I plan to add more details)

tumblr_inline_phf7digrIF1ssflgq_540.gif
Name - Ramona Chandler
Age - 16
Faceclaim - Maisie Williams
Personality - Ramona is a sharp-tongued young bruiser, as quick with her fists as she is with her mouth. Her tell-tale laugh always means she's up to no good.
It can be tricky to convince her to trust, but once she does, she becomes fiercely loyal and defensive to her friends and guides.
Strengths and Weaknesses -
+ Armed (Spiked white cane, Bowie knife)
+ Resourceful
+ Physically strong for her age and height
+ Good swimmer
+ Acute senses of hearing, touch and smell
- Socially stunted
- mostly blind
- Easily distracted by anger
- Reliant on the support of others
Life Before Outbreak - Raised in a family of 5, the oldest of 3 sisters, Ramona had a relatively normal childhood-- well, apart from being born with optic nerve atrophy that severely impaired her eyesight. She learned to read through braille, and grew up using a cane to navigate. She attended mainstream school, with the help of special education aides, and would have been almost ready for her sophomore year of high school when the crisis hit.
Life After Outbreak - Ramona and her family turned to banditry to survive the initial outbreak, living in the woods and hunting, pillaging and scavenging for food and resources. Ramona was taught to defend herself using her sight cane as a spiked staff, adorned with nails and barbed wire. When the zombies caught up to them, however, her family abandoned her and fled... but only Ramona escaped with her life. Ironic, that.
Afterwards, she blindly searched for a settlement of others, knowing that thieving and hunting on her own would prove difficult. She survived the next few weeks fighting tooth and nail, eating only the squirrels and rats she could swipe down. She learned to build a fire using sticks and a flintstone she found, to keep her warm through the increasingly cold nights.

(Note: I am legally blind myself (20/500 visual acuity in my better eye), so I will be writing Ramona from personal experience)

Name - Amelia Sewyer

Age - 12 years old

Appearance -
mackenzie.jpg
FC: Mackenzie Foy

Personality - Amelia changed ever since the outbreak occurred. She speaks rarely if not at all, mostly preferring to be by herself. Although she is closed off she relies on her sister Mavis to make the hard choices for the both of them. Amelia is never seen without her sister being close behind. She is smart and has been known to hold her own against a zombie or two if the situation turns desperate and knows when to keep low and quiet. Thanks to their years of being alone she has learned how to scavenge for food and even how to track wild animals as long as the trail is fresh and fairly big. Amelia is very observant and often doesn't trust others. There are times she can even be considered cold hearted, especially if someone is in danger, although she looks at it as self preservation. She would never go out of her way to help someone if it meant risking her own life or Mavis's.

Strengths and Weaknesses :
+Smart
+Careful
+Observational
+Beginnings of a good tracker
-Distrustful
-Dependent
-Negative
-Closed off

Life Before Outbreak - Before the outbreak Amelia was known to be quite outgoing. She had tons of friends in her class, and even her teacher had written home many times about how charming and charismatic she was in school. At home was no different. She even made a few friends with her brother and sister's friends (to their dismay). Amelia had a way of making the best out of life, and it helped that her parents spoiled her rotten (I just understood what that saying means holy heck). She grew up as the youngest sibling of 3 children in Auburn, Washington with her mother, father, older sister Mavis, older brother Colton and their dog, Mister Ruff (Amelia named him of course). At 6 years old she took piano lessons at the local university although never got good enough to be able to perform. She loved to read on her down time as well as collect butterflies. Amelia was the first out of the whole family to come face to face with a zombie.

Life After Outbreak -After everything happened, Amelia's life had never been the same. One day she had taken Mister Ruff into a small wooded area close to their home to go looking for butterflies. That was when she saw the zombie. At first, thinking it was a sick person who had gotten lost, she called out to them and asked if they needed any help. When she got closer she realized it was a monster and ran back to tell her parents. When she had gotten back however her home was already being broken into by other zombies. Her bother and sister had spotted her and ran to grab her, leaving their parents (Who were already dead in that moment) and their home behind. Only a few days after did they have to leave Mister Ruff as he was just too much to handle for them. Amelia began to become reserved and closed off from others which only worried her siblings. Only three weeks later Mavis had come down with a terrible fever. Colton offered to get help as they were nowhere near civilization at the time, and to this day he hasn't come back. The pair spend every day tracking down their lost brother.

Name - Mavis Sewyer

Age - 18 years old

Appearance-
Mavis.jpg
FC: Ellen Page

Personality - Suddenly losing everything and everyone put Mavis in a difficult position. Instead of giving herself time to mourn, she instead pushed herself to grow up very quickly. Because she had lost her mother and father and now her brother was missing, she had to step up and become the sole guardian for her little sister. Mavis is a natural leader with a good moral sense. Unlike Amelia, Mavis is willing to help all of those that need it, even if it means risking her own life to save someone else's. Because of her natural worry for others, she finds herself in a constant mental turmoil. On one hand she feels the need to save everyone, but on the other hand she doesn't want to risk her life lest she gets seriously injured and can't be there for Amelia anymore. Although Mavis is a wonderful shoulder to cry on, she refuses to show her own emotions and will typically resort to hitting or punching if she finds herself emotionally vulnerable.

Strengths and Weaknesses :
+Good support
+Natural leader
+Decent scavenger/ hunter
+Good moral ground
-Risk taker
-Closed book
-resorts to fighting when vulnerable
-Bad social skills

Life Before Outbreak - Although she would never admit it, Mavis hated her previous life. She had recently been cheated on before the outbreak and found it hard to talk to anyone about her emotions, which only made her feel trapped in her own mind. She had tons of anxiety and hated school. She was smart, but not book smart. She made mostly C's and D's, and all the while her parents pushed for her to get into college. Mavis was sure she would never be able to. She never had tons of friends to push her, and she usually sat in her room most of the time either drawing or playing video games. There were occasions when her father would pull her from her room and head into the woods with him where he would teach her things like hunting, tracking, different types of birds and animals among other things. It was about the only way he knew how to connect with her, and Mavis really enjoyed her moments with him. Out of everyone, he was the one she was closest to.

Life After Outbreak - Ever since the outbreak happened Mavis has been convinced that she has found an actual purpose in life- to take care of her younger sister Amelia. Most everyone has a terrible outlook on the outbreak. At least everyone she had run into. But for her it was a new beginning. Perhaps God's way of showing her that she finally has a destiny. Mavis has never told anyone about her feelings towards the outbreak as she herself even views it as selfish and almost sadistic in a way. She is shameful of it but can't help but feel it all the same. When everything had happened Mavis had just been getting out of the shower and putting her clothes on when she heard her mother scream and what sounded like a struggle from downstairs. Rushing to see what had happened, she found her mother's face torn open, a gash in her father's arm, and her brother who was ushering her out of the house. Monsters surrounded them and it took her many days until she could fully come to terms with what had happened. Although she misses her mother and father dearly, she holds strong for the people around her.

Name - Colton Sewyer

Age - 21 years old

Appearance-
Colton.jpg
FC: Jackson Rathbone

Personality - Colton, much like his sister Mavis, has a certain leadership-like quality. More like Amelia however, he cares more about self preservation than another's life. Because he is determined to get back to his family, he sees others as obstacles- something he needs to get past in order to see his sisters again. Although he was once a down to earth and lovable character, he now sees that the only way to get what he wants is through manipulation and tactfulness. Out of the Sewyer family Colton has been through the worst of what the world is now, which has turned him into someone he doesn't recognize. Although he understands how his actions have had bad outcomes for those around him, he has a hard time caring about it, and an even harder time understanding why. Despite his cold heartedness deep down, he is very good at putting on a charming attitude towards others.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
+Leadership skills
+Tactful
+Patient
+Ambitious
-Cold hearted
-Manipulative
-Tunnel vision
-Ruthless

Life Before Outbreak - Before the outbreak, Colton was your typical popular kid. He played soccer, got good grades, and had tons of friends. His home life was more than envious. His parents doted on him and let him get away with nearly everything, much to Mavis's dismay. He knew Mavis was jealous of him and wished she would open up to him more. On occasion his father would take him and Mavis out to the woods to teach them lots of things about the woods and what was in it. Mostly his father only took Mavis because he knew she was struggling to connect with the family, but every so often Colton was allowed to join as well. It was a nice bonding moment and some of the best times he had with his family. He had a wonderful girlfriend he had met his sophomore year of college (Where Amelia took piano lessons), and they were going strong until she had to move to Kentucky with her family, which left him broken hearted. Only a couple years later did the outbreak happen, and he hadn't heard from her since that day.

Life After Outbreak - One day while Colton was in his bedroom studying up for finals, he heard his mother scream. It is a sound he still hears to this day. When he went to check on her he found his father beating off a monster that had clung onto her cheek. It turned and bit him as well. Hearing Mavis come to see what was wrong he did the first thing he could think and got them out as quickly as they could. Catching Amelia on their way out, they took Colton's car and started driving out of town, all the while watching as people around them dove into chaos. A few weeks after the outbreak Mavis had caught a terrible virus. Because they were in the middle of nowhere at the time, he had offered to go find help while Amelia looked after their sister. It was two days until he had reached civilization and had met a group of people who were raiding a convenience store. Seeking help, Colton asked where he could find any medicine. Instead he found himself beaten nearly to death by these territorial people. When he came to again he found most of his belongings were gone and he was in a strange place with a group of people. They informed him that they had saved him from a terrible fate, and eventually gained his trust. When they turned on him he realized he needed to figure out how to fend for himself. He could trust no one.

Name - Johnson Brown
Age - 20
Appearance (realistic only please) - WIP
Personality - Johnson is a relatively laid-back, and calm person. When he was young, he was raised with a lot of rules, and a lot of regulations. This made him quite a few teacher's favorites, but it also drained him completely. Around the time he was in middle school, he started loosening up a bit, realizing he was smart enough to coast by in life. By the time he got into highschool, he realized he could get through basically anything. It's not that he doesn't care about anything- far from it. He just thinks everything should be taken a little slower. When crap gets tough, he's more than willing to take charge.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
+Good Runner
+Good Speaker
+Physically Fit
+Pretty Smart
+Good Fighter
-Stubborn
-Bit of an Ass at Times
-Doesn't Take Things Seriously
Life Before Outbreak - Before the outbreak, Johnson wasn't doing half bad for himself. He had just moved from a dorm to an apartment with a few friends, was firmly in the center of a good year at college, and most importantly, wasn't doing half bad for himself. He had gotten a job at a nearby store that paid surprisingly well, picking up a few tips as an Uber driver along the way. His Junior year was spent mostly just hanging out with friends, at bars, or at parties. He kept in moderate contact with his parents, who lived a while away, and that's how he liked it. They weren't bad, by any means, but a little... overwhelming. The point is- life was good, and he enjoyed it.
Life After Outbreak - Johnson's first personal encounter with the virus was when his roomate didn't come home one day. They didn't answer their phone either. That was the last he heard of them. His parents never responded to his texts, and he assumed the worst. The first thing he did was buy a gun. The second thing he did was board up his apartment. He wasn't gonna let this... thing get the better of him.

In recent times, he managed to keep his apartment pretty secure, and make it a safehaven for wandering parties. He managed to collect, along with help from a few people he met, a good deal of medical supplies, ammo, clothes, and rations, which he stores and distributes to anyone who comes by. The safehaven is small, usually only about ten people taking residence in it at a time. He knows eventually it'll fall, but continues to stock and supervise it, hoping to push it's expiration date far into the future. He often runs out into the surrounding area, to scavenge potentially important resources, and to recruit more help for his sanctuary.

Name - James CrossName - Daniel (Danny) Cross
Age - 12Age - 19
Appearance -
images
(Asa Butterfield)
Appearance -
e91c0e79028c6addeee6c743f36e103f.jpg
(Brenton Thwaites)
Personality - James had always been described as an 'old soul'. He's quiet, sullen, and very rarely lets his emotions show through in his expression. He's never been very social and would always much rather be alone, than be in the presence of others. The one person he didn't so much mind being around was his older brother, but even he could be tedious most times. His parents tried to get him to be more social, more like his brother, by forcing him into team sports. He spent his early years suffering through various peewee activities until he finally found a physical activity that suited him: martial arts. The onset of the outbreak only increased his desire for isolation. Now, James cares about survival, and protecting himself and his older brother, nothing else. When he looks at other people all he sees are gaping mouths after his food, or after his flesh. Everyone -- infected or not -- is a hurtle to his survival that needs to either be overcome or quickly dispatched. And he is more than qualified to do so. James has been forbidden from wielding firearms by the wishes of his late parents, but they didn't say anything about swords, or knives, or axes. Personality - Danny is generally a nice and easy going guy but he likes to be in charge and can react in anger if people around him are difficult and uncooperative. Has been described as 'insufferably bossy' by his little brother, but Danny thinks that's an unfair characterization. Danny doesn't much like confrontation and makes an effort to avoid it where possible, but on things he can't compromise on, he has to get his way. For the most part he tends to get along well with others. He's always been popular at school and never had trouble making friends. He has always viewed himself as a guardian for his little brother, even before the outbreak; even before his parents were killed. Years of that mindset has led him to become a generally protective person. If anyone messes with the people he cares about you can expect him to react with force and anger. He is the sort of guy to skip the parties his football team would throw after a winning game to instead go home and play monopoly with James. While Danny is good in a fight, he'd always much rather avoid a confrontation when possible.
Strengths and Weaknesses - + Strong self preservation instincts + Agile + Martial Arts training + Weapons proficiency - Doesn't play well with others - Not good at communicating or expression himself - Intense distrust of other people Strengths and Weaknesses - + Protective of others + Strong and fast + Plans ahead - Gets flustered when things dont go as planned - Easily provoked - Can be Insufferably bossy
Life Before Outbreak - There was a time when James used to smile. There was a time where he had friends and he played outside with other kids. All of that came to an end when a gunman entered his primary school and killed his best friend. He never talks about that, or the time before it, not even in his therapy sessions. He prefers to act as if it never happened. Since then he had been a perpetual loner who only spoke when spoken to. He'd spend all his time by himself in his bedroom, surrounded by the trophies he won in the various sports his parents forced him to participate in. Martial arts was the only thing he enjoyed. Three times a week he had lessons after school, but he would often skip school to practice on his own. He found something satisfying about pummeling the human shaped dummy with his fist, knees, elbows, feet, and whatever wooden training weapons he could find at his local dojo. Life Before Outbreak - He was 14 at the time of the shooting at East Meadows, the private school that he and his brother attended. The gunman had come in through the east entrance near the gym. He'd walked right by Danny, with his rifle in hand. Danny had a chance to stop him, a chance to do something, but he just stood there frozen in fear. Ever since he'd blamed himself for everything that happened that day. But he vowed to himself to never again let harm befall innocent people, people he cared for, by standing by and doing nothing. Therapy had been much more effective for Danny than for James. He'd been able to go back to a mostly normal life. He became the captain of the football team in his junior year, and made pretty good grades. He decided to take a year off from school before starting college. He'd been accepted into an Ivy League school, but now he'd never get to attend. Needless to say the outbreak had different plans.
Life After Outbreak - When the outbreak started his parents boarded up and fortified their house. They had plenty guns and for a while Mom, Dad, and Danny were able to fend off the flesh eaters. James always asked his parents to be given a gun but they refused, insisting that they, and Danny would protect him. When the zombies had finally broken through their defenses Danny and James were put into a bed room and told the barricade themselves in. James listened to the gunshots as his parents fought off the invaders. He listened to their screams as they fell to them. Danny and James escaped the house and has ever since been scavaging the desolated areas, looking for someplace safe to call home. The two of them raided an abandoned military surplus store which is where James acquired the crap ton of bladed weapons he keeps on his person. James spends most of days now trying to talk his brother out of going to the next safe zone and instead finding somewhere isolated the two of them can set upLife After Outbreak - His father had told him 'whatever happens look after your brother' before handing him a shotgun and walking out of the room, closing the door behind him. Those words didn't need to be said. Of course he would. After his parents died in the zombie attack Danny blasted his way to the garage, he and james hopped in the family car and sped away, running over several undead on the way out. They'd been living on the road ever since. They'd been in and out of several safe zones, looking for a place that was actually safe but hadn't found one yet. So far every 'safe zone' he's been to was either overrun by the undead, or ruled over by equally viscous people who weren't infected. Danny spends a lot of time scanning the radio waves listening for anyone to put the call out to other survivors, waiting for someone to tell him they've found a safe spot and he's welcome to come to it.

Name - Lottie Roy
Age - 25
Appearance - Lottie stands at 5'5" tall with a small build. Her hair is short and blonde and her eyes are brown. The girl is usually seen in a grey t shirt, gray skinny jeans, and black converse. In the winter she wears a brown leather jacket lined with wool.
Personality - Lottie is an outgoing girl who just tries to make the best of a bad situation. She's very tactful so although she doesn't really know how to fight, she can get to and from places without even being noticed, by both the dead and the living. She's a loyal girl if she trusts someone.
Strengths and Weaknesses - +sneaky, independent, resourceful, loyal. -not very strong, can't really fight, has asthma.
Life Before Outbreak - Lottie was on her way up, having been an influencer before the outbreak. She was a rising star who was completely career driven. Her success came from the independence she gained after her parents died in a car crash when she was a teenager. Foster homes matured people, so she grew up really fast. She started working at a coffee shop when she was done school, but it wasn't long until she joined Instagram and everything took off. She started making money on all her posts, she got modelling deals, and even starred in a few music videos and TV shows. Her life went from crappy to amazing in just ten years,
Life After Outbreak - She didn't know how to handle things when the outbreak happened. Her and a group of people left LA when things got bad and stayed on the road, doing everything they could to survive. She had to develop a whole new set of skills just to stay alive in the world they now lived in. Before, she never knew how to shoot a gun, and now she somewhat does. But with bandits and all them she's useless. She took to scavenging and slipping in and out of cities for supplies for her group. The group became her family, but that was all lost when a group of bandits raided their camp and killed most of the group. Lottie barely escaped with her life. It wasn't long after she found a QZ that offered safety and protection. She didn't care, as long as she wasn't alone.

Name: Edith Key
Age: 54
Appearance: Standing 5' 8" tall, this pasty skinned woman has an angry feel about her. A particularly notable feature is her dark freckles. She has a lean face with a softly shaped jaw, a small nose, very thin lips, and her light blue eyes are almond-shaped. She has short, curly, light blonde hair which is worn in an asymmetrical style. She has short arms, a thick torso, and long legs. She usually wears stylish clothes that are mostly dark-coloured and well-fitting, and she wears no jewelry. She is usually seen wearing a personalized belt.
Personality: There's a lot to say about Edith Key but most know that above all else she's dutiful and clear-headed. Of course she's also witty, trusting and contemplative, but they're in shorter supply, especially considering they're mixed with being insincere as well. Her dutiful nature though, this is what she's most popular for. People regularly count on this and her objectivity in times of need. Nobody's perfect of course and Edith has less pleasant traits too. Her unfriendliness and insensitivity aren't exactly fun to deal with, both personally and for others. Fortunately her clear-headedness is usually there to soften the blows.

+ Punctual
+ Dedicated
+ Creative
- Righteous
- Untrustworthy
- Jealous

Life Before The Outbreak: Edith grew up on a farm, her family teetering on the poverty line. As she grew older, she knew that she wanted more for herself than what her parents gave her. As an adult, she got involved in politics and eventually became a senator. In the process of climbing the social and political ladder, she became greedy and power-hungry. This attitude resulted in her living a very lonely life. In her forties, Edith had been diagnosed with breast cancer and managed to successfully get it treated. However, just before the outbreak, her doctors informed her that it had returned – and it was spreading.
Life After The Outbreak: When the outbreak first started, Edith was one of the many politicians that tried to cover it up. In her ivory tower, she was much safer than the rest of the nation. However, that didn’t last long. Eventually, the entire government collapsed, and Edith needed to do what she had to in order to survive. Though her health was deteriorating, she started to slowly travel on foot. She liked to move alone, utilizing the knowledge and resilience that she learned on the farm as a child. She knew crowds drew attention, and she would rather not have had to worry about the wellbeing of anyone else. She would camp out in abandon houses until she was forced out by either zombies or other survivors. The only thing she could do was take everything one day at a time. When she came across the QZ, though, she thought that maybe it was time to stop running.

Name: Montana Walker.
Gender: Male.
Age: 31.

Appearance:
Montana is 6'3 feet tall, weighs 205 lbs and is physically fit due to his love for hiking and team-sports. He has a weak spot for plaid shirts, leather jackets, knitted cardigans or sweaters, leather boots and plain denim jeans. Sports a short beard, has short to medium long, brown, curly hair and gray eyes.

Face Claim: Justice Joslin.

JqD4PFd.gif

Personality:
Montana can be counted as more of an extrovert, he doesn’t mind interjecting himself in social situations and speaks up whenever he feels the need to. Friendly, helpful and so mellow he's neigh impossible to anger, according to his friends. That being said, he’s never been much of a leader and even less so, a follower. Fair to say Montana marches to his own drum. He has strong morals, the stubbornness to stick with them and the arrogance to act condescending to those who don’t agree with him. However, believing in right and wrong does not make him a saint, he is very over-protective over those he has taken under his wings and he has no problem breaking the rules to stand up for the little guy,- especially the injured, young and elderly,- . This does make him naïve and an easy target to take advantage of. Once burnt he will hold a grudge though! He has a strange abundance of dad-jokes and likes sharing at the weirdest moments. Lastly, Montana is a perfectionist, he has an almost compulsive need to do everything to the best of his abilities, which occasionally throws a wrench in his sense of self-preservation.

Strengths:
- Light aircraft license
- Novice car,- certified aircraft mechanic.
- Has basic survival skills.
- Protective, will help anyone he can.
Weaknesses:
- A bad (right) shoulder, chronic pain.
- Avoids firearms like the plague.
- Has no combat experience.
- Credulous, trusts a little too easy.

WLW3eDI.png

Life Before Outbreak:
Montana was born in the state of Texas, son of Jacob and Emily Walker. The first part of his childhood was easy-sailing, he was an active kid who had no trouble making friends and any free time was spent at his uncles automobile repair shop Jacob pushed his son to become a professional football player, a dream that fell through for both of them when Montana accidentally got shot in the shoulder by a childhood friend, at the age of fourteen. Shortly after his recovery it became apparent limited mobility and chronic pain would prevent him from ever reaching a professional level. Not one to dwell on the has-been, Montana simply shifted his attention to other things, like his love for cars. It was his father who wouldn’t let the situation go and that caused friction between his parents, who got divorced shortly before Montana turned sixteen. He ended up moving with is mother to Alaska, Emily’s birthplace. It was there that he started taking an interest in aircraft's and after getting a degree in aircraft mechanics, he landed a job at a small local airport. Eventually he got his light aircraft pilot license at the age of twenty-three and started working as a bush pilot for the better part of seven years, transporting supplies and people from and to remote areas. At the age of thirty his father got diagnosed with aggressive form of lung-cancer and Montana temporarily moved back to Texas to take care of him. Jacob passed away shortly before the outbreak.

Life After Outbreak:
After the funeral and having tied up all loose ends, Montana was about to head back to Alaska when the outbreak truly hit. With most commercial planes grounded and roads closed off, he didn’t have many options left to get back home. Instead he has gradually been making his way up north by any available means, slowed by his need to pick up, help or drop off stragglers along the way. Meanwhile he has learned several different uses for a hand axe and begrudgingly took up the use of bow and arrow. Despite everything he still refuses to touch a gun and his preferred method of handling the undead, remains avoiding them whenever possible. Somewhere along the way he managed to procure a light aircraft,- a Maule M7 he lovingly nicknamed Mully,- which allowed him to fall back into old habits by transporting goods and people. Unfortunately Mully broke down near a QZ and Montana has been sticking around looking for a way to fix it ever since.

Okay everyone, here’s the thread. Feel free to start posting!

*sorrrrrrryyyy this was rushed af but I wanted to make sure this got done today!

Name - Saoli Rowan Baur
(Pronounced like SIGH-lee BOW-er)

Age - (can be any age) 23

Appearance (realistic only please) -
1a2676d515bc80350b3d16847cbd37e5.jpg

Personality - Having moved to the United States at the age of six after a disaster in her home country that ultimately led to her being considered a ward of the state, Saoli has very little trust for others. Though she speaks fluent English, she has a difficult time speaking with others and prefers to keep to herself. Recent events have challenged her inclination towards solidarity and anonymity, though she currently has no loyalty with any gangs of survivors.

Strengths and Weaknesses -

Strengths - resourceful. physically strong. not easily intimidated. resilient. high pain threshold. bilingual. meaner than a junkyard dog. level headed.

Weaknesses - poor communication. poor social skills. little knowledge of survival skills. not a fast runner. no reliable source of shelter. no weapons training.

Life Before Outbreak - Saoli was born in Serbia and sought shelter in the United States at the age of six years old after the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War claimed the lives of both of her parents.

Shortly after aging out of the foster system at the age of eighteen, Saoli was forced to make the decision between completing school at the local community college or becoming the legal guardian of her special needs older brother, Kurt, who had been condemned as a ward of the state to live in an assisted living facility for the rest of his life. Lena took in Kurt and became his full-time caretaker, the two of them barely scraping by on his disability checks and her measly salary at the biker bar.

She knew that something was wrong when Kurt’s checks stopped coming in. Soon after that, adult protective services seized him, taking him to a “rehabilitation facility” that Saoli was never allowed to visit or even know the name of. Something was going horribly wrong and instead of stepping in, the government was actively working against them.

Saoli has a reoccurring nightmare that puts the day her brother was taken away from her on loop. Where could he be now? What were they doing to him? Was he one of the unlucky souls being driven out of palliative care units during the outbreak to become a guinea pig for biologists who struggled to find a cure?

Life After Outbreak - Saoli was driven out of her apartment by a gang of armed survivors within the first few weeks of the outbreak. Having had no weapon of her own and no allies to align herself with, she’s resorted to living on the streets, making a point to cover as much ground as she can each day in order to find her brother.

Despite her distinct lack of charm, she has befriended a stray dog that now follows her every step. She affectionately calls her newfound familiar "Cujo" for his ferocity and brutality. Had it not been for Cujo, Saoli would never have been able to stalk through the streets at night in search of the hidden facility where Kurt may or may not still be a hostage.
