    Written Appearance

Taylor stands at around 5'6" and has a healthy weight, which reflects in her well-proportione body. She inherited a naturally tropical tan by her father, giving her a complexion to die for. Overall, she has a very shapely, but slightly toned body. Well, shapely once you consider her rather small frame. She's overall athletic looking, but appears to border on lanky, due to her long legs. Her face is mostly dominated by soft features, though she does possess rather high cheek-bones, which can make her look a little intimidating at times. Taylor likes make-up and regularly puts it on, but prefers the subtle, natural approach instead of just slathering it over he entire face.

Fashion-wise, the girl is up-to-date, but particularly enjoys the vintage-inspired pieces. Taylor is often seen wearing some sort of denim article, whether it's one of her countless, high-waist cut jeans, a jacket, a shirt or some sort of elaborate accessoire. She has a knack for the rockabilly look that has come back in style through the hipster-wave, almost ALWAYS rocking her red, pin-up girl-esque bandana, which has kind of become a trademark of hers amongst her social circles.

Personality

Julie is a smart, modest and relatively calm individual. While many assume she's primarily book smart, she has an easy time socializing. She's not outrageously extroverted or anything, but most people seem to find some redeemable qualities in her, given that she's neither particularly boring nor overly weird or loud. Most people view her as level-headed, grounded, or, to put it more eloquently "she has her shit together."

An easy way to get her attention is to talk to her about music. Given that her almost life-long scheduele usually took up all of her time, Julie turned to music as a means to relax. Classic rock, hard rock, pop music, indie rock, melodic metal and everything inbetween that utilized guitars can be found on her devices. The young surgeon herself plays, and is quite adept at it ever since picking it up in middle school, though she's somewhat out of practice and considers herself to be rusty.

Julie prides herself in being a highly impartial and objective person, capable of removing herself from most situations and consider all necessary facts to make a decision. Be it her work, her love life, her daily business, overcoming struggles... you name it. She is striving to approach everything logically. A lot of times, this is helpful. At other times, however, it is a less desirable behavior, as her surpressed emotions and compassion can be a real short coming, when things simply need to be resolved differently.

Julie is very passionate about those close to her, and defends them under all circumstance. Be it her family or her friends, one cannot badmouth them without getting on Julie's bad side. On the flipside, Julie's extremely non-confrontational and, while honest about her loved one's flaws, avoids initiating critique at all cost. If the situation arises and she is more or less forced to make a negative remakr, she puts an awful amount of effort into articulating it properly, so nobody's feelings get hurt. Some people mistake her harmonic, considerate personality with shyness, or even being introverted, but really, she's just extremely emphatic. Well, that, and she hates being seen as rude.

BIOGRAPHY

Julie was born on a rather gloomy day, on the 25th September, right at the brink to the Halloween season, in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Her parents were rather busy business people, those who simply couldn't put their efforts into caring for a child. Well, that, or they did not want to. Either way, for a multitude of reasons, an abortion was no option, and so her biological mother gave birth to a healthy girl, but she was quickly put up for adoption.

All across the pond, a couple who could not have children - not surprising, given that they were two men - had started the adoption process. After a lot of time, fear and paperwork, they finally made the trip, and Julie received a new home, far away from Japan, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she spend her life up until after her studies.

However, her culture was not quite lost on her, as one of her two new dads was, infact, of Japanese descent himself, and so Julie grew up in a rather mult-cultural household, adopting a bit of bilinguism. The girl was nurtured when it came to embracing her heritage, as well as enjoying other cultures, from a very early age.

Throughout her entire childhood and teenager years, Julie was a pretty happy girl, living without much to worry about. She went through her own heartbreaks, her own bad experiences and short-comings, but nothing truely tragic ever happened. Arguably the worst part of her life - which remains unchanged to this very day - is the pressure she always received, or at least perceived, to do well. Be it her parents, who are probably a little too proud of their daughter for her own good, friends and aquaintances who automatically stereotype her as the "smart Asian" or her teachers, who kept using her as an example for the rest of her class, something she hated quite a lot. It was this very pressure, this early pushing into a respectable path in life, which lead Julie to consider going into the medical field.

During her education, be it the years from elementary, her senior year in high school or her college time, Julie always studied extra hard, so she could make her parents proud of her. Disappointing them was one of the few things she truely feared and felt stressed out about. While she never had any problems accepting her two fathers, and loved them like any child would love their parents, it always felt like she owed them, like she had to do well in order to not waste their choice in her. Especially when she was younger, she'd occassionally get picked on for having two dads, something that only strengthened her stubborn ideas of making them proud, and "doing them right". While this, in turn, earned her a bit of a nerd reputation with the other kids, it didn't matter much to the girl. Still, despite these unpleasant experiences, Julie looks back on her childhoog fondly, treasuring all the great experiences, friends and memories she was privileged enough to have.

After many sleepless nights, filled with absorbing book upon book, she aquired her bachelor's degree with high scores, and was now setting her sights on getting into med school, into which she was accepted rather quickly - much to her relief. It seemed to pay off, as her parents were beyond estatic over their little girl's success, though keeping up started to get hard for her eventually. The biggest crutch in these years truely were her friends, especially her BFF Kaitlyn, who kept encouraging her, something she greatly valued. The battle seemed won, the path now downhill, instead of the exhausting uphill, once Julie was part of the pratical classes, and got into contact with actual patients, getting a feeling of helping ACTUAL people... A switch seemed to have been hit. It revitalized her, spurred her on as she finally felt that this was her purpose - helping people. She now breezed through the exams and the studying. Sure, it was exhausting, it was difficult... but she now carried herself with a vigor like never before. And so graduation day came along, with Julie almost at the top of her class. It seemed to go well.

What was left now, were a few years of making experience, of honing her craft in more specialized areas. Julie, still motivated to the brim, dove into it head first, quickly aquiring experience under the guidance of fully trained specialists. In these first few years, she gained a lot of respect for her work ethic, and was well regarded within the facilities she worked in. It seemed to go oh-so-smoothly, but, eventually, first signs of burnout showed up. It struck her hard, as this was one of her major fears. Starting something up, spending years and years on it, only to recognize that it's not for her. The young woman tried to power through, but eventually felt weaker and weaker. She had finished the minimum requirements, but her originally designed plan was barely half-completed. It was crucial to make the right decision now, and, somehow, fate must've intervened, as Julie received an offer to join the medical emergency response team in a tiny community, somewhere in New York. New York City always fascinated her, and she figured, at the very worst, she'd be able to take a break, stay involved in her field, and get to visit the city every now and then. Jackpot, she thought, now feeling like things would turn out just fine...

RELATIONSHIPS

Harper Charles Yates // Father - One of Julie's adoptive parents, and Ryan Chyoko's partner. Harper is a trained and licensed physician, and a big reason as to why Julie considered a medical career, seeing how happy her father was to be able to help patients. Harper worked on a limited scheduele in her early years to be able and contribute to raising her.

Ryan Chyoko // Father - Julie's other father. He is more grounded than his spouse, and works as a teacher. Ryan made sure to provide Julie with some of her heritage at her new home, and, while never emphasizing or pushing it onto his daughter, raised her bilingual, to an extent. He quit his job until Julie was six entirely, and became a stay at home dad.

Kaitlyn Andrews // Best friend - Kaitlyn first met Julie in 5th grade, and they instantly became best friends. Somehow connecting on a much more genuine level than middle and high school drama, their friendship endured all the social pressures the average student experiences, and went to college together. Even when time became a luxury, the two stayed in touch and still keep tabs on each other. Kaitlyn still lives in Massachusetts.

THEME SONG

A common cold.

{slide=center |

It was an exceptionally gloomy day. The kind of day that you wake up to and instinctively burry your head deeper into the pillows, in a doomed belief that it was possible to escape it's unpleasant atmosphere. "Hnnmm..." All she could do was groan a few times, before she had to admit that her attempt at wrestling with the slow process of waking up only caused it to speed up further. Fine. Fine! Her brain seemed to crave a state of conflict more than either of the two other options, and so she had endure the struggle of one half of her wanting to remain shrouded in drowziness, while the other screamed with an exhilarating productivity. Almost annoyed at the fact that people couldn't sleep for as long as they wanted - and, ideally, on demand - Chloe pushed herself up and, with squinted eyes, looked around the room. Pixie's fur appeared to be a soft, safe haven for her sore eyes, as the cat slept, seemingly, without a worry in the world. Chloe felt almost emberassed for sensing a bit of jealousy rise up in her.

The girl's morning routine was the same as it was everyday. The unpleasantly chilly toilet seat, needlessly hastily brushing her teeth - and of course, the empty promise of starting to floss tomorrow - finished by a shower duration that would probably make every environmentalist try to impale her on a stake. Of course, out of every possible day it could happen, today, where the rainy, cold, unwelcoming world that decided to rear it's ugly head, the warm water had chosen not to work properly, leaving a lot of steamy, hot relaxation to be desired. Nevertheless, Chloe's mind was active enough to keep her warm for now.

While her entire consciousness was filled with the usual image - a blank canvas which seemed to fill itself up with various takes on a bit of typography, reading "You are alone" - one version of the letters seeming meaner than the previous ones - Chloe felt an almost stoic determination not to give in to the feeling. It was true. Just 18 months ago, the young woman gleefully counted down the seconds until her next day off. Ever since coming to Pasecoda, however, this perception changed, instead making her feel painfully aware of just how lonely she really was. Even with the few friendships she had managed to make - or really, aquaintances was a more precise way to describe their relationships - none of them had lead to any deeper connections spawing. Chloe mostly blamed herself for this, as she was probably not the most joyful person to be around, but the girl was also uneasy in persuing any sort of bonding activities, as she feared to appear clingy or pushy.

Not today though, no. Today her sadness would not take over. The world looked moody enough, it didn't need another girl that only amplified this atmosphere. Instead, she decided to make some use of the combination of weather, avaibility and feelings. While her unintentionaly pretentious metaphor for lonliness was clichéd, it was as sincerely inspiring as it was cheesy. To her, at least. Why not use the free hours and paint a bit? Her most creatively productive hours were the morning ones anyways, but they usually and generously stretched into the afternoon too. A time which she usually spent at work, or rolling around in bed, sleeping away the weekend on the regular.

Chloe made her way out of the shower, dried off and inspected her wardrobe. After slipping on a plain, white shirt, a light-grey sweater jacket, navy blue leggings and a pair of awfully thick, woolen socks that could warm up the north-pole, she crossed the hallway, which seemed to be imbued with a stream of cloudy light. The same light that flooded the rest of her appartment (most importantly her bedroom, which is the sole reason this observation is even happening right now) The blonde opened the door to her little boxroom after carelessly tying her hair into a bun. It wasn't exactly crammed, and was noteworthily clean for a room of such nature, but it still carried the typical, dusty, less distusting garbage dumb... charme, and housed some rather impractical and less frequently required items.

"There you are..." She spoke quitely, but actually out loud, as she grabbed the fragile looking wood structure, a stack of containers, which were filled with a variety of pastels and different black tones, and a few additional pieces of paper. The now grimly motivated young woman brought them all back out, and casually closed the door by letting it click through a push of her left foot, heading off to the tiny garden she called her own. Once outside, she could feel a disappearingly subtle drizzle dampen her face. It didn't matter much to her. Maybe it would make for some interesting results.

Plugging in her headphones and scrolling through her phone's screen, which was quickly covered in microscopic droplets, she underlayed her particularly pondering mood and started to set up the easel, quickly making her first few strokes, which left behind a few colorful trails. It took her much longer than usual, as she felt a weird mixture of complete clearness on the outcome, while. at the same time, a distinguished indecisiveness. Licking her lips and the corners of her mouth, in a slow, absent-minded manner, she let her gaze wander over her neighbor's gardens, the street next to the small hedges, which framed the properties, and occassionaly peaked up at the sky.

It looks like you've copied a lot from your mech pilot when you made Eden.
It's actually more or less a placeholder so far. Idk, I was halfway through designing Eden's CS, then thought "Mh, maybe I use this for Becky" and then it ended up being half and half somehow. I gotta fix that sometimes.

PERSONALITY

Emily is a warm, emotional and affectionate young woman, although these sides don't necessarily shine through at first glance. Or several glances. Often drowned out due to stress and timidness, many people actually mistake her as impersonal or unfriendly. Though she's been highly sociable for the better part of her life, her natural openness has degraded somewhat noticably over the years due to her strictly run life. Her ability to uphold a healthy emotional state took an additional dip due to her suffering from borderline personality disorder. Ever since being formally diagnosed with it, Emily has retorted to assuming she's overbearing and overly-affectionate, completely undermining her normal, genuine personality, thus becoming a little withdrawn by default.

Her generally dreamy, faraway state of mind - albeit more of a subconscious trait rather than an aquired skill - as well as the fact that she's used to high expectations from an early age on, lead to her becoming incredibly competent in high pressure situations, though she understandably does not seek them out voluntarily. Should the situation occur regardless and she's being dragged into a setting where she's the center of attention, and a lot of pressure would be on most people, Emily, while easily stressed out, is able to perform whatever task she has to comperatively unaffected. Additionally, it's incredibly hard to provoke her as most insults or attempts at teasing the girl just wash over her. Hurting Emily is rather easy though. She simply won't engage in any sort of fight most of the time, being a generally harmonic, maybe even serene individual. In fact, many people would classify Emily as highly fragile, completely unable to engage in harsh conversation and such actitivies. Quick to tear up and even quicker to seek some sort of affection from the ones she trusts, most people tend to go a bit easier on her due to her delicate attitude.

Maybe it is for these very reasons, maybe it's the oddly confindent 'chique' impression she gives off through her appearance, maybe it's both, or maybe it is even something entirely else. Whatever the reason, Emily often gives off a distant, absent-minded vibe, as if her thoughts always trailed off towards a faraway place. A graceful emptiness is what best describes her usual way of carrying herself. Emily will often space out to participate in a different life, vicariously living through these experiences.

Emily has a very inherent appreciation for the beauty in life, which probably only amplifies her seemingly desinterested demeanor for other people. The sight of sunsets, skylines, forests or even a simple, single flower can entice her, completely ripping her out of the task she was occupied with before. Sometimes, she bathes in a mellow, somber moment of peace, so to speak, taking in views and feelings while shutting everything else out. Shortly after her first depressed episode post-diagnosis, Emily has picked up painting, which helps her sense a sort of capturing of feelings, and relaxes her greatly.

Once someone truely gets to know her, said person will have an unwaveringly loyal and empathic personality by their side. Chloe is extremely caring and protective of those she holds dear, which makes her susceptible to getting hurt, as she never assumes anything bad about a person she thinks highly off. Though the act of idealizing people is a commom custom in victoms of BPD, it's especially noticably in in Emily due to her being a generally needy and well-meaning person, even beyond the disorder.

ASPIRATIONS

Emily dreams of eventually getting a break through her art. She does not believe this will actually happen as her confidence is rather low, but secretely she often dreams of such a life, imagining what it would be like. Unfortunately, she never enters her paintings or showcases them otherwise, which, of course, completely ruins any chance of actually getting exposure.

Since coming to Portland, Emily mainly just wants to figure herself out and unwind. Be it her mental state, her private life or, of course, her weird power.

FEARS

After her social life has taken a severe hit back in SanFran, Emily has an unsettling, deep-rooted fear of ending up alone. Of course, she does not mind being by herself every now and then. In fact, she often seeks out solitude. But true, choiceless lonliness is incredibly scary to her. She fears never being accepted by anyone or not being good enough. Since coming to Oregon, her old, small circle of friends has essentially vanished which only amplifies her fear.

Additionally, Emily has a dee, underlaying fear of drowning. Even though she loves the water and has spent quite the amount of time in pools and occeans she regularly dreams of dying out on the water. An experience that often carries over to her real life.

RELATIONSHIPS

Aleksander David Liljequvist: // Father // A Swedish teacher nearing his late fourties. A well respected former member of the Stockholm University, he has been chosen to join a geological research team in the United States, prompting his family to come along. Extremely protective of his family, particularly his children. Is in sparse contact with his youngest daughter.

Sofia Toulalant-Liljequvist: // Mother // French. Growing up in an artist household, Sofia contributed majorly to the free-thinking development of Michelle and Emily. Though Aleksander too is liberal, Emily's mother is almost radically left and puts great care in passing on the values of acceptance. Dancing when she was young, but never making it very far in the business due to an injury, she would later go on to study and teach music. The two are closer than Emily and her father, though there's a bit of a divide due to her pushy attitude when it came to Emily's dancing.

Michelle Arabelle Liljequvist: // Sister // Four years older than Emily and certainy the one her younger sister is closest with in the family. Emily has idolized Michelle from an early point on, admiring her strong personality and athletic success. Truely, Emly partly worked so hard on herself because she wanted to be like her sister. It might not be a coincidence that Emily's mental problems started to creep out much more noticably after her sister moved out and away. The two still keep in touch with each other, regularly writing E-Mails. Michelle's also the only one who has seen all of Emily's paintings.

Caroline Helwig: // Boss // Not actually French, but obsessed with the image and more snobbish than a caricature of the land, she owns the upper-class café Emily works in. She's condescending most of the time, at least to her employees, but not really a bad person. Emily and her boss share a subpar relationship. Miss Helwig sees the girl as a perfect fit, aiding in creating and upholding the image of the establishment, yet loathes her for an, to Emily, unknown reason.

Pixie: // Pet // Emily's silver-black Somali cat. Was with the Liljequvist's for three years. Pixie is roughly six years old and is a very affectionate creature albeit rather lazy.

HISTORY

Emily Vale Liljequist saw the light of day for the first time on a rainy January day in the BB Sophia maternity clinic in Stockholm, and was welcomed by her family consisting of her father, Aleksander, a well-respected faculty member of the Stockholm University, her mother, Sofia, a former dancer and music teacher, and her older sister, Michelle. The Liljequvists residence was a pacey and charming home just a bit outside of the bustling inner city districts fo Sweden's capital. The entire household, lead on by Sofia, who had worked in the industry, had a knack for the more sophisticated things in life. While neither Aleksander nor Michelle were particularly artistic or unusually cultured, a tendency for art appreciation was present throughout the entire bloodline, a trait that may have been passed down to the newly arrived nestling as she grew up to become very appreciative of all forms of art.

Emily was a quiet but sweet child growing up. In fact, most people who met the girl remembered her fondly, complimenting her well-behaved nature and understanding for responsibility. "Just like her sister" was a phrase common heard. And indeed, Emily was rather popular in the community, as was her older sibling. The Liljequvist sisters did well in school and participated in a variety of extracurricular activies. Whether it was their involvement in class, being respectful to their teachers and classmates, or carefully fullfilling their obligations in schoolprojects, the girls were universally liked. In fact, Michelle even gained a bit of fame due to her excellent swimming abilities, and at one point even qualified for nation-wide competitions. While she had long found and reveled in her athletic field, Emily had been placed in ballet classes from an early age on - 8 to be precise - and was a promising prospect, with teachers constantly predicting her to become a star. Her mother, enarmored with her daughter's talent and the idea of her little girl following in her footsteps, unfortunately didn't realize that her daughter did not enjoy the art of dance after an initial excitement that carried her for the few few years, only keeping quiet for her parent's sake.

Despite the unfortunate circumstance of Emily's predicament, life went rather well for the Liljequvist. Their oldest daughter would leave home soon, spending a year in Africa, while the younger one continued to do exceptionally well under the loving but strict schedule her parents had put her in. Soon after Michelle had left for Johannesburg, Emily would turn 14. Unbeknownst to the family, this would be the girl's most shaping year, though for all the wrong reasons. The teenager had been unusually reclusive for a few weeks, worrying her parents though they assumed it would just be a temporary moodswing. The stress and unhappines that had build up over the years finally started to tug at the young girl a little too much, causing little cracks in her mind and eventually resulting in Emily suffering her first taste of depression. And while her parents took the girl's mental health very serious and immediately initiated the process of getting her examined by specialist, Aleksander's job had more or less forced the Liljequvists to leave their home, making the long way over the pond instead of allowing for Emily to be checked out - The United States were waiting.

For now, however, Emily's primary source of unhappiness had been put on hold and thus her mind actually experienced a positive amendment despite the lack of a professional opinion. The preparations for relocating to the USA - more specifically: San Franisco - and the effects of adjusting to their new lifes allowed Emily to feel relieved from having to uphold the facade and escape her mother's unshakable belief that the youngest daughter just had to be a dancer. At least for a bit. Life was different but more enjoyable than the girl could remember it ever being. Due to her multilingual upbringing, she did not have much of a problem settling in and quite enjoyed her new home. Her old life would catch up with her quickly, however, as Emily's mother had long established contact with an old workfriend of hers who happened to have some pull at the San Fransisco Ballet School, one of America's most respected facilities when it comes to ballet. Needless to say Emily was less than thrilled.

Despite her anxiety about the future and her now even stricter, even more demanding lessons, she continued to go along with it, not having the heart to oppose her mother's wishes. Accordingly, Emily's mental state deteriorated once more. Her entire energy went towards trying to maintain her grades and performing well during dance class. As a result, however, her conviviality plummeted and Emily began to eat an unhealthily low amount. Of course this routine was doomed to fail, yet it went on for about ten month, until finally the whole ordeal took its toll. Emily had gotten into a fight with a boy. The offical report read that the two got into an argument, which lead to Emily accidently hurting herself in the bathroom due to being angry and careless. The truth, however, is a little different.

The two indeed got into an argument, but Emily experienced the situation drastically different compared to the boy or any of the bystanders. She felt incomplete and scared. Like she was besides herself while a wave of hopelessness washed over her. Running off into the bathroom, she intentionally hit the mirror and heavily hurt herself. In the hospital, where she was examined, the girl was questioned as to what happened. Much to the shock of both, doctor and her parents, Emily more or less accidentally blurted out her version of the events, explaining that she felt as if someone had ripped out her heart. It was deemed to be the result of exhaustion and stress-related anxiety. The family was given a few vitamines, the advise to keep her at home for a week and a confident pat on the back. "She'll be just fine in a week or two, you just see." they were told. But she wasn't.

Incidents began to scatter throughout the next couple of years. Emily paid less attention during school, broke down or started to cry in her ballet classes here and there, and, for the first time in her life, was caught smoking cannabis with some of the unruly students. She was caught and brought home by an officer, much to the chagrin of her parents. Never had they dealt with such behaviour before and it shocked them accordingly. It was decided that continuation of such behavior was unaccetable. The mixture of what almost seemed like grief, coupled with her unstable and impulsive behavior had to be looked at - An appointment with a therapist was made quickly.

There, Emily told the psychologist how things seemed to her. She explained that she felt like everyone would leave her, how everything seemed scary and dangerous to her. After some questioning by the man, who could not make anything but wild guesses with such vague stamements, the girl vividly articulated not only her emotional state but also that she had seen herself in a different city, with people she didn't know. That she felt scared and alone. Oddly, she was with other people, specifically a girl she didn't recognize but felt comfortable with, but they'd then leave her alone. The girl finished by explaining that she somehow knew they wouldn't ever come back to her. After a few long sessions with more questions and answers, the therapist finally talked to Emily's parents explaining that he consideres Emily suffering from borderline personality disorder a possibility. The attachment issues, the unstable breakouts, the twisted perception. Quite a few things hinted at the diagnosis. Luckily, the Liljequvists were caring, and so they took the possibility of a mental disorder serious and provided for their daughter accordingly under the guidance of Emily's doctor. It took her a while to trust her therapist, but, while she continued to struggle with irregular eating and remained prone to phases of depression, her overall state of mind showed signs of improvement.

Still, in spite of her bettering mood, she remained experiencing visions of being elsewhere, only sharing them in the safe confines of her therapists legal boundaries, not wanting to be scrutinized for her experiences. These visions ranged from the city she had seen before to seeing her family's house from the outside while laying in her bed. This routine would go on for years with relatively little change. Emily continued to attend the San Fransisco Ballet School, struggle a bit with her grades and continue to indulge in unhealthy behavior, but the Liljequvist's family mentality being so focused on success and discipline ensured that nothing too catastrophical would break out and shake up the family as Emily was much too worried about disappointing her parents. Instead, she desperately waited for her quickly approaching 18th birthday, in hopes of using her newly gained adulthood to make up an excuse to "take a break". However, just a mere three months prior, Emily would experience the final nail in the coffin, convincing her she had officially gone insane.

After going to bed, Emily suddenly felt herself laying in bed, as if she was conscious, and simultanously seemed to walk down the street she and her family lived in. In this 'vision' the girl entered her home, went up the stairs and slowly opened the door to her room. Shooting up in her bed she couldn't help but turn her head. You can imagine the horror she felt as she looked into her own face. The two versions of herself seemed to exist independently, yet Emily felt both bodies at the same time. A shared consciousness with seperate bodies. This supernatural experience was the straw that broke the camel's back for Emily, leading her to conclude that she had to get out of her current life.

After turning 18, Emily reluctantly revealed her intentions to move into a place of her own and see what she wants to do in life. Eventually trying to soften her parent's concerns about her health and her career by promising to not stay away from any of her routine for too long, she received their reserved approval. Within a month the young girl packed her things and eventually landed a small apartmemt in Pasecoda, Oregon, a somewhat small city with affordable living space. Emily has not upheld much contact with her parents since moving out due to feeling guilty of lying and not wanting to face her parents. In return, Emily's often a little needy for attention and love. She does keep in touch with her sister via E-Mail quite regularly though.

To support herself until she can figure out what to do with her life, the girl has started to work as a waitress in a café called La Tete & L'Amour. Sometimes being described as having a "French grace", she was deemed highly suitable to the trendy café's image.

EXTRA INFO.

Fueled by her borderline disorder and further stirred by the absence of any and all close relationship, Emily is often experiencing histeric fits of fear in regards to being and staying alone.

Due to her desperation-like impulsive to experience closeness and approval, Emily is prone to let herself be trapped in abusive relationship of platonic as well as romantic nature.

Thanks to her multi-cultural upbringing, Emily is fluent in English and Swedish while being proficent in French, making her trilingual

Emily's highly appreciative of the fine arts. She adores arthouse and classic French cinema, is a big fan of photographers such as Robert Doisneau and her favorite music is art & baroque pop-rock ala St Vincent, Swans, Radiohead and the like. She holds deep respect for unique artistry.

Being born on the last day of January, her Zodiac sign is the aquarius, whose commonly associated traits actually fit her quite flawlessly.

Emily owns and regularly writes into a journal ever since her 11th birthday. She especially uses it whenever she experiences phases of insomnia.

Being born on the last day of January, her Zodiac sign is the aquarius, whose commonly associated traits actually fit her quite flawlessly.

Emily is an above-average swimmer due to being encouraged by her sister. Swimming also serves as a therapeutic activity for her, as soaking in the water makes gives her a sense of escape from the world.

In spite of her often perceived absent-mindedness, Emily is actually extremely emphatic and tends to go above and beyond for other people's good, putting those she cares for before herself.

Though she occassionally experiences crushes and longs after some sort of romance, possibly initiated due to her disorder, Emily consciously considers herself asexual as she's usually extremely uncomfortable with sexuality as a whole.

Her alternative existence, which she internally refers to as "the nightcrawler", seems to be stronger and faster than her 'true' body, though not to an unhuman extent.

Emily has picked up smoking as well as moderate consumption of alcohol since she moved into her own apartment.

APPEARANCE.
Emilia possesses a relatively average physique with a weight of 136lbs. distributed across a 5'4"ft frame, though she's in noticably good shape and a little toned. Besides her somewhat trained body, part of her weight one could presumably attribute a bit of that weight to her unusually thick hair. Even when straightened, Rashida's mane is a natural enemy of any comb who so much as dares to look into her general direction. Usually worn in long, elaborately woven braids her hair is quite the eye catcher. Noticably free from any scars or marks, Rashida possesses lovely skin which leans more to the African of her paternal family than her mother's Caucasian side. Somehow walking the thin line of being quite lean and shapely at the same time, Rashida is generally considered to be attractive, but regularly repels people's fondness of her appearance by rather extreme choices in clothing and accessores.

Colorful clothes, heavily adorned glasses, chokers, gloves and hair accessories are a common sight, as are attention grabbing septum rings. She's quite trendy and keeps up with fashion magazines and styles of various backgrounds. Rashida is fond of mixing cultural customs and is usually easy to find as she sticks out in almost every crowd.

In depth
personality

• If one had to summarize Emilia's behavior the word eccentric would come to mind relatively quickly. The first thing to know about her is that she VASTLY prefers her second name and introduces herself with it to just about everybody. Rashida is a very engrossing personality, demanding attention through the way she conducts herself as well as her style. A lot of people, her elderly professors in particularly, tend to disapprove of many of her habits which often go against traditionally "appropiate" norms. Those quirks include chewing gum at all times, never dressing in "proper" clothes, instead prefering colorful and trendy outfits, or the fact that she rarely, if ever, adresses people in a formal manner. Whereas other people offer a handshake with a modest "Hello, Mister/Miss so and so" Rachel just nods or waves and automatically retorts to a first name basis, no matter the position or age of her collocutor.

Rashida often shows a bit of an "I don't care" attitude and her most used gesture is without a doubt a simple shrug. Rashida believes that small-talk is useless. Instead, she'll often engage in more philosophical, deep, personal or flat out random topics even with people whom she just met - a trait that often throws people off a little bit. Much more enthusiasm shines through when a topic of interest is brought up, and Rashida has many distinct beliefs she likes to discuss with others. Be it her political beliefs, your favorite spices (and why they are your favorite, duh) your most visceral fears or the fact that she thinks the world is stupid for kind of rejecting polyamorous lifestyles. Expect a niche discussion when you give her a chance to talk. And if that's not enough to possibly overburden your friends, her extremely liberal approach prompts her to randomly strike up a debate about substances, immigration, sexuality and education, often making everyone around her a little uncomfortable.

On a more sociable and enjoyable note, the young archaeologist indulges in many different hobbies, some of which are rather unusual and it's not far off to call her a daredevil - a trait many people are quite appreciative of. While she enjoys her tame hobbies, like playing saxophone or cooking quite a bit, she truely blossoms whenever she's engaging in a more dangerous activity. As an example, Rashida loves to skydive, has participated in bungee jumping sessions, and once was part of a group of tourists who swam with sharks. In the safety of a cage, that is, but still. Rashida is also an avid gym goer, training quite regularly. Originally just strolling along after a classmate invited her to come, she is now quite the fitness geek and often carries some sort of prepped food boxes or protein shake around.

Being raised and shaped by very strong, independent female rolemodels, Rashida is very vehement about equal rights and jumps at every tiny notion that perpetuates gender roles. However, she is also extremely cautious of racism, homo and transphobia and whatever kind of discrimination you can imagine. Exactly those kinds of conversations reveal that Rashida simply does NOT back down from anyone when she's convinced she's right.

biography

• Emila Rashida Chambers, along with her twin sister Hannah, was welcomed into the world by her parents on a mercilessly hot summer day - the 14th of July to be exact. Her father, John, was a factory worker, who often spent the nights plodding away at his job and instead slept during the day, leading to the Chambers twins being raised primarily by their mother, though she didn't exactly have a whole lot of time avaible either. Alice Chambers was an extremely ambitious and independent woman. In a time where female medical personal was often narrowed down to nurses, Alice actually worked as a fully trained doctor, and a competent one at that. Both, Emilia as well as Hannah, were very much influenced by their mother who'd consciously and actively fight gender roles and often advocate for equal rights in their community. The proud woman made it a point to pass on her values to her daughters which probably explains a solid amount of the young scientist's quirks.

As Rashida grew up, she'd often ask her mother and father about their families, especially taking an interest in her paternal family tree and how her father's ancestors had immigrated to England a few generations ago from Sierra Leone. Rashida found herself fascinated with the diversity in culture and developed the desire to make a related field her career at an unusually early age. Accordingly, her best grades came from subjects like history and social studies. It had long been clear that Rashida would persue a higher education, and with her natural interests it came as no surprise that the young woman would find herself studying anthropology and its sub-field archaeology. Despite the demanding and wide-spread subject matter, Rashida did well due to her enthusiasm and sincere interest. Around the same time, she started her fitness craze after being invited to join a gym-session by a classmate, helping her to keep up not only a healthy mind, but a healthy body too. Ever since her 5th year of university approached, Rashida had come in contact with a curator who invited her to work in his museum, a chance Rashida took without hesitation. Often rubbing her coworkers, classmates and teachers the wrong way due to her peppy, vivacious and "hip" personality, nobody would even attempt to argue her knowledge and unparalleled eagerness to learn, scoring her a pretty distinct reputation.

competence on the job

• DUTIES: As the team's anthropologist, Rashida is an expert at recognizing, portending and understanding a wide range of languages, symbols and social customs of various cultures, helping in being wary of potential dangers, finding the team's path through otherwise complicated areas and communicating with possibly difficult to read inhabitants.

QUALIFICATIONS: Though Rashida is not necessarily a team's first choice due to the fact that her education is not formally finished, her extra-ordinary work ethic and promising showcase of skill has earned her an excellent reputation when it comes to her potential. Not only did she achieve excellent grades and recommendations by all faculty members responsible for her during studies, she also has been noted as an outstanding aid in the museum she has worked in prior to joining the expedition.

Secrets
• I- Being an extremely liberal and, occassionally, exorbitantly 'empowered', Rashida tends to kick over the traces every now and then. Such was the case shortly before her 18th birthday. Due to a certain level of popularity and the right friends, Rashida could traverse certain clubs somewhat freely despite the adult limitations. As fate would have it, a teacher - a relatively young man who had just started his undergrad on the neighboring university - was also present. As self-determined and demanding as Rashida was (and still is) she was never shy to hit on her male classmates. As such, chance had its way and Rashida ended up leading on the intoxicated man, never revealing her status as a minor.

Though there wasn't much of a scandal to report about aside from a few deep kisses, Rashida was shocked to find out what exactly happened once she'd come across the very same man a few days later during. The aspiring professor, now realizing that, somehow, she was attending the club despite her being underage, was understandably mortified. Due to her hunger for attention and her endless persuit of proving she would not let herself be pushed around, the young, still stupid girl blew the events out of proportions and it wouldn't take long for the story to make rounds, kicking off a chain reaction.

The school refused to allow the man to complete his studies, his own university extruded him and soon, charges would follow. While, with the help of a good laywer, he managed to evade a sentence, his fiancée, understandably upset by the thought of his betrayal and disgusted by his actions in regards to a yet-to-be 18 years old. As Rashida never further disclosed her illegal attendance as well as the fact he was drunk, mercy was nowhere to be seen, quick leading to the two seperating. Life continued to spiral down, leading to the man's life shattering and sending him into a deep depression and, almost cruelly ironic, a serious case of alcoholism, with which he know withers away in the remains of his life. Though she has learned her lesson and matured since then as well, her actions leading to the complete destruction of a relatively innocent and otherwise good person greatly haunts her.

- Rashida was strongly urged not to discuss her career with the rest of the crew until they land and are "too far in to back out". Her contact, a well respected professor, has opened her the door to this extraordinary mission because he believes in her ability, but is very much aware that the rest of the team would most likely post-pone the expedition should she reveal her background too early.

PERSONALITY

NAME: Viktor Musa Raith-Zadeh || AGE: #26 || GENDER: M || ROLE: The Prince

LOCALE: Liechtenstein (Currently resides in Milan) || HEIGHT: 5'8" || WEIGHT: 129lbs.

Friendly. Emphatic. Passive. Surprisingly grounded, perhaps? Maybe even submissive?

So many possible ways to describe the fashionably dressed and charming heir. And by is, I mean he's absolutely not. Not any of these things. But you are gonna believe that he is. Trust me, you will, for the only thing more polished than his absurdly luxurious vehicle, is his facade.

Growing up as the descendant of royalty, Viktor is not one to appreciate rejection. And while the world revolves around him, conquering his desires through ability is a process of pure joy. As such, using his honey-soaked silvertongue in unprecedented precision is an excercise well worth his time. Persuasion is the name of the game, and oh so much sweeter whenever someone puts up a fight in a futile attempt of resistance.

And resistance is rare. Nine times out of ten, the act of the admirably grounded and pleasant bachelor to die for works flawlessly, opening the few doors not opened for him in advance. Every now and then a particularly sharp lover or thorough business partner may have their reservations, forcing the nobleman to let them peek beyond the surface and let his remorseless heart run over whatever protest is voiced - But that's what it's all about anyways, right? Still, despite dipping in what most would call immorality, Viktor isn't a terrible human being. Not quite at least. Possessive, materialistic and selfish, maybe... Hey, at least he'd never kill anyone. Mostly because he'd be way too spooked.

On the flipside, he's a family man, caring for his parents and extended relatives, and respects those with talent and drive. For as long as they don't enrage him, that is.

A trait so ugly it wouldn't even pass as a distant family member, is his inability to keep cool in certain situations. Despite his average height and lack of noteworthy strength, Viktor's prone to aggressive fits, though they are the end of the rope and signal utter hate, representing quite literally cracks in his well crafted and maintained image.

APPEARANCE

A mixture of Iranian and Belgian bloodlines belonging to not so unheard of royalty, Viktor possesses a light but inpenetrable teint and thick, dark hair. With his lean physique and well attended body, he sports a fit and well upkept appearance. Despite the meticulous grooming, one might spot a bit of stubble on his royal face, though it's always so neatly intentional looking that any impression of lacking care is eliminated before it can blossom.

Things such as callous hands or pierced, tattooed or otherwise modified skin are an impossibility, though jewlery is present plentiful in the form of breath-taking rings. Having the availability of a personal tailor as well as shoemaker, tweed, leather, hem and silk are constant companions in the form of precisely crafted suits and elegant dress shoes.

NOTEABLE FEATURES

No suit, no Viktor.

Persian ancestry be praised, sunburns are a non-issue.

Immaculate hair - with or without products.

THE RIDE

It's a Bugatti Veyron. With ample amounts of genuine gold coating. Is there much to say? It's fast. Real fast. And expensive. Not "Oh, I hope I can take my wife on this great holiday" expensive. I mean "Oh, I couldn't possibly work my mundande little 9-5 job long enough to afford this car in one lifetime.

WHAT 'DRIVES' THEM

Simply put: Winning is a possession to be aquired. Little is as fun as howling your impeccably superior machine above long, emty roads. Except for long roads with an audience. Accordingly, this competition is the perfect combination of fun, showing off and proving one's skill. Justification, even if only gained from yourself, is a mighty motivation, and men have moved montains for less.

STRENGTH: Inscrutable
WEAKNESS: Debauched

Building an image of eccentricity does not come easy to those who need to pretend. Accordingly, many sleepless came and went spent mentally putting together a look that sells her sexual appeal as well as lending her an aura of mystery. With dyed silver locks (Mercedes natural hair color is a deep and pretty bark-like brown.) and a wardrobe overflowing with a many cheaply aquired knock-off dresses, Mercedes's appearance is consistently "off", both intentially and unintentionally, though it is hard to put a finger on why exactly.

Mercedes stands at around 5'6"ft. and weighs a rough 120lbs., effectively crippling her whenever she reminds herself that she's deemed neither model-like nor petite. Though she has a very symmetrical face and is generally considered beautiful, the slow disappearance of her youthful glow and her own vain obsessions took their tools on her, and so she is often viewed as just another middle aged woman whose best days are behind her.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

Mercedes is a powdery bundle of pretentiousness, yearning to be recognized as talented and "in the know" about high society. She behaves consciously and strives to be as sophisticated as possible, which often leads to her using terms and references she isn't 100% confident with. Due to her desperation to be seen as an artist and to be seen as valuable, Mercedes often resorts to degrading methods to win over her peers, ranging from making a fool of herself, to selling out just about anyone that benefits her to letting herself be reduced to nothing but on object for lecherous people of importance.

Mercedes is deeply unhappy with her own life as well as her deeds over the course of the last decade, but feels unable to rehabilitate into a more healthy and genuine state of life. So, instead, she surpresses her sincere beliefs and wishes and drowns them in alcohol and pills, all of which run rampant in the industry. Drug abuse is basically good form, especially in her "area".

With her career slowly spiraling into pathetic depths (and it wasn't great to begin with), Mercedes opted to volunteer for the project to be part of a potentially important study and solidify as her a pioneer and create a legacy afterall. She's additionally in financial trouble, as she spends most of her compensation for her adult work on substances and thus requires additional income.

H I S T O R Y

Born into the epitime of American middle class, Mercedes was born Melanie Cass somewhere in the Georgian suburbs. And though she seemed about as normal and as happy as most children around her, a change set in slowly as the otherwise average teenager discovered the finer aspects of life through a friend's friend. Instantly fascinated with the lifestyle of the rich and acclaimed, Melanie aspired to be part of the glamerous world.

Riding the coattails of everyone qualified, Melanie slowly but surely made her way into a more sophisticated (or, according to her father, "artsy") society. As she came of age, Melanie quickly applied to colleges in more culturally relevant areas, ultimately ending up in California. There, she changed her name to blend in with the Niykees, the Zoës and Aidens better, and quickly pandered enough to receive invitations to galleries and photoshoots.

Still, success was moderate. A minor role in an indepent film here, a presentation inside some arthouse cinema here, but the scene didn't exactly like what Mercedes had to offer. Desperation set in as the ostentatious young woman had to face her lack of authenticity and talent, especially since her physical appeal (and thus, demand) declined with each year, the ever so shallow society not interested in anything but Actaeon complex inducing beauty.

In dire need for some sort of recognition as well as financial replenishment, Mercedes has since starred in productions of seedier nature, though she remains picky in order to assure herself of her artistic integrity and worth. As such, most of her work in the business is of novel nature, such as a privately commissioned recording thematizing Byzantine erotica.

Make-believe is a powerful thing.

PERSONALITY

Wyatt is a very orderly person, second-guessing everything that goes against the law, appears dangerous or otherwise unpleasant, and generally second-guesses everything he does, regardless of lawfulness. He's pragmatic person and reacts in disbelief when those around him suggest something dangerous or risky when there's a (however) obvious safer way to accomplish the same task. Wyatt has been described as neurotic before for his inability to roll with the "We'll just wing it" mentality, something that caused him many nerves and many sweaty foreheads.

Despite his seemingly overly orderly behavior, Wyatt can be an entertaining person. Though he is approaching his 30s, he keeps up with pop-culture and, unlike many of his friends, doesn't find youth-phenoma annoying. Maybe it is for this sincerity that he rarely receives any comments about trying too hard to be hip or being cringy. He has the idealism of a liberal arts college major and loves poetry and dance, having an affection for clubbing, poetry slams and the likes. Wyatt can certainly bust a move. If he wasn't such a cynical person, always excecting the worst in people, he'd most likely chain himself to trees and hold up signs, insulting the establishment.

One of his biggest social strengths is his ability to layeth the smacketh down on whoever tries to tell him off. Though he is often dumbfounded whenever someone says something stupid, he quickly recovers and retaliates with a barrage of sass and sarcasm whenever someone displays their, to him, unfathomable lack of common sense.

FEARS

~ Wyatt has an uncomfortable prediction about his death being unnecessary and easily avoidable. Though he is unsure what exactly will happen, he is very doubtful about growing very old, and often says something along the lines "This shit will kill me one day."

~ Love is scary. And it's worse when you're falling for people as easily as Wyatt does. He's not one to pay too much attention to someone's appearance, but it's easy to make him feel a little too lovesick over someone whenever they show him affection and are, to him, genuinely great personalities.

~ As a doctor, Wyatt has developed a strong stomach against blood, wounds and gore of all kind, but he is a wuss in the very sense of the word. Pain is an absolute no-go for him and he has a basically non-existent threshold for enduring physical pain.

PHOBIAS

~ Acrophobia - Wyatt experiences fear of heights. It varries depending on the surrounding itself, his state of mind and the situation he is, but if he has to stares down and the floor is only visible 20 feet or more away, we're gonna have a problem.

name: Kendrick, Samantha

age: 33

sex: Female

date of birth: 08/15/83

height: 5'6" ft.

weight: 131 lbs.

sqGpv3n.png

P E R S O N A L I T Y
Due to her upbringing, Samantha is a very earnest and hard-working individual. She can work under pressure and never complains about exhausting work. Basic knowledge of many essential survival tasks are stowed away in the corners of her mind. She can - and has - utilized firearms before, she can make fire, treat simple wounds and is generally a rather useful person to have around. That being said, she certainly isn't one to lift the mood or get peoples' mind off of things a lot of times. Afterall, Samantha is heavily shaped by her strict upbringing.

She internalized certain behavior and values, such as discipline and stoicism. She often smiles politely, even when upset or insulted, and rarely raises her voice. Instead, she's often quiet and generally prefers to let others speak, listen, and weigh in with precisely targeted opinions and concerns. She has little need for recognition and she is not very prideful. It follows that she has no qualms with putting herself into positions others may find degrading or humiliating. Should a situations occure where she does feel humiliated, she usually does not let her feelings shine through, concealing them instead.

However, she did learn how important it can be to be kind and emphatic, and has made great efforts to be caring. She developed genuine compassion and kindness through her relationship with her fiance and her son. While she rarely lets her guards down, shows weakness or otherwise makes other care for her, she has no issues lending a shoulder to cry on or an ear to vent to. One should not mistake this willingness to help with openness however, as Sam is generally closed off and dislikes being drilled with questions. Aggressive or nervous responses aren't uncommon when someone persistently inquires about her personal life.

B A C K G R O U N D
Samantha was born to a military family. Raised by a father who served in the Iraq war, an ambitious financial counselor for a mother, and three older brothers, two of which followed their father's footsteps of joining the army, Sam enjoyed the protection and leniency that comes with being the family's fledgling and baby girl only very briefly. From an early age on, her parents discouraged crying and disobedience, and though their traditional values and views of gender roles allowed Sam a bit of indulgence her brothers did not receive, Sam was taught to value strength and durability, to be competetive and disciplined.

With above-average grades and decent athletic success, Sam had few problems in her academic career, instead struggling only with connecting with other students. Most of the female students didn't have the same no-nonsense attitude Sam had been raised with, and most male students were either intimidated by either Sam or her family. "The military freaks" was cruel but catchy, and so Sam hardened further, learning to deal with mockery and solitude. It was only in college that she'd find people more accepting, and it was there that she actively attempted to surpress her gruff persona, instead trying to be caring and gentle.

After finishing her major, Sam began searching for work, and began building her own little life with her boyfriend, Ben, whom she had met in college. He was the exact opposite of her, coming from a very liberal and kind family, and he showed patience and emphathy, which in turn softened up Sam. Through a surprising inheritance of Ben's and the fact they both earned salaries, a home was easily financed. Life looked bright, and though their families didn't exactly get along too well with one another, even those squabbles died out once the couple announced that they were expecting. Sam worked well into her pregnancy, until, eventually, she gave into Ben's request and took her maternal leave. To her surprise, life at home, with her baby boy, was not as unfulfilling as she had feared. Instead, it was a welcome change of pace for the always-disciplined, always-plodding Samantha.

A few blissful years passed.

In the night of the 8th of July, Samantha and Ben went on a date night. Shaun, their now three years old son, was supervised by Ben's mother. At 11:39PM, the police called Ben's phone. Margarie, Ben's mother, had driven Shawn back to her place, as previously agreed upon, where he was to spend the weekend. At 10:02PM, a drunk driver had lost control of his car and crashed into Margarie's sedan, which was shoved off-road and flipped. Margarie was brought into emergency care, her condition unstable. Shaun died in the car almost immediately.

The couple's dream-life shattered. Investigation of the reckless driver remained their sole interaction with the outside world, in a routine otherwise ruled by their grief. To their chagrin, the driver, eventually identified and trialed, was let go in a freak ruling that even made it into the newspaper. Their children's and mother (in-law)'s murderer was free to go. Suddenly, the pair's dynamic seemed to shift. Whereas Ben attempted to be the stronger party and console Samantha before, he broke with the unfairness of it all. Samantha on the other hand ceased her crying and fell almost silent.

On the evening of December the 16th, Samantha was waiting in her car. She had dedicated her day's hours to researching the man responsible for her child's death. She had learned his routine and adress - unbeknownst to Ben, whom she appeased with lies about walks and the need for alone time. At around 8PM, Steve Werr stepped foot on his porch. At around 8:21PM, Samantha Kendrick was arrested for premeditated manslaughter. A SIG P226, previously registered with her now senile father, was confiscated, the handle bloddy, chamber empty.

Samantha was trialed and sentenced to four years and eight month in prison. The sentence was neither light nor harsh. The judge sympathised with her case but couldn't overlook the brutality of her deed. The demolished corpse of Steve Werr had made headlines. To Ben's dismay, his last loved one was incarcerated soon after. The grey routine of prison life began. Two month into her sentence, a panic broke inside the jail. The emergency alerts about the Dust had stirred a riot. In the commotion of the escape, guards and prisoners alike found themselves trampled, shot, or otherwise killed. Samantha, instinctively going into survival mode - just like her father had taught her - escaped. Ditching the prison close, she hijacked a car and hurried. Ben couldn't know of her escape, or he'd be in danger, too, and so she aimed for the nearby Kingsport. What exactly she wanted to do there, or really, anywhere, she did not know.

- Low natural strength - While her strong and disciplined personality makes up for it to an extent, Sam has to deal with her naturally lower strength. Being a woman - and a rather slim one at that - simply doesn't provide one with much muscle mass.
