The SS Virulent, a cruise ship on a huge tour of the alantic, has crashed on its tour of the world. It was heading for Madagascar offering up rock climbing, fine dining, tours and kayaking for it's customers. However a freak storm hit one day, sinking the boat and sending the various members of the cruise onto little lifeboats.
One lifeboat in particular holding ten people made it all the way to the island of makatea. This is a REAL island but in this roleplay I have made some changes to it and have only based it off of real life.
here is a summery.
Makatea is a French/Polynesian island
In real life there is a small population on Makatea, however in this instance, most of the population was wiped out by a disease which does not yet have a medical name, spread by a type of lizard native only to this island (A made up species which will be discussed later)
Most of the island is made up of dense forest, mostly uninhabitable dense rain forest, and there are small sections of land which were once mining towns where the Europeans mined Prosperous hundreds of years ago. So there are mines, abandoned medical centers, abandoned huts abandoned shops, a ghost town covered in plant life and almost complacently retaken by nature.
