at the forefront of the group, the front-man is leading them headfirst into their careers as idols. he's very charismatic, loved by fans and non-fans alike simply because of his charm. he excels at bringing the group together.

Biography

Kira is the eldest and only son of Ueno Hajime to his first wife, Aiko Ueno who ran off with another man a few years after Kira's birth. Hajime is a well-known and wealthy Japanese musician and is also the one who taught young Kira how to play his first instrument which was the piano. Upon seeing that the boy has potential, his father continued teaching him and enrolled him to various music lessons with nothing but the best teachers. Kira was home schooled and henceforth he never had much chance to socialize with children around his age which explains his somewhat detached demeanor.

He started joining music contests and ended up winning most of them. At the age of seven, he was already considered as a child prodigy in music.

Hajime remarried when Kira was nine years old and had another child a year later. This caused him to stop focusing on teaching Kira and it sparked a flame of jealousy inside the young boy. Ever since then, he had always felt as if he's the odd one out in the family. Nonetheless, he decided to focus even more on his passion in hopes that maybe one day his mother would see him and be proud enough to come back for him.

nickname: technically he has no nickname, but would secretly love for the rest of the group to call him affectionately by his first name.

appearance details: setsuna has bleached whitish-grey/drown hair that gets darker the longer it gets. when he's not performing, he typically wears it up in some sort of ponytail or bun. he has sleepy grey eyes and delicate eyelashes, which most people find striking. he's also incredibly pale, with dark shadows under his eyes, and is a bit underweight. he has both of his ears pierced multiple times, and has a small tattoo hidden behind his right ear.

history & Relationships

bio: setsuna grew up in a small apartment, with a mother who worked long hours to support the both of them. he spent a lot of his childhood as a latchkey kid, often feeding himself dinner and going to bed without even seeing his mother at all. his childhood was a bit lonely, because he was determined to go home immediately after school on the off chance that his mother would be coming home early (spoiler alert: she hardly ever was). in his time at home alone, he became especially enamored with music programs on television, which fostered his obvious love for music.

when he was in high school, his mother was hospitalized due to illness, leaving setsuna to get a part-time job to be able to support himself and help his mother pay hospital bills. this lead to an even deeper isolation between setsuna and his peers. his mother has remained in the hospital ever since, still not having recovered from her illness, leaving setsuna to live alone in their small apartment.

one day, he decided to audition for a talent company, thinking he could do what he loved and still support his family through work. he never expected to actually be hired, but, surprising everyone, he had a knack for performing. despite his shyness, he has come to deeply respect and even consider himself friends with the other members of the group. he hopes that they will become and continue to be largely successful, and while that want was born out of the desire to care for his mother, he also doesn't want his time with his new friends to end.

relationships:

• nikki- setsuna relies on nikkari almost like an older brother. he revels in the affection that the older male has to give, genuinely appreciating his comfort. setsuna often thinks that nikkari is his family that takes care of him in his mother’s absence. out of most of the band members, setsuna spends the most time with nikki outside of idol events or rehearsals. however, sometimes setsuna can get too into his head, worrying that he’s too clingy and annoying to the older male, causing him to go out of his way to avoid the other so that he doesn’t “waste his time.”
• kira- setsuna strongly looks up to kira and admires his talent and work ethic. he will often ask the other boy for advice or help practicing, because he wants to improve himself--he would definitely love to make kira proud of the work he's doing.
• tatsuo- honestly, setsuna is a bit frightened of tatsuo. he's scared that somehow, he will do something to annoy him or make him angry, so he often shies away from the older boy, despite wanting to be friends. he'd rather be ignored than hated.
• koketsu- setsuna wishes he could be more like koketsu and could almost be seen as an "obedient follower." he pays close attention to everything koketsu does and listens to what he has to say--he probably wishes he could be more like him.
• hinata- setsuna likes hinata well enough, because the two of them spend the most time with nikkari and they both obviously depend on him for support. he definitely admires hinata's talent, especially considering his younger age, and would like to become closer friends, but is a bit too afraid to take that first step.

Nikkari Eotashi is a name known where he lives. He is mostly known for his father, who was a rich business man and he owned a very successful company. When he died from a massive car wreck, Nikkari was given all his money, because he was the only son of his father and his mother. At first, he really didn't care much for the money, because he had already seen that he had everything he needed and wanted, and he didn't take the money as an advantage either. Most of it, he still keeps stored away for better keeping when the time comes.

He has a very friendly personality, and he's learned to cope ever since his father died. As a result of many therapy sessions with a trustworthy and helpful therapist, he's learned to be caring and kind, instead of letting out all his stress and anger onto one person because of his own fathers death. Alongside his friendly personality, he can be really flirtatious and touchy. He loves giving hugs and forehead kisses, and he loves giving cuddles, no matter the gender for his sexuality says so.

His flirty and outgoing nature plays a big part in his ego. As he lives for the attention, he enjoys and loves bathing in compliments and getting attention from his fellow friends and acquaintances, and even his parents. Yet, he doesn't mean any harm, and he tries his best not to be narcassistic around others, because he understands how annoying it can get, when someone is bragging about how good they look to you.

more appearance facts | Nikkari is a mesomorph, and he enjoys spending time trying to keep himself fit. Even though snacks may tempt him sometimes to stray from his diet, he keeps himself under control for the most part, but he may sneak a few snacks in here and there, and he claims they're called break days. He has one piercing on his right ear, which is usually hidden by his hair, but it's only sometimes when the piercing is seen. It looks similar to this : X. He doesn't have any tattoos because he claims they're just a waste of space on his body, no matter how small the tattoo is. He also thinks that they look unappealing as well.

setsuna | Nikkari finds Setsuna close to a brother. He wouldn't see him as anything but family. He loves to make him lunches, dinner, breakfast, just like he would with all the other members, but knowing that Setsuna loves being nurtured like a child, Nikkari does nothing but. He cuddles him and gives him kisses when he needs them, and he finds him adorable sometimes. Even with Setsuna being one inch taller than Nikkari, Nikkari finds himself being the bigger person in most situations between the two. He also enjoys doing Setsuna's hair just as much as he loves doing his own. He enjoys braiding it, and then letting it own the next day in curly waves and what not. Even though Setsuna might not like it, Nikkari finds it very amusing and adorable. I think it would be adorable for them to be seen cooking breakfast together, or possibly going live together during their first concert.

tatsuo | I feel like Nikkari would really like annoying Tatsuo, knowing that he doesn't really enjoy when he does so. He understands what he's gone through, which is the result of him hugging on him and telling him that he means a whole lot to him. He tries to tell him that he's been through some of the same things that he's been through, and he wants to show him that he's not all clingy, and he understands how he feels. He understands that he's jealous, and he wants to make him feel better than he does now. He wishes to make a relationship with Tatsuo like he does with Setsuna. I could see Nikkari ruffling through his hair and cooing at him, knowing he doesn't like it all that much.

kira | I can see Nikkari asking Kira a whole lot of questions, about what he likes to do, or what he enjoys doing so he could become better friends with him. Even though Nikkari really doesn't like bossy and controlling people because they remind him of his father, he could put up with Kira only at sometimes. He could be caught yelling at him sometimes because he tells him what to do too many times, but most of the time, he would be seen hugging on him and kissing his cheek and forehead like he does with the other members. Yet, he does give Kira more love than he does to the other members, and probably more skinship because he knows he hasn't experienced some one so close to him.

hinata | Nikkari and Hinata are another two that are like brothers to each other. Even though Nikkari thinks that everyone is brothers to him, he sees certain ones more.. brotherly than others. He loves spending time with Hinata. He thinks that they go hand in hand with each other, because they're both clingy, and Nikkari feels that he can ask for cuddles from Hinata whenever he wants and he would more than likely give them to him. He can relate to Hinata a lot because their Nikkari had lost both of his parents, while Hinata had lost his mother. Nikkari feels like he could be the family that Hinata was never able to have.. He likes the idea of thinking of it that way. I think it would be adorable to see Nikkari coming into Hinata's room in the middle of the night because he wants cuddles and hugs. And I could see Nikkari giving Hinata his sweaters because he knows how much he likes them, even though they may be big on him.

Nikkari Eotashi lived with both his parents, Aiko, his mother, and Miraki, his father. His father was the CEO of a well-known famous business, which Nikkari had no idea about until he was about 16, and his mother just owned a Japanese desert shop that wasn't too far from their house. Nikkari was never interested in becoming part of his father's business, because he knew his father was a very controlling business man, and he would never want him to become both his boss and his father.

Hence, he had always helped his mother out with her well-known Japanese desert shop as well. Mostly because he wanted to try out and eat the deserts she would make. Nonetheless, he loved his mother dearly, and even though she had owned a small shop, which was nowhere near as big as where his father worked, he looked up to her, and not his father. Her deserts were awesome, but her love for Nikkari was much more than just that.

He had learned to have a great love for cooking, working for his mother, which is why he's seen doing it so much now. That and baking are his two specialties, and he has no shame in admitting it. Whilst he was working for his mother, he had found a love in both dancing and singing. As they would work in the kitchen, they would often listen to music together, and they would listen to the same songs over, and over, and over again. But Nikkari found absolutely no problem in doing that. He found that listening to the same songs for such a long while can literally get embedded in your brain, and now when he hears those same songs, he can sing it from heart.

His mother said he had a voice of an angel, but his father wasn't on board with the whole singing and dancing thing. He figured that singing and dancing was only for girls, and girl groups. His father was usually nagging him about coming to join his business with him, but Nikkari had always turned the offer down, no matter how much money he would bribe him with. His mother always had told him to not let money get in the way of things you love, except.. when the money is targetted towards something you love. Even for her old age, she would always tell Nikkari that he would have no problem at all becoming a singer or dancer, or both to become an idol. But his father still had said no.

Nikkari was then 18, and this was the year his father died in the massive car accident. Yes, Nikkari was sad, and he felt guilty when he was given the money from his father's death that was apparently on his will. He didn't know a whole bunch about this funeral stuff, and how the money was distributed, but he knew he as't going to spend it all right away. His mother was the person who told him he shoulder. He should at least cherish the money, because it was his fathers. And he had no problem at all with doing so. He still worked for his mother in her desert shop, and he wasn't going to become the next CEO of his father's business.. He swore to himself that he wasn't going to do that.

As Nikkari's love for both singing and dancing grew, he took up the offer on many auditions that he's seen around, and he's taken no hesitation to go to the auditioning location and try to audition to be in a boy band or idol group of some sort. Most of them, he was turned down, but he told himself that wasn't going to get him down. He wasn't going to stop until he had figured out who was going to take him for his talent, and then everyone will see who Nikkari Eotashi really is.

fears: he has a distinct feeling like he doesn't belong in the group, like his presence here is an accident

history + relations

Tatsuo was born into poverty. His parents barely made enough money between the two of them to support themselves, so it's safe to say that Tatsuo was an unplanned child. An only child, Tatsuo spent most of his childhood alone at home, doing homework and cleaning the relatively small apartment they lived in. When his mother got home from her day job, she'd help him cook dinner before his dad got home, and then they'd eat together as a family before his mom went out to her night job. His dad spent his nights bouncing between part-time jobs over the years .

It happened rather suddenly one night. Tatsuo was in middle school, and his mother had been late coming home. He prepared dinner on his own - it wasn’t a big deal, sometimes work kept her longer than expected, and there were quite a few nights she didn’t come home for dinner at all, running straight from one job to the other. Shortly after dinner, however, the phone rang. Tatsuo’s dad picked it up, and after a brief conversation, fell very quiet. Tatsuo’s mother had been hit by a car on the way to work. The driver hadn’t been watching where he was going, distracted somehow when he ran her over.

The funeral took a lot out of their budget. Tatsuo’s dad took up drinking that night, and has hardly been sober since. While he never laid a hand on Tatsuo, the emotional weight of caring for a grieving father while also dealing with his own grief weight on the boy. He took up a part time job, and a second one once his father was fired from his day job. Stress between work and school was getting to Tatsuo, and he began acting out in frustration. Fights were picked, mean words were thrown, and Tatsuo transformed from a sweet and caring guy into something of a delinquent.

He never had the heart to tell his father that he had been expelled from high school, though if he hadn’t been expelled, he wouldn’t have had the time to audition for the idol group. Tatsuo had always loved music - it had been music that got him through his mother’s death and helped him carry the weight of his father’s grief. He didn’t expect to be called back after the audition, nonetheless accepted into the group. He’s kept himself closed off from the rest of the group, not really feeling the need to open up to his coworkers about his home life, but he knows he can’t stay alone forever.

• nikkari - Tatsuo finds Nikki to be too clingy and affectionate for his tastes. He can tell Nikki has gone through something in his past, but has a level of disdain for him if only because Nikki could afford the counseling that Tatsuo can not, and is slightly jealous that Nikki was able to come to terms with his trauma.
• kira - Tatsuo perceives Kira to be a bit obnoxious at times with his overly critical and aloof personality, but enjoys spending quiet time reading together. Out of all the band members, Tatsuo finds himself coming to Kira when he needs a break or some peace.
• setsuna - Tatsuo doesn't really know what to make of Setsuna. He's clingy like Nikki, but not in the affectionate sense. To Tatsuo, it feels more like Setsuna is trying to find someone to latch on to as if they were family, or a parental type. On one hand, Tatsuo wants to be that rock for him. On the other, Tatsuo resents the needy and helpless nature of the act. Tatsuo already has one burden to deal with, why would he want another?

LOOKS / PERSONA

Koketsu doesn't have any tattoos or piercings, because he just doesn't like the idea of getting hurt. He has been told that both tatoos and piercings hurt when you get them, and anything that hurts, Koketsu doesn't want to take part in it. Other than shots, because those of course are needed. He only has a little bit of muscle on him, he's not a big buff male, but he has enough muscle on him to not be disgustingly lanky. He has a somewhat lean figure, because he sticks to the diet that has been put in place for the group, and he has been eating healthy before he's even come into the UtaPri male idol group. He has fiery red hair, and it could be spot in a crowd easily, which he loves about himself. He has golden, almost yellow eyes that can pierce into someone's soul if he really was mad enough to do so.

His eyebrows are usually arched, and if not, they're pulled in in confusion. He's thinks of himself since he's the leader he should have a bright personality and motivate his group members with that personality of his. He has a bandaid that he wears on his nose a whole lot, and he thinks that nobody has ever really seen the bridge of his nose, for it's always covered up with that damned bandaid. But sometimes he takes it off. He thinks it gives him more of a playful look.

fears : losing those he loves, and being recruited out of the group. he has a small feeling that the members in his group think he's too controlling or too bossy.

BIO / RELATIONS

Koketsu's story is somewhat happy. He was only able to have one parent, his father. His mother leaving him only months after he was born. His father believed that his mother wanted a divorce because she knew that the father would be able to take care of Koketsu on his own. Even though it was a sad departure from each other, Koketsu's mother seemed to have no remorse or regret for her decisions. His father worked a job as a kindergarten teacher a a kindergarten by their apartment. He was taken to a daycare when he was just a couple months old, because his father couldn't take care of him because of his job. The daycare that he went to was run by many people that were middle-aged, and they were reliable people. His father found it hard to pay the people for the daycare because his job really didn't pay that much to take care of the both of them, and pay for the daycare as well.

When Koketsu was about four years old, his father was beginning to get careless. He started to not care so much about his job, and he started to skip work days, and continued to ask for substitutes to come in for him during the days he didn't want to come in. Koketsu really didn't understand the whole concept of it all, so his father just told him that they were days that he wanted to spend time with him, even though that Koketsu knew that his father rarely spent time with him on these days. He spent most of the time sleeping in the bed and on his computer playing computer games. As time passed, his father continued to not give a crap about his job.

When Koketsu had turned 15, he was old enough to get a job, and actually understand the concepts and tricks that his dad was playing on him. He had gotten a job right away, and he started working at a daycare that seemed to pay enough. As he saw his dad basically deteriorate from what he once was, Koketsu began to get a little worried about his father. He had become the one that was starting to give orders, and he motivated his father to do his best and get another job so they could be happy together in their apartment, and so they could live life to the fullest. A couple years passed, and Koketsu was now 18. His father had gotten a job, and he had learned to make choices on his own, after Koketsu had taught him once again how important it was to take care of his own son.

This is why Koketsu is so commanding, because he had to be a boss to his own father when he was only at the age of 15. He doesn't want to explain to his members the whole problem, because it makes him emotional every time he talks about the story.. Even when he talks about his own father sometimes, so he prefers not to speak about either. He tries to keep a happy face on, both for the crowd and his members.

Sunny comes from a upper class family. His father is Japanese and is a renowned Restaurateur and celebrity chef. His own a variety of restaurants around the world but mostly in his home city of Tokyo. Sunny’s mother is from France and came from old money. Due to being an only child she inherited her family’s wealth when her parents passed away. She was a fashion designer and owned her own brand is cosmetics. Sunny grew up in a loving environment up until the death of his mother. His family would often spend time together, whether it was for dinner or his parents had taken the day off. He had a wonderful life. Sunny was enrolled in a top notch private school and was popular amongst his fellow students.

When Sunny was only eight years old his mother passed away. While on a plane ride to Paris for fashion week something went wrong and the plane crashed, no one survived the incident. Sunny and his father heard of it over the news. Her body was never found but still a funeral was held for her. The relationship between Sunny and his father began to strain. Sunny reminded him so much of his law wife, with his light blonde hair and blue eyes. He pushed his son away, using material things to make up for his absence.

Sunny was upset of course, not understanding why things were happening. The loving environment in which he grew up in had gone. Sunny continued to smile however and use his pain to motivate himself. He turned his feelings into beautiful music and songs. People around him are happy to see that he has moved on from the pain of his past or so it seems.

Relationships:
Nikkari - Sunny views Nikkari as an older brother, but given that he’s the youngest he feels this way about the others as well. Hinata is closer to Nikkari because of how they complement one another. He enjoys spending time with him and basking in the affection that he tends to give out. Sunny feels like he can talk to Nikkari about his feelings in regard to his family or lack thereof. He was born into a decent household, a loving mother and father and all that. He was their first and last kid. The parents loved Takumi with all their heart. He grew up in a two-story house in a decent neighborhood near a middle and High school. He was a good kid, made a bit of trouble but was mostly obedient and because of that whenever he asked for something he was usually allowed to. So when he asked to be in after-school clubs one after another, they said yes. Doting on him whenever it came to school. Takumi always was a quick learner but due to the clubs he had joined helped to sharpen said skill. By the time he had made it to his second year in High school, the teen had grown a knack for most hands-on things. His parents continued to Dote on their son. During his third high school year, Takumi began to do Covers on the internet. He continued until he graduated. Stopping as he decided to focus on his job at the time.
