Ugh… work

Lord Death will be visiting class today.

Hiro sighed as he saw the note on his desk, wishing that knew who had been smart enough to leave him a reminder of the one thing he had forgotten. If Lord Death would be visiting, that meant he had to be awake and that meant he might have to teach. The lazy man’s eyes wandered upwards as he tried to recall whether or not Miyako would be in class today because he knew he would get out of teaching if she didn’t have anything else going on today.

“Why today?” Hiro whined although even he knew that no one could hear him. Quickly he swiped up his planner to make it look like he had something prepared for lecture today - of course, there was nothing actually written in it, but no one had to know that.

As he walked down the halls, Hiro tried to remember what they had covered in yesterday’s class. He should quiz the students on it. Teachers did that, right? He thought they did. Heck, maybe I could even give them a test! The thought

pleased him very much. Hiro liked test days. He didn’t have to do anything. No… then I would have to write one. His shoulders visibly fell as he turned and walked into their classroom as he realized he was the first one there.

His eyes flickered to the sticky note still on his planner. Stupid sticky note! You made me put in effort to get here early! It was only after he glared at the estranged piece of paper that his eyes turned to the clock.

Well, then… the students have a half an hour to get to class. I suppose that might be enough time. With that thought in mind, Hiro curled up on the desk at the front of the classroom, passing out almost instantly.

Enter the Grim Reaper

An eerie noise echoed through the classroom as the defenseless teacher rested his eyes.

[Tick-tock.] It was a message, a warning, if only the teacher would listen.

ノート: Yo! This is a metaphor detailing my approach to the classroom. Get it?

[Tick-tock.] The foreshadowing of Death loomed over him as the danger grew closer.[Tick-tock.] Death knocked on the door. [Knick-knock.] Then, Death lingered above the table. [shick-shock.] Death chose his sentence and reached for his scythe, [Click-clock] and called out his name...

[Ding-dong-dead-dong.]

“Professor Hiro Mitsaki? You do know your class starts in fifteen minutes, right? Tick-tock, look at the clock. Let’s get going. Give me your spiel, huh? What’s my former Death Scythe got for today?”
questioned Lord Death.

Upon hearing the voice of Lord Death practically standing over the top of him, Hiro jumped as his state of sleep completely vanished while his arm assumed the partial transformation that was his trademark. A blast filled the room as a shot was fired towards the ceiling and pieces rained down nearly on top of them. “Huh?” Hiro finally said after he looked around to see only his boss. “What was that again?” Returning to human form, Hiro rubbed the sleep from his eyes before they fell onto the sticky note once more. “Lord Death is visiting class today… yes. That’s the plan for today.”

Lord Death raised an eyebrow before responding, “Yes, Lord Death is visiting class today. I was wondering, when will he be coming in? I would like to speak to him on the quality of his teaching staff.”

We do have a few requests of our students to help us get things moving quickly. Everyone will write an introductory post. At the end of that post, we ask that you are seated in the classroom so that class can start as soon as everyone has posted. Class will start when everyone has found a seat.

If you would like to post more than once in this first round in order to interact with more people, that is fine. Please make sure you are seated in the classroom at the end of every post, though, that way when we are ready to move forward, we are able to without having to wait for people to sit down again.

Also, please note that it is not the first day of school. Classes have been in session for about a month now so even if you are NEW, you have been attending classes for about a month. It is quite possible that you do already know your weapon partner and some other people in your class. If you would like to flashback to the first day within your post, that is perfectly acceptable.

that he was the first student there. The younger boy’s eyes flickered towards the professor and Lord Death although he jumped back a bit at the sight of the Grim Reaper. Is he mad at me because I still haven’t managed to make a friend to be my meister? Jayce couldn’t help but wonder. I’ll bet that’s it.. At the thought of it, his shoulders visibly sunk as he took a breath and made his way to a seat.

Jayce walked all the way to the back row seeing as he was the first person there. It was the easiest way to avoid the inevitable stare that would come from whoever entered the classroom next. Jayce knew that if it was the right person, he was already in for a deadly glare regardless of where he sat, so the further away he was, the less likely it would be that he would have to confront them.

Then again, there was always the chance that someone else would walk in. He wanted to be friendly to the new classmates; they might actually want to be his friend, after all. Then again, Jayce knew that wouldn't last long. Once they heard about what had happened, he imagined they would cut and run just like everyone else.

Eden Kizuna (Weapon)

Alert

"Hrrrrmph...." A stretched out, deeply annoyed groan bounced off the corridor walls, slowly making its way through the hallway to announce Eden's arrival. He walked faster than usual, probably as fast as he could without actually sprinting. His hands in his pocket and his brows sitting low, painting the picture of a rather grumpy young man, he ra... walked as quick as he could, not wanting to risk being late. Why out of all days had he had to mess up his own scheduele? Just as Eden passed two chattering students, one of them, a female with long hair tugged at his hoodie's sleeve. "Hey, Eden, could you...?" "NO!" He barked out his answer like a stray dog defending its puppies, then pulled his arm away from her, now only looking angrier.

Then, they came into his sight. Students. A lot of them. Eden swallowed hard, preparing himself for the ultimate challenge. One deep breath later, he was ready. "Out of the way! Sorry! Student coming through! Move! I'm late! There's space there! God damn it, MOVE CHILD!" He dodged and pushed his way through the thickly filled corridor, figuratively sending students flying left and right. Finally, he had made it past them, and a sigh of relief left his body.

Picking up his old speed again, Eden could finally see the door. Inhaling deeply one last time to regain his absolute cool, he grabbed the handle and stepped into the room. Only one other student was there yet, then of course, their teacher, looking as confused and directionless as usual ("Ugh...") and... Lord Death? Instantly, his body tightened up, and he essentially marched to his seat. "Good morning, Mister Mitsaki! Good morning, Lord Death!" he said in an unusually disciplined tone, as if he was replying to a drill sergeant, then let himself sink behind his desk, waiting for class to begin.

Deryn Nicole Renoir

Name:Deryn Nicole Renoir

Status: NEW

Classification: Meister

Partner: None

Deryn walked into the classroom, loving the swish of her modified skirt around her legs. Another morning, another class, another good grade. She didn't have too many friends here at the DWMA yet, but she didn't mind too much. Her grades were decent, she liked all her professors, and she trusted everything would work out in time. After all, there were hundreds of students at this school. She would meet one to be her partner eventually, right?

As she walked into the classroom, she spotted Lord Death standing next to the professor. She gave a nod to the both of them. "Good morning Professor. Good morning, Lord Death" She sang with a bright smile. She hopped up the steps, her short legs making a rhythmic patter patter as she went to the back of the lecture hall and plopped down in a seat close to the center.

She got the best acoustics here. She pulled out her blue notebook, and dug around her her coat pocket for the pencil and sharpener she used to take notes. She hated mechanical pencils, for reasons even she couldn't explain, but she liked her pencils deadly sharp, so she always carried a mini pencil sharpener to class.

She turned to the two empty seats beside her, smiled to herself, and waited.. Maybe she would make a real friend today, beyond all the people who got her name and never spoke to her gain. Perhaps she would meet her destined weapon. Or heck, maybe she would just have to wait until Ellie got there in a few years and make her her weapon. She laughed at the thought of little Ellie as her weapon.

Hotaru Yukishiro

Nickname: Mirage

Classification: EAT Meister

Partner: Ren Ichisayame

Feeling: Curious
Fiddling around with a deck of novelty Death City playing cards, Hotaru practiced shuffling them as she strolled to class. It wasn't like there was a reason to hurry. There was still, what, fifteen minutes until class? Maybe someone didn't get that memo as she heard the commotion of someone shouting up ahead of her. Perplexed students and knocked over papers were left in whoever it was's wake. How convenient for her, a walkway. She had to take the chance to sashay through while she still could. She strutted through the confusion, cards flipping around her hands. Man, she was getting really good at it; she could still remember the first time when the cards practically exploded in her face.

At the door of (hell no was she calling him Professor, he barely even said anything) Mitsaki's class, she pocketed the deck and entered the room. She must have been early, there were only five people in the room. Three were her classmates, one was the teacher and the other was - oh. Hotaru turned her head to get a better look. Black cloak, skull mask, huge white block hands? Damn, that hit all the check marks for Lord Death.

"Morning Lord Death. Oh, and you too Mitsaki," Hotaru said. She walked up to a seat in the front and sat down. Not even bothering to get her supplies out yet, she continued watching the two in front of her and kept her ears listening to any conversations she would inevitably end up hearing in the quiet room. She fiddled with the cards again. King of spades, Jack of clubs, how do we do? Fine, thought the Eight of diamonds until she looked at the Four of hearts. Not so fine.

KATARINA ATALI MONTBLANC | NOT MEISTER | THE OFFICIAL IDIOT & DUMBERSleeping like there's tomorrow, without changing out of her uniform from yesterday, she had fallen asleep on her desk while writing a letter to her parents. Like always her snores were loud and unladylike, and a puddle of drool had formed on top of her desk which was hidden among the stacks of papers. Staying in a position for so long, she had needed to move to become more comfortable. She soon began to sleep talk as her internal clock had signaled it was time to put something in her mouth. "Nnn...cupcakes..donuts...pizza, ah, don't run away! I'll only have a bite~"

Unknowingly she stood up, and before she could take a bite she woke up confused. "Eh? Where's the cake?" She looked around, left and right. She then rubbed her eyes, and scanned the room again, only beginning to realize that she was currently in her apartment room 5 minutes later. "No way! Then...the cake was a lie?!" She muttered in realization. She stood still for awhile, unable to accept reality.

After brooding for a bit, she soon paid attention to her desk. "...Geh!" In one motion she flipped through her papers, noticing that most of what she wrote was now illegible, and soaked with her drool. "Guh...I spent 3 hours on this!!" Panicking, her mind began processing possible solutions she should do. *Nope nothing. Nada. Blank as always.* "Ugh, then what am I suppose to do!" She began to talk to herself, holding the roots of her hair.

She finally calmed down as she relaxed, and giggled, finding her answer. "Fue~ Guess I'll copy Hashitan's...again." She soon completely erased the memory of him saying this was the last time he'll allow her to copy yesterday. "Oh Katarina, you're such a genius~"

Praising herself, she begun to get ready for school. Humming she took her time brushing her hair, and getting dressed. Then for a good amount of time she looked at herself in the mirror. *Yup, still cute.* Making sure everything was perfect, as well as taking her time eating breakfast. She had eventually skipped peacefully into the school, right before the gates had closed.

Lazily without a care in the world, she took her time coming to the classroom at the last moment. As if nothing was wrong she hummed, as she glanced around the room to find Hashitan. She soon hopped towards the seat next to him, and greeted him. "Hey Dumb~"

Ivy "Phobos" Landvick and "The Piano Man" Demetri Voclain

Character: Ivy "Phobos" Landvik

Classification: Meister

Status: EAT

Rank: 3 Stars

Sweat dripped down Ivy’s forehead as she raised the barbell and lowered it back to her chest. Most normal people would have someone spot them when lifting the kind of wight’s Ivy was lifting but as far as she was concerned, if the dumbbell fell on her then it was her fault for being too we. Most people in the DWMA could tell you though, that Ivy was far from weak. Ivy let out a breath through her teeth as she pushed back on the dumbbell and focused on the burning muscles in her arms.

Character: "The Piano Man" Demetri Voclain

Classification: Weapon

Status: EAT

Weapon Type: Battle Axe

Demetri lay in the corner on a bench in the DWMA gym, completely engrossed in the sounds coming out of his oversized headphones. He’d rather be playing one of his numerous musical instruments but most people at the gym didn’t like it when you played over their generic repetitive work out music. Suddenly a ringing noise interrupted his music as the bell rang, signaling the impending doom of school. Demetri sighed as he shut off his music.

“Ivy,” He called out to his meister. “Class.”

“Urgh.” Ivy groaned, her face scrunched up in displeasure. She sat up, the dumbbell still in her hands, before tossing it haphazardly away from her. A poor student who had just gotten off of the elliptical got hit with gigantic dumbbell and was now pinned down by it.

Demetri ignored his meister’s blatant disregard for the exercise equipment and the safety of others as he stuffed his headphones and music player into his back and slung it over his shoulder.

Ivy grabbed her bag as well, before shooting a look to the poor student trapped on the floor. “You’re going to be late for class you know? Wimp.” She scoffed, before she exited the weight room with Demetri on her heels.

As the two of them walked down the hallway, most of the students quickly scurried out of Ivy’s way. The ones who didn’t, whether they weren't paying attention or new to the school, got knocked over by a irritated Ivy if they didn’t walk fast enough in front of her. Almost as soon as Ivy had entered the academy had she cemented her reputation as one of the meanest and violent students to grace these halls, with Demetri trailing her like a shadow. It was advisable to avoid her, as many people found out. Neither of them seemed to care about their lack of friends though, in fact it was almost as though they preferred it that way.

The pair entered the classroom and picked out seats in the back. Ivy kicked her feet on top of her desk and sat there as if she owned the place and anyone who disagreed would get a punch to the face. Demetri sat next to her, slumped in his seat, looking as if he would rather be anywhere but there.

Hashitan Lace

Hashitan was exhausted. He had forgotten to turn on his pendulum for when he slept, not expecting to fall asleep at his desk having a video conferencing with his father, and had been restless through the entire night. "It could be worse, right Hashi?" He murmured to himself as he grabbed his facecloth and

dampened it.

His mind wandered to Katarina and he chuckled rolling his eyes. Hashitan had decided to check on his meister late last night before heading to his apartment and had found her drooling so bad that it had began to puddle into the papers laying next to her. As a bit of a cruel joke, he removed the papers before they were completely ruined and replaced them with some old papers from last year. Once he arrived at school, he would give them to her, but at the moment he was more focused on waking the dead; better known as Dumb Lace.

Scrubbing intensely, Hashitan found himself waking up a little more and with a much more prominent purpose to his actions.
"You could have fallen asleep doing an important piece of work, but you didn't. You may have lost a few precious hours of sleep, but you've also ceased dad's worrying for the moment." He brushed out his hair, checking for any loose strands and quickly brushed his teeth before heading out the door to the DWMA.

It didn't take him long to reach the school, and so he decided to wait at the entrance of the building, scanning the swarm of students for his unique meister.

Maybe it was the lack of sleep, or the chill in the air that caused Hashitan to struggle so hard on keeping his patience, but after 5 minutes he could not stay out there any longer, and decided to wait for his meister in class.

Slipping into the classrooom, Hashitan headed for the center of the classroom, looking on in confusion at the sight of Lord Death as he sat down.

Alessandra Volkov and Jayce Hammerkin

Nickname: Alessa Wolf

Classification: Meister

Partner: --

Feeling: Anxious
Biting her lip, Alessandra was fairly certain it was obvious she was trembling. While she had been a student at the DWMA for about a month, she still hadn’t gotten the courage to try and approach someone and make a friend. She sighed.

“Maybe I should have gone with what mother wanted…”
the young red-head muttered, walking down the hallway to her first class. “I have no idea how to talk to people…”

Pausing in front of the tall door, she took in a deep breath before gently pushing it open and walking inside. Glancing around the room, she took some comfort in the fact that she was one of the first few people there.

Squeaking at the sight of Lord Death, she quickly skirted around the two adults and rushed towards the back of the room sliding into a seat, unaware of the other student nearby.

Jayce’s eyes perked up at the sight of one of the new girls. He had seen her in class before, but she always looked really nervous and he didn’t want to scare her or anything. However, that didn’t stop him from smiling as she walked towards the back of the room and took a seat rather close to where he found himself. His eyes flickered between her and Lord Death as he realized he really needed to find a meister.

Taking a deep breath and hoping that none of the rumors about him had reached her ears yet, Jayce slid two seats so that he was right next to her. “Hi!” he exclaimed. It wasn’t extremely loud, but it carried with it a certain enthusiasm that Jayce was very good at pulling off.

Jumping at the sudden voice, Alessandra let out another squeak as she started to fall off her chair, her skinny arms shooting out to grab the edge of the desk to keep her upright.

Flushing in embarrassment she looked away from the boy beside her before shyly glancing at him again from the corner of her eyes. “H-hi…” she stuttered, fingers playing with the tail of her braid.

Jayce was a bit surprised to see her jump at the sound of his voice although he didn’t exactly show it. He knew what he wanted to ask, but at this point he was unsure of how to go about such a thing. “I’m sorry,” he apologized quickly. “Um… I’m Jayce!” he exclaimed again, holding out her hand to her. “You’re new here, right?”

His last sentence contained the slightest hint of nervousness as though he was afraid that the statement was wrong. His eyes flickered towards the entrance of the classroom quickly, hoping that none of the older students would walk in and spoil everything.

“O-oh, it’s fine…”
she murmured quickly, shaking his hand. “I-I’m Alessandra...uh, you can call me Alessa. O-oh, o-only if you want!” she stammered quickly, her eyes shooting up to meet his before she ducked her head. “I-I don’t mean to be pushy or anything…..and um, yes. I’m new. I’ve been here maybe about a month…”

Twisting her fingers in her lap, she wondered why Jayce was talking to her. Wouldn’t he have seen her in class before? Or did he not? She was pretty small. Glancing up at him again, she watched as he glanced towards the door of the classroom.

“Um...is everything okay?”
she asked softly.

Her words jerked his attention back to her although he did jump slightly and hesitate before replying, “Yes, everything is fine!” He tried to make his voice sound sure, but it didn’t quite work. “I… Lord Death is in class today and it scares me. I don’t want to get kicked out for not having a partner... You have a partner, right?”

In all honesty, Jayce had no idea on what her answer would be. Usually new students were paired up pretty quickly from what he could remember. He hadn’t even been in classes for a day before he received his first meister.

At his words, her head shot up, panic clouding her mind. “Wh-what?!” Alessandra squeaked. “You can get kicked out for not having a partner?” she fretted. “Oh...what am I going to do?! I haven’t even been able to talk to someone in the month I’ve been here, much less get a partner….Oh mother will be so upset with me…” she trailed off, her eyes filling with tears.

“No no no!!”
Jayce blurted quickly as he realized that he had quite honestly terrified the poor girl. Reaching towards her, he hesitated slightly but decided against his hesitation as he placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “You should be fine… it’s just me, honestly! It's been so long since I’ve had a partner.”

Jayce sighed slightly as he tried to keep himself calm in his current conundrum. His eyes flickered to Lord Death again and then back to Alessandra only to see her tears. Shaking his head, he smiled and said, “Don’t cry.” Raising his hand from her shoulder, the young boy wiped a tear from her cheek. “You gotta be strong here.”

Alessandra sniffed slightly, staring up at Jayce as he tried to comfort her. “You mean it? Cause if they really do try and kick me out, I don’t know what I’ll do….” she trailed off, glancing down at her lap again.

Taking a deep breath as she worked to calm herself, she realized what he had said. “Wh-what do you mean? Why haven’t you had a partner in so long…?” she asked.

Now it was Jayce’s turn to stare at his lap. “No one wants to be my meister,” he breathed softly. It wasn’t something he liked to admit.

“Why do you say that? No one would be that mean to you would they?”

“They think I did something… something bad,”
Jayce sighed. Suddenly his head jerked up again and his eyes met with Alessandra’s in a way that showed he was dead serious. “But I didn’t! I swear to God I didn’t!”

Startled slightly at his sudden intensity, Alessandra jerked slightly before what he said hit her. “B-but….but that’s not nice at all….” she said, trying to make sense of it. “If you didn’t do it...then they should believe you and still be your friend. That’s how friends work right? You stay by them in hard times?”

Furrowing her brow as she tried to remember what she knew about people being friends, Alessandra bit her lip before looking up at Jayce with a sudden determination. “I believe you…! I-I’ll be your friend!”

Jayce smiled at her, surprised by the turn it had taken. “You will? Really?” His eyes widened with slight shock. “Um… do you… are you… do you need a weapon partner?” His eyes trailed off slightly although at the end they barely managed to return and meet hers.

A small excited and embarrassed flush spread across her cheeks, Alessandra nodded. “O-of course!” she told him happily, the idea of successfully making a friend delighting her even more. Mother and Father would definitely be proud of her for taking such a huge step!

“Weapon partner?”
she questioned aloud. “Well, I don’t think I’ve been assigned one yet, so I guess so.” she said before her eyes lit up. “Oh! Couldn’t we be partners?”

“If you would be willing to have me…”
Jayce’s voice was slightly hopeful, but it lacked the confidence and enthusiasm that he had previously shown he was capable of. It wasn’t that he wasn’t excited. He didn’t want to get his hopes up over nothing.

“I’m a khopesh. It’s kinda like a sword, but not really. Um… is that ok?”
Once again he was hesitant. He wanted this; he really did. He had never wanted anything more in his life. However, he had seen it slip through his fingers so many times as well and it showed.

“I don’t know much about khopeshes but I can do some research! I’d love to be your partner!”
she chirped, quickly feeling more relaxed now that she had made her first friend. Maybe this wasn’t so hard after all!

Noel Van Agthoven

Codename : Chromo

Partner(s) : Tora and Tao Kamineko

Status : Meister | NEW

In the Moment... : Desperate

He always thought having two partners was a privilege. Hell, maybe even a blessing. After all, what were the chances of having two comrades to count on to have your back and to make it to the top? The more the merrier. Two friends were always better than just one. Plus, the number three had always been his lucky number. Or maybe that was what he liked to think.

Boy, was I naive back then....

Okay, maybe he was exaggerating. The current situations wasn't as bad as he makes it sound. Troublesome. Yes, that's the word. Just a minor setback on the road towards the future. See, it even inspired him to sound like an eloquent person. Wait, was that expression even remotely "eloquent material"? Probably not but, hey, a guy can dream.

No, no, no, he wasn’t complaining. Well, he was. But it’s not like he’s badmouthing them!

He can understand that waking up early in the morning can be hard. Especially when it has to be someone else to do it. But one has to remember that this “someone” has it hard too by making sure that the person refusing to get out of bed does not miss class. And that role has been filled by none other than Noel himself, as he quite literately drags Tao to their classroom by her jacket, accompanied by Tora, who didn’t seem to be interested in giving him a hand anytime soon. Well, it wasn’t like the former was THAT heavy, not in the slightest, but one would appreciate the thought.

He should be used to this already, it has been a month. But that did not stop him from letting a sigh escape his lips. Even if he kept smiling as gently as always, one could tell this was not a habit he would easily get used to.

Think of this as bonding, Noel, bonding.

He kept telling himself as he and his two partners finally reached their destination. Letting Tao go, he turned to face the two mischievous twins, placing his hands on his waist. But soon turned his back at them once again.
This…just now…deja-vu… Shaking his head, clearing his head of such thoughts, he entered the classroom in heavy steps. He found himself taken by the sight of Lord Death by the teacher’s side, blinking his eyes in silence. But soon this reaction would turn out to be only momentary.

Noel graced the two adults with a clumsy yet all and all polite bow.
“Good morning, Lord Death,Professor Mitsaki.” And let his eyes briefly wander around the room, searching for three empty seats. His efforts were soon rewarded, leading him to make way towards his objective, followed by him gesturing Tora and Tao to sit next to him. Well, offering really…He didn’t want to force them to sit by his side. But it would be nice to have some company.

Tasha R. Weller

Light shone across the dark black sunglasses setting on Tasha's face. She stretched her arm up holding it in place for a moment before letting it down. Giving a big yawn she heard her name shouted in the distance. She turned her head to see one of her classmates waving to her. She stopped and turned around her cleavage bouncing a little as she smiled and waved at her and her partner. "Hey guys...." another long yawn, interrupted the sentence "....morning." The pair came up to her and smiled, the group began to walk as the mesiter. "Morning Tasha, dark sunglasses again? Did you party hard last night?" Tasha world renowned for her amazing skills at partying hard, coming to school hungover was common for her. However, today that wasn't the case.

Giving a shallow laugh that turned into a long yawn she shook her head. "Not this time. I was up all-night taking care of my baby." The two looked at each other and the weapon spoke up, "you have a kid?" Tasha turned her head to him, a thin frown on her face, "no. Do I look like I have a kid?" She paused for a minute and quickly spoke up again. "Don't answer that. I mean my motorbike. My mom brought it down as a present and it just arrived at the apartment last night." She smiled thinking of her baby, "it's a Asphaltfigters Stormbringer she can go from 0 to 300 km/h in only 13.9 seconds. I earned every penny of that beauty and I don't let anyone else touch her but me." Her body began to shake as she stopped and punched a hole in a wall. The others around her jolted a little as she fumed. "And some drunk guy goes and runs her over because he couldn't see it!! I should have killed him!"

Her friends looked at each other a little afraid to ask. "W....what did you do?" She turned her head "obviously I beat him to a inch of his life!! He almost killed my baby!!!" She began to storm off, her friends following, "I spent the entire night fixing her back up! Re shaping the plastic, soldering on the wires again, buffering and cleaning her, it took forever! One minute in town and she's already been hit. Next person who hurts her I'll kill them." With murder in her puffy eyes, hidden by sunglasses, the three entered the room and sat down. Completely ignoring Lord Death Tasha left s seat free next to her. She crossed her arms underneath her chest only making her cleavage look larger. She shook her head. "I mean why is a drunk person even be driving!! He almost killed my baby!!!" She rested he upper half on the table and groaned. "I'm too tired for school... maybe I can just pretend to be awake again."

Someone tried to sit next to her, but Tasha put up her hand. "Sorry this seat is taken for my weapon partner." As the guy walked off her friends looked at her, "so you have a weapon partner? Why didn't you say so! What are they like." Tasha picked up a pencil and began to tap it against the table. "He's cool, very mellow, but has something that he's keeping kinda quiet. But I like him." "Mellow and cool, well that's a good fit, it's a complete contrast to your crazy loud temperament." She snapped the pencil in two, "heh..... yeah.... Do you want to know what it feels like to be snapped in two? Because I would be happy to help you out." The guy gulped and put his hands up, "come on it's a joke Tash., but you do get a little craz-" His meister cut in, "- well it's good for you to have finally gotten a partner. I'm happy for you." Tasha smiled, "thanks. I can finally take my combat to the next level, there's only so much physical training I can do as a meister. Now I can fight on a whole new level." She rested against the back seat and smiled, thinking about finally showing her old mad who's the best at combat.

“IGOR!” Honey shouted through the small apartment.

“I DON’ WANNA GO!” A gruff voice shouted back causing the twelve-year-old to sigh. She had hoped that this year at the DWMA would be different, but so far this year was the same as their first: Honey still had next to zero control of the monstrous psycho. Looking around for something to do, Honey decided to go through her backpack. Inside were five smaller bags, each a lunch that she had made. Two were for Ivy and Demetri for being their friends from their first year, their only friends. Two were for Honey and Igor themselves, Igor’s tailored specifically to his ‘needs’. The final lunch reminded Honey of the horror of the first day of the school year and was an apology lunch to Kassana for Igor attempting to eat the girl’s unconscious body.

The thought of the food gave Honey an idea causing her to run to the fridge. Grabbing the beef she had been planning to cook for dinner, she went back to the door. Placing the bag on her back she opened the front door and turned around. “Igor~!” Honey called in a knowing tone. “I’ll give you a snack if you come to school!” She was immediately greeted with a crash coming from the direction of the man’s room. The girl waited just long enough for the man to see the meat in her hand before she ran out the door.

It didn’t take long for the brute of a man to catch up to Honey and peel the raw meat from her hand. With a single hand he shoved his snack underneath his mask, his shark like teeth tearing into it. Honey payed no attention, looking ahead she was confident that they would finally make it to class on time. The thought made her smile and she grabbed onto Igor’s hand with her own to make sure that he wouldn’t run off without her.

Feeling a foreign surface, Igor glanced down at his hand to see Honey’s which further caused him to roll his eye. He didn’t mind the girl even though she really was a pain in his ass. She had the awful habit of stopping him from having fun but she did feed him and keep him out of jail. Following the girl’s gaze he looked ahead and saw the stairs leading to the school, he audibly groaned.

Honey heard Igor groan before she took a deep breath and observed the stairs. “Okay, I can do this!” She persuaded herself and started climbing. Being the little weaker twelve-year-old that she was, she slowed down drastically at the upward direction. Igor followed her slowly and laughed when Honey tripped and landed on all fours. Igor could easily carry her up the stairs, but he would never stoop to such a low, nor would Honey accept his help. So the two walked/crawled up the stairs.

The Monstrous Beast

It wasn’t long before Igor growled at the slow pace they were going and looked up to see they were not even halfway up. He looked back at Honey who showed nothing but determination on her face. He glanced between the two locations again before he chuckled. Honey’s gut sunk for a second upon hearing Igor’s laugh but quickly dismissed it as simply being a part of his insanity.

“IT BE FLY TIME!” Igor suddenly screamed and pulled his foot back before kicking the little girl in the butt with such a force that she went flying up the stairs. The backpack flew into the air with her but slipped off her shoulders at the sudden force of gravity. Laughing the whole time Igor ran to catch the bag before it hit the ground. It was then that he finally heard the grunt of the girl hitting the pavement ahead of him. Continuing his laughter he ran up to her, bag in hand. She winced in pain before turning to frown at the psycho.

“I didn’t need your HELP IGOR!!” Honey complained a bit angrily. Ignoring her statement Igor clenched onto the perfect yellow bow on the back of her dress and lifted her into the air. He then pushed her forward so that she stumbled onto her feet. Pouting she yanked the backpack back out of Igor’s grasp and made a break for the classroom knowing that Igor wouldn’t be happy with her action.

Bursting through the door, Honey stopped on her heels when she saw Lord Death. Giving a slight bow she began to greet him and her teacher “Hi, Lord-”

Slamming the door in after her, Igor came rushing in. His larger body made it more difficult to stop moving and he slammed into the smaller girl, the backpack once again landing in his grasp and the girl flew across the floor. Honey’s heart sank into her gut knowing that she was supposed to keep the psycho under control and yet completely messed up in front of Lord Death himself. “Igor..” Honey whined, catching the man’s attention as she picked herself up off the floor. Giving a small sigh, she walked over to grab the man’s hand, careful to avoid eye contact with the adults in the room, and surveyed the room for a spot to sit. Noticing Ivy and Demetri she walked in that direction leading the psycho with her, her face beat red as her partner made stupid faces at Lord Death.

Ivy, Demetri, Igor and Honey

The Best of Friends

“Igor, you dumbass!” Ivy called from the back of the class. “Get your stupid ass and your puny meister over here!” Ivy turned to the people sitting in the back with her and growled “You’re sitting in my friend's seats.” The students quickly scurried off under Ivy’s withering glare.

Hearing his name caught the psycho’s attention and he turned to the back of the class to growl at Ivy. Clenching the hand belonging to Honey in his grasp, he lifted the girl off her feet and hurled her in the direction of Ivy. However, he missed and the girl flew into Demetri.

“IGOR!” Honey shouted as she flew before her head collided into Demetri’s chest, knocking him and his chair over backward. The two tumbled to the ground and all the girl could hear was the laughter of the two that caused the collision.

“Urgh.” Demetri groaned. “I hate my life.” Demetri gingerly tried to sit up, without knocking the little girl off of him and injuring her further. “You okay?” He grumbled, rubbing the back of his head.

“I’m alright. A-are you okay? D-did I hurt you?” Honey responded, concerned as she got to her feet. She turned around at the approaching psycho to frown at him but he only responded with a shrug.

“I’d be fine if SOMEBODY would stop laughing.” Demetri scoffed, referring to Ivy who was still doubled over with laughter.

“Ahaha! That was brutal! Nice aim Igor!” She held up a hand for a high five from the psycho.

Seeing the hand of the woman he had been trying to hit raise up, the man smiled behind his mask and hit it hard with his own. With his other hand he placed the backpack on the table before he reached around Ivy to grab the back of Honey’s dress and yank her back to his side. Satisfied with himself he took a seat at the end of the table and leaned over to open the bag he had been carrying.

Before sitting down between the two people Honey swore were out to kill her, she slid the backpack away from the man who wanted nothing more than to eat the contents. Opening the bag she pulled out the lunches meant for Ivy and Demetri, handing them over without saying a word.

Ivy raised an eyebrow at the food placed in front of her. “Here, Honey made us lunch.” Ivy told the blind man who had just righted himself in his chair and smacked Demetri in the face with his.

Demetri snatched the paper bagged lunch away from Ivy and scowled. He elbowed Ivy in the side and turned to Honey and said, “Thanks for the food,” before returning to his previously lethargic state.

Kassana Silverstream and Vanille Floresia

Kassana found herself in her favorite place at the DWMA, the library. She looked around, not at all surprised by the empty tables, before deciding on a table that would work and pulling out the first book she could get her hands on before delving into its pages.

This had come to be her favorite part of the morning. In fact, it was one of the only parts of the morning that she actually liked because Vanille was usually still asleep - asleep, meaning quiet and unable to be obnoxious. Kassana still didn’t understand why she had to be partners with the girl to be quite honest. Don’t they have at least one meister who enjoys a simple moment of silence every now and then? Then again, Vanille really was the least of her concerns considering the fact that she was stuck in the same building as someone who had tried to eat her on the first day. But that was a story for a different time…

“In here? Thanks!” A loud voice called from outside the door.

Normally, Kassana would ignore such a voice while she was reading. The book in hand was one of her favorite tales, after all. However, this voice was different. This was the voice of the one person who would tear her out of her own comfortability so fast that reading wasn’t even possible anymore.

The door to the library opened as a pink head of long hair bobbed into the room, pausing to look around before it turned towards Kassana.

“Kassana!” Vanille shouted around a large pink bubble. Vanille popped the bubble and sucked the rest of the gum into her mouth before she began skipping her way over to Kassana's table. “Hey there early bird!” she said as she neared the table, leaning her hands on it to hold her wait as she leaned towards Kassana.

Kassana turned at the sound of her name, keeping her book open to make it clear that she had been reading. What do I do? I’m not excited to see her, but I shouldn’t say that, should I? No, I don’t think so. What would Ivy do?... Punch her. Kassana’s eyes flickered down to her pathetic and poor muscled arms as she realized that punching her partner wouldn’t work. Plus Ivy’s mean… kind of. I don’t want to be mean. What would Honey do? Kassana legitimately couldn’t think of the answer to that last one.

Finally, Kassana decided on the one thing she could determine wouldn’t be entirely terrible to say. “Good morning, Vanille. Would you like me to pick you out a book to read? There are lots of good ones here!”

latest
“Book...? Ehh..no thanks…”

Vanille leaned back slightly as Kassana finally replied, “Book…? Eh… no thanks…” she replied. “You know we're supposed to be in class soon right? Something is going on! I'm not really sure what but I felt like getting up early to find out! Come on early bird! Get up and let's go!” Vanille said, getting more visibly excited as she mentioned something going on.

Kassana sighed and stood up out of her chair, her eyes not quite forming a glare although she was visibly unhappy with having to put her book back into her backpack. I almost got eaten on the first day and she thinks something exciting is happening today… that’s terrifying. Nonetheless, Kassana followed Vanille out of her personal heaven that the school called the library.

Her walk was steady behind the bouncing gait of her meister as they walked into the classroom and at that point, Kassana lost track of the candy girl as her eyes fell upon Professor Mitsaki and Lord Death before surveying who else was in the room. She quickly found the small group that had been the first ones she had met at the DWMA, one of them being the cannibal meister who had tried to eat her. Well, I’m not sitting there…she realized. Looking to the other end of the row, Kassana saw Demetri. He’s not scary. I suppose he probably wouldn’t mind. With that, Kassana navigated the rows of the classroom and sat next to Demetri. As she sat it wouldn't be hard to hear the loud excited chatty voice of Vanille down at the front of the class still. Eventually though the bright cheery voice receded up into the various seats in the room.

Tao & Tora

"This is PAW-ESOME!!!!!!!! MEORE!!!!!" Tao shouted in her sleep as she was dragged to class deep asleep. Tora rolled her eyes at her baby sister, following behind as she watched Noel drag her sister. She would have helped but Tora had stayed up all night chasing after her sister who thought it would be fun to jump out a window to chase a fly that flew into their room. Tao never caught the fly, leaving her score against the insect population a whopping 2,349 for the insects to 0 for Tao. Tora was too tired to do anything, besides she had given up trying to wake her up years ago. If Tao wanted to wake up she would.... eventually. She pulled her hood over her face as she walked down the halls, her face even more hidden than before. She rubbed her eyes and crossed her arms as she looked at her sister, too embarrassed to look at Noel. Tao was beginning to drool, so Tora knew that she was dreaming about food again. It's almost always food, she'd eat a bus if it was full of food. She smiled a little, even if Tao was a hyper bottomless pit, she always was adorable when she was asleep.

As the reached the front door and Noel turned to them Tora jolted a little. Still unable to really talk to him even after a month, she gave a sigh as he turned back around. Tora's ability to talk to men was still pathetic as ever. She couldn't even talk to her meister, all she could do was just apologize. With a sigh and a flick of her paw she tossed Tao onto her shoulder and walked in. Giving a polite nod to Lord death and the teacher she followed behind Noel. Plopping Tao in one seat next to him, she stood in front of him trying to work up the courage to say something. "Sorry for Tao... I'll go shopping later today so she'll get up in the mornings. I totally forgot to buy Matsusaka beef from the store, sorry." She sighed sitting down next to him feeling awful.

"BEEF?!!" Tao shouted waking up. Looking left to right she looks around excitedly. Tossing her head in the air she sniffed for the beef but couldn't find it. She looked over to her big sis "where is it big sis?" Tora groaned and face palmed on the table. Tao tilted her head and grinned at her sister. She hopped out of her seat and onto her sister's back. "AWWWW come on big sis don't be like that!! Come on wake up! Wake up!" As she shouted she began to pounce on her sister. Crunching sounds which were probably Tora's spine slowly breaking could clearly be heard as she squeezed with every pounce. "Come on don't be mad!! Why are you so tired anyway?! Wake up! Wake up!"

Her patience slowly dwindling with every painful pounce, Tora finally snapped. She turned around and pounced on her sister, the two creating a cloud of kitten furry. Tora stopped and threw Tao across the room towards the blackboard. "And that's for shredding my homework last week!" Tora huffed completely exhausted she really needed some sleep or at least a cat nap. Meanwhile Tao stuck to the wall and laughed, "we had homework last week?" She hopped off the wall and landed in front of Lord Death and Mr. Mitsaki. Turning around and looked at them. Her eyes widened and she jumped up and down excitedly and turned to his sister, "hey big sis!! It's squiggly boss guy and the guy with the tasty name!! Miso sake? Why is he here I thought we took this class already." Tora sighed, and slumped down in her chair and sighed even louder.

Tao jumped up and down before leaping back to her seat, She looked over at Noel and smiled, "hey Chromo!! Do you have any candy?! I hear people here always have some on them!! Can I have some please! Purrrrleeeeaaaassee!!"She leaned in closer with every please until she was balancing herself on one chair leg. Tail swaying she looked at him with wide pleading and hopeful eyes.

Martial Law
As Close as Enemies

He is a weapon, an assassin, an outcast, and a boy seeking to prove his worth to the world. On the run from the Death Weapon-Meister Academy, an organization devoted to wiping evil from the world and creating peace, this boy finds himself in a tight situation. He is one of the countless new students enrolled in the DWMA. This boy, having yet to reveal his identity, is none other than Maikeru Keien Kowaresut?.

Dissolve in Darkness

It was another silent night in the realm of Death City. Those involved in running the city were exhausted from the large influx of students in the past month. The moon flashed its gritty smile down on the group of restless souls. It was a chase.

Maikeru was awake and sprinting down an alley. Skidding around a corner, he recalibrate an exit path. Climbing on top of a crate, he leapt to a ledge on the side of a clock tower. Like a mouse, he scaled the tower until the shadow of an overhang covered him. The complete darkness was rather comforting to Maikeru, or Mac as he preferred to be called. It meant that he could live for one more day.

A weapon and meister shot around the corner and halted, their heads on a swivel. Mac's knuckles whitened as his grip on the wall tightened when one of the students stared directly at him. However he had effectively dissolved in the darkness. No one could see properly in this light.

Mac had been lucky thus far. The DWMA hadn't sent a meister that could see souls after him. Obviously he did not pose a high enough risk to them, which Mac had no intention of doing. Though the DWMA was hunting him, he actually admired the organization. That was one of the many reasons that he joined the DWMA. Another was that they would lose his trail if he disappeared within their ranks. However, that didn't seem to be happening.

Wet Weight

A light rain poured from the sky this night, making the walls of the clock tower slick. As soon as Mac relaxed, a hand slipped and he crashed down into the pile of crates. Thankfully the weapon-meister pair were out of earshot.

Scanning the area, Mac decided that the crates would be his bed for the night. There was some soft material inside, and if he positioned himself right, he could escape most of the rain. It was a little cramped, but Mac was used to that.

Not So Early Bird

The following morning, Mac awoke to somebody yelling. Poking his head out of a crate, he saw a hefty man pointing over to the crates and yelling at a sobbing child. It was obvious the man thought the girl had broken his crates. She must have done it multiple times.

Mac's first instinct was to dash while the man's back was turned. However, he felt pity for the girl. He could not imagine how devastating it would be for a child, being yelled at for something they did not do. Instead of running, Mac squeezed out of the crate and faced his responsibilities. As he got out, a sharp edge of wood cut into his calf.

The cut wasn't deep, but it was enough for Mac to react. Mac grabbed his leg and hopped back, "Ow, Dammit!"

The commotion drew the attention of the man who instantly realized the situation. The man frowned and yelled, "It was you! Don't try to run away you scoundrel! You have to pay for this and apologize to little Yumi!"

Mac had not been trying to run, but the cut made him hop away in a fashion that looked like running. The man leapt forward, raising a fist to punch Mac in the face. Eyes flashing open, Mac planted his foot and stepped to the side. He deflected the man's punch with his left hand and followed with a palm strike toward the nose.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_10/57a8c53f291a3_CryingAnimeGirl.jpg.bad4169f25c4779e721a17000b1c9ba7.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="81535" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_10/57a8c53f291a3_CryingAnimeGirl.jpg.bad4169f25c4779e721a17000b1c9ba7.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

"Please don't hurt daddy!" yelled the little girl as she clambered toward the man. Mac froze, his palm inches from the man's nose. Slipping out of the man's reach, Mac dropped some coins on the ground.

"There, that should cover your crates," started Mac, "Oh, and sorry kid, Yumi was it? You're right. It's never okay to hurt someone. I won't do it again."

The man took another step forward, but stopped when Yumi started to tug on his shirt, "Let him go daddy. He didn't mean it. Bye strange red-haired boy. I hope you find a home!"

Still Running

Mac blinked when the girl mentioned home. How did she know I was homeless? I've got to be better for people like her. I could have helped. Instead I almost caused pain. I must train harder. There must be more control!

With that, Mac started sprinting toward the DWMA. Classes would start soon anyway. He passed a few drunkards wobbling through the streets and a few other students. At the moment he paid them no heed. Mac had set his mind on his goal, the top of the steps at the DWMA. So that's exactly where he went.

He sprinted past other tired students. On his way up he almost tripped on a student who was sitting on the steps. They must have been tired. Tired wasn't part of Mac's thought process though. Perhaps it was a mental disability. Sprint Mac! You must not be inferior! You've failed once today. Don't let it happen again!

Sprite wasn't sure if he felt excited for another day of DWMA or going back to time off. He knew he should have spent his weeks before he and his parents had arrived before hand running up and down the stairs to get in shape but instead he had lounged around, enjoying a week of laziness and relaxation before school started. Now, a month into school, he was still paying for it... barely halfway up the steps and he was winded. As he sat and tried to catch his breath he watched, irate, as others easily ran up the stairs... or at least continued walking. It was a small relief knowing he wasn't the only one at least, noticing a few other students sitting on the stairs.

The blonde boy was just about to get up and begin his trek again when a speed demon tripped over him, knocking Sprite back onto the steps, causing him to bash his head against the stairs. He let out a cry in surprise and in pain, gripping at his head. He sat up quickly, seeking out the perpetrator to find a red haired giant quickly roll back to his feet and continue his speedy run up the stairs. A familiar red haired speed demon. Angry at not even getting a word of apology or acknowledgement that the guy had just run him over, Sprite pushed to his feet and took after him.

Head throbbing, muscles burning, lungs feeling like they were about to give in, it was still a long time before he had reached the top of the stairs. His gaze frantically sought out his tall partner but the boy was either long gone, or he had gained the ability to become invisible. He let out an angry huff before realizing he had made it to the top of the stairs. Feeling light headed all of a sudden it was difficult for Sprite not to just topple back down the stairs. Moving on jello filled legs, Sprite wobbled his way towards the classroom, knowing he'd have time to reprimand the weapon later.

Okay?

"Hey, Sprite, are you okay?" asked Mac, who had seemingly materialized behind his partner, concerned.

Pretty sure he jumped a foot in the air, Sprite spun to face his weapon partner- the act making him exceptionally dizzy. It took him a moment to refocus, before pointing a finger at Mac.

"Fine. Fine. Pretty sure I don't have a concussion." He said, the anger dulling when he noticed the concerned expression on his partners face, "What was your hurry?"

Mac's eyes slid to the floor as he said, "It happened again. I almost killed someone. I need to have more control over my instincts. I need to get better, Sprite."

Frustration emanated from Mac's contorted face. This expression was a simple depiction of the real turmoil that went on in his head. There was so much Sprite did not understand. So much that Mac could not tell him.

Well that was not what Sprite had been expecting at all. But this was Mac, afterall... his mysterious weapon partner who had mad skills and did not like to talk about his past. And had this reoccurring issue with almost killing people. And it wasn't the almost where you attack someone and come close to killing them... it was the 'I know how to kill someone in one shot, and almost did. Sprite tried to keep his expression calm, though his emotions were in turmoil.

"You've been getting better. You have more control now then you did at the start of the month," He offered, nudging the other man's arm, "You know... once again I bring up if you told me why you get the urge to kill people I might be able to help you more? Like if it's a hair color that sets you off etc." He had a feeling it wouldn't work any better than it had the last few times. Mac would open up when he felt like opening up... yet Sprite couldn't help but pry.

Mac struggled with the idea of his improvement. He was blind to the many advances he had made. The actions of the day weighed to heavily on his mind.

Then, Sprite asked his question. Without thinking, Mac began, "You don't understand Sprite. There's no specific trigger. You see, when you're born into the S..."

Mac's eyes shot up with fear as he realized the fatal error he was about to make. He had dropped his guard and stopped concentrating. The realization kicked in, that he had let his trust in Sprite grow to a dangerous level.

The assassin attempted to rectify his mistake, "Wh-when you're born into the s-shitty situations I was... things happen. Anyway, we don't want to be late for class. Let's go."

He's right. I don't understand. And it must be some god awful secret with the way he's keeping it from me. It had better be some big secret. Turn around and find out it's something ridiculous that he's been hiding... I will punch him. Sprite thought to himself, noticing the way Mac stopped and started again.

"Yeah yeah, you grow up on the streets you shoot everything that moves. I've heard the story, Mac," Sprite said with a wave of his hand.

"You're right, we should get to class. You know... I'm ready to see some real action now... this mamby pamby school classes makes me wonder why DWMA is a famed fighting school," The boy stated with a dry tone as the pair headed into the school. "What do you think it'll take for us NEW students to become EAT students?"

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Mac followed his partner into class, his heart dropping as he heard the annoyance in his meister's voice. He wanted to tell, there simply was no safe way of doing it. At Sprite's question, Mac stated, "Don't worry about that Sprite. I'll make sure you've got the skills to be a three star meister. Then you'll be able to make me a Death Scythe."

Then I will prove to the world that there is good in the Star Clan. That my family is not entirely evil, and that I do have a place. If I succeed in bringing honor, then I will have wrongfully been shunned.

"I s'pose you're right. This is just going to be something we work together on. It's good we make such a good team, huh?" He said, though he still wasn't quite adept in using the tri section staff. He had looked up videos as soon as he had discovered what Mac was... and the weapon was so cool for not having a blade. He really wanted to master the weapon and make Mac as strong as he could be as well. Still... there had been a few times they had disagreed. Ok. More than a few. And it hadn't been all that long.

"Do you really want to work for Death, though? I mean... if you become a Death Scythe... is that it for our budding partnership?"

Mac halted on beat as Sprite questioned their continued partnership. Looking up, he responded, "Not all Death Scythes work directly for Lord Death. If you get me to that level though, I would say our partnership would be more than budding."

"You make a good point. I'm sorry for phrasing that so badly..." Sprite said, scratching at his neck sheepishly. He took a seat near where Mac usually sat, resting his head on his hands as he thought about it. The idea of being in a long term partnership with Mac appealed to Sprite. Though they were so different Sprite could already feel a strength within Mac that he felt strongly outweighed many other weapons at the DWMA. Even if they didn't always get along. He refrained from clarifying if that meant Mac did plan on remaining with him. They'd only been partners for a month... no need to start pushing that.

"So... Lord Death is coming to class today? That'l be a fun visit... wonder what he wants."

Mac sat in his desk, rigid as the class plan was revealed. His partner's last words echoed in his mind, "wonder what he wants."

Lord Death is coming? One purposeful glance at my soul and... no, act cool Mac. Just don't give him any reason to look. Remember, control.

"At least Lord Death has a good sense of humor," Sprite snickered quietly, pointing out how he had called out the teacher for sleeping in class again. He hadn't been very impressed with the teacher to start with and hoped that perhaps Death would get them a new one. Or better yet! Move them up to EAT students so that they were more on missions than they were trapped in the classroom. Sprite had had his fill of classrooms to last him a lifetime and then some.

"You ok, Mac?" Sprite asked, voice lowering further when he noticed a change in his partner. Mac, of course, was always hard to read... he always seemed to be in control even when turmoil was going through him internally. But Sprite had begun to catch onto the subtle hints and changes.

Mac reclined in his chair with an uninterested face as he responded, "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just sick of always sitting in a classroom. Anyway, class is about to start, we better pay attention."

Twin Dilemma

Erica and Grace Taghan funneled out of their apartment on their way to the Death Weapon-Meister Academy. The former, with her stoic expression, set the lock on the door behind them with a [clack]. The key ring was shoved into a small purse as the young girl made her way down the flight of steps in front of the apartment. The latter sister hopped down the stairs, straightening her dress as she flipped the curls out of her eyes and smiled at the laughing sun.

Passers by squinted at the mirror illusion fabricated as the sisters matched the beat of their march. For all intensive purposes, they were carbon copies from the shade of blonde in their hair to the plaid pattern on their dresses that symbolized their Scottish royal ancestry. No one knew the significance of their ancestry or understood the role of the pattern in Scottish society, but the sisters did not care. The dresses were cute and comfortable and fulfilled the purpose for which they were intended.

The strip of apartments lining the street gave way to a basketball court, revealing a collection of students. One of the students called out, "Hey Axel! Over here!"

Grace, otherwise known by her official DWMA nickname of Axel Grace, waved at her friends and disappeared into the crowd. She located her meister, Keziah Swan, before continuing to school.

Erica did not deviate from her set path. Big crowds made her uncomfortable, and she was en route to collect her meister for class.

Erica walked to her meister's apartment and knocked on the door. She waited a few minutes before sighing and yanking out her key ring again. The door was unlocked, but did not swing open.

Something was jammed behind the door and restricted its movement. Erica threw her shoulder into the door, causing something to shift with a [scraatch]. Erica silently thanked her sister's genes for petit stature as she slipped in the small opening she had made.

A pile of laundry threatened Erica's center of balance. Had she been donning heels, there would have been no escaping it. Thankfully she had chosen to wear tennis shoes instead. Erica did not mind dressing up a bit, but she was more concerned with the practical rather than visual.

Erica assessed the floor plan, noticing many potential accident areas. In her mind, they were hurdles, distractions detracting from her prime directive. The former spy centered her attention on her meister's room before contorting through the apartment in silence.

If anyone saw what was transpiring, they would have laughed their faces off at the seriousness with which Erica was handling the situation. Her movements were so fluid that even the dust lay undisturbed. That is until she reached her meister, leaning over and tapping her on the shoulder.

Ticked Off

Eden had long taken his seat in class, sitting relatively straight against the back of his chair, as well as having his hands on top of his desk - as is proper. However, his hands had long curled into fists, shaking fists no less. Quiet words squeazed their way through his clenched teeth and pursed lips. "God... Just.... Stop... Talking..." He adressed no one in particular, but if anyone would pay attention to him, it was easy to imagine clouds of steam piping out of his ears, which had taken a slightly darker shade, along with the rest of his face. Eden was quite literally boiling. A single bead of sweat had rolled down his forehead, as he tried to keep it together once the large, masked male and his meister absolutely STORMED the classroom.

"Calm. Down. Not... in front of... Lord... Death..." A high pitched little squeak escaped his lips, similar to a distressed guinea pig, as his hands had now flattened out and clutched onto the table, shaking his whole seat alongside his arms. "Start the class.... Al... ready." He did not even care that Maxwell hadn't arrived yet. Knowin him, he would not give a damn either way, so Eden might as well be released from his torture. Starting to count through various calming down methods, he eventually resorted to breathing as slowly and deeply as he could, but each breath just felt like chilli powder flew down his pipes. He once again heard the other students talk, happily chatting away, especially the large one... Igor... and his group had only shortened his fuse. But now, a quirky looking duo flowed into the classroom. He recognized seeing the one with the colorful nails on the hallway before. Vanille... Her partner seemed... weak. Regardless of strength, however, was the fact they had already waltzed in. What was usually tolerable, now became part of the puzzle that was the non-stop assault on his, admittedly, rather low amount of patience. Damn you all... DAMN YOU ALL! And especially... His eyes shot forward, where his 'teacher' sat.

YOUUU! You lethargic, unqualified waste of space... At least make this room quiet, if you can't make it worth my time... Eden was close to blowing up, and his had already left the sockets to an unhealthy looking amount, as he heard a girl behind squeak. It was a girl Eden didn't know, nor cared to get to know, talking to Jayce. Usually, he would not make such a big fuss over a moderate volume conversation, nor would he snap at a little sound like her... well... what was it? Surprise? Uneasiness? He shook his head - although it had twitched for a solid while now, anyways - and turned his body around in a clunky, mechanical looking motion. The mixture of the commotion that had filled up the class, as well as the awfully high pressure he felt upon seeing Lord Death present in today's class, made him finally snap, unable to hold back his obsessive behavior.

"FOR THE LOVE OF ALL IMAGINABLE GODS!" He slapped his hand on the desk before him, as he now faced the friendly looking couple of Alessa and her new found weapon. "WOULD YOU SHUT - THE HELL - UP? For a second, at least?" Steam may as well have came out of his nostrils. His chest heaving, he turned his attention to the rest of the class, uncaring whether they payed attention to him or not. "THIS IS A CLASSROOM!"

He remained in the position he was in, as the last syllables of his miniture rant echoed through the room. Then, he realized what he did. After blowing of some of his stock piled rage, he became more rational again, remembering that, afterall, he was just a student. And one with a not-so-great- reputation to begin with. And on top off that, he had just lashed out right in front of the shinigami. His face grew red. "Uhh..." Nothing. His mind drew a blank. He slowly spiraled back into his seat, trying to dissolve into the ground, hoping everyone would just ignore him - Not that he expected such gentle treatment. Where the hell is Axel? was all his brain managed to beat into his senses before leaving his victim to his own stupidity.

Aiko_Selmatu-Banner_zpsbqnor5qt.jpg

(picking up from where @CelticHero37 left off.)

Aiko groaned as Erica's gentle touch seemed to make her stir. She groaned, her body half off the bed with her head resting up against a pile of various junk, her pillow having managed to find its way under her head resting arched on her back with her body from the middle of her back down still on the bed. She cracked open her eyes, groaning lightly. She slipped from the bed, stumbling over as she managed to flip over finding herself on her ass. She slowly propped herself up, standing on what looked to be a left over pizza box.

"Huh? Oh... already?" Aiko asked rubbing her eyes. She looked up at Erica rubbing her eyes. "Eh... let's just skip today, sleep a little more, maybe go do something fun?" She suggested very nonchalant, looking up towards Erica.

Erica's head tilted in confusion, "S-skip? I don't think you're referring to the method of travel. You can't be suggesting that we miss class today are you? A-Aiko, how are we supposed to learn and fulfill our purpose if we don't go to class? Besides, I heard Lord Death was going to be in class today. We would probably get kicked out for missing a class without a proper excuse."

Aiko groaned looking up at her. "Eh... I'm too awesome to be kicked out. You got that cute Grace Hunter charm of yours to keep them from throwing you out to, we will be alright!" She spoke giving a thumbs up in response.

Erica frowned. She had a hard time arguing with her partner, the only person besides Axel to talk to her on a regular basis. "Come on Aiko. I really don't want to miss this class," pleaded Erica.

She sighed slowly standing up, brushing herself off. "Fine fine... I'll just... find my outfit... somewhere... and we can be on our way." She conceited, jumping up to her feet, bumbling around to find her clothes in the mess that was her room. She haphazardly waved away her partner to wait for her outside before

Aiko stumbled out the door after a few minutes of 'getting ready'. She tugged at her dark magenta jacket, left unbuttoned as she tended to usually leave it as. She fixed up her indigo vest in haste, finally tugging her yellow shirt underneath so it was relatively straight. She reached up giving a light tug on the ribbon keeping her hair off to one side. Her blue jeanes held firmly on her body, wearing simple black sneakers having last her usual white pair of shoes she typically goes with. "Alright, good enough. Let's go!" She spoke, her hand brushing at a few strands of her hair doing her best to fix herself up a bit more.

Aiko took the lead walking with Erica. She smiled towards her companion, her weapon. It had been nearly a year since she was partnered with the girl. Aiko had... a usually odd relationship with her partners. Erica had managed to stay beside her for far longer then any other. She was the only one who seemed understanding with her 'issues'. It was often something Aiko liked to downplay, an embarrassment for someone who stood out as being extremely talented when it came to wielding weapons. Any great deal of praise about her being a 'three star' would come crashing to an embarrassing halt when she would be toyed with because she couldn't do 'that'.

She looked over towards 'Grace', smirking a little bit as her playful side finally woke up. "So miss Hunter, you didn't happen to talk with Axel and how much you wanna make out with her, did you?" She spoke with a playful smirk on her lips. She had a habit of attempting to tease her, a game that no matter how old it got she couldn't help but make some remark about it. She loved trying to throw her off and getting a response.

Erica, otherwise known as Grace Hunter, blushed and tugged on the straps of her backpack. The question had caught her by surprise, since Axel was her sister's codename. Glancing to the ground, she said, "N-no. I don't know what you're talking about. Wh-what gave you that idea? I don't m-make out with people."

Aiko giggled, looking at Erica, touching her shoulder. "Relax, I'm teasing. Not that I don't think she is cute... I mean... obvious reasons... but it would be pretty awkward kissing yourself in a way... I mean... unless you do experiment in that way..." She spoke looking up in the air, unable to help but laugh more at the very thought, sneaking in the idea last second finding it oddly funny to her despite the embarrassment it was suppose to fuel.

"You always have the cutest reactions when your responding to something embarrassing. Don't worry about the 'not making-out' thing, I'll work towards fixing that problem at some point." She added as a playful remark at the end giving a quick thumbs up. She rested her hands behind her head, moving forward once more deciding to stop her teasing.

Erica's beat red face turned to hide the discomfort from her meister. What's the big deal about making out? I don't get it. She continued on toward the school hoping for no further incidents. This did not mean she was annoyed by her meister. Erica knew she needed to be drawn out of her comfort zone, so she was glad for the company. Yet there were plenty of times where Erica wished she did not have to deal with people.

Aiko noticed Erica's red cheeks as she remained behind her. She kept quiet, deciding to spare her partner of any more embarrassment for now. She knew how she could be at times. It had always been her desire to push her from her shell, much like Erica helped to steer her towards keeping focused on classes more. Aiko's over confidence often lead her to doing little to take things seriously, only furthered by the fact she was quite talented as it was. The only thing worst then someone who was cocky was someone who had amazing talent already to start with. It often took a gentle pushing or a harsh smack of the head to reality to keep Aiko grounded.

Aiko the Blurr lead her partner forward into the school. A light smirk on her lips as she ventured through the halls. As much as she was willing to skip out of going to the academy, she had a certain fondness for it. Despite the 'snorefest' class could sometimes turn out to be. It was worst when she considered the fact the red haired devil, MiYUKo was a teacher. It had lead to... several 'incidents' in the past having to deal with her.

She stepped forward into the classroom, looking around almost like a dog making sure the coast was safe for her to do something she wasn't suppose to. She yawned, moving with her partner towards her seat, ignoring all the other students for now. "You know... we could still skip out of this lame place... there could be something fun we can do around town." She spoke up quite carefree giving Erica a shrug putting on a more tough girl expression not seeing Miya-sensei around.

Erica sat at her desk, setting her bag neatly to the side. She yanked out a notebook and pencil bag from her pack before she answered her partner, "We're already here Aiko. Wouldn't it be too much work to walk all the way back?" Erica hoped this would appeal to her partner's lack of motivation today.

Aiko shrugged again. "Eh? So what its not like we couldn't just walk out now." She spoke reclining on the seat, putting her feet on the desk and resting her hands behind her head. "Besides, I'm Aiko the Blurr! I am known to be just so swift, sly, and elegantl; to suddenly slip away from boring places. Learning is useless when you are good like me." She spoke pointing her thumb at herself, letting out a light laugh at her partner relaxing back.

Alessandra Volkov

Nickname: Alessa Wolf

Classification: Meister

Partner: Jayce Pharaoh

Feeling: Happy / Scared
Once it had been established that Jayce was her first partner after their bit of chatter, Alessa had quickly and easily relaxed, not really nervous around the older boy anymore. Sure if someone else approached them and joined in a conversation, her shyness would definitely reappear.

Smiling happily and feeling proud that she’d been able to take a leap of faith and make a friend - even though it took her about a month - the redheaded little girl felt that nothing could bring her down from her cloud. It was a nice comfy cloud that kept her warm and happy. Full of books and kitties and warm clothing! The thought made her want to squeal to herself as she snuggled into her kitty sweatshirt.

Jayce was nice and kind to her despite her fear at being approached, and because of his kindness she’d been able to see his sadness and that made her sad. Alessandra didn’t like how people that used to be his friends seemed to blame him for an accident. From what she read, that’s not how friendship works!

“Ja-”

”FOR THE LOVE OF ALL IMAGINABLE GODS!” shouted someone in front of them, slamming their hands down loudly on the desk, causing her to let out a shriek of surprise. "WOULD YOU SHUT - THE HELL - UP? For a second, at least? THIS IS A CLASSROOM!”

Shaking now as his loud and booming voice was focused on her, Alessa couldn’t help the tears that filled and overflowed from her eyes. Startled at the initial shout, scared at the continued shouting, and terrified at the large and scary man facing and yelling at her topped it off as she stumbled backwards out of her chair, tears blocking her vision.

Somehow sliding behind Jayce, she clutched the back of his shirt tightly as she sniffed, finding some form of comfort in her new friend.

”I-I….s-so….” she tried to squeak out, being cut off by a sob of fright.

"Uhh..."

Axel

"Well... nice job being an asshole." A voice called out from the front of the class.

Axel leaned against the door frame quietly, holding a cigarette to his lips as he took a long drag. There was a moment's pause before he exhaled the gathered cloud of smoke into the air before directing his eyes back at Eden. "Really, no joke. How's a "Dickhead of the year" award sound? Oh and think fast." Axel asked, the last part being accompanied with the still lit cigarette flying through the air directly towards Eden's forehead.

Whether or not it hit Axel began walking towards the desk, not wasting time in going around as he simply hopped over and took a seat next to Eden. "So, little bro, what's got your panties in a twist today, eh? Momma not write back to check up on her precious baby boy?" Axel asked, the last question being said in a mocking babyish way. "What's wrong bud? Need your big bro to keep you in line?" Axel asked, following up with a heavy handed slap to the back that turned into a mocking half hug.

Axel chuckled coolly, releasing Eden so that he could lean back and recline his boots on the desk. A quiet sob caught Axel's attention from behind him, causing him to stretch his head back and take a look at the aftermath of Eden's yelling. Axel groaned audibly as he sat up, "Nice job asswipe, you made a little girl cry, let me get that award for you." He grumbled before standing up and turning around to the two behind him.

Axel leaned forward over the desk, looking at Jayce and Alessandra, "Hey, you alright?" He asked. A slight tone of aggravation in his voice for Eden's actions.

Ren Ichisayame

Nickname: Lazing Lotus

Classification: Weapon - Katana

Partner: Hotaru Yukishiro

Feeling: Sleepy

At the shrill sound of his alarm going off for the fifth time, Ren groaned, muttering something under his breath. Shrugging his bedsheet off his arm, he blindly went searching for the stupid device that kept shrieking in his ear. Feeling his hand bump into a small shaking device, followed by a crash on the floor, the raven-haired young man cursed.

The small clock continued to shriek.

Grumbling as he pushed himself up off of his stomach, Ren tripped, his legs tangled in the sheet lying across his body. Cursing loudly as he crashed into the floor beside the screaming clock, Ren blearily opened his eyes just so he could turn the blasted thing off.

Laying on the floor, tangled in a sheet in an awkward position, Ren stared blankly at the wall across from him. He didn’t know how long he remained there, staring with half-lidded eyes at nothing.

It was only when his awkward position started to cause a slight cramp in his leg did he finally bother to move, pushing himself up into a sitting position, yanking the sheet away from his body. Yawning loudly as he scratched his bare chest, he looked at his now silent clock, barely registering that it stated that he was late.

Not that he really cared. All he did was sleep in class anyway.

Yawning again he finally pushed himself and began to change, putting on an actual pair of pants and t-shirt, followed by his hoodie.

With closed eyes, he easily made his way through his apartment, grabbing a piece of bread as he headed out of the door and to the school. Oh well. If he was late, he was late.

Not like he cared.

Standing outside the classroom, Ren sighed, already knowing it was going to be a loud day. He had been down the hall and could hear the noise all the idiots he was forced to call classmates were making.

With another sigh, he stuck what was left of his bread back in his mouth, stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked into the room, instantly zeroing in on his partner. The Mirage, Hotaru Yukishiro.

If his mouth wasn’t full, he probably would’ve sighed again. Stupid magic trick…

Closing his eyes again, he dodged around all the people nearby, making his way to his seat besides the magician. ”...Morning…” he mumbled around the bread.

Annoyed / Embarassed

Eden had closed his eyes rather forcefully, trying to cast out the reactions of his ridiculous outburst. It worked somewhat well, though Alessa's stuttering came through every now and then. However, a certain voice ripped him out of his thoughts rather harshly. God... great timing.

"...Nice job being an asshole..."

Eden opened his eyes, furrowing his brows. His whole expression got considerably more tense, an angry glare on his face. "It was freaking loud, okay?" he shot back, almost barking, only to quickly dodge the cigarette. "Ass..."

There wasn't too much that ticked him off for real. Even despite his outburt just now, it was a rare occurence, and mostly it was just an act. But Axel easily made him loose his cool, at least when Eden himself was in a position that was hard to defend. "Oh shut your piehole... At least mom writes me back, Maxwell." he half-growled, half-hissed back at his older brother, as aggressively as he could. And he made sure to put special emphasis on his full name. He stuck out the unnecessarily physical hug, knowing this was just his way of teasing him. "Ugh... why is everyone being so god damn stupid today? Out of all days... What will Lord Death think of this...." His words were breathy and hard to make out, as Eden had burried his face in his hands, completely losing his cool about the situation. If only they had been more calm... Then he would've been more calm, this girl wouldn't be crying and it would all be okay.

The girl...

Eden turned around, his face visibly corrupted by embarassment as well as guilt. He didn't dare to look at Jayce. Not that he was scared. He just didn't wanted to lay an eye on the justified anger directed at him.

"I... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... lash out on you like that..." His stumbled over his words. His nickname didn't come from nowhere. Apologizing so awfully admitting to an error wasn't exactly in his nature. Not anymore, at least. Nevertheless, he extended a hand to help her up. Meanwhile, he turned his face, and through gritted teeth scolded his brother.

"I can fix this myself, you idiot."

Eden proceeded to give it a shot and smile at Alessa, but it just looked weird, as if he was uncomfortable. "Look, that was... pretty messed up. I, uh... I was just stressed out because these clowns up there can't keep their mouths shut. I'm sorry, alright? He put a lot of emphasis on the words "these clowns up there", obviously refering to the group around Igor and Ivy.

Uh... I'm Eden. The Prideslinger. And, uh... I dunno... If you need anything, I'll... Hmph... I'll make it up to you, okay?" Eden struggled with these kinda situations, but he knew he had to just do it. Not only 'cause it was right, but also because it'd be the only thing to save his face in front of Lord Death.

Jayce “Pharaoh” Hammerkin

Jayce’s eyes widened and he practically jumped out of his as Eden yelled at him and his newfound meister. He thought they had been fairly quiet but apparently that wasn’t enough for Eden; apparently demanding complete silence was now an acceptable thing. Although he hadn’t immediately noticed her disappear from her chair, he felt Alessandra’s grip on his shirt from behind him, and hearing the sniffles that accompanied her tears.
DWMA Name: Jayce Pharaoh

Classification: Weapon - Khopesh

Partner: Alessa Wolf

Mood: Protective

The young weapon wasn’t quite sure what to do at this point. He wanted to defend his new friend and meister because he knew he would’ve defended Kyrsten in the same situation. However, Eden was scary and Jayce couldn’t bring himself to deny that fact. It was such that even he was afraid to say anything outright.

Although it apparently seemed that he didn’t have to say anything because Axel picked Jayce’s exact moment of panic to walk in and turn Eden’s gaze away from Jayce and Alessandra. Whatever they chose to discuss went over Jayce’s head because rather than listening he took the chance to turn around and face his meister. ”You ok?” Jayce asked her, his voice soft and clearly concerned. Reaching out, he wiped a tear from her eye before his eyes flickered around the classroom, stopping on a box of kleenex near the windowsill. Swiftly, he jogged over to grab them and brought the box back to the younger girl, offering them to her.

”Don’t worry about them. They won’t be in a lot of our classes so you won’t have to be scared all the time,” he explained. Then a smile randomly sprouted on his face. ”And you’ve got me now! I’m gonna do my best to be a great weapon partner. I’ll protect you…” His voice trailed off at the end and it seemed that his mind began to wander while his face became less cheerful than he seemed to have intended it to be.

Eden and Axel were the ones who snapped him out of it with their questions about them being alright and whatnot. Actually, their words took him by surprise causing his head to whip around a lot faster than he had originally intended. “Yeah,” he mumbled while his hand went to his meister’s shoulder, obviously meant to be comforting, “we’ll be alright.” He really hoped that it was true.
