Prologue:
Valentine Everblossom walked into the shining ballroom, her heels clicking against the polished floor. "It seems the final preperations have gone by splendedly." she said aloud her voice echoing over the walls. She sighed and looked around for a moment more then went back to her mother who was waiting in her office. “Is the ballroom fixed as you want it my dear.” her mother said, not even bothering to look up from her book. Valentine clasped her hand in front of her dress. “Yes mother it is perfect. How many guests do you think will come?” her mother put down her book and looked up at her only daughter. “I don't know dear. Many I hope. I sent letters to royalty from all four corners of the Earth. Who knows who will show up. Hopefully the man you marry.” suddenly Valentine's cheeks turned bright red. “Mother...........”
“I'm just telling you what I think.”
“That is all good and well, but I do have a certain request that might invade your plans.”
“What kind of request?”
Present Night:
The guests came by the dozens into the large ballroom, all of them wearing masks and dresses of their choice. Hilda Everblossom stood at the top of the winding marble staircase. As she saw that the door had finally closed she clapped her hands for attention. “Welcome all to Everblossom mansion for this spectacular party.” she cleared her throat before she continued on, “As you know this is a party that was supposed to be hosted by my daughter. Well, there has been a slight change of plans. Although she would love to greet you and welcome you warmly she has decided to enjoy the party with you, her identity unknown. If you wish to know where she is or which one of the gorgeos young women in the room is her, feel free to investigate. For the rest of you, enjoy your evening.” and with that she was gone. Valentine, who stood in the corner listening as did the others a smirk had formed on her lips. What a wonderful speech mother. Wonderful speech. She thought to herself. Suddenly she found her eyes on her appearance hoping no one would recognize her. The only one of her features that were in plain sight was her blonde hair, which laid in waves along her back. I'm sure no one will notice. There are girls in here much prettier than I. She thought and made her way to the punch bowl. After she had served herself a cup she went back to her corner and stood there once again. Hopefully this night will go by as smoothly as possible.
