Fantasy Shadow Of The Day

PopcornandCaramel

More like burnt popcorn.
" We may be throwing our lives away for a legend, but to save Rhea I am willing"

Alright! You made it!

Here is a basic outline you can use to create your character. One thing to keep in mind is that this world is very much like that of Final Fantasy so there are many different races of characters from many different lands. I've given you a few cities and races to use but other than that I'm giving you all complete creative freedom for your character. Just as long as it makes sense to the story. You can make as many as you wish also. Some people may die halfway through, some may make it to the end.

Another thing I wanted to point out, is that the group is going to be traveling ALL over Rhea so if you'd like to have your character join the group later in the story then that's acceptable. We don't all have to meet in the same place at the same time. It's more realistic this way ( Ha for a fantasy story)

If you feel like you need to add more to the character outline that's fine with me. This is just a basic setup.

Rules:

1) And really this is obvious. No god mode. None. The only God in this rp is Darkness. :3

2)Language is fine but don't go overboard.

3) Details! This is a detailed rp, and I expect a decent lengthy and detailed post. I get writers block happens( Happens to me a LOT) So I'll put a 3 paragraph limit

4)Please don't try to change the story. Suggestions are appreciated, but changing the direction or the history is just rude ya'll

5) All RPnation rules apply

Please wait to be accepted to the roleplay before posting in the thread and please read all of the overview and rules

Name:Marigold S Mara

Age:25

Race: Elvin

Appearance:

dark_countess_by_leevitron.jpg

Personality: Upon first meeting, Ms Mara can be standoffish and seemingly uninterested in whoever is speaking to her. She spends much of her time working; she repairs books for pay, most of her work on old pieces. She dresses quite well; grand dresses and valuable jewellery pieces. Her hair is almost silver in colour, and her skin quite pale. She has long, well shaped fingernails that she tends to tap on surfaces when she is thinking, or bored. Has a habit of wearing multiple rings and necklaces at a time.

Bit o'history: Ms Mara is a talented, well respected woman known for her work in book repair. She is on neutral terms with others in the town, as she tends to keep to herself. She is picky with what work she accepts, and tends to accept work based on the item than the pay. There are rumours in the town, quiet whispers and shushed words that she has skills beyond her books. It is said that she is knowledgeable in a very old, ill thought of form of magic. She has strange markings on her upper arms and shoulders, always hidden, which seemed to be strange markings carved into the skin and allowed to heal. These markings are the giveaway sign for those experienced in this magic.

Sent on Journey by the king or is coming in later - She lives in the main town of the story, and can be visited for help by others, she will eventually join however down the line.

Hometown: Originally Fellhorn from but residing in Theokleia.

Gear: Unsure yet, will be given during RP.

5-anime-elf-archer-illustrations-drawings-artworks.jpg

Personality: Destiny is a rather blunt girl who doesn't see the point in lying. She won't hold back to spare your feelings nor will she hold back if she were fighting someone you hold dear. She's usually expressionless, putting her job above everything else. She became a Knight, proving everyone who doubted get wrong. She is very stubborn when she believes she is right and is often found arguing over beliefs or orders. She can, however, be kind hearted when she sees that is necessary, though it is rare.

Bit o'history: Born on the rougher side of Fellhorn, she learned how hard and terrible life could be. But nevertheless, she was happy. She lived with her parents up until she was five. That's when her parents, siblings, and close friends all died due to 'suicide' as the higher ups had called it. But she saw it. She saw it happen while she was hiding between a loose panel in the wall. She then learned how to survive on her own by stealing, cheating, and anything else that had to be done to survive. She became heartless and cold toward anyone she came across and refused to take pity on those who tried to seek it out.

@Ramero @ShadowHuntress @DctrCat @LaDyGrEy You are all accepted, thanks for joining. :) Sorry it totally went over my head to come back and accept you guys lol

@SilverSolis There are a couple things I want to point out about your character. 1) The Darkness doesn't have any children. So you're going to have to change that. 2) I'm totally cool with you being apart of the Darkness in that, maybe you are one of his creatures that for some reason turned more human than creature. You can have some of the cool powers that they have. If I was going to make a race like that, I guess we could call them the Skotadi ( Just Greek for Darkness, I know I'm lame) It could be a cool thing to write into the lore. Also when the group does get to the War Child, you are going to have a hard time progressing with the group. I can't tell you why because it will ruin the ending but keep that in mind. Just fix his history about being Darkness's son and you are good to go. :)

Aevar Nehois

Age: 29

Race: Human

Personality: Aevar is a very strong-willed and charming individual, he refuses to give up when the going gets tough. He strives to reach his goals, but what would be the point without a good challenge? At least, that's the way Aevar looks at it. Aevar knows the difference between moment-to-moment crisis management and navigating the challenges and steps of a bigger plan, and is known for examining every angle of a problem and not just resolving momentary issues, but moving the whole project forward with his solutions, it's why the King of Theokleia find's him such a great asset. Aevar is self-confident, which is a good trait considering he couldn't be a good leader if he was plagued by self-doubt – he trusts his abilities, makes known his opinions, and believes in his capacities as a leader. Sometimes all this confidence and willpower he has can go too far, and he is all too capable of digging in his heels, trying to win every single debate and pushing his vision, and his alone, which makes him intolerant and impatient. He will not stray from the primary objective, despite the emotions of the people around him. His obsession with efficiency and unwavering belief in the merits of rationalism, especially professionally, makes Aevar incredibly insensitive in pursuing his goals, dismissing personal circumstances, sensitivities, and preferences as irrational and irrelevant.

Bit o'history: Aevar has had a pretty typical life for a male citizen of Theokleia. He grew up in a middle class family, went to school and after school he joined the military. Aevar has always had a sense of duty when it came to the rulers and government of Rhea and Theokleia. He trained and fought hard for his military and in doing so, allowed him to climb in the ranks. He was dubbed Sergeant Major of Theokleia's army. Aevar's brother Svein was killed in action during the Battle of Solace between Rhea and the nation of Chastein. Even though his brother lay dead on the field, Aevar continued to fight and save men from his unit, making him a war hero. After his brothers death, he became cold and disconnected from other people, focusing only on training and fighting.

:Kokih Bonshefe

Age: 25

Race: Uredo

Personality:

Kokih is a creative person who combines a vivid imagination with a strong sense of compassion to resolve not technical challenges, but human ones. She enjoys finding the perfect solution for someone they care about, and this strength makes her an excellent advisor. kokih had a knack for seeing through dishonesty and disingenuous motives, she tends to step past manipulation and into a more honest discussion. She is a astonishingly good orator, speaking with warmth and passion, if she is proud of what she is speaking for. Kokih is determined and passionate when she feels something is important, she pursues that goal with a conviction and energy that can catch people off guard. She will rock the boat if she has to, something not everyone in Rhea likes to see, but it's an inseparable part of her personality. Kokih's strong beliefs and actions are usually to advance the idea that she will make the world a better place. That being said, she is very sensitive. When someone challenges her principles or values she usually responds harshly. She's vulnerable to criticism and conflict and questioning her motives or decisions is a good way to get on her bad side.

Kokih tends to be extremely private about her personal life and it keeps herself from opening up to people and making new friends is a challenge for her. Kokih is defined by her pursuit of ideals, while it may be a powerful quality it's not always practical.

Bit o'history: Kokih grew up on the outskirts of Vallum. She was always interested in space and the history of Rhea. Once she was old enough to travel by herself she made the journey to Theokleia to study and develop her interest further. She studied hard and soon surpassed Theokleia's mid level scholars. Kokih was appointed as advisor and scholar of Theokleia, and in gaining the title and job she would be ridiculed by her peers and people of the land for being an Uredo. Out of spitefulness towards her peers, Kokih started to teach herself black magic and destruction spells. She was close to killing one of her peers, until an elder Uredo had made a visit to Theokleia and he reminded her of her heritage and culture. Uredo are peaceful, fun loveing people, and for her to be so angry meant that she needed to come home and cleanse her heart. She decided to make the trip home, and the advice of the elder did help her see more clear. When she returned to Theokleia nothing that the other people could say brought her down and took her away from learning all she could about Rhea.

Personality: He lives to fight and doesn't mind taking a hit for the team, he's very good at strategy planning but prefers just to go in and swing his weapons. A man of lots of words, his IQ does not always beet his brawn and he'll often seem a little confused in particular situations.

He's kind spirited and real nice guy and won't hesitate to hurt others who have hurt him.

Bit o'history: Born in Wimbourn, Tsutey was one of the best warriors and fighters there before he left to go exploring, setting up his own place once he returned, he had learnt many things and had even taught many others and different species along the way. Known at times as Master Lo'tse, Tsutey became popular in his own home town and sent up an academy for advance weaponry and fighting. Galadon Nerathil

(Character #1 of 2)

Age: Over 6,000

Race: Amicus

Personality: Galadon is a humble protector of the realm. He does not seek glory in the name of a King or a God, but simply wishes for this world to remain unharmed from evil and despair. He is an experienced wizard, and has a particular passion for spellcraft. Galadon can be, however, rather blunt towards some people. He often has a few choice insults for people who show stupidity and incompetence

Bit o'history: Galadon was born in the Elven city of Fellhorn six millennia ago. In his youth, he was said to be a knowledgable fellow with a deep interest in magic. For much of his early life, he has done vigorous study in the arcane arts. Whenever he had free time, he would spend it with his nose buried in his tomes. With time, Galadon's advanced skills in magic gained him the respect of his fellow Amici, though fame did not impress nor satisfy Galadon. After many centuries of living in Fellhorn, he decided to leave the city in order to further his magical studies, becoming a wandering mystic.

Galadon spent many years wandering Rhea seeking to test his mettle and learn from the world. Galadon did not hesitate to uphold an honorable code. He would protect the weak from injustice and would put a stop to evil before it festered. His name spread to many places as his deeds became known.

There came a time when the Darkness crept through the realm, mercilessly devastating Rhea as they consumed all in their path. Even today, the very mention of such foul beasts sends a shiver down the spines of even the bravest men. Galadon was one of the first to stand against the vile threat arrayed against Rhea. He fought valiantly against the Darkness alongside the Lord and Lady. With faith, strength, and wisdom, the great kingdoms managed to save the land of Rhea from total annihilation.

In time, Rhea healed. The banishment of the Darkness ushered in an era of peace and stability, of which Galadon was one of the shepherds. However, a thousand years of peace was broken once more.
The Darkness has returned once more to bring total destruction to the realm. This shocked Galadon greatly. He had not anticipated that the Darkness would break free of their bonds. Nevertheless, he was not going to stand idly by while the world is threatened by consumption once more. He pledges his life to Rhea once more, and makes plans to do battle with them one more time.

Ethon Moretto

(Character #2 of 2)

Age: 27

Race: Human

Personality: Ethon is a witty rogue with a snide attitude, a penchant for debauchery and a dash of promiscuity. He is self-interested, and could not care less for the glories of battle or the purity of fair maidens. Ethon takes a jaded stance towards controversy, which often muddles his judgement quite a bit. He has a very anti-authoritarian viewpoint with a general distrust for government and authority figures, partly due to his extensive criminal record.

Bit o'history: Ethon was the son of two con artists with a rather poor upbringing. The family made their living by selling fake charms and trinkets, making vast exaggerations that they would get rid of your cholera or make your shit taste like roast duck and other ridiculous things like that. Surprisingly, people were always falling for these kinds of frauds and Ethon's parents made quite a buck from their "career".

Ethon of course, contributed his fair share to his swindler parents' crimes. He learned how to lay low, look out for guardsmen, and lie his way out of any situation. Ethon would also have a tendency to steal anything he could get his little hands on, whether it be money, food, or other valuable items that they could fence. When Ethon was twelve, he luckily managed to steal a sword from a drunken soldier. His proud father, who had been a swordsman in a time long past, taught his son how to fight with it.

In time, however, the life of crime finally caught up with Ethon's parents, and they were arrested and hauled away, never to be seen again. Ethon slipped away before they could get their slimy hands on him though. Now that he was without his family, Ethon decided to flee Theokleia. One, because he was a known criminal, and two, because he simply could not contain his wanderlust. He managed to get some proper sword training, and took up the mantle of a sellsword, a dangerous yet also very lucrative career.

Name: Rysol

Age: 26

Race: Baraka?

Appearance:
9ae88f6009e60e89283619a0ec5e9d8f.jpg
Rysol is tall with a muscular body.

Personality: A stubborn, impatient, arrogant and hot headed guy, he holds grudges really easily and never forgets anything he has seen or heard owing to his photographic memory. Bossing him around or giving him orders never bodes well. Despite his volatile temper, he can think clearly when blistering with rage or under immense pressure. Rysol does not believe in others and is cynical when it comes to matters like justice, right and wrong, morality and such. He despises authority and rules, believing that they do not have control over him just because they decided. It is because of this that he hates taking others and makes his own decisions and sometimes does inconceivable things or goes against the majority. He is very critical of others and his sardonic attitude towards others makes him very difficult to get along with. However, his strength, memory and observation powers make him a valuable ally. Rysol's attitude towards a lot of things, his nasty mouth and habitual drinking are a few other things that piss people off and usually cause them to distrust him. While it doesn't show often, Rysol is kind in his own way though his way of doing things has led to others not noticing this. Rysol does not care about his relationships with other humans and will never bother to try and make himself likeable unless he can get what he wants by doing so and it's not too much of a hassle, though this is only the case if they do not already know what kind of person he is. Otherwise, Rysol will never bother with any pleasantries or try to explain himself and justify his actions.

Bit o'history: Rysol doesn't like to talk about his parents and will say little more than that they got on the 'wrong' side of a major issue and it blew up in their faces. He has been moving from town to town for as long as he can remember, hitching free rides without others knowing and engaging in various activities that others would condemn him for. He has no real home, just catching a night's rest wherever he can, whenever he can. He has visited many places over his travels and met many people who consider him bad news. However, due to his travelling, he remembers a lot of things others wouldn't and is quite knowledgeable about various places provided they have not changed too drastically since he last visited it.

Basic Information

Name: Naori

Age: 1000+ Years, Appears in early twenties

Race: Skotadi, Formerly Human

Hometown: Theokleia

Personal Information

Lore:

Long before the war with the Darkness when the Lord and Lady had been tragically petrified to stone, there was a fabled tyrant that ruled over Theokleia. The ancient King was among the last of his family's line as his first wife and Queen had died giving birth to his first stillborn child. Seeing that he had no male heirs, the tyrannical king ordered every female that was not married to a noble be brought before him. And so it was, every single female resident of Theokleia that was not married to another whom had high social status was called upon his audience one by one. The purpose of this was to select a new queen, whether they wanted to be his lady in name or not. But the king wasn't humble, charitable or even bright for that matter. He greedily selected a large number of wives whom he judged attractive enough to 'breed' with. Because many of these women were taken away from their lowborn husbands, a great revolt began to spiral to a rise.

During that year when the King made his mistaken decision, the only allies his family had were high nobles from other great families. His supposed noble allies saw the uprising as a opportunity to obtain the throne for themselves. Because of this, they announced their loyalty to the peasants and their revolt. Paranoid with death staring in all around him, the tyrant pleaded to the Lord and Lady for guidance. But his prayers were unanswered. In a few more days, most of the King's selected wives had died giving birth to stillborn babies the same way his first wife did. Believing that this was a curse from the Lord and Lady, the King denounced the religion and threatened to kill any who worshiped them. The day he announced this change, one of the last of his wives had given birth to a female heir whose hair was golden, But this was a mistake.

The King's family line had raven black hair while the woman who gave birth had a dark brunette color. Knowing that this child was a bastard child of another, he prepared to take his life knowing that he was forsaken in this world by the Gods. Before he unsheathed his family's heirloom, a bastard sword with a thin grisly blade, a cloak of ravens suddenly appeared in his room. Startled from the unexpected flock of birds, the King dropped his sword and tried to scream for his guards. But his voice fell silent in horror. The pure black ravens cast a shadow against the wall of his room which created a dark humanoid figure. A voice spoke to him in a tongue only the King could understand.

It promised the King that he would never lose his throne in the world it would create. The only thing it would need is a small sacrifice for an almighty kingdom it could create that would never die. Seeing as he had nothing to lose, the King humbly accepted the offer. The sacrifice? The newborn with golden hair that shared the King's family name. The King sent the few remaining loyal soldiers into the mothers quarters where she fought in a struggle for the child, but was tragically killed. Returning with the child in arms, the men gave the newborn to the King. Ordering them to leave, he knelt before the shadowy figure that was cast upon the wall.

The shadow accepted his tribute, and with the flicker of the candle lights burning out, the shadow disappeared. The only signs of the shadows existence were the ravens that circled above Theokleia for seven days after. Whatever the shadowy creature was, it never lived up to the bargain that was promised to the King. Within a fortnight, the King and his wives were killed by a trio of brothers of a great family. Forever immortalized from this event as The Ruined King, his legend is mostly forgotten by newer kings of Theokleia and is passed down as a child's tale.

History:

Coldness. Loneliness. Despair. These were words Naori was used to describing both herself and her surroundings. She wasn't raised with loving parents like other children were. Instead, she spread her angelic wings and raised herself. Instead of having a loving mother who would comfort her, she comforted herself with her wings. That was the childhood Naori endured for almost a thousand years in a dimension with no light. But when she emerged to Rhea because of an unknown group that summoned her, her blindness to the light was cured. Naori was bathed in the loving sunlight that highlighted the beautiful palette of colors that made Rhea beautiful. But her first true sensation of wonder and happiness was cut in half as her wings were chopped off with two quick strikes. She let out a loud scream of complete emotional and physical agony before the summoners chained her onto the ground.

The summoners spoke in confused tones and argument as they expected a creature of horror to arrive from their insignificant portal. Instead, they found a crying child with pale white hair who had blood gushing out of her back where the stubs of her wings were. Feeling a sense of pity, the summoners made different suggestions on what they would do with this creature. Some suggested they cut off Naori's head in fear that her child-like form was just a trick. Others suggested that they bring her to a college for further study. In the end, the summoners agreed that killing Naori here wouldn't bring them much benefit. Containing her in a cage with a horse, they traveled many days towards one of the greatest cities in Rhea, Grandor.

When they arrived at a local college, they introduced her to a few more scholars and monks. When the examined her body, they found that the stubs where her wings were turned into normal scars. Baffled, they accepted Naori as a humanoid Skotadi and raised her from childhood to adulthood with the belief that she's always been a servant of the Lord and Lady through different forms of manipulation. Currently, she serves as an unusual knight who bears no armor. So the rumors say.

Personality:

Naori has a largely lacking sense of human emotion because of her isolation from Rhea. The first human contact she's ever had with Rhea was met with agonizing pain as her beloved wings were clipped. Because of this, she suffers from psychological problems when she's met with physical contact. She also has large trust issues and she doesn't prefer to build friendships with anyone. Naori is perceived as completely alien to the cultures and customs of Rhea. Some even consider her to be a monster because of her heritage and treat her as a threat. Overall, Naori is a very troubled individual whose only assets to finding the beloved daughter of the Lord and Lady is her combat skills and limited connection to the Darkness.

Both of you are accepted.

@Mousie I love the detail in your characters history. Leading people on is totally a thing the Darkness would do. :P @Xeyran Very cool ^^ I can't wait to see him interact with Aevar who has the whole my way or the highway mind set.
