The Earth has morphed back into a Pangaea as it was during the Jurassic era. There are a limited number of biomes and far more extreme than they were previously. The most noticeable areas being tundra, desert, and forest.
The world has only three main cities while all other settlements are far smaller villages.
Chaski - The Tundra City
Home to the best mechanics, Chaski is the most technologically advanced of the cities. They are the only city with access to piped water and steam power. However, also being the most densely populated, Chaski has the highest crime and poverty rates.
Chaski's ruling system works as a monarchy and is located in the northernmost part of the continent. Their architects spend a lot of time on rather pointless detailing in the buildings.
Suna - The Desert City
Advanced fortifications and well hidden entrances easily make Suna the safest city to reside in. That accompanied by every citizen having to do at least two years of civil service in the army - regardless of gender or race - have the city be the least likely to lose in a battle. Their engineers are focused on defence and offence, granting them with the best weaponry.
Suna's ruling system works as a socialist state and it is located on the equator. The buildings are built within the rock formations and underground in a series of tunnels.
Tsuri - The Forest City
Having access to a large amount of natural resources, Tsuri rarely feels the need to participate in any battles. They have become the midway point for many confrontations due to their fairly peaceful nature as well as location. However, they will not seek out information on the other cities and keep to themselves. The forests contain a plethora of vegetation, most of which are highly poisonous. However, there are still many medical herbs, letting Tsuri's doctors be some of the best renowned on the planet.
Tsuri's ruling system works on a consensus decision-making approach and the city is located in the dense forests roughly halfway between Suna and Chaski. The buildings are all in trees to prevent most predators getting in.

Valsha - Cave Village
The village is a safe haven for shade demons, preventing sunlight from getting in, regardless of the time of day. It has many entrances linked by a maze of passages that only shades - or one guided by a shade - can navigate without getting lost. Thanks to how deep underground Valsha is located, the demons that reside there have access to a wide vairiety of rare metals and jems, letting them create strong weaponry and ornate jewellery. They have also found the most Old World ruins.
Valsha does not have a ruling system or even a military, thus are particularly bad at strategy and any sort of cooperation. Each shade acts of their own accord.
