The Sad Reality
A Note to All Applicants
It is expected that you have read and agree to the Rules section of this roleplay located in the Rules tab. This is a

requirement

to join! In addition to that, I do have three very specific pet peeves with characters and generally if you hit one of these nerves, I'm going to react negatively. They are as follows:

#1. Importing and/or reusing characters from a different Naruto fandom. I hate this, and not just for my fandom. I hate it for any fandom. I understand that roleplayers have their own perspectives and desire to express their creativity, and sometimes there are trends in that expression, but I have another fundamental belief I will boldly proclaim. The creators of fandoms and alternate universe roleplays often have created them with a specific tone and atmosphere in mind that is a mesh of their own creative perspective and the original content. This is not just me; this is universal. If a roleplayer cannot or simply will not look at the content the creator of a roleplay has created that edits, adds or even subjects from a preexisting universe, then I feel like they are not doing justice to the fandom. A character should be created for the roleplay it is applied for, not imported from another with minor editions.

#1 Addendum
Due to ongoing experiences with this one
(and my increasing frustration with it)

, this is getting an addendum. If you are importing a character, expect to make changes, expect that character to quite possibly not be the same fundamental character you began with and expect absolutely no remorse from me about it. If you are sincerely trying to alter a character to fit them in, fine. If you disagree with a change I made, understand that this is my world and it is inherently different in some ways than even regular Naruto. If you can prove me wrong, do it, but don't argue with me unless you intend on proving me wrong. I swear to the roleplay Gods, this is becoming the single biggest problem for me as a GM and it's going beyond the level of a pet peeve. This is a different time frame, a different setting, a different atmosphere with even more history; almost no character is going to grow up exactly the same, and if they didn't grow up the same, changes will trickle down. If you don't like these changes, just make a new character. I get it: some people like to reuse characters for the sense of familiarity. I understand this. However, I feel that level of attachment disrupts the process of integrating them into this different world and I believe starting with a clean slate makes for the best integration. In short, importing an old character decreases your chances of approval to my estimate of 95%.

#2. Only applying for a specific spot, ie Jounin, and/or refusing low-ranking positions. I shouldn't even have to explain this. While I can understand some people only enjoy certain positions and sincerely only wish to do them in a universe - and in fact do them well - I find it terribly insulting for them to walk into a universe that has had immense effort poured into it to make it unique, especially in fandoms where tremendous effort is required to differentiate it from its source material, and state they only wish to partake in the roleplay under certain circumstances. Literally, any time I see this, my first thought is "What the Hell, I created all of this and you can't find an ounce of inspiration to create a character you would enjoy as a Genin?" While I do kind'a understand where it comes from, it is still my pet peeve and my bias. I'm human, and I simply dislike it. The chances of getting by with it are incredibly slim.

#2 Addendum

The Uchiha Clan is dead. Stop trying. This isn't the exact same as the #2 pet peeve, but it irks me in the same way. Stop it. Just stop.

#3. Getting irritated, upset or refusing a review/critique. The first two pet peeves are somewhat my bias, and will likely result me in simply telling you that this might not be the roleplay for you; that, in turn, is my polite way of saying, "based on your attitude and behavior, I don't want you in my roleplay" - keep note of that just in case you hear it later. This pet peeve, however, is one that can upset me individually, and here's why. I have seen roleplayers with really great ideas and personalities create a character that seems incredibly interesting but only has minor flaws. Literally, trivial flaws that would take no more than ten minutes to edit out. Yet, if they're brought up in a critique, these roleplayers might have an insecurity or simply inability to edit these things because they feel their character was inadequate or they didn't do good enough. Some of these roleplayers I can even later offer to simply let them slide, but they feel that they just can't go on. I have turned down plenty of people in plenty of roleplays for plenty of reasons, but nothing pains me more than to see a roleplayer I was genuinely looking forward to roleplaying with simply not because they couldn't bare a critique. If you are that type of person and you are reading this, be forewarned that every single person and every single character sheet gets a review and has likely been edited. It is not a sign of inadequacy or incapability. And, to that person with just too much pride in themselves or their character, step down off that high horse and realize that if you refuse to make those changes, you are literally costing yourself the opportunity to join in a creative endeavor with others and also costing them your talent. And, finally, to those that just absolutely refuse critique - you best hope it's perfect by my standards the first time because chances are no one is getting in with the first revision of their sheet.

#3 Addendum

Another issue I happen to see, generally with reviews, happens in the form of characters that want to be part of Clans. Put simply, if I can remove the last name of your character and their Kekkei Genkai and/or Hiden, they probably around thematic enough to be in that Clan. Clans are more than just abilities and bloodlines; they are subcultures with traditions and genetic similarities. I expected to see that, and if I don't, chances are you won't be getting into a Clan. While this primarily applies to canon-Clans, it could easily apply to player-made clans, too. While I believe that a custom made Clan should be open to anyone, I will most definitely let the original creator of the Custom Clan decide of a character is

close enough

to their image of a clan member to slide in. Again, this doesn't have to be 100%, but I swear to the Roleplay Gods if anyone ever presents me a blond Hyūga, I will rage and possibly auto-deny.

#3 Addendum

If you make a Genin, understand that most academy-level shinobi are relatively cookie-cutter. You should attempt to stand out with your motivation, personality, interaction, and maybe your specific strengths. If you took the standard fresh-Academy Genin and put them into any combat situation, they would likely be throwing kunai or attempting to dive in with taijutsu. Almost every single Genin will start this way - with exceptions. Oh my dear RP Lords, if I ever hear the complaint 'my character's fighting style seems so weak/bland/pointless' from a Genin with no clear specialization or a future specialization in mind that requires time and training, then you will immediately step on a nerve and get no remorse from me. I want you to interaction and learn and develop as Genin, and part of that might just be starting out like everyone else. There are exceptions, especially for Clans, but if you read the other Pet Peeves, Clans have their own sets of guidelines. So, please, ground your character and their identity in their personality, history and motivation more than their techniques and fighting style.

Furthermore, there have been a few reoccurring inconsistencies with characters that I would like to list to anyone looking to make a character. These have happened a few times, so I'm hoping to save some time in reviews by pointing them out now:

#1 For Genin: The average age of graduation is twelve. Genin have three requirements by Canon: 1) to love the village and hope to preserve peace and prosperity 2) have a mind that will not yield and endure the hard work 3) to be healthy in mind and body. These are things to remember. Genin normally enter the academy around age five, spend seven years in the academy and graduate at twelve. This is to hone their skills, mature their bodies, allow for psychological development and of course condition them as Shinobi. I am seriously attempting to stick to this guideline for all Genin, at least within Konohagakure for now, so do try to implement it.

#2 It has been thirty-three years since the death of Minato Sarutobi and twenty-three years since the end of the Purge, aka the end of the Fifth Great Shinobi War. I have seen characters claim to have parents from the Fifth Great Shinobi War, however, that would make them significantly older than most parents. I have seen characters that claimed to have been born during the War - impossible; they wouldn't be the proper age. Just try to keep this timeline in mind for consistency.

#3 The Fourth Great Shinobi War ended nearly one-hundred and fifty years ago. While this specific timeline is kept somewhat flexible, that's still essentially six generations. It is also when the roleplay diverged from canon entirely. Since then, a lot has changed and just like the last point, this reminder is really to keep general timeline straight for the RP and characters.

#4 For Genin: Compare your Genin to approved Genin, not canon Genin. I cannot emphasize this enough. This roleplay will not have over-the-top Genin that border Chuunin. Tone characters back, tone them down and focus more on making them unique through other venues than their jutsu and abilities. They are still developing and are more than likely getting their first true sensei, whom will help sculpt them for the rest of their lives. Do not set yourself in stone, do not plot too far ahead with your character and above all keep your character consistent with what has been approved.

Every now and then, someone comes at me with a question or idea that irks me to the very core. There are various reasons, some personal, some because they ignored this Note and others because they just didn't understand the world - Naruto or my fandom. Now, without giving away any names in particular, I'm going to share some excerpts of what not to do and why.

"I was thinking about making my character a cursed Uchiha. Making him have the deadliest sharingan's known to man, but not able to use it, because if he uses it he'll get murdered."
―Why it wouldn't work: First, the Uchiha Clan is dead. It's noted in the Settings/Locations tab. Secondly, the use of the phrase "deadliest sharingan's known to man" is a red flag for any GM. Later, this same individual created a character sheet for the character anyway, despite me telling him not to, and noted him as the ten year old son of Sasuke Uchiha - a man that died over a century ago. It was obvious that this individual didn't pay any attention to the Setting or Lore, and even ignored what I told them in a PM with me.

This one is a direct quote, and immediately made me dislike the individual proposing the idea. I'm human, I can't help it, and needless to say this individual didn't make it into the RP.

"with the higher chakra control it was physically making her stoner it was just increasing her speed a little"
Why it wouldn't work: For context, this was on a twelve-year-old Genin. This individual attempted to and in fact repeatedly told me that higher chakra control would result in a physically faster and stronger character. This is false - for the most part. While there are techniques such as Chakra Enhanced Strength, this individual was referring to a passive increase in speed. That is not what chakra control does. Chakra control can allow for greater control over certain jutsu, decreases chakra consumption for jutsu and can decrease the number of handseals needed to be made. It will not magically make a character stronger.

Another direct quote, and one that came from a roleplayer with a character that already had unneeded ties to a Clan. Admittedly, this mostly irked me because the individual continuously argued this point, which is false. This one comes with an underlying message: if I decline something once, arguing over it won't help your cause.

For instance, just to get this out of the way, would you tolerate a character having Scorch Release, Magnet Release, Lava Release, and Dust Release if given proper balancing and everything to a minute detail- for instance making the character extremely inexperienced and weak with it all- as well as full detail as to how they'd possibly have all four of those...?
―Why it wouldn't work: Alright, now this one is iffy. In theory, maybe you could do this. In practice, I'm 99.99% sure I'm not going to allow it. Additionally, some of those techniques are highly-trained skills, such as Dust Release. Others come naturally as an affinity. If a character could use the Kekkei Genkai (and Kekkei Tōta), chances are they'd be skilled enough to be good with them. There would be no real balancing, and inexperience would be moot considering they would have to be educated. I feel like this question wasn't well thought-out and the individual just wanted a bunch of unique releases. This isn't going to work because I'm not going to allow it.

This is another direct quote, word-for-word. No. Just no. Don't even try. While this one didn't enrage me like the Uchiha issue, it did immediately hammer on a nerve and made me feel like the person asking it had a significant level of audacity. The underlying message here: sometimes asking a question can do more harm than good.

―Now, for this next one, I don't have a quote - I have since deleted the characters. However, let me explain to you what they did. On a Genin-level character, they wanted Konan's paper jutsu. Simple enough, in fact, I might have allowed that in some form. However, this individual completely copied their character from another roleplay and quickly copied the content from a Narutopedia page without even editing out Konan's name. If you're that lazy, don't join. Plain and simple.

―And, the final one here, someone attempted to slip in a Rinha Clan Character (movie Clan anyway, so not canon) in addition to giving them another Kekkei Genkai in Swift Release all while being a Genin. There were a few other complications with this character, but in short, if you're just tossing things together in a character, don't join. That might work elsewhere. It won't work here.

Name Enter a brief (1 paragraph minimum) overview of your character personality.

History Enter at least three paragraphs regarding your character history. This is is the single most important entry as it has the most potential to impress me. Suggestions: tie into your character personality, reference important character relations and focus on internal motivation.

Relationships While one might this is optional, it does serve a purpose. A genin must list their sensei and squad members here, although this is not an immediate requirement. This is also important for family relationships, siblings, etc., and is another possible way to impress me. Additionally, if a character has summons, they will be listed as a relationship and as a jutsu.

Appearance & Equipment Yes, I know you can use a reference picture. However, reference pictures aren't perfect. List the eye color, hair color, height and weight of a character here. Additionally, list all of the equipment they may carry and where it is on their respective person. See how it ties into appearance? Good. Equipment has to go somewhere; tell me where and what it looks like.

Primary Jutsu: Nin, Tai, Gen, Ken, etc.

Fighting Style A brief, one-paragraph description of the fighting style of a character.

Unique Traits: Sensor-nin? Put it here. Above average chakra control? Put it here. Above average chakra amounts? Put it here. Uzumaki with strong life force? Put it here. Do you have gills because Kisame did and it made no sense? Put it here. If it is not listed here and it comes up in RP without permission, it won't be coming up in the RP. Also, take into consideration that most characters probably won't have a unique trait. I prefer people to 'train' for their abilities.

Jutsu List Academy-level jutsu (Clone Technique, Transformation Technique, Body Replacement Technique, Cloak of Invisibility Technique, Rope Escape Technique) are almost all learned in the Academy. Clone Technique and Transformation Technique are actually required to graduate with very few exceptions (Rock Lee, for example.) These should all be standard. For canon jutsu, simply link the jutsu from Narutopedia. Real simple. I'll give a template for custom jutsu further down, and they should be listed in an accordion or tab or, at the very least, in an organized fashion.

Note: As long as all of the information presented here is on a character sheet, I do not mind if you edit them. The Simple and Advanced Character Sheet Templates are both applicable. It is 100% the choice of the roleplayer which sheet is used. A few notes on the Advanced Sheet: The Primary Style is essentially the focus of a Shinobi in terms of Classification. Check the classifications list found in the Jutsu Template Section for more information. The Miscellaneous section is designed for Likes, Dislikes, Advantages, Disadvantages and even a theme song if preferred. Anything in the Miscellaneous section is purely optional. In fact, the entire tab can be deleted if desired.

Hikaru Uzumaki

f4b29c2c-ffea-4970-af53-526dfc48938c_zpsjdk5tphd.jpg

Name: Hikaru Uzumaki (ヒカルうずまき)

Nickname(s): Masuyo's Little Brother

Gender: Male

Age: 11

Height: 4'11ft

Weight: 84lbs

Hair Color: Golden Blonde

Eye Color: Sapphire Blue

- Hikaru is a young man with a sharp facial features, a mesomorph build, honey glow tone to his skin and plenty of charisma. He has messy blonde hair and sapphire gem eyes that shimmer in the sun light. He got both from his mother. He wears a loose fitting long sleeve shirt that reveals his collar bone. The sleeves of his shirt are roll back just below his elbow and taped off with medical bandages to stay in place. Over his right bicep is a maroon woven tasseled armband given to him by his father.. Over his shirt he wears a track suit jumper collared with black and plastered with the Uzumaki logo on the back. He taped up his hands so that his knuckles won't be to banged up when he fights. He wears the traditional dark blue sweat pants of the shinobi with wrap bandage around his left thigh. Over the bandage are a two small equipment pouches. He has another pouch on the left side on his lower back. He wears combat boots that cover his ankles and the bandages he has wrapped from his ankles up to his calf. Hikaru has a gold necklace given to him by his grandfather. It is a long necklace that falls to the middle of his chest. Five thin gold bars lay on the necklace and engraved at the bottom of each is the Uzumaki Clan Crest.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagkure

    Clan: Uzumaki

    Personality

    - Hikaru Uzumaki's personality type is a true artists, but not necessarily in the typical sense where he isn't out painting happy little trees. Often enough though, he is perfectly capable of this. Rather, it's that he uses aesthetics, design and even his choices and actions to push the limits of social convention. Hikaru enjoys upsetting traditional expectations with experiments in beauty and behavior – chances are, he's expressed more than once that he doesnt like to be limited. His strengths are his charm, sensitivity, imagination, passion and curiosity to the world around him. His weakness defiantly out weigh his strengths. Hikaru is fiercely independent, unpredictable and has a fluctuating self-esteem thanks to being constantly compared to his brother.

    Motivation

    - Hikaru strives to be his own person, not just Masuyo's little brother.

    History

    - Hikaru Uzumaki was born twelve years after the fifth war. He has a father with the famous Uzumaki red hair and a mother with brilliant gold hair. Hikaru was born with his mothers blonde hair, which was much to her pleasure. Directly after his birth, she held her boy in her arms while rubbing the fact of his hair in his fathers face. Right off the bat, Hikaru had no chance at being normal since he was the second son of two veterans of the fifth war. Growing up Hikaru was taught by his father to fight and led astray by his brother to goof off, always, without fail to be seen by his mother and beaten with the infamous wok. The two brothers would often eat dinner with bandages that weren't from the wrath of their mother. Hikaru went to the academy like his brother. He enjoyed it at first, but he grew tired of it. He didn't have the determination of his father or the concentration of his brother. He had his exhaustion. He slept through a lot of classes and still managed to not fail all the classes. That could be contributed to his father and brother teaching him or to his own talent. No one knows. What the teacher does know that if Hikaru put some effort towards fighting that he could be someone someday. Hikaru graduated the academy, collected his forehead protector and waited further instruction, but for the time being he took it as a vacation. He didnt care about the rankings or the group. He just waited on the mail saying be here on this day. He has been wreaking chaos on the village with plenty of pranks.

Hayato

Anime_boy_by_BloodZaphir.jpg

Name: Hayato Nakamura

Gender: Male

Age: 32

Height: 5'11"

Weight 185lb

Hair Color: Auburn

Eye Color: Green

Hayato is a tall, muscular man of a generally fair complexion. Hayato often uses ninjutsu instead of taijutsu and in combination with the relatively peaceful career he has had as a shinobi, he has no scars to show for combat. He wears the standard black shirt and pants most Konoha shinobi do, however, he sports a brown trenchcoat instead of the green flak jacket. His trenchcoat has the traditional swirls on the sides and he wears his forehead protector on his left arm. Inside his trenchcoat are his twelve small scrolls, tucked away inside specialized compartments. On his back are his larger scrolls. His waist and upper thighs are equipped with standard shinobi pouches that contain all his equipment. Notable accessories include his fingerless gloves, steel plates on the sleeves of his jacket and steel shin guards.

  • Rank:

    J?nin

    Affiliation:

    Konohagakure

    Clan:

    N/A

Personality In his youth, Hayato was a very stern, driven Shinobi. He was far from a prodigy, but his hard work and effort put him alongside the most notably shinobi of his generation. As he aged and even became a J?nin, Hayato relaxed significantly. While he has been on an abundance of missions and is considered an asset to the village, he is also considered one of the least realistic shinobi. In this lifetime, there has been no war. He has rarely seen a battle that pushed him to his limits and has yet to fight opponents he and his comrades could not defeat. While he is far from cocky, he is very relaxed and often doesn't treat his situation and position as seriously as he should. Overall, Hayato is a very carefree, aloof individual.

Motivation Hayato presently lacks motivation. He hasn't seriously trained in nearly five years and mostly gets by in the village by training Genin. Years ago, he was one of the most highly motivated shinobi in the village. He desired to be recognized like the shinobi from clans and to keep up with them and their progression. However, once he reached his goals and even excelled past those that were leaps and bounds ahead of him before, he lost the motivation to grow stronger or be productive.

History Hayato was born before the Fifth Great Shinobi War to civilian parents. While he was too young to remember the war, he grew up during the Purge and stories of great shinobi fighting the Cursed Seal users inspired him to become a shinobi. Hayato was far from outstanding; he came from no clan, had no unique traits, hardly stood out among the others of his class and overall had little going for him. While others were born and bred to be shinobi, he joined the academy on a dream.

That dream became his ambition. If a Senju performed a jutsu one day, Hayato practiced the next week to perform it the next. If an Inuzuka could sprint across a field in ten seconds, Hayato practiced until he could do it in nine. If a Nara could ace a test napping through class, Hayato studied until he scored higher. Despite all of his efforts, Hayato was still only rank eight in his class. His ambition only took him so far. Regardless, Hayato graduated the academy with honors. While he was notably weaker than some of his comrades, every one of them respected him for his efforts and he could give most of them a good fight.

After the Purge had essentially ended, the entire shinobi world was looking for remnants of the past. Hayato was put on several missions with his sensei to scout out the ruins of Otogakure. While it had been destroyed by Minato Sarutobi in his attempt to wipe everything Orochimaru had ever touched off the map, there were still secrets left within the lands. Of these secrets were gruesome body modifications and complex notes on experiments. Some of which could be replicated. Some that couldn't. It was these body modifications from the former Land of Sound that ultimately inspired Hayato.

With permission from the Hokage and consent of a medical team, Hayato opted to have air tubes implanted in his palms and arms. He had already tested for the Wind nature, and he was looking for an edge. As time went on and his comrades from clans such as Senju, Uzumaki, Hy?ga went on to become Ch?nin, Hayato felt he needed an edge. When he was fifteen, he had the implants put into his arms. By the time he was seventeen, he was promoted to Ch?nin. Two years later, he became a Tokubetsu J?nin. With the abilities he was mastering and even advancing beyond what the original schematics for the implants were designed for, Hayato was becoming an elite shinobi in no time and he was finally feeling accomplished with himself.

At age twenty-three, Hayato was offered a spot in the ANBU. He realized the ANBU wasn't for him, but became a fully-fledged J?nin instead. While Hayato had effectively became a master of his techniques and fighting style, he felt that there was no need to go further. What was he training for? He constantly questioned what he was doing. When he was first made a sensei, he felt like he was just continuing a pointless cycle. There was no war. The Genin he was training would do the same thing he was as a J?nin. While he was heralded for his raw effort and intense drive, Hayato transitioned into middle-age mediocrity. It has been five years since Hayato created a new technique and his friends call him a 'dulling blade' as he hardly practices or trains beyond what is needed for his Genin.

Name: Satoshi Uzumaki

Nickname(s): Red, Sato

Gender: Male

Age: 12 Years

Height: 5ft 4inch

Weight: 127 lbs

Hair Color: Red

Eye Color: Green

Satoshi stands at a relatively short height with a slim-muscular build. Donning the distinctive Uzumaki red hair, it is very hard to miss him, this is also due to his dull fashion sense as he tends to only stick with plain colours. Satoshi doesn't carry that much equipment, as he feels that if he carried too much equipment it would just weigh him down in a fight. So he only has two kunai knives which are usually placed in a small pouch on his waist and his katana sword, which is slung diagonally across his back which allows easy reach and enables him to draw the blade swiftly should he need to. Satoshi' uniform consists of black pants and a short sleeved white shirt, as well as a black vest that acts as an extra layer. The vest has the Uzumaki Clan symbol on the back of it, coloured in the same white as his shirt. His konoha headband is situated around his neck, positioned loosely but tight enough so that it doesn't fall off.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konoha

    Clan: Uzumaki

    Personality

At first glance, you'd think he was a troublemaker but in actuality, he's not. Satoshi is a very down to earth and caring person who never puts himself first and strives to do good, for the sake of others. He takes his role as a shinobi very seriously, and enjoys training very much. In fact, it's probably the only thing he ever does. Train. Satoshi isn't the calmest of people, unfortunately, and is most definitely hot-headed. He is easy to tease and for some odd reason he will always react, this has been something that has happened since well...for ever. Satoshi cannot stand silence, and will always try break the silence should it occur. He can be quite loud at times which some would say is a bad thing, but to him it's quite the opposite, as if he is loud people will know he is present. Although despite this, Satoshi is actually very intelligent, and has a good grasp of his abilities at his current level as a genin. He is always pushing himself and adores a challenge as he believes that he'll succeed more if he manages to combat challenging scenarios. Satoshi also follows rules very closely, and will always do his best to stay in line. However if it's for the good of his comrades, he will be more than willing to go against the rules. He is also incredibly selfless, which could be viewed as either a good or a bad thing.

    Motivation

Satoshi dreams of becoming a shinobi with as much skill as his father. His main motivation however, comes from the idea that he could have the power to be able to protect people in the years to come. All he wants to do is protect, and this alone is his motivation.

    History

Satoshi is the youngest child of Shin Uzumaki, the shinobi who is renowned as the strongest in the world as well as the head of the ANBU. Growing up, he never lived a quiet life, with his entire family being accomplished shinobi he has always had to live with the pressure and expectations to follow suit. During his younger years he would do nothing but train vigorously almost every day in the hopes of one day becoming as strong as his father. Satoshi idolises his father for his accomplishments as well as his legacy, he aspires to be like him when he becomes older as he feels like that would be the best thing to do. However, being the youngest of the family as well as the child of the Fourth God of Shinobi, the pressure is great. And at times, can be quite unbearable.

His mother was a strong kunoichi but gave that all up to become a full time housewife while her husband would go about his work. She would teach Satoshi what is to be expected of him and everything necessary in life that would not he taught by the academy. Satoshi is very close with his mother, he would spend nearly all pf his time with her until he hit the age of seven, when he was enrolled into the academy to start his journey of becoming a full-fledged Shinobi.

During his time at the academy, he exelled the sensei's expectations by miles with above average grades. Throughout the years he was always improving. Satoshi was always a very talkative student and undoubtedly got on his classmates nerves, although he found it easy to make friends which was a good thing. Satoshi would always train, non stop, day in and day out. He always had a burning passion to further improve his abilities and even now, still holds that sentiment today. People say he is much like his father in that sense. In fact, nearly everyday Satoshi would have to deal with the small comments of people saying how much he looks like his father, and even though some parts of his personality is like his fathers he is much more like his mother.

Satoshi has always excelled in the art of kenjutsu, a trait he inherited from his father. Due to this, Satoshi would always seek out his father to help him improve his skills, when he was available and not busy with his work from the ANBU. Although such sessions with his father would be scarce as the man would always have a lot on his plate and was, well, a very busy man. But when Satoshi did get help from his father they were always valuable lessons. Satoshi would even receive stories about the Fifth Great Ninja War from his father, and these stories only helped increase the young boys idolisation towards the war veteran.

He has only recently graduated from the academy, and is eager to meet his teammates. And begin the true journey.

Kyouka

Name: Kyouka Aruhane

Nickname(s): Kyou

Gender: Female

Age: 13

Height: 5'5

Weight: 127 lbs

Hair Color: Honey blonde

Eye Color: Light washed out blue

You'd most likely catch Kyouka wearing rather muted colours, usually in the form of tank-tops and shorts. She doesn't like to show off, but because of her rather un-modest clothing choices (For temperature reasons), her physique is quite outwardly visible. Defined muscle, long limbs, slender build. Generally irked facial expressions, though she's be known to smile on occasion when training by herself.

She keeps her various weapons strapped in easy to reach places; Kunai on the right thigh, Shuriken on the other. A backpack with essentials and anything else she might need, though she travels pretty light. Her headband is tied in the traditional across-the-forehead style, but it sometimes finds it's way down and over her eyes during impromptu naps or when she's purposefully not paying attention.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: Unknown

    Personality

Kyouka is not outwardly a people person, but a real go-getter nonetheless. Coming off as rather withdrawn and even snappish towards others at times, she rarely appears to be anything other than mildly annoyed. She argues with superiors, challenges her classmates to fights instead of conversations, and has very strong opinions that she isn't afraid to voice. The blonde follows her gut and her own moral code over everything else, including the ninja rules themselves. She even thinks they're quite stupid, from the ones she's heard about so far. Kyouka's too smart to say this out loud of course, but her perspective on such things is clearly brought out in her need to question everything her teachers… Well, teach.

    Motivation

Recognition, mostly. She wants to do well in training, she wants to impress the people she actually cares for. Becoming strong and getting noticed for her efforts is what drives her forwards, makes her train longer, harder, and more often than is probably good for her.

    History

Kyouka was brought into this world alone. She was born in a rush, healers from Konoha frantically trying to keep her ever-fading mother alive long enough to get the baby out. And while they did manage the birth, the wailing baby's mother did not make it through. With her father unknown and her mother having no known familial ties, Kyouka was soon brought to the Konoha Orphanage and left to be cared for there.

Growing up around other children, you'd think she'd be more of a people person. But being around so many others, she only felt more alone. One more mouth to feed, one more kid taking up space in the orphanage. The days passed in muted boredom and numbness, weeks turning into months and years. But as the time stacked up, and Kyouka got bigger and older, suddenly a new possibility was there.

    The Academy.

Even orphans could train to become Shinobi. And becoming someone people looked at and noticed seemed like a painfully more exciting alternative to her current life. As soon as she was allowed and accepted, she dove in with so much vigour that she sprained her ankle on the first day of training. Even then, the place was a godsend to her. She was so ready and willing to learn that she breezed through half of the first year of training, with only a few snags about her personal code VS the Shinobi Rules.

Despite her immediate love for training, Kyouka still had -and still has- trouble relating to other people. She either treats them like they will always be strangers, or as a challenge to be beaten. Most avoided her because this intensity, so she had very few friends.

The only people she could really relate to were her teachers. She loved them. She wanted their respect because she respected them. But even so, she challenged every single one every step of the way, each decision they made for her or her class.

Once Kyouka graduated, things just seemed to get better. She started actually learning what she wanted to learn, getting stronger in ways the Academy couldn't teach. She quickly took to more physical fighting, enjoying the feeling of hitting things and having them either push back or leave bruises. An almost masochistic outlook on training, but it was the only contact she ever got besides sparring, and it was good enough.

However… She has no real goal to reach for, at the moment. No parent's footsteps to follow, no dreams of greatness or a particular rank to achieve. Kyouka trains because she wants to, because it feels good in her mind and body. If keeping that feeling means protecting Konoha or going on missions, than by all means that was what she would do.

Kyoden "Kyo" Shiratori

Name: Kyoden Shiratori

Nickname(s): Kyo

Gender: Male

Age: 12

Height: 5'5 ft (1.65 meters)

Weight: 125 lbs (56.7 kg)

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Green

Kyoden stands at an average height and build, and besides his bright green eyes, appears to be average in every other way. He is one to experiment with new fighting styles in order to find a new niche; this has unfortunately lead to more than his fair share of accidents that have left small scares from his efforts. He hopes to master sealing techniques soon enough that this won't be necessary, though he has learned enough to carry extra hand weapons in a group of seals that he places into zipped up pockets of his dark green overcoat for easy access. Kyoden also has a belt of pouches that allow him to carry Shuriken and smaller seals, while his long grey pants are fairly the same in terms of pockets to carry shuriken, seals, and the few kunai. He also wear a metal plated glove on his left hand, but not his right. Finally, crossed behind the small of his back are his mainstay Bukijutsu weapons, a pair of metal tonfa.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: Shiratori family (Civilian)

PersonalityKyoden is very sincere, and usually good hearted. He is a logical person, who relies on his intelligence and profound realities, and always tries to include people and events within his own logic. Objective and not easily influenced, when convinced of a cause he is able to fully devote himself, and only when he is completely certain he is right does he have complete confidence in himself. His strong desire to be straight, honest, fair, sometimes pushes him towards an authoritarian behavior that is not always appreciated. He prefers to stay under the radar in order to best utilize the element of surprise against those he would come to fight, so he can come across as silent or perhaps even strange. Those that get to know him however, can find a friend and confidant for life if they so wish.

Motivation Originating from a civilian family, Kyoden originally thought of the life of a ninja as to escape his supposed destiny of being pointed toward taking over his families merchant business. He resolved himself to commit himself fully to becoming a shinobi. Witnessing the determination of those that were heirs of ninja clans around him, Kyoden became further inspired to prove that he deserved to work among them as an equal; to do his village and family name proud, to be a well-versed ninja that emerged from a civilian family to protect Konohagakure to his up most. In a broad sense, Kyoden has an idealistic attitude in regards to his shinobi service. Though with a chance encounter with a veteran of the 5th Great Shinobi War, who Kyoden never managed to find out who they were, has left him with a feeling of dread as he approaches his full term of service as a genin.

History Kyoden was not originally born inside Konohagakure, though it may be more accurate to say he was not born within the walls of the village, as his parents were still in transit to the village. His father was an up and coming merchant that was attempting to bring in goods and services to supply the growth of the shinobi forces in the village hidden in the leaves, while his mother was from Konoha itself, and was blacksmith of good skill, which allowed his family to remain rooted within one position.

They could not ask for much more within Konoha, as the nation was well-protected after successfully rebuilding its' might after nothing more than three decades. Kyoden of course grew up hearing horror stories of the 5th Great Shinobi War, and the dark century under the Daimyo before that. Both of his parents barely remembered those times despite having been so closely linked in time to it relatively. Both spoke of what their parents told them, his grandparents that he had never meet; they said that civilians were not much threatened in the way, but many people could not shake the feeling of dread sometimes. When it came that the shinobi openly rebelled, that was when his grandparents began to fear, or so he had been told. Kyoden's parents did remember the times of the purge, though they never saw any hint of that during their actual life, all news was of ambushes in far off mountains or terrain that no civilian dared cross. They were just happy that that all of the catastrophe was in the past and that they had earned a life of relative ease with their work to occupy them.

Kyoden however, like many of those that were not subject to such horrors, took the peace that was won to be nothing more interesting to occur than what had happened almost two decades ago. This feeling was compounded as he grew older and began to hear his parents discuss with him about which side of the family business he would take over; this of course drew Kyoden to become extremely stressed as he felt that he had no choice but to accept that he would become a merchant and worker like his parents before him. However, he soon got an amazing idea from someone he knew growing up, a member of one of the village clans of all things, to enroll in the shinobi academy to test his luck as a warrior. Kyoden soon took to exercising and practicing exerting his chakra as much as he could in preparation, but it soon became evident that he would need to inform his parents in order to actually enroll, and so he confessed his plans to them with slight trepidation.

They took the news as well as Kyoden expected, as he had not seen as angry as he did when he mentioned the term shinobi. They ended up arguing, and discussing this for much of the night he told them until the dawn began to peak over the horizon. He didn't know what it was that actually convinced them, but Kyoden's parents agreed, with their own trepidation, that they would allow him to enroll in training as soon as the new classes were set to start.

So Kyoden set out on his newly thought of life-goal of succeeding in becoming a shinobi; he trained exceedingly hard, as he had never experienced such a vigorous and self-imposed goal as establishing himself as a shinobi. It definitely worked out for him once he saw the aptitude of his fellow classmates, some of whom were actual members of various shinobi clans, and some who were civilian born like himself. His work ethic, as much as one could be said at his age, allowed him to stay well within the ranks of his classmates never falling behind in regards to the expected skill level of his years.

It was all going well for Kyoden, and his pride was starting to swell; until one night after finishing up some late practicing and was proceeding home when he accidentally ran into a rather imposing figure. Kyoden did his best to apologize, but the figure had none of it, claiming that he knew Kyoden was an academy student and that he had better quit quick, before he ended up losing himself. Kyoden was already exhausted from his workout, and thus did not stop himself in time to yell out about 'WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING A SHINOBI!?'. Kyoden is certain that he will remember that soul withering glare for the rest of his days; two darkened, almost dead looking eyes that seemed to pierce straight through his heart and force Kyoden to actually recoil in fear. The figure said nothing, instead turning to walk away and leave Kyoden to silence; he had no need to say anything, as everything was conveyed through one solid look, though Kyoden could barely make sense of it.

Kyoden became slightly obsessed, and began researching about Shinobi and how they created illusions sometimes even through combat, or more simply the art of Genjutsu. Kyoden once again felt a fervor to learn more about this art, as he was convinced that the darkened figure had placed a genjutsu upon him, paralyzing him in absolute fear. However, Kyoden soon discovered just how difficult it was to learn actual genjutsu combat techniques, let alone simple illusory techniques. This did not dissuade him though, as he began to look into training his genjutsu skills to become combat ready, while also practicing a more visceral combat technique with seals and his new metal tonfa, which his mother had gifted him. His growing knowledge of genjutsu becoming larger each passing day as he read through legends of old and recounts of days past, preserved by the shinobi rebels that defied the Daimyo, when there were shinboi that could literally drive an opponent to defeat without ever having to touch them outright. Such a power was a draw to Kyoden, and he could not wait to begin actually practicing such techniques that had become almost a lost art.

Though that darkened figure still dances in his mind, and the feelings of dread to go along with it, Kyoden is dead set on doing good by himself and his parents trust, and to become a shinobi worthy of the title.

Kokuro Tsengami

Name: Kokuro Tsengami

Nickname(s): The Bloody Harpy of the Leaf, The Leaf's Drunk Harpy, Old Woman Tsengami.

Gender: Female

Age: 51

Height: 5'6"

Weight: 150 Ilbs

Hair Color: Brown/Grey flecked

Eye Color: Hazel

Kokuro is a woman whose age is starting to show on her face; the start of creases and wrinkles blemishing her once clear complexion, and her hair is starting to become flecked with grey. Despite this many comment that she looks good, for her age, and as a veteran of the Fifth Shinobi War is remarkably well-preserved. Despite this she has a number of battle scars marking her torso, arms and legs; accumulated over decades of combat experience. Kokuro lost her right eye during a battle with the Minato fissions, and conceals this wound with a leather eye-patch. She also carries an especially large scar which runs along her left forearm; a wound gained from a Curse-Mark User during the early years of the Purge. When preparing to go into battle, Kokuro wears a standard-issue Leaf flak jacket with arm and knee protectors. She supplements this with wrist and ankle braces, and when venturing into bad weather conditions she often wears a Leaf Village poncho. Kokuro also wears an equipment pouch on her waist, thin framed glasses, and her Leaf Village forehead protector in its proper place.

  • Rank: J?nin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: N/A

    Personality

When she was younger Kokuro was a bitter, cynical, and eager to prove her independence. She was shaped by the time in which she grew up, and while her sourness allowed her to survive it did not endear herself to those she encountered. During the Fifth Shinobi War Kokuro became hardened and fierce, a war veteran who'd seen it all and would gladly throw herself into the jaws of death for her cause. While she had dispelled her old cynicism, her new-found professionalism was constant, and prevented her from ever relaxing with her comrades or even enjoying their company. After the war Kokuro's edges softened, however, the old toughness unnecessary in times of peace. Kokuro remains graying and battle-scarred, committed to her duty to the Village, but she now expresses it through her relationships with others and by taking responsibility for the training of young ninja, rather than with the edge of a kunai.

    Motivation

When she was younger, Kokuro was motivated by a determination to eradicate the Daimyo order and restore the Shinobi way. However, now that the war has ended, she is driven by an urge to rebuild the village and restore the Leaf to its former glory. Much of this new-found motivation stems from guilt. Kokuro is not proud of many of the things she did during the War and the Purge, and above all feels the need to redeem herself for some of the acts she has committed.

    History

As a child, Kokuro was always stern and cynical, independent to a fault, a constant naysayer upon every word her Sensei and Senpai offered to her. This is hardly surprising. Kokuro grew up under the rule of the Daimyo, where the study of Ninjutsu and the Shinobi way was forbidden by Minato Sarutobi and his Curse-Marked troops and was punished most severely. Kokuro matured early, transitioning through a number of Sensei as each was tracked down and killed by Cursed-Mark users, one by one. Having been born in the land of Fire, Kokuro affiliated herself as a young teenager with the Konohagakure branch of the Allied Shinobi Rebellion. The girl succeeded in the rebellion, a quick learner with an intuitive grasp for Ninjutsu, she quickly rose through the ranks. As the Allied Shinobi forces grew nearer to their objectives, the forces of the Daimyo grew more complacent. Kokuro honed her skills with the resistance, biding her time and waiting for the moment that they would fight back.

And when that moment came, Kokuro was on the frontlines. Eighteen years old and reaching the prime of her life, Kokuro joined with her fellow shinobi in fighting the Daimyo establishment. She fought in the margins of some of the greatest heroes of the Fifth Shinobi War, and managed to kill several Curse-Mark Users in her own right. Kokuro was part of the assault team, dozens of shinobi strong, who went after the lone Minato clone that lived in what had once been Konoha. The battle was vicious and bloody; and during its course Kokuro was severely wounded, and knocked out cold.

She awoke hours later, lying in a makeshift triage with her right eye covered by bandages, all sight lost. Kokuro missed the conclusion of the Fifth Shinobi War as she lay recuperating, but celebrated with the rest upon Minato's downfall. However, Kokuro's duty was far from over. A new member of the newly reformed Leaf ANBU black-ops unit, she partook in the Purge with a willingness and vigor which, in hindsight, she finds repulsive. She became good at killing Curse-Mark users, perhaps one of the best. She made up for the loss of her eye through an electrolocation technique she developed, and over the decade of the Purge she honed her skills and forged her reputation. She no longer stood in the margins, as she had during the Fifth Shinobi War, but now was centre-stage in the Land of Fire. "The Leaf's Bloody Harpy", they called her, and Kokuro certainly was bloody.

However, as she aged Kokuro grew as a person. her personality developed; the hardships of war both soothing her desire for independence and her unceasing cynicism, while the pleasantries of peace dulled the hard ruthlessness acquired during the Purge. Once the massacre had drawn to a close, Kokuro started to regret, in hindsight, some of the things she had done, the adults and children she had killed. There were some nights where she couldn't sleep, and others where she would awake in a cold sweat after nightmares filled with cold, dead faces. Five years after the end of the Purge, at the age of thirty-three, Kokuro left the ANBU. For a while she turned to drinking, frequenting Sake-bars so often that some of the younger, less worldly shinobi amended her moniker to "The Leaf's Drunk Harpy". Kokuro's life started to slip though her fingers. While her fellows got married and produced the next generation, she remained rooted in the past and what she had done.

Finally however, at the urging of her friends, Kokuro started to accept teams of Gennin, fresh from the academy. At first she struggled, finding their petulance and carelessness infuriating. Then she started to grow accustomed to teaching, and finally she started to enjoy it. At forty-nine Kokuro Tsengami, the Leaf's Bloody Harpy, became a teacher. She still teaches now despite her grizzled age, and waits expectantly for the next generation of gennin to arrive.

Name: Ichir? Akimichi

Nickname Ichi the Redeemer

Gender: Male

Age: 12

Height: 4'11"

Weight: 103lb

Hair Color: Light Brown

Eye Color: Light Brown

Ichir? has many of the common characteristics of the Akimichi: the light brown hair and eyes, flush face, slim eyes. However, he lacks one the girth the clan is known for. Ichir? is a very skin lad, and despite his intense physical training, he also lacks significant tone in his muscles. His build, aside from being somewhat short, is essentially average and there isn't anything outstanding about him. He often wears lightweight clothes instead of the heavier armor the Akimichi Clan is known for and has just a few pouches on his belt containing his equipment.

  • Rank:

    Genin

    Affiliation:

    Konohagakure

    Clan:

    Akimichi

    Personality

Ichir? is slightly anti-social, but not completely at his own fault. Many are wary around him and few ever try to make friends with him. He also has a short temper and while he is quick to follow a system or structure he absolutely hates working with peers. His teamwork skills fall short while his individual capability is rather high. Ichir? tends to believe he can do just about anything on his own and is set to prove it. Ichir? is quick to take up challenges, get himself in over his head and do whatever it takes to prove himself. While his goal is to prove his father was a good man, sometimes he confuses proving his own capability and strength with his actual motivation.

    Motivation

Ichir? is primarily driven by the frustration and rage caused by having his family torn apart and his father's name slandered. Verbally abused from a young age and treated more like a patient or subject than a child, he has set out to prove that he and his father were more than they are made out to be.

    History

Ichir? is first and only son of the late Chir?den Akimichi, a former Police Officer for Konohagakure during the Era of the Daimy?. His father was faithful to the village and went as far as taking on a Cursed Seal to become an officer for Minato Sarutobi. While he served as a loyal and benevolent officer, he was one of the many targets during the Purge. The exact date of his execution is unknown, but his identity shifted from an outstanding officer to a fugitive of the Daimy?, and thus marking Ichir? and his mother for life. Before Ichir? could even speak, he was labeled as a Cursed Child and considered a bad omen to the village.

His father eluded the Seal Hunters and ANBU for years after the Purge had 'officially' ended. He had even lied to his wife about his identity and attempted life as a civilian in a small village in the outskirts of the Land of Fire. His contentedness, however, led to his capture, and ultimately the aforementioned execution. Coming from a Noble Clan, it was deemed absolutely unacceptable to allow him to live. Ichir? was taken into custody by the ANBU. Cursed Children, ie children born of an individual whom wore a Cursed Seal, were seen having traces of the abilities granted by the Curse Seal, yet did not harbor any remnant of the Daimy?'s soul. Like a handful of other Cursed Children, most notably older and abducted during the Purge, Ichir? was allowed to live under the supervision of Konoha. His mother was allowed to visit him, but he was kept in custody by the Uzumaki Clan for the most part, as were the other Cursed Children, to observe his behavior.

While the Uzumaki treated him like a patient or a test subject, the village treated him like a bad omen. His mother eventually remarried and visited him less and less. Ichir? grew up with few friends, and he hated that his father was called a Dog of the Daimy?. His mother had always told him stories of his father, saying that he was a fair man and beloved by the people of the village before propaganda was turned against him. At ages as young as six or seven, he would argue with other children about the Cursed Seals and how not all of them were bad. It never mattered. Ichir? had it in his mind that he would prove his father was a good man by becoming a great shinobi himself, and requested to join the academy. Other Cursed Children had joined before to varying successes, so he was allowed.

Ichir? proved a very capable shinobi within the academy and the Akimichi Clan offered to take him in and train him inside the Clan. After all was said and done, Ichir? proved to be capable with the Multi-Size Technique, however, he could not carry weight like the Akimichi. It was believed his nature as a Cursed Child kept him slim and his body more regulated, and this ultimately prevented him from using certain signature abilities of the Akimichi Clan as well as fully utilizing the Multi-Size Technique. Despite the complications with his Hiden, Ichir? blazed through the academy and graduated in the fourth spot of his generation. He proved highly effective at Taijutsu, working on it primarily to vent his rage, and notably capable with the Academy jutsu thrown his way as well as the techniques from the Akimichi he was taught.

Ichir? has been recognized by the Akimichi as another noble shinobi from one of the last three remaining noble clans, but the rest of the village still views him as a Cursed Child. While he has found a home in his clan and gained the approval of the Uzumaki, he is far from proving himself and even farther from proving anything about his father.

She laughs when she trains, she laughs when she's nervous, she laughs when she cries, and she laughs when she's happy. Laughing is a part of how she expresses her emotions. For Suzume, laughing doesn't mean that she's happy all the time. It's just that she can't stand being gloomy. This girl doesn't like to confront her problems outright, for which her mother and father had called her somewhat of a coward for. Even so, she just doesn't like to face her problems. She likes to work her way around it before confronting head on.

    Motivation

She as no real motivations to become a kunoichi. Her parents had been training her before they even explained to her what being a ninja truly meant, but they gave her a choice to become ninja. What else was she supposed to say after they had trained her to fight from a young age? She partly blames the pressure of becoming a kunoichi on her older siblings, who were also given a choice to become ninja, yet did not take it. All she wants is to not disappoint her parents and succeed in being a kunoichi. Even she knows that this is a crappy reason to get herself involved in the dangerous world of ninjas, but she doesn't want to disappoint her parents. In the end, Suzume hopes that becoming a kunoichi is worth something to her like it was worth to something to her parents.

Update: She wants to get stronger to fight to protect her village, family, and her friends, more to protect her friends and family than the village. But as always, she feels like she should also enjoy life. Maybe the reality of the situation hasn't sunk in yet.

    History

Her father Kaito and her mother Izume are currently both jonin who took part in the Fifth Great Shinobi War when they were genin. Kaito trained by himself as a ninja who came from a civilian clan, and Izume trained in secret with her father and brother during the Fifth Great Shinobi War. Although there were often close calls, none of the clan members died. After the Fifth Great Shinobi War, Izume found Kaito and married, which led to them having Suzume. As the eldest, Izume was made the clan head shortly after Suzume turned four.

Both parents trained her from the age she was able to go to the academy, teaching her chakra manipulation at an early age. The training started out easy, but became rigorous over the years. Despite the rigorous training, Suzume had fun sparring and learning new things from her parents. She couldn't ask for more loving and caring parents. Suzume never really experienced any of the horrors that would await her when she became a ninja, but her father and mother made sure to explain to her what becoming a ninja entailed. As much as they wanted their daughter to follow in their footsteps, they didn't want her to walk into the ninja life without knowing what she was getting into.

Suzume carried on with her academy training as well as the training she was given at home. She never wanted to disappoint her parents, so she did her best in school, being one of the top students in the academic and practical portion. Whenever she failed to do something right, she often held her head down and threw herself into training until she could get it right. And when she realized that her parents hated to see her sad, she tried her best to always be happy. Whenever her mother was stressed because of work, she tried to smile to cheer her up. As a result, Suzume often smiled whether she was feeling sad, happy, or mad. Of course, all these smiles looked different. The only time she is definitely going to be serious is when she's seriously training. That is when a look of determination surfaces on her face.

Muranami Clan

Clan Head Izume Muranami

The Muranami Clan - resides in Konohagakura no Sato as a minor clan associated with medicine that has been around for about seven generations. They specialize in chakra manipulation, more specifically chakra weaving. It is a medic center for shinobi and civilians alike, and also functions as an orphanage. For unknown reasons, the members born into the main branch have "me" at the end of their first names with the exceptions of Ken, Ren, and Kazuto Muranami.

Background

Origins The clan was founded between the Third Great Shinobi War and the Fourth Great Shinobi by Ken Muranami. Ken Muranami was originally born in Konohagakure, but was the son of two civilians. As his older friends were all shinobi, he took the path to become a shinobi. Ken struggled his way to chuunin and developed his ninjutsu style during his time as a chunin. As he neared retirement, he founded an orphanage that housed civilians and shinobi who were orphaned as a result of the Third Great Shinobi War. They became family.

Major Event During the Third Great Shinobi War, Ken lost many friends and was allied with a puppet master who explained to him about his mastery of chakra strings and how he used it to control his puppets. Ken was not a puppet master, so he decided to somehow make chakra strings work with his fighting style in honor of his comrade. It was not until after the Third Great Shinobi War that he was able to finally come what with what he called chakra weaving. There were endless possibilities, he discovered with his children in the future.

During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, the Muranami Clan was still a minor clan, and they continued to develop their chakra weaving techniques. Since the clan housed civilians as well as shinobi, the civilians started to treat wounds that people did not bother taking to the hospital saying that "They could be useful too." Civilians began to eventually learn enough chakra control to perform the Unsealing Technique; later, it became a requirement for the clan members to be able to do at least the Unsealing Technique even if they chose not to become shinobi. Of course, some just couldn't manipulate chakra, but they were still made useful in the clinic. Eventually, people started to come to the Muranami clan for minor injuries they could not treat themselves or injuries they did not want to bother the hospital with. Now, the Muranami Clan stands as both an orphanage and a clinic run joint-run by a strange mix of civilians and shinobi.

During the Fifth Great Shinobi War, all training to become shinobi stopped immediately in fear of their family members being slaughtered. Although their orphanage and clinic was permitted to continue to exist, the Muranami Clan stopped being shinobi altogether. There were some protests throughout the family, but that soon stopped because everyone had someone they didn't want to lose in the family. They didn't want to risk any more deaths than necessary and stopped shinobi activity. However, they stilled practiced chakra control to seal and unseal materials in scrolls. In fear of that knowledge getting out, however, this was kept a secret from the rest of the world until the end of the Fifth Greath Shinobi War.

Abilities

General The Muranami Clan is a clinic and orphanage, and their clan members are not all related by blood. The clinic is for the people who have injuries, but do not necessarily need to go to the hospital. Because of the clinic, all the clan members have at least basic knowledge of how to treat medical injuries even if they don't use medical ninjutsu. Their Hiden is Chakra Weaving. You will see almost all the clan members carry around a scroll with water, medical materials, and even some earthly objects for the use of their clan jutsu. Even if they are not ninja, they are required to learn basic chakra control and learn at least the unsealing technique.

Chakra Weaving

Chakra weaving was "invented" by Ken Muranami, who pulled the idea from the way puppet masters manipulate chakra strings. Chakra weaving makes use of chakra strings, making thin strands of chakra and weaving them together into objects and/or persons. The weaved chakra ties back to the user in the form of chakra strings, but the chakra strings are not visible since they are thin. The main jutsus involving chakra weaving involve weaving chakra into liquid or earthly materials to move them. The reason this works is for earthly materials is because there is natural energy in those earthly materials, making it easier for the users to control the material. For example, if a user wanted to weave chakra into water, they would have to have a specific amount or area of water that they would want to weave their chakra into before weaving. If they wanted to weave chakra into, say, leaves, then they need only to weave a small amount of chakra that can be tied back to them. Control of the materials can be done with or without the use of jutsu/hand signs, but moving objects without the use of jutsu is very advanced and therefore, used by ninja who are at least experienced jonin. The user must touch the object they desire to weave their chakra long enough for them to weave the chakra and "leave their mark." For beginners, weaving chakra will take several moments. For experienced weavers, the process will only require a touch. The chakra strings are not easily broken, but if put up against a Hyuuga, a Muranami would be wise not to use chakra weaving often.

Chakra weaving can also be used on non-earthly material, such as kunai and shuriken, with enough training. However, it is much harder to control the movements of non-earthly materials. There are many different possibilities of how chakra weaving can be used such as weaving chakra to enhance defense, chakra weaving to change the projectile of a weapon, and chakra weaving to keep a person's mouth shut, which also applies to chakra weaving to "stitch" a wound.

Unique Traits Sensors are more likely to appear in this clan due to the required knowledge of basic chakra control early in their lives and history of chakra weaving masters.

Name: Juro Ningya

Nickname(s): N/A

Gender: Male

Age: 12

Height: 5’1

Weight: ~100lbs

Hair Color: Red

Eye Color: Red

Juro generally wears his black robe over his body though his face is left bare and his hood is only ever used as protection from the rain. Beneath this he wears a loose cloth shirt and pants. Strapped to the front of his shirt but beneath his robe sit his three puppet scrolls. The doll, Kami, a last resort puppet who explodes at the command of the user, spraying poisoned senbon (needles) in all directions, at the top; The defender, Shiru, imbued with Juro’s earth chakra through seals placed within the puppet, in the center; and the quick, Haya, whose arms are swords and whose belly is filled with poisoned senbon which he can fire from his mouth, at the bottom. At his hip rests a pouch containing 20 kunai.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: Ningya

Personality Juro is generally rather shy, preferring to keep a safe distance both in personal affairs as in battle. He is still young, born in a time of peace and so still maintains his innocence, though he is generally wary in trusting strangers; no doubt part of the reason for his shyness. Juro is neither kind nor cruel, but rather apathetic towards most things apart from becoming a great Shinobi who protects the Leaf. He often has a bored look in his eyes, though this can be attributed more to his apathetic nature than outright boredom. The only times his eyes widen and shine, the only times he smiles, is when he is training with his puppets.

Motivation Juro’s motivation for wanting to become a Shinobi is due to the sense of loyalty to his clan and want to protect the world from falling under the control of another tyrant. He knows he is far from being strong enough to truly protect his home from such things, but becoming a Shinobi and following in his father’s and ancestor’s footsteps is the only thing which denies his apathy. He does not wish to be Hokage, nor does he particularly seek recognition as he enjoys keeping to himself, but one day he is hoping to join the Anbu when he becomes a Jonin.

    History

Juro is still young and has nothing of note in his history. He was born to his Isamu and Mai Ningya in Konohagakure as part of a clan of puppeteers. He has been brought up being taught by his parents, and to a lesser extent other members of his clan, in the ways of puppet creation and mastery. He attended the Academy for 7 years and graduated as an average student. Juro shows an aptitude for fine chakra control, presumably due to his lineage, which also granted him the Chakra Nature: Earth. His defender puppet, Shiru, is imbued with his earth Chakra allowing for greater protection.

The Ningya Clan

---

Clan Head Daisuke Ningya

The Ningya Clan – A clan of Puppeteers. Currently of the Land of Fire and loyal to Konohagakure.

Background

Origins As the world was consumed under the Daimyo’s rule Sunagakure held fast against the storm. Eventually, though, even the greatest of Shinobi could not protect the nation from the immense, inhuman power of the Daimyo. Katsuo Ningya was a puppet master of the Sand who was lucky enough to escape the annihilation of Sunagakure from the Ten Tails Beast Bomb. He knew if he were to stay within the Sand he would likely be killed for being a Shinobi.

Some time ago word had reached Sunagakure of a forming resistance based in other villages, but specifically, Katsuo sought to make way towards the leaf: the Daimyo’s residence. The journey would have normally taken a mere 3 days, however, he could not take the main roads for fear of being discovered by the Daimyo Loyalists. Katsuo was able to hide his Chakra within his own puppets as he traveled, avoiding the watchful eye of the loyalists who sought unknown Chakra signals. Later, when the Land of Sand formed its own rebellion subsequent to its fall, Katsuo had the option to return but instead chose to stay in the leaf to be with Hikaru and his new comrades.

Two weeks since he departed, bloody and wounded from the lands of Sand, Katsuo arrived in the village he had been told was a hub for a still forming resistance against the Daimyo which destroyed his home, his family, and all those he held dear. It was here within the heart of the land of fire that the refugee Sand Shinobi found solace and a new home among comrades, fellow Shinobi, who sought to destroy the same tyrant as Katsuo himself strove to destroy. It was some time later he met Hikaru Mori, a civilian of the Leaf, to whom he would marry and birth him three children. Over the next century the clan would continue to grow as each subsequent generation had children of their own. Katsuo’s practice of puppeteering was passed down to each generation throughout the trials of the Daimyo, in secrecy while working with the rebels the clan’s skills continued to form throughout the age of tyranny until it was at last quelled.

Major Event The Ningya bloodline was all but destroyed with the fall of Sunagakure. Katsuo became the only living heir of the family of puppeteers and chose to flee to the leaf to escape the loss he suffered in his homeland. While in the Land of Fire he worked with the rebellion to destroy the Daimyo, not only for what he had lost, but for what his children would inherit. He would not get to see this wish fulfilled, but he and his descendants fought with the leaf through the century of Daimyo control and the events of the purge, eventually becoming accepted as Leaf Shinobi, and if not for their unique puppetmaster jutsu, the clan very well may have forgotten their original homeland all together.

Abilities

General Puppet manipulation through Chakra strings.

Sanza

KaoriYamanaka_zps2fc856e7.jpg

Name: Yamanaka Sanza

Nickname(s): Ginger

Gender: Female

Age: 14

Height: 4'11"

Weight: 97 lbs.

Hair Color: Reddish orange

Eye Color: Blue

Yamanaka Sanza is what many would call a late bloomer. She stands much shorter than those her age and even appears to be younger than she truly is. Her thin frame is accented by the red mane atop her head which easily reaches past her buttocks. She normally wears a dark purple, sleeveless dress with yellow highlights, as well as sleeves from elbow to wrist in a matching color scheme. Her forehead protector is worn as a belt and she wears standard ninja boots. On her lower back, she wears a large pouch.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure no Sato

    Clan: Yamanaka

    Personality

Sanza is a very driven individual. She is goal oriented, always moving forward in an attempt to complete a goal of some sort. She hates being in a limbo state, such as waiting to be assigned to a jounin sensei, as it feels like wasted time. During limbo, she usually trains very hard, though she doesn’t particularly like training. In order to train, she sets a goal and does whatever it takes to achieve said goal. She doesn’t understand people who are content with themselves or things as they are, like her parents. Due to her intelligence, Sanza has developed a superiority complex in which she often believes herself to be better than her peers. This often exhibits itself by bossing others around and taking a leadership role despite not specifically being placed into such a position.

    Motivation

Sanza wants to bring the Yamanaka clan back to its former glory and and remove the schism that has formed. She is unsure of how to do this, but believes that she must become learn the clan’s Hiden and become strong in her clan's techniques. In this way, she believes that she can bridge the gap that has formed.

    History

During the Daimyo's rule, many members of the Yamanaka clan gave up their Hiden in order to survive. There were others that maintained their skills and passed them on to the generations that followed. Understandably, animosity developed between those that knew the clan’s Hiden and those that had opted for survival. After the overthrow of the Daimyo, the Yamanaka schism became more pronounced as the Hiden clan members were now able to perform their skills out in the open. While the two sides still consider themselves a single clan, the two groups hardly interact having taken up residence on opposite sides of the clan compound.

Sanza Yamanaka’s family abandoned their Hiden all those years ago. Despite that, Sanza was mesmerized by the works of the shinobi. The tales she heard from the Fifth Shinobi War amazed and inspired her. When she was old enough, she wanted to join the Academy. Of course, her parents were furious and tried to convince her to take up some other line of work. For nearly two years, they managed to keep Sanza from enrolling in the Academy. In truth, she spent those two years visiting the other side of the Yamanaka compound. She asked for a teacher and pleaded with them to teach her the clan’s Hiden. Every day she visited and every day she was denied an audience with the clan’s teachers.

When they refused to teach her, Sanza could have gotten upset and gone home. Instead, she went and enrolled in the Academy. She was determined to become a shinobi, whether it was with her clan’s techniques or without them. Subconsciously, she hoped that if she proved herself a capable kunoichi, someone would be willing to teach her the Hiden her ancestors had given up. In school, she always did well academically, proving capable of understanding the theories and concepts being taught. Her natural talent with chakra control allowed her to score top marks in her ninjutsu classes, conquering many of the more difficult Academy level jutsu.

Now that she’s graduated from the Academy, she plans to return to the Hiden Yamanaka and display her strength and hopefully find someone to teach her. Even if they refuse, she’ll continue training and developing her skills in hopes of someday convincing them that she was worthy.

Name: Shiori Nadeshiko

Nicknames: The Red Demon, The Third Coming of the Demon

Gender: Female

Age: 28

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 112lb

Hair Color: Red

Eye Color: Green

Like the Fifth Mizukage, Shiori is noted as one of the most beautiful Kunoichi alive. Her bright green eyes and vibrant red hair paired with her fair skin make her a brightly-colored and glowing individual. Despite her absolute lack of morals and cold nature, she outwardly appears warm, confident and trustworthy. She sports a gentle smile and a type of regal. Often wearing just white and green robes or her Mizukage outfit, Shiori doesn't appear to be a shinobi whatsoever. Aside from a small pouch and a single scroll containing Kiba, even in combat situations, she has very little. In a split second, however, she can make her regal composure into a pure condescending stature and her bright green eyes can cut into an individual. She is also notably short, which can add to her soft appearance. She is rarely seen as intimidating and in fact is known for openly flirting during the yearly Kage Summit where they discuss current issues, often abusing her appearance much to the chagrin (or delight) of others.

    Nadeshiko Village

Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist

    Clan:

    H?zuki Clan

    Personality

Shiori is cold, cruel and calculating. She has few inhibitions due to her inherent lack of morals, near inability to develop real relationships and her value on power alone. Shiori will take whatever she wants with a calm smile; she will do whatever she pleases, and do it gracefully. Despite those notions, however, Shiori is strictly a virgin with no romantic interests or indulgences. Most of the few rules she abides by are the traditions of the Nadeshiko Village, her original home and matriarchal root. Shiori refuses to marry or even consider a man that cannot defeat her in combat, and no one has ever successfully defeated her. She also has a myriad of other rules she does abide by, such as not interfering with a fight between two swordsman (especially if one of them is trying to claim the blade of another). She is a firm believer in the "Way of the Waves" - a turn of phrase that developed during the Purge that refers to the lawless lack of mercy and honor within the Land of Water. The only thing she has ever failed to achieve is the use of Earth Release, like her father; it bothers her significantly that she has surprised her parents in Water Lightning Release, but still cannot match her father in simple Earth Release techniques.

    Motivation

Shiori is motivated primarily by instinct. She seeks out and seizes power because she wants it. When she watched her brother die in such a gruesome death at the same time she made her first kill in true combat, something clicked inside her that unlocked this insatiable lust for power. She has been nicknamed the Red Demon and the Third Coming of the Demon because of her lack of morals in her pursuit for anything she wants.

    History

Shiori is the prodigy and progeny of the H?zuki Clan, but her entire uprising and existence is owed to the Nadeshiko Village. Just after the Fifth Great Shinobi War, the Nadeshiko Village took up their tradition of kunoichi again. They had been allowed to preserve their culture through another means; having their women, now desired due to their impressive intellect and immense beauty, marrying the rich traders and artisans of the time, then bringing them to the village. In turn, the Nadeshiko Village became a very wealthy Village during the Era of the Daimy?. With the shinobi way returning to the world, the Nadeshiko Village was capable of creating its powerful kunoichi once again.

Shiori's mother, Ameshuri, was one of the first generation of kunoichi produced by the Nadeshiko Village. She was a Seal Hunter during the Purge, utilizing powerful Lightning and Water jutsu to eliminate her targets from a range. Additionally, she was highly-capable with jutsu, using her lighting-based Chakra Flow to cut through nearly anything, including the appendages and constructs of Seal Users. It was just two years into the Purge that Ameshuri met Shiori's father, Zantetsu H?zuki, the wielder of the Hiramekarai and a member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. Ameshuri was becoming known as the 'Lightning Blade of the Mist' and Zentetsu took this as a very serious transgression against the swordsman as he felt only the wielder of Kiba should be known as such a name. The two dueled, primarily with their kenjutsu, and Zantetsu ultimately won. As a member of the H?zuki Clan, Zantetsu was highly aware of his weakness to electricity and Lightning-based ninjutsu. He used his Earth Release alongside an Unsealing Jutsu to summon and manipulate Lightning Rods to redirect Ameshuri's jutsu, and without it, he simply proved to be the better swordsman.

Before Zantetsu would kill Ameshuri, she explained to him the traditions of the Nadeshiko and told him that if he let her live, she would be his to marry. Now, Zantetsu was a powerful shinobi and fantastic swordsman, but it was no secret that the Nadeshiko kunoichi were beautiful and Zantetsu might have had a thing for red-heads. Half of their fight, also, might have involved Zantetsu taunting Ameshuri flirtatiously. The world will never know. Needless to say, Zantetsu spared Ameshuri and retreated back to the Nadeshiko village where they would produce three children: Zangetsu H?zuki, Shiori Nadeshiko and Zanza Nadeshiko. While all three siblings went on to become shinobi, Shiori proved to be nothing short of a prodigy and excelled past her brother and sister as well as her father before she turned twenty.

Shiori was trained alongside her siblings by her parents. Zantetsu rarely visited the Nadeshiko Village, but when he did, he generally was a doting father more than a shinobi assassin. The fact was that at the time, the Purge was slowly coming to an end and the reality of the Land of Water was sinking in; the entire region was succumbing to crime. Theft, local gangs were beginning to spring up, drug trade and even in Eastern parts of the Land, human trafficking. The Water Daimy? had even been corrupt by the riches pooring in, resulting in the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist becoming a rogue gang that slowly dissolved. The Nadeshiko Village had enough money and powerful shinobi to avoid this fate, so when Zantetsu returned home, he did so with loving arms. He may have been a killer to the rest of the world, but inside the village, he loved his wife and daughters, and tried to teach his son his ways without them being too harsh.

This came crashing down around the time Shiori turned eight. Just a year earlier, she graduated the kunoichi academy of the Nadeshiko Village and when her mother began teaching her about elemental releases, she had already began using water to create Water Clones. Not only that, Shiori was also capable of dueling her brother in kenjutsu whom was a year and a half her senior. When her father returned, she didn't want him to just be her father anymore; she wanted him to be her mentor. He was, of course, the stronger shinobi. In fact, her mother hadn't been a true kunoichi in a decade. Her father rejected this notion at first, but when Shiori came at him with her sword and he dodged with the Hydrification Technique, she immediately used the same technique by visual analysis alone. With that alone as proof of her potential, Zantetsu reluctantly agreed to train her - but not just then. Zantetsu returned to his remaining brothers of the Swordsman and gave them his sword to pass down, claiming it was time for him to train his generation and that he would re-earn it when he returned.

This ushered in a whole new era for Shiori. Her father returned to teach her the intricacies of the Hydrification Technique and even more techniques he picked up in his travels. By age ten, she became a Chuunin in the same exams as her brother. Zantetsu trained both of them, claiming Zanza was still too young. When both of them had learned the Hydrification Technique as well as were capable with ninjutsu and their bladework, Zantetsu said he would teach them the only thing more important than techniques: the Way of the Waves. The phrase had come to refer to the dangerous lifestyle of the Land of Water. He taught them to show no mercy, he continuously showed them all of the underhanded tactics and techniques he had seen and even used. He taught them a thousand ways to die, a thousand ways to survive and a million ways to kill. Zangetsu fell far behind his sister in this time. While he still only had one element and was a significantly lesser swordsman, she had already picked up Wind and Lightning and become a Jounin-level ninja. While her brother was still practicing basics and even training Zanza, Shiori was dueling her father for training and developing various new techniques.

After five years inside the Nadeshiko Village, Zantetsu decided his children were ready to enter the Land of Water. It took him little time to find the remaining swordsman, still the same four that remained five years ago, although this time, there was a fifth wielding the Hiramekarai. Zantetsu challenged him for the sword, they fought, and Zantetsu won it over, then killed the former holder. This was the first time Shiori or Zangetsu had ever seen anyone be killed. Both were excited; both felt their shinobi instincts kick in. Immediately, Shiori proclaimed she wanted a challenge. Before her father could even attempt to decline her, Kojir?, the wielder of the Kiba, took her up on her declaration. This point, there was very little that could be done; once a swordsman challenged one of the Seven for a blade, none of the others were supposed to interfere. Zantetsu, now a member again, was bound to follow this.

To his surprise, however, his daughter was even more powerful in real combat than she was in training. The sights. The smells. The feeling. The blood from the former holder of the Hiramekarai, the mist stained with the stench of the spilled blood, the wind that blew through the trees to make an eerie howl and her life on the line. This is what Shiori wanted; this is the life she was destined to live. The wielder of Kiba was arrogant, believing that Shiori would use her Hydrification Technique like her father and that the Kiba would take advantage of it. What he didn't expect was her to meet him blow-for-blow with her swords being imbued with Lightning Chakra, like her mother's former techniques, and even to follow up with powerful Water Release jutsu as projectiles. Even when he gained the advantage with his own jutsu or surprise attacks, she blocked them with walls of solid Earth - utilizing her three elemental releases in combat effectively at just sixteen. Her chakra control, reserves and capability all proved too much for the swordsman and he fell to her. Her first kill made her member of the Seven Ninja Swordsman of the Mist, and debuted her as a notable shinobi.

Her brother, inspired by both his father and sister, believed he could do the same. He made the same proclamation, but instead of anyone taking up the offer, his brother and sister both tried to dissuade him. He argued with them; in part, he was jealous of his younger sister and in part, he wanted to make his father proud. Before he could rescind his proclamation, Jinimaru, the wielder of the Nuibari, said he would duel him. While Zangetsu prepared for his duel, his father had already known that he would lose his son here, and he asked Jinimaru for mercy - one Swordsman to another. Jinimaru replied simply, "there is no mercy in the waves." Her brother stood absolutely no chance. Jinimaru created a dense Mist, blinding him, then used Body Flickers - even on a Jounin-level - to stitch Zangetsu into the air. When he released the mist, Zangetsu was strung up in the air by wire with Jinimaru upsidedown with a kunai to his throat. Zangetsu sobbed, desiring to go back to his village; Zantetsu let a single tear roll down his cheek, knowing Jinimaru wouldn't allow it; and, Shiori learned an important lesson. As the blood of her brother ran down his neck, she learned there was no mercy in the waves.

From that point on, Shiori continued to master her style. She spent the next few years learning from the other Swordsman, and ultimately manifested her own Kekkei Genkai: Storm Release. She perfected the Hydrification Technique in ways her father couldn't, and by the time she was twenty, she had dueled each of the other Swordsman and won. After that, she went on to reassemble the entire Seven Ninja Swordsman of the Mist by reclaiming the Samehada and Kubikirib?ch? which had both been lost. Progressive as ever, she even had a plan after that: assassinate the Water Daimy? and replace him with her own candidate. Region by region of the Land of Water, Shiori and the Swordsman began to clear out and consolidate the crime, then bind them all together was one organization called the Crimson Tides - a name she chose in reference to her brother. When she spoke before any new gang or lord within the Land of Water, she gave them the same speech with the same reference to the blood that ran down her brother's neck and into his chest. The Crimson Tide flows.

With her manipulation and influence, assassinating the Mizukage was relatively simple. With the Water Daimy? acting as her puppet, her placement as Mizukage was assured. While the Land of Water was significantly safer, less chaotic and now under the authority of a single person, it is still riddled with crime, murder and corruption. Brothels, drugs, weapons and all variations of other services can be found in the Land of Water, making it rich and luxurious while also an underbelly. The entire country has a portion of it dedicated to those who visit with natural scenes and beauteous sites such as lakes and waterfalls in resorts while the rest of the country is a shinobi-regulated crime syndicate. While Shiori doesn't have a direct hand in many of the most heinous activities within the Land, she knows about them and they were effectively made a possibility by her consolidating the authority and crime in the Land of Water.

Sora Hy?ga

Ninja-1-1.jpg

Name: Sora Hy?ga

Nickname(s):

Gender: Male

Age: 12

Height: 5'6''

Weight: 120lbs

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: White

Sora is lean built, like most Genin his age. It isn't obvious from his appearance, but his body is extremely tough from years of physical punishment, done by himself. His body is built on the idea of being quick and striking decisively.

The clothes he normally wears are those in the picture. However, those are his everyday clothes, the clothes he wears for missions and stuff. When he is training, he wears a much simpler uniform, one that allows him to take more of a beating.

His hair normally covers the seal that is placed on his forehead and he's recently taken to using his forehead protector to hide the seal. Being part of the Branch family isn't a big shame for him, but keeping the seal hidden keeps people from asking a lot of questions.

Normally, he carries his kunai and other equipment in a pouch on his waist.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: Hy?ga: Branch Family

    Personality

While he is a good and kind person, Sora is stubborn when it comes to training, even to the point of physically harming and exhausting himself. He likes to train and spar for fun, but he'd prefer not to fight to the death with someone. He's always seen about the village, helping someone do something, even if it seems small.

He is also very loyal, and willing to fight for those he cares about, even if it means harming others. It is why he trains.

    Motivation

Sora's ultimate goal is to bring the Gentle Fist into a new era, combining aspects of both combat and meditation. Another goal he has is to create a way to help people, whether or not they can pay for that help.

    History

When Sora was born, many thought he wouldn't survive the week. He was frail and didn't cry much. However, as he got older, he began to show a vigor for training, or at least copying the movements of those he was around. When he was six, he was found passed out, his hands bloodied from training. Of course he was reprimanded for pushing himself to far, though this didn't seem to actually deter him. While he enjoyed going to the academy, he enjoyed training even more.

Ever since he was allowed to leave the house, Sora always enjoyed helping people. It originally started with him helping people carry groceries. He never did it for money or any particular reason, he just enjoyed going out and doing something nice.

Even at the Academy, he spent his free time either training or helping others. Those he trained with were surprised at how much he changed when he trained. It was like he'd become a completely different person.

When he was eight, he gained the use of his Byakugan, and nearly went blind because of his way of training. He constantly used it to make it stronger, which put great strain on his eyes. He ended up having to wear a blindfold for a week. Afterwards, he decided to cut back on using the Byakugan too often, specifically because if he over used it, he wouldn't be able to train normally.

Before his graduation, he found that despite his training, he was still very far outclassed by others. This only made him want to try harder to become a good Shinobi.

Tsukiashi (Ashi) Inuzuka

OC_Inuzuka-12_zpsazyd9kpc.jpg

Name: Tsukiashi Inuzuka

Nickname(s): Ashi (Preferred)

Gender: Female

Age: 12

Height: 4'8

Weight: 71 lbs

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Hazel

Tsukiashi is a rather short and thin girl with long brown hair reaching down past the center of her back. It's not uncommon for many to look at her as being rather frail in comparison even to her younger half brothers. Her eyes are hazel with her cheeks barring the mark of the Inuzuka clan. Her canine teeth are larger and sharper then normal as part of having being a cursed child. She wears relatively form fitting outfit, using a zip up vest for warm, preferring sleeveless attire. Most of her equipment is located on her belt, with spare shuriken stashed on her lower leg for easier access while fighting in her more feral stance.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagkure

    Clan: Inuzuka

    Personality

Tsukiashi is a rather spontaneous and brash girl. She tends to approach problems with a 'act first, figure out what to do later' mentality. Even after she realizes she makes a mistake, she can be stubborn in dropping it, not liking the notion of giving up even if it might lead to further embarrassment. Many associate her as being a rather 'ditzy' girl, although overall she is of an average intelligence. She can be playful around others coming off very light hearted or find ways to be competitive with even simple tasks.

Ashi has a deep longing to fit in. She will often shrug off having company in jest in order to hide the fact she enjoys having others around. She can be a bit distrustful of people, feeling as if she isn't wanted even when someone becomes close to her. The fear of rejection often makes it hard for her to speak more personally about herself, often focusing her attention on her clan or the village as a whole.

    Motivation

Ashi has a strong believe that by proving herself to be a talented shinobi she will be able to find a place within the leaf and particularly her clan. She believes that being able to show she can handle herself and that she is strong any bit of uneasy she feels between herself and clan members will cease to exist.

    History

Ashi is the daughter of Teiru and Hotaru Inuzuka. She knew little of her father Teiru, his very existance kept silent by her mother or other members of the Clan who would try and sway her from talking about it. Her mother married Kamimasu, another member of the Clan when she was three. Her mother had two boys,Toboe and Namemasu. Kamimasu sought to treat Tsukiashi as his own daughter, something that even at a young age she rebelled in some part from. She never felt 'right' leaving a bit of a rift between them.

Within her clan she found herself feeling distant from others. While she was offered help and was treated kindly, she couldn't help but feel some detachment with them. This feeling only grew larger when attempting to find a Ninken for herself, she was completely rejected by all the puppies. Even the adult ninken would show a sense of uneasy around her. Her adopted father Kamimasu still sought to teach her the clan techniques, hoping to encourage her and not upset the young Ashi.

Within the Academy her desire to connect with others often lead to her causing some trouble. She would end up trying to show off in order to 'fit in' often with detrimental effects. She came off as a bit of a ditzy to most people, although in the academy she scored about average on her grades, primarily having issue in terms of her occasional disruptions her impatience could lead to.

Completing the Academy lead to a great deal of excitement for Ashi. She sees her chance now being a Genin to prove herself and to grab the attention and full acceptance of members of her clan and those around her.

Gender: Male

Age: 27

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 200lb

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Yellow

Cale is a lean five foot nine, his body having been trained from a very young age. His hair is wild and unkempt give the fact that he's never had a decent haircut. Placed on his head is a circlet, symbolizing his loyalty to those who raised him. His clothes are just a mixture of whatever could be found for him as he grew older. His weapon is a single staff, built by his own hands out of a special tree that absorbs natural chakra, the tips embossed with bronze for a stronger impact.

Underneath his clothes, his body is covered with very small, minor scars caused by his training.

The most striking feature of his body is the brown, furry tail that extends out from his tailbone, caused by exposure to high levels of Natural Energy.

  • Rank: Jonin

Affiliation: Mount Huaguo as well as Konohagkure

    Clan: N/A

    Personality

Wild and tempered, he loves to do as he wishes. From a very young age, he was raised with the ideal that freedom was best. Do what you want, when you want. Living with Monkey's he has also picked up many of their traits, especially using his feet and tail to do many things. He's also picked up their penchant for playing tricks on others.

He loves to test his strength against others, and not just in combat either. Any form of physical feat will make him happy.

In a true fight however, he becomes a very serious person and will never use poor tricks to defeat someone.

    Motivation

His major motivation is the desire to see the world, to explore and meet many people, to test his strength against strong opponents. Most of all, he just wants to live his life as he see's fit. He also has an objective, one that isn't directly his desire. His objective is to spread his Martial Art throughout the world, to teach those both young and old the way of the Monkey.

    History

Sarutobi Hiruzen, the Third Hokage and third man to earn the title God of Shinobi, was the last human to interact with the monkeys of Mount Huaguo. The exact location of the mountain is unknown. Very few, including the monkeys that live there, know how to get to the mountain from the realms of man. Myth says that it is so far to the West that even the Great White Tiger cannot see it. Nevertheless, this mountain is home to a culture of powerful, sapient monkeys, most notably their King and former companion of the Third Hokage, Enma.

While the monkeys had no connection with the realms of man and Hiruzen was the one that somehow found them, Enma believed that it was important for his people, the monkeys, to interact with shinobi; he had grown in power greatly in his time training with Hiruzen, and he believed his people could as well. So, he taught his most trusted brothers how to leave and return to Mount Huaguo and told them to scour the world for children without family or homes, claiming he would give them one and teach them there ways. While many of his brothers kidnapped young children and took them into the mountains, others actually saved orphans and lives. It had been well over a century since Enma had fought alongside Hiruzen and presently another war broke out: the Fifth Great Shinobi War. This, unfortunately, left the world with many children without homes or parents.

Mount Huaguo is not just mystic for its reclusive nature. It teems with natural energy that permeates all life around it. Enma knew this and he knew there would be consequences to bringing in those not accustomed to the energy. However, he hoped that children would adapt instead of turning to stone. In some way, he was right. Being influenced by the natural chakra of the monkeys and Mount Huaguo, the children taken there often mutated into monkeys - some even losing their sentience. While this wasn't necessarily a problem, it did cause Enma to only ever recruit one generation of human children.

Hundreds of human children became monkeys. Cale was part of that generation, but he did not turn into a monkey. At least, not completely.

Cale was too young to remember much of his parents or even which land he hailed from. Instead, he embraced his new life among the monkeys. He also trained with them, learning their meditation, fighting styles and culture. He made many friends, many whom turned into monkeys, few who didn't. Among his friends was another of the children that hadn't turned into a monkey. Inpu Ko, a child of the same age as Cale, trained with him. They sparred together, dined together and both became highly proficient in the different Fists that Monkey Style included. When they both grew a tale, they both were worried. However, they made the resolution to accept their fate together - as friends.

Except, Cale and his mutations only went as far as tufts of fur, a more ape-like body structure and the tail. Inpu Ko, however, became a sapient monkey. Still, the two remained friends. Many others faced the same fate as Inpu Ko as well. The number of humans in Mount Huaguo started in the hundreds, then dwindled to just a hundred, then into the tens and eventually only seven remained. Cale notably was the most human among them, and that often led others to believe he was weaker. Being the most human in a culture of monkeys wasn't always enjoyable, but alongside his dear friend Inpu Ko, Cale persevered.

Ultimately, Enma decided that each of the seven had mastered the Three Principle Fists of the Monkey and that they could go venture into the world. He recalled the strength of Hiruzen and while none of them neared him, he knew they would survive. Each signed a contract with a monkey they trusted should they ever need assistance or to return. Cale obviously signed his with Inpu Ko. Enma sent each of the seven into the different lands to test them: the Land of Water, Wind, Fire, Earth, Lightning and Iron and one monkey to explore the world in between. In their graduation ceremony, they were blessed under the great tree atop the waterfall: Salieres, whose wood and bark grew teemed with natural energy for it had been saturated in it. Cale, with the permission of Enma, took a branch from this tree and carved it with his own hands, then adorned it with brass tips. This was his final endeavor before leaving.

Cale was sent to the Land of Fire, and there, he fought many shinobi. He defeated all those that challenge him, however, he killed no one. As a matter of fact, he often assisted in cleaning their wounds, stitching them up and taking them to safety. Cale explained that he only wanted to test his strength and fight, and the shinobi of Konohagakure, at the discretion of Hitori, accepted this. The Monkey Man had plenty of opportunities to kill many shinobi, but didn't. Cale defeated Chuunin, then Jounin and eventually members of the ANBU. He demanded to fight the strongest shinobi there; he thought this to be Hitori. In fact, there was another.

Shin Uzumaki, wielding the Samehada and bearing a unique purple Sharingan, claimed to be the strongest shinobi alive, having just defeated the Four-Tailed Beast of Iwagakure single-handedly in an incident that required reminded the village that they were in no shape for war. Shin said that if Cale could defeat him, he would earn the right to challenge the Hokage. Cale eagerly accepted and they fought. The battle was close, but once Shin tossed aside the Samehada and used his Black-Flame Chains to impede Inpu Ko and outmaneuver Cale using his Sharingan to predict his feints, movements and fighting style, the battle became completely one-sided. Shin Uzumaki won, and Cale had to admit defeat. Still, Shin helped the Monkey Man up and offered him a place in the village. Cale, however, had other plans. He needed more power. He needed to be stronger. He thanked the village, but took his leave with Inpu Ko.

It was sobering to see the difference in power between himself and the man that claimed to be the strongest shinobi alive. He told Enma of this, and the Monkey King - knowing the others had in some ways succeeded, some ways failed and two even died - decided to teach one last thing to Cale. The Forbidden Fist. Behind the waterfall that saturated the great tree he carved his staff from was a pool of golden water, imbued with dense natural chakra. Enma said that this would force Cale to his greatest potential, but Enma would have to train him else he would turn completely into a monkey and lose himself.

For five years, Enma trained Cale to use the Forbidden Fist as well as to control the natural energy after being dipped into the pool, then absorb any excess if need be. This opened up his tenketsu, his chakra pathways, to natural chakra and he eventually learned to absorb it on his own without it being forced into him. After five years and mastering the Forbidden Fist, Cale became the first Monkey Sage. Once Cale could use this form of his own free will and absorb natural energy on his own, even outside of Mount Huaguo, Enma told him there was nothing more for him to learn. He was the first true Monkey Sage, and from here on, he would have to forge his own path.

Cale spent weeks after that day training on his own, learning to use the form granted to him by Forbidden Fist. He developed new techniques with it, learned how long he could maintain it and learned to fight however he wanted with it. The Forbidden Fist was a powerful style, true, but it existed to teach him to use the natural chakra. He wasn't for sure how to train with this new ability, but one thing was for certain: he would challenge Shin Uzumaki again.

It was time for round two.

After arriving in Konoha, Cale met Shin and was promptly defeated, despite his stubbornness to give up. After the battle, Cale was given a proposition to become a teacher to three children of Konoha.

Unfortunately, before he could begin teaching, a tragedy struck Konoha, causing one of his students to be replaced with another.

After the ceremony, in which the Hokage raised the spirits of the village, Cale found himself annoyed at not having been able to fight strong opponents. In his annoyance, he skipped the formalities with his students, absconding with them to the training grounds where he would properly train them.

Taura Miyamae

White_Mist_by_ramy.jpg

Name: Taura Miyamae

Nickname(s): Taura-chan, Miyamae, Long hair.

Gender: Female

Age: 12

Height: 5'0"

Weight: 79 Ilbs

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Blue

Taura has worn her hair pulled back into a braid -as is the Miyamae custom for both men and women- since she entered the academy, and takes great pride in it. She fastens it with a pair of gold bands that she was given by her mother. A thin and otherwise unassuming girl, Taura nonetheless is tougher than she appears. With three elder brothers and one younger, she has become both physically and mentally robust. Taura often wears a pale blue, thigh length hanten jacket paired with a matching hakama, fastened with a pink sash. These garments mask her small physique, although the other girls often claim that they're too masculine for her.

  • Rank: Gennin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: Miyamae

    Personality

Taura often tries to remain calm, mature and logical; and is usually successful in this. Typically she'll smile wryly rather than laugh, and will often think about what she says for some time before she speaks. This lends her a dour image which is largely accurate. However when the mask slips Taura can be surprisingly immature and spontaneous, although she usually regrets this later. Sarcasm is the extent of Taura's wit, and she relies upon it often. She rarely intends it to be malicious, but this often leads her fellows to see her as patronizing and irreverent. She has always been a rather bookish girl, and her ambition to become a Shinobi has only enhanced this. As such she is widely read in shinobi theory, strategy and techniques. While she still needs practice to put this knowledge to the test, she is none the less a valuable font of information for her team and her new sensei.

    Motivation

Taura is motivated by a sense of reluctant duty. As the heir to the Miyamae clan she will eventually be required to set aside her career as a ninja and turn devote her attentions to clan-management. Until that day, she has been instructed to hone her skills in service to the village, to befriend the upcoming generation so that they when they assume authority within the Leaf Taura will be well-connected. Privately, Taura is motivated to escape this fate, and hopes to do so by becoming so invaluable to the Village that they cannot afford for her to set aside her headband and be turned to menial administration.

    History

From a young age Taura has been groomed to assume leadership over the Miyamae clan. The Miyamae were once a small clan, originating from one of the minor nations before the Fifth Shinobi War. However, they fled their homes during the war and came to live on the outskirts of the Leaf Village, where they have stayed ever since; bolstering their ranks by adopting an eclectic mix of displaced refugees and runaways who have come seeking sanctuary. This past has meant that Taura has always been more worldly than other children, with members of her clan hailing from all across the continent. Taura herself has traveled frequently to the Miyamae embassies dotted throughout the land, and therefore in her younger years saw the sands and waves that other Leaf Children could only imagine.

When she joined the Academy and received her clan braid, the travelling had to stop. Taura now had responsibilities to the Village that she had to uphold, and so spent less time with the Clan head and more among her peers. She enjoyed her academy years immensely; relishing the opportunity to spent time with her peers and the chance to escape from the relentless pressure at home. She worked hard, and solely for personal satisfaction rather than out of obligation. The years rolled by quickly, with the highs and lows that were to be expected. Now Taura's time at the academy has ended, the eyes of her clan have alighted upon her once more and the weight of responsibility has returned to rest on her shoulders.

White Death

36225-621132_hatake_sakumo_by_dayamon_super_super.jpg

Name: Hatake Suidemaru

Nickname(s): White Death, Sui

Gender: Male

Age: 49

Height: 5'9"

Weight: 146lb

Hair Color: Grey/white

Eye Color: Brown

Suidemaru wears the simple attire of most J?nin, including the flak jacket and numerous pouches. His pouches, however, are padded and significantly smaller than normal. This is to avoid them making any sound whatsoever when moving. In terms of equipment and appearance, Suidemaru could easily be mistaken for any other shinobi int he village. True to the Hatake Clan, however, he has light grey hair that is admittedly fading to white and dark eyes with slight circular features beneath them. While it's difficult to notice, he also wears the ANBU mark on his tongue. Despite his simple appearance, most in the village - including the youth - know exactly who he is. Due to the nature of his genjutsu and his notoriety during the Purge, he is somewhat seen as a "boogeyman" of sorts. It is claimed that he has the highest kill count from the Purge, having ruthlessly killed the most Cursed Seal Users in addition to those that would harbor them. Rumors circulate that he has slaughtered entire buildings full of people using Night Terror in a single swoop just to kill a single Cursed Seal target. The exact truth of these rumors is uncertain, but he earned his moniker the White Death because of the sheer amount of bodies he left in his wake. Scariest of all? Most of the time, no one would even know he was there.

  • Rank:

    J?nin, ANBU

    Affiliation:

    Konohagakure

    Clan:

    Hatake

    Personality

Suidemaru is a fairly relaxed individual. He often prefers to sit back and observe over rushing right in and can be considered analytical. In his youth, he was quite bashful and incredibly shy towards women, although that trait has phased out over time. Suidemaru has never been an individual to enjoy the spotlight or praise; he prefers to work from the darkness and have a simple acknowledgement of a mission accomplished. He is a kind soul at heart, but outwardly he creates an intimidating and cold presence that only enforces the name given to him during the Purge. While he isn't necessarily proud of being called "The White Death", he is proud to have brought some light back to the Hatake name. Most of his outward traits and even internal traits trickle down and help define him as a shinobi, so his personality is most-well represented in who he is as a whole.

    Motivation

Suidemaru, like most veteran shinobi, was once young, full of ambition and wanted to be King of the World. His brother, Mamaro Hatake, even once claimed to be a rival with Shin Uzumaki and overshadowed the current Hokage and his brother in combat during the Fifth Great Shinobi War. However, it was his boldness, and his strength, that became his undoing. Mamaro had become known as the Second White Fang and in combat was ferocious. It was during his competition with Shin on the streets of Konoha during the revolution that Mamaro was killed; he was fighting multiple enemies at once, and was outnumbered by even more. From that moment on, Suidemaru gained a hatred for those that bared the Cursed Seal and additionally refused to treat combat like some competition. Unlike his brother, who was headstrong and rushed right into combat, Suidemaru decided to find alternative ways to engage the enemy, to kill them quickly and to do so safely. Ultimately, these techniques earned him his moniker.

    History

Suidemaru is the third child of five from his father, Rekimaru, all of whom descend from Kakashi Hatake. Kakashi, being close to both Naruto and Sasuke, was spared by C13 and used as a trusted consultant by him into his transition into Minato Sarutobi. Kakashi attempted to guide the future tyrant into a better path, but he was too powerfully swayed by the Uchiha blood that ran through him and the dominant personality of Madara. Kakashi was one of the many individuals that sat on his first generation council, and one of the few shinobi allowed to openly live in the new world. Many viewed him as a traitor for this, however, Kakashi and the entire Hatake line used their influence to help others during the entire Era of the Daimy?.

Suidemaru and his older brother, Mamaro, fled to join the rebels at a young age. They met the actual rebels with relatively mixed emotions by the Shimura and the Senju. The Senju Clan had been forcibly removed from the same council that the cousins of the siblings sat on, but ultimately, the Uzumaki Clan vouched for them and showed their long-standing support of the Hatake Clan dating back to Kakashi himself. Kakashi had helped the remaining Uzumaki become the shadows that they were and misled the hunt for the rogue Senju and Shimura. While scrutiny was high, both young boys were accepted into the rebel forces and trained.

Suidemaru was quickly overshadowed by his brother, however. While he was undoubtedly a capable shinobi, Mamaro was strong enough to duel the likes of another prodigy, Shin Uzumaki, head on and even competed with the likes of Hosuka whom was significantly older than him. Mamaro was Second Coming of the White Fang and ultimately was just called White Fang. He proved his capabilities in the revolution in Konoha during the Fifth Great Shinobi War when he was able to eliminate Cursed Seal Users in the streets faster than Hosuka or Hitori and seemed to only be rivaled by older, veteran shinobi and Shin Uzumaki himself. Hosuka and Hitori eventually splintered off to leave Suidemaru and Shin to fight on the streets, as their mission was to eliminate the Minato Fission in the Kage Mansion. Many of the more talented shinobi were also on this task force, making the streets more dangerous.

While Suidemaru was working in groups with other shinobi, Mamaro and Shin were taking on several Cursed Seal users on their own, competing with each other. What both failed to realize was that soon enough, more elite enforcers from the Police Force were coming. To this day, Shin claimed Mamaro would have won their competition, and it's because he would have that he was the first target. The elites bore down on him, and even his prodigal talents could not save him. Shin couldn't, either, as he was forced to retreat back to the main group. The Second Coming of the White Fang was ended before it truly began. Suidemaru had to continue the mission knowing this, but by the end of it, he developed a deep-rooted hatred of those that bore the Cursed Seal and changed his outlook on being a shinobi.

Suidemaru was hailed as a hero, alongside the others that fought in the streets of Konoha that day. His brother, while seen as an incredible shinobi and a hero that stalled the elite enforcers long enough for the others to create a task force, was overshadowed by the sacrifice made by Hosuka. By that time, Suidemaru wasn't bitter about it. Instead, he was more irritated by the enforcers. Some of the Cursed Seal users were gentle police, merely given power to settle fights and protect the village. The enforcers thrived off of it. They were more powerful because they used it. They were drunk on the power it provided. Even though the screening process to receive the mark was thorough, it wasn't perfect, and it created these vicious monsters of human beings. They knew they were running into a death trap, by the time they showed up, they knew that Minato had been defeated. They smelled blood and like frenzied sharks flocked to it despite the ramifications. That corrupted mentality is what cost Suidemaru his brother, and it fostered the hatred he had towards their kind.

Suidemaru was one of the first to volunteer to become a Cursed Seal Hunter during the Purge...

Kazumi Nara

Name: Nara Kazumi

Nickname(s): Kazu-chan

Gender: Female

Age: 12

Height: 5'6

Weight: 132 lbs.

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Dark Purple

Just like a lot of the Nara's, Kazumi has stark black hair, a fairly slim stature and a bored or just uninterested expression on her face that is almost like a default. However, her eyes aren't the normal plain black, if you look closely, their an extremely dark purple. Kazumi is pretty tall for her age, leading her to be a tad bit awkward while talking to her teammates, and she gets mistaken for being much older a lot of the time. The girl carries around her katana on a sword holder on her back and has two pouches on each side of her belt that stores her ninja stars and throwing knives.

  • Rank:

    Clan:

    Nara

    Personality

To strangers, Kazumi seems like a very smug, arrogant and reticent person, and that's exactly how she is on the inside. To her, socializing is a waste of time, especially when you could be doing something way more productive then sitting around and talking about your 'feelings'. On that note, Kazumi seems to have no feelings... Yeah it's weird. The only emotions she expresses are boredom, arrogance and occasionally sincere happiness. The Nara is a very calm person and would never act on impulse, unless someone she cared for is in danger. She's also very independent, and it's to a fault at this point. Teamwork isn't a word in her vocabulary, and it will never be. Kazumi also happens to be very good with words, she might be rude, but she somehow has a way of just dragging people along her string of lies, the fact that she's mighty intelligent helps too. This girl may have a hard shell but she really has a soft core and is actually very protective over the things she likes or loves, and if you ever get the privilege to be one of those people, man, you better not betray her because you'll never get that trust back ever again.

In a nutshell, Kazumi is a very logical person, arrogant, cold and charismatic. She gains people's trust easily but breaks it off very quickly but at the same time, you would hate to see what happens if YOU were the one that breaks it off with HER.

    Motivation

Kazumi's motivation is to prove that she is just as intelligent and capable as the rest of the Nara clan.

    History

Kazumi has lead a rather uneventful life to be honest. She was born to her parents, Kaito and Yoshiko Nara as a sweet baby girl. The female was never really close to them so it never bothered her that they were often gone from home, for business maybe? She was never really sure why. When they were home however, they were busy training their daughter to be a shinobi. They wanted something she could use just in case, besides, the Nara clan had a pretty awesome background when it came to these parts. And that was something that her parents pushed a lot, they would keep telling her about the feats of the Nara clan and how strong they were, almost like they didn't believe in their daughter. Time flew by and she had studied at the academy for 7 years, graduated, and viola. Current day Kazumi is born.

Kidō Uchūsei, the Collapsed Star

6oLbtuG.png

Name: Kidō Uchūsei (軌道 宇宙流星群)

Nickname(s): Collapsed Star

Gender: Female

Age: 12

Height: 163cm

Weight: 54kg

Hair Color: Jetblack w/ blue-ish shimmer

Eye Color: Black

Kidō is of generally average proportions, though her head appears a little larger compared to her otherwise delicate body, thanks to the voluminous head of hair she calls her own. Kidō, like many Uchūsei, has remarkably large eyes, giving her an almost intrusive expression. Her body possesses an athletic appearance, albeit neither particularly toned nor soft. Fit would be an appropriate description. Kidō can be seen wearing traditional clothes quite often, though she prefers a plain black coat when in combat that reaches down to her ankles, with sleeves surpassing her hands just a little. Since the Uchūsei rarely ever utilize weaponry, Kidō's only general tools being carried regularly are kunais and a fan, both of which she hides inside a girthy waist band ending in a large bow at the back.

  • Rank: Genin

    Affiliation: Konohagakure

    Clan: Uchūsei

    Personality

Kidō is a sharp and goal-orientated personality, especially for someone her overall tender age. Her facets can clash though, as she's generally a diligent and curious girl, eager to soak up any and all knowledge in order to become stronger and understand her surroundings better, while her pride can in turn cause her to act dismissive towards even the obviously wiser and/or stronger trying to pass their sapience onto them - occasionally even those within her own family. Frankly, she's an exceptionally prideful person, taking great honor in representing the latest generation of the Uchūsei, but can run into a rut in her thick-headed chase of glory. As such, insults towards her family, or general failure can cause her to become quite enraged, whereas she is usually a calm and composed person.

Kidō loves to act (and be viewed) as more mature than she really is, a trait fittingly symbolized by her peculiar appreciation of incense smoking - Something most of her coeval peers see as slightly odd. Kidō, however, believes it makes her look older, and upholds the tick even though she doesn't particularly enjoys it. Often acting a little reserved, some would class the dinner-plate-eyed ninja as unsocial, though she merely lacks a bit of common sense in terms of interpersonal affairs, as she has been introduced to society outside her clan at a later than healthy age, and as such has to play catch up with norms others have long internalized.

    Motivation

Kidō has learned of many great myths and deeds her family has done over the course of history, ranging from admirably brave to detestable. Kidō herself wishes to be remembered in the vain of her ancestors Tsuki or Gala - Powerful, wise and fair. As the family is a big source of pride to her, Kidō seeks to lead her family to an age of prosperity in the future.

    History

Kidō Uchūsei has been prophesied to achieve great things from a very age on, which probably explains her tendency to be more ambitious than what's beneficial. Born to a proud and well-respected father, Kidō had much to live up to, and, over the years, has often found more of a connection to her grandmother, Khalee, who was an exceptionally skillfull fighter and has lead the family with great wisdom for a long time. Prior to Khalee's more reclusive, shadowy behavior of recent memory, Kidō was often trained by and invited to spend with the clan head, something that has heavily increased her drive to make the Uchūsei proud.

Trained primarly by her grandmother and father, Kidō grew up what some could describe as sheltered, being relatively withdrawn from influences outside their community, which is also the reason for her relatively late entry in the academy. She's been raised with great respect for the stars and the world itself, and as such could be classified as a bit of a superstitious person, though, historically, the Uchūsei's approach to galactic influence is a bit more than horoscopical nonsense.

Background

Overview

The Uchūsei Clan (a portemonnaie word of 宇宙 / Uchū and 流星 / ūsei vaguely meaning "meteor shower through the galaxy") is a branch of an ancient clan dating back to the Warring State. They believe the universe as a whole is a conscious flow of energy, and often have contextually nihilistic views due to their belief that the stars and the galaxy will reign as needed.

Major Event

During the Warring States period, the Honosume Clan (星の娘; Hoshi no musume meaning Daughter of the Stars), alongside the Senju and the Uchiha, were some of the very first clans to roam the lands, though they differed from other coalitions in that they were more removed from conflict, effectively only engaging others when needed and even then mostly on the defense. Their dedication towards their own interests and craft allowed the sizable clan to rise to power as knowledgeable and astronomy-focused shinobi instead of a clan of violence and warriors like most others. Many skilled artisans and craftsmen joined the clan not for its power, but for its stability and wisdom.

Inevitably, Honosume aspired to be competitive with the other clans and vied for the Kekkei Genkai of other bloodlines. They had developed their own multi-faceted Hiden, but never manifested their own bloodline limit. Driven by Kasei Honosume, a former head of the Clan and a powerful, irascible man, their aspirations ultmately manifested in dozens of abductions involving children belonging to a variety of clans. Afterwards, most of them were forced into marriages within the Honosume in an effort to generate offspring that carried their original Kekkei Genkai and individual abilities, yet were still part of the Clan. While resistance was a given on multiple ends and dealt with accordingly, the sheer number of attempts lead to success in acquiring a variety of mixed-breed branches, making the clan grow to such numbers that others, even those of high might like the Uchiha, eventually refused to fight against them, enabling the Honosume even further.

And while the Honsume continue to prosper in aspects of power and numbers, the generations emerging over the years diverged into a plethora of individual branches, consistently eliciting tension within their own ranks. The generally matriarchal clan, growingly disgusted with the methods Kasei used, revolted, resulting in what was essentially a civil war within the clan. While delayed with immense effort of the head and his council, the downfall of the Honosume was inevitable. With a short duration yet a severity of massive scale, the actual conflict of the war lead to the main branch, the "original" Honosume, being wiped out. With no direct leadership nor any form of harmonic opinion of each other, the sub-branches upheld the conflict and dissolved into groups thin enough for other clans to effectively attack them and even eliminate them if they did so desire.

One of the remaining bloodlines that had spawned under the banner of the former astronomer clan was the Uchūsei branch. Not only were they weakened by the massive conflict of their own people, they also had to face the threat of the genuine Uchiha - the clan the Uchūsei relate to through the merciless breeding regiment of the Honosume - hunting them ferociously. As a result of the severely hostile environment, the Uchūsei, now lead by Tsuki Honosume, also called the Moon Presence, migrated to the Land of Wind, where the desolate environment ironically provided higher safety. There, despite incredible combative talent of their leader that helped the entire clan make their way to their new home, they forsook the way of the shinobi and instead become a nomadic community of philosophers, traders and even a few remaining craftsmen from the Honosume.

Sick of war and its consequences, the now quasi-pacifistic Uchūsei did not partake in the first two Great Shinobi Wars, instead continuing their trading ways. Though they still possessed knowledge of their formerly competent levels of shinobi techniques and had scrolls containing instructions for the training of their shinobi, the Uchūsei continued their exile from the battlefield and instead acquired protection by hiring mercenaries for protection.

In stark contrast to the previous wars - and oddly fortuitous in its own right - the Third Shinobi War was a blessing to the now peaceful tribe, with no small part due to Third Hokage's decision to permit cross-border trading with the Land of Wind. Later, this same mentality of open-trade lead to the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind to opening their borders. Accordingly, the Uchūsei thrived with this new-found access to a larger market and flourished considerably in terms of wealth and renown. Similarly, the Fourth War played out almost even more positively for the astronomers, many of whom now utilized advancements in technology to create settlements in the Land of Fire to house their immense telescopes. While the immediate conflict brought along some disturbance, as the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind were opposites in terms of treatment by the Daimyo, the Uchūsei had to forsake their routes temporarily in the Land of Fire, instead only trading within the Land of Wind and maintaining their observatories in the Land of Fire. To their luck, the lifestyle they had built over the previous decades was, in its entirety, perfectly acceptable to the new Daimyō. Once he marched on Sunagakure, the trade markets for the Clan were opened back up and the Clan thrived as much as if not even more so than before.

Under the banner of Sarutobi, Hideo Uchūsei joined the Daimyō's police force and received a Cursed Seal. Re-learning the ancient techniques of the Clan proved no small challenge, but Hideo brought them back to great effect and popularity. While Hideo himself didn't show any signs of unusual development with his Curse Mark, his eventual offspring most definitely did as Cursed Children. This first generation of Cursed Children created an extraordinary set of circumstance: not only did the augmented-DNA of their father awaken the forgotten technique, it bastardized it, forming a new version of a lost dōjutsu. The Cursed Seal contained minute pieces of Minato Sarutobi himself, which meant it contained the last remnants of true Uchiha DNA that existed. When this was passed down to the next generation, the mutations that normally resulted in Cursed Children, this time resulted in a whole new Kekkei Genkai, proven when Gala, daughter of Hideo, was the first Uchūsei to carry the Tentaigan (天体眼) - The Celestial Eye.

Gala showed almost unprecedented growth, performing techniques the Uchūsei had forgotten eras ago, never written down on scrolls - all without the aid of a tutor. Noticeably, all of her clan jutsu - both the legendary ones hidden away in scrolls and those she relearned through natural practice - were augmented by her dōjutsu. By the age of eighteen, Gala was immensely powerful, far outmatching her father whom was considered a master of the Clan techniques. As the reign of Sarutobi found its drastic end, Hideo, now a target trying to evade being purged, fled from his clan, leaving primarly non-fighting Uchūsei behind.

Due to her valuable skill set, Gala - now the undisputed premiere fighter of the clan, and additionally supported by the Uchūsei's matriarchal tendencies - was appointed head of the clan. Though her diligent and enthusiastic nature aided her with settling in, the transition was shakey at best, due to her lack of leadership skills and her pregnancy. Like many Uchūsei, motherhood came early to the competent shinobi and the clan soon welcomed a new addition - Khalee.

Khalee would receive training by her mother from an early age on. While the young girl did not seem to possess the natural prowess of her mother, she held immense potential, as she was given crucial training in areas few people could tutor, such as her cursed chakra. As a result, Khalee became an immensly controlled and unshakable personality during conflicts.

Shortly after Khalee turned 19, Gala deemed her strong and wise enough to replace her without worry. Truthfully, the circumstances of her nominations had always left a sour taste in her mouth, and she did not think particularly highly of her performance as head of the clan. While Gala went on what would probably best be described as a sabatical, Khalee was quickly accepted as the Uchūsei's new leader and has remained in position ever since.

Abilities

General

● The Uchūsei tend to naturally lean towards an almost dance-like fighting style, often moving and striking in motion patterns close to techniques like Capoeira.

● The clan has a distinct lack of interest in weaponry, instead focusing heavily on the aforementioned fighting style.

● It is extremely common for the members of the clan to have offspring at a very young age, with recent examples being Gala (mother at age 19) and Shihe (Father at age sixteen)

● A list of all Honosume and Uchūsei Hiden Jutsus known:

Emissary of God 星界からの使者 Tethered into the deep roots of the astronomic focus of the Clan, this technique manifests physically by creating circulating rings resembling those of a planet that are able to deflect incoming damage, and covers parts of the wielder's body in a peculiar mineral for boosted defense. Depending on the user's proficency, the amount, density and movement speed of the rings and the mineral can be affected, and can essentially range through threat levels C, B and A.

While the core of this jutsu is ancient, the influence of the cursed chakra has tweaked the technique. It now lets chakra flow directly below the surface, appearing as entrapped lava.

Emissary of a Roaring God 星界からの使者 A jutsu developed by Gala Uchūsei, who, thanks to her matured Tentaigan, was able to tap into all five schools of nature, and upgraded the original technique. This jutsu draws upon the element of fire, presumably due to the inherited predisposition for it.

Now fully conceptualized with cursed chakra in mind, this version, in addition to the basic technique's effects, surrounds the user in a magenta glow, while the mineral takes over the entirety of the user's frame. Additional rings spawn, and offensive capabilities increase. Body temperature increases heavily and can have drawbacks for inexperienced or unfocused users.

TaiyōkeiBLADE 太陽系BLADE This technique allows the user to store chakra inside the planetary ring of its parent technique, and functions similar to mines. Sethlans' WrathThe user momentarily prioritizes chakra flow in his/her leg area, increasing the temperature of the entrapped "lava". Offensive maneuvers such as kicks or knee strikes gain not only power, but carry potentially scorching temperatures. The uneven chakra distribution can lead to loss of the defensive rings and/or upper body armor.

WRETCHED Ryūseigun (or Wretched Meteor Shower) is a jutsu in which the user summons meteors-like projectiles out of their physique and shoots them towards opponents. This technique only works for users who have mastered the S version of the Emissary jutsu.

Kekkei Genkai

● Tentaigan (天体眼) - The Celestial Eye: The Tentaigan is the result of a mutated dōjutsu, influenced by not only cursed chakra, but also the Uchiha’s predisposition for Sharingan. It physically manifests as a light-magenta glow with a pitch black miniature solar system stretching across the eyeball of the user. It grants the ability to see chakra (and any irregularities), as well as incredible clarity of perception, which enables skills such lip reading and minor motion mimicking. When developed through training, these perceptive abilities can become predictive capabilities.

This dōjutsu possesses a mature form that allows those who carry it to tap into all five elements without the need to overtly train to use them.

Unique Traits

● All Uchūsei have a deep connection to nature and the galaxy itself. As such, they tend to be great astronomers and have a natural curiosity.
